This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel
and friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes
for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
Listen to Superhuman on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
A win is a win.
A win is a win.
I don't care what I'm saying.
Yep, that's me, Cliver Taylor the 4th.
You might have seen the skits, my basketball and college football journey, or my career in sports media.
Well, now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Clifers Show.
This is a place for raw, unfilled conversations with athletes, creators, and voices that not only deserve to be heard,
but celebrated.
So let's get to it.
Listen to the Clifford show on the I Heart Radio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
And for more behind the scenes,

On the Look Back at it podcast.
From 1979, that was a big moment for me.
84's big to me.
I'm Sam J.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick a year,
unpack what went down,
and try to make sense of how we survived it.
With our friends, fellow comedians,
and favorite authors.
Like Mark Lamont Hill on the 80s.
84 was a wild year. I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

By the way, I'm going to say it again.
I was asked on Fox NFL kickoff joy.
I was asked last week, name the team of the losing record that's going to make the playoffs.
I'll stick with the Minnesota Vikings.
They're going to crush the bears tonight.
They're going to crush the clown boys next week.
Watch the Minnesota Vikings.
We see this every year.
Now, the Giants may be the second team because their division is so bad.
Yeah, well, that's entirely possible.
That division's awful.
Oh, I think the Giants will win it.
But just watch the Minnesota Vikings.
Everybody bails in September and October if you struggle.
They lost two one-point games.
One of them to Tennessee.
I think one to – it could have been Seattle.
I forget they lost two one-point games.
Watch the Vikings tonight.
This is a real football team with like seven really high-end elite players.
players most on offense.
Peter Schrager now joining us,
Fox Sports NFL reporter.
So, okay, I want to talk about this.
You know Steve Kime real well.
You know Arizona very well.
So let's take us to the
Kyler Murray kind of game-winning drive,
game-winning pass to D-Hop.
All right. So I spoke with Cliff Kingsbury last night.
This is probably about an hour after the game.
I said, take me through it because that couldn't have been the design.
Kyler, go roll left and throw a 60-yard heave to four people.
And he said, no, actually, the play call is called Cowboy.
Why is it called Cowboy?
Because this is based on what Aaron Rogers did in the playoff game against the Cowboys three years ago.
If you remember, Rogers threw a pass to Jared Cook along the sideline to set up the game-winning Mason-Crosby field goal.
We actually have the footage here.
This was the intention for the play.
It was supposed to be Kyler, about 30 yards along the sideline to Andy Isabella, number 17,
who is a drag route who's coming streaking across to go out of bounds,
leave about five seconds left and then get another shot at the end zone.
But Cliff told Kyler and the play before, he said,
unless you feel confident in Hop, that's the play.
Now look here, here's Kyler.
Isabella's about 30 yards down field.
The play is for Isabella to catch the ball
and then set up the final drive, the cowboy play.
But he said, if you see Hop and you feel confident, let a rip.
Now, there's three guys there.
I don't know if it's hop wide open or what.
Kyler would say there was never a doubt in his mind.
He was going for it all here.
He was throwing it to Hopkins.
And I'll tell you what, DeAndre Hopkins goes up there.
That's three guys, three really good defenders right there.
That's Tredavius White, Micahide, and Jordan Poir,
who are three of the best defensive backs in football.
And that catch, Colin, there might be five people in the world who can throw this pass,
and there might be one player in all of football who can make the catch.
And it just so happens, they did it with one second left.
The coolest game of the week, and it's a huge one.
They're now in first place in the NFC West.
So the Rams are a team that everybody jumped on board a couple of years ago,
and then I kind of jumped off last year early.
I said they have a lot of good players, but there's a lot of missing pieces.
They look thin to me, and now I watch them,
and it's the deepest wide receiver, tight-end core in the league.
I mean, you've got nothing but players.
The defense has literally been transformed
their six and three.
What is the story behind that defensive resurgents
and the overall Rams play?
Look, they call him Coach Wade in Los Angeles
and it's Wade Phillips and he was beloved.
But it was time to make a change.
They brought in Brandon Staley,
who was with Vic Fangio the past several years,
both in Chicago and in Denver.
And what their defense is doing
is maybe the most underreported story in the NFL.
In nine games, all right, in nine games,
eight of those nine games they've played,
they've given them a field goal or less in the NFL.
second half. They're just suffocating. Yesterday, D.K. Metcalf did not have a target until the third
quarter. He ended up finishing with two catches for 28 yards. Jalen Ramsey absolutely erased him.
And then Leonard Floyd, who was a castaway off of the Chicago Bears and they said,
ah, we've got enough guys, had three sacks and a forced fumble yesterday. The Rams defense is the
identity of this team, not the McVeigh offense. Something about McVeigh? Colin, 31 games he has led
in halftime in the regular season. Thirty-one games in his career.
They're 31 and 0 when they lead at halftime under McVeigh.
That's how good they are once they get that lead.
They just get going early.
And you mentioned it.
They got the playmakers.
The offense hasn't even gotten going.
Gough hasn't even been great yet.
They're sputtering on offense.
And yet this defense is what leads them.
It's really different than most teams in the NFL.
Yeah.
And by the way, the Jalen Ramsey deal, you saw its value yesterday.
They just took D.K. Metcalfe out of the game.
So Joy and I talked about this last year.
The dolphins got rolled by like 50 against ball.
Baltimore in week one.
Yeah.
And we're like, oh, Brian Flores, this is going to be another Belichick guy.
And then it was about week seven or eight.
They were still bad.
But I remember going on the air and being like, that's a really well-coached lousy team.
And now I watch them.
And I'm like, I'm, I couldn't make an argument.
They're in the contention for the fourth best NFL team.
I saw him beat Arizona.
I saw him hammer the Rams.
And they're not the team that lost to Seattle because Tua is better than Ryan Fitzpatrick.
what do you make of this really quick rebuild in Miami?
I mean, can you put Flores and Coach of the Year conversation?
I was one of them who said, don't take out Fitzpatrick.
I know Coach Dave Wonstat was as well.
He said, don't just put Tua in for the sake of putting Tua in.
They're a much better team with Tua.
Let's just be honest.
And they're also more exciting.
But there's other parts to this.
Like yesterday, they're running back who had 85 yards in a touchdown.
It was an undrafted running back named Salvin Ahmed,
who no one had ever heard of until two weeks ago.
when he got a couple touches, and yesterday shows up and plays huge.
The receivers were Mack Hollins, right?
And like Joaquin Grant, they're all buying in on team first.
And that is a Brian Flores quality that he wanted all along.
So when they lost that game to Baltimore last year, everyone said they're terrible.
And when they traded Minka Fitzpatrick for draft picks, everyone said that's ridiculous.
Mika Fitzpatrick's great on the Steelers.
And that's what the Steelers needed.
But what the Dolphins needed, they needed position players all around.
And they're getting contributions from everyone.
And they had a really good free agent class, a really good draft class,
and they've got a really good head coach.
You know, by the way, this quarterback might end up being the offensive rookie the year.
Yeah.
Hey, I got to, and you would know this Shreger more than anybody, but we were talking about this earlier.
Who would have thought that James Winston may control the NFC South, not Matt Ryan, not Breeze, not Brady?
So Breeze is out and they face Atlanta twice in the next three weeks.
And Atlanta now is playing really good football.
and the question is, you know, James has talent, but if Atlanta knocks off the Saints twice,
then Brady is probably back in first.
And the difference between a wild card in first place in the NFC,
because we know the Super Bowl's in Tampa,
but you're not going to win back-to-back-to-back playoff road games in the NFC.
I don't care who it is.
You're just not going to do it.
So what is the update on, are they going to play James Tason,
Breeze's health?
Can you give us an update?
Yeah, and I'd also actually add one more layer to you.
your conversation with some nuance here with the new playoff format. The one seed is the only team
that gets a buy. So that's even more much of an incentive. And right now, the NFC is wide open.
It's not like the AFC where there's an undefeated team. So these games matter. Here's a deal.
James signed with New Orleans before really exploring a bunch of other offers because he wanted
what he told people, quote unquote, a graduate degree in quarterback. He wanted an NBA. And he thought he
he could learn that from Sean Payton and Drew Brees. Nothing against Bruce Ariens and what he's had in the past or
some of the other offensive coaches. But he felt that.
that if he went and just absorbed,
Breeze and Peyton for a year,
the next year he can sign another deal
and be a franchise quarterback.
I don't even think James expected this year to be the year,
but he will be the quarterback.
They love getting Taysom in there.
It's going to be James' team for the foreseeable future.
I can't give you a timetable on Breeze.
He's incredible,
but I wouldn't be shocked with the ribs injury
and him taking himself out in the shoulder the week before
that we do see James for the time being.
And this is going to be an audition,
not only for what he can do with the Saints,
but what he can do for the rest of the league
and see if he can be a franchise quarterback again.
Yeah, no, Shragut.
Because I actually said
there wasn't much of a market for Cam
because of injuries.
Like, I do think James,
I'd give him another run.
If I was the Saints, I'd give him a run for a year.
I think he could be.
He's highly productive and he's never had injuries.
Finally, you know,
one of the things about Brady and Ariens,
Brady, you know, had this efficient,
detailed-oriented offense in New England.
And then he goes to Aryan,
who's, you know, no risk, no biscuit.
So it was a little bit of a cultural oddity.
We didn't know it would fix.
And then you bring A, B, in,
and I felt they were forcing the ball to A, B in the first week.
They were trying, low percentage.
And it was funny because yesterday, it looked like they went back to a little New England, Tom,
which is establish the run, higher percentage.
Do you think there was in that Saints game?
A little pushback, Ariens and Brady,
that Bruce wanted bigger.
Tom is not comfortable because I thought yesterday's game plan looked like Tom Brady put
his foot down and say, listen, man, we've got to have a running game here.
I'm not 27 years old.
Yeah, I think the first time that Antonio Brown was on the field for them, the game got out
of control so quick it was 21-0.
So then maybe there was some forcing to the receivers.
What I thought was interesting yesterday was the past disparity that they all got catches.
I think Evans had seven, Godwin had six, and Antonio Brown had six.
But Colin, I'll tell you, I spoke with my Tampa guys yesterday after the win.
They were on that tarmac for seven hours.
They were in an airport.
They had to change planes, all those things.
Apparently, Leftwich and Brady were sitting on a bench at the airport just going over the playbook at like 10 o'clock at night the night before.
And they were dialed in.
Even if they weren't in their hotel room until midnight, Brady had this thing down.
He wasn't going to let them lay an egg two weeks in a row.
I'm very curious how this works out.
Antonio Brown looked really good yesterday.
Yeah, you know, he really did.
He looked.
And by the way, he wasn't that highly emotional.
He was restrained.
He went out.
He made catches, ball down, back to the huddle.
I thought A, B, was under control, but still really dangerous.
Peter Schreger, Fox Sports NFL also does your show.
Give it a plug on the NFL network.
It is.
Good morning football, but I'm more interested in USA soccer.
Let's go, guys.
Thanks, buddy.
Good seeing you.

Do you remember when Diana Ross
double-tap little Kim's boobs at the VMA?
Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people.
I know what you're thinking.
What the hell does George Bush got to do with a little Kim?
Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast.
I'm Sam J.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick it here, unpack what went down,

Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill,
waxing all about crack in the 80s.
To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack on day, but yeah, yeah.
No, we don't have plenty.
But just so y'all know.
I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed correct.
So I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now.
Thank you finishing that sentence.
Yes.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.

I'm talking, Tripp Fontaine, Ryan Clark.
Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing,
we get so wrapped up in the chase
that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing
and we're still chasing it
and we don't know when we've done enough.
Because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross, because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth?
Are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely.
And that's two different levels of trust.
I want you to just really be a good person.
Join me, Kear Gaines, is we have real conversations about healing, growth, fatherhood, pressure, and purpose on my new podcast.

All right, Joy Taylor with the news.
No, no, no, no, no.
Turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
The Broncos were no match for the Raiders yesterday.
Las Vegas dominated on the ground,
203 total rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns.
In 2020, that is a lot of rushing yards.
It is.
Drew Locke had one of his worst performances of the season,
completing less than 50% of his pass.
and throwing a season high for interceptions.
His one touchdown of the day came in garbage time in fourth quarter.
Denver lost 37-12 to the Raiders.
Okay, let's be honest about this.
Drew Locke has been really good in fourth quarters.
It's the Tebow thing.
The defense you're facing, lessens the pass rush,
gives you prevent defense, lots of safer throws.
Drew Locke has been horrible in the first three quarters,
the last three games I've watched.
Do not buy into great,
fourth quarter. That was the Tebow thing.
Oh, Tebow would go three for
13. And then in the fourth he'd complete
seven of nine. Everybody go, look at the stats.
It's like, no, no. When you trail,
like the Raiders at the end of the game, they're going to
give you 11-yard completions. They just don't
want anything over the top. Right.
So when I look at Drew Locke, I take
out the fourth. Give me the first three-quarter
and John Elway is watching that right now.
Denver's going to get a quarterback. Come on.
I like Drew Locke going into
the season, but I like Denver a lot more
going into the season than by the time that the
season actually started.
Since Drew Locke's
dance after the Chargers win.
How has he been?
They are. I know you would love this.
Put this got it for you. Oh, and two.
50.50.50 yards.
Three passing touchdowns, one rushing touchdown.
And five interceptions.
He ain't it?
Yeah, it's unfortunate. I mean, we don't have a lot of patience for
young quarterbacks these days. It's not so much about him
dancing in general as that's a very top division.
and you just, those stats are not going to cut it in the division that you're in.
Listen, his completion percent, this league is built now, Joy, for a quarterback to complete about 64 percent.
Even if you're not like laser.
Yeah.
I mean, in a monsoon last night, Lamar completed like 65, 70 percent of his throws.
Like the league is now designed, the rules.
If you're completing anything under like 61, it is a problem.
You have a problem either reading defenses or throwing the ball accurately.
Well, it's 50%.
That's T-Bow.
It's not good.
So Drew Brees was forced out of the Saints' 27-13 win over the 49ers yesterday.
After suffering a rib injury in the first half, he'll get an MRI today to determine the extent of the injury.
But his status for the Saints next game against the Falcons is uncertain.
So we're assuming we're going to see James.
He was 8 of 13 for 76 yards in a touchdown before leaving the game yesterday.
So they have the Falcons next.
then they're at the Broncos, then at the Falcons.
Let's go.
Let's say Jamis plays for a month.
So let's go over the games.
Falcons at home.
Then at the Broncos.
Close win, win, loss.
At Eagles, Chiefs, Vikings, and then at Panthers.
Well, Chiefs Vikings, what James would be.
Those are good teams.
Phillies depends on the morning.
Like, who's healthy, who's not.
I tell you something.
If James, if James goes in the next four,
Falcons, Broncos, Falcons, Eagles.
Because remember, Bridgewater got a job on five starts.
Because we know.
So Bridgewater got a big contract.
If Jamis goes three and one,
Falcons, Broncos, Falcons, Eagles,
he's going to get a contract.
Like, for James, this is going to get you,
this could get you $45, $50 million.
Yeah, if you went half through games as a backup quarterback,
that's a good situation.
But James is a starting quarterback.
So I don't think this is going to be a massive step back.
I like James. He's obviously very productive.
The issue is his turnovers.
That's always been the issue.
So if he can avoid turning the ball over as much as he scores, then they'll be fine.
And again, Brady had his worst game as a pro with Ariens.
Aaron's wants you to throw it downfield.
That played into, to me, a weakness of James.
He can be loose.
Payton's not that.
Sean Payton's not that.
So it's very possible that James is actually significantly more efficient.
He won't be as productive, but more.
efficient with Sean Payton. Well, hopefully
it's not a massive injury
for two reasons. He's only out a few
weeks, but I'm sure
they're also going to get creative with Taysam Hill
in there as well. They both saw snaps in the
second half. So the Lakers and
Thunder have reportedly agreed to a
trade. O. Casey will send
Dennis Truder to the Lakers in exchange for
Danny Green and the 28th overall pick
in the draft. Truder was
a key piece for the Thunder last season, 18.9
points, four assists, 3.6
rebounds in 30.8
minutes per night off the bench.
Not a great defender, but with Anthony
Davis protecting the rim, you're fine.
He was a nominee for sixth man of the year
this season. Yeah, no, he's a real player.
And he finished second and voting behind
the winner Montrez-Harrel. So this is a
significant move for the Lakers.
They can't keep Rondo. He's going to be too expensive.
And they get Avery Bradley back.
Yeah. I got to be honest with you, this
is not a small move. He's been a double
digit score. He's 27
years old. He's not a great defender,
but again, they have a rim protect. They have
plenty of length. They have rim protectors.
I mean, he's not a bad defender.
The reality is, with this offense, the way LeBron passes,
he'll be an 18 point a game score. That's a nice get
for them. Well, LeBron, Rondo, and Davis combined for nearly
62% of the Lakers assist
during this run to the NBA title. So
with Rondo leaving, he is going to be
a significant piece for them. More championships
in Los Angeles. This is working out beautifully coming out here.
How about Sam Presti's moves in Oklahoma City?
He got out of the Chris Paul?
He had one all-star season of Chris Paul.
He turned, since trading Westbroke, one all-star season of Chris Paul,
got Kelly Ubre, Ricky Rubio, Ty Jerome, Jailen Lucu,
three first-round picks and two pick swaps.
And what he's doing is with all these picks is,
because drafting is in exact if he can hit on one or two of them.
If you hit on one or two of them, you've got a start.
star two. Then you start over and you get your new version of Hardin Westbrook, hopefully
Durant. And you moved off of Chris Paul's big contract.
And Chris Paul's contract is not as bad as everybody's. It's two big years.
No, but it's too big for a rebuilding team.
Right. But it's fine for Phoenix. Yeah. Good stuff. Joy with the news.
Well, that's the news. And thanks for stopping by.
The Hurd Lie News. I am, when I saw that move yesterday on Twitter,
my first takeaway was, wow, that is substantial.
Like LeBron had to be gone.
I got to give up a 28th pick.
LeBron doesn't like draft picks anyway.
And Danny Green, who I like, but he was inconsistent.
And to get Dennis Schrooter, with LeBron's passing,
Avery Bradley comes back, it's like the Lakers will be significantly better in the back court.
Well, you have to love that move also because they're not super excited about starting up as early as they have to now,
having just finished the bubble.
So they get another guy that can score.
In a few weeks, and he's young.
I can't believe that deal.
That is a, Rob Polinka deserves a ton of credit for that.
Honestly, my takeaway was I couldn't figure it out.
I was like, what do they get out of it?
The 28th pick in this draft is out of the league in 40 minutes.
They don't know if they have three picks in this draft.
I just, I'm sure there's something in it for them.
They can get rid of Danny Green's kind.
I mean, basically, getting rid of Chris Paul and eventually Danny Green's contract is they're just not going to have, they can have a clean slate.
What they're going to be able to do is go offer an All-Star, huge money.
That's it.
They have a lot of flexibility now.
Yeah, tons of it.
Sam Presti does.
All right.

Do you remember when Diana Ross double-tapped Little Kim's boobs at the VMAs?
Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people.
I know what you're thinking.
What the hell does George Bush got to do with Little Kim?
Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast.
I'm Sam Jett.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick a here, unpack what went down,
and try to make sense of how we survived it.
Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill,
waxing all about crack in the 80s.
To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because,
of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack all day, but just so y'all know.
I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack.
So I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now.
Thank you for finishing that sentence.
Yes.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.

And we're still chasing it.
And we don't know when we've done enough.
Because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross,

Are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely.
And that's two different levels of trust.
I want you to just really be a good person.

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all,
embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

More than a gorilla to lifestyle.

Joy Taylor has an update on Drew Breeze,
the very latest Joy on Drew Breeze's injuries.
So he has multiple rib fractures on both sides of his chest
and a collapsed lung on the right side, according to Edward.
Okay, so he's out for a month minimum.
That's not stuff that's...
Sounds pretty dramatic.
guess.
Yeah.
So it's, listen, Teddy Bridgewater last year,
five starts, five and oh, changed his financial life.
And it got the Saints into the playoffs and actually Breeze came back rested.
So now it's James Winston's probably going to get four or five starts.
So I've always been a critic of James, but a fan of Teddy.
It's the same roster.
So let's see what James can do.
And this division just got very interesting.
Brady.
All right.
here we go. It's called the three-word game. Every NFL game wrapped up in three
succinct words. Texans and Browns. Very nice, windy. Yeah, this game got delayed.
You could not land a plane in Cleveland in the afternoon. And so basically, Nick Chubb
had missed four games. By the way, the Browns had no rushing touchdowns in the four games he
missed. Nick Chubb comes back. 100 yards, different team. They've got a recipe here as long as
follow it, run the ball out, throw it very little, they'll win games.
Buccaneers at Panthers. Bucks flexed offensively.
Season high in points, yards, yards,
yards, yards, and I thought they established their rushing game,
and then through higher percentage passes to Gronk and A, B, and Mike Evans.
Now, Brady did go over the top at times after the running game had been established,
but I thought they really flexed yesterday.
They gave you, you watch that tape.
If you have to play Tampa next week and you're the Rams,
they showed you a little bit of everything.
Eagles and Giants.
Jones's giant game.
Daniel Jones was fantastic.
Consecutive games now without a turnover for the first time in his career.
He can really run.
This guy can really, he's a real athlete and he's got a nice arm.
So I think Daniel Jones, you know, everybody said he was Eli Manning.
He kind of looks like him.
He much better out of the pocket runner.
or the Nilai Manning, but I think he throws the same very catchable ball.
And I think that was the best he has looked in the NFL.
Jaguars and Packers.
How's that possible?
Okay, 30-mile-an-hour wins at Lambo probably explains it,
but you watch that game.
I watch that game.
How was that game close?
I don't know.
Washington and Lions.
Motor City mediocrity.
Matt Prater, 59-yarder, is
time expired. If the Lions had failed to win, it would have been the ninth time in the Matt
Patricia era where they blew a 10-point-plus lead in a loss, and they almost did again.
Broncos at Raiders. Just winning, baby. Defense Force five turnovers from Drew Locke. They entered
the game with five takeaways all season. It was real simple. They ran the ball,
and let Drew Locke make a bunch of mistakes.
Boring and simple and it worked.
Chargers and Dolphins.
A simple recipe.
They're great on third down defensively.
They have great special teams.
And they ask Tua, complete about 15 or 18 passes.
This is what they do.
They don't make a lot of mistakes.
They don't turn it over.
They play great special teams.
They make their field goals.
And defensively, very good.
They get you off to.
the feel on third down. Very simple recipe for Miami.
Bill's and Cardinals. Murray's a magician. What are you going to say about Kyle or Murray?
First player in NFL history with both a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown in
five straight regular season games. I know you want to compare him to Russell Wilson.
He's not. He's much, but he runs to attack. Russ runs to buy time to throw.
This kid, he runs. He'll end up being.
one of the top rushers in the NFL this year.
He's not Russell Wilson.
Seahawks said Rams.
Don't blame Russ.
Seattle has not had a hundred-yard rusher this season.
He was sacked six times.
Their secondary, although talented at safety, does not make plays.
Look at the difference between the Rams secondary yesterday that shut down D.K. Matcalf
had multiple picks and the Seahawks secondary,
where RAM receivers were wide open all game.
Go ahead and blame Russell Wilson, but I said before,
Kansas City could win a lot of games without Mahomes.
Last year, the Steelers won seven or eight games without Ben.
Would Seattle win a game in this league, seriously, without Russell Wilson?
I'm not sure they would.
Bengals and Steelers.
Learned nothing new.
Steelers have won their last 11 games against the Bengals.
and it's interesting.
They're the first team to start 9 and 0
since the Panthers and the Patriots did it in 2015.
Sometimes they let bad teams stick around.
That was not the case yesterday.
49ers at Saints.
Up to James.
As Joy told you, Drew Brees, multiple fractured ribs.
And so it looks like in the next month,
James is going to play Atlanta, Denver, Atlanta, and Philadelphia.
Three and one, Teddy Bridgewater went five and oh.
Three and one, they'll probably retain the league division lead because Tampa's got to play Kansas City in two weeks.
They'll probably lose that.
So they can lose a game.
They lose two.
And Tampa Bay has got Rams at home they'll win after Kansas City a buy.
So they may just sit home and take the division lead.
Ravens and Patriots.
Perfect Patriots weather.
It's pretty simple.
The Patriots this year, New England, four and one,
when they rush 35 times or more.
And 0 and 4 when they don't.
So when the weather's like this,
and nobody can throw the ball that effectively,
this is what New England's built for.
They still, regardless, they,
and I don't think Cam's the answer,
they got to get quarterback fixed,
and they have got to get faster offensively.
They got to get faster at tight end.
It's amazing.
We live in Los Angeles.
The Rams have two tight ends I like.
The Chargers have a great tight end.
We got three in L.A.
If you count the Raiders that weren't out in Oakland last year and Kittle, our state had four great tight ends.
New England doesn't have anything resembling that.
Tight ends a position right now.
There's a lot of good tight ends.
And there's a lot of good tight ends coming out of college football.
They got to figure that out.
They're not dynamic at all.
there and they got to get faster.
And that's not a cam problem.
Like New England's got to get faster at wide receiver.
You watch some of these rosters like Tampa offensively,
and then you look at New England, and you can blame whoever you want.
One of those GMs in Tampa can draft skill people.
They're number four receiver in Tampa, Scotty Miller.
Their number five is Tyler Johnson, the rookie from Minnesota.
He can play.
So tomorrow, one of my favorite college football coaches, Brian Kelly and Notre
James stops by, and Peter King stops by as well.
Lakers have pulled off a trade.
The Drew Brees injury much more significant than initially perceived.
Good stuff.
By the way, starting Thursday, Seahawks, Arizona.
It is the best NFL weekend of the year.
It's a great NFL weekend coming up.
