Man, I'm happy to see you. How you doing, Mr. First of all, in my eyes, the real Josh Allen. The real Josh Allen. You hear him? You did? How you doing, my brother? I'm blessed, bro.

Bless to be year going to year eight, still whipping people to the high-looking and winning games. So I know Jalves was in here with us, right? And being a first round pick, first round pick, I know I felt pressure on winning because I think this city deserves it. The people here, I love them, you know,

even though I didn't know how I wanted in here, but things happened. But can you tell me the pressure you felt this time, the urgency of being a Super Bowl winner? Yeah. We came up short, FC championship, you know,

and I think y'all guys got the talent, got the coaches, I have the people to get back there. Yeah. So, I mean, coming in,

you're talking about coming in, right? Yeah. Coming in, where I came in with a lot of vets, you know, Clay's,

yon, Marcel Darius, you know, I had a deep room. Yeah. And so for me, it was just like, how can I fit in?

And then for me, it was just like, how can I be a good rookie? You know what I'm saying? Go to Popaz, get the, that's when the same ones Just came out.

Make sure you get the sandwiches and don't be late for the bus. You know what I'm saying? How am I going to do that? You know what I'm saying? Just don't want anything to do. And, you know, Clares Campbell made it easy for me, bro. Clay's just like, you know, we played our Miami preseason game. At Miami.

At Miami. We came down. I was on the bus. I just, you know, I broke my head. I was playing with a cast and, you know, all that was getting to me. Clay's looked at me on the bus. Just like, man, dog, I was going to be a dog. So what you're going to do?

And for me, it was just like that. And then I was like, like, that. And then that was like the game to where it was just like I bought sacks and tackle for the losses, running down screen, him making big hits. And for me, it was just like, oh wow, just calm now. Yeah. And for me, and then, you know, and then it just took off from there. And then now, like, I might point out was just like keep building on what I did last

year. You know, I had a good season last year to the standard that I wanted to be. Probably not, but respectful. Yeah. You know, not respect to what I did last year. But, you know, there's always more, man, and I gotta get it. You mentioned Kalas. You mentioned the other couple other guys that would hear that older.

How is your leadership role? Obviously, it's drawn, right? You're the guy, right? You know what I'm saying? Like, like, what's that like? What's the picture that looked like? Bro. It hit me probably, it hit me earlier than I wanted to expect it to.

You know what I'm saying? When, you know, year one, it was like, I ain't had to worry, but I didn't have to say nothing. Like, I was like, the only thing I told was like, Clay's this isn't going to exit. Right. That's the only thing I had to worry about. And then, like, you know, that next year when everybody left, I was like, hey, Josh, you're the guy. I'm like, you know, but I dealt with a lot, though, mentally. It was just a lot.

It was just, you know, I got to be that guy. And then, you know, you look at the talent, too. It was like, we didn't have the best roster. Yeah. And, you know, during COVID, so it was like, am I even having a season? That was the first all season. So it was a weird one. They know what they expect.

So I came in to a situation really. not prepared to stand the ground I know now. Yep. And then being put in a situation like, you're the captain. You have to see the chest. Awesome. Yeah. I'm like, yo.

So for me, it was definitely a hard, you know, a hard pill to swallow. But I think over time when I started to just, you know, worry about myself. Yeah. You know, it became natural. So for me, what were some of the biggest mistakes you made as a rookie? Now you're teaching these young guys since you're the vet, you have the hell of the room. What you're teaching them now? Don't overthink it.

Yeah, yeah. I mean, like, today in practice, man, there's a, you know, there's little things that we can see, you know what I think. You know, I think, you know, young guys, like, you get the call, and then, like, you have to play the call. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? You have to look at your man, but the bigger picture of everything is just see everything.

Right. You know what I'm saying? Look outside. You just be relaxed. Like, obviously, you know the call, but, like, look out. Look at the line. Oh, shit, he gives me a run stance, but it's third down. Yeah.

Oh, it could be something right here. So you can play a little bit faster. Like today we had a crack toss among one of my workies. It was at a three-point stand. I already know you're going to get blocked because I know you don't see this dude right. So it's just like the little thing is like, bro, you're not going to let anybody walk up behind you

while you're sitting in a restaurant. You're always going to be. Facing the door. You're always going to be on point. You always got to be on point when you step on a field. So does that call from? Experians. Experience?

Experience like today. Again, another cool example, bro. Me and Eric Murray, who's wearing a little blitz. And I'm listening to their cadence. I'm listening to, like, the shit, you know, what our offense is saying. I'm like, hey, tighten down you, man. They're going to go full slide.

I'm going to pull this taco right here. He won't be threw out the head because his back and not going to get you. He's going to sit this right before the place. Yeah. And he, I got you. I got you. I got you. Tying down.

Sack off the ass. You know what I'm saying? So it was just like no football. Everybody at home. This is the Josh Hines Allen. I leap. All this. All this.

What did he got? I needed that one. Yeah. And speaking of Josh Heinz Allen. What made you change your name? Man, I mean, you can look at it and say, you know, a whole bunch of things, but, you know, it was something I'm going to do for a long time, but it was just like, it is what it is. And then my wife was like, Josh, just do it. Yeah.

And then I called, you know, I kind of in touch with a lawyer, hey, how do we make this work? Because it really is just like finding the people to work with. He was just like, oh, hey, I don't make this work. He's all right, but I'll make it easy for everyone. It was just like, okay. But also it was a perfect time here for me, too, because when you look at how my career was going so far, I had a great season that year. So now my name is being talked about. And so now, you know, that adjustment period of coming into that next season was like, oh, this is the new and new and pooled Josh Heinz Allen.

But for me, I was the same person. Yeah. But the world had to adjust to who I really was and who I am now. And they see Josh Hans Allen as a man of his own because, you know, it was always getting compared to the quarterback. You know, a lot of respect to him, no disrespect, but like, you know, I'm my own man. And every time I play, I took that personal. Absolutely. But, yeah.

But how special can you and Mr. Walker be, man? Yeah, we can be the best tandem in the world. You know, we have the highest. You can't get no higher than what we have in house. So we can be the best duo in the world. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? So to hold that title, man, it takes a lot of conviction and a lot of discipline.

Yeah. But I think we vote guys that really wonderful each other. Yep. And I know I can be the best. You know, we can be the best. Yeah, we want that for each other. I'm gonna be real. Either, I'm getting smaller.

Yeah, I told him that. I told him the same thing. Like, I told him the same thing. I don't know, bro. You got bigger, I got smaller. I'm looking at y'all down. I'm like, damn. I don't really remember him being the size when I was here.

Every year, bro. Yeah, I ain't lying, bro. I still trip the fuck out. I heard of what's there. Hell, yeah. Off the rip. Off the rip. Quick question, Josh.

Quick question, Josh. I know, I'm playing in just now. Ain't a rookie no more, huh? No. Quick question, Josh. Like, what would you say it would be a good goal for you guys, not only as a defense, right?

Obviously, we know the term defense with the championships, right? What would be a good, good pitcher, a good outlook for you guys as not only as a defense, but as a team, like, you know, last year we made playoffs. 13 and 4. Yeah.

Lost to the bills. Right? And we was kind of talking about that the other sideline like that. And you was like, damn, like, we really lost this shit. And people don't understand you lose by margins. Yeah.

Football. It's not the big things. It's the little things, the fans, the people don't see when you go back and watch the tape. You're like, damn. Yeah. That's why, you know, so. So, for it's always a great question, man. I feel like all I look is what we want to be.

You know what I'm saying? I felt like last year, you know, we've always been there. There's one thing about being in an organization. You don't have to be motivated by anything else because people are already going to put it out there. People are already going to put, you're this, you're that. They're going to label us as, you know, as cheeks. No matter what you're accomplished in this league, you will always have entitled of being under a certain title of what they want to see this.

So for us, it's like, let that, you know, that fuels you. Like, hey, bet. So you come out here, I'm playing with nothing, nothing. Like, I'm playing free football. Like, I'm not worried about what you got going on because you're going on. I can be, I can have a thousand sacks. Yeah. And being nothing to me.

know about it. Right. So it's like if I played at the standard of what everybody else wants me to see or what they want us to see everything, they can be shit. Right. But we come into this gang, like, we can beat every team. And we don't say nothing. You know, we let our coaches do the talk and we back them up. You know what I'm saying? But like we come in, we want to stop the run. A defense we want to stop the run. Yeah. And we want to get out to the passive man. And, you know, we got aggressive. So everything on the outside is just noise. It's just noise. It has to be. It's just noise. Like, obviously, you'll be a fool to say you don't hear it. Right. Because everybody.

hear something from a parent to if you're not on social media you can send something. Right. So it's like you'll be a fool, I'll be a fool to say if I don't hear it. But how am I going to receive it? Yeah. You know what's saying? Like, again, what did you say when you introduce me? The father that I become. Yeah. You know, when my son got sick, this football itself really didn't matter. It didn't matter. Like, I saw that perspective would get outside of being a football player and be a father. Yeah. And I was going to ask you, that's my next question, right? Can you? because we both

all there was a father's right yes sir can you explain to me how how helpless you felt knowing that you know you would have you we'll give the world to our kids right our heart

whatever was needed in that moment of trying to become the best football player you are but knowing he needed you as a father how did you balance that I mean

I didn't play that last game you know I'm you know I think timing is God timing is like impeccable because, you know, if it was going to happen, it happened at that particular moment. And I can't stop and say change whatever happened. It was the last game in the season. We had nothing to play for.

So for me, I had nothing. But if we was going to the playoffs, I don't care. Like everything just stopped when I got the note. I mean, we got the final, you know, like, hey, your son has cancer. like nothing else matter like i wasn't worried about you know what defense we were going to run right i don't worry about oh i got to catch this fight oh i got to i got to do this i got none of that matter bro and for me i was sick i was always stuck on being perfect as a football player yeah dedicated all my time to football and to realizing like damn right i missed out i missed out on

moments that that really mattered yeah and for me that time just stood still. And now, bro, I come in this building, and I can't let stuff in a building or stuff outside affect me because if I get affected it, it affects them. And I don't want to come home. Right. Fitting.

Right. Mess the whole house up. My kids come home. My kids, I got my kids right now. As soon as I walk in the door, I need to be greeted. Yeah, for sure. My kid, I walk in the house and agree. Come love on me, yeah.

Because that's what matters. That's what matters. And I tell them, I tell them I love them every day. which I'm not saying. Yeah. I go home, like this floor. I got a curfew. Yeah.

I love you. One-on-one, I love you. I love you. I see you in law. You know what I'm saying? 15, 20 minutes. The long as I got, I value this time, bro,

and I can't take us to that there. Yeah, man, doing that time, obviously, you know, missing the game, obviously something that's so important is that, like, what was the support? You support like, you know, like throughout the team,

the organization, you know, this community, you know what I mean? I mean, you know, you know, from top down, We kept it a very small, we kept it to a very small circle. So he told Doug, Doug was, you're good. Be there. Period.

You're good. You know, then he told, obviously, the owner, GM, and they reached out. Obviously, they didn't, you know, he's dealing what he's dealing with. So, you know, I got a lot of prayers. I told Trayvon, you know, I told the people that I feel that's family to me. Yep. And, you know, it was just, I had a lot of support. That's awesome.

family came down. You know, my family, I really, why didn't even the last time my whole family has came down? They all was bits and pieces, but my sister came from China. She played basketball overseas. So when she got the news, she in the middle of the season, I'll be there tomorrow. Wow. And she was right there. You know, all my family, my mom came down, stayed with my other two while me and my wife was in the hospital with him. We actually celebrated his birthday in the hospital. Right. So having the gifts be sent there. You know, it was just, you know, family, family really came through. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I, I, I, I, I, I don't think that most people all the time recognize that, like, you know, when you're playing in the NFL, like, you know, you're a human too.

Yeah. Right? Like, you, you, you were literally dealing with shit that some people can't even imagine doing it. It might break them. Yeah, 100%. I mean, it did break me, bro. It did break me to a point. But I couldn't be broke because of football.

The discipline I learned from it to be tough to play through injury that when I came in there was wanting to cry. I can't cry because it's not about me. It's about coming in and watching him because he's emotional. He don't know what's going on. So I got to put on this smile. I got to fight through this injury that I got to push it through for him. And for me, man, I learned a lot about myself in those lions. I learned a lot about him in that moment.

And, you know, just always putting a smile on my face to let him know that, you know, we're going to get through this. This is you're okay. Right. And daddy hurting, but you and that won't see it. Yeah, so God is good. I mean, it was a truly blessing. God, it is good.

So I got two more questions for you, right? Mm-hmm. Favorite memory of me Bay and Teen-Aid. Favorite memory. I know we, I thought, you know, I was kind of, I was still in my prime, so doing a lot of crazy shit. Bro, didn't you, oh, man, what game was it? I think you went like 90 yards, 80 yards? Yeah.

That was a home game. Ain't got tackled. Oh, my gosh. Ain't finish. Can't finish. He got two yards though, though. Yeah, that's true. Did y'all score in the drive?

Yeah, we're going to go, yeah. But I would say, I would say, whatever narrative that people add for you and about you, you wasn't like that in the locker. Yeah, facts. So your teammates saw, like, I saw you as almost like a brother. Like, you was never disrespectful to nobody in the locker. Obviously, we are, our personalities is who we are.

But, like, it was never a disrespectful, never, I'm feeling to chip, we're feeling being spotters and I'm going to chip the hell out you at practice. Because you were digging. It was never like that. So I would say, like, it was always a lot of respect. Now, business is business. And people are going to handle that the way they handle that. So I would never put nobody a fault.

But as a teammate, I mean, you can't say nothing more. So, listen, I'm so glad you said that. How you felt when I got cut? Like, you probably, you're probably shocked as a motherfucker. I mean, bro, I can't be, I couldn't be shocked. Because, like, I dealt with so much shit. Yeah. Everybody left him.

First of all, I had Jalen. Yeah. Jalen, I don't even remember Jalen. Right. Like, I remember Jalen being there, Jailen Ramsey. Yeah. And then, like, gone.

I remember playing Houston, and that happened on the sideline. And then his back hurt. And then I don't see him anymore. And he's, like, he's going. And then when you got, when you got cut, it was right after, what was it, right after?

It was right after the March. We did the March. Did the March. Gojacks, should we practice or should we continue march? I'm like, no, I'm like, we're going to practice. Like, what the fuck? We did the march. Hopefully it affects the community, the city.

I'm like, man, but at the end of the day, our job is about winning. Yeah. And, you know, I think we had a couple of guys who wanted to march, and you just wanted to go out there and practices. We had a vote, and, hey, we went to practice. Yeah. But, again, I think that's a testament to the man that you are and the leader that you were because, you know, you were the first one.

marching. You was the first one to stand up and raise your hand when somebody needs to say something, you're the first one. Yeah. So when you're talking about a tree man of value, value, you're talking about somebody that can leave the right way, but nobody else, because that was a very uncomfortable situation for a lot of people sitting in that seat. But for a man to say, we are in this together and we're going to be in this together. Who's going to be the man to step up? That, you know, only a true leader that sees himself as a leader can have the confidence to step up and be like that in front of land and take control. So, you know, I've done a lot of respect for you. So then, so then after that, when all that happened, you know, it was like,

I didn't understand how business worked back then. Right. But I saw an individual leave that was a true leader of man and a guy that knew a lot of good football and had a lot of good football left in him, leave a team that wasn't as talented. And so we had one of our best players. And so that adds a little bit more pressure to everybody out there left. Josh, you said something interesting. How would you, like, from the outside looking in, it always feel like the Jags have been in this rebuilding, like, stage. You know what I mean? Even though y'all has success, it still feel like we still are still missing a piece. We still need to add more.

We still are young. You know what I mean? Like, do we get over there help this year? Or, you know what I mean? Or, like, how do we fix that? Again, I'm ready to take control. I'm ready to put my foot in driver's seat and say, no. It's not a little more.

What's respect? And again, like, the only way to give respect, you got to take it. And that's the only thing we've ever learned. That's one of them, I'm dealing with grown men that got families. I got other responsibilities outside the building. But it's about me and what I've got to do for my dogs to get, to go get the money, too. So for me, it's like, we got to take it. And we've got a first-place schedule.

I'm planning against some of the best alarm in this year. That's a challenge to me. That's a challenge to him. And that's the shit we like. So now it's like what they're going to say now. You know, we'll say that. What are Jason Taylor or, uh, what they don't say now? Yeah.

You know, when you talk about, when you talk about, about numbers, you know, and, you know, my standard is, my stance is where I was been. Job number one for me is to beat the man in front of me. By all means, affect the game. So, you know, that's my mentality when I go into the game.

Obviously, that comes with a lot of seconds. I come with with pressures. Come with hits on the quarterback. That comes with him stepping up, throwing a batter pass or getting a batter pass, getting picks. But when we talk about numbers, man, obviously, man, I want to win deep for you a while. And, you know, since I play for him. for the Jags, I got to break the record. So if I want to cheat something that's never been done here,

I feel like for me, that makes me better because I'm the same type of way. I want you to have tough skin. If you can't take me talking shit or trying to compete with you on the field, we ain't able to be able to, like, you know what I'm saying, kick it outside of the field. But I feel like as far as what me and him bringing together, brunt as we being consistent with what we do, and, you know what I'm saying, continually coming to practice,

putting their work every day. It's going to play out how we needed to play. And I feel like the defensive line, especially, it's going to have to run through us. So my next question will be, right, myself, I plead with, you know, Khalid's Campbell, Malik Jackson, Yonik.

What is, because I knew what the standard was when I was here, what is the standard now for y'all? Man, I say now, bro, obviously, we want to play hard-nosed football. It's not even about, Yes, we want to sack. That's how you get your bread. Yes, we obviously want to stop the run. But it's like if you, if you're that player that's going to woof them and ass, every play,

snap in, snap out, and consistently keep doing that, that's the standard. Like, once you get that right that, everything else, take care of itself. The scheme, the coaches, they're going to help put you in those positions to make plays. I feel like that's as far as the foundation we laid last year from where we left out of the field. We left a lot out of the field. That's what we're getting to, though. Yeah, I know your defensive player, right? and what happens on the offense side of the ball isn't, you know, giving something.

Yeah, you've been attention to it. So, you know, obviously, you know, Trevor Lawrence, he's been the guy here, right, the franchise giving the keys for a long time, right? How can we bring us all together, man? Like, what do you think is going to, you know, eventually get you guys over the hump, right? You know, Lenin last, what, two years here, you guys went to the AFC champion. Two years here. The last three years, you went to the AST champion.

championship, right? And last year, make it to the playoffs, right, fall short to Buffalo, right? Like, what gets us over the hump here in Jackson? Obviously, I'm going to keep saying that word, since, that's what anything like in general. But as far as what we have, going on the offensive side of the ball and the defense's side of the ball, we just got to get to that point where we got each other's back regardless of just safe instances, we go out there and get a three and out. Say, for instance, they go out, to score on the first drive. Second drive might not be like that. They might go three and out on offense, and we might have to go out for a longer drive. It just,

to be that mindset to snap out of it. Whenever it's time for us to go out there and play football, we got each other back at the end of the day. That's the goal. On the offensive side of the ball, defense side of the ball and the special team, I feel like that's what's really going to help get us over that next. Obviously, we'll play those play out of 10 of the teams.

That's always big in the media. Obviously, the Jacksonville is smaller market. But who play those teams? We've got to take around to it. Yeah. I feel like that definitely goes to go get us over the heart. 100%. What did you say?

How important is Coach Liam, Ben, and just the culture ability here, right? changing the vibe, you know, through different regimes I have been here, right? How is he going to my fifth year with Tony, Liam, and all the guys in the front of all, the pieces that they're bringing together, I feel like it really plays a big impact. As you see the hard work that they're putting into the, not just into each other upstairs in the organization, but they really putting it into the players. Like, they pull the players aside, not saying, this is professional.

You don't need no coach. You shouldn't need no coach to do that, but these are coaches who are still willing to. the coach. Y'all played in the league. I'm pretty sure y'all have been around some coaches that just sucking up, just taking up a check like that I don't want to really coach. But these are some coaches that's really putting into building this culture that we have. Man, listen, I was out there watching your practice and that shit made me jealous. Right? Because, like it's a totally different. Like you said, it's a total different feeling. You know what I'm saying? I think I have coaches that that's not old school, but kind of, that kind of understands, y'all, you know,

this new generation about, you know, taking care of your body, not having you on a turf, you know, have you outside. And also, you get you working and you get in and out, right? You know, when I was in the region, it was different. We had time call for, you know, old school. Black socks. I see in that, that. Right.

Black socks. You're in here from seven to nine, you know what I'm saying? Like, to me, that wasn't football to me. But I see now how, especially when I was in Tampa, how the culture's changed you in the building, you get you working, you're out about three or four o'clock. That's what it's about. I feel like that played a big part, too, because I feel the same way. I feel the same way you felt like coming from that old coach staff, even that Georgia. Like Kirby, we'll grind. You know how he'll hard-nosed coach, though. With Liam, he can do a great job. We're not, we want, when you win this building, he wants you to get the work done that you need to get done. What's two or three things that defense? that you guys can do this year to kind of, you know, help this team out, have to all this is out. I'm going to say here. a fan of Jacksonville, Jaguar. You have to been a true fan. 100%. Again, it's one of the youngest teams in the lead. It's never really been like a top organization. They know what this program going through. And I feel like the community and the team taking the turn in the right direction. Man, I was riding in a car last number, I got up from the airport. Just, you know, going into this season, what's some of the biggest takeaways? Coming out of my rookie season, I was just trying to really stay focused. I mean, it was kind of, it was a long season. I mean, going from like the draft process, going all that,

combine, all that stuff. It was a long, long, long season. And then, I mean, after the season, just really wanted to take a break, get my body right, come back and refocused. But, I mean, it was just a long, long season. I mean, but my biggest takeaway was just taking care of my body, learning how to do that, learning how to have a routine.

I would say that's probably one of the biggest thing I took away from it. What week did you hit the rookie wall? I ain't gonna lie. My rookie season, I was good. I didn't feel like I hit no wall. I feel like I was good throughout the old season. But I feel like once that last game came, I'm like, bro. You ready for that shit to be a good?

Man. And then we wasn't doing the best hit. I'm like, man. It's that time, man. It's time. It's time. It's time. It hit the crib, something.

Yeah. I feel like, I feel like as receivers too, right? You know, a lot of pressures on us, especially, you know, you're a first, you know, first-round draft pick, right, like, to come in and perform right away. Did you feel that early on? I mean, obviously, I was here with you in that little bit for a little bit of that time, right, and watching you work, you know, I feel like you handled yourself like a pro, right? You showed up ready, polished, right?

Like, you know, do you still feel that the pressure of, like, you know, taking this team over the hump, getting them over the hump finally? I mean, I didn't feel like it was no, like, no big pressure on. me coming in. Really, I just wanted to come in and just go out there and do the best that I could do on. I didn't really try to look at it from that standpoint. I just really was focused, just focus and just focus and determined on coming in and just putting in the work and just doing what I know I can go out there and do. It was like my opportunity to go show what I could do. I mean, so I was just, I really was just focusing, determined and go out there and like just go out there and compete and be the best that I could meet for sure. 100%. Yeah. So, you know, coming here, right? Obviously, one of my one of my favorite year where I was

receivers, you know, out of, you know, you, Malik, you know, Bresa Piscar, Justin, and just knowing you was going to come in and be wire receiver one, right? What was some of those first conversations what Trevor was like? I remember my first conversation was a draft night. Really just on the phone, just chopping it up. I'm just telling you ready to work and ready to just get here

and just be ready to work and just put the work in and we're going to go far. So, I mean, that was really the first conversation. I mean, and we just kept on stacking from there. Just trying to keep stacking. So this day, they're growing our relationship, steady growing out of chemistry, whether on the field, all the field. They're trying to do all the little things, be better than we were the year before,

be better than we were the day before. Yeah. What do you think is the thing that make your, you guys' receiver room special, right? Like, you guys, y'all got a nice receiver room. And it's been that way, right? You know, and he says, none of you walked in the door, like, that makes you guys special.

special because you guys are all different in some in a little in a little way right you guys got your own little differences now I feel like it's just the the relationship that we all got with each other and then the ability for us to like when we step out on the field we got trust in each other and we know that each and area one of us going to win out one-on-one right and then I feel like we got the we all got the ability to go out there and do everything like we can run the short rows intermediate rows or we can all take the top of I mean I feel like that's just that just helps as an offense I mean because it's like how do you stop us now if everybody can do everything.

So I feel like that's what that's what's really going to take us over the top. And I feel like, I mean, just like I said, like a group of guys that we got, we got good guys in the room. It ain't, you know, really like super high ego or nothing like that. I mean, we just got good guys in the room. I would say that's probably the biggest thing for sure. So I played in Cleveland where, you know, we've had a lot of players and they say it's only one ball.

Yeah. You know what I mean? Like, does that get frustrating? or what's your outlook on that? I mean, you're a young player, right? You know, you want to have success, right? You want to contribute to the first downs and touchdowns. You know, everything that helps the offense will be effective.

Like, how are you handling that, right? You know what I mean? There's only one ball. No, face. I feel like Liam been doing a good job was just spreading the ball around, though. I mean, everybody says it's only one ball, but, I mean, everybody out here been getting touches. And like I said, we all can do everything.

So, I mean, that just opens up everything for all of us. I mean, whether it is I'm clearing out for somebody to get open, whether they clean out for me to get open, we just got there trusting each other, and we know that we're going to go, we're going to do it. And we're going to be open when we're supposed to be there. I mean, but I mean, we just, we're going to look at it from that standpoint. We just try to be to go out there and be the best that we can be,

push each other to be the best each and every day. And, I mean, everything is going to fall in place for sure. Definitely. For me, right? And I'm going to pick up back, pick up back. On LSU, my question will be to you, what were some of the guys you looked up to or you liked watching the LSU?

When you were young, were you an LSU fan? Yeah, I mean, growing up, I was always an LSU fan, but I ain't gonna lie, I don't even want to say this, but my favorite team growing up was Ohio State. It was because of Bryce the Miller though. It was because of Bryce and Miller. It wasn't really my team. I just liked the Braxton.

Like the player. Like the player. Yeah. Yeah. I just liked the player, so I mean, I just kind of grabbed as far as that. But, Bryson Miller, really my favorite player. What was the question again?

And fuck, Braxton. We owe you on, Brad. Fuck it. No, Brackson is supposed to come to LSU. And my question was, who was your top five? I'm gonna say top five. Like, who you and Joe watching at LSU? Obviously, Charles was old.

Tyron was big. With you. All y'all, just mean, growing up watching y'all being, I grew up in Baton Rouge. I moved to Walker when I was like 11, 12. So, you mean, just being 20, 25 minutes right there, right down the street, I grew up watching all y'all. I mean, it's just a blessing to be able to be with you, right here with y'all right now. Just growing up watching y'all, I say, definitely y'all are the top, all were the top, a couple few for sure.

Yeah. How you like in Jacksonville, brook? It's cool, it's chill. I mean, it's a nice city, cool city. Nothing to do, probably, though. Ain't nothing to do, but, I mean, that's a good thing. That could be a good thing, too. It ain't really a lot of trouble to get in.

Yeah. But I like it, though. I'm a chill person. cool, so I mean, I'm a check. Yeah, I know this, but you got like, you got like the lame back to me you know what I'm saying? Yeah, I'm a chill person, so it's cool, it's cool for me. My next question would be, I know obviously, you know, I can say that as R.BU, R

receiver you, DVU, we everything you, D-Line U, O-Line, you, Derek Stenley, right? And I know you're on the same division. Same division. What is it going to be? What's it like? What is like going against a tiger like that? I mean, it feels good. Just know you're going against another LSU player.

I mean, I've been going against him since college. My first year, he was on his third year. And I remember my, I think my first rep was actually against him. And he kind of like jump jamming, trying to like, you know, kind of jump jamming. But I ended up getting off at it and winning the rep. But I mean, it's just great been able to go up against him in college. now I'm going up against him in the league. And he's playing at a high level right now.

So I mean, it's a great competition each and every time we play against each other. And I mean, it's just good to go up against. Yeah. Yeah. What can we expect from you guys this year? Hopefully, as a team overall. Hopefully, come out and I mean, do better than we did last year.

That's the main goal. Just to be better than we were last year, through all the little things that we feel like we missed out on or just take those opportunities that we felt like we missed out on just coming in and not missing out on this year. Cleaning up the offense, like year two going into it. We got a lot more knowledge about it, how he wanted things to look, how things are supposed to look, and whether like the passing game, running game, where are we supposed to be,

or when are we supposed to be there. I mean, I feel like we're going to come in and just me, do big things for sure. Man, listen, me watching, me looking at the roster and out here watching practice, I feel like y'all kind of had that feel with the team I was here, the 2017, we came shortening the EFC Championship. And I feel the culture is kind of, I feel that it's back. I feel like the coaches understand y'all players. It's a new regime around here.

You know, I see the new builders is fire. You know, when I was here, you know, we take this. We had, our meeting rooms had no windows. I was about to say that. It's all darkening there y'all. So at the stadium, no windows from nothing. Nothing. Like, jail.

Locked up. Who all like, who all do that? But I'm happy that I see everything's fresh, that you have the guys like yourself who can turn around a whole organization. Can you tell me how it's been like, what, are y'all probably like top three, top four youngest team? Well, I don't, we up there for sure.

Yeah. And how was that challenge? Knowing that y'all got a young team and y'all buy the goal in about a weekend and week out and fight for what y'all deserve? I mean, I feel like we got a young team, team, but I feel like we all, we all play a little ball together. Like, we had a good season last year. A lot of guys that we had last show, we brought a lot of them back, and we still got

a lot of them. So I feel like we play a lot of ball together. I mean, I feel like we're a young group, but I feel like we all got our heads on right and we all, like, focused and determine on what we want. Yeah. And where we want to go. So I feel like, I feel like we'll be good. I mean, I feel like we're just going to keep working and keep, keep growing the chemistry together. Yeah. B.T., what's the next step for you? Like, like, you know, going into this, this this year, like something you could take from last year. Is it winning more 50-50s? Is it, you know, what is it that you could take from last year

that you really want to set your sights on this year as becoming a better, you know, receiver, leader, whatever, you know, whatever this team needs? Really just making it, making it easy, the easy catches. Just locking in on the ball and really just, like you say, winning the 50-50s and really just being a better teammate, I would say. I would say that's my main goal, just being a better teammate and just locking in on the details, really, and just going out there and getting the best that I can be each and every day, each and every game. And just see how far it go from there.

Just push my teammates to be better, push my teammates to be the best that we can be, and just see how far we can go from that. Well, you say being a better teammate, you mean, as far as the vocal point, I mean, you're not a talk of those. I mean, some guys, they talk through their actions, which is, I understand, because I play with a little. you know, Mike Evans and Mike don't, Mike doesn't talk like that. But you can tell through his actions, you know, how you play, how you carry this stuff, how you practice. Yeah. Mike is going to be Mike.

Yeah. So it might, you know, I'm not saying, I'm a vocal point. You might not have to do that because that might not be you. But with crush time, crumb and, you know, like BT Mike, I got to curse the motherfucker out. Got to get out your character sometimes, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, no, I mean, really just, just like that, just whether it's not always vocalized, just going out there and doing it by my. my actions. But I've been trying to get like a little bit more vocal, whether it's helping the

younger guys out. Like when you came, man, you was helping me out. So I just trying to do like little stuff like that taking, taking the younger guys under my wing and just trying to like push them and trying to give them like little advice. Like I mean, like said, going into year two in the offense, we know how things are supposed to look and we know how coach wants things. So I mean, just trying to give them that, uh, that advice that they need to go out there and be the best that they can be. Yeah. It would have been crazy to see y'all too. playing on the same team. Not a fact.

And I just, I was just, I was really just saying that when I remembered I had this, I was talking about me and me and Jarvis got to be on the same team for a little bit. And then now, Malik and O on the same team up here. So yeah, that's cool. Yeah. I've been crazy. We definitely put our better numbers before I go. Ah, we're cut out.

No, but, you know, obviously, you know, seeing guys like your guy like Jets, you know, seeing Malik, you know, just our whole LSU boys, you know, cross-team. the league, right, seeing old back in, right? Like, you know, do you keep an eye on them weekend, week out? Obviously, me, Luke went down last year, but, you know, Jets been balling. You keep an eye on the weekend, week out, or what? My, for sure. Man, we're always competing. Yeah.

When he had a good game, I'm going to shake. May he's your hands, you know? Look, too crazy. Man, we all. You know, it's some funny shit. This funny shit is I remember playing in Miami, Odell's in New York, and we met out one offseason to train, which, like, no, like, normally doing. And I'm just having a conversation like this.

And I'm like, bro, the middle of the game, I'm always looking up at the scope. Yeah, always. Yeah, you got two. You got six for one, 20. I got three kids. Man, look, we need to get, what's y'all doing? Give me the rock, man.

I'm always, I'm trying to see how money he got. What are he doing today? Hope he ain't going too crazy. Bro, bro. How does it make you feel seeing him back? Obviously, you know, he's still working through his injury, but he looks healthy, you know, it looks healthy, you know, and it looks like he's on the right track.

How does it make you feel? seeing him out there. I mean, I had been talking to him. He had told me he was doing good or whatever and all that. But, I mean, that was just my first time actually seeing him, like, move around. Yeah, I was saying, I was just happy to see it when I saw it, just to see that he was out there back moving around, feeling good. So, yeah, I was really excited to see that. Yeah, you guys lost 18 from an offense perspective.

Hank, right? We know, let it know he could talk to this. You know, I know, too. Like, having a ring game, open everything up for a path. No, I'm saying. I'm like, you know, how are you guys playing on balance in there? You know, what a new back field, you know, essentially a new look going into year two, right? Some guys come back, but they're still new guys, you know.

So how do you guys plan on balance and that? I'm not that. That new back they drafted? He nice. Which one? Two? Yeah, too. Yeah.

Too nice. My face. Yes, he's nice. Like he's, when you said, young guys, I mean, drafted him last year. He's not a rookie no more. Got to step up. I mean, just come in and feel that role. I mean, he's played a lot of ball.

I mean, he knows what to do. I feel like he's going to come in and I feel like he's going to have a good season. He's going to do big things first. And I mean, we got Chris too. Yeah. Older guy, come in, he can help, help too not a little bit. And actually, he can go out, he can hoot too. So, yeah.

So, you know, you play with Kern, right? Yeah. You know, and you know, one of our LSU brothers, a young guy that I said the liking to tell, you know, offseason in Dallas, you know, us talking and things like that. Mm-hmm. if he was here, right? And I know it's you,

Malik, you know, where would he be in the bunch out of your tree? Because guess what? He was a hell of a player. No, back. I mean, we was all three. We was always all three together. I was our brother.

I mean, I've been knowing Congress since I was, like, I haven't been like 10, 11. Growing up playing A.U basketball with him, he was always, always joking, always funny. A great guy, loving guy. I mean, I miss him still to this day. I mean, I feel like he'll be right here with us. I mean, we all talked about and dreamed about this.

Like, in this moment, just being with each other and all making it into the league that all season. Actually, like a couple weeks before the haven't. I mean, man, I was just sitting. I was out there training in Dallas two together. We was just sitting out there. Like, we had finished training. And we were just sitting out there. I swear we stayed out there about an extra hour.

So we was just talking about how we was going to be in the league, He couldn't wait to get drafted. Just like, all a little thing like that. And I was giving them advice. Just like, I mean, little stuff like that. I mean, we talked about an hour or two. I mean, and just be missing those times like that. But, I mean, you know, yeah.

Yeah. What's your why? Uh, I mean, my why is just, I mean, my love for the game for show. But, uh, I mean, you got. I got partners, brothers, one of my closest cousins. It was just like my brother. Passed away. I mean, Karen, grandma, all that.

I mean, I wake up every day and just try to come out here and be the best that I can be for them. Because I know what they want me to do. And I mean, really just my love for the game, just coming out here each and every day. I mean, it's the sport I've been playing since I was five, six years old, just loving the sport. I mean, this is what I love to do.
