Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all,
embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

The volume.
Man, holidays are not good
for the Eagles this year, man.
Christmas Eve, now New Year's?
It's been rough, man.
It's been rough.
Been a tough going, man.
Back-to-back losses.
Y'all just gave me a second.
It was tough.
Man, I know y'all missed me last week, man,
because I knew y'all looking for the Cowboys game.
But it was Christmas, man.
I had to spend time with the family.
The family came down and saw me.
It would be no better feeling than clinching.
The playoff spot, right number one in C in Dallas Stadium, man.
I wanted to do that very bad.
Eagles fans, I knew y'all was very concerned about Jalen, man.
I hear a lot of going stuff going up and down around by my boy, Monshu, man.
Minshu played absolutely the best he can, did the best job he could do.
and he had us in a good time, you know,
a lot of positions to win the game, the Cowboys game.
I won't say completely the defense fault,
but we could have put him in better positions, man.
Him putting up 30 points, that's a big plus for us, you know.
We should have had, you know, play better on the defensive side of the ball.
You know, of course they had a couple of turnovers.
They wanted to turn around against us,
but we could have still won that game for him, you know.
Last week, tough for him.
It's just, you know, it's just different when you've been playing.
being a backup quarterback,
and you got a guy that's office is kind of built around him a little bit,
you know, Hertz.
It's a guy that's mobile.
You know, Hertz is accountable in the run game.
You know, with Minshu, he's not really accountable.
You know, Mitchie got a little bit of speed, but not crazy speed.
He can't run away from nobody.
But, you know, with him doing that, make him, you know, dropback guy.
And right now, our offense can be a dropback guy.
Or you could be a, you know, run quarterback option guy.
You know, that's what the, you know, the perks are having Jalen Hertz.
You know, so he did the best he could, man.
I got to command him, man,
and step in there like that and going to get some top defenses,
the Saints' defense is top rank and the Cowboys' Defense is the top rank.
So he stepped in there pretty well, man.
We got to do better on our side to try to get him more chances to get the ball.
I only think between those two games, we're going to have two turnovers.
And that's not enough.
Definitely would be pride ourselves on turning the ball over.
So we got to do better with help with him, get situated,
get him in a better situation, making a shorter feel for him.
So it's a team effort.
So don't never always blame the quarterback guys.
Now let's get into this Saints game.
By far, the worst half of football we have played as a group, as a collective, as a one.
Office didn't score any points.
Never been happening.
We gave up too much points.
13 in the first half.
That's not us.
Shoot, we went out there on defense first drive.
I think they took 10 minutes off the clock.
you know what I'm saying running the ball
you know doing anything you know
and scored off that and then you know the office
came back out there with a three and out
we back out there again that's not it
that's not winning football
the same defense was just really that good man
I ain't gonna lie man I like a lot of guys over there
Marchion Tyran
Cam Jordan like they got a great
linebacker that leads the way
man they got guys over there that's really all
pros and pro bowl type of players we do too
as well you know what I'm saying so we finally
just broke a franchise record with the
Most sacks ever, you know, in the Eagles history.
So, um, them guys go crazy up front, man.
Those guys go after, we got four guys over 10 sacks.
That's amazing.
That's pretty damn amazing.
But we got to do more.
I sure coach don't go get that straightened out, man, because I know one thing about
coach, man, he put all his, he holds himself accountable, man.
He'll be a guy that comes to the media and tell y'all that, you know, what was his
fault and what wasn't.
But he's a guy that takes a lot on the chin.
I'm a guy like that as myself.
We do the same thing.
We got a lot in common, like a lot, lot in common.
Your boy had a big matchup, man, this week with the rookie, man, from Ohio State, man.
Chris Olive, I love his game.
So I was ready for the matchups, a good speed guy.
He's just coming off the handstream.
So I'm like, okay, man, you know, maybe not be fully healthy, but he was healthy.
First played the game, they came straight at your boy.
You know, they didn't even let me get comfortable.
Ran a little fake over route.
I was going to beat him over there to the over.
He came back out.
Good round by the young kid.
man, I can tell they've been watching film and watching me, you know, do what I do.
So I made a good little adjustment, you know what I'm saying?
But I was kind of shot, you know, they got me on my heels a little early.
I said, okay, okay, I like that.
You know, I like that a team challenged me early.
They did a little thing.
They had a buddy cadence.
They seen that I like to play off when I get two receivers to my side.
So I saw the number one guy motion away so they know I'm going to stay off.
So it makes me as a soft corner.
they knew they got to have a good game plan.
That's why I kind of switched it up.
I talked to coach the side line.
Like, coach, man, this is what they doing to me right now.
I see it happening.
They want me to keep playing off man a lot and not let me get down in the press of left.
But we changed the game plan going into the second half, man.
We got a lot of press work.
And I think we did a great job of shutting 12 down, man.
You know, he's a very talented kid, man.
He's going to be a thousand-yard receiver as a rookie.
And that's big ups to him, man.
He's a good dude, man.
And I heard he were the best agency in the world, you know, with the Rosenhaus.
So he a brother of mine, you know, so it's good, man.
I was shocked, though, but then again, it got my game going, got me more involved in the game, though, early.
As you see right now, man, we are starting to get a little bang up.
That's what happens with a long season.
You know, they added an extra game as well.
That extra game takes a toll on us, man, you know, so, but that's what the part of the game was.
That's what we sign up for.
Engines do happen.
But as a team and as a leader in our room and a leader in the team,
we always believe the next man up.
Of course.
Of course,
Lane Johnson is arguably the best tackle in the game.
Him and Trent Williams.
They're the best tackles.
It's kind of hard to sit here and say, A,
be Lane Johnson.
You know, that's tough.
But you've got to have the next man up mentality, man.
We never decreased our game.
We've got to always stay above.
You know, they're making big plays.
You know, Vante Maness went down last week against Dallas Cowboys.
You know, Josiah's Sky's.
Scott came in.
You know, he didn't play as well as he need to, but he's played, but he bounced back this
week.
Got a pick.
Played an absolute shutout game, man.
Josiah really answered the bell, man.
We was with him.
You know, we had a tough game.
We was with him the whole time, man.
We said and told you, bro, we believe in you.
We trust in you.
And he came out here this week and executed, man.
Made a great play going into the half.
They just got the ball back.
Just feeling like they're going to get three.
Could have went up 16-0.
But Josiah come down with the pick going at 13-0, man.
Defense made a bit stand.
That's why I say, bro, we believe in the next man up.
And we don't lose focus.
We don't lose focus if we always believe the next guy can get the job done, man.
So we're not going to too many word by injuries, but we do want guys to be healthy.
But next man mentality, man, we got to win because the gang will keep going.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.

Hey, I'm Jared Adano. You might know me as that loud guy who yells out, help on the internet.
Somebody, please!
But there's so much more to me than that.
I'm an actor.
I'm a comedian, and recently I've become quite the helper myself.
And on my new podcast, Hope from a Hypocrite, I'll be changing lives,
helping people in need with my sage advice and thoughtful solutions.
Sike! I'm a comedian!
I'm not qualified to give good advice.
Join me and my comedian friends as we riff rant
and recommend some of the most legally dubious advice known to man.
If I'm calling you, even if you're on your phone, let it ring twice.
One ring is too scary.
Oh, cream of chicken suit.
Hey, cream.
Cream a chicken suit.
This is Help from a Hypocrat, the worst advice from the dumbest people you know.
Listen to Help from Hypocrite as part of the Mike Coutura Podcast Network available on the I-Hart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
And let's get back to this extra game, NFL, that y'all want to put.
on us. Like, come
on, man. It's already bad that y'all
don't want everybody to have
grass fields. We play on
turf sometimes. God,
Lee, we already be, come on now,
extra game? I'm cool
with an extra little paycheck, but that
paycheck ain't worth my body.
You know what I'm saying? I'm already going through a lot
with these six teams we did have to play.
Y'all need to go and make another adjustment here.
We need two biweeks then.
Come on now. Like, let's, hey,
let's work together now. You know,
Trade for a trade.
We give you all extra game?
Give us the extra bye week.
Y'all just don't know how important this by week be for us.
You know, the veteran guys take days off.
The younger guys get to learn.
You know, because a lot of young guys, if y'all been in the NFL stadium,
I mean, not the stadium.
If y'all been in the NFL locker room, practice, anything,
the older guys kind of get the reps because we're the ones that's kind of playing.
All the guys that kind of start gets a lot of reps.
The younger guys be the scout guys.
So when on the biweek, the roles we switch.
the older guys become a scout guys
for the guys that's not starting so now the guys
get better look so now they can prepare to be ready
for a Sunday game just in case
a guy goes down during the game
but with us just having one week
it's okay they get a learning experience
but picture of them having
two weeks of learning experience
now they'd be more confident more
able to be no get their trust in the game
an NFL it benefits
y'all too you get healthier
players you get to talk about
more of the game get more broadcasting
you know, it's beneficial
for both us. Let's work together
guys. Come on. It was your
boy, Big Play Slade birthday.
Yes. Yes, I'm a New Year's
baby. You know, as you
could tell, I kind of match my personality as
my birthday. It's kind of crazy, right? I know it goes
together. It's crazy. Joky, funny, laughing.
It's like a good name for New Year's. But,
man, it was crazy.
You know, I was saying, me being 32.
You know, I'm trying to go to sleep
for my game, right?
I get a hundred texts
I had to put my phone on
Do Not Disturb at 12 o'clock
Because everybody was calling me
FaceTiming me
But I had to be like a professional
I said hey y'all
I do have a game
You know y'all y'all can call me after the game
But I do love the attention man
I do love the fact that I didn't know
Everybody was willing to call me for my birthday
And get stuff good
Stick it stuff good for me
But after the game
Shout out to the wife
She had you know
Decorated a house from me
Came in there with a lot of surprise
and she know I'm a big Dior fan.
She had a nice little Dior bat.
She kind of tricked me a little bit.
I thought she threw some money in there.
But it was money that I can kind of like eat cake.
I was like, okay, it was nice.
It was a nice bag, man.
It was a nice little Dior bag, man.
It was a smooth gift for me, man.
That was big time from the wife, man.
She got real creative, man, because, you know, a guy like me who's making all kinds of money,
like, what can you do for me?
That's the question that I know a lot of NFL wise and girlfriends think about,
Like you got everything going for you.
What can you possibly do for me to make me?
That's the kind of stuff that kind of steps out, man.
Going out your kindness and your heart.
Bringing your family, your friends around and decorating the house.
Doing a little small things.
And man, really the small things, a bit things for us in this kind of lead.
Because we can buy whatever.
We just want to see what kind of like y'all can be like, you know, make us laugh.
Make us put a smile on our face, man.
And one thing my wife knows how to do is put a smile on my face, man.
And she did it the best way she can, man.
I'm proud of her.
Uh, salute to her too, man.
Miss Slay.
Week 18
We got the New York Giants coming in
After they just clinch a playoff spot
And so long
That's a shout out to them boys, man
It's always good to see if teams make the playoffs
Man, they've been the changed team
But they come into our house
Sunday for the division
It's going to be around the game
It's got to be fans, we're going to need you
I know there's been a lot of questions
About this week's coming up, man
Is Jalen playing?
Is Jailen playing?
plan. Well, I don't know. You know what I'm saying? I believe in Mishu. I believe in Jailen.
So whoever comes up if we're ready to go, I'm ready to go. You know, I'm a guy I can't give
y'all the game plan. I'm just telling you all, man. I want to be bigger. We go keep all that
stuff in-house. We call it in-house. You know, if J-Lan play, we're ready for, if Mishu played,
we're ready. It's a chess game. We can't give our opponents the opportunity to really
game plan for just Jalen. They got to be ready for both of them. So we don't really know,
really technically I really don't know I wish I truly did but I don't we're not a nervous team either
we're ready for this man we're always ready for this kind of moment man we always just preach
about this each and every day one thing coach do is preach to them man adversely adversely adversely
adversely adversely adverse to go hit all during the year it hits during the game it hits doing the
meetings it hit doing all kind of time man and this is time for adversity to hit we got to answer
the bell man we're not nervous because we've been in this position before we just got to go to
execute and play our game play our brand of football man man
Eagles football.
We got to get back to doing what we like to do,
and that's turning the ball over and scoring points.
So that's what we're looking forward to happening.
This Sunday, man, is getting the ball to the offense
and the offense scoring points,
and we play the team ball, collective team ball,
because that's what we win games.
Team ball, not one side win the game,
the team win the game.
So all phases from special teams, defense to offense.
We got to execute at a high, high level to win this game.
Because if we don't, we see what happened.
We see the results.
We lose back-to-back games.
We don't like that feeling.
So we go out to execute at a high level, man,
be very detailed on our stuff, man, on our craft.
And that's one thing I'm going to be doing this week, man,
being very, very detailed on my crowd
because I've got to be a better player for this team
because I like to win.
And whatever I got to do to win, I'm going to do it.
All right, man, that's what I got for y'all, man.
I see y'all this week, man, against the Giants.
After the Giants game, I'm hoping I come back
to talk to y'all about a nice dub and a bi-week.
But, man, it will be a lot to talk about this week, man.
It's a big week for us, man.
Tune in.
Make sure y'all don't miss this episode.
now. This episode will be great.
