Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

The volume.
What's up, everybody, man?
It's your boy, Big Play Slay here.
And I'm back, as I say I would.
Of course, I wish I was coming back six.
No, but we're coming back five and one.
So we're feeling good, though.
But right now, man, the Philly game's on, man, right now.
Shout out to them boys, man.
They just beat the Braves right now.
And they're going crazy.
As we watched, y'all saw my boy Bryce Hopper, man.
Another one out the park.
I'm talking about the new smack dick.
That's what they do, man.
Philly sports is crazy.
Philly sports is very, very crazy, man.
Shout out to the Phillies, man.
Y'all keep doing your thing, man.
Of course, y'all got the Eagle support, man.
In the whole city, we were behind y'all.
Ten toes down, man.
Let's go, Phillies.
But let's get into this week, man.
This week, been a great, great week.
I must say for myself, man, I'm doing good.
I know y'all been missing the fact that I ain't played this week.
I know I know y'all want to know why I didn't.
I had to take care of situation.
I take care of the body.
You know, I wasn't feeling 100, so I took care of the body.
But I will be back very, very soon, maybe sooner than you think.
But we're working, man.
As always, man, I'm looking forward to it, man, to get back out there with my guys
and try to get these dubs.
You know what I'm saying?
Right now we 5 and 1 still in the top of our division.
And y'all should know the NFL is not easy.
It's hard to win out here.
It's very, very hard, man.
A lot of teams right now at 5'1 sitting pretty.
But we got to bounce back for sure.
and we got a great answer to it, man, with a tough opponent coming in this week.
So we're looking forward to that.
So let's get into this game, man.
Let's start off with some good, some real good, man.
Let's talk about the defense.
Overall, defense played amazing.
And what I'm going to say why they played amazing is because we had a lot of young guys in the game, man.
A lot of guys that kept their composure, played smooth, play fast, did their assignment.
The best way they can.
It was amazing to watch a lot of young guys come in the game, man, definitely in that secondary.
because, you know, we're a little beat up right now.
You know, all the persons that only got
real true, true experience back there in our defense is
James Bradbury, aka J.B.
We got Ghost, aka Re-Blankenship.
You know what I'm saying?
So we got guys that's playing back there
with a lot of guys that ain't no experience.
I'm talking about young, young guys.
I'm talking about very, very young rookies.
My boy Josh Job, man.
He replaced me this week, man.
He did an amazing job.
I must say, he did an amazing job.
Of course, he got two.
DPI's.
You know, they was DPI's.
I'm a D.B.
I'm fair.
He hold them on both plays.
But overall game, man,
playing against some talent and receiver.
Because the Wilson kid is pretty good, man.
Young dude, electrifying, can run routes.
Great dude, man.
Great receiver, man.
He'll be a star in his lead in the making.
He made a couple of plays on him.
J.B. made some plays on him as well.
But Josh Joe made a couple plays on him.
I watched the film, man.
Josh Joe was getting hands on, getting vertical.
He was doing great, man.
Definitely in his press.
technique, man.
So he did this great job stepping up real big for my position.
You know, it's a tough position, y'all.
And for a guy like Josh Joe to come in, undrafted rookie, to come out there and go against
a top 15 draft pick, one of the young stars coming up in his lead as a receiver and hold
his own, got to tip your hat off to him.
Because this game is tough, man.
Like I said, quarterback is the hardest position to play.
Ask your mama.
Hardest position in the NFL, way harder than quarterback.
I'm saying it's harder than quarterback.
Because the quarterback got all the protection, get all this.
He knows where to go with the ball sometime before he even know, like the defense,
like all that kind of great stuff.
They got everything going for him.
That's why Tom Brady was getting the ball out fast.
He knows all kinds of crazy stuff.
But the corner, you out there on the island, baby.
Them things hard, man.
So shout out to Josh Joe, man.
He stepped up big, man.
We know we trust you and depend on you.
You'll keep doing your thing.
I love the fact that how them guys stepped up, made plays,
and executed their assignment at the best of their ability.
getting too much work from it, not too much training in practice.
Because if you've been in the NFL practice, a lot of but the ones really get a lot of the
reps.
Tools be really the scout team player for the offense.
So tools don't get too many reps.
So that's what's be hard because guys always got to stay ready.
That's why the biggest saying in the NFL is, stay ready.
So you don't got to get ready.
And if you suit up, get ready to play.
Because you don't never know when your time is going to be called.
And it's time for you to go out there.
You got to be ready to execute your job at a high level.
You get paid big bucks to get.
the job done, don't matter how much practice you get. So that's what, that's the worst part about
the NFL because you got to always stay ready without practicing. But with the pay, you got to take
that chance. I don't know about y'all, but I'm going to take that chance every time. You know,
but other than that, defense play good. Let's get to Hassan Reddick. I told y'all he'll get the cooking.
I've been telling him he'll get the cooking. Right now, he had five and a half sacks right now.
I'm talking about unblockable. D-line's unblockable, period. I think he's,
We had, what, maybe five or six sacks total, a couple hits, a couple pressures.
And I got to give respect because I like this kid.
I like this kid, Zach Wilson, man.
Everybody be talking down on them.
Everybody don't got no belief in them.
Everybody got all they say so about Zach Wilson.
I think he played a smooth controlling game, the game that he needed to play,
didn't turn the ball over as you want your quarterback not to do.
He did a great job.
Like smooth, you know what I'm saying?
Of course we could have made a couple of plays on the ball, but we didn't.
So kept his team in the game.
drove his team down, getting field goals, getting great field positions, and he does his job.
Like he did what he needs to do to win that game, man.
And everybody keeps talking crazy about that doggone last touchdown.
We really let them score on purpose so we could have time for the offense to have time to have time to go down there to score.
They keep their two timeouts, not to waste the two timeouts.
Because if you say you take a timeout after the first run, we stop them, timeout, boom.
Probably going to say you a minute, 37 seconds.
boom, run another play, probably like a minute, 30 left, then boom, we got no more timeouts left.
So picture if they want to run again, now 40 seconds off the clock, now I got down to like
maybe a minute.
You never know, you know, or they might have passed it, never know.
But in that position, they was only down to, they got to kick the field go and be up on
without putting the wrist of having Zach Wilson, you know, messing up the game from him because
he was playing a great game.
So why put him in the position to mess it up?
So they did a great job with that.
And we did a great job by letting them score.
So our offense got a chance to go down there and make points.
But overall, defensively, I gave us a solid grade.
I think we could have turned the ball over a little bit more,
because that's what we want to do.
We want to be a turnover defense.
But overall, great game.
We got to play better to help the offense get better position,
field position, and everything else.
But great game, man.
So I got to give my defense a good A.
You know, I would say A plus and all that kind of stuff,
but we didn't turn the ball over enough.
So I give him an A.
Let's get into the offense.
The offense did great, man.
Let's get into my boy Jalen, man, with the leader of our team.
Great plan, man.
Of course, he had the turnovers.
But overall, Jalen game was smooth, man.
Made a lot of great throws, a lot of great catches, man.
But what was tricky to me, I'm just being honest.
Fourth and goal.
That fourth and goal play on a line with Hersch's just sticking the ball out,
all kind of mess, because that's what we talk now.
We talk this.
Third down, you don't reach the ball out.
fourth down, you reach the ball out.
So he's doing what he's talked to do.
So I don't know if he fumbled on purpose
to let the ball roll into the end zone
or however to play look.
But the play looked crazy,
but I'm glad we got the seven for it.
But boy, look at here.
I thought it hurts, low key,
just handing the ball off to him in the end zone.
Like, huh, get the ball, touchdown.
I don't know.
But I'm thankful we got the tub forward.
I don't know how it went,
but it was good for us because, boy,
that play was crazy.
I was like, oh, that day.
I thought you'd done pass the ball off or something,
but they reviewed it.
Say he didn't.
I just know we got the touchdown.
So that's all I care about, man.
But that play was a little tricky,
that boy, I was like,
woo-wee.
So let's get into the bad about the game.
It's not really contently bad
because every bad experience
is a learning experience, man.
You learn from it, you get better from it.
So we not just go ignore the apples and stuff.
Of course, Jaylen through three picks.
Man, it's a nationally football league, man.
Some of the best athletes in the world
playing this game, man.
at a high, high level, man.
He's not perfect.
He's not Superman, but best believe, man.
He do attack the field like he is.
It was tough for him, man.
I know how he is, man.
He got a strong-minded kid, man,
that really drive and loves the win, man.
He built on win.
He built on all that great stuff about a leader, you know,
but the third pitch, like, learn from it, man.
I watch it from the sideline.
A play get called.
I can tell, you know,
some stuff looked like it need to be match with tech.
Some stuff didn't look like it need to be match for tech.
So he had some time.
The one, he threw a pick on with a dude hit his shoulder.
it was a lot of deep routes going on.
But like, you know, that's like a play action kind of stuff for me.
To me, that looked like a push-have-upin-a-play action pass,
have extra blocks in there and let the routes develop downfield.
They got a great D-line over at the Jets.
So, you know, you give a little chip here, chip there,
so there's no chip with loan development rocks.
Leave a lot of guys one-on-one on the island by themselves.
And that's a tough job to do with a guy that's 240 pounds running out of the tackle.
that's backing up backwards.
And still, you know, with their momentum going back,
guy can run them over, do all kinds of stuff,
do your kind of moves to him and get to the quarterback.
So he got to the quarterback, hit J-Lon to wait until that route,
develop.
If you watch the play, Smitty was getting open,
but the rush got there fast enough, man, hit his arm,
tip the ball up.
That's their big play.
So that's what I de-line do.
They get back there.
I'd call a couple of picks like that before.
It just happens, man.
You know, boss off Dallas leg.
You know, people just make.
making plays. You know, they D-Line made plays. You see, the D-Line calls the pick.
A D-L-A-L-T, so people just making great plays, man. These guys get paid in the NFL, too.
So it happens. And the offense took a big, big loss, man. With Lane going out,
Lane Johnson, arguably the best tackle in the league, future Hall of Famer, like, very gifted,
very athletic. Like, he's one of the best to ever do it. Really talk, like real, real talk, man.
He really wanted the best to do it. A guy like that goes down, that's a tough shoot-of-field.
like very, very tough.
Don't care who you is.
You could be a top five pick, top two pig.
You could be whatever you want to be.
Lane Johnson is one of the best that he'll ever do it.
He's going to the Hall of Fame, all pros, all across the board, pro bowl player, everything,
and give up a sack in how long?
I think, dang it, three years.
Like, that's tough to do.
Like, he's on a record right now for, like, no sats giving.
And even Madden right now, got to make him a 99 because,
ain't nobody better than him.
And I can't just let this slide either.
Because I hold this dude to a high, high standard, man.
I know he owed itself to a high standard.
So Smitty, I was surprised.
I almost cried for you.
I cried for you.
I ain't going to lie.
I cried because it just hurt my heart to see you do it.
Like, I ain't never seen you drop a pass like that in my life, in my life.
And if you saw his report, he holds himself accountable
by that high level because he know what he's capable of doing.
He know he made the bedtime catches at all times.
I know y'all have been seeing his highlights.
Y'all watch YouTube.
Go check his highlight.
out. When I ball in there, that ball caught. And this time this week, you know, he had two big
drops. That's it. Just too long. Now, I ain't used to it, Smitty. We can't get comfortable with that. I know
you ain't. I know you ain't. As you saw in the media, Smitty hold himself to that high standard.
He told y'all what he got to do. Catch the fucking ball. And that's what he got to do, man.
He had two big time plays he could have made, could have changed the game dramatically.
But, you know, people mess up. I ain't perfect. He ain't perfect. But what we can do is go to practice,
correct it, work on it, hit the job machines.
You know, if he need me to help contest him,
so he could get the, you know, the contest feeling.
Whatever he need to do, I'm here to help him.
So we'll come in this week, get better.
Definitely during this week of practice, man.
Got a big-time game coming up Sunday night.
So I know what Smitty go do, man.
Smitty go put on the show.
That's what Smitty does.
He's one of the best in the league,
and I'm here for him.
After that tough loss we took,
came into the locker room.
A lot of guys looked their stuff in the mirror
and understand that we didn't play to the standard that we should,
as a Philadelphia Eagles should.
We did not as a whole from the top to bottom from everywhere.
But we had guys in the room, man.
We got great leaders that came in there and spoke for.
You know, we got Hassan, A.J., Smitty Talk, Hertz Talk,
gave a team a good speech, man.
So that's why Coach ain't really had to say now.
We already knew what Coach was going to say.
We didn't play us to our Eagle standard.
And we got to go out there execute better.
Everybody get paid to do their job.
It ain't about a losing.
It's just how we lost.
It was not clean enough for us as a team.
We knew it wasn't.
So guys really came in there and just stepped up and talked about it
their self and not even let coach address it.
So that's what you call great leaders, man.
We take accountability at a high level and we depend on everybody in our room on
this team and his organization.
So you need guys like this, man.
This is what build character in the team.
And, you know,
it's always good to see your players talk and understand where your players is coming from.
So we're all on the same page from the head coach.
from the GM to everybody that that went our best game,
that's not our best look.
And from my point of view, man, what I told the team is,
hey, bro, keep your head up.
It's only one game.
I think we got 11 more.
Let's keep, man.
Let's keep working, man.
Keep putting our foot forward.
Like, the last team that went 16 and 0, they lost the Super Bowl.
So there's no point about it.
So let's go out here, execute and play hard, man.
So that's what I told the guys, man,
because, like I said, it's a kid's game.
I love this game.
It's win, lose, a draw.
and you only go be on them three foot,
into them three shoes.
So at the end of the day,
we could go out there,
have fun, enjoy this game,
because this game ain't forever.
So you got to have fun and enjoy it while you can,
but at sometimes, of course,
it's a serious moment.
That was a serious moment,
but I had to remind guys that,
hey, it's only one game, baby.
We're good, we good.
We good.
So it's a great feeling, man.
Got out the way.
Pressure ain't too much owners no more
as being six and over.
and O being this undefeated team.
Now we can just go play ball, man.
It just and do our thing.
Because every time you look at it,
if you're 6 and 0, you got a target in your back.
Even though we like the target,
but everybody waiting for the downfall.
Great thing about it is that I want the last game of the year.
So guess what we can do?
Go out here and fix it on Sunday.
So next game, man, Sunday night football.
Another primetime game.
Against who?
The Dolphins.
One of the best offense in the league right now.
I'm talking about.
they doing stuff that's setting records.
You got cheetah on a pace to break
Calvin Johnson record as a receiver.
Like, it's going crazy over them guys.
I mean, they're playing at a high, high level tour.
Gotham has my MVP candidate.
Tariq Hill.
He's one of my MVP candidates that's non-quarterback.
He's probably the most important player on a team
or in the NFL that's a non-quarterback right now.
He is playing at an absolute crazy level right now.
Everybody was always asking, how will he be without?
Packed Mahomes. And y'all seeing it now.
Y'all are seeing it now.
And I'm talking my back-to-back great season right now, he's having definitely this season.
He's having historical numbers going on.
The whole offense here, got a great head coach that with a great offense of mine.
And I love their head coach swag, man.
He'd be coming out with all with the fresh jays, the off whites.
He's probably the most funniest dude at the podium.
If y'all are watching his podium appearance, it's the funniest, man.
I love him.
I love him as a head coach, man.
He's a funny dude.
We did joint practice with them last year, man.
He was a funny dude.
Funny, funny dude.
He interact with both sides of the team, man.
We're talking ball.
Like, he's a great coach, man.
So I can understand why them guys play hard for him, man,
because he do a great job with coaching them
and letting them be free as players.
Because if I did a backflip in the end zone,
maybe my coach would love it too.
I ain't going to lie.
My coach loved that celebration and type that stuff too.
But any other place, they probably have been going crazy.
Head coach and I don't be mad.
But they coach don't get mad about that.
stuff because they lit over there because Tari keep doing it. And I know we go against this week.
I'm not hyping them up. But the celebrations he be coming up with, I got to give him an A plus.
The backflit with the phone, that's an A plus. I would never thought of doing that. That's amazing.
But with the NFL trying to find him for that, come on NFL. It's not that serious. It really not
that serious. It's not promoting no kind of violence. It's not doing nothing. The man is just
showing off his talent. That's one of the things he could do is flip very good.
obviously you can tell.
He's just showing his personality,
letting his personality swag, man.
He's using everything he got, man.
He's a great dude in the media.
He's been doing great stuff off the field or on the field,
but man, he has some great celebration, man.
But we cannot have that going on in the link.
We can't have it.
We can't.
So, but shout out to them guys, man.
That's gonna be a tough matchup for our defense as well,
man, one of the best office in the league,
very tricky, very motion.
You got a lot of great guys around that.
Wado is one of the best, running back fast.
Everybody on that fast.
They got, might be the fastest team with a four by one out there.
We might be second because we got some guys on this and we can run too, but
mm-hmm, some boys fast.
I'm talking my fast, fast.
All along was on college track team, but we're looking forward to the challenge.
Looking forward to it, man.
It'll be a great show.

Question number one, what is my welcome to the NFL moment?
I got some good one.
My first player of my NFL career in 2013,
Adrian Peterson coming off his ACL
and the first player of the game,
Detroit Lions, Minnesota at home,
he runs at 80-yard touchdown
and I was the first person he saw
and shook me out of my clothes.
Though right out of his angles and missed,
I'm talking about me,
came through the whole clean.
POP-p-pop!
80-yard's tug.
Question number two,
who is the most fun player to be around?
Y'all know who my guy is.
Avanti Matt.
that is my dude i hang with him every day often we hang onto my gaming golfing we do it all together man
that's my dude uh he was in detroit i was a young dude in detroit he looked at me as a corner
because he's from detroit so me and vion me and fonte got great history that is my guy it's my guy
i'd be around with every day question number three who's my favorite player of all time
and who I'm in my game after.
Well, I got like two answers to that.
My favorite player at all time is Dionne Sanders.
That's one of my goats, man.
Him or Champ Bailey for sure is one of my goats at that position.
I love watching them.
But the guy who made me want to play corner,
I love the dude, got my long-slee swag from,
the one sleeve.
My guy Joe Hayden.
I watched his film since high school,
since he was a high school kid all the way through Florida,
all everywhere.
He was my favorite corner.
That's the first jersey I got when I got to the lead.
That's the first once I traded jersey with Joe Hayden, man.
Shout out to my boy Joe, man.
We are great, great friends, man.
Been a friend since I got into the lead.
So this is an 11-year friendship that I got with my guy Joe Hayd, man.
He's one of my role models at the corner position that I watch and learn from.
I got my swag from.
I wore 23 because he wore 23 when I was in Detroit.
So that's where I got her from, man.
That's why I got the swag from being a corner.
And that's why I played corner, man.
shout out to my boy Joe Hayden.
Well, that's all the questions I got for y'all, man.
I thank y'all for writing the question.
Make sure you leave them in the comments.
I will get to them.
Thanks for watching.

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
