Starting point is 00:00:41 We're two best friends, 22 years apart, but so close at heart. And I'm Lisa DiGulio, the old one, which means we have wildly different references, occasionally different opinions, and at this point in my 50s, I've lived it all.
Starting point is 00:00:53 Now in my 30s, being the founder of new shoes, good taste is my business. Listen on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Lacey Moseley, author, actor, stand-up comedian, creator, and host of Scam Goddess Podcast.
Starting point is 00:01:11 The True Crime Comedy Podcasts, all about robbery, fraud, and those who practice it. Each week, I bring on an amazing guest. Ooh, I scammed them. What? I can talk to you for an hour. You're a generational yapper like me. That's why I had to make yapping a job. And now you can catch full episodes of my show on YouTube.
Starting point is 00:01:28 Start listening to Scam Goddess on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your pocket. I'm Hamza. And I'm Martin. And we're the hosts of Out of Character. The best podcast in the world is that what they said. Wait, they said that? Yeah, yeah, they said that.
Starting point is 00:01:44 The best podcast with two best friends who jabber and talk about topical, trendy, funny stuff, give our input on it. That's what you've needed, I think, up until now, listener. Listen out of character on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Sometimes I just feel like a burden. You're a bird. You fly. You're a Martin. And we are Out of Character Podcast.
Starting point is 00:02:04 Dude, he messed up the clip. So then what's next? We're bringing our luncheon because we didn't have time to eat. Hey, do you mind if I just have this tuna fish sandwich here while we have this job interview? No, it's a gateway. It's a gateway to other things. We're not bringing in sandwiches. We're not bringing in lunch.
Starting point is 00:02:19 It sends the signal that you're not taking it seriously. And if I'm your employer and you've had employees and I've had employees and you come waltzing in with an ice coffee, not getting the job. Welcome everybody to the Calm Down podcast. What's that face for? I don't know what's going on back there. Oh. For those of you just listening to the podcast, Aaron was combing the back of her hair with her hand. Fingernail.
Starting point is 00:02:46 Your hair looks great, though. Thanks, Wella. Wella. Wella products. I'm into our girl, Nikki, and her products. My hair has never been. Hello, weller. Well, yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:56 Well, I got to tell you something. So many different things we could talk about with that. But yeah, we've, for those of you that are familiar with our hair journey conversation. We've had problems in the past, but now we are well on our way. Wella on our way. Too healthy our hair. With all of that, we welcome you to the Calm Down podcast. And we would like to start the podcast today by making an announcement that we have a new home.
Starting point is 00:03:24 Aaron has moved into a new home. I'm redoing my home. It's been hell. And the podcast is now on a new platform. And we are so excited. The volume is. our new company that we have aligned with for a number of different reasons. I want to shout out Colin, who founded this network, Colin Coward, that is. I've had the privilege of working with
Starting point is 00:03:47 Colin at ESPN and also at Fox for a couple years on Fox NFL kickoff. And he's such an incredible businessman. And I just adore that individual. And so when he started this podcast company a few years back, I was like, wow, like, of course you are. He's like always doing something. And everything he does, I eventually catch up to like years later. So I'm really excited to be joining the podcast company that is Collins. And I know Aaron and I are excited to call this our new home. Yeah, look forward to it. And away we go, right? We're doing some fun things coming up that we'll let you guys know about. I got an email. I'm sending off to the volume right after this. So look out for that guys with some ideas. All right, you want to get to some pregame question?
Starting point is 00:04:30 pump up the volume. That is, so there's really nothing new to report other than we're just excited for our new platform. That is, that said, we still have a new, we have, it's a new but old segment. We used to call it the pregame. We're now calling it post game because this comes out on Thursday. So with that, these are our post game questions, viewers and listeners write in some stuff. And we love talking about it. So here we go.
Starting point is 00:04:57 Strosi, how do you find actual supportive? I'm so sorry, I've probably butchered that. What's new? How do you find actual supportive female friends? So many are fake. You want to start? When we start? I think it takes time.
Starting point is 00:05:14 I feel like that's been a common theme amongst our friend group lately, which I love our friend group. We had a big text going today with a bunch of people, and I just wanted to write on there. I love this group. No, I look, I'm 40, well into my 40s, and I think it's taken some time to find a good friend group.
Starting point is 00:05:34 You go through different stages and phases in your life. You're in certain places, but I touched on it last week. We've got this really great girl group going right now and some hilarious text messages. Actually, Dean was sitting next to me when I was texting you gals. And he goes, I would love to be in this group chat. And I said, well, you may want to meet us out for drinks before that game in December. But no, it just, I think it takes time. I think it takes time.
Starting point is 00:06:02 And it takes a lot of weeding out. And a lot of, I think conversations with yourself, does this friendship serve me? Is this what I need right now? Is this working out for me? So I'm very grateful for the very small circle I have. I've got a great group with you and Kelly and Brittany and Taylor. And then I've got a great group of my hockey girls with Jackie and Megan and Heather. So yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:26 Yeah, I would, I echo all of those same sentiments. And I would just say as I've gotten older, I very much value the girlfriends that I've had since high school. Some of my closest friends are friends that I've had for, oh God, 25 years at this point. But I also love where my friendships has evolved in terms of as I've gotten older and various different individuals and friends that challenge me in different ways. Like there's some friends that are like my fun, I know I'm going to go and rip it and have a great time with them, party friends. And then there's also friends that challenge me intellectually. And the dinner parties, like, I always long to, like, be a part of, like, a dinner
Starting point is 00:07:06 party group where I could have, like, yeah, like these conversations. And I've found myself more and more doing that and having such a, like, interesting, like, I don't know, like cross, I don't know, cross pollination of friends that, like, I didn't know that they all, like, everyone knew each other and then we end up together. I don't know. I just think that there is a lot to be. about those female relationships. And as far as some of them being fake, yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:30 But you'll find out. And that's the part where it's, you know, a little bit of, I used to be very trusting. I would just like let everybody in. And now I've become more selective. And I find that in doing that, the value or the quality of the friendship is a lot greater instead of just throwing out a wide net and being like, I just love everyone.
Starting point is 00:07:50 It's like, no, I don't love everyone. But I am grateful for those friendships that I have. Yep. Next. Um, Kohler, Cindy, Kohler Lodge, how are Krista and Steve's commitment ceremony planning coming along? I haven't gotten my save the date yet. It's not happening. Well, I mean, it is happening.
Starting point is 00:08:07 I'm sure. I just, I, the backstory on this is after going to the royal wedding this summer and being around some other friends that have incredible relationships, Steve and I are open to the idea of doing something, not a wedding. We still don't want to get married in the legal sense and all that. but we have thought about having a big party and something that we would like to do to celebrate with our friends. When that's actually going to happen, I'm not sure, but you'll be the first to know our calm down. Also, I just want to have a party with all my friends. Someone that's been married twice, you haven't been at either one of my weddings.
Starting point is 00:08:46 Like, there's a time, it's finally time for like, I know. To have something where like my actual like circle of friends are at. So it'd be fine. Amy, moving later, what is your favorite thing about traveling for football? Well, if you listen to earlier our podcast earlier this week, it's, there's a lot of issues that can come with traveling. But if you're doing it with people that you love, you can, you can make the most of even like a terrible situation, missing flights, being delayed, terrible people on the plane. I think my favorite part about. Oki Shards.
Starting point is 00:09:24 Okie Chards. We need a sansaire. I think my favorite thing about traveling for football is that I get to do it with people that I adore. So it's just so fun. And like the stories that come. And you do it on a charter plane. Yeah, well, not always.
Starting point is 00:09:37 But I do appreciate an Al Michaels, FBO situation here and there. But when I'm not privileged enough to be there, I do love just traveling with the group, like whoever that is. And for Fox too. Like, depends on a feature or like with Sweet Dominique. Like being able to try. travel with people that you spend so much time with and you actually like them is a bonus.
Starting point is 00:09:59 No, I agree. I agree. Mine is the same. Like, we have such a fun group. We call it the LA squad. I was thinking about them today as I was driving and I was thinking about us weaving in and out of traffic safely to get to the airport. And then even, you know, our, when you do a one o'clock game, you've got to be out pretty early. So I was up at, you know, 615. I wanted to be in the medium room by 630. The coffee hits in Philly at that hotel we stay at. My God, is it good? So I got in at 630. A couple boys were already in there. Everybody was talking about the baseball game that had happened the night before. And so I cozied up with a thing of coffee, had my eye patches on. And we just were all like, you know, had scratchy voices and we're just talking to God, it's early. You get so excited when
Starting point is 00:10:44 you're there. But it's just like that, the fellowship is so much of what I love. We, we were out to dinner. Also, I was telling you this on Saturday night and in Philly and in walk Devonte Adams because he wanted to say hi to our crew. And that's always so much fun for our guys behind the scenes that don't get to interact with these players because they're always in the truck. And I was like, Devonte, this is my producer and my director who have covered you your whole career, even through you know, Green Bay. Oh my gosh. How cool is this? Our producer was saying that he remembers the production meeting that Aaron Rogers said, we've got this kid, Devonte Adams, and he's going to be good.
Starting point is 00:11:21 Like, how cool is that? Yeah. So I just love things like that. It's what makes football so special. And, you know, we love our group so much. Okay. At Clark or at Clarkie must have on plane. Hand sanitizer, lip balm, a little hydro acid, whatever spray.
Starting point is 00:11:44 I'm into that. I don't know how to say that. Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure. I need my iPad because I'm always cranking out notes. I like my earphones. I'll be big. I'm a granny.
Starting point is 00:11:57 I don't care. Compression socks. I'm a sweller. I need my compression socks. I've never done that. Maybe I should. So damey now from circulation. Mine's definitely I need, yeah, I mean a charger, number one,
Starting point is 00:12:15 because those are those moments where I'm like, are you kidding me? I forgot to charge it, but that's like pretty basic. Chapstick. I need socks. I need to make sure that like I, because sometimes if I'm in a loafer or if I'm in a scandal, I can get myself to the airport and those, but I am not subjecting anyone to feet.
Starting point is 00:12:34 And sometimes you don't want to have like, so always like a pair of comfy socks that are in the carry on. Always some sort of hair thing that's pretty basic. And also a jacket or a sweatshirt because the temperature on. the plane varies. I also like to use that as a pillow. I mean, against the window with that.
Starting point is 00:12:53 I'm not always into the ones that are provided, depending on what's going on there. They do those anymore. Yeah, sometimes they do. The old Delta one, shout out to my airline I love, Delta ones, but those are fine. But like sometimes you just find yourself when I'm not able to get onto that situation
Starting point is 00:13:12 because not all flights have that. Yeah, just basically the summary is hydration and comfort. on on those things yeah um we have got andling gulesby you briefly mentioned trying microneedling what do you think EA that's all you sister love going back next week to do it i'm trying to do it regularly i'm interested to see if it'll help acne scars because i was reading about it the other day that it's supposed to really help scarring and help to like with boost collagen which you lose when you're older so that's super fun i've really enjoyed it i really really really like it. I like the results. What's that, babe? What's the sensation? Like, what does it feel like when
Starting point is 00:13:53 you're getting it done? Like, is it hot or is it, does it actually? Because micro-needling sounds like we're like, did-d-d-d-d-dittling at your face? What does it feel like? It doesn't feel bad because we do a numbing cream and I'm laughing and gassing it. So it's not too bad. And also, since we're doing it during this season, they're not doing it like, I think, to the deepest of needle because my healing time, my healing time during the season isn't that great. You do it on a Monday or Tuesday. You got to be back on camera on a Friday or a Sunday. So now during this off season, I did it and holley mole. We did it with like a copper micro needle and it got in there. That's one that caused me to break out quite a bit because it gets all this stuff out. But I've enjoyed it. I like it a lot.

I know there's a lot of them to listen to these days. are you going to get to us? Well, there's a specific reason why you should listen to us. We are the best podcast in the entire world, I swear. I know, bold, but why don't we list some of the things
Starting point is 00:16:29 we might talk about on a regular episode? So sometimes we'll talk about, I don't know, the Uber driver we just had. And how nice they were, or if we tipped them or not, come and find out. Sometimes we'll talk about that weird news story from last week. It's the one you're thinking about, trust me. Or maybe we'll talk about music and what's happening in the underground or drama and music or TV shows or the Met Gala and what the actors wore. What we're saying is we're not afraid to talk about everything under the sun. And if you want to see what that's like, come join us. It's a place where everyone can hang out, anyone.
Starting point is 00:17:02 Wherever you're from, whatever you're like, you're welcome. Listen to out of character from Will Ferrell's Big Money Players Network on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Pods, or wherever you get your podcasts. Lisa, we should tell them about our new show. Oh my God, Lexi. We have a new podcast. It's called Don't Lie to Me. I'm Lexi Yuwanu. We're two best friends, 22 years apart, but so close at heart. And I'm Lisa Di Giulio, the old one, which means we have wildly different references,
Starting point is 00:17:30 occasionally different opinions, and at this point in my 50s, I've lived it all. I'm not going to get anywhere fighting. That is wild. I learned that about you today. Now in my 30s, being the founder of new shoes, good taste is my business. And I've always got something to say. If men were just honest about this, there would be so much more peace in the world. We're going to talk about dating, relationships, beauty, getting older, and a little wiser.
Starting point is 00:17:58 We're best friends, but we don't always agree. Because you told us how accommodating you are. Obviously, I would do what I think I could do to fight the fight, but there's only so much fight I can fight. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Liar.
Starting point is 00:18:15 Listen on the IHeart Radio app. Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcast. I don't really care. Brittany, when do you, when does boot season officially start? Man, I just, now. I love fall wardrobes. Like I can, somewhere, it's like, I'm okay. Like, there's like a, you know, cute couple little sets and whatnot. I love winter because I'm upset. Like, maybe it's the Pacific Northwest in me, like growing up always being in a sweater or a jacket. Like, I love, I love the fashion of fall. I love the color. I love the color. of fall. I love a boot. Yeah. I rock a boot as long as I can until it's like, okay,
Starting point is 00:18:57 it's 100 degrees out. We're not wearing boots. But yeah, I'm a boot season is here. I still like a, I like all heights, all that kind of stuff. I still can't do a little kitten heel on a boot. That's not my thing. I need to be up there. But yeah, if you see any good ones, sweet Brittany, let me know. Send it to us if you think they're great. I'm more of, like I said, I like a pattern on mine. I like a texture. No animals were harmed in the making of these boots, but the fake version of the snake skin, all that other crap, I like that. I like that. I, um, what was I going to say? I like, I think Reformation has a couple of cute ones I was seeing with like a little, I'm into the little kitten heel. I get clumsy when I've got a
Starting point is 00:19:45 heel on there. I'll do it for special occasions, but I tried to rock a boot this week, but, you know, it was wet. That's okay. Next. Okay. Alex and Chantel, what are the best skin treatments you've done and what ages did you start? I'm 38. I think that's a good thing. I think that's good to get going now, like lasers and, you know, stuff like that. I really, I rocked a couple lasers this summer. I rocked a couple of things like to help tighten the old jowls and neck. I don't know, you know, we'll see how it goes. But I, I like what I've, what we've been doing. The micro-needling's great. I'm really into red light. Yeah, there's, I'm very limited during the season, the stuff we can do to our face, obviously. Yep. I told you guys last week I did the CO2.
Starting point is 00:20:38 I love that. I know everybody's varied on their results and some people are like, this is crazy. like it's so extreme. It is extreme, but the person that I went to, I love Dr. Lakey. He was like very, it was, I didn't, my downtime was, yeah, it was long in the sense that like you have to peel and all that stuff. But it wasn't something where like some of these videos I see and I'm like, oh my God, you need to go to the hospital. Like this is crazy. I know. They're like bleeding. I had, and I showed you pictures, like I had baby skin. Like I wanted that feeling to last forever. It was like, there, like, I was like, and this is someone I've had acne. I've had a lot of, like, scars in my whole life.
Starting point is 00:21:18 And so it was like, I felt like I was a little newborn baby after I did that. I did Morpheus. I didn't really notice that as much, but maybe I didn't ask them to crank it up. I have a very high pain tolerance. And so I'm like, unless that thing is like really doing it, I don't want it. Because sometimes I pay for, like, lasers and things. I'm like, did this do anything? So I'm more.
Starting point is 00:21:40 I need to like go extreme on like my things to feel it because like the whole thing of like, oh, come back and I know. The series. The old series. No. Uh-uh. I'm like, I need to see immediate results now.
Starting point is 00:21:53 But I would say my biggest thing and I mentioned it last week is the skincare. I used to just be someone that was like, oh, I'll just use whatever. Epicutus is a skin care that I really like, skin better. There's a bunch of, if anyone really cares, I'm happy to take a picture of my stuff. but I like being consistent with my skincare. And a retinae, a low dose of retinae is also really impactful to sluff off the old stuff. I've actually abbreviated my skincare. My girl that's helping me with my acne, she was like, you don't need 75 products,
Starting point is 00:22:25 which is good because I'm sticking to like the four things. But now I got this drawer that I know I need to throw out and I don't want to do it yet because I know it's like how much money. I know. It's a good lesson. I think that's actually really smart because this idea. of over kids like you don't need all that. No, I know.
Starting point is 00:22:43 Blake Johnson, 2898. Kay is wearing headphones. Is that kid? Maybe kid wearing headphones while shopping with parents good or bad. I'm going to let the mom weigh in on this because I'm not sure what the situation is. Where if it's something that the parents need to focus on and this is good to occupy the kid or if the kid is not involved. I don't know. You, what do you think?
Starting point is 00:23:05 Listen, I think one thing I'm going to say is I'm never going to judge. parents for how they, you know, parent their children because what works for you may not work for somebody else. I always thought, oh, I'm not going to let my kid watch anything on iPad and all that. I'm not saying my kid does a lot of screen time, but when we need it, we use it. I'm not sure. I know some parents do it because kids get overstimulated with noises and they have to for certain reasons. Not sure what the shopping has to do with it, but I get it. Like if I'm trying to have an adult conversation and my kid, it needs is like, I'm like, hey, you're getting five minutes of Disney right now. You can have Disney or if like I'll be honest,
Starting point is 00:23:44 we always thought we were the parents that were we're not going to do the iPad at dinner. But if there times, he's three. He doesn't want to sit at Great White and have dinner, but we all want to go out together. It's like we get to the point where he's gotten to the dinner and he's done really good. And then he's like, I'm over it. I want to leave. And we're like, you know what? You can watch Peter Pan right now. Dad and I are going to finish our drinks. And I'm not judging people. Because when I'm not doing is making it uncomfortable for everybody sitting around me. And we got our meal to finish. And I want to have a great glass of Sansaire.
Starting point is 00:24:19 You know? So I don't know. I'm not going to judge anybody for how they parent their kids. I just, here's my thing. I don't want my kid being an a hole. And I don't want kids being an a hole around me. I got to tell a quick story on my flight to Philly, which isn't a short one. These adorable parents, one had a freshy, fresh baby sitting with them.
Starting point is 00:24:36 And then the other one had a baby that looked like he was max age. She was max age three. Those parents did such an amazing job. Yes, there were moments of crying, but whatever, that's going to happen. They even did well in the altitude. But I got to tell you, this husband and wife are such a team. There was a moment. And the dad was sitting or the mom was sitting with the little girl and the dad was with the baby.
Starting point is 00:24:59 And all of a sudden you heard the little girl just scream. And it was like, oh, my God, I thought she fell off her chair or she hurt herself. the dad jumps over the seat grabs the kid and runs to the bathroom and I was like oh my god that was so frightening i hope everything's okay well then you got the waft of of poop she must have poop and the dad was so mortified he grabbed her and then there's the mom with the baby and the mom's holding the baby and the mom's probably like literally shit so that i almost the baby if you want to go in there and help him. But she grabbed, she put the baby in the seat. She grabbed new clothes and the wipes and the whole drill, knocked on the door, handed it, shut the door. And I got to say, whatever that dad did
Starting point is 00:25:49 to hose that little kid down in a freaking bathroom, was crazy and get her fresh, get her done. I mean, he walked out, poor thing with a bag, which probably had the clothes. But their teamwork was amazing. Yeah. You just ran with this. child like he had pick six you know picks to the house we need to go back to the house new club that's very cute oh we have a follow-up follow up follow up and then we'll let everybody go last week we answered a question about dating a guy who has girls as his closest friends we didn't have a big issue with it but said it's worth looking into what's the backstory why doesn't he have guy friends all right so damon crawley writes in as a guy this is my take hit it c t
Starting point is 00:26:36 I have always had more female friends than guy friends, even in high school and junior high. Maybe it's because I was always the guys, it was always the guys that were picking on me. Oh, I'm sorry, Damon, in grade school. So my trusting guys is shaped by that. My wife has always had more guy friends than girlfriends. Neither one of us has ever been jealous of either. Sorry, I'm reading this for the for now. We're both pretty transparent about the interactions that we have.
Starting point is 00:27:04 and my wife considers them friends as well. Okay. Like, first of all, David, I appreciate your perspective on that because, again, very much like parenting, everyone's experience is different. The backstory was that Aaron and I are like, wait, why does this guy want to have girlfriends
Starting point is 00:27:19 all the time? And like, there's, you know, I just would have been a little bit like weirded out if Steve's like, look it, these are all my girlfriends. And like, I think, but everyone's experience different. Tracy, Cindy, Lacey, and Brooke. Exactly. I would be a little skeptical, like, what are we doing here?
Starting point is 00:27:36 Did you work at a sorority house? But no, I can appreciate that everyone's experience is different. And thank you for setting in your perspective. I also want to encourage anybody when we do have anonymous or even not anonymous. And we have takes on things and somebody wants to have a follow up or their experience. As I talked about my death stories on the podcast earlier this week, right in. I love an interaction. I just know.

Starting point is 00:29:45 And we talk about pretty much everything under the sun. For example, music we're listening to, underground music, trending music, drama in music worlds. Yes, sometimes we even talk about just everyday mundane situations in our lives. like the cool Uber driver we just had? Or the food we just say, that is surprisingly delicious. Or we'll talk about the Med Gala and the looks that they wore. Are they awesome? Are they trendy? Come find out. Because our opinion matters. And so does yours.
Starting point is 00:30:14 And this is a place where all of our minds can come together and connect. So what are you waiting for? Come connect with us.
Starting point is 00:30:34 I'm Lexi Yuwanu. We're two best friends, 22 years apart, but so close at heart. And I'm Lisa DiGulio, the old one, which means we have wildly different references, occasionally different opinions, and at this point in my 50s, I've lived it all. I'm not going to get anyone fighting. That is wild. I learned that about you today. Now in my 30s, being the founder of new shoes, good taste.
Starting point is 00:30:59 It is my business, and I've always got something to say. If men were just honest about this, there would be so much more peace in the world. We're going to talk about dating, relationships, beauty, getting older, and a little wiser. We're best friends, but we don't always agree. Because you told us how accommodating you are. Obviously, I would do what I think I could do to fight the fight, but there's only so much fight I can fight. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me.
Starting point is 00:31:29 Liar. Listen on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. I don't really care. And speaking of interaction, this is a, we also have headlines that we love. Ryan, our great producer, sends them along and lets us, you know, decide if we want to chat about them. This one's getting a lot of traction. Now, I'm not on TikTok, but apparently this is all the, uh, the rage. Mackenzie was just telling me about this.
Starting point is 00:31:55 Yes. McKenzie, this is the coffee story. So if the headline is bringing, is bringing an ice coffee. to a job interview really a red flag. Some employers see it as harmless while others think it's unprofessional. I'll summarize this. If you're on TikTok, you probably heard the recent debate about whether bringing an ice coffee to an interview is a red flag or not. So this is where Aaron drinks her ice coffee. I drink my now cold coffee. I think if you do that, it's inappropriate. Yeah. So I have, I have a strong opinion on this. What do you want to go first? Well, did you just
Starting point is 00:32:29 Well, I just summarize. Coffee chats. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, somebody brought up to me, which isn't in this. I was trying to see if it was. The cold coffee leaks. Like there's condensation. Like, how do you know there's a coaster at that meeting?
Starting point is 00:32:44 You don't know. You know, it's messy. Yeah, I guess it's not cool. I don't know. I wouldn't, what about, okay, so I'm going to say this. What about a hot coffee? Can I bring a hot coffee or no? That's inappropriate.
Starting point is 00:32:56 No. Okay. My take is no. This is not a date with your friend. This is not going to go catch up over coffee and chit-chat. This is an interview. It is a professional setting that the only thing you should have in your hand is either your resume or some sort of, let's say, I don't know if it's a job that you need to show your previous work,
Starting point is 00:33:20 if it's your portfolio, whatever it is. Like that is it. We're not going in bringing snacks and wrestling around or dealing with the condensation as you outline or shaking the iced coffee with the ice. We are here to apply for a job. And if you are, to me, it sends a signal that if you're that comfortable coming in with your recreational drink, that you're not taking it that serious and you're not respecting that that individual has taken time out of their day to talk to you and doesn't want it to
Starting point is 00:33:46 just come across as like just two friends catching up over coffee. Like, no. So then what's next? We're bringing our luncheon because we didn't have time to eat. Hey, do you mind if I just have this tuna fish sandwich here? while we have this job interview. No, it's a gateway. It's a gateway to other things. We're not bringing in sandwiches. We're not bringing in lunch. It sends the signal that you're not taking it seriously. And if I'm your employer and you've had employees and I've had employees and you come
Starting point is 00:34:11 waltzing in with an ice coffee, not getting the job. No, you're not. Also, unless you're bringing me in ice coffee because you know I love ice coffee, now you have done your homework and you know that I love coffee and bring that thing over here. And I'll probably thank you and give you the job because you've done that. I'm also messing. I mean, I'm going to shout out Tappin. I got a couple of pieces from Tappen. Shout out Heather, who works there, my girlfriend. The art place.
Starting point is 00:34:36 Yes, of course. And I spilled coffee there. Oh, shit. Yeah, on the rug. No, Aaron. Yep. Shirted. Well, we went out for a couple glasses of wine before we looked at the art.
Starting point is 00:34:48 That's what happened. Yeah. So I guess I agree. Yeah. For those that don't know, T-A-P-A-N, check it out online. Check it out. Yeah. Yeah. I love their pieces. Anywho. Well, there she blows. Oh, all right. That's it. That's it. That's it. I actually, I do what I do one more headline. And then we'll call it. Oh, yeah. Man goes viral for watching football on his phone while at an Ella Langley concert. And it has the internet divided on whether it's an ick or he's winning at life. At the center of today's heated discussion is an unsuspecting fan who was caught watching. football during an Ella Langley sold out stop in Jacksonville, Florida.
Starting point is 00:35:30 The video was captioned with Founded Ick. Others disagreed. Guy is at an Ella Langley concert and watching college football. Dude is winning in life. What girl, that's a green flag. Instagram now lets you blur. Sorry, that's the different story. But yeah, I think this is fantastic,
Starting point is 00:35:46 especially if he's going because the girlfriend wanted to go to the Ella Langley concert. And he's like, I'll go with you, but I'm going to still need to watch my Florida Gators play. Well, you had nothing to watch last weekend, but that's okay. I shouldn't have brought that up, yeah. Right. Right. I don't think you see the problem.
Starting point is 00:36:03 No. And what I don't understand is why is this an ick? You're ick. Don't say that. No. I'm sorry. We're also the wrong girls to ask this question. We're so the wrong girls to ask.
Starting point is 00:36:14 Where was I the other day? And somebody walked in and I was like, sorry, we're just watching football and doing this. And somebody was like, well, you're great. Oh, us. Wasn't it us? What were we doing? Oh, I thought it was when I was at your house doing NADs. Yes.
Starting point is 00:36:30 I remember it was the plant people. Yes. Oh, sorry. We're just like watching. Oh, it was because it was Monday night. Yeah. Or yeah, we were watching coverage with IVs and the plant people walked in. And we're like, we're just those girls getting IVs and watching football.
Starting point is 00:36:45 Yeah. Like, we're so cool. We love football. We're just like working on our health and wellness at the same time. Like, we're so cool. So healthy. But, yeah. I think it's totally...
Starting point is 00:36:54 45 glasses of Chardonnay last night. Here's what I'll say. I wish, by the way, that's next Monday. I wish... One last little caveat on that thing is as long as the man has headphones in. If he's got the game... Agreed. Like, then that's a whole different subject matter.
Starting point is 00:37:11 If he's sitting there minding his own business, watching his game, and just there to support his gal, that's great. But if you're sitting there and now you're taking our attention away from the concert that's happening on stage, no, now you need to go home. But go for it, buddy. You can mute it. It's okay.
Starting point is 00:37:26 Unless it's my post game interview, you know. Sound. Whoa, you're excited. I love that. Kurt Menopi wrote me a nice note about that. I thought that was really sweet. He wrote me a note and he goes, we were watching you record it. We saw the guy come by and Kairn's Green and you just ran right in.
Starting point is 00:37:43 He goes, other people not to be named. No, I'm kidding. There's no one to name. But he just was just saying that was cool. I was like, why wouldn't you enjoy that moment? I like when you're not like, hey. Hey, so I'm here live. No, it's like, his guy screaming, what's going on?
Starting point is 00:37:55 Oh, that's weird. That's weird that you just went with the flow of players. All right. Well, that will do it for us here on the Calm Down podcast. Thank you guys for tuning in. Again, catch us every single week, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Because one time a week is not enough because we need to all calm down, take a load off, bring your ice coffee to this conversation, not to an interview, and hang with us.
