Starting point is 00:06:34 We tapped in. Sources on sources, because I was the first 5-10 port in the country. No, he was first 4-4th. When I heard that about you, I said, damn, man, you was a killer, though. You averaged a double-double with that?
Starting point is 00:06:48 Yeah. little double double. Damn, why did you start out playing center? Why did those on the plot, bro?
Starting point is 00:06:54 I mean, man. What was your bill like, Paul? No, no, in Flint, though,
Starting point is 00:06:59 like, we ain't got too many tall people, like, it was all guards. Like, I was the only one that was tall.
Starting point is 00:07:04 So I could, I could play a guard, but they just, you know, threw me at the center. And I was a freshman, too, so that ain't no say so.
Starting point is 00:07:10 I just tapped it with my source. They said, nah, that's the thing about what he played and sick of all. That's great.
Starting point is 00:07:15 That's before prep school NB. Yeah. That's your because you only spent one year at your high school right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:21 Went over to Uh, over the Huntington. Yeah. Yeah. I was in Uh, for sure.
Starting point is 00:07:27 Yeah. My bro, bro, my brother, he was the first five, 10, stretch forward. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:07:31 bro. So I walk so you can run. Yeah. He didn't shoot, though. You couldn't shoot. Right. A clipy. What is he talking about?
Starting point is 00:07:42 He just sat screen for George Hill. Nah, Right, bro. So let's see, bro. Sam Perkins, bro. I hope so that for ripping her, bro. Meeting work.
Starting point is 00:07:53 Yeah, I played it in and out, bro. Hey, yo. I didn't have been on a jail, man. He's so wrong with you. How do you just start hooping, though? Like, was it just hooping in the hood with the guys, or did somebody put the pill in your hand? My pops, rest in peace. My pops, he put the pill in my hand when I was four.
Starting point is 00:08:12 got me my hoop shit but yeah I was always hooping with the older guys in the hood that's really you know
Starting point is 00:08:19 got me tough got me got me better at basketball my mom she she won't messing with that but my dad was like
Starting point is 00:08:24 he wanted me to hoop with all the older guys so that's how I got started for real was you
Starting point is 00:08:28 always bigger than everybody no I was skinny I was skinny I was skinny I was short up to like
Starting point is 00:08:33 I say middle school that's when I hit my little gross spurt got the 6-1 okay playing center
Starting point is 00:08:40 shit So, man, you said ball screen, that's crazy. Yeah, that's how I got started, though. That's how I got that dog in you, though. But, shit. Pooping outside. But just older competition. Hey, and you can't call foul.
Starting point is 00:08:54 Can't call foul. That's really where you get it from, though. I had to chain net. Your hand get caught on the net and get the league. Chain net is wild, bro. That's it. I don't, oh, my mom, they can't have a chain net before. No.
Starting point is 00:09:07 I'll be keeping up being. A chain net is wild. I did. switch you'd be like ching never heard of it. No, because the thing caught. Yo,
Starting point is 00:09:15 your hand, you go dunk your fingergol me. I got to get some scarlet thing. I'm cool, bro. I don't worry
Starting point is 00:09:20 that we could have some nets. I was this character building, bro. That's all part of the journey. You're really
Starting point is 00:09:25 with chain nets or no nets? No nets. No nets. Hey, oh, God. And niggas a lie about hitting an airballs
Starting point is 00:09:34 up a net in the pickup game, right? That's the fun about it. That's the fun about it. See your foot. Because that we got to fight about it. Because you're like,
Starting point is 00:09:41 I think Airball game. Y'all won their bit. Now, everybody got to fight. It's a good time. But, but y'all, listen, man, we know you hoop and rap, but Lance Stevenson,
Starting point is 00:09:49 man, he put the pressure on you, man. He said, he's the best rapper from Charlotte. No, that's not Charlotte. But play for Charlotte. No, Lance Cole. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:09:59 I thought it was way better than what I thought it was going to be. I heard his little hot nigger freestyle like 2014. That was cool, too. But he went off on on the radar. I said one day, I don't know who I was talking to.
Starting point is 00:10:10 I said, but he crawled so you can walk because he was the first one, not the first rapper. I mean, Stephen Jackson, a couple of them other people, World Peace, they all rap, but he was the first one that was kind of like in a new era. Like, when he did the high-nigger freestyle and shit, to be rapping, it was kind of lit. And the way they did it was lit, like the videos was lit and shit.
Starting point is 00:10:31 And then when you came along and started rapping, I mean, obviously, Dan rap too, but your shit was like, raw. Yeah, that's what I listen to, you're serious. I see in the YouTube videos, I said, ah, no, I'm fucking with this. This is my type of shit.
Starting point is 00:10:46 When niggas got the music videos to the gas station, I'm locked there. You said you was his favorite, y'all was his favorite team after that. All right, I've been fucking with the hoarders since 2021. We locked the end, baby. When you start rapping?
Starting point is 00:10:58 I always just love music as a little kid, but, like, just rapping on the lunch tables, little freestyle. But when I first got in the studio for real, it was probably like, I was like 18 I went I went rapping for real I was just you know
Starting point is 00:11:11 still playing around but I really didn't start taking the shit serious to like 2020 when COVID hit that's when I dropped my first tape up to score and after that just went off
Starting point is 00:11:21 I was rapping with D. Bacon though before that 2019 like we had our own take the Duane he'll book it but he really got me on the music way where I was like confident
Starting point is 00:11:29 and doing my own shit you feel me that's where a spotter I mean I call the nigger Spada Sada speak high at you bro He was having that talk He was like, no, they're my My name of my house
Starting point is 00:11:40 He's number one, dick He's for the club, bro That's my dog I was about to go to one of his concerts I pulled up to his hood I pulled up to his hood I pulled up to his hood He showed up to his hood
Starting point is 00:11:52 He showed me love So ever since then Me and Sauta been locked in him Skila All them man Sada good people Skilla good people too For sure
Starting point is 00:11:59 I'm gonna show that he's like This new album This new album Tuff bro You said something on that motherfucker I think on that one record I was a tool. It's called me and you.
Starting point is 00:12:09 He was like, it ain't got to be Halloween. I steal a trick on. You hear me? You're me? What's my? That's towards the end of the album, y'all. That's towards the end of the album, y'all.
Starting point is 00:12:24 I got to take that one. For real. It's called me and you like, fuck with that one. My real birthday. I ain't no motherfucking trick-a-roo when I said. Bounce might make me tap me. Go, get what you want. So you got to borrow.
Starting point is 00:12:36 That was hard, bro. They told me I was too aggressive for my rap, so I had to, you know, put some songs in there for the ladies, man. Because you were scared a whole life. That's an all-white Air Force up. No. The rest of them is the same. You can show that song of your mama. Nah, I fuck with the music, but I really fuck with you as a Hooper, though, for sure.
Starting point is 00:13:00 Like, people don't understand that you really a bucket, and you've been doing it for a long time. You're one of top players in high school when you came out going to Michigan State one of the top players in college. What's been like that driving force for you you when it come to hoop?
Starting point is 00:13:16 Just not wanting to go back to Flint. I always wanted to make it out when I finally made it out. You know, that's not where it ends at. You got to keep going. But like my family, they motivate me. People around me motivate me. Just me wanting to be great.
Starting point is 00:13:32 You know what I'm saying? That just keeps me going for real. Fax. Fis. We were talking about the Huntington Beach, you know what I'm saying? Getting out the career going to prep school
Starting point is 00:13:38 and y'all was nice. Huntington Prep, man. That's just laying the motherfucker Paterson to OJ. Yeah. Now, they, it's crazy. People were getting that confused.
Starting point is 00:13:47 They went to Huntington High, but it was like a whole new thing with Huntington Prep. Yeah. Andrew Wiggins. They went to Huntington Prep. They went to Huntington High. They went to Huntington High.
Starting point is 00:13:57 Oh, okay. So that's two different schools. Yeah, I'm about to say. Huntington Prep was a little a little Cavley school that we're having the prep Schools, Huntington High, they got, like, OJ, you know, Pat Patterson, Chris Walker. Yeah, well, that was lean on me.
Starting point is 00:14:11 Okay, I thought that was the same lines and prep. How far is that away from each other? Ten minutes. Did you play each other? Huntington real small. No, I wanted to, though. I always wanted to. They never got to it, though.
Starting point is 00:14:23 So who came and recruited you, though, out of high school to pull up? Like college type? No, I'm just meaning, like, what was that? What made you leave? Oh, leave your hood school, you know, leave your friends and shit to go prep. Yeah, it's a little. a dude named Javante Hawkins. He used to hoop.
Starting point is 00:14:36 He went to Huntington Prep. Did he go to Mississippi State? No, he went to South Florida. South Florida, okay. I'm thinking about some of that. He went to South Florida. So he told my mom, he's like, yeah, I don't think I want Miles in Flint no more, you know,
Starting point is 00:14:51 just because of the environment and stuff and he didn't want me around certain things. Yeah. So he told my mama and then she was like, all right, I guess I'll let him go. I really wanted to come back my senior year, though, because it ain't nothing like the hood, man. You get a dunk.
Starting point is 00:15:04 They running on the court on type of stuff. But it was good for me to go there. I play a lot of competition. Jason Tatum, Fox. That's really where I got my competitive nature from, for real. Damn, you play Jason Tedham in high school? Yeah, my shopping out of y'all. Damn.
Starting point is 00:15:22 I had a 30-piece stuff, but he... Yeah, 47? What? He wasn't missing. J-T. You all that? Damn, J-T. He's a killer. No, he been like that, bro. Man, that's hard.
Starting point is 00:15:32 Damn, that's crazy. And then, if you know what I'm saying, you didn't. kill there and then bring it back to the career of Michigan State. Was it another school that it could have been for what Michigan State? I actually committed to Kentucky. I told Coach Kyle I was going there. He was sick at me.
Starting point is 00:15:46 It was really supposed to be me, Fox, Malig Monk, Bam, out of bio. Briscoe was there that year. I know y'all didn't get. It ain't no beef. It ain't no beef. But no, I actually committed. And then when I took my visit to Michigan State,
Starting point is 00:16:02 I was like, man, I got to come back to the game. just felt like home. Yeah, for sure. Damn. That's crazy. Y'all class was fire. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:10 No, they had a squad. Everybody in that class that was a top guy, they damn there in the NBA and they, like, thriving in the NBA for real. 2016, that was crazy class. Yeah, I remember you killed Purdue.
Starting point is 00:16:21 I think, so freshman year, you had like 33 or something on them. Yeah, that's time we lost. The second time I killed them, I had the game winner. That was my sophomore year.
Starting point is 00:16:31 Yeah, I just, that's what I was about Purdue, bro. I just, hadn't like them, I have no. I'm in you on the same way. No.
Starting point is 00:16:38 I know you were to make for a dude. I committed to Purdue. I committed to me a sense. But I didn't have an offer. He had, damn.
Starting point is 00:16:47 He got one of them dad has right now. Put the pee on the front. Fuck him. I got it. It's better be a LA hat. I thought it was. Hey,
Starting point is 00:16:54 fuck you. I had no offer. No, for real. I called him and said, yeah, I'm coming away. I'm coming to Purdue,
Starting point is 00:17:01 man. They said. They was like, we're going to call you. right back. I was like, what? He was like, we don't have any more offers. Ever since then, ever since this, fuck for them.
Starting point is 00:17:11 No, for sure. I'm glad you killed him. How many? Three, three. First time, I had a little 20 piece, but that game winner kind of made it like that. Yeah, he had a game winner on your ass. That's the first time I know it's like, oh, he's special. He a dog. I heard your name because I follow
Starting point is 00:17:26 Hey, you heavy, but I was like, now, you can really ball for real, bro. Yeah, for sure. What made you come back to school your sophomore year? I just felt like already. You know, my freshman, I feel like my game wasn't as defined as I wanted to be, you know, going against the best in the world. I wanted to get my handles better, my
Starting point is 00:17:42 decision making better. And coach is, he helped me with that for show. I couldn't believe you came back. Freshment of the year? My mom was mad at me too. Oh, yeah. Shout to Mama. I would have been pissed, too. Like, I was mad at him. I was like, what the fuck is he doing?
Starting point is 00:17:59 She didn't go back to this shit. She didn't retire to everything. She's like, what is you doing? I don't know. you made a good decision though I mean it all worked out it was all worked out
Starting point is 00:18:10 but you was hot though bro well you was gonna be you was hot t he was gonna be I could believe I said he'd go ahead I said
Starting point is 00:18:19 he got a different type of faith it is through me a party when I came back as he should bro party should have been stupid
Starting point is 00:18:30 should have been one of 520 parts then he had did he play a part of your decision, though, of leaving? Or then he was like, you know, Miles, I love for you to come back, but, you know, you got to do what's best for you. No, he wanted me to do what's best for me.
Starting point is 00:18:42 He really wanted me to leave. Like, my second year, Jaron was with me, Jaron Jackson. Not town. Yeah, yep. He was trying to come back for his second year and coach was like, man, get out of here, man. Like, what's you doing? You top four pick. But with me, he was different. I was like
Starting point is 00:18:56 top 10, top 11. So. Yeah. You made it work, bro. You got a hell of faith, nigga. He got good faith. And it's smart because a lot. You see people who leave after that freshman year. And, yeah, you get lottery picked, but then it don't work out.
Starting point is 00:19:09 You don't get that second contract already kind of spooky. Yeah, yeah. That's what I was scared of for. I just didn't want to go to the league just to say I went to the league. I wanted to actually, you know, make an impact, you for me. So that's a lot. I ain't going to lie, like watching you when you came in a league, you know, you're stupid athletic. You know, you dunk on people got bounced lives and all that.
Starting point is 00:19:28 You and LeMello had a stupid connection. And then I kept watching you and all of a sudden I'm like, man, this my fucking shoot. Because when I was at Michigan State, I seen you make threes, but I didn't label you a shooter. Like, I was like, man, you're not knocked down.
Starting point is 00:19:41 But now that I watch you, it's like, shit, you can't leave him. It's my fucking shoot. So, like, well, how was that development, you know, working on your shot,
Starting point is 00:19:49 being a pro, and then going to the league and becoming a pro and working on your shot and stuff like that? I mean, I ain't a lot like Katten's and say I put up
Starting point is 00:19:55 a thousand shots a day, but I put up, I put up a whole lot of shots, man. I put up a whole lot of shots, for show just trying to prepare. We're sorry. I'm trying to break my shit.
Starting point is 00:20:06 I can't lie, bro. I was fucking cats. I'm fucking cats. The only thing I could get away with that is Kobe saying that. Rest of peace. Rest of peace to Kobe. That's like I can get away with saying. Everybody else.
Starting point is 00:20:20 That's a shot of shit. No. I know you put it in that wild. That's why he deserves a pure. That's why he deserves. If Brock can read that book. No. No.
Starting point is 00:20:28 And Brock can go read that book. Can you put up a G. That's why he was meant to be on here because he tells the real. He tells the truth. Nobody's shooting $1,000. $1,000.
Starting point is 00:20:38 He said $1,500. $1,000. $1,500 is nuts. Ket out of. I love that. Kats good people. This because he lied, I fuck with that. I fuck with the lie.
Starting point is 00:20:50 Because I lie. I lie themselves. I tell the kids at the school, that coached Ed Pipe that I worked out three times a day. I did. Never. Man, what other question?
Starting point is 00:21:02 You're a workout today. Whole coach. I lie. Definitely lie. That's what, man. Shout to genetics. Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged. It's the enhanced games.
Starting point is 00:21:17 Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year. Within probably 10 days, I put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth. Listen to Superhuman on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. A win is a win.
Starting point is 00:21:41 A win is a win. I don't care which I'm saying. Yep, that's me, Cliver Taylor the 4th. You might have seen the skits, the reactions, my journey from basketball to college football, or my career in sports media. Well, somewhere along the way, this platform became bigger than I ever imagined.
Starting point is 00:21:58 And now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Clifford Show. Starting point is 00:22:44 And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defining the odds. Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed. And finding ways to win no matter what. He's the smartest player to ever play the game. His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before. And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game. We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:23:07 I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid. He has to guard Julius Randall. And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too.
Starting point is 00:23:26 Steve Nass would get that thing. That man, hell get the fly. He running up the court, licking his fingers why he got the ball, like, after you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah, you figure it out real quick. Oh, yeah. Get your ass up and down the court,
Starting point is 00:23:40 and you're going to get the ball. So listen to Point Game on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Starting point is 00:25:17 So you kill your sophomore year, bro. When did you know at that point like you was ready to go to the draft? I mean, I knew I was going to go either way. Either way. Yeah, fuck. throughout that whole year so my stock wouldn't go down. You know, me, I was just focusing on winning, and I just carried over to my game.
Starting point is 00:25:39 Yeah, that's what it was. Hey, and I Bisharla, was there anywhere else you think he was going to go? Or where did you want to go? I thought I was going to go to the Knicks for real. I was in a little matchup, me and Kevin Knox back in the day. Damn. And they had came out there because he was going crazy in that little, it was like a three-on-three.
Starting point is 00:25:56 What? Six people in the draft shit? Is it six people or is it three people? My draft was a little different. I ain't. You didn't have to work out for it. I'm old. I was old.
Starting point is 00:26:06 He was a little late. I was old. It was six people. It was six people because we was playing three on three and Kevin Knox was killing. Like he was hitting anything, half-court shots, all the type of shit. No exaggeration. And somebody had leaked in there was like, Kevin Knox is just bust miles of ass. Boom.
Starting point is 00:26:20 I don't think you're coming to the Knicks no more. So after that, I mean, they picked Kevin Knox over me at, I think number nine. At number nine because that's where I thought I was about to go. I didn't know going to the horns. But I thought I was going to the Knicks, though. Damn. It all worked out. You see how a guy worked?
Starting point is 00:26:36 Yeah, for sure. The Knicks might not be meant for you because Kevin Knox. Shit. It's tough. I fuck with Kevin Knox. I thought he was a good player, but damn. I just feel like playing in New York is just a different breed. Oh, I turned it down.
Starting point is 00:26:49 Why? No, sir. Different breed. Boy, you're not about to end me. There's a lot of expectation. You got to be built for you, man. You for sure got to be built for you. You for sure got to be built for that.
Starting point is 00:27:00 Ain't it so crazy, bro? That was killing mellow. Like, if y'all kill anybody. That's when I knew I wasn't built for it. You're going to talk about it about him? Yeah, I would imagine what you're going to say about me. Yeah, you was going to get talked about real dusty. I was going to have some hell of stories, boy.
Starting point is 00:27:16 Do you get hella stories? Imagine my New York stories, the joints I would have had. I was outside. Charlotte, though, you're more free, though. Yeah, for sure. They kind of let you work on your game and figure shit out. as a season go. Facts,
Starting point is 00:27:31 I fuck with Charlotte. So how was that transition, though, bro, your first game, was you spook? Like, oh, shit, this is the big league. Yeah, I was playing
Starting point is 00:27:38 against Yonis, my first game. Damn! And this one, this is MVP. I mean, Yon is still at an MVP level. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:44 This was an MVP on this, like, 2018. I had one point in that game. See? Y'all talking about Brody. I'm sick. I ain't like,
Starting point is 00:27:53 you're talking about Brody. See? See? Good thing's a chance. Look at Miles flourishing. I was sick. Mons was a top pick. Ronnie.
Starting point is 00:28:03 And Ronnie is Guardianus. This is my point. Bro, you family now. Fuck it. We're just going to pod. This is what I'd be saying to people about this Brody shit.
Starting point is 00:28:13 This nigga was a lottery pick. Played against y'all that's at one point. One point. Yes. Mouss you was out of pocket. One point. Niggas did not speak on that?
Starting point is 00:28:22 Niggas did not speak on my. He'll rookie. He a rookie. Okay. So this nigg gets picked 55th. And y'all on his ass. Y'all know what the, do y'all know what the 55th nigga shot his first preseason game last year? No.
Starting point is 00:28:35 I don't care. So as we walk in here, they're like, Bronny was one for nine last night. You know, nobody give a fuck. Y'all know why, though. Y'all know why they're talking like that. Yeah, I mean, it's Brony. But for y'all, the C.R. I'm as a basketball head, like, the C. Yonis, you go, you get one point.
Starting point is 00:28:51 But to see Yonis and, like, see how he's moving, MVP, whatever. Did that, like, light of fire? And you're like, damn, I got to work on my shit. Yeah, hell, hell, yeah. I knew I had to get stronger. I knew how to get stronger. I knew how to get more discipline. I was fucking up the coverage.
Starting point is 00:29:04 I ain't played for the next three games after that. I had 15 in the fourth quarter against the magic, and then ever since then, me and Kimba was rocking that, too. Facts, facts. Yeah, I knew I had to get better. Who was the coach for a rookie year? James Brigo.
Starting point is 00:29:18 Well, okay. A. B. I'll fuck with him. He got, he's cool, dude. Yeah, for sure. I fuck with him. Like you said, you came to the hornist team with Kimba. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:29:28 Kimba had the city on lock, shot the car. Yeah. Crazy. How was that they walking? You know what I'm saying? To see him? That was what? NBA season?
Starting point is 00:29:34 He was working out. NBA third. He was 13. He was dropping 60s on Jimmy. He was dropping 50s on Donovan Mitchell. I was like, this thing, a different breed. Nah. 5'10.
Starting point is 00:29:47 Kimble was one of the, like, I'm glad you said a light on Kimba, because Kimball one of the coldest people I ever played against. He Kimber cold. No, for sure. And I had a chance to play with him in Boston. And he one of the coolest. Yeah, for sure. So I know he was probably a super cool vet.
Starting point is 00:30:01 To have him, like, see him doing that, did it, like, did it inspire you to like, shit, I got to work on my game? Because I ain't going to lie. Kimba shoot, he shoot a hell of, well, I was with the Celtics. He was shooting a lot of shots. He was injured. He was getting shots up. I don't know how he was at him.
Starting point is 00:30:17 At that time, he was getting hell of shots up. I was in that corner. I was in that corner. He was coming up on screens pulling, but he was going in and he was doing his thing. So Kimball was a gun. What? anytime he came off the screen, he's shooting the ball,
Starting point is 00:30:34 but he was killing, so I couldn't even say. I think he average like 27 a year. No, he was cold. Kimmel was one of the coldest I ever played. I swear to go. We used to trap him. I was like, hey, I used to look at him when he came in a gal.
Starting point is 00:30:45 Like, don't worry, you ain't going to have a night tonight because we're going to trap you. Oh, you fuck. Ball Street, he ain't trapped. A-ha. Quick split. Yeah, he got all that. Handle game crazy.
Starting point is 00:30:54 All that. He ended, it's a dude name, Gary McGee. Shout to Big G. I played with him to A-A-U since I was little. Damn, he'll be able to. It will soon. And Kimball was in college, man. You know that step back he did with a dude from Pitfield?
Starting point is 00:31:09 Yep. That's Gary McGick. That's him? Yeah, he's from here. He from Indy. Well, Anderson, Indiana, but he was my guy. Yeah. Kimba ruined his career, man.
Starting point is 00:31:18 He had a chance to make to the league. Kimba, Kimba dropped him in a guard. Game. Big East Championship. That's probably the best game winner ever. Like, in my book. Top five. It's definitely.
Starting point is 00:31:28 As a Louisville fan, having nightmares of that big East run, they whipped ass every single day. That's one of the hardest championship runs, bro. Oh, for sure. Kimber that guy, man, for sure. So. But the fact that he had you on the corner,
Starting point is 00:31:44 I had them kind of moments, man. It's all good. He was gunned and you. That's all cool. Like you said, though, he probably won the best best ever, man. He put me under his wing, taught me the game. You come to his crib and chill.
Starting point is 00:31:56 I just felt like, you know, he was one of my brothers. so Michelle Kimba. Good people, bro. Great people. I ain't going to lie. He's the reason motherfuckers call me Jet. I was about to ask you about that.
Starting point is 00:32:06 I heard that earlier. What was talking about that? So, Brad Stevens wrote up a play and called me Jet, right? The shit didn't really have no legs to Kimba. Got a hold of that shit. He's like, he called you Jack? You know, he got that New York accent. Jet, my nigga?
Starting point is 00:32:22 No. No. No, son. Not, Jack. Not a joke. I'm like, damn, nobody really had no legs. I'm like, uh, every person I heard called Jett,
Starting point is 00:32:34 their knees was fucked up. My knees was fucked up. My knee was fucked up. So I'm like, yo, man, he was cracking jump son. Nah, nah, he was crack a joke.
Starting point is 00:32:46 He just couldn't call me J.T. Cause he just kind of, you know, JT zero. Yeah, he took my nigga. JT had zero two. My whole life. He was,
Starting point is 00:32:56 damn, he had zero two. And he was 55. Yeah, my whole life was fucked up in Boston. Yeah, he was a little linebacker out there. It was a gift for the curse. A little line back. 55. I was that crazy.
Starting point is 00:33:08 What was that the guy? For the Patriots. He's Juan Moore. Shout to my nigga. Easton. Yeah, he's my name. But they gave my whole time with Boston. I was done.
Starting point is 00:33:19 So that thing just started calling me jet. Like, niggins wasn't saying to Kimball was like, yo, jet! I'm like, yo, yo. It was funny because it's Kimba. It just kind of stuck. I was fucking with it after a while.
Starting point is 00:33:31 Everybody in his comments is calling you Jed now. Everybody called me Jet. How did you feel when Kimba gunning ass left? Why they got the ball of you? I feel, I mean, my dog, my dog Kay is here actually right now. So it's for instance,
Starting point is 00:33:51 hella funny. Shout out to bro. But we went from like, damn it in the ninth seed to like the 13th seed, but I got them more shot, so I was cool. I had to get the ball in my hand a little bit. Trial by her. All right, shit, if I got La Mello, turn up.
Starting point is 00:34:07 No, facts. Everything happened for a reason. How was that going from, you know what I'm saying? From Kimba to the Mello more of a pass for point guard? It was good. I just had to be, like, more on my shit with Mello because you never know when he's throwing the ball. Like, I seen him throw a full court underhand pass to me.
Starting point is 00:34:24 So it's definitely a difference. But like I said, I love watching Kimba, man. Like I said, I watch Kimba drop 60 on Jimmy Buller. That's probably one of the craziest games I've ever seen. And I've seen Mello have 15 assists, 16 assists. And it's still crazy to see. So it's just like, I don't know. No, you been blessed to play with some dope point guards, bro.
Starting point is 00:34:44 Because Kimba, when he was playing, was one of the dopest. And he was crazy. Like, to be all NBA in that era, that time when he was playing. That was game, Westbrook. Come on, the list goes on, bro. to be all NBA. No,
Starting point is 00:34:58 don't do that. I won't NBA now. I ain't going to lie. I was outside. Charlotte.
Starting point is 00:35:04 Charlotte Club. Philly Club. Minnesota. White girl. Club. I'm just outside. The Somali is. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:15 Oh, yeah. Keep I stay away from them niggas. They're dangerous. But that's another story here and here. But, no, you can be blessed to play
Starting point is 00:35:21 with dope point guard. So to come in with Kimba, all NBA, SuperVet. cold and then to give himello a young guy who comes in super flare, a lot of passing, high expectations,
Starting point is 00:35:34 you know, people who was excited that he came in the league. I mean, he had a super, super dope following. For you to get that, to be a part of that and y'all are growing, y'all look like y'all best of friends, you know what I'm saying? That's for sure, my brother. Well, no, I mean, basketball make people closer and family for life,
Starting point is 00:35:50 so it was a blessing me, Mello, you know, I feel like if he if he's not injured, he's top three garden the league. I'm not even being biased. Like, just watching. That's, that's his man's right thing. Yeah, just watching him. He could do everything. He can do everything on the court. He could do everything. He could do everything. Special. 6-8.
Starting point is 00:36:06 Niggia fast, quick. Legit 6-8. Yeah, like. Measurement. Yeah. And he can shoot that bitch, bro. Facts. I'm a fan of Lamella. I just want to ask him how do fuck did his brother get a new knee. They're different kind of chicken, bro.
Starting point is 00:36:21 Because, nigga. The knee BBL. I know I know Kimber here, too. We can just, like, That would have changed my life. You didn't want the surgery. Don't do that. No, a big one told me I'm going to have a new knee. Somebody else's knee. It won't be my knee.
Starting point is 00:36:36 God would have been cool. You know, like he's got to be from a nigga in Chino Hills. That's a real procedure zone. Shout out of this old, man. Shout to my borgia. Shout to my diggins off. I'm so happy that you playing basketball because Lanzo one of my favorite players.
Starting point is 00:36:52 Nah, hell yeah. Him and Lamello, they really, really, really. nice. I ain't going to lie. I'm glad he's old back because he was one of my favorite players, man. He was healthy. For sure. And look at y'all this season. You know what I'm saying? You got the young killer back for the sophomore season to B. Mill. Y'all looking at promising, man, you're on court looking all right. Yeah, yeah, for sure.
Starting point is 00:37:08 I mean, B. Mill, going to be cold for a lot of years, man. Like I said, I'm blessed to be able to play with a lot of great players. And B.M. One of the players, for sure. Like, he PG, archetype, can do everything on the floor from Guard. He'll shoot a three in your face. He'll dunk on your ass. So, yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:24 I'm ready for this year, man. I'm excited for show. Oh, yeah. He's going to be wicked this year. Yeah, yeah. Y'all, y'all for a challenge, but he out of pocket. I fuck with B. Miller. He out of pocket, though.
Starting point is 00:37:36 What do you do? PG to go is crazy. I mean, that's the younger generation. No, I don't care if you're 22. That's like my generation of T-Mack, I think. In my opinion, I think T-Mack won the ghosts. Well, he's trying to get off the show, right? I swear to God, in my opinion, I,
Starting point is 00:37:56 And T-Mack don't get hurt, he'd go to me. In my opinion. And I feel like that's- Why you feel that way, though? No, explain, bro. I'm not mad at you, boy. I used to watch T-Mack almost every day with my pops, bro. This nigger was doing amazing shit, bro.
Starting point is 00:38:09 Yeah. Yeah. I ain't a lot of T-Mack's coach. When him and Kobe was going at it, bro, and before he got hurt, I damn never had him over the rest of his of his Kobe. I damn never had him over Kobe. It was a question. It was a question.
Starting point is 00:38:22 It was a conversation. It was a conversation. It was a conversation. It was a conversation. But he and the T-M a T-Mack got beef. It's deep and around. I got to take. I got to take KB.
Starting point is 00:38:30 I'm not mad at you. I'm not mad at you for feeling that way. Kobe, man. Kobe over T-Mack, but at one point, it was close. It was a conversation. I ain't a lot. It was definitely a conversation.
Starting point is 00:38:41 I actually fuck with T-Mack. I seen that T-Mack episode. I said that's true. I fuck with Vince Carter. I fuck with T-Mack, though. Yeah, V-C. I thought V-C was better than T. I can't say that, though.
Starting point is 00:38:52 That's tough. I thought it was. That's tough. I'm not mad at you for. I'm saying like when Vince Carter was Vince Carter This just me When Vince Carter was Vince Carter in Toronto That shit was that shit was hard
Starting point is 00:39:05 He was getting fit going back and forth for Iverson He was damn sure Yeah I was fucking Vince Carter Yeah like sland up content Vince Carter bro He was damn rare like Nike Shock like we looked at him differently Yeah Yeah and the eye niggas was wearing them Nike Sharks with jeans That's how much of an impact he had on y'all
Starting point is 00:39:21 That part I was out of pocket Yeah I had the silver ones with the blue shockies on the back Fuck you. No, I had the black, I had the black grand rebels. I was out of pocket. You didn't do that. I know you ain't do that week as shit.
Starting point is 00:39:35 They was wearing swag by the time. He was in high school. That was skinny. Era. So you were, so you were so. Mm, we were a soldier boy era. Who was your era? A hell.
Starting point is 00:39:42 A little jerkin era. We went through a little jerkin. Oh, so you had vans. But in Flint, though, everybody like, they like boozy and webby. So you had big ass shirts. Got me from that. Yeah. You graduated high school?

Starting point is 00:44:17 and the Ad Council. I want some hoosha. What you think y'all need to make that next week like this year, like to enter the playoffs? Like what you think y'all are you missing a piece? you feel like or it's just the chemistry. I feel like we got everything we need. You know, we got a new coach. Coach Lee. He's got to stay away from injuries, man. That's all.
Starting point is 00:44:36 That's all it is, for real with us. That's all it is. I fuck with y'all new coach Charles Lee. Man, he was with me in Atlanta and Milwaukee, but I was with him with a young Atlanta. When he just came from Bucknell, he was fresh. He's a lot of energy. Cool dude.
Starting point is 00:44:51 I rock with him. I think he's going to be great for y'all this year. Super, super, super, super, super. smart when it comes to this basketball schemes and everything like that. So I'm excited for y'all. So I think I had Charlotte being one of my surprise teams because of Charles. But
Starting point is 00:45:06 I'm excited to see you in a new dynamic. Like, obviously not to talk about people money. We don't do that on here, but you know. You're good. You're going to shut up. You got what you need. You know what I'm saying? Everything. Right.
Starting point is 00:45:20 Probably got a new crib on the way. Y'all day. I feel you. Yeah. Go ahead. Have it a good time. So now you're in that stage where you, you're kind of a veteran, and now it's time to win. Right. You know, first when you get to leave, you want to get that money, blah, blah, blah. But now you got it.
Starting point is 00:45:36 It's time to win. Right. How you feel about Charles and what he's bringing to the table, how y'all schemes, how the pre-scenes going, everything, how you feel about it? That's perfect. I mean, Charles Lee, he had defensive money, he had defensive money coach. And that's exactly what we need. You know, Charles, I feel like we was dead. Not dead last, but 29 if you damn there.
Starting point is 00:45:56 dead last and defensive rating. For sure. Yeah, we get that up. I feel like we're in the middle of the pack and then plus our offense getting better, us turn the ball over a little bit less and then Mello coming back, you know, I feel like that pushes over the edge.
Starting point is 00:46:09 But for me, on the money thing, I feel like it for sure changes your mindset. For sure. You for sure going to like just anything to win type of shit. Any role they want you to play. Well, in my case, you know, because we got two young killers, we got Mello, we got B-Mill,
Starting point is 00:46:26 So for me, I'm not saying I'm taking the back seat, but at the same time I know my role with the team. And certain niggas, they don't get that, brus. But I'm at the point in my career ratio. I'm trying to make it to the playoffs. I still have made it to the playoffs. Oh, yeah. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:46:41 It's different for sure. And some people, when they get money, they just stop playing all together. You know, they get satisfied. Yeah, don't be here. He was cold, bro. That was fun. That was.
Starting point is 00:46:53 He was cold, but our nigg was. for that chicken. No, we're trying to make the That was after the first bag. The second bag, I was like, all right,
Starting point is 00:47:02 this is your 10. Like, okay. We outside. We outside. No. Kimba, get the first back.
Starting point is 00:47:08 He was still trying to play. He was still. He was still. I'm not. I love Kimball. Kimball was playing hard. He was snatched back in, knee to the ground,
Starting point is 00:47:19 fade away, step back. Kimber is a lot right. I don't know what. He got the wire. Be careful. The jam wire. He's right
Starting point is 00:47:27 He got the 150 You can ease up a little JT, shoot that Go ahead do your thing JT Jee B Go crave You know what I mean
Starting point is 00:47:39 You ease up a little bit Yeah No, bro You was able to win though a lot You know Yeah yeah Since you was in the league So bro trying to he's trying to tap into that
Starting point is 00:47:49 No I'm saying But he's still on He just This is after his working year He's how old are you And not the 20 weeks See, he's still young
Starting point is 00:47:56 So, you know, he got a couple years And then he gets to that 29, 30 It's time to re-up So you're in that stage Where you gotta win, you want to win For the rest of your career, that longevity So And for show in the city like Charlotte
Starting point is 00:48:08 They got a great fan base Like already, your games Are already super exciting Y'all gets to the playoffs, that shit gonna really be up The city, I already fucking with y'all heavy For sure, I want to see that playoff environment in Charlotte
Starting point is 00:48:17 Because, you know, I watched the D-W when he went up against the dude And Charlotte and all that shit And then I've seen them with, even like, with the Panthers. It's popping up for that, so I want us to see them. The Panthers now. Don't you worry.
Starting point is 00:48:29 Y'all would be the only team that's probably going to. Because the Panthers are guilty. I hope they are all right, but the Lions are my team, so I ain't even worried. The Panthers ain't all right. They are a heartbeat. The Lions, boy, you had a lot of long Thanksgiving. That's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:48:47 That's what I'm saying. That'd be the shit out of us last Sunday. I was like, God. Y'all back. Yeah, I beat the sleeves off us. Cowboys fucking suck. Y'all got to get rid of some people. They got to get rid of the owner.
Starting point is 00:48:59 Jerry Wilder has to sell the team. Yeah. Eric said that about buddy at practice. Yeah. And what's crazy is Jamie Fox was really like fucking with that conversation, man. He said, whoa, who's that? No, my foot he's at.
Starting point is 00:49:17 He trippled. You know what I swore doing, bro? Let me find out of care what you hear when I'm sharing. He's out of the fog. The thing, my digger at breakfast, he just shot at him out of pocket, bro. I'm so glad they lose. Bro, Jerry don't care about that bread. AT&T. State of Sade.
Starting point is 00:49:35 Come on. Field up, bro. It's popping. Bread and them inches, man. No, I know that's good to see the Detroit Lions back, bro. I know y'all said happy about that, bro. But now we got to get the hornets back to where they're supposed to be. Last time I made to the playoffs and went, what, Kimball was there?
Starting point is 00:49:48 K had that bitch lit. I ain't going a lot. No, for sure. Yeah, they played Bronn, didn't they? No, they play It was just D-Waidder Oh That was the

Starting point is 00:50:22 Yeah You know You y'all on the rapiers? Yeah, check that nigga in the stands. I'm on that. I watched that game, too. That nigga knocked up with popcorn, beers, all type of shit.
Starting point is 00:50:35 He said, that nigga fared up. Yeah, I was fed up. Yeah, I was out of the league. He almost bang me. I had to call, I had to call and get some shit straight. I think I'm about to sign with clutch. I think I'm about to sign a clutch. My nigga's about to get a LeBron soldiers.
Starting point is 00:50:49 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I think what's on a clutch? I'm trying to get it right. Who's one of your more tougher matchups in the league today? It's a lot right now. Just give us two. You just give us two. Shay tough to guard.
Starting point is 00:51:05 Yeah. Sheet tough to guard for show. Probably Joelle, man. You guard Joelle and B? I have before. Yeah. See? They tapped into that Flint.
Starting point is 00:51:16 Try all you needed this job. Because ain't a way fucking hell. They tapped in. That 6-4 center shit lives forever. Biggests. I had to go back to my roots, man. We need Flint Bridges. My own and Golden Beat is crazy.
Starting point is 00:51:38 That's crazy, bro. That's crazy, bro. Hold on. Why were you guards rolling with me? Our big man, both of our big man got into file trouble. You know how I'd be doing a little sweet. Yeah, yeah. Head fakes.
Starting point is 00:51:49 File merchant. Both the niggies got four files with third quarter. Cut me out to five. It was before we got Grant big ass. Oh, y'all, I do. My man, Grant. Big head, great. Grant would have did a way better job on him to make a head.
Starting point is 00:52:03 Green still out of the pocket on Joel, though, bro. No, Joelle, he doesn't deserve a card to him. He's not a pocket. Come on, Kim, Bo. Coach Walker. Coach. Coach Kate. How you do?
Starting point is 00:52:17 Oh, you're, Coach Kate? Coach Kate. Coach Kate. That can't be the game play. Not Grant. Anybody but Grant. I love Greg. Big Head got me.
Starting point is 00:52:28 Shout to Big Head. That's the trap. You got it's in the double. Did you grow on straight up? No, they sent the double one. I was about saying out of the block. But he was grabbing that bitch in the middle of the floor at the free throw line, jab stepping doing his little shit.
Starting point is 00:52:44 Well, we know that's not your matchup. Yeah. Your matchup. Is Luca your matchup? Shane and Luca. I'll say that. Shane. Yeah, they got it.
Starting point is 00:52:51 Look at some amazing stuff. What's the difference between Gardner, too? Shea, I don't know. People don't know about Luca, Luca Strong as he'll. Oh, my mom. So he'll push you up, he'll hit a fade. And he got some moves too. But Shay, he just, he's got bag work, straight bag work.
Starting point is 00:53:11 And he got, anytime you cut him off, he got, he got moves, man. I'm putting you on a spot, maus. Who's the easier guard? Oh, damn. Don't do that. He got a match-up. I'm saying, I got match with you. I'll match up with these guys
Starting point is 00:53:27 gonna clip that up I'll say I'll say I'll say Lucas because sometimes Luca take the day off on certain matchups like if you don't feel like playing that day
Starting point is 00:53:35 you know he'd get that bitch to re redo your thing go get 40 that's the luxury he got that's right he straight to it yeah I got respect
Starting point is 00:53:44 they both tough covers but I ain't gonna let I ain't gonna let him get you no no no he wasn't saying it like take a day he got nigga ain't nobody else
Starting point is 00:53:53 got Kyrie on the other end that's a dude Do your thing. That's a very good luxury to have for sure. So, yeah, I get it. I was shocked to hear you not say Brian, though. Brown, I'm taking days off. Sometimes you don't feel like playing, man.
Starting point is 00:54:05 Every time I play against Brian, though, it's like, you're like, ah, man, that's the hornets. But he's not going to be able to do that this year, man. We're going to be on our shit this year, man. No, facts. Y'all going to run down on the niggas in L.A. Yeah. L.A.? Yeah, it's going to be a good time.
Starting point is 00:54:23 I'm always with the good times. But now I'm like, you know, we're not going to take too much more of your time, but I'm hype for you. I'm excited for you all season. I'm happy you got to deal too. The Horn is going to be, they're going to be something to be working with. Like, B. Miller, man, he was one of my, when I used to scout, I didn't go to many, many games, but I seen him play. You spoke high on him, too. I did.
Starting point is 00:54:48 I thought he was special. I remember not to tut his horn or none. but when I seen him, he had a scrimmage game. He had 30 in their preseason scrimmage game, and I watched it. And I was like, people weren't talking much about him. I'm like, hey, it's a kid from Alabama, man, I think might be the best player we're not talking about. And they was like, oh, yeah, he can play, he can play, said he can play. I'm like, no, I think he might be the best player in the draft.
Starting point is 00:55:15 And they were like, shit. You know what I mean? People shit, shit, shit. And the year goes on, all of a sudden he's shit at top. out pick. It's like, damn, I know I got an eye for something. So when I see y'all, I'm like, yeah, y'all got a lot of potential to be a really special team.
