All right, everybody, welcome into our Monday podcast. Nick Wright, 30 minutes of big laughs, AB discussion, Joe Burrow discussion, Odell Beckham discussion. I'm going to go about four or five minutes before I get into Nick because we've got great stuff with him. Here's my thoughts on Antonio Brown. Listen, I guess you should always err on the side of compassion or empathy when a guy melts down. But with Antonio Brown, he's never shown contrition and everybody keeps enabling him.

He treats women poorly. He robbed a delivery truck. He faked a vaccination ID card. He has treated so many people poor. that there are going to be people out there that say, yeah, he had a meltdown. But he's been enabled over and over and over and over. And I'm not a mental health specialist. So you err on the side of caution.

But whereas players like Josh Gordon, people really put their arms around him. Josh was a good guy that struggled with an addiction, right? A, B. No contrition, never apologetic, mocks others, blames the media for starting the drama. And I know nobody cares about the media, but just Wikipedia, Antonio Brown and how he's treated people, expelled in college at Florida International, robbing delivery truck people, stiffing other people. never so much as an ounce of sympathy for any of those people. He's simply very hard to feel bad for. Team structure matters. I mean, football has a playbook the size of a small town phone book.

And he has crossed the line so many times. Mike Evans made a concerted effort to help him on the Tampa Bay Buccaneer side. line, wouldn't listen to him. Ariens asked him to go in multiple times. Wouldn't listen to him. And look, I get Tom Brady saying, don't judge. Boy, it would be a lot easier to put your arms around somebody who gave me any indication. He cared about anybody beyond himself.

Tom Brady allowed him to move into his house with his family. family, taking off his shirt, that's the respect he paid for Tom Brady. Those actions. At some point, Antonio Brown has to be responsible. At some point, people in this league will stop enabling him. All right. Nick Wright, co-host, first things first joins me. You know, I've said this before.

When you used to watch American Idol or The Voice, you can tell in 10, 12 seconds, who's got talent. I listened to your tape when it came out. I listened to 90 seconds. I told Jamie Horowitz, I'm like, yeah, hire him. It doesn't take long. Justin Herbert behind the second worst offensive line in the NFL through for 30 touchdowns. You're like, oh, okay, he's great. Joe Burrow, it doesn't take much.

That's why I'm tough on Baker Mayfield. It's like you don't get four coaches. Like, we know you're not special. You watch Burrow today every snap. I'm sorry, but it can't, I mean, Jamar Chase is amazing, but his touch, his confidence. He is really, he and Herbert have this ability. Emma Holmes does to some degree, but he doesn't throw a lot of picks that Burrow and Herbert,

Andrew Luck could do this. No memory. They just don't care. Oh, for sure. Who do you like more, Burrow or Herbert? Because I still like Herbert more, even after today, even after watching, you know, Joe Burrow with the assistance of five very kind officials or torch my team. I still like I still in a vacuum I think I'd rather have Herbert but now Herbert even though he has great weapons he doesn't have Jamar Chase and Jamar Chase is unbelievable man so like maybe Burrow plus Chase is better than Herbert plus anyone he's got they're very different Herbert's bigger stronger with a better arm but more mechanical Herbert is a easy loose Tony Romo uh

less mechanical, little twitchy or athletically, doesn't have the arm strength, although it's better than last year. So it depends on what you want. They really are different. One's a big, classic pocket who could run with a massive arm, easy thrower, 30, 40-yard balls. Burrow doesn't have that arm,

but not nearly as mechanical. He's very fluid. So I'm a fan of both. Burroughs got more swag. I think Burrough's got a little more Burroughs got a little more I don't know, I think I'm sure they're both confident

but Burrow doesn't seem like a moment's ever too big for him. Like Burrow, Burrow has a little cool to him that Herbert, I don't know, and maybe just because Herbert looks so young because he is young.

He still kind of has, I'm not trying to be rude here, but he's still kind of has like the imperfections on his face like a kid does. Burrow is out here, been smoking cigars in the locker room for years now.

But he and Jamar, that was something else today. And by the way, let me say something. I understand the league MVP award because the V is in it, valuable. It basically has to go to a quarterback. I get that. Offensive rookie of the year should not be in that same category. Agree. Who is the best rookie on the offense and on the defense?

It's got to be Jamar Chase now. Jamar Chase has the most yards ever for a rookie. the second most touchdowns ever for a rookie. He just had the greatest receiving game ever for a rookie, beating out Randy Moss on, I think it was on Thanksgiving. I think Jamar Chase should went off into rookie the year. They won the division. He has 1,400 yards.

I think he's the offensive rookie the year. Are you at all concerned? You didn't get, there was that obvious illegal motion by the Bengals down in their territory, not called. Anything about Kansas City, the, ease in which Jamar Chase abused your corners. Does that concern you? It would have concerned me if there wasn't the two months of football leading up to it, because this Chief's defense looked like the Chiefs defense from the first month of the season,

Chiefs' Stevens from a couple years ago. I have faith that this was an outlier. Here's what does concern. Unless the Texans can beat the Titans, now they're the two-seat. And it's not that I think they're going to lose round one. It's just the extra game, the extra time. for someone to get hurt, the less rest. Mahomes has never played a round one playoff game. He's never played a road playoff game or around one playoff game. He's been two Super Bowls. Every playoff game he's plays in divisional rounder conference championship or Super Bowl,

and they've all been in Can City. Now, as the two seed, I still think he won't ever have to go on the road because I don't think the Titans are going to make the conference championship game. But it's a costly loss, Colin, to costly loss because now you have the not only the extra game, but you also now have to play your guys all through next week's game against Denver. And Denver's no good, but they've got people on defense that can hurt you. The Chiefs lost, you know, just things to watch. Orlando Brown was a game day scratch, their left tackle.

And then Lucas Nyang, their backup tackle got carded all. So like this is the thing with football. Like you don't want to play extra games and you don't have to. I still think they're clearly the best team in the league. I still think that and we'll see what Green Bay looks like. Green Bay will have played by the time this is out there, but we're doing this before Green Bay plays. But go ahead.

Here's the one thing, though. Look at the quarterbacks that are going to make the playoffs. Josh Allen, Justin Herbert, Joe Burrow. I mean, there are some, there are players that can literally make plays you can't defend. Like Kansas City should win. But all the, I mean, honestly, the NFC is all the old guard. the AFC is all the most talented. Have you gave me the three most talented quarterbacks in the league today?

I would be like, I guess Kyler. And then I would go like Josh Allen, Herbert. For young guys you're saying. Yeah, Joe Burrow. It's like they're all gunslingers. They all have short memories. They can all move. So the AFC three weeks ago, I would have just said blowout, blowout coast.

And I'm like, it'll be interesting. That's how I feel this morning. It'll be interesting. But so your point on the AFC quarterbacks is why. And I know you love what they've built in the indie. And I respect it a lot. And the whole country, you know, bows to the altar of Belichick.

But that's why I can't take the cults or patriots seriously as they could win the Super Bowl. I agree. I'm sorry, just get to the Super Bowl. Right. It's one thing to coach so well and build your team so well that you can overcome having the inferior quarterback in a playoff game. But for the cults or the Patriots, they will be on the road every game of the playoffs and have the inferior quarterback every game of the playoffs. I don't think you can go three for three in that spot.

I don't think you can have the worst quarterback be on the road and win these games. And so even if, like, if you put Burrow or Herbert on the Colts roster, that's the best team in football. You put Burrow or Herbert with Belichick and the Patriots, that might be the best team in football. But Wince is hard to overcome. And I know Mack Jones looked great today, but we saw what Mack Jones was the previous couple of weeks. Like, if everything's not going just right, he can't overcome it. And so that's why I just don't think either one of those teams is a real threat to go on a deep playoff. So it's interesting, you know, you're talking of quarterbacks.

You watch Kyler, Kyler Murray against Dak today. And Kyler was so good in the second half on third down. He was just so great. And, you know, you know, playoff football is third down football. That's what it is. It's third down football. And I watched Burrough today. And I watched Mahomes.

And I watched Herbert. And I watched Kyler. And I've said this about Dak. They're six and five against everybody in the league, not in the NFC East. They have a B plus quarterback and a B plus coach. And so I really do respect what they've done. But today was another great example is that when you get into a showdown, when Dak gets into a showdown and maybe falls behind or they can't run,

like we know Tua's notches below DAC, but it does feel like you've got this group of young guys like Tua. Drew Locke. And then there's these other guys that are really nice young quarterbacks. Dak is in that group. And then there are so many. So you think the young guys have already, you think Herbert Burrow, Kyler have already jumped deck?

Absolutely. Absolutely as talents. As talents. Wow. Oh, yeah. I mean, come on. 35 touchdowns for Herbert year two with his second coach. I mean, come on.

Dad didn't look good today. This is a rough spot for Dak. man, I know they just scored a thousand on Washington and they had won four in a row, but it was against shit teams. Dak has, since Dak threw the touchdown pass to beat the Patriots and hurt his calf, he has not been the same guy. And I know people bang on him for the, you know, record against teams above 500. Like they bang on Stafford.

And Stafford, by the way, didn't look too great today either. They won despite him. This is a, to me, this was a bad loss by Dallas, not a surprisingly. I thought Arizona was a little undervalued going into this week, but this was a bad loss by them. Aaron Rogers. Now let's count all the young ones, all in that sort of Mahomes, in the league four years or less. Okay. I believe there's four or five quarterbacks that can go toe to toe with Mahomes. I'm not saying they can beat him,

but they can play from behind. Kyler, Herbert, Burrow, Josh Allen. I do not think Dak is one of those. I do not think Baker is one of those. I don't think Jalen hurts is one of those. Jaylen, I would say, is definitely not. By the way, I'm not, I'm not sure Lamar Jackson is. I'm not sure.

I'm not. But I will tell you this, when I watch Mahomes and I think, okay, next 10 years, can go to Kansas City and win, can get in a shootout and win, can have no running game and win, can trail him late and win. Josh Allen can, Burrow can, Herbert can. Kyler can. That's how I feel. So my concern with Kyler is, I do not think it's coincidence that he's the smallest quarterback ever and he has worn down at the end of every year. I think those two things are directly related and I think there is a chance that someone his size playing his style

is not built to last a 16 game season, much less now we've got a 17 game season and now we're talking to 20 game season. So Kyler, I'm concerned there. Herbert Allen Burrow, to me, and I know everyone thinks I, you know, I hate Josh Allen, I would far and away rather have for the next decade, Herbert and Burrow than Allen. Alan is older, has more experience and still has days like today where he's just making, the only way they can lose that game is if he makes impossible mistakes. And he made three of them. He made three awful mistakes.

Now, he also, if we were doing the old, you know, Randall Cunningham-style quarterback challenge that he used to do Pro Bowl weekend, he'd probably beat all of them in it. He'd probably zipping with them when they had the paint on the football end of the targets. He'd probably win that. He'd throw it a lot further than them. But I think Herbert and Burrow already are less likely to make the crushing mistake than Josh Allen is. And what those teams have the benefit of, because they're younger, they've got a couple extra years of those guys cheap. as opposed to Josh Allen, who's starting next year, going to be the second highest paid player in the whole league.

So I do think, I don't like Justin Herbert's in Mahomes' division. I'm not a big fan of it. Don't like it. And Joe Burrow, being in the conference, I didn't enjoy it today. By the way, this is not a critique at DAC, but it's very fair now. The best year he had as a cowboy was year one. They were led by the run game. his second best year is this year.

They're led by the defense. So in two separate occasions in your career, your best teams are led by other units. Mahomes' best year, he let them. When this team struggled this year, defense was fine. Defense got good. Two weeks ago, Mahomes got good. It's like, okay, they're the best team.

Like, the great quarterback, as good as the defense was, I get Brady Super Bowl Atlanta, Brady, Super Bowl, Seattle. It's Brady with a ball late that wins the game. The Patriot defense isn't there. So that's my thing about DAC is we've got evidence now after five, six years. Like when the Cowboys are great, he's less crucial.

Is that fair? The other thing that's fair. And the other thing that's fair with Dallas is you've got folks like me that have been hammering Mike McCarthy on the game management stuff. And today, it gets tricked by Cliff Kingsbury, who is not exactly Vince Lombardi out there. But Kingsbury sends out Kyler and Matt Prater. The Cowboys don't know what to do with it. So they have to burn a timeout. You burn a second half timeout in a game you're about to be trailing by two scores.

That's a critical timeout to burn. They burn it. What happens late in the game? Now, I don't, A, you definitely would have liked to have the timeout. But B, also, it would have allowed you to challenge that. Maybe you win it, maybe you don't. But at the very least, the game wouldn't have been over right there because you would add your time out.

you it is it's weird for me a chiefs fan with Andy Reid as my coach to say that can just kneecap but I'm telling you like the folks and thinking oh McCarthy is going to get better at this no he's not he's not going to get better at it now you can overcome it the way he overcame it by having Aaron Rogers the way Andy Reid overcame it by having Patrick Malmes but he's never going to get better at this stuff and I think I don't think Dallas has a big enough margin for error You're not going to win these playoff games and blowouts. They're going to be close games that are going to come down to these, you know, minute decisions and moments.

That really worries me for Dallas, that their quarterbacks not playing his best football and their coaches, how many times this year have we talked about McCarthy messing up the clock at the end of the first tap at the end of the game that happened again today. Now, maybe they lose anyway, but that's a, that's a, if I'm a Cowboys fan, that concerns me greatly, greatly. Well, Andy Reed and Mahomes, that's a great show. chef that can overcome average service. I mean, that's what it comes down to.

If your quarterback is Aaron or Mahomes, they're your chefs. You don't have to have the best service in town or the best location. Well, the other thing, let me say one other thing about McCarthy. And I don't mean to bang on the guy. But it's got to mean something. Green Bay. And they're 13 and 3 every year. They're like, he's gone.

And like, now maybe Matt LaFour is the greatest coach ever. Or maybe it was just like, yeah, when you have Aaron Rogers and you're not, in the toughest division in the world, you should be the one of the two seed every year. And that's what Green Bay has been since he's left. They have the buy every year. They're the one seed. They're going to be in the conference. I can't say they're going to be in the conference championship game,

but I believe they're going to be in the conference championship game at least again. Like if the moment, I almost, you know, it's funny because we were talking about this on Friday's TV show. And I almost used this exact example, but I thought you'd get mad at me. Like I didn't think you'd want me to say it on the air. but I almost the if I don't what I wanted to say I'll say to you now is if the moment Colin left afternoons at ESPN radio the ratings soared that would kind of be a ding on his resume instead he's gone and they haven't figured it out for six years like that right his resume if the moment McCarthy leaves they're like a super well coached team that's always 13 and three that's got to

hurt your resume that's got to hurt you or you at least a little bit yeah no question and the ratings have never recovered. That is absolutely true. Never. Never. I mean, they just keep, they're rolling through everyone. They've tried everyone but me, but they're not available. So here's my takeaway on AB. Every time AB goes sideways, the media rushes out and goes, hey, be the empathetic mental health issues. And I would say, it could be, although none of us are qualified to say that. But I've heard that now four different times. He was kicked out of Florida international. He was a problem in Pittsburgh and in Oakland and in New England and in Tampa. And he keeps being enabled by Bruce Ariens, by Tom Brady, by Bill Belichick, by Central Michigan.

So I'm not a mental health expert. We should always err on the side of compassion. But every time there's a mistake, we rush to, hey, don't be too harsh. But then somebody gives them another job. So it can't be both. Like, where do you fall on the AB situation? Listen, it is, it is absolutely possible and maybe even likely that part of Antonio Brown's issue stem from some either diagnosed or undiagnosed mental health issue. By the way, I think that's probably true. Almost all of us, just varying degrees. Almost all of us, whenever we make bad decisions that are obviously bad decisions, it stems from something, either in our past or in our brain chemistry or whatever it is.

But we are still expected to be adults while we're at work. We're still expected to treat people with respect, to not stiff people out of thousands of dollars, to not do, you know, to not create, commit federal crimes and via fake vaccination cards, all of these things.

And I think one would have more empathy if when he had the opportunity, when he's called on it or when he has to come to account for any of these things, if he showed any accountability. If he said, listen, I screwed up huge. I'm incredibly sorry. I'm struggling with a lot of things here. I can't promise you I won't.

Like people, I know mental health is different than substance abuse. But people didn't, Josh Gordon kept stepping on the same rake, metaphorically speaking. And people did not crush him for it because Josh Gordon was after in the beginning, kind of being standoffish about what his issues were and weren't. he then he was vulnerable and you know and say hey listen this is something i'm dealing with i'm struggling with i'm doing my best and tonyo brown's done none of them and of all i know compassion is not a limited resource but i feel like i only have you know access to so much of it at any given moment i'm not going to waste a ton of it on tonyo brown he's gotten more chances than 99% of people

ever would he does his best to squander him it seems like he treats people terribly yeah Maybe criminally. He doesn't seem like a good guy at all. It is baffling to me. The affinity Tom Brady seems to have for him. To me, it's one of the biggest indictments on Brady. There aren't many. But it's such an odd guy to want to put your arm around as publicly as he has.

And no, like I, Antonio Brown, I, Colin, do you think, I think he ended his NFL career today. I think his NFL career is over. Yeah, I think it is too. And I think your point is well taken is that, um, I mean, you can go back to expelled in college. I think he robbed a delivery truck driver, the fake vaccination ID. This is somebody that treats people poorly. There was the guy that he stiffed, which isn't criminal, but is a horrible thing to do.

And has seemingly credible sexual assault allegations against him. So I'm to the point where, you know, people jump to the mental health issue. Well, then stop giving him chances. If it's mental health, stand by that and get him health. I just think he's been enabled over and over and over. And we all understand people with great talent get second and third chances. We're on like five. We're way, Pat, like just in the last, forget everything since college.

Since the Steelers moved on from, let's say he was on strike zero, you know, up until the Steelers moved on from it. There was the entire, with the Raiders, he's checking his bank balance during position group meetings. and you know, remember he had the smuggled the old helmet and painted the helmet that he did all that, send out those tweets, then goes to the Patriots, blows it there, sends out those awful tweets, then has really bad allegations against him on his way

out of New England. And right before he signed with Tampa, he alleged there was the thing you're talking about, the delivery truck, there was breaking the surveillance camera outside the security guard stand allegedly, then the vaccination card. And now, Colin, I can't remember the last time an NFL guy of any stature, good or bad mediocre, did this.

I can't remember a guy disroving and walking across the field mid-game. I mean, I'm watching the game. I've been watching NFL football for 25 years. I remember Vante Davis retiring at halftime. I remember that. That wasn't as bad as this. This is, this is. And then, and you probably didn't see it.

he's on whoever his driver was who picked him up from the game. He's on that guy. He's either TikTok or IG after the game laughing about it. Like, no, I mean, I don't, he is talented. He is not to me talented enough to overcome this. Which by the way, and I don't know where if you were trying to segue here. However, it does remind me why I always thought it was so unfair when people compare to Antonio Brown to Odell Beckham Jr.

who's having quite the renaissance, my friend, now that he's out of the yoke of Cleveland. By the way, he made two spectacularly huge catches. One, I think it was fourth down, one for the touchdown. Yeah, like it was not, it was situationally. You can argue he made the two biggest catches of the game. And here's the thing. They don't need him for volume.

I mean, Cooper Cups a machine. And is there ever been a player? that not only has 150 catches, but is seemingly wide open on almost everyone. Wide open. And I know they have Beckham, so you have to pay attention to Beckham, but it's not like they have six weapons out there.

Robert Wood's still out there. They have an amazing tight. Like you would think that teams would say we're going to double cup and deal with the rest of it. But Cup is great. He's an excellent player. By the way,

hot take, don't send this out on social. There's just for people listening to the whole pod. Cooper Cup's a little underrated because he's white. like let's be honest. Cooper Cup gets a little of the Julian Edelman, West Welker, treatment because he's a white receiver. He is a great, he's not a great white receiver.

He's a great wide receiver. He's really, really good. He's really good. Yeah. Great hands, great routes. And he's one of those guys that gets to his top speed really fast. He's at his top speed. You know, people forget, Jerry Rice was the same.

Jerry Rice ran a four, five, five, four, six. he got to his top speed and a step. And a lot of guys, it takes time. Cooper just is off and running. But it's interesting. Because Cooper is such a high volume receiver, they just need OBJ situationally. And it's perfect.

He had like four targets, three catches, and that's fine because Van Jefferson gives you six targets and four catches. And Cooper gives you 13 targets and 11 catches. And they have good capable tight ends. So it's one of those things where, A, Stafford's much better than Baker. B, there is no, he's not a talking point. Just come in and make it work. But C, at this point in his career, he's not going to be your one.

But it can be a fantastic elite situational wide receiver. And it is such, I know that, listen, the Browns play Monday night. And I know you don't even talk about Baker anymore. But it is really bad for him. that Odell is now making scoring touchdowns every week when he scored one touchdown like every three months while he was in Cleveland that he's making these types of plays. And yeah, I mean, Odell,

I do think Odell can be a number one. I don't think he's still a top five receiver in the league, but I think he absolutely can still be a number one. But man, here's the other thing that I just realized because the Rams could have lost, but they found a way to win. The Bucks should have lost, but found a way to win against.

It's a terrible team. The Cowboys were obviously playing the best team of those three teams, but they lost. Right now, you know what the playoffs are set as? The Cowboys are the four. Arizona's the five. We'd be getting this game again in the first game of the playoffs. What a desire. Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.

When it looked 72 hours ago, like they were very alive for the one seat, 72 hours ago, seven hours ago, seven hours ago, looked like they were very alive for the one seat. What a disaster. Yeah.

You know, it's funny about, I was thinking about this. If you start looking at the, this is really interesting. If you start looking at the quarterbacks that are leading divisions right now, it is Stafford, Kyler Murray, Aaron Rogers, Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes. Josh Allen, Herbert will make it in, maybe Derek Carr, you have Tannahill and Dack, and those are both teams that defense leads them, good running games. It's interesting with Stafford, though, because I immediately put him in the excellent quarterback category. And here's why. So this was a classic, classic Stafford. Pick six, bad decisions.

But his ceiling is so high. He was 14 for 14 in the second half. Every big play, he was perfect. A Cooper cut 20-yard game. The Odell throws. Goff gave you the pick sixes. But Stafford's going to end up. Goff last year, 20 touchdown passes.

Stafford's going to end up with 40. And he's also going to have at least four, maybe five times the number of three touchdown games. So when we were kids, Dave Kingman was an odyssey, struck out her home run. Analytically today, Dave Kingman, what everybody wants. He's Cody Bellinger. He's an MVP, strikeout or home run. So Stafford years ago would have been a disaster. But his teams increasingly get into the 28, 30, 32, 32, 33 points is I can live with the mistakes.

I just don't get enough ceiling with Goff and Wentz and Tannehill. So in general, I agree with the general point. I'm not quite as high on Stafford as you, but the general point of with my quarterback, what I care about more than anything is sealing, I a thousand percent agree with. It's why, and I understand today, Mac Jones's team beat Trevor Lawrence's team by a thousand points, and Mac Jones looks like an NFL quarterback and Trevor Lawrence looks lost. I understand all of that. But the idea that if you were to redraft, you would take Mac Jones out of Trevor Lawrence to me is insane. Because Trevor Lawrence has a legitimate star level ceiling. Mac Jones, out of Absolutely does not.

Now, maybe Trevor Lawrence won't ever get there. It's possible he could get ruined in Jacksonville. It's possible Trevor Lawrence will never have a year in his career as good as the one Mac Jones is having right now. I guess that's possible. But I want ceiling. And it's why I think some teams still kind of hold out hope for Wins. Because Wintz does have the ceiling.

It's just that his basement is so low. Like Wintz's mistakes are so crippling. But you do see the ceiling is high with him so people hold out hope with him. Okay, before we go, we just gave everybody 25 minutes. I want five minutes basketball. I had this discussion with a friend the other day is the regular season. David Stern would say this privately. The late David Stern, the commissioner is the truth is nobody watches our regular seasons. They just talk about it. They talk about us. We're a great story league and a great highlight league.

They watch us in the conference finals and the finals. And the data suggests that's true. So we know Phoenix is good. We know Milwaukee's good and we know Brooklyn is talented. Nobody's watching what's happening at Golden State. So Jordan Poole has emerged. They've got a couple of young kids who are sensational, wildly athletic. Steph is playing at a Steph level.

Draymond's having an exceptional year. Clay's coming back. People aren't, I've watched Golden State three times in the last two weeks. each time I'm like on their best nights they're beating Phoenix beating Utah like going on the road I don't think people are outside of the Bay Area I think they're the best team in the league and I didn't think that two months ago oh I think they have a really strong case to the best in the league the other team that all of a sudden has that case that I thought you were going to it was the one you're going to mention in Chicago Chicago all of a sudden they did an offseason that

Nobody believed in, and it's all paying off, getting Caruso, getting Lanzo, getting DeRosen. Okay, so let me push back, though. They were going to be a great regular season team because they have mostly B plus players who were abandoned and have something to prove. I totally agree with you. The Warriors have titles. Draymond, Steph, regular season, Clay is not playing. They're just blowing people out. Like Chicago was fairly predictable.

Listen, we all know this. Like they, Caruso's like, F you Lakers. And, you know, Zach Levine's a great player, but has always been doubted. DeMarge Rosen's one of the best players that nobody wants. They, we all knew they were athletic. But what Golden State's doing without Clay is. Well, that's the key. To me, Clay is the most interesting and important.

You could make an argument, Clay's the most important player in this NBA season. Because if he comes back and he is 75. percent of what he once was, Colin, they have to be the huge favorites. Because right now they are, you could make the argument of the favorites without him. These other contenders are going to be making moves at the deadline, either buyout guys or trading, meaning they will be taking something away to try to get something better. The Warriors are just going to be adding something with no cost whatsoever. If he is, and again, it's a big is.

because to an ACL and in the Killies, we don't know what he's going to look like. And I know they would have liked that and played by Christmas. And the fact that he didn't, to me, is a little concerning. But if he is still just, if he is a B version of his previous self,

oh, they're going to be tough to beat, man. They're going to be tough to be. Like, even with, and let me say one other thing about this NBA season, whether people are paying attention or not, because Friday night, LeBron had 43 and 14. with zero turnovers.

He was sensational. Colin, he's the two leading scores in the league this year. Leading scores in the league are Kevin Durant, LeBron James. LeBron's averaging the most points he's averaged in the season since the first time he was in Cleveland. In the month of December, the whole month, he averaged 31, 7, and 8 on 56% shooting. It is, if the Lakers don't get it together. if they just squander what will probably be the last truly great LeBron's season.

It's unconscionable. Just it's unbelievable that LeBron is, this is the best in the regular season. He's played as a Laker. This is the best regular season he's had since his final year in Cleveland. And they are a game under 500. Just like now Anthony Davis come back. We'll see what they do with Russ.

My God. If Russ cost the Lakers in the same year, Baker Mayfield cost the Browns, I don't even know if I'll be able to talk to you anymore. It might end our friendship. All right, buddy. First things first, Nick Wright. Listen, this morning as you listen to our podcast.
