This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Last night, a blown call changed a game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind,
and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
That's where Sports Slice comes in.
I'm Timbo, and every episode,
we're cutting through the noise,
breaking down the biggest moments in sports
and giving you the real story behind the headline.
And we're going straight to the source,
the athletes themselves,
their locker room stories, their reactions in the moment,
and the stuff nobody gets to hear.
Listen to Sports Slice on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.

Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smigel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and Friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

about all kinds of stuff like being an internet famous referee we're in the middle of a game
this linebacker this linebacker walks up to me he goes a ref my mom wants you to wave at her what
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue with 42.
Hey, Rhett, my mama want you to weigh better.

Ah, here we go on a loaded Friday.
This is The Herd.
Wherever you may be and however you may be listening,
we are live in Los Angeles on IHeart Radio,
Fox Sports Radio, and FS 1, 1 hour from now.
I think it's my favorite blazing five of the year.
Our NFL picks, we have an absolutely packed show today.
One of the stars of the Minnesota Vikings defense.
They have a bye week.
He's in town.
Joining us in the second hour.
Joy Taylor is joining me.
Joy, how are you?
I'm great.
Good morning.
Happy Friday.
Happy Friday, everybody.
Here we go into a huge week.
And sometimes we get it right.
Yesterday we predicted what happened and it happened.
And it not only happened, it happened exactly as we predicted one day ago at this very time.
I said, Indianapolis is going to do everything right.
Houston won't.
but Houston will win because they have a special quarterback.
And that's exactly why Tua will not fall in the draft.
Indianapolis last night dominates time of possession, fewer penalties.
They don't have a turnover.
Great game plan.
Excellent on third down, smart and lost.
Houston gets dominated time of possession.
O for two in the red zone.
More penalties.
The game's only turnover.
Didn't get many first downs.
Lousy, O for two on fourth.
they win because they got Deshaun Watson.
That is why Tua is not going to drop in the draft.
That is why in the last 10 quarterbacks picked in the first round,
nine teams have moved up to get them.
Houston has five, one possession wins this year.
Translation, guy making plays, playing quarterback.
There's a saying in finance, you can't save yourself to wealth.
You max your Sep IRA, you max your 401k,
you pay off your house, you pay off your car.
That's not going to make you wealthy.
It'll be solid, safe, content, you're protected.
That's the Colts.
They max their 401K.
You know, they put their money away.
They don't have a car payment.
They're very frugal.
They're very smart.
And you can live a very nice retirement.
Play golf a couple times a week.
You want to get rich?
You got to go all in on one stock.
Major transaction, major risk.
You push everything to the front of the table.
and Tua with an injury?
A little bit of risk there.
A little small, a little bit of risk.
I don't know.
Somebody's going to say, I'm all in on Tua,
and you're going to get Deshaun Watson, Tua, Russell Wilson.
You got to take a little risk with Lamar Jackson.
He runs a lot.
He may get hurt, Baltimore.
We're all in.
Arizona.
Josh Rosen, safe pocket quarterback.
We're going to take a 5-9 guy.
We're all in.
Look at the teams now flourishing.
They went all in.
They took risks.
They went with a quarterback that's a little small.
Jimmy Garoppolo had had an injury in New England.
Here we are.
Last night's a great example.
The Colts are just, there's an old book called The Millionaire Next Door.
They just pay off their bills.
They have no debt.
They have excellent credit.
They've maxed their 401k.
And they will retire to a nice community, play golf, early bird specials.
Terrific.
But if you want to go, if you want to end up on the big house on the hill,
And go on the big ski vacations.
You got to roll the dice.
And, you know, Deshawn Watson people, I don't know.
Deshawn is he.
He runs around and I don't know.
But that game last night is, that's Deshaun Watson.
That's what he does.
They didn't do a lot right.
Even their clock management, I swear to God.
Bill O'Brien clearly was never given a watch as a child as a Christmas present.
He can't figure the clock out.
Here we are this morning.
For the record,
here's the quarterbacks who lead their division in the NFL.
Tom Brady, Lamar Jackson, Deshawn Watson, Patrick Mahomes,
Dak Prescott, Aaron Rogers, Drew Brees, Jimmy Garoppolo,
and then Russell Wilson's the best non-division leader.
Got to be special at quarterback, folks.
You got to be special.
Tu is special.
DeShon special.
Jacoby Brissette's solid.
He has maxed his Sepyra.
He is solid.
All right, let me shift to this.
So it is, what's the date today?
We got November what?
20 second.
22nd.
So Christmas is about a little over a month.
A little over a month away.
Congratulations to all of you in Dallas.
You're going to be putting up your trees.
Probably it's at the Friday after Thanksgiving.
We put up our tree at our house.
And it's nice to know the Cowboys,
you already have a present under your tree.
You don't know it yet, but you do.
Muhammad Sunu will not play.
New England against the Cowboys.
You won.
You won.
New England, I don't care about their winning streak at home.
Streaks all end.
It's ending Sunday.
You've already got a present under your tree.
Day after Thanksgiving.
We all put our trees up.
You've already got a big, and that's a put a bow on it.
It's a win over New England and Foxborough.
It's yours.
New England has been reduced now to Julian Edelman.
no deep threat, third kicker, worst offensive line in over 10 years, no Mohammed Sanoo,
and B running backs.
It's over.
I don't care.
This is now a personnel mismatch.
For the record, this story surfaced yesterday.
We talked about it.
We didn't think it was a coincidence.
Patriots have kicked the tires on Antonio Brown.
Why?
Because they're desperate and they know it.
Dallas is going to win Sunday.
They're going to go to seven and four.
Philadelphia, my hunch, loses to Seattle.
Dallas will have a two-game lead over Philadelphia.
They'll have the tiebreaker because they beat the Eagles.
And Monday will be a great day in Dallas and a great day at Fox Sports
because we have the Super Bowl and we'd love to see Dallas in it.
What do we always say?
Three words in the NFL.
What matters?
Just win Sunday.
Dallas, you got a present.
They're going to be on their way Sunday night to winning their third division title in four years.
You'll have the best offensive line in football.
You'll have arguably the best running back in football.
You can feel proud and secure that Dat Prescott is your franchise quarterback.
You absolutely have first, second or third best weapons.
Maybe Minnesota is better in the NFL.
And Jason Garrett by Sunday night, you're going to be saying this.
You know, I don't love him, but he does win a lot of games.
You got an early Christmas present.
Muhammad Sunu is out for the record now.
Philip Dorset is sort of a game time decision.
So they got to have Gronk.
Josh Gordon from last year's gone.
No Gronk.
Don't have a starting left tackle.
On their third kicker.
There's no blizzard, by the way.
The weather will be, you know, northeast in November.
there's no big blizzard. The weather's going to be fine. Congratulations. I mean, it's over.
I will say this. Can I go in on, do we have the DAC bite? I really like DAC.
Dak Prescott, and this is going to be a game Sunday night, it's going to get the biggest ratings,
the Packers and the 49ers, and the Cowboys and the Patriots, Monday on the show. We're going to talk a lot about those games.
They're going to get massive TV ratings.
Somebody yesterday was asking Dak Prescott about the MVP award.
And I've said before, when you pay a quarterback, a lot of people are freaking out about paying DAC $35 million.
And it is very easy to get in trouble as the Dallas Cowboy quarterback.
It is the number one position in the United States athletically.
Quarterback, Dallas Cowboys.
Oh, it's full of landmines.
A lot of beautiful young girls in Dallas.
No state tax.
You keep a lot of your money.
It's throwing advertisements at you and cars at you and fame at you and nightclubs at you.
I mean, come on now.
Dallas Cowboy quarterback at 25 years old.
I mean, I could barely handle being a sportscaster at 25 years old.
I certainly could have handled that.
No way.
And here is Dak Prescott asked about being the MVP yesterday.
And his whole takeaway was, man, I'm not into that.
That's not my thing.
I just want to win a bunch of games.
And I've said this time and time again.
Look at all these NFL young quarterbacks.
They're so incredibly grown up and humble and mature.
Lamar Jackson, work harder, nobody cares.
Kyler Murray doesn't talk a lot, just wins.
Russell Wilson's Children's Hospital every Tuesday.
Dak Prescott, I'm going to put my hand over my heart during the anthem.
I'm not going to protest.
It's unbelievable.
And the exception, of course, is the guy that you think I hate.
Baker Mayfield. I don't hate Baker Mayfield. But we have a history in this league. Humble,
head-down, hardworking wins at quarterback. And Sunday night's going to be the biggest game in
America. It's going to get massive TV ratings. And Dax's going to play well. And he's going to be
in the MVP race. And right now, Lamar is in the MVP race. And you don't hear a peep. I just want to win
games. I know you're all freaking out about the 35 million that's going to go to
Dak Prescott. Don't. You're in very secure hands. You'll see it again on Sunday night.
All right. Don't forget, 50 minutes from now are Blazing 5. Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson
stops by. Coming up next, the NFL is so cruel. There is a team in the NFL that we absolutely
think is amazing.
and by Sunday, if something happens that I think is likely that it will,
this team is in huge, huge trouble.
And we all loved them a month ago.
And most of you still love them.
And that's coming up.
Be sure to catch live editions of the herd weekdays in noon Eastern, 9 a.m. Pacific on Fox Sports Radio,
FS1, and the IHeart Radio app.

Welcome to my new podcast, Learn the Hardway with me, your host, and your favorite therapist,
Kear Games.
And in recognition of mental health awareness month, I'm bringing over a decade of my own experience
in the mental health field and conversations
with so many incredible guests.
I'm talking.
Trip Fontaine, Ryan Clark.
Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing,
we get so wrapped up in the chase
that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing.
And we're still chasing it.
And we don't know when we've done enough.
Because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross.
Because you find it important to be a good person
while you hear on earth.
Are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely.
And that's two different levels of trust.
I want you to just really be a good person.
Join me, Kear Gaines, is we have real conversations about healing, growth, fatherhood, pressure, and purpose on my new podcast, Learn the Hardway.

This is Cliver Taylor the Fourth.
And on my podcast, The Cliverts Show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff.
Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker walks up to me, he goes,
hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue with 42.
Hey, rep, my mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Hey, Miss Parker.
Listen to the Clippers show on the IHeart Radio app,

If you're watching the latest season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta,
you already know, that's a lot to break down.
Gorsha accusing Kelly of sleeping with a married man.
They holding Kay Michelle back from fighting Drew.
Pinky has financial issues.
I like the bougie style of Housewives show.
I think it looks like it's going to be interesting.
On the podcast, Reality with the King, I, Carlos King,
recap the biggest moments from your favorite reality shows,
including the Real House Wise franchise,
the drama, the alliances, and the team everybody's talking about,
As an executive producer in reality television, I'm not just watching it.
I understand the game.
As somebody who creates shows, I'll even say this.
At the end of the day, when people are at home, they want entertainment.

do apply. Of the many reasons, the NFL is, you know, the number one sport in America,
not really close, is because of urgency. Every game matters. Every Sunday is significant.
You cannot stub your toe in the NFL outside of New England and the AFC East. You can have a
great season and a couple of missed kicks, a crucial penalty, and you're watching the playoffs at home.
There is no load management. There'd be a mutiny in locker rooms. All hands on deck, play hurt,
every game matters. And I'll give you an example.
And this is, in my life, this is what's really happening in sports.
People are watching sports more than ever, but you got to sell them urgency.
This is what hurts baseball in the regular season. There's 162 games.
This is what's hurting the NBA's regular season ratings right now, down 27%.
You got to force urgency.
San Francisco is the glaring example.
Now, think about this.
They won September and October.
I mean, they won it.
They were undefeated.
They were blowing people out.
We were talking about their defensive line being the best ever.
I mean, we would go on the show and we're like,
my God, what is happening in San Francisco?
They're crushing people.
They're humiliating people.
They're currently 9 and 1.
Their only loss to the spectacular Russell Wilson in overtime.
9 in 1.
If they lose to Green Bay Sunday, certainly possible.
And Seattle beats Philly.
The San Francisco 49ers are a.
five seed?
They're going to be a road
wild card team.
No home game, no buy,
no thank you, going to
Lambo or going to Seattle
or Dallas
or going, why, we
dominated the league.
It's an Inches league.
I mean, you would think nine and one
in dominating the first two months of the season
would give you a little
wiggle room. No.
When Sunday or you're a five
seed. No home game, no buy. Go on the road. I mean, it is, this is a football team that is so talented,
so well coach, so well quarterback. And I mean, just think about this. Six months ago,
the Rams were not only kind of the hot team, people were starting to copy the Rams. They're not a
playoff team if they lose Monday night. They're done. It's over. Before we get, before we get to Thanksgiving,
It's over.
So that is why this league, there's a lot of reasons why the ratings, when I look at TV ratings, the NFL is up.
All these young quarterbacks, they're all good kids.
The style of play is so fun for the young quarterbacks.
And man, you've got to watch Sunday.
The whole league, the whole season can change for San Francisco if they don't beat.
And by the way, have you seen their schedule?
This is an absurd schedule.
Not like Sunday gets easier.
So they face the Packers.
Then they're at the Ravens.
Then they're at the Saints.
Then they're at Seattle.
You just get no breaks in this league.
Aaron Rogers talked about Sunday's matchup.
He gets to go home to the Bay where he grew up.
We're all aware of where we're at in the seating going into week 12 and what's in front of us and the opportunities.
You know, there's still a lot of football to be played and a lot can happen.
I think, you know, you're just in denial if you don't think about the implications with, you know, a dub or an L.
week and now that affects stuff down the line. That's what I said. The way we look at it,
we're going to have to win there one time the rest of the year. It'd be nice to get it done this week.
I like Green Bay Sunday. I don't love them. I like them. If the number is three and a half,
four, I'd take Green Bay. They're not one of my blazing five picks. I like Green Bay this weekend.
I think they can run the ball. I think Aaron Jones could be the factor Sunday, not Aaron Rogers,
but I just can't.
The Niners just lost.
They're well coached.
They're at home.
It's hard for me not to like the Niners.
But my gut feeling is Green Bay is going to win that game.
And my gut feeling is Seattle's going to beat Philly.
And my gut feeling is San Francisco's a five-seat NFC by Sunday night.
By the way, Vick-Synex nasal spray, cold and flu season is here.
Nothing works faster.
Vic's Sinex nasal spray.
Here's Joy with the news.
No, no, no, no.
Turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
So LeBron and Anthony Davis have quickly become the best superstar duo in the NBA.
Yeah.
I think it's arguable Kauai and Paul George.
But I think right now LeBron and Anthony Davis have it.
They led the Lakers to the top of the West, the 12 and 2 record.
And AD thinks LeBron's greatness as a teammate starts with his passing.
I mean, he's a great late passer.
You know, when you think he's going to finish.
You know, he's passing the ball to an open man.
And so he had one in the game other day when.
We're probably like two feet from each other.
He threw like an 80-mile fastball to my hand.
I miss.
And that's what makes him so good because he gets to the pain with ease.
And he's still able to find guys.
You know, anytime you've got a guy like him who's selfless
and wants to, you know, make guys better around him,
the chemistry for an entire team is going to be easier.
Well, this is why LeBron's always worked so well with shooters
because he has the ability to push you right under the basket
while going full speed, freight train,
and dish it out to someone like Rehout.
or Mike Miller, and that's the formula.
Remember, when he came into the league, he took a lot of heat.
I always remember at the other place, like, arguing with people.
It's like, this is who he is.
It's not a weakness.
LeBron is the greatest.
I mean, magic's probably the best passer I've ever seen.
But LeBron's very much Larry Bird.
Like, okay, he can score.
LeBron could score 40 a night, but LeBron's game is defined by his vision
and his ability to find the right guy on every play.
We used to say, well, I mean, Michael would take the shot.
Yeah, and Michael was hard to play with.
He burned a lot of people out in D.C. and early in Chicago.
Well, yeah, Michael and LeBron, their games really aren't comparable.
They're not.
Their style of play, not too much about the way that they played the game is comparable.
But I don't love every moment that LeBron has had where he's passed.
Past.
And I know everyone argues, like, you know, you have to live with it if it's the right play.
But if you're the superstar and you're the guy in that moment,
I would rather live with you not making the play than Kyle Corver not making the play.
Right. Not just, no disrespect to Kyle Corver.
Incredible shooter, but Kyle Corver is not LeBron James.
So I will say that.
But while Magic was the most spectacular passer probably in league history,
it's very difficult to not put LeBron just one A because every pass he makes isn't some over-the-top highlight reel.
No, he's not a flashy passer.
But he's just, not only is he, does he always find the look, he's a,
he places the ball where it needs to be on top of that so that the shooter doesn't have to adjust it.
It's right in your hands right so you can just catch and shoot.
And that's, he's right.
That is part of probably this where his game starts when you talk about how excellent he is.
So someone who's been mentioned in the MVP conversation,
but probably should be at the top of the MVP conversation,
if you really think about the numbers he's putting up as Christian McCaffrey.
He's well in his way to having the most productive season for a running back in NFL history.
He's currently on pace to have, yes, 2,523 yards from scrimmage.
That would break Chris Johnson's record of 2,509 yards from scrimmage in 2009 with the Titans.
Dude, he can just, he makes people look terrible.
He's a, he's a superstar.
He really is.
He's also become the youngest player at 23 years old to receive a Madden rating of 99.
He's a sixth running back ever to get that rating.
I mean, you know, it's like Greg Kosell said, too.
He's also an elite receiver.
He's not like a back that you ought, like he does routes.
His dad was a great NFL receiver.
He runs routes.
Yeah, last weekend he became the first player to rush for at least 1,000 yards
and have at least 500 receiving yards in the first 10 games of the season.
So he joined Herschel Walker as the only players with at least 2,500 rushing yards
and at least 2,000 receiving yards in their first three NFL season.
So, I mean, I could spit out numbers for days, but basically he is having an MVP season.
I think if the Panthers weren't having the situations that they're having a quarterback,
we'd be having the conversation about Christian McCaffrey.
He is straight line speed, quick, good hands, has it all.
And he's fun to watch too.
Finally, this happens late last night.
It was kind of strange.
Came out of nowhere, especially since he just said he was retired for sure because his health mattered.
And then Floyd Mayweather posted this on Instagram last night, coming out of retirement in 2020.
Remember he retired after reaching 50 and O in his career after the McGregor fight.
And in his second post, he shared a picture with himself and Dana White with the caption,
Dana White and I working together again to bring the world another spectacular event in 2020.
Well, he never gets hit. He's like Brady. You can keep boxing. He doesn't take a lot of shots.
I mean, he does take, he doesn't. He's the best defensive fighter of all time.
But you're still getting hit while defending yourself. He's just not taking those shots in his face and his neck.
He's still getting hit, though. Let me tell you something. I bailed on Manny Pachial for the Thurman fight. You didn't.
I bailed on Manny Pacquiao.
And 30 seconds into that fight, I'm like, the hell,
Pacquiao was so much better than, I mean,
he was throwing a million punches.
Mayweather has always been in impeccable shape.
He always takes great care of his body.
He still trains, obviously.
So if you have the body and you're at that age,
having the resume that you have, you have an advantage.
That's why I felt like Paco has an advantage,
because it's like Brady.
Everything slows down for you.
There's nothing you haven't seen.
So even when you get in a situation where it's kind of sketchy, you know what's coming next.
Or you can predict what's coming next.
You see three or four steps ahead of a younger, maybe healthier, if you want to say that, opponent.
So I don't know what this all means.
Look, if Mayweather fights again, we're going to watch.
No matter what anybody says.
You can say his fights are boring.
We're going to watch whatever this is.
It could be a McGregor rematch, which I think is what he's hinting at.
But he's going to be 43.
in February. So he will be fighting again
at 43 if that's what this all means. Yeah, it's
very Brady to me. Brady's figured out a way to
not really take big shot. I couldn't tell you the last
time if I said to you last shot Brady's
taken. It's hard to remember it.
I'm not this year. Well, he's
probably the best pocket
presence of any quarterback in league
history. Good old old line, smart coaching
and he's practiced it. I mean, Tom just
listen, your game can dictate
how long you can play. If you're,
if you're, I mean, I'm always amazed
by Peterson, the running back with Washington. Adrian
Peterson. He ran angry for 10 years.
I thought that would not.
Well, you have to evolve with the game and you have to
take care, excellent care of your body.
Mayweather is the greatest defensive fighter of all time.
50 and O speaks for itself. So we'll
see. Joy with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by. The Hurd-Lie News.
Well, he's a Hall of Famer. He's a former
Los Angeles Ram. Great. He played for
a long time, but not like 20 years. Eric
Dickerson is joining us on a Friday, and his
favorite football team is in Big
trouble. Ravens coming to town. Ravens humming, hot, healthy, and feeling great about themselves.
And there's a huge, there's two things you're all fired up on something. So Eric Weddell is a great
NFL player, Chargers Forever. And then he's played a ton of years. And then he goes to the Ravens.
And then the Rams get him for a year. And he has come out Eric Weddle. And I said, I'm not given the Rams
any inside information. I played for Baltimore. It was a great organization. I'm not turning my back on
him even though I'm a ram, I'm not giving up secret sauce, and how does that play for you?
First of all, first of all, Joe, I got to tell you.
I love your hair.
Oh, thank you.
That's that.
That's that.
She does that.
She goes Hollywood 1950s once a week.
Like the 40s.
But, you know, I like Eric Weddle.
I think he's a very good player.
But I don't understand that.
I mean, I don't get that.
He plays for the Rams.
He doesn't play for the Ravens anymore.
It would be like me working for Budweiser, and now I work for Corrador.
and now I work for Corona.
And I want to be salesman of the year.
And if I tell them this, I can be salesman of the year.
You should tell them what they need to know.
I mean, because, look, let's just say it came down to the last series of the game.
And he sees something that he knows that they do.
This is what they like to do is fourth down, 10.
We need to win the game.
You're going to say, I can't tell.
I mean, that just don't make sense to me.
I mean, he plays for the Rams.
And I understand, I mean, if you have a loyalty, you know,
That's how you are.
I get it.
But look, football is football.
It's all about winning football games.
It's not about that, you know,
what I used to play for that team.
I want to be loyal to that team.
Don't work like that.
By the way, I have friends at a place I used to work.
When I came to Fox, I sat down with my bosses here multiple times and said,
here's what ESPN does well.
Here are their weak spots.
There you go.
And by the way, we can get that guy, that guy, her, him, her, him.
We got them all.
I knew who would come, who would not.
That's part of being.
That's business.
That's it.
I mean, that's one to be on top.
Yeah, I don't see it as disloyalty.
But by the way, there is a certain, I don't know, it's very unique.
I've never heard of that before.
I've got to say, I've never heard of him.
I mean, in a way, I kind of admired, but in a way, I'm like, well, if it was on a,
if he's with another team, fine, but we're playing the Baltimore Ravens.
We need all the age we can get this week, to be honest with you.
By the way, there is a story that came out yesterday in regards to,
the $1.8 billion stadium is now at $6 billion.
Chargers aren't selling any tickets.
Stan Cronky is furious with that relationship.
And I've made the comment.
I think the Rams, once LeBron got to town,
the cost overruns on the stadium,
are making business decisions,
as much as football decisions.
Let's get stars, sell tickets.
I look at the Rams today.
And if they lose Monday,
it feels like they're out of the playoffs.
Do you sense a little tension in the room with Todd Gurley?
They sign him early.
It just doesn't, you know this organization.
It feels tense.
There's a little walking on eggshells with Gurley.
No, you know, I don't think that.
I think one thing is, first of all, the charges have the best deal in time.
I mean, they pay $1 to play in that stadium.
They do.
One dollar.
I mean.
That's what they're going to pay.
A dollar a year to play.
A dollar a year.
They got to be, I'm the charges.
I'm happy.
But no.
I don't feel like that.
I just feel like that we never have, we did it, I think, reluctantly, but we did it.
Let's run the football, you know, and I saw it when Sean May Bay first got the job as head coach.
I'm like, I could tell we like to throw the football sometimes too much.
I'll go back to the first year we played, I think, Seattle at home.
And that was a game.
We were running the football very well.
We ended up losing that game because all of a sudden, we stopped running.
the football. Now, it wasn't last year was year before, and start throwing the football.
And I just feel like that sometimes your ego or whatever, that's what you do best.
I think, Sean, he throws the ball better than he runs the football.
And there's some vanity play calling. And he became the hot, cool coach in the league.
And I say we got exposed in Detroit. I really believe we got exposed in Detroit. And that carried
over to, you know, Matt Patricia talking to Belichick, a Belichick talking to Matt Matricia,
Patricia, and we just kind of got caught up in it.
And people say, oh, that's how you get them.
They really don't want to run the football.
They run it, but they don't want to run it.
That play action, just keep watching.
It's not going to really be play action.
I'll play action now.
Like, you know, Sunday, last Sunday night,
the play action was play action because we ran the football a lot.
Yeah, we committed to it.
It was rare.
We really committed to it.
We threw the football 18 times.
And I think that's really hard.
I just my belief, I think it's hard for Sean
McVeigh to really run the football because run the football is not popular at first.
It pays off in the end.
It's not sexy.
It's not appealing.
It's not clever.
We don't, analysts don't talk about it.
No, they're not going to say, oh, man, look how he ran.
It's all about the running back.
And they're going to say, oh, look at this block.
Look at the hook block here.
And he, you know, and he kicked out here.
And it's over.
You want to see, look, oh, this play is like, wow.
I won't forget, I think we played the Arizona Cardinals.
And it was a play where the tight end came out, spun back.
inside. I saw the play. I'm like, man, that was clever. Even my friend who played for Arizona,
we're watching the game at the same time. He said, did you see that play? I said, yeah. He said, man,
that was a hell of a call. That was a hell of a play. See, that's what coaches want to say,
did you see that? Yeah, no, no, no, there's something to be said. They used to say that about
Lane Kiffin. He tends to be a vanity play caller. He wants you to go, wow, instead of just, you know,
and I get that. I think young coaches sometimes do that. Older coaches tend to go back to what
works, which is physical football point of attack.
I want to talk about the matchup of matchups is New England against Dallas.
And I think you cannot win an division repeatedly in this league unless you're a competent
coach.
I think Jason Garrett's clearly a competent coach.
I mean, geez, Rex Ryan got the two AFC championship.
So you can argue that if you have the right personnel, you can go a long way in this
league.
If Dallas loses,
Mohamed Sunu is now out.
Okay, they have a series New England of B running backs.
They have no tight end.
They don't throw it vertically.
Sunu announced today out.
Philip Dorset could be out.
Dallas outside of secondary may have a unit advantage in every unit
except defensively in the secondary.
If Dallas loses and you own the Cowboys,
do you think the mind would be made up for Jerry?
Okay, we just don't.
We're not special.
We're special at quarterback.
We're not special at coach.
I think it could have that resonance if they lose with sinew out,
Dorset out, third string tackle, third string kicker.
I think it's that big.
I really do.
I think it's that big for Jason Garrett.
I mean, I agree.
I mean, but this is three to four years overdue.
I mean, I like Jason.
I mean, it's nothing against Jason, but the Cowboys have had some talented football teams.
And I think this is probably the most talented team.
Yeah.
I mean, Dag Prescott is becoming what I thought
Dag Prescott was going to be.
Yeah, you liked him earlier.
I liked him.
I liked him when the first time I saw him play football,
when I saw him play the Rams in the preseason game,
but I saw him then.
Zeke is still Zeke.
I mean, you know, I hear people say,
he's not hitting the holes right,
and he's not hitting the holes fast as he was.
But that offensive line is knocking open holes either.
But Zeke is still Zeke.
The defense, they're hit and miss at times,
but they still have a really good defense.
Well, they're athletic.
Their defense of the players, very athletic, very fast.
that linebacker, but I feel like that
it's one spot that's hurting them. And I hate to
say it's just the coaching position, the head coach. If you gave
Bill Belichick, the Dallas Cowboy football team, and gave
Jason Garrett, the New England Patriots football team,
he would, this would be a runaway. I mean, that's just.
I don't think you're, and I, and I don't dislike Jason Garrett.
I don't dislike him. I like Jason Garrett. But he doesn't feel special.
John Harbaugh this year, you're like, that special.
Sean Payton going 5-0 without breeze.
That's special.
That's special coaching.
What Andy Reid did to Patrick Mahomes, MVP first year, that's special coaching.
We're always looking for the quarterback to be special.
It's the guys upstairs.
It's the guy on the sidelines.
And you have to find those special guys.
I mean, it's like, you know, people taking Tribisky over Deshaun Watson.
I mean, it's like, what were you looking at over Mahomes?
What were y'all?
What did y'all see?
I mean, that is like, that was ludicrous.
I mean, but, you know, it's certain coaches that they just know.
I look at Bill Belichick.
Bill Belichick is a guy that's almost like, if you want to say a historian of the National Football League,
he is a guy that he gives you, he'll take exactly what you give him.
It's like, okay, we throw the football.
We're throwing football team, but we know you're bad against the run.
So we're not going to throw the football.
We're going to run the football today.
You know, today, you know, you play well against the run.
You play well against the pants, but you really,
really weak at special teams.
We're going to put a lot of concentration
on our special teams today. That's what
to me, that's what just makes him just
a notch above everyone else.
Finally, you love Christian
McCaffrey out of college, and
it's funny because you were a big
fast running back. He was small.
We worried about hits. But I can
remember you saying, this kid at Stanford's
going to be a star.
Eric, he does everything well.
Man, he does everything. He can catch it. He can run it.
I won't forget when I first son, because I don't
watch a lot of college football.
Right.
So in my house and I'm about to leave my best friend, he said, man, you've seen Christian McCaffrey
but I said, no.
He said, coming on here, he said, check him out.
I said, okay, so I was getting dressed.
I said, let me watch him play a couple plays.
Carl, and I watched one series and I'm like, oh, I say, this white boy can play football.
I said it just like that.
I said, I don't care what color he is, he can run that, in college, he can run the rock.
He can run, he's fast, he's durable.
Because a lot of people say, ah, he's too little running between the tackles, he won't
last, he can do it all.
I mean, and the sad, you know the sad thing is
he's on an average
football team. If he was playing
for the 49ers, what, 9-1,
with the newly Patriots who were 9-1.
He could be MVP. He'd be MVP.
He's having that kind of season. And it's
sad that they go look at your football team
and not what you do. Because
without him on this football team, they may have
one game. Yeah, he is
also, Greg Kosell comes on our show,
and Greg O'SSays says, he's actually,
he's one of the best route runners. He's
You know, his dad, you know his dad.
His dad was receiver, right.
Ed McCaffrey.
Right, right.
And who Charles Woodson tells me was the hardest guy to cover.
And I'm like, Ed McCaffrey, he goes, weird.
He goes.
Lanky had a weird.
He goes, everybody looked at it.
He goes, I would match it with him McCaffrey.
And it's like, that guy gave me nothing but trouble.
And he said, he goes, Ed runs way better than people think.
Christian just outruns everybody.
Christian's got some track in him.
He got some track.
He can catch that ball.
He can catch that ball.
Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson.
Good seeing you, bud.
Thank you.
Coming up.
The NFC, will it be decided by Monday night?
Some thoughts on that closer to that happening than you think.

Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing, we get so wrapped up in the chase that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing.
And we're still chasing it.
And we don't know when we've done enough.
Because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross,
because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth?
Are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely.
And that's two different levels of trust.
I want you to just really be a good person.

And on my podcast, The Cliverts show,
I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff.
Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me.
He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue 42.
Hey, ref.
My mom, I want you.
you to weigh better. What? Where's she at? Hey, Miss Parker.

If you're watching the latest season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, you already know there's a lot to break down.
Portia accusing Kelly of sleeping with a merry man. They holding Kay Michelle back from fighting Drew.
Pinky has financial issues. I like the bougie style of Housewives show. Now, I'm
I think it looks like it's going to be interesting.
On the podcast, Reality with the King, I, Carlos King,
recap the biggest moments from your favorite reality shows,
including the Real House Wise franchise, the drama,
the alliances, and the T everybody's talking about.
As an executive producer in reality television,
I'm not just watching it.
I understand the game.
As somebody who creates shows, I'll even say this.

Guys, get your own shampoo. Stop using your girlfriends. Dove men plus care.
Available at Walmart. Your hair has needs. Dove men plus care. So you look at the AFC playoff picture and there's all sorts of stuff left to be undecided.
But the NFC playoff picture, I think we have six teams that are very.
better than everybody else, and that's all that gets in. And I think by Monday night after the
Rams lose to Baltimore, my prediction they will, if Dallas wins, if Philly loses and the Rams
lose, if that happens, I think we know the six teams in the playoffs. We just don't know
where they play. I think San Francisco Green Bay to Saints, Dallas, I think they'll win.
Minnesota and Seattle have kind of separated. Kyle Allen's been exposed in Carolina,
Philadelphia lost to Sean Jackson.
They don't have the speed on the perimeter.
And I think the Rams have a lot of issues.
I think they've got a lot of issues.
I'll get to that in a second.
But Seattle's schedule starting this week in Philadelphia,
a couple of their toughest games, Minnesota, San Francisco, Arizona,
are at home.
And I think L.A.'s got a problem.
I said this.
I live in Los Angeles.
But Joy is my witness.
I said this a year ago.
I said, slow down on the Sean McVeigh Rams thing.
I am sensing.
And this happens in New York.
LA. There is so much money
in these markets that
sometimes you make moves as a professional team
for the business
overwinning. They did this with the Lakers.
The Time Warner deal with Kobe. They signed
him for two years. They knew it would hurt
the growth of their young players, but Time Warner
said, no, Kobe, we're not giving you all
the money. The Rams have a
stadium issue. It was exposed
yesterday in an article by Seth
Wickersham. The stadium was going to
cost $1.6 billion. It's now
up to $6. That's a
little bit of a cost overrun.
And I kept saying, why are they
signing their stars early?
And my theory was, LeBron moves into
town, you have the cost
overruns at the stadium, and let's pay stars.
Jalen Ramsey,
Aaron Donald, Gurley Early,
Jared Goff early, Brandon Cook,
speed receiver. It didn't feel like
the Donald one I agreed with
Aaron Donald didn't feel like
just football moves,
felt like business moves, that
you cross your fingers, hope you have the
depth and they become good football moves.
But a year ago, a year ago today, you know, it felt like the Rams had the first or second
best running back in the NFL, the best young coach, the best young NFC quarterback, the best
young defensive player, and now one of those Aaron Donald persists.
It still exists, I should say.
And Greg Kossel came on yesterday and said it about Todd Gurley.
This is the Belkow running back, you know, just a little over a year ago.
This was the future of the Rams.
and Todd Gurley is not the same player.
Watching Gurley, and this is watching the tape.
I think at this point, and maybe it's injury,
he's a straight line, stiff downhill runner.
He's got very little wiggle, not much lateral agility.
He doesn't have the burst he used to have.
There's no more explosive violence to his running where he breaks tackles.
You know, when you live in Los Angeles, you figure out very quickly,
and we've talked about this, Joy,
The Yankees, there's money, there's branding, there's politics, the Lakers.
You get to these L.A. and New York's, it's not just sports.
It's, you know, who's representing who, how does it play to the biggest advertisers,
how does it play to your big cable television partner?
And the Rams, this story really exposes, like up in Seattle, Pete Carroll, Russell,
Wilson, and John Snyder, the GM, it is all football.
That is all they give a rip about.
In Baltimore, Harbaugh Lamar Jackson, Steve Bouchotti, it is all.
football. Los Angeles,
Ram football feels like
USC football. There's a lot of politics.
They had a lot of big money. It's a really complex.
A lot of tension. A lot of hype. It doesn't feel
right to me. And now you got Arizona's got a
quarterback. Seattle's all football. Niners have the best young coach,
in my opinion, in football. Very
interesting article at the other place.
The cost overruns here are unbelievable. There's real
tension in the building with that stadium, the chargers, the
Rams. And I think the
season starts to dovetail. I don't like the Rams Monday night. I don't understand the number.
I think Baltimore is the better team. I think they're hyper-uber-focused on what they need to do.
I think they have the best identity in the league. I think the Rams have some confusion.
I think Harbaugh is a Hall of Fame coach. Lamar is tough as heck to defend. Rams defense is good.
I don't think it'll be a blowout. I think it's very competitive. And I think it's rather low
scoring. These are two really good defenses. Two best corners in the game could be
planning it. You can take out a top receiver. Rams get a lot of interior pressure, guard center
guard. That kind of gives Lamar more problems than edge pressure, which he can step inside and run.
But I think the LA thing is tense, eggshells. I feel like it's lost its momentum. And Kyler Murray now
is just another guy you've got to face twice a year that's problematic because that kid down in Arizona
is totally real. I think I do believe after this weekend, though, we know this.
six playoff teams in the NFC.
San Francisco, Green Bay,
regardless of what happens,
they're both making it.
New Orleans, Dallas,
Seattle, and Minnesota feel like the six to me.
The Rams have an identity crisis offensively.
Eagles don't have any perimeter speed.
Carolina's got a transitional but not a starting franchise quarterback.
I think the NFC's wrapped after the weekend.
We just don't know who's seated where they're playing,
who has a home game, who has a buy.

Blazing 5 in 90 seconds.
Love my picks.
Over 50% this year.
Last week, I felt pretty good about it.
2-2-1.
Arizona should have won, didn't.
2-2-1.
Joy Taylor is joining me.
Joy, how are you on a Friday?
I'm doing great.
Eric Kendrick's, great linebacker for the Minnesota Vikings stopping by later this hour.
Rod Parker's going to yell and scream at me.
Jason McIntyre.
T.J. Hushman's out of it.
It is great to have you in on a Friday.
So this is really an interesting time of the year.
I do think in the NFC you feel like there's a little separation.
It's funny how the Blazing Five works.
Sometimes I'm really into the favorites.
I'm generally a fan of getting points.
I like whenever you can give me a good quarterback
or the better quarterback and points in the NFL I generally do this week,
it just so happens.
I like road teams.
I like a lot of road teams this week.
So here we go.
Here's my Blazing Five.
That's a hot one.
Let's blaze it off.
Fire it up.
It's Collins, blazing five.
Broncos and bills.
I'll take the Broncos plus three and a half.
I like the number here.
This is going to be a low-scoring game, and three and a half is a lot of points.
Listen, Denver got after that bad start, right?
They're 0 and 4.
We all sell our stock.
But Denver now is a pretty good football team.
19 sacks, which is tied for third in the NFL since week six.
Look at their overall defensive numbers.
Top seven in the stuff that matters.
Vic Fangio knows what he's doing.
Total defense, past defense.
By the way, since they went 0 and 4, they're 3 and 3 in their last 6.
They have the number two red zone defense, meaning they're going to force you into field goals and not touchdowns.
Even if they don't win, I'm betting a number here.
I think it's the smart side.
One of my favorite picks.
I'm going to go Broncos with an upset.
Take the 3.5-2321.
Giants and Bears.
Like the Giants, I love the Giants.
Giants. Very quietly, Pat Schumer, the coach, offensive guy, Daniel Jones. Daniel Jones first
game looked great, then he kind of sputtered around. If you notice Daniel Jones in the last
month since week eight, nine touchdowns, one pick, 107 quarterback rating. We're not paying attention
to him because they're a bad team. Like we're not paying attention to Kyler Murray because
they're a bad team. Daniel Jones, playing pretty good football right now. Giants are coming off a
Bye. Meanwhile, the bears that look like a broken football team to me, there's certainly a broken
offense. Anybody notice, Khalil Mack? I think he's, I think Kalil Mack said, I'm out for the
year. I'm not giving you my best. I think it's a broken locker room. I think it's a broken football
team right now. The Giants off a bye facing the worst offense in the league. Upset. I'll take
New York into points. 27, 24 New York wins straight out. Raiders at Jets. Love the Raiders in
this game. I'll take Oakland, minus.
is three. First of all, big
offensive line advantage for the Raiders.
They have one of the better offensive lines
in the league, maybe not Dallas or Pittsburgh, but good.
Jets have one of the worst. Sam Darnold's always
running for his life. It'll be no
difference this week. But I'll tell you what I
like about the Raiders. They've had the toughest
road schedule in the NFL, and guess
what? They've won 5 of 7.
On the road,
they're averaging more yards
per play than any offense in the
NFL on the road. They have been road
Warriors this year. Road is not a problem for them. And yards per play is a huge Vegas stat.
The sharps and the wise guys love it. And Vegas is number one in the NFL on the road.
They're also tied second in the NFL sacks allow. They don't let you get the Derek Carr.
That's why his efficiency numbers are so high. They have three capable running backs. I think this is a
time of possession game. I think the Jets tend to have more turnovers. I only have to swallow
I like Oakland winning here, 28, 23 in New York.
Seahawks and Eagles.
Seattle plus one and a half, I'm going to take the points here.
Seattle's off a buy.
The last six times they've been off a buy, five and one.
That's the best record in the NFL in their last six by.
Seattle has it.
Hall of Fame coach gets an extra four or five days to prepare.
Philadelphia lost to Sean Jackson.
They have no perimeter speed.
I also think Seattle went and got Josh Gordon.
and Jadavian Clowny.
They are a different team than the team that lost to Baltimore.
They've got now a deep threat and an elite guy in space on the outside.
Russell Wilson this year, MVP, number one in everything that matters.
Seattle is also a rush for 100 plus yards in all, but one of their games.
What does that matter?
When you go on the road, you want to take the crowd out of it in Philly.
Not making a lot of noise if Seattle's picking up first downs, keeping the ball away from
Carson Wentz. Seattle wins 26, 23. I'll take the one and a half in the Hawks.
Cowboys at Patriots.
Mohamed Sunu is out. It's Julian Edelman, 42-year-old Tom Brady and cross your fingers.
I'm going to take Dallas and six and a half. Folks, even if New England wins, this is not a
shootout game. It's going to be low scoring. Six and a half points is a ton of points in a
game, I think, could be 24 to 20. The Patriots defense has come back down to Earth since week
eight. Why? Because they're playing quarterbacks who can actually play. They're 31st in rushing
yards allowed. They're 11th and total yards allowed. They're 12th and points per game and the
Cowboys are averaging 32 points since week nine, top three in the NFL. Again, no vertical threat.
Mohamed Sunu out. Finally, Isaiah win back at left tackle. Don't love their special teams. This to me
is a low-scoring game.
I'm going to call for the Cowboys to add a touchdown late,
win straight out, and cover easily.
32-23.
I don't care about the New England win streak.
Streaks end.
Remember, Cam gave New England trouble.
Russell Wilson's giving him trouble.
Lamar Jackson gave him trouble.
Quarterbacks that can move around,
give Belichick a little trouble.
Dak can move around.
easy win for Dallas in New England.
All of my odds provided by Fox Bet.
Joy has given me a crazy look.
3223?
I think they...
I'm taking Dallas too, but...
I think they...
At the end of that game,
Monday morning, we are saying,
DAC is...
You feel really good about $36 million for DAC
and you have real concerns.
Why is New England all over this AB story
the last 48 hours?
They know they're in trouble.
By the way, this is interesting.
I'm hearing a lot of this.
Baltimore goes to the Rams Monday night football.
I'm hearing this about Lamar Jackson.
Well, there's a lot of Colin Kaepernick.
I've seen this before.
It feels a little bit like Michael Vick.
Wade Phillips talked about facing Lamar Jackson, veteran NFL defensive coordinator.
Here it is.
It's first thing, Lamar Jackson.
I mean, everybody's saying it,
Highfully so. I mean, he's certainly the MVP so far this year. And this era's Michael Vick
maybe plus. Michael Vick plus. Now, some of that is true. He has a coordinator, Greg Roman,
that was Colin Kaepernick's coordinator. So, and the offenses are, I mean, I sat down and
talked to two NFL coaches. One Eric Mangini, he said, I was in San Francisco. It's the same offense.
Not denying that. But, but, but, here's the butt in this. This is why I think Lamarck.
is going to be better than those two.
The 2004 Michael Vick, that was Mike in his prime,
and the 2012 Colin Kaepernick,
that was Colin in his prime.
So now we have Lamar getting, you know, all these yards.
Something's happened.
And we saw it in the NBA with Steph Curry.
For years and years, we had Steph Curry in a league.
It was called Del Curry.
But three-point shots, risky!
That's a bad shot!
And then analytics change.
And then Steph Curry, the three-point shot now is the only shot anybody allows outside of a dunk or a lay-up.
So the game changed toward Steph Curry.
Steph Curry, we saw it.
It was called Del Curry.
We saw a lot of three-point shooters.
So what is happening in the NFL?
We have a stylistic change, a schematic change.
We have a philosophical change.
We have a culture change.
College football is now running spread offenses.
Even in the SEC, Bama is a throwing team over a running team.
team. LSU is a throwing team. USC,
tailback you, is air raid.
What does that mean? You're giving the NFL
offensive linemen who are not road graders.
You're not doing this.
The world's changing. It's about space.
No huddles. Get the ball out.
We have the running quarterback used to be seen as limited.
It's now what everybody wants.
You can't just have a pocket guy unless you have a Sean McBan
McBan a great O line.
So we saw Steph Curry, bad shot.
The world changed toward him.
The world is changing in the NFL, not necessarily just toward Lamar, because I do think he's sort of an outlier with his running ability.
But I think it's changing toward Russell Wilson and changing away from Drew Brees and Tom Brady and perhaps Matt Ryan and Jared Gough.
Is that the other thing is, is that these, we've had, Lamar has grown up in the seven-on-seven culture.
Colin didn't as much.
and Michael Vick did not.
Michael Vick just played high school football and then college football.
Lamar's one of these kids, since he's 13 years old.
He's hit seven on seven.
He's got 10,000 throws in by the time he's 14 years old.
So Michael Vick's career high and touchdown passes with 21.
Colin Kaepernick's career high is 21.
Lamar's got 19 with six games to go.
He's just simply a better passer.
He's been doing it longer.
It's the 10,000 hour rule.
That we've got a – I saw it with Steph Curry.
Bad shot to everybody now wants Steph Curry.
And again, Lamar is so unique as an athlete.
I don't think there's a lot of Lamar on the market,
although I'm sure in the next few years we'll see a Lamar Jackson prototype.
But I don't want to be rigid on this.
I think we're seeing bad offensive lines in college.
Everybody's going to the spread.
Football is changing.
Air raid in college.
Cliff Kingsbury is now working in the NFL as a rookie coach.
Almost looks like he's a better NFL coach than a college coach.
And it's happening.
It really is happening.
And so I don't think this is Kaepernick.
I don't think it's Michael Vick.
I think the world's changed.
It's moving toward Lamar Jackson.
And this happens all the time.
My wife always uses a word all the time.
She says, stay current.
Stay current.
Used to be I could just do AM radio.
And then the only way to make money in my business, got to have a simulcast.
So I can't go in and not shave.
I can't go in and wear a hoodie to my show.
Like the world changed.
So now I have to, you know, do my hair right.
I mean, brush my teeth virtually every day.
I mean, it's really an inconvenience.
So the point is sometimes the world changes.
You better change with it.
And I think Lamar is very fortunate.
The game now, Kyler Lamar, you know, Garapolo can move.
Dak can move.
Josh Allen and Buffalo.
He can move.
And I just think this is, I think we're seeing it.
And this is what I love about analytics.
I'm not a stat nerd, but I think analytics tell you where business is moving.
And I'd rather be in front of it or with it than behind it.
rigid. So I don't think this is Kaepernick. I think there's elements of this that are Kaepernick.
You know, Greg, they're running the same basic offense. But I think the Kaepernick and the Michael Vicks,
the coaches would tell you they loved him. They would. Oh, I love Michael Vick. I love Kaepernick.
But inside the room, half the coaches were like, this is crap. We're running the football.
This is not. There was a lot of infighting in the room. They weren't really with it. The Warriors are
like, Jerry West, warriors. Jerry West told him. Get rid of Monta Ellis. This is the
future with Steph. This is the way
the game. Go get Clay Thompson up at
Washington State. Go get guys
who can shoot. So Golden State
like the Ravens
didn't push back on it.
They were early adapters and said
we're going all in on it. What have I
told you about this? Early adapters
win. The Red Sox with their analytics.
The Dodgers with their analytics. The Astros
with their cheating and analytics. Sorry, Greg.
Early adapters
win. Golden State went in
on it. Early Houston's been playing catch-up.
since. Baltimore, no fight in the building. This was not Kaepernick in San Francisco where half the
coaches didn't like it. This is not Michael Vic in Atlanta where half the coaches didn't like it.
I mean, Michael will tell you, they were trying to make him something he wasn't. Baltimore, Golden State.
This is the future. We're all in. The culture's changing and we want to be out front. I don't
think Lamar's going away. I wish he would take fewer hits. I don't think he's going away.
Maybe I'm wrong. Who knows? All right. I had to get that off my chest, a lot of stuff.
long segment. It was a great job. Thank you. Thank you.
Hey, let's hear it for me. There's no shot at the Astros. It's analytics and cheating.
It was like a little. Sorry, Houston. I deserve it. I like Deshawn Watson, Houston. It's just,
you know, your baseball team. Coming up next, Rob Parker is going to scream at me on a member of
that Vikings defense, which is outstanding joining us as well. Be sure to catch live editions

Tomorrow, start Saturday Strong with Big Noon-Saturday game of the week.
Number 8 Penn State faces off with number two Ohio State in a season-defining showdown.
It all starts at 10 Eastern with a special two-hour big noon kickoff pregame show live from
the horseshoe only on Fox and the Fox Sports app.
Of course, that is Michigan, Ohio State next week.
So watch Michigan stumble against Indiana and watch Ohio State play a little flasker.
against Penn State. Rob Parker is here. He's got a new book out. It's called If I'm
Writing. I'm Ripping Available Monday on Amazon, a collection of some of his best work through the
year. Show it here, Rob. There we go. There we go. And you have to... Everybody in sports
America is ripable. Remember that. Everybody. No, there has to be somebody you had
trouble criticizing. The hardest one was Hank Aaron. He's like the most gentleman. You criticize
Hank Aaron. I've ripped Hank Aaron because he wouldn't take a side into Barry Bonds,
about Barry Bond's breaking his record.
And it wasn't that he had to agree with it,
but he had to say something.
It was his record.
And Hank wouldn't say anything on either side.
Let me guess.
You criticized LeBron and Tom Brady a lot.
Yeah, I think they made the book as well.
Let's start with this.
Cowboy Dallas matchup.
Muhammad Sanoo is out.
I said maybe I'm overstating it, Rob Parker,
joining us.
But I said if Mohamed Sanoo is out,
their offense now is down to Julian Edelman,
no deep threat, no gronk.
If Dallas doesn't win this, Jason Garrett Monday, on every show in America that does what we do,
Jason Garrett's a five-star hot seat.
Is that fair?
That's fair.
But my problem and why I'm still going to pick the Patriots.
And trust me, I'm between a rock and a hard place picking Tom Brady or the fraudulent cowboys.
And this is where it is because I'm still going to rely on the defense.
Tom Brady's played terrible.
I call him terrible Tom the last seven weeks.
Seven touchdowns, five picks.
Yes.
He just hasn't played.
played well, but their defense has really won most of their games.
Here's the problem with the Cowboys and that.
They haven't beaten a team that has a record of above 500 or better.
The teams that they've beaten are also ran.
They've been the Giants twice, the dolphins, all bad teams,
and the Eagles is the only win that they had where they had a team that was 500 at 5 and 5.
So they haven't beaten anybody.
Think about the losses.
They lost to all playoff teams.
They lost to Green Bay.
The Saints. Remember, the Saints didn't even score a touchdown in that game and beat the Cowboys.
Minnesota.
And Minnesota. So there's three playoff teams.
And Green Bay and Minnesota were both home games.
Exactly. And they lost to the Jets.
So I'm just, when I look at Dak Prescott talk about he's going to be in the MVP conversation.
I mean, Colin, the only thing that has more value is probably the cubic zirconia you brought your wife where you first started working.
You just don't buy it.
Now, do you buy a Lamar Jackson in Baltimore?
Yeah, I do.
I think that they could beat the Patriots eventually, you know, in the playoffs and have a chance at it.
I do.
Do you think, I think Russell Wilson's the MVP easily, but what do you make?
Are they getting ahead of themselves?
Are you comfortable with him being an MVP, Baltimore being the favorite over New England eventually?
I like what Lamar Jackson and what the ravens have done.
But I think people are way, way about where it's going, the future of football.
name me that guy who's won a Super Bowl, that quarterback, doing what he's done.
You go, look, you got stiff standing there in the pocket who would normally win Super Bowls,
so until one of those guys can do it, and people forget, as good as Lamar Jackson is,
last year he took the league by storm.
They went to the playoffs, and what happened?
The charges saw him twice in a few weeks and stopped them completely in the playoff game.
So there's a recipe out there.
It hasn't been done yet.
but let them win a playoff game before we crown guys.
I think we're too quick to crown people.
Oh, no, listen, it's interesting.
They're only a three and a half point favored over the Rams.
So Vegas is telling you either the Rams are better than we think or hold on
on Baltimore.
The Rams have a player, Eric Weddle, former Raven now a Rams, safety, great player,
going to be a Hall of Famer, I think, saying I'm not giving my team now the Rams
any information about Baltimore.
How does that sit with you?
Not good at all.
I mean, I don't know if I want that guy on my team.
I'm serious.
That makes no sense.
You're not there for a reason, right?
You're not there.
What do you owe an old organization?
You don't owe anybody anything, right?
When you were there, you did your job.
If I have some knowledge or information, right?
You're not cheating.
I know this.
This is common knowledge, and they're probably going to make changes anyway,
but you should tell people what it is you know.
I don't know.
I find that to be shocking.
Joey, how do you, how does that?
Shocking.
See, because when I go to companies and they ask me questions,
I'll say, yeah, this is my former employer's weak spot.
Here's where they're good.
Here's where they're weak.
Here are the people that are underrated you should hire.
Here are the people that are overrated, stay away.
I kind of think like you go to a new company.
I wouldn't sell out a friend of mine, but a company weak spot.
Like I think if I was-
Well, first of all, isn't he on another team?
Yeah, I know.
So they weren't very loyal to him.
That's what I'm saying?
What does he owe them?
And second, does he also not believe in scouting?
It just doesn't make sense.
Like if you're talking about, oh, like,
tell us about this guy's like injury or something like that like that's that's unethical and some
and some people don't even feel like that is because they have an injury report so that's there's
like ethical lines too I suppose but the idea that you're not going to say oh on fourth down they like
to run this play huh it just doesn't even make sense is eric working for hines he's going to give us
the recipe for the ketchup i mean i'm just like here's the secret ingredient they put in that would
be totally different i mean he can live his life however he wants too i just it just fundamentally
doesn't make sense in this environment.
So you're going to have to admit now,
this is going to be very difficult for you.
LeBron James is the best point guard in the league.
You cannot deny his numbers.
He'd be MVP today with James Harden.
He has made this puppy work so much faster than I thought.
Defensively, they're fantastic.
They're the longest team in the league.
Offensively, it is like he and Danny Green and Kuzma and Davis
have played together for a decade.
Acknowledge, this hurts for.
you. It doesn't hurt. I'm going to tell you, though, pump the brakes, Laker fans, and
LeBron James. I have no idea what LeBron James is doing in year 17, this revenge tour, to prove
something. You know when it matters? Colin, in the playoffs. So LeBron could do all this,
pile up all these numbers, do all this, and he better not be worn down or hobbled or
anything come playoff time because that's when it really matters. I'm not saying he should take
nights off load management.
But what he's doing and what he's trying to prove, I don't understand.
It's November.
It's a long NBA season.
You know this.
What are you trying to prove?
Everybody knows you're a great player.
It's just piling up stats to pile up stats.
Do you really need to win NBA games by 30 or 40 points in November?
No, I think the one thing I worry about is Lakers are old.
Danny Green, Anthony Davis, LeBron, James.
James, Rondo, Javelle McGee, Jared Dudley.
One of the oldest teams in the league.
Yeah.
So, I mean, now I will say LeBron's only paying 34, 35 minutes a night.
So he's not doing that taxing 43-minute thing, but you think he's just going, he's all in.
I'll say that when I watch.
I just think this is all for show.
And I'm sorry, long-term, and nobody wants to hear it because it's not as sexy.
But the clippers will be right where they need to be.
They'll be ready.
They're a great defensive team.
Look at what they've done.
games they lost when Kauai hasn't played.
They haven't even had their
guys played one game together, right?
Paul George and Kauai Leonard.
They still have 10 wins.
Nobody's running away from them.
Think about it.
If I'm writing, I'm ripping, available Monday on Amazon.
Rob Parker, co-host of the odd couple,

Put that book up one more time.
One more time. There you go.
By the way, my father was a traveler.
My late father went to Russia.
He went to Egypt, Europe.
My dad loved travel.
I grew up with National Geographic magazines all over my room.
My dad loved travel.
So as a kid, it was Sports Illustrated in National Geographic.
In fact, I think I subscribed to that until about 10 years ago.
You are going on a week trip here very soon.
Tell the audience where you're going.
I'm going to Antarctica.
And Colin, it's my seventh and final continent.
I've traveled all over the world.
I love to travel.
I love to see new things.
and this is going to be life-changing for me
because just being a kid growing up in Jamaica, Queens, in New York,
I fantasized about traveling the world and seeing different things.
I've been to Egypt, Australia.
My dad loved Egypt.
Just a fascinating Egypt.
I went inside the pyramid, the sphinx.
I saw all of that.
I took a cruise on the Nile River.
I floated in the Dead Sea in Israel.
I could just go on and on and on.
Israel is supposed to be.
Doug Gottlie played basketball in Israel.
I have a friend that's in Israel.
He said it's the most beautiful place he's ever been.
It is just unbelievable.
And just to go, and I know people are saying, oh, you got six continents.
What do you need to go to Antarctica?
That's what everybody's saying.
But I want to go.
I do, huh?
I think it's interesting.
Yeah.
And nobody knows anybody who's been to Antarctica.
You?
You?
You're right.
Nobody.
That's true.
I'll be the guy you'll know.
Yeah, you know what?
And when you come back, I'll be like, hey, I was thinking about you.
Where do you get a burger there?
the nightclub, the night scene.
Say hi to the Penguins for us.
Me and the Penguins will be the only black guys in there.
Oh, stop. God.

No, no, no.
Turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
So the Packers head west to take on the 49ers on Sunday night.
Yes.
And the Niners have been atop the NSC the entire season.
Yeah.
Aaron Rogers knows how important it is to get this win on the road.
We're all aware of where we're at in, you know, the seating going into week 12 and what's in front of us and the opportunities.
You know, there's still a lot of football to be played and a lot can happen.
I think, you know, you're just in denial if you don't think about the implications with, you know, a dub or an national.
this week and now that affects stuff down the line.
That's what I said.
The way we look at it, we're going to have to win there one time the rest of the year.
It'd be nice to get it done this week.
Also, the last time they were in California, they were a little of sidetracked.
So watch a super focused Packers team this Sunday night.
Yeah, he was unhappy with his team after that loss to the Chargers.
God, the NFC is so, there's so many good teams.
Well, yes.
And this game in particular is very important for both teams because, as you mentioned earlier in the show,
as amazing as the 49ers have been this year.
If they lose, the Packers will take the top spot in the NFC from the 49ers.
They would both have a 9-and-2 record, and Green Bay would hold the tiebreaker.
And for the rest of the season, if you look at the Packers' schedule, obviously at the 49ers,
then they're at the Giants against the Redskins, the Bears, Vikings, and at the lions.
So in general, Packer's schedule is not very tough for the rest of the season.
And the Niners is brutal.
Well, the 49ers have the Packers at the Ravens, at the Saints, the Falcons, which are no
longer and easy out, the Rams, and then add the Seahawks.
San Francisco schedule is absurd.
That is as tough a haul post- Thanksgiving starting this Sunday.
Brutal November.
Brutal.
It is brutal.
They're for real, though, but this game will be very important to start off that final run of games.
Finally, both the Cowboys and the Pages will be missing key players this weekend.
New England is expected to be without Muhammad Sunu, who's dealing with a high ankle sprain.
He suffered last weekend against the Eagles.
He could reportedly miss a few weeks with that in.
injury. So big for the Patriots. And Dallas won't have linebacker late in Vandrash, who's out with a neck injury and is considered week to week.
They do have Jalen Smith.
Yes. Van der Wash has been hit and miss this year. Is that fair to say? He's been a little hit and miss, John?
He had this injury and he came back a couple weeks ago, but he hasn't looked the same.
He runs the same. But when he goes to hit, he looks a little weary. So clearly it was still bothering him and now he's out.
But luckily, they do still have Sean Lee.
Oh, yeah. He's their, you know, the guy they'll bring in. Yeah. They're fine at lineback.
Yeah. So he had that singer in week seven.
which kept him out that next week.
And then, as Gulae just said, it seemed to flare up again in practice.
So it is two big pieces.
Luckily, the Cowboys are in a better situation than the Patriots are being without
Mohammed's anew.
So finally, Dak Prescott is having the best season of his career and is getting some love in the MVP conversation.
But Dak, in usual Dak fashion, is wonderful at the mic.
And he said he's focused on winning and not paying any attention to the MVP talk.
He said, one, it's crazy early.
right and two it's winning the only thing I care about is wins so if that means I'm the most
winningest quarterback in the league sure I want it but until it means that I don't care it's
something cool but I want to win games and that's the most important thing so I love him
swear every always says the right thing he is he is just wonderful at quarterback speak yep no
and that's by the way you can say it's boring I want my quarterback's boring you know what
Wilson's boring Dax boring I don't I don't mind a little flare but that's why I really
like Dack Prescott because I don't
think that Cascot is boring. He plays with a lot of energy. He plays with a lot of excitement. He's
very vocal. He's clearly a leader. And at the mic, he just shuts everything down. That's exactly
how you want it. I don't want boring. Can you imagine? But I do want you to be boring on the
microphone. Baker can't keep quiet in Cleveland on a losing team. Dak keeps quiet in
Dallas. Dallas on a winning team. Like that's maturity. I said it before. When I'm buying the
franchise quarterback, 30% of your pay is be a grownup.
I love personalities, and I especially love personalities at every other position but
quarterback, but I do think that Zach has the, I think Deshawn Watson has this, I think
Patrick Mahomes has this, Lamar Jackson has this, where they are incredibly exciting to watch
on the field, and then as soon as you get them in front of a microphone, they shut everything down.
It's just like, so good.
Boring.
I love good quarterback.
Boring is making a comeback in America.
Enjoy it with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.
The herd line news.
I've said this for the last, probably three weeks.
I think Minnesota's got the best roster in the NFL.
Eric Kendricks is a linebacker.
He's the number one rated linebacker in the NFL, according to pro football focus.
He leads the Vikings in tackles.
We rarely get the opportunity.
We always look for guys on a buy week.
And Eric Kendricks is having a monster year, the NFL's best linebacker,
according to pro football focus.
And you know I love that site.
We'll be joining us in studio next.
We have a loaded show today.
I can't wait to talk to Eric.

he goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Come up.
Quarterback on office blue of 42.
Hey, rec, my mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Hey, Miss Park.

Eric Kendricks is the number one rated linebacker in the NFL, according to pro football
focus.
He leads the star-studded Vikings defense in tackles.
It's absolutely a pleasure.
You were the college football Buckness Award winner at UCLA.
grew up in Fresno, still go home.
Have a summer camp there.
Eric, it's great to have you on.
It's interesting about your team because we all acknowledge,
We're always like, Vikings got nothing but dudes everywhere.
And then we're like, ah, Kirk Cousins.
But it's pretty clear something happened in this season, and there was a change made.
Maybe it was schematically.
But he had a really bad performance against Chicago.
Guys like me are like, I'm done.
It's over.
And then something happened.
Let's go back to the week of practice after you lost and he struggled.
I think it was the Bears game.
It's a while back.
In fact, let me see.
I have it right about.
Yeah, there he goes.
16 to 6.
Come back to practice on Tuesday.
Something changed. What was it?
I feel like everyone thinks it's like some one thing in particular,
but I feel like we just came into work just like every other week.
I feel like our work ethic and our mindset was very similar.
Sometimes it takes a little bit for teams to click and things like that,
and I feel like we were just going through that, you know.
But now what is everybody saying?
You know what I mean?
Obviously Kirk is rolling out more.
they're moving him.
Is he an intense guy? He looks intense to me.
Yeah, he's intense, but, you know, during
camp and stuff like that, like he's intense.
He turns it into competition. Like, we always,
we're always competing, we're always talking trash, you know.
When he scores on offense,
he's running down to the end zone, making
sure he's running by all the defenders, you know,
screaming and holler in. So it's a lot of fun, you know,
he's a good player. We know what kind of those he can make.
So it's a buy week in the NFL. You guys just got
done going to Dallas and beating Dak
Prescott. Dak is the
quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, you could make an argument that in America, shortstop for the Yankees or quarterback for the Cowboys is the biggest job in American sports.
Talk about the week you prepared for him, what you saw. What do you like about Dak? What does he like to face?
He played well against this. He made a lot of good throws. He made a tight cover two throw. I remember during the last one of the last drive. There was one play where I was running to the sideline. And he threw it. And I was like, no way.
like, you know, no, that's not going to, you know, it's not going to fly.
And it was just like two toes in the end zone.
And I was like, I mean, hey, people make plays too.
But, you know, got that win.
It was hard fought.
And, yeah.
You face Aaron Rogers generally twice a year.
Aaron obviously has an insane arm.
When you go into a game against Aaron and you guys will play later and Eric, it'll probably decide your division.
Are there things as a linebacker with Aaron that you can't cheat on, that you can?
Most believe he has the best arm in the NFL since Brett Favre.
When you face him, how does Aaron change the way you play?
It's a mind game, you know, pre-snap.
We play against some of, you know, a couple times a year.
And, I mean, I've been doing it.
It's my fifth year now.
So I feel like it's always a little bit of a pre-snap game with him.
Hight and stuff.
Yeah, just like, you know, terms, you know.
know, points, things like that, you know, what's, you know, just a lot of things.
You know, who's calling, you know, us disguising our defense, you know, us showing one thing,
you know, there's all types of things.
So, and they know it, and we know it.
So it gets interesting.
When you do play a team twice a year, Chicago, Detroit, Green Bay, does it change things?
Do you go down to just basic, listen, nobody's going to fool anybody here?
When you, are your division games, do they feel different than other games?
Yeah, you know, it's a lot of stake.
You know what I mean?
We know those games are tough.
Our division is really physical and, you know, games can get cold at times.
But it's a physical mentally exhausting league.
And we got to come to bring it every time we play against one of our division opponents.
We know that.
So we're watching Lamar Jackson.
It's pretty obvious what's happening in the NFL.
Kyler Murray, Lamar Jackson, almost outside.
of Jared Gough, almost all the young quarterbacks got a little wiggle, they can move.
Now, as a linebacker, you know, it's always been thought of as your way faster than the
quarterback. Now you've got guys like Kyler Murray. It's like, I don't like. So as a linebacker,
is it harder? Would you rather face Tom Brady where he can't move, but he may pick you
apart, you know, upstairs with pre-snap, Aaron Rogers similarly? Or would you, what's the
difference? Would you rather play the running quarterback or the more prototypical pocket guy?
I mean, honestly, it just depends, you know, how well they're playing against us, you know.
But it's a pick your poison kind of thing because, you know, those quarterbacks, you know, gets into the fifth player of the drive, six player of the drive.
And, you know, it's third and whatever, 10, third and nine.
And we have everything locked up, you know, so to speak.
And all of a sudden they started standing it with their legs.
And everybody's already played six or seven plays.
So, you know, not everybody's as fresh as the quarterback on that play.
You guys are a little gasped.
And then all of a sudden you see them doing spin moves.
and sliding and jumping.
It's like, what?
Like, you know, calm that down.
You know, we're supposed to be off the field right now.
So it's more exhausting to play the running guy as a linebacker.
Yeah, yeah, you know, it's a different game, you know.
It's just, you know, I feel like there's really nothing you can compete with a ball that's on time, really.
So, you know, pocket quarterbacks have that advantage in that sense.
But, you know, the game is definitely, you know, changing.
All quarterbacks essentially have to be able to run a little bit, you know, especially now.
When you look, so there's a situation this Monday night.
Joy and I were talking about this.
Eric Kendrick's number one linebacker in the NFL for the Vikings,
according to pro football focus, leads them in tackles.
Eric Weddle, most guys in this league, you get drafted by the Vikings.
We hope you play there forever.
But there's a chance, money, salary cap.
They're going to try to retain you.
Most guys aren't you.
But you move around this league.
You get older, you still want to play.
Eric Weddell wants to play football.
Rams pick him up.
Used to be a Raven.
He will not reportedly tell the Rams.
Rams anything about what the Ravens do.
As a player in this league, how does that sit with you?
I mean, I don't know.
I don't know.
It's hard not to say he's not like anything.
You got to share a little or something.
But yeah, I mean, that's his choice.
I mean, if that is his choice.
But I mean, you got to share like, I don't know,
maybe like a snap count or something, you know.
Like what, explain to the audience what you,
let's say you left the Vikings in three years.
And you end up with the Rams.
And Sean McAbeigh comes up and says,
says, give me a little heads up here.
It's kind of difficult because, you know, if you're a defensive player,
like your offense has changed game plans based on who you're playing.
So you can help with as far as like what the defense is doing,
but you can't, you know, if the offense is lighting it up,
it's not like you're going to be like, oh, like I knew that was coming
because that could be an entirely new play versus the coverage that that team runs.
You know, it's a little more complex than that.
You know, I feel like they can, if anything, you know, it's just like verbiage.
Maybe you can help with.
Yeah, absolutely.
An audible system.
Who is, you know, your dad was a football player at UCLA, you go to UCLA, you go to the NFL, you're immediately very, very good.
You talked about the mental grind.
So we are just getting into Thanksgiving.
There's this week and then Thanksgiving.
If I'm a college linebacker and I'm coming out right now, what would Eric Kendrick's fifth-year NFL guy tell you if you were coming into the league, the grind of the NFL compared to college?
I tell you, a lot of guys don't become you.
They don't pick it up quickly.
You clearly did.
You also have a great defensive coach and Mike Zimmer.
You've got a really good coach.
What would you tell a younger you coming into the NFL?
You know, use your enthusiasm.
You know, it's a new game that first year.
You know, it's the same game, but it's a new game.
Use your enthusiasm.
Use your excitement.
Use your nervousness, you know, for yourself.
You know, when it gets late in the season, when it, you know, you're past the 12th game
of the year.
You know, going 13, 14, 15.
Use that youthfulness to, you know, I say that youthfulness.
And I still feel young.
Right.
Use that youthfulness to, you know, propel you, you know.
I use it as excitement.
I mean, I think we went to the playoffs, my rookie year,
and I was ready to go, you know, after we lost.
You know, I felt like I was still in that mindset I was still going to play.
And I was just so excited for the opportunity.
And it was a new game and new challenges.
You know, I told you this chess game we're playing between, you know,
the Packers and stuff like that.
And it's just all fun.
And if you treat it like the same game in that sense, you know, where it's fun, you know, at the end of the day, it's fun to go out there and run around on the field and hit.
You still love it.
Still love it.
You know, just apply that.
You know, I don't know.
It's pretty simple, I feel like.
You love football.
Do you think every guy in the league loves it?
I mean, you love football.
But there are some guys that like the money.
I'm not sure they like to get hit.
I mean, I feel like we all like the money.
It's not, I mean, let's not be naive.
But I feel like if you're in the NFL, you have to love it.
I mean, there's just so many things that are involved with this game.
that if you do not love it, you'll get weeded out quickly.
And I feel like everybody in the NFL right now who has a jersey
and is on a 53, you know, loves the game of football.
Mike Zimmer's very serious, by the way.
Does he ever joke?
Have you ever heard him tell a joke?
He jokes.
Really?
He does joke.
When?
He cracks a few jokes.
He's a serious guy.
Very.
You know, a little bit crabby at times.
Yeah, a little.
He'll definitely joke around, especially, you know, when, like, he's cutting us a little
break, but he doesn't want to, like, show us too much love, you know.
But he's very old school.
Yeah, he is old school.
Okay.
By the way, a California kid grew up in Fresno, 110 degree summers.
You like Minneapolis?
I love Minneapolis, man.
It's been a great place for me.
It's a good change-up, you know.
Downtown.
I didn't own a jacket until I moved out there.
I definitely had to hit up North Face, you know, to get a jacket.
People that live there love it.
Everybody I know that lives in.
Minneapolis loves it. It's a great city
man. People are great, you know, and I feel
like the spring and summer when it's nice.
You only hear about the coldness of snow. Obviously
it's cold. Pretty good.
When it's nice weather out, man, people are out
in the streets, people are going to concerts.
Eric Kendrix, we got to go. Thanks, buddy.

Super 6 NFL Sunday.
Cowboys Patriots is one of the matchups this week.
Colin, help us win some money this weekend.
Give us a winner and a final score.
Cowboys win by 9, 10 points.
3223.
Mahamins Sunu's out.
I don't think it's that.
I think Dallas is clearly,
I think New England scores early.
They can't beat you over the top.
Philip Dorset's not going to play or he's 50-50.
Muhammad Sunu is out.
T.J. Hushmanzada, 11 years in the NFL.
If you, now that Muhammad Sanu is out,
you're the Cowboy defensive coordinator.
What do you do to face New England?
I'm a double Edelman, meaning he, every rod he runs is an option route, so to speak.
You can run across the route, but he can pivot out, he can sit.
So I'm just going to have a safety drop in the middle.
You take everything across the field, the guy that's in his face.
You have the stop route and the pivot out, and you force other guys to beat you.
Make Tom Brady pat the ball, and you force other guys to beat you.
Make him throw to Nikiel Harry, make him who's the rookie who hasn't played much from Arizona State.
I mean, I look at without Muhammad Sunu, I don't think they have the weather.
I don't this is not news. I've said this several times. Outside of the secondary, I just don't think this is a Super Bowl team for New England. I think they've mostly done it off a crappy schedule.
Well, you got to beat who's on a schedule. I'm not going to discredit their record because their record is saying that they're a good team. But when you watch them, the Cleveland game, Baker gave it to him.
He did. Last week, they, in essence, won the game with a trick play. And so good teams normally don't run trick plays unless you.
You know you need them.
And so they felt like last week, we needed this playoffs.
We're going to lose a game.
Edelman threw the only touchdown of the game.
And so when you're doing things like that to win games this late in the season,
it shows that, number one, Josh McDaniel doesn't have confidence
and they can move the ball and score points because we're going to pull out these trick plays.
By the way, there's the Antonio Brown stuff.
There's tweets this week.
I mean, my connection was Brady's not stupid.
He's been snippy and grumpy for the last two months.
I mean, Brady's been snippy since training camp.
He didn't want him to let go of Josh Gordon.
He didn't want him to let go of AB.
That's now been reported and documented by Boston Media.
Do you think there's a chance if AB's cleared, New England makes a run at him?
I mean, they made two runs of Josh Gordon.
If they want to win, they will.
A.B. can play.
You, man, you have A.B. on this team versus the Dallas Cowboys.
Different game.
It's a different outcome.
He'll mean that much because now you double Edelman if you want to,
you're going to get bombed over.
over the top. And so he's a difference maker. If he's not going to be suspended for the rest of the
year or however the NFL decides they're going to dole out his punishment, if I'm the Patriots
100% I go get A-beat, no question. Let me, let's talk some Rams and Ravens. You're a former
Raven. You now live in Los Angeles and know the Rams well. Eric Weddle plays for the Rams,
the former Raven, says, I'm not giving any secrets up. Buy it. Lying. He ain't telling the truth.
Come on, man. I don't care if you.
You played for the Ravens for 20 years.
When you leave the Ravens and you play for the Rams, you now play for the Rams.
Well, you were a Bengalana Raiders.
Man, listen, Eric Weddow sat in that office with McVey and told them everything.
I ain't buying it.
I don't believe it.
There's no way possible.
Who's your loyalty to now?
It's to the L.A. Rams.
You're fighting for the – you lose this game.
Your season is in essence.
It's over.
Yeah.
You have to give them every ounce of information that you think can help.
And if you're not, you're not –
doing your team, which is the L.A.
Rams, a disservice. I don't believe it.
By the way, you were a Bengal, then a Raven.
Did you ever tell the Raven? Yep, I sure did.
And we played the Bengals. I never forget. And I played
terrible too. I had two deep balls.
Catch the ball, hit the ground, come out. Played terrible.
But I will say this. They went
in two minute and no huddle.
All the signs were still the same.
I was standing next to Harleball, telling the
coordinator every route they were running.
And nothing had changed.
And Carson knew it. He was
trying to hide it from you. And so,
But I was telling them everything because nothing had changed.
So the signals, hand signals all the same?
All the same.
They can't change them.
You got to understand, there's a lot of guys in the NFL that aren't very smart.
You try to change signals the week of a game and figure out who's going to do it right and who's not.
So you just keep them.
And hopefully I can't get the information out there fast enough.
That's the way you should do it.
100%.
Have you ever asked a teammate that played somewhere else, hey, strength, weakness?
You have no problem going to a guy and saying, hey, let me ask some questions about your former team.
No.
you got to win.
We're talking Eric Weddell on the Rams.
If they don't win this,
they'll already know where they stand
because the 49ers play the Packer Sunday.
If they win that game,
Rams, you lose. It's over.
Come on, man. Eric Weddell is giving all
information that he feels the Rams will need.
I don't buy that at all.
I want to go to something.
I said, I'm not really into stats,
but I do like analytics because they tell me
where sports are going.
And for years and years, we had Steph Curry,
in the league. It was called Del Curry, but the three
was considered a bad shot. Then
analytics said, actually, it's a great
shot. Dunk it or shoot
threes. And now everybody's
looking for the next Steph Curry. The business
moved towards Steph. It moved away from
Dwight Howard and centers.
Similarly, college football now, nobody runs the power
football outside of like Wisconsin.
And so the sport is handing the NFL
past blocking offensive line, but not road
graders. And I think what you have in the NFL
right now is a you have to have a mobile quarterback. Offensive lines have
deteriorated in the last five to six years in the NFL. You can't have the clatt. Matt Ryan feels
a little Jurassic. He's a little bit of a dinosaur. Tom Brady, thank God he's got
generally the best coach in football. Do you look at Lamar Jackson and see Michael Vick?
I look at Lamar Jackson and say, yeah, I see the Kaepernick Vic, but the game has changed.
It is more of an athlete position now than just a pocket guy. Do you buy that?
The game has evolved so much, and it's funny, we're talking about this.
I was talking to Jordan Palmer yesterday.
Quarterback guru.
And this is a difference.
There wasn't quarterback coaches in the urban community when I was playing.
The kids couldn't afford it.
You couldn't afford a quarterback coach in my DNAs.
And the white kids, they could afford them.
The black player couldn't afford a quarterback coach.
And now that they're more accessible.
Now elite 11 camps are everywhere.
And you can meet a Jordan Palmer.
You can meet guys at these elite 11 camps.
Seven on seven is more prevalent.
So you're throwing a ball all the time.
And you're getting better coaching at a younger age.
And so instead of the guy going into college as a top recruit athlete that plays quarterback
is going to go play receiver a DB.
He has 10,000 passes already.
They're letting him play quarterback in college.
This is just not a flash in a pen.
We're going to see more of this because this is where football is being played at the high school level.
now in the college level, and now it's taken over in the NFL.
I find it, I got to be honest with you.
I find it more fun to watch.
I like mobile quarterbacks.
I love what.
Russell Wilson's one of my favorite players in professional sports.
Forget that I like him just to watch.
Kyler Murray is fascinating to me.
I mean, and here's the other thing.
This matters too.
So Arizona has Josh Rosen.
They're like, we're going all in on Murray, and it hit.
So I think there's a lot of these teams that looked at what Arizona did,
like the Giants are like, we've got to move off Eli.
We got to move off Andy Dalton.
We got to move off.
When Arizona did it, and they've been highly competitive,
and then Baltimore goes all in on this kid,
you know how the NFL is.
It's a copycat league.
People look at Arizona, and they look around at Baltimore,
and they're like, that stuff.
You know, I mean, you got to see somebody else do it first.
You know, you act like you have courage.
But when somebody else does it, you're like, yeah, I like my quarterback.
But if you look at the quarterbacks in college,
the best two quarterbacks right now.
Herbert can run.
Joe Burl can run.
Tuah can run.
Herbert's a big dude, but he can move.
The kid at Utah State can move.
By the way, Justin Fields next year.
Utah State is Jordan Love.
Yeah, Jordan Love can move.
Justin Fields next year.
I think it's just the way the sports working.
And these kids, it's this 7-on-7 circuit
and the elite 11 camps that they put on,
they're throwing a ball so much.
They're seeing coverage without the rush.
They're picking things up.
They're being able to play the game mentally faster
in their head because they've made these
throws from the tiny or 13 and 14 years
old in these type of coverages
that you see and it's easier now.
Yeah. So I'll just say, I'll say a game
you tell me who's going to win.
Cowboys Patriots.
Cowboys.
Packers, 49ers.
Ooh, 49ers.
Rams, Ravens.
Ravens. Seahawks Eagles.
Seahawks.
We mostly agree. I don't know
where to go on Green Bay, San Francisco.
that defensive line, man.
I know I would take Aaron Rogers over Jimmy G.
But if they get Kittled back and that defensive line, it's tough.
You know, it's really interesting.
This George Kittle guy, this Iowa tight end, he's become gronk.
They're not the same offense without him.
Like, he is their identity.
They get Kittled back.
It's a different offense.
It is.
T.J. Hushman Zauda.
Good seeing you, Bob.
Thank you.
Joy with the news.
No, no, no, no.
Turn on the news.
This is the Herd Line News.
Speaking of offensive identity.
Zico Elliott's productions dipped a little recently.
He only has 92 rushing yards on 36 carries of the last two games.
But he said he's not worried about his own stats because the passing game is carrying the Cowboys.
The passing game rolling right now, so he's got right at a while it's hot.
Hopefully it's rolling through the rest of the season and don't need to run the ball.
But yeah, not really like looking at it that way.
Just, you know, the receivers and the DAC are rolling right now.
you know when someone's at the hot hand
keep giving the ball.
Yep.
I got to give it to Zeke too.
He's been a great, great teammate.
No, no, he hasn't.
His carry's gone down.
He doesn't.
He's been good about it.
Yeah.
And he's right.
You have to go with what the hot hand is.
It's all about winning at the end of the day.
It's not an individual statistic game.
Think about this.
Who are the two teams in the league right now that are really healthy?
Baltimore and Dallas.
They don't have any injuries, man.
New England's all banged up.
San Francisco's been banged up.
Well, Dallas has laying Vandrash out, but I mean, they're so deep at that position.
Dallas is going into this game. Baltimore is going into these games.
These guys are.
That's attrition.
I've always told the story years ago.
I was hosting a Super Bowl party out east.
The Giants play the Patriots.
And I went to the store to get some Corona, right?
We didn't have enough beer in the house.
And on the way back, it was Bob Papa's the voice of the Giants.
And it was the pregame show.
He was just wrapping up.
And he said, all right, we're ready to go.
and he paused and he goes, it's remarkable.
The entire Giants
roster is healthy.
We're missing one special teams player.
Do you know how, and it was right before they upset the Patriots,
he goes, do you know how remarkable it is
to go through an entire NFL season?
And we have one special teams player out.
He goes, this is the healthiest,
the Giants have been all year.
And I remember thinking driving my house in Connecticut,
Giants are going to win this game.
They're that, I mean, to go through the season,
the Cowboys have one minor injury.
Van Derresh is,
got a problem. He'll probably be back next week.
Yeah, he's week to week. Don't, by the way,
what's hurt Philadelphia? Deshawn Jackson's
injury. Lane Johnson.
This division's being decided
by Philadelphia having two injuries.
Yeah, I mean, they're very lucky to have
depth at that position too. So, you know, he
is a big player for them. It's not
really been that impactful. I know you're very
high on the Cowboys this weekend.
I'm also going to go with Dallas.
I'm excited. I don't. I just, I don't know.
I don't know. Also, I believe it's the end
of the Patriots when I see it. So Christian
McCaffrey is well in his way to having the most productive season for a running back in NFL
history. He's currently on pace to have 2,523 yards from scrimmage that would break Chris Johnson
record in 2009 with the Titans. And he also just became the youngest player at 23 to receive
a Madden rating of 99. Dude's got jets. I'm sorry, that dude pulls away from guys. He looks very
track-like. He is. Which is generally not the best thing when you are playing football because
it kind of is associated with, yeah, with not being the top.
office, but yeah, he can come up and put him down.
Dude, he is just, that right there.
He's a track guy. Yeah, for sure. He's the sixth running back to ever receive a 99
rating. He leads the NFL in rushing yards. And last weekend, he became the first player
to rush for at least 1,000 yards and have at least 500 receiving yards in the first 10
games of the season. Eric Dickerson is correct. If he was on a team with a star quarterback
or at least a relevant quarterback at this point, he would be at top the MVP conversation because
the numbers that he is putting up are all-time.
Not saying that Lamar Jackson and Russell Wilson
being atop the MVP conversation is wrong
because they certainly are having MVP seasons,
but Christian McCaffrey is, he's having an all-time season.
Finally, Deonté Wilder and Luis Ortiz
face off tomorrow night for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Wilder won the first fight between the two back in March of 2018,
and he is a big favorite in the rematch at minus 550 to win.
But Ortiz is looking off to pull the upset,
and at age 40,
become the third oldest man to hold the heavyweight title.
So he said he's not letting age stand in his way.
Age is nothing but a number as he prepares for the 34-year-old
Deonté Wilder.
A lot of people thought, a lot of people thought Ortiz was winning that fight before Wilder
got him in the 10th.
A lot of people, that was a very close fight.
Well, he said he had him hurt.
Wilder said he was buzz, not hurt, but he is a big time hitter.
I mean, I was talking to you about it the other day that even just the,
I was walking past in the hallway we have like the,
posters up in the hallways here.
And I just kind of stop for a second.
Like, my God, Ortiz's glove looks like literally this big.
Yeah.
By the way, that's not an easy out because he faces Tyson Fury next.
Deonté Wilder has his career's biggest fight.
So this is not, this is one of those sandwich games in the NFL or college.
This will be a good fight.
No, this is a big time fight.
And Ortiz has gone 3 and 0, two wins by knockouts since the Wilder fight, since he's lost to
Wilder.
obviously Wilder's 41 and 0 and 1 with 40 knockouts in his career,
but this will be a big time fight.
You can catch tomorrow night, 9 Eastern on pay-per-view and the Fox Sports app.
Good stuff.
I'll be watching that for sure.
Not a great day of college football outside of Penn State, Ohio State,
so that fight's one of the better things on.
Joy with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.
The Hurdline News.
I have been waiting for this all day.
Huge NFL weekend.
tomorrow's headlines today with Jason McIntyre in our best for last.
Good last 12 minutes of the show.
Be sure to catch live editions of the herd weekdays in noon Eastern, 9 a.m. Pacific on Fox Sports
Radio, FS1, and the IHeart Radio app.
Guys, get your own shampoo.
Dove Men Plus Care.
Available at Walmart.
Stop borrowing your girlfriends or your wives.
Good to have you in.
So we have a week.
We have like four or five power games this weekend.
It does feel like, I do feel like every, you know, every divisional leader has a special quarterback.
I was saying this about last night.
We predicted this on the air.
We sounded smart.
I said, Indy will do everything right.
Houston will have all sorts of issues and Houston will win because of Deshaun Watson.
So Houston, O for two on fourth down, O for two in the red zone.
More penalties, got crushed in time of possession.
Indy did everything right.
And Deshaun just made a couple plays.
And I'm like, that's why Tua is not falling in the draft.
Right. Who's saying he's falling?
It's so weird.
We read a CBS sports column.
I didn't mention the person.
I'm like, they have him going to 32.
Are you what?
Houston Indianapolis is the classic example of the better run team and better coach team lost
because of the quarterback can make plays.
That was the whole game last night.
Did you notice the Colts?
They can't, they don't have explosive plays.
They can't get 20, 30, 40-yard chunks.
DeShon Watson's just picking those up like nothing with Hopkins and Fuller.
Yeah, he was four-for-four on plus 30-yard plays with two touchdown.
He's a special kid.
And by what, Hopkins is.
Hopkins is nasty.
Hopkins is maybe the best athlete in the league.
He's out there.
He's way up there.
All right.
Jason McIntyre, former newspaper guy, bailed on that profession.
Now he's doing TV and radio.
But we use sort of his old business model, the old newspaper headlines.
We call it tomorrow's headlines today.
What will the headline be after the Seapok Eagle game?
Sneaky good game.
I mean, this is a great game.
I'm surprised it was flexed out of Sunday night.
You know, Russell Wilson versus Carson Wentz, a really good matchup, right, Colin?
Two good quarterbacks.
The headline will be.
where there's a Wilson, there's a way.
Give me Russell Wilson on the road.
I'm going to bag on Carson once for a sec.
First of all, Lane Johnson, their great left tackle,
not out of concussion protocol.
Doug Peterson just said it about 20 minutes ago.
Doesn't look like he's going to play.
That's not great.
In the last four years, they're three and nine without Lane Johnson.
So they're putting a rookie at left tackle,
apparently to fill in for Lane Johnson.
I don't think that's good news.
But where there's a Wilson, there's a way.
Russ just seems to find a way to win these close games, right?
Carson went, since they won the Super Bowl with Foles,
he's just 10 and 11 as a starter.
He doesn't strike me as the guy who's going to bring you back
with that awesome fourth quarter rally
the way we see Russell Wilson do it every week.
He's, I mean, he's their MVP for a leader, 23 TDs, two picks.
Colin, off a bye week, last six years, Pete Carroll,
who gets his team prepared, five and one.
Yeah, this was one of my picks of the week.
And I also think, you know, you have to be careful.
San Francisco looked unbeatable early.
Now we've seen some weaknesses.
Seattle added Josh Gordon and Janavian Clowney.
So a lot of us, myself included,
watched them lose to Baltimore at home
and kind of sell our stock.
No, no, no. Gordon's a real deep threat.
Clowny had his best game as a pro.
And Pete Carroll's, generally Pete Carroll's,
the way it's worked,
his teams tend to be like Belichick,
better late in seasons.
Remember they lost the Legion of Boom
and it felt like the dynasty was over.
It felt like they were done.
Russell Wilson still has it.
They could get the number one seed in the end.
I mean, it's just crazy how good Russell Wilson has been.
Shout out, he's a guy of yours, right?
You guys are buddies?
He comes on the show.
He comes on the show.
Texting Russell.
Do you know Sierra?
His wife?
Sierra, sorry.
Sierra.
She is a very, very beautiful woman.
Extremely.
She is.
Hey, I just, just connected with Gucci, Maine.
Don't ask too much in one week.
Okay.
Work harder.
Nobody cares.
Work harder.
Nobody cares.
Work harder.
What did I say?
Work harder and nobody cares.
Listen, we'll be on a first name basis.
Goochie Maine, huh?
Okay, here we go.
Tomorrow's headlines today.
What's the headline going to be after the Cowboys Patriots game?
Listen, you and I agree on a lot of stuff, industry-wide, health, hair products, but not on this game, Colin.
The headline will be, the Empire Strikes Dack.
We got the awesome photo.
Thank you to the staff here of Belichick with the hoodie.
I cannot understand what you see and like in the Cowboys in this game, Colin.
By the way, 100% precipitation.
It's going to rain on Sunday.
Dak Prescott in the rain against the number one pass defense in the league.
And historically, this is a great pass defense.
I just don't buy it, Colin.
I'm sorry.
They've beat one, wait, they beat zero teams with a winning record this year.
DAC against the Saints, not good.
Dak against the Packers, three interceptions.
Didn't do anything against my jets.
I'm sorry.
I still refuse to buy DAC.
I know there's hype on social media.
Oh, he's an MVP candidate.
Look at his stats.
All right.
No Vanderex, by the way, for that Cowboys defense.
Well, here's the thing.
Dak loses big games.
He has.
He generally keeps them in games.
They're six and a half.
So even as a better, six and a half, did you like?
This game's going to be low scoring.
It's going to be 24, 20.
Six and a half is too many points.
I just, I've never bought into Dak as a star.
Listen, he's had a great year, no doubt about it.
But what's going to happen when they take away Gallup and Amari Cooper?
All they've got to do is put Gilmore, who's one of the best.
best corner covers in the league on Cooper.
And then it's like, what is Dak going to do?
Beat him with his legs.
Zeke Elliott can't get started on the ground.
It's been a rough go for Dallas.
If you really look inside their games, they're beating bad teams.
I don't want to hear these stats for beating the New York Giants twice, Colin.
I'm sorry.
I'm not.
Patriots, Bigley.
Tomorrow's headlines today, what will it be after the Packers-Niners affair?
I know your affinity for Aaron Rogers.
You guys, just like Russell Wilson, you're very chummy.
You're always saying nice things about Rogers.
a little thin skin with my criticism. Has he blocked you on Twitter lately?
I don't know if I even follow him. I don't know.
All right. The headline will be Mr. Rogers' neighborhood. There's Aaron Rogers. I think this is
the opening weekend of that Tom. It's getting great reviews. Oh yeah. It looks phenomenal.
Aaron Rogers returns to the Bay Area. My favorite narrative around this game is, remember the 49ers took Alex Smith
first overall. Yes. And these guys like Brady and Aaron Rogers, they carry a grudge, okay?
My parents taught me, Jason, don't carry grudges. That's terrible. Aaron Rogers is
Still salty. He fell in the draft and they didn't take him first. Another fun trend, if you're into that for the gamblers.
Aaron Rogers off a buy, eight, four, and one against the spread. This is by far the best quarterback. The 49ers will have seen this year.
Yeah. And they're leaking oil a little bit now. You know, you can break the seasons into quarters, right? How do they do early 49ers have been awesome?
And then they had their buy week. Then they beat up on a lot of bad teams. Look at them the last three weeks, Colin. What have you seen from them?
didn't cover against Arizona barely won.
Haven't run the ball as effectively.
And Aaron Jones is coming in,
one of the better running backs in the league.
And then they struggled again against the Cardinals.
They needed a late touchdown to win that.
We saw them implode against the Seahawks, Colin.
I don't know.
I don't feel good at all about the Niners here.
I like Aaron Rogers.
Your guy to come back to the Bay Area and get the W.
By the way, that movie is debuting Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood.
Joy says you've seen the reviews and the reviews are.
All the reviews are very good.
There's some Oscar buzz for Tom.
Thanks.
The billboard, as I drive to work, there's two billboards I see on that.
So that generally means, first of all, it's November.
So you release, studios release their best movies in November to win to win awards.
So I've seen two billboards.
They also studios only put up billboards for movies they think can win awards.
I like how we've mixed in a little pop culture and some movies here.
That's you.
Yeah, no doubt about it.
Tomorrow's headlines today.
What will the headline be after the Ravens Rams Monday night?
So I just came in here, got in the elevator with Eric Dickerson, Rams running back.
And I said, oh, you're excited about the game.
Eric Dickerson, I'm scared.
I believe this is all Ravens.
I'm sorry, folks.
Headline will be Peters picked a pair of passes.
Marcus Peters.
So the guy practices with golf and the Rams for two years, knows their tendencies,
knows the receivers, their routes, everything.
And now he's going to come here and play.
They got the best secondary in the league right now with three great cornerbacks.
Colin, since the market.
Peter's trade, the Baltimore Ravens have the number one defense in the NFL. And guess who they
faced? Tom Brady, shut him down, beat him by double digits. Russell Wilson, beat him by double
digits. Deshawn Watson, beat them by double digits. This team right now, this has a Super Bowl
feel for the Ravens. You know what it feels like? It feels like the Cam Super Bowl Carolina team,
where they start a little choppy, they find their offensive identity with a hyper-athletic
quarterback. He becomes kind of a matchup issue. You don't face anybody in the league
quite like Cam.
You don't face anybody quite like him.
And all of a sudden, they get home field advantage.
And Carolina became this highly emotional.
There was a Tyson quality.
They just came bursting out of the gates.
No, that's a good one.
They feel very much like the Carolina team.
And the question was, well, it forced to throw.
And you're like, well, they don't have to because they take gigantic leads on everybody.
And Cam until the Super Bowl wasn't forced to throw.
Now, I got a lot of Rams fans who were watching this.
They were talking to me last night saying, Jason, you got to get Colin on these rant.
We got to get the Rams going.
I'm telling you, when you faced Lamar Jackson for the first time,
it is such a shock to the system.
And his counterpart, Jared Gough, we were going to make a headline going after Gough.
Did you see them take the ball out of his hands against the Bears?
They were like, dude, we just got a handoff in the second half.
They were running the same running play.
Collinsworth kept calling it out.
You just run the same run over and over.
I don't think that's going to work against the Ravens.
And Gough against his secondary, I like the Ravens here, Colin.
I know that's a square pick.
and the entire betting public's on the Ravens?
The betters in Vegas like the Rams.
The Sharp guys like the Rams, but listen, they don't win all the time.
Let's not act like the sharps are winning 80% of their games.
They're still like 56-57.
And I just don't want to get in front of that Ravens freight train, Colin.
By the way, Jason McIntyre, don't forget, support your body's testosterone.
Go to mDriveferman.com.
The code has heard 20% off.
So this weekend, it is, we have a fight on Saturday, one big college football game, a ton of the NFL.
So what is your theory?
the NBA ratings are down 27% last two years.
What is your theory on it?
Well, I mean, the stars are all hurt, right?
No Kevin Durant, no Steph Curry.
Steph Curry led the league in Jersey sales for three years during LeBron's Prime.
The Warriors are unwatchable now, but you have to slate the games early.
So the Warriors are on TV like every week, right?
Nobody wants to watch them.
I also think you're right.
You mentioned something about the East Coast, has no good teams, no stars.
There's no...
Yonis is the biggest star.
Think about the East.
LeBron left it.
Kauai left.
it. Durant goes there is hurt.
And Janice is a great kid,
but he's not a big TV draw.
Yeah. So the reality is
people are making all these assumptions on the NBA
ratings. The early window is an
Eastern game. There's
Victorola Depot is a star.
Bradley Beal. I love those guys.
Television's about stars.
Even the Celtics right now. Kemper Walker's a good
player, not a star. He's not a star. Jason Tatum, you're not
tuning. By the way, Kyrie Irving is now
hurt. He's hurt. Yeah, the Nets. I mean,
people want to make these sweeping
generalizations. Oh, the China story really killed the NBA. No, not at all. That stuff's overrated.
I think the problem is the two best teams in the NBA, it looks clearly, are in the same city,
and they're both late games for the TV partners. So you're kind of, it doesn't matter how good
that game does. Your first game gets no numbers. You're trapped as a network.
And we talk about this all the time. The NBA, the first two weeks are exciting. Basketball's back.
And then it's like, oh, let me go back to football. College football matters. Yeah, NBA. We'll see you on Christmas
Day. All right, good stuff. Monday. Thank you, Jason.
where Colin was right, where Colin was wrong.
Obviously, we're going to be talking about, I don't know, the Cowboys.
I think they beat the Patriots.
I think the Packers, my gut feeling, I wouldn't put it, Blazing 5, beat the 49ers.
And then we'll have a Monday night game.
I like the Ravens over the Rams.
And we hope you stop by.
Speak for yourself is around the corner.
Thanks so much.
See you Monday.
Speak for yourself next.
