Starting point is 00:03:45 I'm Daniel Kormier, joined by my boys from my block. Hey, what's up, fellas? What's up, what? What's up? Good, man. It's the holiday season. I was the holidays. It was straight, bro.
Starting point is 00:03:57 I made my first turkey. So it came out pretty good. A little spicy. That thing must have been bland, man. I don't know. That thing was spicy, the spice. The only season with red pepper,
Starting point is 00:04:07 all. He only season with red pepper. That bottle used nothing but red pepper, man. No, he used, like, agave and stuff. Now, though, you know. Oh, yeah, he's tripping. You got a whole bunch of different, different peppers now, you know, he had breached in the air.
Starting point is 00:04:21 Poblano peppers. Poblano peppers. Problano peppers. Blas. Guys, after last week, Lace had a few cocktails. So we did rename the show Lace Ruffin.
Starting point is 00:04:38 It was there. That whiskey took over, man. I was just waiting. I was like, Hey, hey, can I go?
Starting point is 00:04:48 You start raising your hand in class to get a word and handswashed with lace, man. God, bro. Well, that's not me. That's the crazy part. That's so not me. Nobody came to hear you, D.C.
Starting point is 00:05:01 He got me out of, Terry's corner, man. Gary's Corner. Oh, my God. That was hilarious. All right, fellas. So, a lot has been going on in the world of mixed martial arts. Obviously, last week, the PFL bought Bellator.
Starting point is 00:05:20 Bellator held this last event last week. They've got some great champions in Belator right now. They're all going to go over to the PFL now. Unfortunately, a couple of better champions in Belator don't have weight classes in the PFL. So I'm interested to see how they work around that. I'm hearing that all Belator fights will be taking place now overseas. So Belator will not be a North American promotion anymore.
Starting point is 00:05:46 But obviously we'll get into that down the line when things start to happen. what was biggest to me. Don Davis is the owner of the PFL, and he was on Ariel Hawani show the other day. And one of the biggest topics of conversation constantly is Nate Diaz, who still is at UFC events, still gets treated like a UFC guy. They really do love Nate Diaz for all that he's done over the course of his career. Well, Don Davis on Ariel's show said one thing.
Starting point is 00:06:17 He goes, one thing about Nate Diaz. or fighters are entrepreneurs. They're their own men. They do what they want to do. Nate will do it when he wants to do it. He's talking about fighting Jake Paul and MMA. So I'm just going to create a canvas that we're open for business.
Starting point is 00:06:34 It's like the old Motel 6. We'll leave the light on you. Light on for you. I just want to leave the light on and I want to say, Nate, here's $15 million. Here's Jake Paul. We have all the infrastructure
Starting point is 00:06:49 at the PFL were easy to work with. Dink the lights on. So essentially, he's saying to Nate, 15 million fight Jake Paul and MMA fight. Nate replies, as only Nate can reply, I'm good. I'd rather fight real fighters and never go backtrack to the minor leagues,
Starting point is 00:07:13 put CFL, fight yourself, dip shit. Here's Nate Diaz, bro. But only Nate Diaz, bro. but only Nate Diaz could respond in this way. So when you hear that there's a $15 million offer on the table for Nate Diaz, because the way Nate responded, sounds like it's real. What does it make you feel?
Starting point is 00:07:34 Because before it kind of feels like, oh, this guy's just talking. It sounds now with Nate responding the way that he did, this is a real offer. So like, what do you think when you hear $15 million for Nate to fight Jake Paul in an MMA fight? Start with you, Jumel. Hey, I just, I don't know. I really don't know because this guy was talking about Dana Worry now and all this.
Starting point is 00:07:55 If Dana worry, why are you begging? Why are you begging Nate Diaz to come fight over here, bro? If you need Nate Diaz, why would, why would Dana White be worked? You remember that movie, Donk Ministers Society when he's like, I got these cheese burgers. You're right? Like, you just beg it. That's what it's coming off as, though. Like, I got these cheese burgers.
Starting point is 00:08:12 I'll do anything, Nate Diaz. Please just come help me out. That's what's coming off. But that's what it's coming off as. If you're going to offer 15 million, you can't one week say, Dana White is not worried. He don't mention anybody unless he's worried.
Starting point is 00:08:26 He mentioned us. But then you're going after Nate Diaz, like, please come help us. That's what the 15 million is showing. It's like, please, I'm going to give you anything just to help us. Correct. Well, I think the fact that he's wanting Nate Diaz to fight in the PFL, it's more about his,
Starting point is 00:08:46 the prospect of a fight between him and Jake Paul. I think, you know, it did, it did numbers. It did good numbers. A lot of eyes. Social media actually took over that fight, you know. And the fact that they fought in boxing and for the last 10 years, all Nate's been talking about is how he's the best boxer in MMA. And then he goes and lose to a guy who, you know,
Starting point is 00:09:08 just started taking boxing pretty seriously. I think if he goes and fights in the PFL, And loses, he does exactly what Jamel's fishing for Don to get. Who loses? If, now listen, I'm not saying, look, I'm not saying he loses. But I'm saying if he goes and he fights in the PFL and he loses in the PFL, not to Jake Paul. I'm not saying just Jake Paul. Oh, we're talking about Jake Paul.
Starting point is 00:09:36 I was thinking, I was like, yeah, but the 15 million is just to get him to come and fight. Bro, he's not making that money. He didn't make that money in the U.S. UFC. So he goes and gets $15 million in the PFL. Then he fights again. If he loses in the PFL, everything that he says in that last tweet, the pussyFL and the minor leagues and stuff like that legitimizes the PFL, you know, and then it casts a dark cloud over Nate Diaz because he's been saying that their second rate the whole time. That's why I think he's trying to give him this $15 million. Come legitimize our PFL with your name. He's trying to go to him into fighting into the organization with the idea that he's going to lose. I got a point to that, but let me let Terry get his first thought in before. Go ahead, Terry. You sure?
Starting point is 00:10:20 Can I talk? Is it all right? Hey, David Ruffing guy. Hey, David Ruffin came back to the tips. I don't want to be handcuffed, bro. But yeah, like, I don't see why he wouldn't do it. Like, if they're offered him $50 million to me, like it is a legacy fight, like Craig is saying, they want the name. And if he already fought, like he, he's not.
Starting point is 00:10:39 like he fought boxing already so what's the point of him not going to do it he already damaged his legacy by losing to jake paul sorry so why why wouldn't he yeah yeah i'm sorry bro yeah so i'm like he already damaged his legacy by by losing to jake paul in boxing so that's part of his stand he was a good stand-up good boxer so why wouldn't he go to pfl about to uh to fight for 50 million dollars Like they're gonna like you said They're gonna use his name and he's gonna further the promotion But that's about it and like Nothing exciting for me
Starting point is 00:11:17 So for me it's this right? And this is where I kind of like it kind of to me I do believe that there is a ton of value in Nate Diaz going to the PFL He still one of the biggest names of fighting But But first things first I don't know if there's another place where he's getting 15 million to fight I don't think he gets that in the UFC
Starting point is 00:11:39 I know for a fact that if he was getting that, he's fighting Connor McGregor and Connor McGregor only because their fights do so well, and it would be a third fight between those two. I also don't know, I know for a fact that he would not get $15 million to fight an amateur. Because essentially if he goes to the PFL,
Starting point is 00:12:00 he's fighting the amateur and Jake Paul. Just like Jake Paul fought an amateur boxer and Nate Diaz as the floor with Connor as the Tyson Fury with Francis and Ghana. these guys are amateur boxers. It would be the first time a guy that is known as a boxer goes and fights mixed martial arts. I have no doubt in my mind that Nate Diaz would submit Logan, Dylan, what's his name, Jake Paul? I have no, I have no doubt my mind.
Starting point is 00:12:28 Nate would beat and submit Jake Paul. But I don't know that it really does much for him outside of getting him all this money. I don't know why he would want to go fight there outside of just taking the cash. But his response tells me is that he still has his eyes on, one, possibly going back to the UFC or something better. If they are offering them $15 million, he must feel like there's 20 out there, right? Because you know the money that they have with the Saudis now buying into the PFL. So he must think that there's more money out there for him. That's the only reason he wouldn't be taking this fight or jumping at this fight right now.
Starting point is 00:13:05 Or he made a ton of money in that boxing fight. so he may not just need money. He might be like, you know what? Nate's not a guy that's going to do whatever anybody else tells him. She's probably, I got enough money now. I don't need to listen to these people. But outside of the money, there really is no reason for him to go to the PFL. But boy, does it not tell you how deep the pockets that these people have to be offering that type of money to Nate?
Starting point is 00:13:29 Could you imagine what Francis is making right now? If Nate's getting offered $15 million, it's crazy. And Craig, another thing. Another thing, Craig, you said if he loses in the PFL. Derek Brunson, you guys all know Derek Brunson, DB, we all cool, we all know DB. Derek Brunson was still in the top 12 in the UFC, but Derek Brunson was not winning anymore. He fought that guy Ray Cooper last weekend and made it look easy. And Ray Cooper has been in the finals of that tournament two times.
Starting point is 00:14:04 Derek made it look easy, Craig. So don't trick yourself in the believing that the levels are the same Because they are much different. I'm not trying to. What I really honestly, in my thing is this, I think the biggest, and I might sound like a homer or whatever. However, this is going to come off. But I think the biggest fight in MMA,
Starting point is 00:14:26 not the best fight. But the biggest fight in MMA is still Connor McGregor versus Nate D.S. 3. Yeah, for the third fight. That's the biggest fight. It's the biggest fight that anybody, any promotion can put on. Everybody's still going to watch it because those two, they just clash like two goats. But the thing is, if he goes to the PFL and he doesn't look good, not just loses. If he just looks like I just rolled out of my couch just to go make this $15 million, I think that damages a potential fight with Connor McGregor, a third fight.
Starting point is 00:14:59 Tell me the last time he looked. look good, dog. Like, that's all about to say, Jamel. Yeah. Nate Diaz actually fought Leon Edwards.
Starting point is 00:15:09 He fought Leon Edwards for 24 minutes, got beat, landed one punch, pointed at him, and he was like he won the fight. It's like he hasn't really looked like that same guy. Even the Tony Ferguson fight, like him and Tony Ferguson
Starting point is 00:15:21 had a pretty decent fight up until he submitted him late in the fight. So it's like, I don't know, Craig. All he needs is one moment, right? And his boy, the Nate Dee.
Starting point is 00:15:32 Navy would play. He won. He won. He would have won. He had six rounds. He would have won. I really don't know how much he would help the PFL. Like, nobody's expecting Nade Diaz to just go win fights no more, duh. For sure. Just Nate Diaz being in Fice is a cool thing to watch. But nobody's expecting Nade S to go win fights. If he's in the PFL, they do. If he's in the PFL, they do. All right. That's not, that's no knock on the guys that are fighting in the PFL. But I'm telling you, there's this idea that if you leave the UFC and you go there, you should find success. That's what Shane Burgos thought that too, and he hasn't been doing that. Ben Burgos lost.
Starting point is 00:16:12 But dude. So there's a big signing for them. But Terry, for Shane Burgos, there are 10 other ones that went and did really well. It was like when those guys all left the UFC went to Bellator initially. Corey Anderson became the champ. Ryan Bader became the champ. All those guys that left the UFC became champion. Now the Bellator guys are just.
Starting point is 00:16:31 unbelievable these champions. But it's like they would expect him to be success. I mean, Aspen Ladd left the UFC and she was running the mill. She just fought against Kayla Harrison in one of the biggest women's fights they put on. So there's this perception that when you leave the UFC,
Starting point is 00:16:49 you should be able to compete anywhere else. Oben, Mercy, like one of the top guys, right? Or Ben Mercieran won two million dollars, bro. Yeah, he's like two-time champion there. And then he was like he was middle of the road in the UFC, so I get your point. Yeah. Go ahead, Jamel.
Starting point is 00:17:05 Nothing, man. No, see what you're going to see, man. I'm going to just wait. I'm going to just wait to see it, Doug. I'm going to just wait to see it. But I don't think, like, Ryan Bader was still a contender when he left the UFC. And so was Corey Anderson. But his Nate Diaz. And so was Derek Brunson. He's still the top 10 or 12.
Starting point is 00:17:26 They were all the same. But is Nate Diaz. Nate Diaz is still one of the biggest name in all the following. I'm not asking. I know he's one of the biggest names. But if we're going to compare it to some other people that became champ that was kind of contenders in the UFC still,
Starting point is 00:17:42 let's compare it. Is he or is he leaving as a statement? Say it. Answer or take a shot? I just, like they're trying to get him to fight Jake Paul, man. Like, so obviously. they're not looking at him to be a champion in the PFL.
Starting point is 00:18:01 Well, to be a champion, the PFL, you've got to go through the tournament. You got to go to the tournament. Yeah, so it's like you can't. Anthony Pettis couldn't go through the tournament. Nope. But I bet on a one night thing Anthony Pettus could do really well. I think that is what's going to probably happen more for the PFL. Anna Dave had absolved Bellator, absorbed Bellator and having all these high-level fighters.
Starting point is 00:18:25 They got a champion versus champion card. that's going to happen next year, that should be really, really good. And I expect them to continue to put on big fights. I actually like Nate Diaz too. Was that? I actually like Nate Diaz, but I just don't know what he's going to do for PFL. Besides going to make $15 million. I just don't know.
Starting point is 00:18:46 And his name, Jamel, he's got a big name. He's got like a really, really big name. And like Craig said, social media went crazy when he boxed. So imagine what he would get if he's fighting MMA. against Jake Paul. It would be like Jake Paul's making his MMA debut and he's fighting it. It would be crazy.
Starting point is 00:19:04 And it would be one of the, there's not a guy that could put across from Jake Paul in MMA that could do as well as Nate Diaz because any other fighter won't sell as many pay-per-views. I agree. Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged. It's the enhanced games. Some call it grotesque.
Starting point is 00:19:25 Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year. Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth. Listen to Superhuman on the I-Hard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. A win is a win.
Starting point is 00:19:48 A win is a win. I don't care which I'll say it. Yep, that's me, Cliver Taylor the 4th. You might have seen the skits, the reactions, my journey from basketball to college football or my career in sports media. Well, somewhere along the way, this platform became bigger than I ever imagined.
Starting point is 00:20:05 And now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Clifford Show. This is a place for raw, unfiltered conversations with some of your favorite athletes, creators, and voices that not only deserve to be heard, but celebrated. One week, I'll take you behind the scenes of the biggest moments in sports and entertainment. And the next, we'll talk about life, mental health,
Starting point is 00:20:24 purpose, and even music. The Clifford Show isn't just a podcast. It's a space for honest conversations, stories that don't always get told, and for people who are chasing something bigger. So if you've ever supported me or you're just chasing down a dream, this is right where you need to be. Listen to The Clifford show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more behind the scenes, follow at Clifford and at TikTok Podcast Network on TikTok. Do you remember when Diana Ross double-tap Little Kim's boobs at the VMAs? Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people. I know what you're thinking.
Starting point is 00:20:59 What the hell does George Bush got to do with a little Kim? Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast. I'm Sam J. And I'm Alex English. Each episode, we picket here, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it. Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill, waxing all about crack in the 80s.
Starting point is 00:21:17 To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack. I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so you're not. I mean, at this point, this is the second episode where we've discussed correct. So I'm starting to see that there's a through line. We also have AIDS on the table right now. Thank you finishing that sentence. Yes. I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Starting point is 00:21:39 Really? Yeah. For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history. Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. All right. So, Shone O'Malley became the. UFC 135 pound champ by beating Al Jermaine Sterling.
Starting point is 00:21:58 All before that fight, Aljo was on that long win street. He was talking about going to 145. Sean O'alley was the show last weekend, and he spoke about Al Jermaine. And he was really nice about it, very respectful, said, I never said much about him in regards to negative. I was always kind of positive, but he did say this. He said, Aljo will probably go back to 135 because he's insecure, and he won't. wants to be stronger and bigger than these guys. Why else would he not fight 145? It's not like
Starting point is 00:22:30 his skills aren't there. His skills, he's good. He's just not as good as me, but he's good. You know what I mean? He could go up to 45. I think he would do fine up there. And he pointed to some of the fights. He pointed to some of the exciting matchups like watching Aljo fight Brian Ortega, so on and so far. So is there any truth that is Al Jermaine Sterling not going up to 145 because he loses that size advantage there. We have seen him use that on a number of occasions to dominate guys. But for me, I don't think it's that. I think it's because he lost.
Starting point is 00:23:07 And if you can make the weight, you go and fight the weight. But is Sean O'Malley on to something here? I don't think he ever had a problem making the weight. Like he did dominate smaller guys with his style, like with his style, like with his style, his wrestling, what he called himself, the human backpack. Yeah. So for him to just be big and stronger, that's a big thing, man. But I'm looking at the 145 pound division, and there's not many people he's going to be able to overpower.
Starting point is 00:23:32 And he was saying that he got offered Kelvin Cater. That's a good matchup, but Caters just seemed so much bigger. He's so much bigger to him. So much bigger. And I'm like, so I'm like, who could he fight? Like, you go down, he's not going to be able to fight max. Toporia looks to be a problem. Obviously, Vok is a problem.
Starting point is 00:23:49 Like, who can he use that size advantage on? and he's not going to have it because I guess from what he was saying that he was going to be an average 145 pound so he's not going to be that much bigger than anybody so he'd have to fight like a maybe a dan ige or something just to test himself at that way he is just like short he's just smaller he's very thick yeah but he's just shorter right so i don't know like that's just that's a dangerous division like obviously he's a former champion so the skills are there man but it's just like his style I don't know if he can implement that at 145. And you know what the problem is with that?
Starting point is 00:24:25 You know what the problem is with that, Craig? Because of what Terry just said, he's a former champion. Former champions don't get layup fights. So all those guys that he spoke about that might be very difficult matchups, those are the guys he's fighting right away. How about the fact that Sean O'Malley is is McMainer, though? You know, like, O'Malley's out there telling him who he going to fight next or who he should fight next and stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:24:51 I think it's interesting. You know, the thing is, at 35, he lost to O'Malley. It doesn't seem like that fight's coming back. I think Marab has a better chance of fighting O'Malley before he does. So moving on, go to 145. But the thing that strikes me the most about it is I saw and read psychologically, like two or three different times in his last interview. And that's not cool to me.
Starting point is 00:25:17 because if he's thinking mentally going to 1.45, I think he's not really checking into that division with the confidence that he needs to be the world champion that he is. So I don't like it. I think he needs to be fighting 145 because 35 is gone. Who else is there for him to fight other than O'Malley? On the 45 anyway. So deuses, man. But how much, how much Jamel has that taken away the confidence of Al Jermaine to want to go up to 145, considering he did get beaten the last fight, and he got knocked out. So the prospects are going to fight, and the bigger dude after getting knocked out, would not seem that interesting to me if I was just coming off of a knockout loss.
Starting point is 00:26:03 I think, I think, um, Sean O'Malley's kind of on the stuff. Because if you remember after the fight when Aljo said, like, I got to reconsider. If he can catch me with that, I can only imagine with the guys that 1.45 would do. So if you add that to the fact that he's, Now he's saying, man, I was always bigger than everybody else and stronger. And then, you know, now he's kind of like going back and forward in a decision. I just really think he may be a little bit worried about it or a little insecure.
Starting point is 00:26:32 So I think I think Sean O'Malley's kind of on or something, but I don't want to call it that, man. I don't want to say a man is insecure. But just the way he's talking, I kind of believe that he's a little bit worried about those matchups at 145. because it'll be a lot harder for him to go beat champ at 145, then to probably wait for his next shot at 135. Because he's going to beat most of those guys at 135 again, unless Marab gets the title and then he's just waiting. They won't fight each other.
Starting point is 00:26:59 They won't fight each other. But here's the question, though, like, why did Al Jemey and Sterling not get a rematch? When so many have gotten rematches. Why was it not even considered? It's just like the Nadeez effect, the name. He has shown. The O'Malley Hypereteen, bro.
Starting point is 00:27:18 That's it. Sean O'Malley said, ah, nah, next. They need to know. It ain't. It ain't.
Starting point is 00:27:25 It ain't. No matter how many times you, don't matter how many times you defended. If your name is not shown O'Malley, you don't make no decision. Yeah, you're not. They got to do O'Malley Vera, bro. That was the only fight to be made.
Starting point is 00:27:37 Nah, Sean O'Malley just kind of going through. Nah. Nope. Nope. No. All you. All right.
Starting point is 00:27:42 All right. That one. That one right there. Bro, but Cheeto beat him already. Why would he pick the guy that beat him? That one. He got to get that back. That's the only state on his record, bro.
Starting point is 00:27:57 Like, I got a hope. Well, he said he undefeated. Yeah. Yeah, man, it's something. He believes to do. Yeah, but that ain't true. Yeah, that ain't true. He believes he undefeated, bro.
Starting point is 00:28:05 Whatever you want to say that. You can believe what you want, bro. That's the way. Hey, Cheeto had a beater under that hoodie he was wearing when they was facing off, too. He knew, brother. I think he showed him. Like he let him see, I got a beat on,
Starting point is 00:28:17 ball, you know that. He had to beat him. He had to beat him. If you wear a white beard. If you had a beat, though. That'll be interesting to see what happens with Al Jermaine Sterling, because I'm interested to see what he decides to do.
Starting point is 00:28:35 I think that he's valuable in either weight cost. I don't know if his dollar is as effective at 145. He's long. He's tall. He's big. But even though he might weigh 170 now, I believe he's only 170 when he's just like severely out of shape. So I can only imagine when he starts to train that the weight comes down pretty quickly. And then he's right back in line with the rest of the guys that are fighting at 135.
Starting point is 00:29:01 I'd prefer that he stays at 135 because I believe that in time, he will find his way back to a championship opportunity. He just might have to fight one of his buddies in order to get that bell back. But again, that lends itself to, hey, what are you willing to do to be the champ? That might be a question Aljo has to answer very soon. Last one, boys. Alex Pereira, the guy that y'all all love, they call him Thanos and everything. Like this dude done messed up the timeline, collecting Infinity Stones. He really is Thanos, bro.
Starting point is 00:29:37 He was talking the other day about Jamal Hill. Jamal said that he's going to knock him out. To that, Alex said this. Everybody saw that he was saying he will knock me out and he won't wrestle me. He will stay in the striking and he will knock me out. Sure. Obviously, every guy who could be the next challenger for the champ will start talking. But I believe that he's a little bit overconfident.
Starting point is 00:30:02 I never said I will knock someone out or whatever because you're in a fight camp. You prepare yourself. You have to focus on the fight. And I always say I will give you guys a good fight and a good showing. We're predicting what happens is a little bit difficult, and I think he's a little bit overconfident with everything that he's saying. He also went on to touch on Israel, Edassania. He said, I will respect Edasanya's opinion.
Starting point is 00:30:30 It doesn't matter if he's afraid or not, or not ready or whatever, or he just wants to stay a little bit out. If he doesn't want to fight me now, that's okay. I respect that. That's totally fine. first on Jamal Hill one do y'all believe Jamal Hill is just going to stand in front
Starting point is 00:30:47 this dude and try to knock him out no he better go to Dagestan and learn how to wrestle bro because that's not a smart idea bro like like anybody 205 to 265 bro like heavyweight they're gonna
Starting point is 00:31:03 they can they can finish the fight but is that smart man like I don't I don't think anyone should stand in front of this dude and to say that's that so dangerous interest there it's just that i don't know bro like his left hook like that power is different bro that dude just must be dense and like you say you he kicked you with like a little small leg kick bro and this stuff hurt so this dude's bones just must be different bro like that's that amazonian
Starting point is 00:31:26 strength he's from amazon he's different so yeah like if you stay if that's his game plan and just stand up there and just show how tough he is man you've seen that with sean strickland that didn't work you know so i would say man he better get his wrestling in and try to use that jude Jitsu brown belt, man, and take care of business, man. Because if that's his plan, he's out. Like, sorry. You know, I went in that fight, bro. Like, not like that.
Starting point is 00:31:52 What is it with fighters, man? Is it an ego thing or what? Like, because a lot of fighters will go in there and be like, I can, I can stand with this guy. I can box with this guy when they have an easier path to win or to compete. I just think Jumal here is not going. There's no way, though. Like, it's not.
Starting point is 00:32:10 And T, I don't think it's just the. left hook, I think it's all of it. I'm watching this dude, bro. I'm watching this dude, and I see Yeri doing all kinds of stuff before the fight. This dude just got the stone face on. And I'm like, he's a savage, man. Hey, that's one dude. I don't want to, I don't want to, I don't even, I don't even want to take, if I'm a fan dog, I don't even want to go asking for a pitcher and do a face off. Like, I'm not doing it, bro, but I think Jamar Hill, he better wrestle. And I like Jamar Hill, I met him and everything, but it's not smart. Why would you do that if you see the outcome. You know, with some
Starting point is 00:32:43 strikers that is better strikers than you are. Why would you try that? But, oh, I got a question for you while we're at, what are you doing? Because you, you've had an opportunity to wrestle with people, which is like, you know what I'm a standing bang? Like, what makes fighters want to do that?
Starting point is 00:32:59 I only did, I didn't really want to do that. It's like when you couldn't take him down or when you start getting tired, man. You get tired up and that so you end up standing and trading. Look, I would have wrestled Gustafson more, but then he cut me. And so now you're just in like, it's something in you that kind of clicks and you can't come back out of it.
Starting point is 00:33:16 It's a weird, weird deal because between every round, Bob would ask me like, wrestle, you got to wrestle. They kept telling me wrestle, wrestle, wrestle. But it's like something that is in the fighter that once you cross over to a point, there really is no bringing you back, especially if you're finding success. When he need me, I kind of wish I was wrestling more. But, but yeah, it's like something changes in you, man,
Starting point is 00:33:44 and you just kind of start fighting and you're really just fighting. You're really just fighting. And I think that's, but to do it, but to do it before is different to me. My intention was to go wrestle him more, but something changed in the fight. Craig, you think that Jamal Hill can knock him out. Listen, I'm, there's a difference. There's a difference. Look, Alex said something about, you know, people.
Starting point is 00:34:10 go into fights and they say they're going to do this and that and I don't do that. Why? Because he's a mixed martial artist. They have that, that aura and that respect in the fight game. Jamal Hill is not a mixed martial artist. He's a fighter. So he's saying I'm going to go stand up and knock him out and all that stuff because he's a fighter. I don't have to respect everything that you're good at. And for me, I look at his last couple of fights and they're all fighting the knights or performance of the night. He's fighting against all. Johnny Walker, he's fighting against his mentor to win the belt. He's not wrestling them cats.
Starting point is 00:34:46 And, you know, and he can wrestle. But he's fighting. He's just wanting to knock people out. He wants to put on the show with Dana White Contender Series like he was, just trying to build up an audience. That's what he wants to do. And I think he looks at Alex like a big, huge mountain. And no one expects him to be his best self against Alex doing what he likes to do,
Starting point is 00:35:08 which is swing them things and knock them. people out so he's going to go out there and try to go out on his shield like the morius he has he's built like that that's what he wants and if he loses he can go back to himself and say i lost like this that's what i personally think and i don't think that alex is going to beat him i think jamaul is gonna knock alix out like a man he did you know i do just always in it like a man like a man like a man they get knocked out on the street like like a man i got knocked out like a man Mo, I think you better get you know the time and you didn't pay up. You forgot.
Starting point is 00:35:45 No, I didn't forget. Hey, so that one Scott shot that I took don't count? If you ain't got no pitch, I ain't don't count. Hey, you put money on Jamal Hill? Me? He better against Alex last fight it would happen. His track record, not the best. I got you guys.
Starting point is 00:36:04 Craig just be jigs of people. You crack be jigs of people. Greg, Drake, though. I'm Drake. Listen. Jamal Hill is freakishly long. He's much longer than you think, like in terms of his arms, his body, his size. He punches from odd angles.
Starting point is 00:36:23 So some of those things can cause real issues for his opponents. I don't know if that would be the approach I would take. And when I see Jamal next, I'll tell him there's probably a little bit of a better way to approach fighting this guy, especially or, hey, maybe he's just playing. playing the game, telling him he's going to stand with him, he's just going to go take him down. You never really know. But what I do know is that when these two dudes get locked in the octagon,
Starting point is 00:36:46 it's going to be so much fun. It's going to be fun. I cannot wait. Guys, next week, we got to talk Kobe Covington versus Leon Edwards. Why does he call him Leon Scott? I don't understand why he does that. I need to do some research that to why he calls Rocky Leon Scott. But I'm going to tell you one thing.
Starting point is 00:37:03 Leon Edwards not wanting to play with, man. If you ever watch a show Top Boy, Leon Edwards got some dudes that he run with, bro. These dudes don't play over there in London, Birmingham or wherever he's from. Guys, every week I love doing this show. I appreciate y'all. I love y'all's opinions.
Starting point is 00:37:19 Nate Diaz, take the 15 mil, bro. Go get paid to fight an amateur. Take it. Al Jermaine Sterling, fight 135. That's my thought. And, Jamal, take this dude down. Don't let your pride lead the way on you, man. especially when Alex be doing all kind of crazy shit
Starting point is 00:37:38 in his takedown defense. Alex be doing some weird stuff trying to defend takedown so it possibly can work. Guys, I'm D.C. That's Craig, Terry, and Jamel. We appreciate you guys watching. The first show was our biggest one. A couple went down.
Starting point is 00:37:52 Last show. Second biggest one. We appreciate y'all coming back around. Till next time, peace. Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends,
