I think it was on a call about what we should call it. Oh, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers. This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes. I have a very different memory of this. We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast where people could call in and say, Hey Jonas.

And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys. our impression when we met him at Super Bowl shorter than you would think stocky but solid. Now I haven't seen him recently but I know he had that reputation which is why I took note because he had a reputation

of being kind of thin. Yeah he is like how you like your women fake with like five C's the same way I like my Seattle's Mariners Big dumpers As Tio said He is fat

He ain't big bone He's about two chicken nuggets Away from tipping the scale Dibo's my guy though I love Dibo So you know You can't disa guy like that And say I love him though

He's my guy It's like yo man Have you seen Rich's hairline I love him though He's my guy My hairline's great So But I'm saying

Oh thanks With all due respect Yeah like saying, hey, man, I'm not, no offense, but, uh, no offense. But that's basically what he did. He's like, yo, Debo's kind of fat, but he's my guy. He didn't say kind of. He goes, he is fat. He ain't big bones. Yeah, and Luca just went through this. Yeah, I mean, there was nothing more humiliating than the narrative around the big trade being it's because Luke is fat. And then they go back to the video of when the Mavs were in the NBA finals and they pulled the beer out of his hand.

But you know what it is, though, too, though, to be fair, T.O. still a specimen. And sort of set what we think is the standard for the ultimate wide receiver, right? I mean, Tio's almost built like a tight end. That's how big he was. But still physique, slender, fast, fit. And Debo doesn't have that type of physique. He just doesn't. He's built like more of a running back.

Debo is like a brick house. Right, exactly. So he just doesn't fit the standard for that position. So he's not fat in comparison to other players in the NFL. He just might be a little stocky for a wide receiver. So think about this. DeBos Samuel, Luca, what triggered you to start your fitness journey? Or if you want to lose a couple pounds or, hey, maybe something got you to quit smoking weed.

Or, yo, I stopped drinking so much because what was the catalyst? I can't remember who, but I remember some celebrity telling the story about how they were living the L.A. party life. and they showed up like pretty drunk and hung over at their niece's birthday party and they're like yeah I knew in that moment it was like I got to cut back on the boozing how about what made you stop smoking cigarettes I remember my uncle freaking out because he couldn't get the yellow off his teeth oh he needed topal yeah and he's like yeah I'm quitting I'm quitting these things yeah no what was the the spark what was the catalyst to help you make that change because we've seen Luca recently like Danny G said he's thin and trim and looking fit.

I mean, everybody was talking about his weight. How about the time they took away the beer from him? That was embarrassing. Right now on NBA Twitter, there's all the side-by-side photos of him showing him how he's lean and mean again right now. Lean and mean. So there's always a catalyst. We have our personal stories.

It might be as simple as seeing a picture of yourself or what you used to look like. I think the taking of the beer away from him actually made him not want to do it, which is why the Mavericks ultimately decided you're gone. and then that ticked them off. They were almost like, are you going to embarrass me like that? Yeah, okay, all right. I'm a cruel man.

You think I'm fat now. Watch this, you know. That's very possible. Like, I'm going to do what I want. You're not going to stop. And then he got traded and I think that changed everything. That definitely changed. By the way, terrible manipulative side note here,

if you want your significant other to lose weight, post pictures of when they used to be skinnier around the house. Or, I mean, that's terrible. Why? I'm kidding. On the fridge. But what you could do is plan a vacation because that usually inspires both parties, right? Yeah, you could exercise together getting ready for the trip.

We had a big convention recently. Yeah. 20 years we celebrated Kavino and Rich. We had this big party in Vegas. You guys heard us talking about it. Yeah. And I know Rich used that as an excuse to use it as a competition amongst friends to lose some weight. Yeah, who's going to trim down more?

Hey, we're going to the beach or vacation. You and your wife may say, hey, we're getting away from the kids. We're going to, you know, Cabo for a long weekend. It was the first time I saw you pass up on pizza, Rich. Dude, it's very rare. You see that. It's also why you got Botox. I did not get Botox.

Yet. Can't ever say I won't. But we had an old intern, and I'll just tell a quick story. Then we'll go to DB. We had an intern. Let's call him Spike. Yeah. Spike.

He was a big fella. Spiky boy. And we had Olivia Munn on the show. and he had the biggest crush on Olivia Munn. I mean, G4 TV back in the day, but now we know her as a super popular actress, dated Aaron Rogers. Olivia Munn's gorgeous.

He took a picture with Olivia Munn. And when he saw it, he was like, oh, my God, that's what I look like. And that started this guy's weight loss journey to really be a better version of himself. Because that's what I... To quote him, and this is the truth, this was his story,

he said when he saw him side by... side with the beautiful Olivia Munn, the contrast of him looking like a monster. That's what he said. He said he looked like an ogre like Shrek or something. He said was the spark he needed to begin this weight loss quest. And he lost like a hundred pounds. So what was it for you? It could have been a health scare.

You know, we want to hear the story. Maybe it's you being criticized by your former, by a former NFL player like T. Yeah. Yo, Debo, you fat. Yeah, exactly. You're in two chicky nuggies shy of being a fatso. All right, Dan Byer, let's get an update. What's going on, man?
