Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an IHeart podcast. Guaranteed Human. Hey guys, it's us. The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe. I'm Kevin. And I'm Nick. And guess what? We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
Starting point is 00:00:12 We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions. Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it. But, you know, tired and sick. Tired and sick.
Starting point is 00:00:26 Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you. you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy. Not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smigel and Friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
Starting point is 00:00:45 This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel. Help an Acapella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and Friends on the ice. Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Winning on Clay is an art.
Starting point is 00:01:05 The rallies are relentless. And at the French Open, only the toughest survive. I'd know. I competed there for decades. Join me, Renee Stubbs, on the Renee Stubbs tennis podcast for no nonsense breakdowns of the biggest matches, the toughest players, and the moments that define Roland Garris. She can win. She's an outsider to win the French fame.
Starting point is 00:01:23 And she likes Clay. Listen, Lina Rubakina is arguably the best player in the world right now. And I actually can win on any service. Listen to the Renee Stubbs tennis podcasts on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports. Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged. It's the enhanced games. Some call it grotesque.
Starting point is 00:01:48 Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast's superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year. Within probably 10 days I'd put on 10 pounds, I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth. Listen to Superhuman on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Michelle McPhee, and I've been unraveling the strangest criminal alliance I've ever reported on. A Mormon polygamist and an Armenian businessman. Multi-million dollar house, Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, a billion dollar fraud. But how long can this alliance last?
Starting point is 00:02:29 Tell me what you know. Is somebody coming after me? Listen to Kingdom of Fraud on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, thanks for listening to the Covino & Rich podcast. Be sure to catch us live every weekday from 5 to 7 Eastern 2 to 4 Pacific on Fox Sports Radio. Find your local station for Covito Enrich at Fox Sports Radio.com or stream us live every day on the IHeartRadio app by searching FSR. Hey, hey, Father's Day.
Starting point is 00:03:04 Father's Day weekend. Shout out to all the fathers. All the good dads out there. Don't go bust in there. Chops this weekend. Let your dad relax. Let him put his feet up and enjoy the game. You get on the grill.
Starting point is 00:03:16 Serve him a burger or something. Let that relax. I'm your father, Larry. Yeah. Just make him a macaroni tie. Give him a hug. Bring him a card. Leave that alone.
Starting point is 00:03:25 Broadcasting live from the Fox Sports Radio Studio. Remember, after the show, the podcast goes up. So if you miss any of today's show, listen to the podcast. Search Covino and Rich wherever you get your podcast. And Danny G. Superproduces the best of the week. That drops tomorrow morning. Be sure to follow, rate and review.
Starting point is 00:03:42 Five stars only. And we be rocking out. Let's go. Oh, oh, oh. I got a dumb question before we get into Tom Brady, before we talk about WMBA or Chipotle worker. We're going to play a game. By the way, you surprised no one brought up Mick Jagger last hour.
Starting point is 00:03:59 Danny G. and Iowa Sam were like, I can't believe it. No one brought up Mick Jagger, cool old guys. Brought up Paul McCartney. I have to say, in older age, Mick Jagger's cooler than McCartney. Jagger's 81. He's got the move. I'll give you one. Stephen Tyler's pretty damn cool.
Starting point is 00:04:16 He's super cool. He wears lots of scars. He's done touring, by the way. You know, dude looks like a lady these days. Yeah, I mean, he does. They all get his feet. He looks like my grandma. They like Lebron's toes.
Starting point is 00:04:25 We did an event. where we got to interview Stephen Tyler. So pleased, and it was our pleasure to interview him. These are an open toe shoes. And I'm like, why would you do that when you got toes that overlap each other? He's what people call what Vato's called Pobresitos. He's 77 years old. Oh, God, God, God, Jesus me.
Starting point is 00:04:43 Yeah, so cool old guys, intribute to Pete Carroll. We wrap that up. The rest of your feedback at Covino and Rich. Before we get to this Tom Brady story, give away some prizes. Random question around the room. I saw that Patrick Mahomes got to hang with Lionel Messi. They did an Adidas commercial together. They did a jersey swap.
Starting point is 00:05:07 They were paling around, bro-hugging. Globally, I would imagine the answer is messy. But do you think here in the United States, in the States, is Mahomes a bigger star than Messi? Or there's so many young kids into soccer that you'd say, even here in the States, Messy State, I'm going, Mahomes. because, I mean, it's America's game.
Starting point is 00:05:28 Nothing bigger than American football in America. Worldwide, there's no comparison whatsoever. If you asked 100 middle school and high school kids, hey kids, but who do you want to come to the school? Would they say Mahomes or messy? Most of them would say Mahomes. I would think so, right? In the U.S.
Starting point is 00:05:46 You could argue other parts of the world. I've never seen a Mahomes jersey out of my grocery store, but I see messy jerseys more than... It's a great point. that. That's why I thought it was an interesting question because my first thought was globally messy. What a big star. And I thought it was a cool moment that they didn't add together for Adidas, the jersey swap, brohugging. And I thought, well, here in the States, my homes, I'm like, you know what, maybe not even. Because we love football and baseball and
Starting point is 00:06:15 basketball. I feel like the younger generation puts soccer sort of in that category. There's no doubt, but there's way more Americans watching American football than soccer here in this country. No doubt. Rating's proven. but there's just no doubt. There's no denying that. So just based on that, and the more and more it becomes an international game. But I do think, I actually disagree with Dan Byer, believe it or not. I actually do.
Starting point is 00:06:41 I think in America, Mahomes, what would you say? I mean, just let me have America. He has the rest of the world, you know? He has the rest of the world. Messy, there's no denying. He is a mammoth outside of America, even in America. but I think my home still edges them out here. Can I just give you...
Starting point is 00:06:59 Because of the popularity of American people. But what about if you're under 21? Ooh. Okay. That's just the only point that I'm thinking of, like, the youth of America. We all love football. Yeah. Football is like our favorite.
Starting point is 00:07:13 And I think that there's a lot of people like us. It's a good debate for sure. I'll tell you what. We had the honor of interviewing David Beckham. We had to sit down with him when we used to work at ESPN. and when I tell you the vibe in the building when David Beckham came in was like nothing I've ever seen. Like, I mean, like security from coworkers to everyone.
Starting point is 00:07:36 Those big international. And we never felt uglier in our lives. That's true. Yeah, what a stud. I was like, man, what a handsome fella. But let me give you one comparison before we move on. I know social media is not everything. But Patrick Mahomes has 6.7 million followers on Instagram.
Starting point is 00:07:54 Messi has 505 million. Can I give you those two numbers again? Six million versus 505 million followers on Instagram. Yeah, internationally insane. I just Googled just the meetup, and I saw the picture as well. Arrowhead addict, so this is a Chiefs fan blog. The title says Patrick Mahomes finally meets an athlete more popular than him. Oh.
Starting point is 00:08:18 But this may be worldwide. To your point, like worldwide, there's no doubt about it. But I think it's interesting when you talk about the U.S. what the actual split would be. Yeah. Like, I mean, Danny, your boys that are your sons that are in college, whether they 20, 22 years old, right? Would they be more pumped?
Starting point is 00:08:37 They're football guys, though, right? They don't give a, you know what, about soccer. Yeah, so, but they buyer. They watch more NHL than they do soccer. I love DB's point, though, of 21 and under 21. If I said a bunch of little kids, listen, when I was a kid growing up, I played Little League baseball.
Starting point is 00:08:51 I played basketball. I never played soccer. Where I grew up, soccer was sort of like, man. Yeah, soccer was something they played like in elementary school, and one of them in middle school. But then after that, they, like, moved on to NFL. Can I say something and not offend people? Probably not.
Starting point is 00:09:07 But go ahead. Where I grew up, nerds played soccer. Here we go. When I was a little boy. When I was a little. You also grew up with like no people of color really either. I played soccer. Yeah, I played soccer.
Starting point is 00:09:19 Okay, that didn't help the argument. Point proven. Whitey. I mean, I play soccer. First sport I played. But in conclusion, Rich, point proven. Chat GPD says, in conclusion,
Starting point is 00:09:29 while Patrick LaHolmes remains a prominent figure in American sports, Leon L. Messi's recent achievements and influence have made him the more popular athlete in the U.S. at this time. So what robot said? That's what Chat GPD said. So maybe Dan Byers on something. You wasted eight liters of water on that? Yeah, I guess so.
Starting point is 00:09:49 I just didn't think it was as obvious. I don't know which way it is, but I don't think it's the landslide that it appeared to be. It says as of mid-2020-Messie surpassed Patrick Mahomes in popularity among American sports fans. Wow. Maybe because Mahomes lost, right? Messy's a global superstar.
Starting point is 00:10:10 Wow. Social media. If we did a nationwide poll, I bet you it would be really close. It would be split probably. No, it's interesting. I've seen Mahomes play in, person. I've been to a Chiefs game. Well, it says, hold on. It says,
Starting point is 00:10:22 Messi's moved to Inter Miami in 2023 significantly boosted his profile in the U.S. And he was the first soccer player to be named America's favorite professional athletes surpassing legends like Jordan, LeBron, and Mahomes. So his popularity is continuing to surge. I was going to say, I've seen Mahomes playing in person. And when Messi came here to the States and
Starting point is 00:10:44 Inter Miami played LAFC. see we went to the game and it was an event. It was awesome. I remember you said, we're going to go all the time now. Yeah, it was the first and last. How do you top it? You can't top it. Yeah, we had a great time.
Starting point is 00:11:02 That's true. So, hey, I feel like it's Mahomes, but yeah, it's probably messy based on everything we just discovered together. So, hey, Dan, I think you were right. If Chat GPT says so, it has to be. Yeah, it has to be. I know. Maybe you're becoming a buyer guy.
Starting point is 00:11:18 I'm not sure. Maybe. All right. Now, I think there's an easy answer to this question, but we'll throw it out there, see how you feel about it. And again, we'll come to conclusion together. What's a bigger honor?
Starting point is 00:11:32 A statue? Or a street name? What's a bigger honor? It's a great question because Tom Brady is having a statue erected. I said erected. Outside of Foxborough. He's that erected. We've seen the amazing Kobe statues,
Starting point is 00:11:47 Magic Johnson, some of the ones outside of staple. Some of them don't look so amazing. And that's the thing too. Sometimes statues don't miss. They miss the mark a lot of times lately. This is a 12-foot statute that came to be. Craft decided this has to happen. So it's six times bigger than AIs. Yeah, yeah, yes.
Starting point is 00:12:04 Yeah. And you know what? Speaking of soccer stars, we've all seen how bad a statue could turn out a la Ronaldo. Remember the whack-ass Ronaldo statue? In Dwayne Wade. Dwayne Wade's was not good. but then you say well
Starting point is 00:12:18 we thought of street sign because Danny gee you brought this up I said well what's a bigger honor if you get a statue unless you do some terrible stuff that statue will forever live on outside that arena that town square that federal building
Starting point is 00:12:34 like if you're a politician a president an athlete a famous person that statue will live thousands of years after you we just saw Travis Barker get a street named after him in his hometown of Fontana, California.
Starting point is 00:12:50 And you know what? When I went to the Dodgers game a couple weeks ago to see the Mets lose again because I'd never go when they win. Make a right on Vince Scully Way. And I'm like, Vince Scully Way. Doesn't Fernando have one too? What an honor. Doesn't Venezuela have one?
Starting point is 00:13:04 Check on that. I think Fernando Valenzuela has one. Tom Brady statue will be erected outside Gillette Stadium ahead of their first preseason game in August. And they're going to do a whole ceremony to promote. out the 12-foot tribute. And it is quite the honor. Crafts said that
Starting point is 00:13:22 the statue would perpetuate the legendary legacy of this once-in-a-lifetime player. So based on that, we posed a question and I think the answer is obviously the statue because, I mean, you go back just into ancient times. That's how they...
Starting point is 00:13:38 Yeah. That's how they immortalized their heroes and legends and leaders. And if you're able to do that in today's world with a bronze, a 12-foot bronze statue of Tom Brady. I think that says a lot about his legacy in years to come and it lives on. And a street name, it always takes me back to the Chris Rock bit of anywhere in a country. If you're on Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard, run!
Starting point is 00:14:03 Run! I'm on Dr. Martin Luther King! Because it's supposed to be an honor and it's a tribute. But, like, you don't know what goes on on that street. It's not necessarily, it's not good things all the time. I think there's a tier system. and it starts with, oh, you're in the ring of honor or the team retires your number.
Starting point is 00:14:20 Then after that, it's, I think, Hall of Fame. And then I think after that, statue. You got dogs tinkling on your street pole and bad things going on on that street. But I still think. And there are people that aren't even like the greatest dudes that have... What about the city?
Starting point is 00:14:37 Key to the city? That means nothing to me. I don't even know what that means. What does that even mean? Does it open anything? If you want to go to Dungan Donuts late at night It will open up It unlocks a bathroom at the Chevron
Starting point is 00:14:49 The key to the city But I think that I think I mean I could be wrong I think the street name Is the ultimate honor Where it's very cool But it's not It doesn't beat the statue
Starting point is 00:15:02 I don't think so Can I just say that there is something cool About writing an address And that person's name is in the address And it's like a part of the U.S. mail system I mean that's like forever That is cool Eva, ever.
Starting point is 00:15:14 I agree with the statues bigger. Neither are really forever. Everything has an expiration date as we already established this week, right? So the statue could come down one day. They could rebuild another stadium somewhere else. Someone vandalizes it. And they could rename a street too. They could always rename a street, is my point.
Starting point is 00:15:32 Because in New York spot, our old stomping grounds, remember the Kaziosko bridge? Isn't that like RFK now? You could rename bridges and streets and all that. Usually after they honor somebody, though, they leave that alone. They should. Yeah. Unless, of course, that person does something terrible.
Starting point is 00:15:49 There is one side of the statue argument, Covina. There's people who say there are way too many outside of Staples Center, whereas it's few and far in between when you have an actual street named after you. So what do you think? I think the statue is the ultimate honor. I really do. 87799 on Fox. Some say the street name. I have a question.
Starting point is 00:16:10 Why did Chevy Chase got a street named after him? I hear he's not the nicest guy, and he's a star, but isn't there like a Chevy Chase Street out here somewhere? There is Glendale, California. How do he get that? Well, he, that's not his real name. He took that name, I think, from Chevy Chase, Maryland? Is it the name of the... Correct.
Starting point is 00:16:28 Oh, so it's not named after the Chevy Chase? So in Hollywood, when there's a Chevy Chase Street, that's not like National Lampoon's vacation, Fletch Chevy Chase? I don't know there was one. Is there one? Yeah, because I always remember thinking, like, how did he get a... Street. Well, I guess maybe it's... I just looked it up.
Starting point is 00:16:45 It says it's named after Chevy Chase Estates, a housing development established in the 1920s. In Maryland? No. There's a Chevy Chase. Oh, okay. But his real name is Cornelius. Cornelius Chase. I think the only thing, the only edge that a street name has...
Starting point is 00:17:02 I'm stuck with that. The only edge that the street name has is the fact that the statue could come out weak. And therefore, it takes away from the honor. Rinaldos. Like the Dwayne Wade story most recently. Yeah, that was cool, kind of, not really. Yeah, and one of the Kobe's. Remember the long neck, the arm too long?
Starting point is 00:17:21 Yeah, but if it's a nice one, then I think, yeah, that holds more weight. It's just the risk of it. Lucille Ball had a famously bad one. We've talked about this before. We don't need to reiterate, but I do think Tom Brady, I think statues should be held for guys like Tom Brady. Or how about it, like a stadium named after? to you. That's kind of dope. Or an award or a trophy. Is there something that beats the statue or the street name that we're not thinking of?
Starting point is 00:17:48 But when you just said the statue, right, we're thinking about Tom Brady. I think a statue does need to be reserved for a Michael Jordan, a Tom Brady, like a generational, not like this guy was the best guy on our team. I mean, no offense to Dwayne Wade. I love Dwayne Wade. I think he was a great player, brought the Miami Heat to an NBA title. But do you think Dwayne Wade? Does there's a statue? but maybe you're thinking it's getting watered down like not everyone deserves one but see then
Starting point is 00:18:18 then i think i said like a jerk is dwayne way i'm sure is a great guy and everyone in miami would be like yeah i give him a statue to me statute it's like you're right it's like you know george washington has a statue like to me you know our very own rob parker came in really proud one day and i'm proud to say it's coming is it common knowledge it oh he's having let's just say he's having something named after him not give it away and i think that's coming of it's coming i think that's pretty cool if someone names something after you. A strip club. The name in the strip club after me.
Starting point is 00:18:48 It's a strip pole. It's no longer Spearmint Rhino. It's Spearmint Parker. At the Parker booth. So, you know, there's other honors that holds some weight. Might be statue. You know what? Your thoughts will take your feedback.
Starting point is 00:19:06 Dan Byer, any final thoughts on this? I think it's street. No doubt about it. I am not. A statue is two sports related. You put it within the city of Go down two blocks, take a left on Danny G Street Like that's amazing
Starting point is 00:19:20 To go to go see the statue Like you're going to the stadium You're a sports fan To be a part of the city and the community Yeah I gotta go street name guys You know what I always find interesting Dan Byer being that I'm such a fan of history
Starting point is 00:19:37 I love watching Kavino's shows on the history channel And I actually do find a lot of interest in not only sports history, but just American history, because it really is only a couple hundred years. Like, we forget, our, our country's like three old people old. Like, we're only a few hundred years old. Remember that story from a couple
Starting point is 00:19:55 weeks ago about the man who died in his 90s, whose grandfather was born in the 1790s? It's like John Tyler's. Or, yeah, grandson or something. Yes, John Tyler's grandson, because the men had children at, like, 70, 80 years old. It is insane to think our country's
Starting point is 00:20:11 that young. But when I first moved out to to California, we're in Sherman Oaks. When you think of all the street names and the town, Sherman Oaks, Ventura, Encino, these things are all named after people that made an impact. And to me, that's the highest honor. And just a fun fact, it is true. When you go down the 101 here in Los Angeles, when you pass Balboa, that is how Rocky Stallone came up with the name.
Starting point is 00:20:37 He was trying to think of a name for the character, Rocky, and he was driving down as like, oh, Balbo. Yeah, I'm Rocky Balbo. By the way, this is another instance. Very rare where Dan Byer and I disagree. So we'll let Chatchip-T. Stop it. Make the final conclusion.
Starting point is 00:20:52 The statue, the statue is, the statue is typically considered the greater personal honor due to a symbolic weight, permanence, and selective nature of who gets one. Street naming is still significant, but you could sometimes be more, but it can sometimes be more about publicly, public utility than legacy alone.
Starting point is 00:21:13 So if you're aiming for lasting legacy in admiration, the statue wins. Dan Byer, don't you love how Kavino trusts a computer, a robot over you now? Is that the new thing? It's artificial intelligence. Yeah, Kivino just wanted to get even.
Starting point is 00:21:26 That's all, with the whole messy argument. That's truly what it was. You're going to debate this alien intelligence? I just wanted to see, you know, this is a fun debate. It really is. How many non-Patriots fans are going to show up to the Tom Brady statue? Correct. How many non-patriots fans are going to show up to the Tom Brady statue?
Starting point is 00:21:40 are going to drive on Tom Brady Street. See? Well, if you're Tom Brady, you probably get both eventually, right? I'm sure. Make a right on buyer, then a left. Yeah, see, that sounds good. Bob, you're on. Camino's a dead end.
Starting point is 00:21:52 Camino's a dead end. Buyer's a sweet cul-de-sac. Camino's a dead end. What's up, Bob? What's up, Bob in Texas? What? Me and ChatGBT are the only guys that think statue? Hold on, Bob, I'm going to sit back, because you can list all the things.
Starting point is 00:22:12 You can list all the things. I think what's wrong about. But look at all of the statues that have magically disappeared. You have to go through zoning in the U.S. post office to get a street name change. It's more permanent. And it's more effective. And as buyer said, people are going to drive down Tom Brady Way more than they'll ever see Tom Brady statue. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:34 And I thought about this. Again, like I said, when I went to the Dodgers game and your GPS is like, make a right on Vin Scully Way or drive. Like, man, legend that deserves. That's a type of, you know, that's a type of guy in name, right? Like forever now, Kavino. Well, the Dodgers will be somehow tied to make a turn on Vince Scully. What says you, your thoughts.
Starting point is 00:22:58 We'll wrap it up with your phone calls next. And we're giving away prizes, all right? So either way, be dialing. 87799 on Fox. That's the number. It's Father's Day weekend. We want to give away some swiggies. All you have to do is not be in last place when we,
Starting point is 00:23:13 play because Caitlin Clark is back tomorrow? Yeah. Chippotle worker or WNBA player. I can't wait. We do that all next right here on Fox Sports Radio. From searching online to asking your friends and family, hey, lots of ways to look for jobs,

Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers, and guess what? We have some big news.
Starting point is 00:24:22 What's the news, name? Huge news. We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to a... We're the first people to do podcasts. Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts.
Starting point is 00:24:34 We're starting a trend. But this one's extra special. So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it. And we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers. This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes.
Starting point is 00:24:56 I have a very different memory of this. We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, people could call in and say, hey, Jonas. And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you
Starting point is 00:25:29 funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel, help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and Friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The French Open is one of the toughest tests in tennis, and I know firsthand because I competed there myself. I'm Renee Stubbs, and on the Renee Stubbs Tennis podcast, I'm breaking down everything happening at Roland Garris. Every match, every upset, and what it really takes to win on clay. Jen Chinchin win.
Starting point is 00:26:07 I mean, she went down in three to Rovachina, but I'm delighted. She's an outsider to win the French for me. And she likes Clay. Listen, Lernerabakina is arguably the best player in the world right now and I actually can win on any surface. Because if she's serving, well, good luck. Consider this your court side seat to the French Open. Listen to the Renee Stubbs tennis podcast on the IHeart Radio app,

Starting point is 00:29:58 I can't believe how many people think that the street sign holds more weight than the statute. The statue looks like you. That's you. Had your name on it. It's there. I asked Rob G. Producer of the odd couple and he would, no hesitation. He's like, street side.
Starting point is 00:30:12 Street sign. People steal it. Street name. People commit crime on that street. Like I said, help. I'm on Dr. Martin Luther King anywhere in the country. If you're in Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard, it's a great Chris Rockbitt.
Starting point is 00:30:26 Yeah, so, I mean, the street is cool. They're both cool. Which one holds more weight? Hey, think about it. Let us know at Covino Enrich at Fox Sports Radio. Congrats again to Tom Brady, who's getting that 12 foot statue as a patriot. But now it's time to play.

Starting point is 00:31:18 We're going to get our contestant. Cody in Virginia. What up? Cody. Hey, man. How are you guys doing? Good. This is a simple game.
Starting point is 00:31:26 Danny, he will explain it. Cody, really quick, what do you do for work there in Virginia? Cody? Oh, no. He's having testical difficulties. What do you do for a living? I look at sterile processing at the hospital. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:31:43 Okay. All right. All right, all you got to do is not. come in last place, Cody. So as long as you don't stink as bad as the rest of the crew, you're going to walk away with a swiggy. You're going up against Covino. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:53 Rich. Blier. Spotty. Samuel L. Johnson. And all you got to do is tell us is this name I give you, Chipotle worker or WNBA player. All right, Covino, you're going to be up first. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:32:06 First name. Rebecca Allen. Oh, that's such a WMBA player. Rich. She's making that new Chipotle chicken. I'm going Chipotle. Buyer. Chipotle.
Starting point is 00:32:20 Spotty. I'm going to go with Chipotle. Sam. WNBA. Cody. Chipotle. Rebecca Allen is a 6-2 forward for the Chicago Sky. Come on, man.
Starting point is 00:32:34 Come on. Come on, man. All right. Covino, Chipotle worker or WNBA player? Kara Doucette. Kara Ducet works at Chippley Rich Sounds like someone that should be on like the Minnesota links
Starting point is 00:32:49 Is that a team? Yeah, yeah, yeah. They're one of the best teams right now. Byer, Chipotle, Spotty. Yeah, I think you're trying to confuse it. What was it? Is it Darrell Ducet? Kara, do set.
Starting point is 00:33:00 I see what you, yeah. I think you're trying to confuse me. I'm going Chipotle. Sam. That's the flag football quarterback. Yeah. I'm going to go WNBA. Cody.
Starting point is 00:33:10 Yeah, I got a roll W. next to Chipotle. You're going to say Chipotle. Kara Doucette, indeed, is a senior manager for Chipotle in California. Unstoppable this game. All right. Next name for your consideration. Brea Hartley.
Starting point is 00:33:26 Brea Hartley is in the WNBA. Rich. Sounds hot. Brea Hartley. WMBA. You'll be your fan, Justin Harley. Byers. Chipotle.
Starting point is 00:33:37 Spotty. Definitely Chipotle. I think it's a dupe. Sam. Women's National Basketball Association. Cody. Come on. WBA.
Starting point is 00:33:46 Brea Hartley is a 5-9 guard for the Connecticut son. All right. Chipotle worker or WNBA player. Covino, the next name here. Elizabeth Kittley. Elizabeth Kittley is stingy with the guanq, Chipotle worker. Rich.
Starting point is 00:34:03 Elizabeth Kittley is stingy with scoring points in the WMBA. Buyer. Chipotle. Spotty. I'm going to ride with Cavito because he seems to be doing well. So Chapolte. Sam. Yeah, give me Chapulte. And Cody.
Starting point is 00:34:19 WBA. Elizabeth Kittley is a 6-6-6 center for the Las Vegas Aces. You led me astray. How dare you? All right. Next name here. Covino. Chipotle worker or WNBA player, Katrina Jones. Oh, come on. This is a trick question. This is a trick question.
Starting point is 00:34:37 But I'm saying WNBA. Rich. Katrina Jones. Come on. A little more chicken. It's a $15 ball. Buyer. Chipotle. Spotty.
Starting point is 00:34:47 Chapolet. Sam. WNBA. Cody. Chipotle. Katrina Jones is a GM for Chipotle in North Carolina. Yeah. That she is.
Starting point is 00:34:57 All right. Covino. Next name here. Chipotle worker or WNBA player. Brittany Branch. Brittany Branch, WNBA. Rich. Brittany Branch sounds like an athlete.
Starting point is 00:35:08 That's why I think I'm going the opposite. I'm going, uh, I'm going, uh, I'm going, Chapoile again. I see what you did there. Byer. Chipotle. Spotty. W.N.B. Samuel L. Johnson. She's a branch manager for a Chipotle in Warren, Ohio. Okay.
Starting point is 00:35:22 Cody, you took it too far. Cody. Chipotle. Brittany Branch is a crew member for Chipotle in Ohio. In Ohio. How did you get that right? I don't know. Ohio is just the backdrop. Is this a favorite? Default state, I name. All right, Covino.
Starting point is 00:35:40 Chipotle worker, WNBA player, Erica Wheeler. Chipotle. Double Talk, Davis. Yes, see. She's on the New York Liberty, WMBA. Byer. WMBA. Spotty.
Starting point is 00:35:59 Chipotle. Sam. I'm very confident she's in the WMBA. Cody. WNBA. Erica Wheeler is a 5-7 guard for the Seattle Storm. There you go. Yes.
Starting point is 00:36:10 All right. And one more name here. Last but not least, Covino, Chipotle worker or WNBA player, Artesia Martin. Chipotle. Rich. I'm going to go to him. Artija Martin is a Chipotle worker. Byer.
Starting point is 00:36:25 Chipotle. Spotty. I'll stick with it, Chipotle. Samuel. Chipotle. Cody. I guess I'll roll with Chipotle. I think you're all on to something with Artesia Martin.
Starting point is 00:36:34 She's a server for Chipotle in Florida. Yeah. By the way, speaking of Chipotle, they're dressing. Have you ever had the dressing? Yes. Oh, it's so good. If you get a burrito bowl, you get a burrito bowl, you ask for a side of that dressing. You know what they changed it, though?
Starting point is 00:36:49 They did change it. It's very greasy. It's so good, though. All right, now, Spotty, it's his job to tabulate. Where's my tally sounds? Yeah. Sam, thank you. As long as Cody and Virginia didn't come in last place, he's going to win.
Starting point is 00:37:07 I'll start with second to last place. And that would be Mr. Steve Kavino, who started out strong. Man, I really fell off. I really fell off at the end. I was in a zone. In third to last place, or I guess that would be third. Yeah, yeah, right.
Starting point is 00:37:22 That would be a tie for Mr. Dan Byer and Iowa, Sam. All right. In second place, Mr. Rich Davis. Yeah, I missed the first two, then I got six in a row. Right, and in last place
Starting point is 00:37:36 would be none other than myself. I did horrible at this game. So in first place, Cody. Wow, strong. One. With a total of seven. He came in first. You got to throw some coosies in there.
Starting point is 00:37:47 Yeah, he gets coosies. You got to give him a little extra. Yeah, Cody, we're going to get that package off to Virginia for you. Thank you guys so much, man. Love you. Love the show. Thank you. Have a great weekend.
Starting point is 00:37:58 That's awesome. So not only did he not coming last. He came in first. So he gets to Swiggy and some coosies. And hey, nothing says happy Father's Day weekend. Like a victory here on the show. Nothing says happy. Nothing says happy WMBA with the return of Caitlin Clark this weekend.
Starting point is 00:38:14 So something to watch out for. All right. Thank you, everyone, for playing. Let's go to Dan Byer. Let's get an update as we get into the weekend. DB. What up, D.B.? Guys, wrapping up the second round of the U.S. Open, projected cut line, according to the broadcast, has now moved to plus six.
Starting point is 00:38:30 There's a reason that that is important because that could be the difference on if we see Rory McElroy this weekend. Yes, the master's winner who completed the Career Grand Slam earlier this year is currently at 7 over power through 16. television broadcast is saying plus six. The scoring on the official U.S. Open website is saying plus seven. So something to watch here. Right now, Bryson DeShambo, likely not going to make the weekend. He's at plus 10. Ludwig Oberg is not going to play.
Starting point is 00:38:57 He just finished and is at plus eight. Now, Sam Burns is your leader after shooting 65 today. He's at three under par. One shot better than J.J. Spawn, your first round leader, who's at two under par. Victor Hovlin is two back at minus one. As for Burns, his round of six. 65 is the third lowest round ever at Oakmont in a U.S. Open.
Starting point is 00:39:17 Now, some notable names, including Scotty Sheffler, John Rahman, Colin Moracawa, will play the weekend. They played earlier today and are at plus four. Phil Mickelson right now teetering on that cut line. He's at plus six through 15 holes. Thunder, Pacers, Indianapolis tonight, 8.30 Eastern time in game four of the NBA finals. Nuggets guard Russell Westbrooks expected to decline the option on his contract, according to ESPN and become a free agent.
Starting point is 00:39:41 Pirates beat the Cubs today. U.S. 1 in 10, College World Series, Coastal Carolina, a winner against Arizona in Omaha's play open today, 7 to 4. And some WMBA news, you guys mentioned Caitlin Clark returning tomorrow against the Liberty for the fever. Asia Wilson out tonight for the aces against the wings as she's in concussion protocol. Guys, back to you. Dan, thank you, Dan. Have a great Father's Day weekend. You too as well, folks.
Starting point is 00:40:05 Thank you. Did Brody get you a little mug that says number one dad? Because I'm the number one dad, right? I'm world's greatest. Yes, you have the greatest dad. That's the entire world. Oh, wow. Yes, it's the whole world.
Starting point is 00:40:17 That's better than a street sign I hear. All right. Thanks, Dan Byer. All right, listen, coming up next, we got weekend hobnob and what to watch in the world of sports and entertainment this weekend. A lot to check out, to be honest. So we'll get to it all next.
Starting point is 00:40:30 Right here, Kavino and Rich. Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers. And guess what? We have some big news. What's the news, huge news? We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas. We invented a podcast?
Starting point is 00:40:43 Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to a... We're the first people to do podcasts. Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there. But this one's extra special. So how did we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Starting point is 00:41:00 Oh, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers. This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes. I have a very different memory of this. We were talking about a thing. a bit for the podcast where people could call in and say, Hey, Jonas. And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
Starting point is 00:41:24 But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Another podcast from some SNL, late night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smigel and Friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman helped make you funny. This week, my guest, S&L's Mikey Day and headwriter, Streeter Seidel, help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Starting point is 00:41:52 Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and friends on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The French Open is one of the toughest tests in tennis, and I know firsthand because I competed there myself. I'm Renee Stubbs, and on the Renee Stubbs Tennis podcast,
Starting point is 00:42:14 I'm breaking down everything happening at Roland Garris. Every match, every upset, and what it really takes to win on Clay. Jenchian win. I mean, she went down at three to Rabakina, but I'm delighted. She's an outsider to win the French for me. And she likes Clay. Listen, Lennar Rabakina is arguably the best player in the world right now, and I actually can win on any surface.
Starting point is 00:42:36 Because if she's serving, well, good luck. Consider this your courtside seat to the French Open. Listen to the Renee Stubbs Tennis podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports. Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged. It's the enhanced games. Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Starting point is 00:43:03 Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year. Within probably 10 days I'd put on 10 pounds, I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth. Listen to Superhuman on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. While Express helps people in all industries find work, our sweet spot as logistics roles.
Starting point is 00:44:27 And Express never charges job seekers a fee. Go to ExpressPros.com. And now is time for our Express Pros Pro of the week. And the winner is. Denzel Clark of the A's. Yeah. Man, he's been in the Biggs for three weeks, and he's been making circus catches
Starting point is 00:44:49 and the highlights every night in that robbery. We established this week it was the greatest home run robbery we've ever seen against the Angels this week. And again, that's just one of many great catches he's made in three weeks. Call me crazy. If it doesn't work out with the A's, he could be a Savannah Banana. I mean, insane. No, seriously.
Starting point is 00:45:07 I mean, the guy is a ridiculous defensive player. And not just the catch. everything about it. The sort of mid-air pirouetti did over the wall, a little swoopty-dupe. And the way he landed it and growled. Is that the official term? Swoop-dy-du?
Starting point is 00:45:22 Yeah, I name that this week. And not only that, he's had other great catches. And again, Danny, like you said, only three weeks, right? In the bigs? I guess four now, but yeah, just got called up. You know, I'll give a backup. Can't give a backup, though. Pete Alonzo, the guy's been ripping it up.
Starting point is 00:45:36 He's been a beast. And Soto's had a nice week, too. But Denzel Clark, when you think about who we talked about the most this week, you know, he was a big headline for most of the week. And not just being a prisoner of the moment. We established that that catch is right up there as far as a home run robbery. It's got to be top one, too. For real. So congrats again to Denzel Clark of the A's.
Starting point is 00:45:56 He's your Express Pros Pro of the Week. Your boy, Aaron Judge, is. He's climbing. He's leading the league in batting, 392. Now, if he were to get, he's second to Raleigh at home runs. Oh, well, you gave my answer. So there you go. I know.
Starting point is 00:46:11 Raleigh second to who in RBI? Pete Alonzo. Oh, in MLB. Yeah. So Raleigh would be what stands in the way of an AL MVP triple crown if it would be the case. That's how dominant Aaron judge has been. But somehow Pete Alonzo has 63 ribbies as of right now. All right, it's time for some weekend hobnobbing.
Starting point is 00:46:32 Living for the weekend. Your winning bets for talk. Talking points if you get stuck socializing. You ever done anything dangerous? You ever dance with the devil and the pale moonlight? That is dangerous. Friday brings us. We can hobnob.
Starting point is 00:46:46 All right. Of course there's great basketball and hockey, but I'm kicking it off with UFC fight night. Usman Buckley, Namibunis, Maverick. Enjoy some UFC this weekend. On HBO Max, not the Hulu one that Rich keeps talking about. On HBO Max,
Starting point is 00:47:05 It's a documentary about Sherry Pippini of Reading, California, the woman that they said fake their own kidnapping. This is the story from her side. Her side of the story, she tells you what happened in those 22 days she went missing. It's called Caught and Alive. Sherry Papini, worth the watch. I'm going to finish that. So far, so good.
Starting point is 00:47:25 Yankees, Red Sox, let's go. You know, it's a dying rivalry, but I feel like it's coming back. When you think Yankee rivalries now, it's the Mets, it's the Dodgers. But the Red Sox one is heating up again. Plus he got the young star, Anthony, on that team. And I'm going to be tuning into that. And overpromised episode 96. That's our bonus podcast.
Starting point is 00:47:46 We want you to check that out on Fox Sports Radio's YouTube page. We talk about wasted talent, saddest thing in life, wasted talent in sports in life, plus the party information, because we're broadcasting live from Vegas next Friday. And great father, son, moments in sports for Father's Day weekend. That's overpromised with Kavino and Rich. on Fox Sports Radio's YouTube page.
Starting point is 00:48:06 Now, you know, I always think that the best shows are on Apple TV, TV, because Danny G., would you agree for the most part? They are. Apple TV brings it? Yeah. There's like 10 shows that you have to watch from that streaming service. The latest might be Stick. Owen Wilson, you know, essentially washed up. Is it the story of Gene Michael?
Starting point is 00:48:23 Washed up golfer, finds a young kid, and it seems like a dark comedy. It's funny. It's emotional. I watch one episode. I'm sort of pulled in, so Stick is great. And if you watch tires with change. Gillis on Netflix. I thought season one was good. What was the, what was that? Because you're just one of those guys that everything you have is a bad boy. Like just because you have Apple TV,
Starting point is 00:48:44 think everything's great on it. Well, this is on Netflix, dummy. Yeah, well, I don't like him either. You know like Shane Gillis? He's right. I think he's really funny. And John Lovitz, who we mentioned before, he's a big part of season two. A lot of funny cameos. And season two, so far from me, way better than season one. So tires, very funny. There's a lot of great rando documentaries check out. There's one about this cocaine plane. Have you seen this? There's a cocaine plane documentary. No, but I saw the guy that survived
Starting point is 00:49:16 in C-11A in that plane crash. Oh, my God. It's called cocaine air smugglers at 30,000 feet. That looks awesome. And I'll give you one more. Taraji P. Henson, who I think is great. She's in a movie called Straw. On Netflix, that looks really emotional and action-packed. Looks corny.
Starting point is 00:49:35 You think it looks corny? It does look corny from the trailer. Oh, thanks, Danny. What you got, buddy? Oh, and by the way, in the theaters, how to train a dragon live action. Yeah, every time that commercial comes on, it goes nuts.
Starting point is 00:49:48 I've been telling you guys now since last weekend when I finished it, this Dale Earnhardt documentary, it's a docu-series, four parts. I heard it's a tear-jurker. Dude, 10 out of 10. It is an in-depth look at his life, his son's life, step-mom is a big part of it, And we talked about this topic yesterday, Rich, balancing a professional sports career with personal relationships.
Starting point is 00:50:11 Yeah. And I'm serious by the time he gets into that crash, which by the way, played out like a movie with all this real footage and everything from NASCAR. What an amazing story. And I didn't know a lot about this because I wasn't watching racing as a kid or anything. But you don't even have to be a race car fan. Watch it. It's on Prime. Amazon Prime.
Starting point is 00:50:31 Earnhardt, four parts. you're going to love it. So no one watching me on the history channel? Hazardous history. Henry Winkler? I'll watch for Henry Winkler. Sunday night. I'll watch for Henry Winkler. Sunday night, 910 Central. Man, I see where you guys stand. But I waited to see if anyone would say me on the history channel this weekend. Kivino on the history channel. Sunday night. New Henry Winkler show. What else you got, Danny? Just of course, NBA finals and hockey. NHL Stanley Cup. All right. Enjoy your finals. And thank you guys for enjoying this show. Catch me Sunday night.
Starting point is 00:51:01 History Channel and here on Fox Sports Radio. Until then. Arriba there, see you in the Promise Land. Happy Father's Day. Happy Father's Day. Hey guys, it's us. The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe. I'm Kevin.
Starting point is 00:51:19 And I'm Nick. And guess what? We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Starting point is 00:51:34 Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it. But, you know, tired and sick. tired and sick listen to hey jonas on the iheart radio app apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcast just listen we don't care where you hear it another podcast from some s nl late night comedy guy not quite unhumored me with robert smigle and friends me and hilarious guests from bob odin kirk to davidler letterman help make you funnier this week my guest s n l's mikey day and head writer streeter sidel help an a cappella band with their between songs banter where does your group perform we do some retirement homes Those people are starving for banter.
