This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Hey, guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
And guess what?
We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
But, you know, tired and sick.
Tired and sick.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you.
you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel
and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you
funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel. Help an
a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some
retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and
friends on the ice.

I'm Michelle McPhee, and I've been unraveling the strangest criminal alliance I've ever
reported on, a Mormon polygamist and an Armenian businessman.
Multi-million dollar house, Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, a billion dollar fraud.
But how long can this alliance last?
Tell me what you know. Is somebody coming after me?

Winning on Clay is an art.
The rallies are relentless.
And at the French Open, only the toughest survive.
I'd know.
I competed there for decades.
Join me, Renee Stubbs, on the Renee Stubbs tennis podcast for no nonsense breakdowns of the biggest

Thank you for enjoying.
Thank you for putting up with us.
We got Shaq Diesel trivia this hour, giving away prizes.
Multiple choice.
Keeping it easy, breezy.
So Shaq Diesel will be here.
Broke Shaq, Wack Diesel.
Stick around for that.
And now we're talking Tom Tibado.
Tibadoo.
Your thoughts.
First, we rock out.
Let's go.
Broadcasting live from the Fox Sports Radio studio, you know that.
And if you want to play Shaq Diesel trivia, if you want to get a head start,
87799 on Fox.
But there's angles.
here, buddy boy. It's not
cut and dry. Like, how could
they ever get rid of
Tom Tibidoo? I call
him Tibidoo. You call him Tibidoo.
Didn't our very own Rob Parker
going to rant the other day? Oh, he did.
It was a nice battle.
And everyone here at Fox Sports Radio said,
yo, it's one of Rob's crazy takes
because he was saying... Rob was saying that
once they beat the Celtics,
new slate, clean slate,
there on in. Expectations changed.
Now they're expected to win.
They're expected to go all the way.
Carl Anthony Towns, they made lots of moves.
It's a failure of a season.
Fired Tibado.
Because if you didn't win and you couldn't beat the Pacers
who nobody talked about all year,
then what are we doing?
And then Kelvin was basically saying,
you know, I look at it completely different.
No one expected a whole lot from the Knicks.
and they exceeded expectations.
They're in great position with Brunson.
They got their guy, Carl Anthony Towns,
that they went further than anyone would have thought,
and you have to say, man, what a successful season,
even though they lost.
I mean, they went to the Eastern Conference finals
for the first time since the late 90s.
So Kelvin was saying, hey, I look at it like they did great this season.
And Rob Parker was saying, no, man, failure because they didn't win.
Well, you got to ask yourself,
old famous Janice clip where he talks about, is it failure if you don't make it all the way?
Someone said, is it failure?
And he had some beautiful statement about like, you know, no, you learn and it's not always failure.
Like last year, my New York Mets, they like had a great second half grimace.
Oh my God, the fans went crazy.
Linderor and Pete Alonzo.
As a Mets fan, I don't look at last year as a failure because the Dodgers were a better team and they won.
I don't either.
It was a great run for the Mets.
It's lots of fun, a fun season.
But again, that's the name of the game.
As the Crystal Method said, the name of the game is winning here.
We're in the sport of winning.
But if you're a Washington commanders fan,
and you saw what Jane and Daniels is capable of,
and you made it to the NFC championship game.
Yeah, but you lost.
He got smoked in the big championship game.
Do you look at last year as a failure?
Well, no way.
You're basically posing the question to the Fox Sports Radio Nation of
do you believe in moral victories or not?
and how do you view a successful season?
In the Washington football team, Rich, they tanked to get Jaden Daniels.
Well, Danny G., I'll quote you.
I'll quote you in our pre-show meeting when you were saying different organizations have different expectations.
That's why it's tougher to play there.
In fact, recently, Shaquille O'Neal was talking about how playing in big cities don't matter anymore.
With social media, you don't need that sort of pressure that you'll get from an L.A. Lakers, for example, when it comes
to Janus, right?
He don't need that.
He doesn't need the Lakers.
He has social media.
There's different ways.
Big cities don't matter.
It's not the 90s anymore.
So, big cities,
certain organizations,
have different expectations,
different pressures.
Example, the Knicks,
the Yankees, the Lakers.
You're expected to win,
and if you don't win,
is considered a failure.
Other teams,
when you play and make it far,
that's the success.
Yeah, but you can look at what the Knicks did
is a major step in the right direction.
Speaking of what I just mentioned, Janet Daniels,
Cliff Kingsbury is quoted today as saying
he expects a big jump next year from the quarterback.
So now you're talking about there's an expectation for the commanders.
But with the Knicks, the fact that they made the fact that they made the...
You and I actually agree.
Yeah.
Right?
I think that Tom Tibido should not have been fired.
Um, because...
See, I don't know about that.
Much like players getting acclimated,
coaches also have to get acclimated to the players.
No, I'll tell you why.
Dude, this is his first year with Carl Anthony Towns.
I disagree.
Brunson had his back.
If you missed Brunson talking about Tibadoe just after the, it was right after the loss,
he was asked a question about Tibado's future with the Knicks.
Take a listen.
You talk about the confidence, obviously.
I feel like nobody takes more criticism than Tom.
And this team obviously has turned around during his tenure.
Do you kind of feel that going forward, he's the same guy to lift you guys?
the rest of the way, that next level.
Is that a real question right now?
You just ask me if I believe that if he's the right guy.
Yes.
Thanks, guys.
Come on.
Okay, don't you want to keep your star player happy?
A lot of these big stars do not have the patience with these reporters lately.
But now that turns out to be a hell of a question.
That's a hell of a question.
That's why you got to let a reporter do his job.
Let reporters report.
Another thing, guys, is the internet cannot figure out who asks the question.
me and Jason Stewart were looking
and all of these articles we found just say
a reporter. Scoops Callag.
We can't figure out who actually asked it. It was
a money question. I don't know. It really
was a money question because look at it now.
Turns out to be
a major story here
on Fox Sports Radio and for the New York Knicks.
If no one wants to take credit, tell people
with Steve Kavino. I'll take the credit.
Steve Kavino posed the question.
Now, Brunson's
the star and future of the New York Knicks.
They have their guy as
Kelvin Washington, I believe he said.
He's not perfect, but he's the guy.
And he proved that.
Don't you want to keep him happy?
And don't you want to give Tibido a little time to adjust to the new stars that are also on the team,
like the Carl Anthony Townsies of the world?
Like, if we got to give these players, if we make excuses for players acclimating in their first year with the team
and every bad move and bad shot and bad foul they make,
we're not going to give coaches any grace at all when they had success with this team.
I think it's a shame that he got fired.
I think it's an easy scapegoat and an easy finger to point at because he's the coach.
So that's my feelings on it.
Again, the furthest, the furthest they've gone since 1999.
You had Latrell Spreewell and John Starks.
You had all these old Knicks there cheering on the team because there hasn't been this much excitement and you fire the coach.
How does that not feel weird to you?
Sometimes someone can only be.
bring you so far.
And then you've got to go in and say...
Oh, so you think you understand this?
I do. Okay. I think that
maybe, yeah, maybe Jalen Brunson's a good team guy and he's like, that's our coach.
I got, you know, like, how many times has someone said to you, hey, what do you think of
this guy or this woman? And because you're a good guy, like, oh, they're great.
And then when they get let go, you're like, man, they weren't that great.
Because you're just being a good team player.
Anytime a coach gets fired or a coach is on the hot seat,
Every player is like, yo, we got coaches back.
What is he supposed to say?
Yeah, he's all right.
We could probably do better with someone else.
Tom Tibido, let me just read this.
Has a reputation for being ultra demanding and intense,
which has led many players that have played for him to express dislike in recent NBA polls.
Oh, my God.
In recent NBA polls, he has been voted as the coach players would least want to play for.
One of the main reasons.
It's New York.
New York is demanding.
One of the main reasons.
For this perception is the high pressure style and his tendency.
New York is high pressure.
Don't you want to coach that matches the style of the city?
He makes his players practice really hard.
Oh, God forbid.
No, it's a good thing if you look at that way.
I understand how he worked the bench was criticized during his playoff run.
Yeah, his rotation.
His rotation was questioned.
And I get that.
And adjustments were made.
And by the way, no one else was criticized?
Just the other hand.
Oh, his hair line.
Is that you're going to say?
No, but aren't you, aren't you vain?
No, I thought you're going to see it.
I saw people busting on it.
I mean, his hairline is suspect.
I wouldn't call it a line.
It's more like a hair.
You have to squint to see it.
His quote, I don't even though what this means.
His gruff demeanor.
Guys got a gruff demeanor.
But New York has a gruff demeanor because they expect a lot.
And, man, I don't know.
Maybe these nicks are softer than.
we thought. This has got to be
more to it behind the scenes
with the owner, especially. We've
been told for how many years now that Dolan
is pretty incompetent as an owner.
He had to have rub somebody the wrong
way, because I get your point, Rich, about how sometimes
you need a new voice, you need another guy
to bring you over the hump. But it's not
like they went to the Eastern Conference two years
in a row here and just can't get to
the finals. They just turned it around.
Yeah.
To me it makes no sense. I'm with you.
I feel like that story makes them look soft.
he's too tough on you, get out of here.
Right.
And when Rob was saying all this stuff, you're like, get out of here, Rob.
And he turns out being right.
No, I don't think, I mean, he's right that they did it, but I don't think it was the right choice for the Nix.
You get a brand new Carl Anthony Towns and you get to the finals, to the conference finals.
Every year you've gone further.
I don't know what else you're supposed to do.
And like, Ben Stiller, big fan of the Nix, tweeted like, he put us back on the map.
The NICs were nobody's.
Now you're talking about the NICs.
Like, you used to talk about the Nix.
The coolest thing Nix had since 99.
Go New York. Go, New York.
Lincetty.
That was the last fun time in the garden when it came to the Nix.
Well, there was a season or two with Carmel.
No, that's true.
That's true.
Yeah, Carmelo, too.
But...
Way to forget the Syracuse guy.
No, I mean, we were there for that.
But it was Carmelo.
It wasn't Nix.
True.
So what are your thoughts?
Tom Tibido fired on his day off?
This day off.
That does suck, man.
How to hell you're going to get fired on your day off?
After again, five seasons, five winning seasons with the Knicks.
You know, again, you're the first guy, Steve Kavino.
You're the first guy.
I want to do a lot of things.
You're the first guy to brag about your Little League prowess.
Yeah.
You're the first guy to never turn off a baseball game.
You're the first guy to talk about a boring fight.
You're the first guy for a lot of things.
But you're the first guy to talk about how styles make fights.
styles make fights. Have you ever thought that perhaps... That applies to everything in sports.
Yeah, in life. Yeah. Have you ever thought about maybe the style of coaching doesn't mix with this...
This array of athletes? It's got to be. It has to be. That's what I'm thinking too. But that's also shocking to me because you want that gritty tough toughness out of your New York team.
Like your gritty tough New York City subway grimy team is going to cry about a tough coach and they can't get past the
Indiana Pacers.
Let's go old school.
You're a Yankees fan.
I'll give you a Yankee example.
It shows to me that these guys are way softer than I thought.
Let me be condescending.
That's how I feel.
Let me be condescending for a second.
Which I'm good at.
Yeah.
I'll go Yankee since that's your strength.
You got Yankee superpowers.
Give me a hard-ass Yankee coach historically manager.
Lou Pinell.
Like Lou Pinell, kicking dirt, yelling at players, like, you know, really getting into it.
Always mad.
And then on the flip of it, give me a laid-back, just chilling type of manager.
Oh.
Laid-back chills.
Like a Tori?
I was like Joe Tori.
Yeah, very composed.
You don't think that perhaps a Lou Panella or maybe even like a Billy Martin fired-up coach wouldn't have mixed with those 90s, 2000s Yankees teams?
Maybe.
But you also gave this dude one year to vibe with your new star.
One year?
And look, they went pretty far.
I mean, I know.
They had a good season.
I know it was reality, but it was reality based.
It was fiction based on reality, reality based on fiction.
The winning time Lakers documentary on HBO that Danny, we both loved.
Let's be honest.
It was great.
Hated that it was canceled.
But a lot of people were saying, oh, it was very exaggerated.
But if you remember, the coach before Pat Riley that got in the bike accident,
wasn't the sentiment that, like, they got so much talent, but yeah, he's really not the guy.
They weren't married to him.
Like, it almost felt like they were with him.
they were with them.
But the minute they had the opportunity,
it's like, I put him Pat Riley,
and then it was like, wow, this works.
Maybe he just wasn't the guy.
Too tough for the Knicks.
So maybe if we get a little softy pants to be the coach,
the Knicks will be happy and they'll win now.
I don't get it.
Westhead, right?
Yeah.
Westhead, that's what it was.
Now we go to your phone calls.
Think back to that show,
and I know it was not completely factual,
but it was based on, you know, a true story, obviously.
Rich, the players' insurrection had a lot to do
with the problems that was going on with that team.
And it was Magic Johnson finally stepping up to be a leader
and Pat Riley punching his fist through a chalkboard
to get everybody, all the players to stop being soft little babies.
That's true.
I mean, I get what you're saying, Rich.
The manager or coach has to match their personalities
or has to buy it with the personalities on the team
and sometimes it's not a good mix.
You ever date someone?
But I think his record proves otherwise.
You ever date someone and you're like, yeah, we get along.
Sex is good.
We enjoy some of the same things.
We enjoy, you know, we get along.
But there's a party that's like, she's not the one.
She's not the one.
Like, yeah, yeah, we got a good physical connection.
Like, she's cool.
Like, yeah, but it's not like, where's the fireworks?
And I think the Knicks are like,
Tom Tibido wasn't the guy.
Missing something.
Yeah, but sometimes you feel that way,
but you work well together.
Like, I felt that you weren't the one when I met you,
but look how well we worked together.
Nice.
See what I mean?
No, you're not supposed to be in love with your coach.
You're supposed to be BFFs with the guy?
No, I agree.
I'm with you.
You're supposed to, honestly.
Hold on.
That was very rude.
Because when I saw you, I heard mariachi's playing.
I was completely.
And I had my Mexican soulmate.
For the record, I was completely.
I was just taking a cheap shot at Rich.
I've worked for people
that I didn't necessarily love,
but they found a way to bring out
the best in me, so therefore
we won together. It's not about
how much you like somebody. Do they bring the best
out in you? And I thought he did
a pretty decent job considering
every year's a new team. It's his fifth
year with this team, but again, some new stars
this year. They made a lot of big moves.
Further state's gone since 99.

We're out there.
but this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name
Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it
one of the early names of our band
before Jonas Brothers.
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing,
a bit for the podcast,
where people could call in and say,
Hey Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad
Hey Jonas and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.

That's the name of the game.
The name of the game is winning.
So if you don't win and expectations are high in New York, New York Knicks,
is that a failure of a season?
Is that why you fire Tom Tibado?
Or do you say, yeah, man, the guy had one year with Carl Anthony Towns.
He had five winning seasons, four of the five seasons in the playoffs,
took the team far.
No reason to fire the guy.
Yeah, but if you're not in love.
He's too hard for the big bad New York Knicks.
If you're not in love, why you're sticking around with this person.
Okay, well, they're moving on.
I agree with Danny G.
I don't think it was a player issue, even though he has that reputation.
I mean, he was voted last in.
I think something else is stirring the Kool-Aid.
And is it personal or is it just business?
What do you think about his firing?
Pretty sudden, pretty shocking, actually,
considering how far they went this year.
Let's add a Jake and Indy, what's up?
Considering a different bounce could have changed the whole trajectory of the series.
I mean, you're right about that.
I mean, that doink.
The eight-foot doink really set the tone for this guy's career.
All right.
Let's, we'll take a few phone calls about Tibado and then we'll play Iron Mike trivia.
Actually, it's Shaq Diesel trivia today.
Oh, Mike's got the day off.
Oh, man, all right.
Shaq Diesel, I saw him in the lobby.
Jake and Indy, what's up, man?
Tibino did the same thing in Chicago.
He ran a bunch of guys into the ground, but that's what he was known for.
The guys that he trusted, he gave all the minutes to, and you had to prove yourself.
Same thing with New York.
He ran a couple guys, seven guys, I think, was the seven guys he trusted in the playoffs.
And he asked a lot of those guys.
That's what he did in Chicago.
That's what he did in New York.
Is it premature?
Absolutely.
They should not have fired him.
As a Bulls fan, I would take him over Donovan in an absolute
New York Minute. Thanks, guys. Appreciate you.
And Jake, that was the criticism. And when
the Knicks stepped off the bench, they stepped
up and they were like, well, why didn't he do that?
Sooner. You're
paying these guys, the guys you trust, a lot
of money for a reason. This is when it counts.
You know, sometimes, though, I think about
connection, too. Right?
Like, is this guy connecting with the guys
on and off the court? Like, I were
saying, you were saying that he has a reputation,
he's not married, he's a single guy.
Wasn't their story where, when he was in Chicago,
he had a milk crate with a TV on it?
Yeah, very bare bones apartment, like, you know, not like art on the wall and, you know, a lot of sophisticated stuff.
He's just basketball pure and simple.
And maybe that doesn't connect with these young dudes in New York.
Who knows?
And really quick, Rich, just so we get it right, because I know we weren't around for this.
We weren't alive yet.
But it was Jack McKinney who had the bicycle accident.
Oh, yeah, you know, I was going to say it.
Yeah.
And Westhead took over for him and then Pat Riley took over for him.
That's what it was.
Okay.
Yeah.

conversation about baseball
stirrups and pizza and Tom Tibido.
Well, dude, it's funny you would say the stirrup thing, because
something like, as dumb as that. Yeah.
Got so much feedback in every clip
I'm now watching. Like, they just on
the background here, I saw a clip of
Nolan Ryan.

Hey, what's going on?
Oh, that was.
I was a sad goodbye from TNT.
I almost cried.
No, I saw you wipe in your tears.
I was trying to hold it back.
Like Rich Davis watching Folgers commercials.
Watching coffee commercials.
By the way, I was looking for a damn buyer.
I see Moncey.
Hi.
Hey, baby.
Hi.
What'd you think about the...
You see my big shoes?
I do.
It's hot.
Hey, Danny G.
What size shoes are those?
I asked Danny G.
He got one of them.
Yeah, you gave me one of your shoes back in the late 90s.
That's right.
That's right.
You sniff it every night.
I put an air freshener in it right when you gave it to me.
Hey, Shaq, what do you think about people that say ESPN is going to ruin your show?
I think you're crazy.
We got a new host and everything.
It's me, Charles, Ernie, Kenny, and Mickey.
Mickey Mouse.
Hey, Mickey Mouse.
Yeah.
The mouse is watching.
What do you think about the big headline today with Tibbs being fired?
I was to say, if it don't work out on ESPN, I'm the coach of the Knicks.
I'm coaching the Knicks.
They need a big man like me, Shaq.
Smack him around a little bit.
One of the few teams you didn't play for it.
That's right.
All right.
Let's meet the contestants.
10-time winner, Rich Davis, right over there.
Yeah, let's go.
Four-time winner in the house, Spotty Boy.
Oh, I thought that was a Mickey Mouse.
Let's do it.
Leader in the clubhouse, 14-time winner, Dan Byer is not here today.
Moncey ballonios is sitting in.
I like Moncee.
And looking to win a C&R stainless steel swiggy on our studio lines.

Thank you, Jay.
do for a living there in North Kakalaka?
Firefighter.
Oh, dude, look at you.
Very cool.
It's a real hero.
All right, here are the rules for Shaq Diesel trivia.
The first contestant with two correct answers is the champ.
If there's a tie, we have a tiebreaker question.
Your name is your buzzer, but you do have to wait until all three possible answers are read.
If there's two wrong answers in a row, we move on to the next question.
Are you ready?
Let's go.
Let's get it home.
All right, let's get this big Arrestlaw party started.
Who was the second leading score of the OKC Thunder this?
season. A, Chet Holmgram, B, Jalen Williams, or C, Alex Crusoe, second leading score.
Moncey.
Moncee. I'm going to go with B. Jalen Williams.
Yes. Wow.
Oh, yeah.
Bam. Bam.
She came to play.
Just like that. Moncy.
21.21.6 points.
On the board. And yeah, Jay, you got to be quick to say your name there and nothing to lose.
You're not punished if you answer and correct.
Moncy, you're messing around.
All right. Round two.
All right, round two.
I have a question. I'm sorry.
How much did I have any did Chet?
It was close, right?
No, Chet averaged close to 17, I think, or 15 and Williams, 21.6.
Okay.
Caruso, about eight or nine?
Yeah.
Okay.
All right, round two.
What was our once quote of saying about living simple?
A, the simple life is for suckers.
Complicated has given me wealth.
B, the only man who truly has a simple life is Chuck when he's in a casino or a C.
If you don't stick to simplicity, you'll die a horrible death.
Jay
Jay
let's go B
Rich
Rich for the steel
C

that's right
that's great job

all right
all right

so Moncey

MJ
A83
B 84 or C 85?
Jay.
Jay.
84.
Yes.
84 NBA draft at the Garden.
Yes, sir, the Madison Square Garden.
So three-way tie, Monty, Rich, and Jay all on the board as we moved to round four.
All right, round four.
What player did the Lakers trade to the Hornets for the rights to Kobe Bryant?
A. Eldon Campbell, B, Trom Kersey, or C.

All right, Jay for the win.
What's that, Jay?
Is that A?
No.
Damn.
Rich for the win?
No, this is going to be?
No.
You're both losers.
Lottie.
Lottie.
Why did I think that was not the answer?
I don't know.
All right.
So still a three-way tie.
Round five.
Round five.
Here we go.
Which of these, by the way,
Is there any pizza left?
I don't think so.
I smell pizza.
Cheese and pepperoni.
Focus.

Rich.

High goes to the call.
Jay.
Jay?
I don't know.
I'm going to guess and say Akeem.
Yep.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You're a living.
What's doing.
And you know why?
He was in the same draft as who?
Michael Jordan, correct?
I don't know.
Thanks, Bill.
Thanks, Bill Belichick.
Wasn't that draft?
Wasn't that draft, Sam Bowie, Olajuwon, then Jordan?
Yeah, we're looking at up right now.
You tell us.
I know more about basketball than anyone else in the trip.
Come on.
I mean, we're not 19.
Yeah, we're not experts on that year, right?
That draft was.
Well, anyway, guys, I got things to do at ESPN.
Can I go now?
What are you going to go?
Go to Disney parade?
Me and Chuck.
Yeah, we're in a Disney parade today.
He's going to eat pizza.
Me, Chuck, Goofy, Donald.
He got things to do.
He gets enough free Papa John's pizza.
All right, later, guys.
Later, dude.
Oh, your pick really quick for Thursday, dude, for the finals.
Pacers.
Wow.
Oh, all right.
I said for Thursday, not for the whole thing.
Oh, God.
All right.
Later, guys.
Hi, Shaq.
Hi, Shaq.
Thanks for stopping by.
Love you, Monzie.
It was Sam Bowie.
and, you know, they can never live that down.
Correct.
And in Portland.
And then Olajuwon.
Olajuwon going ahead of Jordan.
Olajuwon was the number one.
Oh, he, Olajuwon was the number one overall pick.
All right.
And then two.
Sam Bowie, then Michael Jordan.
I remember, you know, I was a little, I was in diapers.
But I remember people saying they couldn't blame the rockets for taking Olajuwon.
It's a Lajuan.
But it was the buoy pick that everyone's like, oh my God.
How'd you do that?
Baba booie?
Yes.
Fah, Fah, Fooey.
No way.
Two, too, toothy.
Oh, man.
Yeah, I was just giving brohugs to Shaq in the hallway.
We didn't congratulate Jay.
Jay, going to mail that Swiggy to North Carolina for you.
Nice.
So congratulations, brother.
Way to go, bud.
Way to go.
Yeah, Jay's going to mail his sexy fireman calendar to Monsi.
Yes, I'll take it.
He needs to put out fires.
For the record, for the record, Fred Dirst did put the red yakey hat on the map.
Dude, that's what I'm saying.
And no mention?
He got no mention.
No mention.
Spike Lee got all the credit.
man. So anyway, thank you, Jay. Congrats. And we got more prizes. Well, every day we give away
prizes. We'll be giving away lots of prizes at our party in Vegas. 20th, 21st, 22nd at Circa. So we hope

going to be there and have fun. Please, RSVP, so Spock could get a head count. We're ordering like some swag and

All right.
Encephal wants to know he orders enough hors d'oeuvres, right?
Enough pizzas.
Enough pizzas.
Cheeses and pizza.
Cheese and pepperoni.
Hors duvers.
I'm cutting.
Hors diavres.
Oh, horse diavres.
Rich needs an estimate because he always buys all of us a drink at these events.
That's doing a child's party cut of the pizza.
It's going to all be like 36 slices and one pizza.
Now, I got a question for you guys.
Have you heard the story of Clara Adams' state title winner from Salinas?
Anything for you?
Salinas, California.
Salinas.
Salinas.
Oh, Lina, Selina.
You know, it's a great story, and I want you to set it up and tell everyone.
But first, let's go to Moncey for an update.
Oh, okay.
And then we'll wrap with the story of all stories.
The story Camino's about to tell you is, we'll fire you up, it'll make you mad.
All right.
I know the breaking news today was Tom Tivito being relieved of his head coaching duties,
but apparently it's raining at Dodger Stadium.
So that's breaking news.
There are scattered showers going through the area right now.
I just looked.
Yeah, I know.
Thank you.
Correct.
All right there, Stormfield.
Isolian.
All right, Dallas.
Raines. Rain it in Dallas.
Yeah. Okay. Sorry, sorry.
Distracting here.
Javier rains.

What's crazy is that New York actually extended him this past summer.
He was supposed to stay with the season with the team through the 2027, 2028 season.
Obviously not anymore.
Finishes his time in New York with the fourth most wins by a coach in franchise history.
Is he get all that money?
I don't.
Is it all guaranteed?
I hope so.
He doesn't seem like one of the type of guys that would want to sit on his butt the way Sam described him.
Sure.
I agree.
I'm sorry, Javier Hale.
Our weatherman.
Same champion.
Yeah, I hope he gets so money.
Oh, yeah.
NFL news, CJ Stroud, Texas quarterback.
He's been sitting out of throwing portions of OTAs due to what was initially believed to be a pectoral, a pectoral issue.

guys. Thank you, Moncie.
And out of Sam, but the weather. And by the way, Moncie, I saw
Shaq in the hallway. He was asking about you.
Oh, excuse me, I'll be back. Oh, okay, yeah.
Yeah, he had all these questions about Monce.
Wow. Yeah. Something's going on.
Yeah. That's what I heard. So, we're Covino
and Rich. Danny G. Sam,
Monce. Spotty's on the videos at Covino
and Rich. There's a story from
Salinas, California. I'll set it up
and let you think about it. Let it simmer.
We'll take your phone calls.
Clara Adams, a student
at Salinas.
running the 400 meter, and she runs it like 53.24 seconds.
And she's a state finalist, breaks the records.
And she celebrates by taking a fire extinguisher.
She wins the state title.
Yeah, she wins the state title.
This is big.
Yeah.
They bring her a fire extinguisher.
Her coaches and her dad, they're all in on it.
So it's not something she did rogue and she's being crazy.
this was thought out.
And she sprays her cleats down because they're so hot, they're so on fire.
She's so fast.
She's so fast.
Paying homage to Morris Green, the American Sprint icon.
You've seen that clip before where the dude takes his shoes off and he hoses them down with the fire extinguisher.
Well, all the people there seem to get a big kick out of it.
The CIF, the officials in charge there even seem to get a kick out of it.
But then all of a sudden, they disqualifier for being unspriced.
sportsman like with her celebration.
They stripping her of her title.
And this becomes a story.
And we're wondering now, do you get mad at a kid if they're just doing what the pros do?
This is an iconic moment.
And it's become such a story that even Maurice Green, the American sprinter that's known for doing this,
he's like, yo, come on, you got to give her her title back.
That's ridiculous.
You got this young woman in tears, and you'll hear it, trying to just plead her.
her case of like I was just celebrating and honestly it was so not a big deal.
Her family comment on it.
Yeah, let's take a listen to her dad, David Adams.
When she blew the fire extinguisherer, the opponents were gone.
That was our moment of celebration and the CIF officials made that about them.
The crowd went crazy.
They loved it.
The booth, CF booth went crazy.
They loved it.
But those few guys in those jackets, they took offense to it, didn't like it.
And they made a decision based on emotions.
They stripped her of an accomplishment.
Now, what do you think about this?
And the bigger question is, when you see little kids bat flip,
when you see little kids do what the pros do.
They throw out a bunch of high school and college kids now on that.
Yeah, there was a clip just this week where, you know, there was a big bat flip.
And I was like, yo, there's always an issue there.
Is this celebration?
Is this unsportsmanlike?
When the kids are just mimicking what they see on TV from the stars,
Is that wrong or understandable?
We'll take your phone calls and your feedback.
87799 on Fox.
We got more Covino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio next.
Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers.
And guess what?
We have some big news.
What's the news, name?
Huge news.
We created our own podcast called,
Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts.
We're starting a trend.
But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name,
Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember
I think it was on a call about what we should call it
and we were thinking
I'm originally calling it
one of the early names of our band
before Jonas Brothers
was this is how you guys remember it going down
Yes I have a very different memory of this
We were talking about a thing
A bit for the podcast where people could call in and say hey Jonas
And then I wrote down on my little
Notepad Hey Jonas and offered it up as a potential title
For the podcast

I don't know if you saw this though.
Beware, Eagles.
Immediately after that it was announced

He hopped on the grill at Chino's Steaks in South Philly.

Nice.
He's a man of the people.
He's just the man.
Before we get to the feedback on this terrible story about this girl,
Clara Adams, who got her state title ripped away.
You're the king of this.
You know when someone tells you something?
You're like, I knew that.
Wait, or did I?
I'm the king of if someone drops a fun fact.
You're like, I knew that.
And then you convince yourself like, did I know that?
You're right.
Because I'm like, I definitely knew that.
I think I knew that.
My buddy Rob in Texas head of stuff.
He listens every day down in San Antonio.
And he goes, did you?
Did you know that Kobe was traded for Vladivok?
And I'm like, yeah, of course I did.
And I blanked.
Or did I not?
Did I?
Like, you know, you're not sure?
Once you hear the answer?
When you hear the answer, I believe there's a party that I can't believe you didn't know that.
Like, of quit.
Of course I knew that.
I think the other interesting part of our job, we read so many sports articles and watch so many sports
reels and clips and everything daily that there is so much in our head.
Sometimes I feel like my head is going to explode.
If people saw the text message thread,
between me, you and Kavino, just sending each other stuff day and night.
Yeah, and on weekends, too.
It never stopped.
We're open seven days a week.
No doubt.
But thank you for working hard as you do, Danny.
And I think I knew that.
Of course I did.
Or didn't I.
And speaking of working a lot, Rich and I do a Patreon every day.

We talked about how hard it is as a parent sometimes when your kid doesn't make the team.
or when your kid is treated unfairly by the coaches or by an organization.
That's rough.
Because whatever your kid goes through, you go through as a parent.
And that's really, really tough to deal with.
Luckily, my daughter made the cheer team last night.
But you were saying some of her friends didn't.
Some of her friends didn't.
And my goodness, that's so tough because that's their social circle.
Do you remember that feeling like if your buddy didn't make the team you were on?
You're like, then you have to be all weird.
Like you can't really talk about it.
Like, yeah, the football time.
I mean, yeah, what's up, man?
But thank God because I would have had to deal with all that.
imagine how
Clara Adams
dad feels when she has to defend
when he has to defend her
his daughter take a listen to Dave Adams
defending Clara she was stripped of her
state title
when she blew the fire extinguisher
the opponents were gone
that was our moment of celebration
and the CIAF officials made that
about them the crowd went crazy
they loved it the booth
CF booth went crazy they loved it
but those few guys in those jackets
they took offense to it didn't like it
and they made a decision based on emotions.
So Dave is so disappointed and feels so bad for his daughter.
He was in on this celebration.
This is out of Salinas, California, state title.
Clara Adams ran the 400 meter 53, 24,
and was disqualified when she took the fire extinguisher
to put out her cleats in celebration.
Yeah, like she was so fast.
She was so fast.
Her shoes were on fire.
But again, even the guy that's known for it,
Maurice Green.
The American sprinter, the icon, was like,
yo, come on, man.
I'm famous for doing that.
I was honored.
You got to give her back her title.
She's crying to the public.
That's my title.
That's all I want back.
I have the final way to end this.
She meant no disrespect.
It was just a celebration.
The final way to end this, the positive.
Now we know who Clara Adams is.
Congratulations.
She's getting some love on box sports as well as other,
I'm sure, sports network.
So props to Clara Adams.
When you celebrate your victory.
No one could take that away from her, Kavino.
Okay.
The moment, she won.
She knows she won, and everyone knows she won.
Now, I think she is an example of robbery, right?
They took this from her.
But even when someone wins and they don't deserve it,
whether it be the Astros or Barry Bonds with home runs
or Reggie Bush flipping into the end zone with his Heisman and people,
if the moment happened, I can't unsee it.
This girl won the race.
You can't undo that.
She won.
Just because they take it away.
If they want to strip this from her, F them, she deserves it.
She knows she won.
And that was my problem with the Astros.
Remember when I said like,
they won, they cheated, but guess what they got to do?
Celebrate and you can't take that away good or bit.
You can't take that moment away.
You can't.
So Clara Adams won, even though the state title was stripped.
Again, disqualified for unsportsmanlike conduct, I guess.
And the second question is, when you see little kids doing what the big leaguers do,
can you be mad at them for that?
No, if a kid in literally hits a double and starts doing like to show hey wave.
Right. It's annoying.
What do you expect?
That's what the big leaguers are doing.
Or the Mets rolling of the hands into the fist.
And isn't that the entertainment factor and value of what we want out of sports sometimes?
That's the fun side of it.
That's why the Savannah bananas are selling out stadiums.
And the Marlins and Rockies had 100 people at the game yesterday.
How could he be mad at a kid or disqualify him or take their title away?
Yeah.
My, listen, we'll continue tomorrow.
Until then.
Have a great night.
Arrivederechi, baby.
See you in the Promise Land.
Goodbye, guys.
Hey, guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers.

We created our own podcast called Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
But, you know, tired and sick.
