Today we are stacked. Michael Urban, stop and
haven't talked to him in a long time.
How are you?
I'm great.
What a weekend, huh?
It was a wild weekend.
Between the Rams and the Bears and the Cowboys and the Eagles, it was like seven and a half hours of crazy football.
Here we go in December and January.
So let's deal.
Let's talk Cowboys, Eagles.
Let's deal in facts here.
Because football is emotional.
It got the highest rating of any TV game this year.
I mean, good Lord, everybody was watching that game.
And the way it ended and the way it started and it was a huge rivalry.
Let's deal in facts with Dak Prescott here.
Let's take the emotion out of it.
Number one, here's the future of the Dallas Cowboys at quarterback.
Source told me this weekend, somebody very close to Jerry Jones told me this weekend.
Jerry loves Dak because he has saved the franchise.
Tony Romo gets hurt.
They go into a tank.
They win three games.
Dak saves the franchise.
Zechiel Elliott Mess.
Dax steps in, handles it.
Des Bryant exit.
Dak stands in, handles it.
The National Anthem controversy.
Who was the player standing next to Jerry with his hand and his heart?
Dak Prescott.
Jerry feels this young man is the future of the franchise.
Let's just deal in facts.
As a personality, Dak Prescott's an A-plus.
His intangibles are off the charts.
He's tough.
He always says the right.
thing. That controversy for the national anthem did not make him beloved. A lot of players
pushed back on that and Dak didn't care. Dac was there for his owner. He's handled the
Zik mess, the Des mess, the anthem controversy. This kid's personality, I wish Johnny Mansell
would have paid attention to it. Sometimes I wish Baker Mayfield would pay attention to it. Perfect
personality. So let's deal in facts. He is great. He is off the charts of intangibles. That's A.
let's go to the B.
DAC is pretty average.
Accuracy, not great.
Consistency doesn't really have any.
Arm, okay.
Size, average.
Pocket awareness, bad.
Fumble problem, hideous.
He's an average quarterback.
Last night, they had the ball for 45 minutes.
That's almost unheard of in the NFL.
That was over twice as long as the Eagles.
He was 42 of 50,
They averaged eight yards of play.
And they needed overtime at home with their defense?
The Saints had that same box score against Philadelphia, beat him by 40.
I mean, that game should never have been this close.
Can you imagine even Carson Wentz that running back and that defense?
So let's deal in facts.
Intangibles leadership, personality, DAC is an A-plus.
Talent is a quarterback.
He ain't top 15 in this league.
So let's get to see.
And this is the most important.
Self-awareness.
DAC has shown incredible self-awareness.
Because if you're a cowboy fan this morning, you're happy, but you want this puppy to last, right?
You want this puppy to last for 15 years.
Football is really fun when you win for 15 years.
Ask Patriot fans.
Ask Steelers fans.
Ask mostly Packer fan.
It's fun when you win for 15 years.
And you want this puppy to last.
So A, intangible is great.
B, talent average.
Does C, let's deal in facts.
Dak needs a lot of help to win.
He needs a great running back, not a good one.
He needs a great defense.
Not a good one.
He needs a great pass rush.
He needs to be at home a lot.
The games are going to be off and low, scoring, and close.
Dak needs a lot of help.
And Dak can keep that help if he has the self-awareness to say,
pay me $21 million a year, not $28.
Because once again,
Dak's going to win a division.
Once again,
Dax's the Dallas Cowboy quarterback.
If you look at Dax wins,
they're right up there with Breeze.
They're right up there with Brady.
They're right up there with Ben.
He's going to be able to get $28 million.
Does Dak, and I believe he does,
have the self-awareness to know,
I'm not Russell Wilson.
I'm not Andrew Luck.
I need help.
I am winning close games by three points in overtime when I have the ball for 45 minutes.
I have seen lack of self-awareness derail incredible athletes, Carmelo Anthony.
I have seen lack of self-awareness and careers with promise, Johnny Mansell.
If we're dealing in facts here, the greatest gift Dak Prescott has is not size arm feet intangibles.
It is self-awareness.
Dallas should have blown Philadelphia out of the stadium last night.
They had the ball for over twice as long.
They averaged almost seven yards of play.
They had the significantly better defense, the best wide receiver, the best running back.
They were at home.
Everything went Dallas's way, and they needed that tip thing at the end to Amari to capture it.
So I think this thing can last, and I'd feel good if you're a cowboy fan this morning,
but more than anything with Dak, does he understand what he needs for this franchise going
forward to keep winning this division?
And it's a lot of help around him.
By the way, here's the numbers for Dak Prescott throwing to Amari and throwing to everybody
else.
When he's throwing to Amari, he's a Pro Bowl quarterback.
When he's throwing to everybody else, he's a Sun Bowl.
quarterback. You want to keep Amari. You want to pay Amari. Because with Amari, it's pretty special.
Let me shift gears to this. L.A. Rams were an easy team to overhype. I picked the Bears to beat
him yesterday. I said about a month ago, the Rams are good. I see a lot of holes in this ship. I didn't
like their run defense. I don't think they match up with the Saints or the Cowboys, even at home.
They don't have much of a home field advantage.
I think they need the perfect environment to win.
By the way, last night, Matt Nagy was the best coach in the field.
Matt Nagy with average running backs, solid, not spectacular receivers.
And Mitch Tribisky dominated time of possession, dominated rushing, dominated yards per play.
Matt Nagy was the best coach in the field.
I mean, let's be honest, NBC's Chris Collinsworth doesn't bad mouth anybody.
He loves everybody.
He loves every player, every play, every game, every moment.
For three and a half hours, he told you, in the nicest way possible,
Mitch Trubisky is a one-reed quarterback.
I mean, Collinsworth must have said it 10 times, and he's totally true.
It's a college quarterback running a college offense with a tremendous young coach.
And I understand everybody falling in love with the Rams I did for a while before I bailed
a month ago.
A, they're good.
I mean, they're good.
They're also glitzy.
So fringe fans like them.
of free agents. They got a bunch of stars. They're kind of a likable team. I understand liking them.
But you know what I noticed last night? They're becoming like a lot of LA teams. They're good when
they're at home and they're good when they're comfortable. Remember what the Dodgers looked like
in that first game joy at Fenway Park? It looked like they had no interest being in the eastern
time zone. The Dodgers had all this talent. The minute you put them in Fenway Park, it was a cold,
dark windy night. They looked absolutely uncomfortable. In the dugout, at the plate, on the
mound, in the field. The Dodgers wanted no part of being in Boston in October. And last
night, the Rams looked like it was just too cold. And they were uncomfortable and they didn't like it.
And by the way, in sunny September and October, their first seven games, they won by 16 points.
in their last five post- Thanksgiving, last six, they've won by two, three, five, lost.
The NFL, to some degree, has caught up to the Rams.
Not completely.
They're still a very good team.
They'll play much better than this at home against teams not nearly as good as the Bears in their defense.
But the Rams now have become a target.
And the NFL coaches are tired of hearing how great Sean McBay is.
The NFL defensive coordinators are tired of hearing about this guru, this.
this Elon Musk, this genius, he's smarter than everybody else.
They're tired of it.
And last night, when the Bears ran that trick play in the end zone, you know what that was?
That was the Chicago Bears saying, no, no, we're going to out clever you too.
We're not only going to out tough you.
We're not only going to handle the weather.
We're not only going to beat you up physically, but we're, we put this play in.
We're going to out smart and clever you too, because everybody's tired of here.
about how cool and how smart and how hip Sean McVey is.
Everybody's getting tired of it in this league.
And Matt Nagy, who to me is doing more with that offense with less talent,
put in a trick play.
And they did that for a reason.
We're pretty smart here too.
We're fun here too.
Hey, McVe, you didn't invent football.
We do crazy stuff too.
And I'll say it again.
Matt Nagy is doing way more offensively.
with way less. He didn't have a Todd Gurley. He didn't have a Robert Woods. His left tackle's not as good as the Rams.
Mitch Trubisky's not close to golf in terms of throwing the football. He's a one-reed quarterback.
So I still think the Rams are good, but that was a, that was a signal from the NFL to the Rams.
Bring it down a little. You didn't invent football. You're becoming a little L.A.
Ooh, it's chilly outside.
Can we get back on a plane and go back to the palm trees?
I don't know how real the bears are,
but they were really prepared and really sending a message
to McVane the Rams last night.
Right, Michael Irvin's around the corner,
where Colin was right, where Colin was wrong at the top of next hour.
Have the Cowboys become the NFL's optical's optical
illusion, and I'll explain that coming up next.

Welcome back.
Five-time Pro Bowler, a Hall of Famer, 12 NFL seasons.
He's really one of the iconic wide receivers in the history of the NFL.
He's outrageously funny.
And he does something that I do, Michael Irvin.
When I was a kid, until I got into this business, I always bet against my team for good luck.
So then if my team loses, I win $100, and if they win, I'm happy as hell.
You're in a win-win situation.
So you've been picking against the Cowboys, Michael Irvin, for a month and a half,
and you're feeling great today.
And we've won every game that I picked against them.
And it's amazing how superstitious you are about things like that.
Were you as a player?
Oh, God, yes.
Oh, God, yes.
Whatever suit I wore, my boxers had to match.
right right to walk in the locker room last and and everybody wait till i got undressed to unveil the
boxers with the suit and all of those things little things like that you do no matter what all football
players are like that you don't mess with success you don't mess with now amari cooper trade i want to
show you a piece of tape we love the trade you called the trade this is from the NFL network
watch this i tell you what the cowboys need to trade for right what i tell you an instance
simple what the Cowboys need to trade for.
And that's wide receiver.
A wide receiver.
Cowboys wide receiver are 27 in yards right now ranking.
And the passing game is 29th in the NFL.
And Amari Cooper would be the perfect guy.
I know a lot of people are down on this guy right now.
But in 15 and 16, he went over 1,000 yards.
And last year, 17, he had seven touchdowns,
even though he missed two games.
This man right here is the missing piece to the Dallas Cowboys,
truly being a Super Bowl
contend. Okay, you literally look like
the world's smartest man.
That's why I love you, Colin.
You let him know that this is
not, I'm not just analyzing because
people, I'm not a broadcaster,
I'm an analyst. The TV is
broadcasting my analyzation of
what I'm doing, so I'm an analyst.
But in order to understand
the greatness of my analyzation,
you must see that I am
a seer. I see that
thing that is going to happen,
Before it happened, the Bible called them seers, prophecy.
Well, I watched that and I thought, oh, Jerry tipped you off.
Who tipped you off?
Nobody tipped me off.
No, I will say, nobody.
What was it about Amari Cooper?
Who, to your point, people were down on, Michael?
I heard his work ethic had gone into the...
They were down on them.
What did you see?
First of all, and I say this to people all the time, as I study NFL Y receivers,
Amari Cooper is great.
in transition and getting in and out of routes.
He's great at it.
And I knew that Prescott was a young quarterback.
And I was like, wow, he needs,
the greatest thing you can give a young quarterback
is a great transition receiver.
What does that mean to our audience?
That means a guy, if I'm running a 17-yard comeback,
17 back to 15,
when I got a guy that can transition like Amari Cooper,
as a quarterback, when I see him,
he'll run 15 yards.
He's going to try to break down the last two yards and then come back out of that route.
He's so great at getting in and out of it transitioning.
Gotcha.
I can now throw the ball to an open guy.
When he's going in the route, knowing when he comes out of the route, he's wide open.
I don't have to wait to see him open.
I can throw it before he comes open.
And now my confidence rises, and I knew.
And he's young.
I was like, put him with Zeke and Dak, and you can have something for him.
a long time. Now listen, I didn't like him out of college. I said he was a way better T-bo.
And then he won, and I had to shut up. And then I still watch him now. And I say, and I said
this to start the show, his intangibles are off the charts. As an armed talent, consistency,
as a lot I don't love. Why is Jerry so loyal? Because there's a lot of times I watch him.
He doesn't look like Mahom. He doesn't throw a ball like golf. He doesn't do a lot what a lot of
Andrew Lux do and Russell Wilson's.
What is it about him in Dallas?
You see what you did?
You see what you did?
Which is amazing to me.
You giving
Mahomes and golf
a level of greatness
because you've seen his arm
talent or you see what golfed.
Dak Prescott has more wins
than all of them.
Dak Prescott came in
and did things that none of them has
done in his first year,
in his first few years.
But we see certain things and we see these dynamic offenses and Mahomes and golf and everything.
Dak Prescott has everything and he's still a young quarterback.
And there's some things he's got to get better at because he's missed a couple guys running deep.
His fumble issue?
He got to get better at that.
And he knows that.
But we're measuring quarterbacks so early now.
If you had said he didn't look like Tom Brady in this era.
He didn't look like Peyton Manning.
No, you said,
golf in my homes. Those guys
hadn't been doing anything for a long time.
It's the last couple of years
and now we're measuring everything to those young guys.
But Dak Prescott
wins football games and a great leader.
You can't deny his leadership.
You cannot deny that. You're most
important cowboys. You gave our
guys a list
of the most important quarterbacks. You go
Zeke Dak Amari. I like
how you have all the offensive guys at the top.
DeMarcus, Jaylen, and Leighton
Banderesh. That's the order I go in
with them. Let me ask you this, though. A lot of people are falling in love with your linebackers
and your pass rush. If I told you of those six players, you had to choose the offensive guys
or defensive guys. Is the future of the Cowboys defense or offense? No, no. Listen, in this league,
always have the ability to win games, scoring points. I get so caught when people say,
defense wins championships. No, it doesn't. Now, if you got to turn over,
defense, you can win championships.
Bears. Because points win championships.
If you stop me,
95 plays out of 100,
but one of those other five plays, I go
score and your offense can't score,
I still win the game. I still win
the game. You've got to know how to
score points in this league, and
defense gives you a great opportunity
by stopping the other team.
By the way, Michael Irvin joining us, Hall of Famer,
the six
highest-paid quarterbacks in the NFL,
none lead their division. Brady
Breeze and Ben take pay cuts.
Okay. Is
Dak, does Dak realize
we are better as a team,
Michael, if I make 22, not
29? Well,
more importantly than Dak realizing that,
Jerry Jones realizes
that. Does he? Yes. And
Jerry will be smart. I do believe Jerry
is going to be smart and go to
Dak prior to him
hitting the open market. Because in the business
of what quarterbacks, the statement you
just made, high is paid,
not even leading the division because it's not about performance it's just about hey you're the next guy up
you get to be the highest paid it doesn't matter in any other it like it does in every other position
so now you got to go to deck before he becomes up and give him somewhere give him a great number
that's good for both sides so come before he's up come before he's up i'll give you some money early
right but you can't you can't gouge us for 27 well we we got to
to work together in this.
We're going to give you, well, I'm going to come early.
I'm going to give you a long enough deal with enough upfront money so you can be happy,
but we're going to get a little bit of a break so we can put some other people around.
So when you look at the Cowboys and you look at the NFC right now,
you beat New Orleans at home.
Yes.
Okay.
Is there a team, as you sit here today, Michael, that you don't think Dallas matches up with?
Is there a team you'd love to see him play in the playoffs and one that worries you?
I was worried about the Saints because they were so explosive.
And I said, there was no way Dallas can match that explosiveness.
But that was prior to me seeing the performance of the defense against the Saints.
Because really, I underestimated that defense.
I said, no way they can keep the Saints down.
And then I overestimated what the Rams are doing.
He said no way anybody can stop them.
I saw that yesterday.
I saw what the Cowboys did to the Saints.
I saw what the Bears did to the Rams.
And you say, oh, my God, yes, you can.
Yes, you can.
You can win this year.
But what you have right now, if it all comes together the right way,
the Cowboys have everything they need.
It's very interesting.
So we see the Rams going to cold weather and they crumble.
And, you know, everybody loved the Rams for this first seven, eight weeks.
And it's funny, Michael.
because I think of Dallas as a warm-weather team.
But what's interesting about this Cowboys team,
your team had some Akeman.
You were very dynamic.
There was a lot of glitz.
But what I find funny with this cowboy team,
they're very blue-collar.
They're very physical.
They're not that dynamic.
Collar, I'm telling you.
They are physical.
And watching that game, I was at Thursday night,
I watched when Jaylon Smith came across and hit him,
and I promise you, Kamar, when I looked at him,
I could tell he was like, what was that?
Like they're fast.
They remind me of the defenses we had in the 90s.
You know, a lot of guys up front going out to the quarterback and fast linebackers.
It's hard to get, you will not have more speed than the Cowboys defense have.
And that's the key to that defense right now.
Yeah.
So, by the way, Michael Irvin, NFL network analyst,
2018 Thursday night football season on Fox.
Amazon Prime Video concludes this Thursday,
Chargers, Chiefs, and a pivotal AFC Westbat.
It's a great game there. That's a great game.
That's a great thing. So when you played, what's remarkable, when you played in the NFL, as a
corner, I could grab you. Yeah. As a safety, I could tear your head off. As a linebacker,
I could shadow you and lock your arms. What would Michael Irvin be like today in the NFL?
Well, now that we've removed courage out of the league, courage does not say,
that I did not have fear.
It says I had an ability to overcome my fear.
Jimmy Johnson told me,
you were the only cowboy receiver they would send over the middle.
You knew you were going to get smoked.
Jimmy said, Michael was the only guy.
Let's go do it.
Most receivers wouldn't go over the middle in your day.
What would you do today?
Without, we used to hit back and separate you from the ball.
Now we have to wait until you catch the ball.
I'm like, you can't.
touch me until I catch the ball.
Are you joking?
This is not, this is
7-07 for me.
And not only that, they're getting
15 to 20 targets a game.
We will win games
completing 22, 23 passes
total. You know what I mean?
It's just total different game. But does it bother you?
Do you like it?
Well, it bothered me at first
until my boys became
old enough to play. Then I was like,
let's make it safer. You know what I'm saying?
But before, I wanted other guys to go through what I went through before you can catch that pass.
I wanted you to feel that pain.
I wanted you to have to catch a ball and try to be separated from the ball like I did.
But then when my son said, Dad, I'm playing football.
I'm like, we need to get this thing safer.
You know what I'm saying?
And so I'm happy it's getting safer.
So how often do you talk?
Jerry Jones loves you.
You've had great relationships with Troy and all your former cowboys.
You know, Jerry, I watch him in the owner's box.
He is so happy.
He is.
He's a good man.
He's been very good to a lot of people.
He's a good man.
Jerry going forward, I know a lot of times we think, you know, Jerry's a little crazy.
Does Jerry still make a call in Dallas or is Stephen running it?
If I said to you today, who makes the final call on draft day?
Who makes the final call on DAC salary?
Listen, Jerry's always delegated to Steve.
to Stephen Jones, a long time ago.
When I was working on my contracts,
because I was involved with all of them,
he would say, let's talk to Stephen.
So he's always, he's groomed Stephen.
He's that kind of a father.
He helps us in business.
Of course, he's going to prepare his own sons for business.
He will give them the call.
He will give them the call.
Now, he's like the president.
He will have veto power over all things.
Did he ever say no to you?
Oh, God, yes.
Jerry said no to you?
Well, when we're doing negotiations,
he may say no to my number,
but he'll say it in a special way.
You know, like, like I had won't receive of the year,
and I would write down a number and pass it over to him,
and he would go into these long stories.
Oh, Michael, you know, back in such and such with my dad,
we did this, we were down in Al Paso,
and happened down in El Paso, you know.
So what I'm telling you is, I pass on that number.
I'm like, what are you talking about?
What is that?
I said, man, are you going, we're trying to get my money right, and you giving me these long, drawn-out stories.
He's the only guy that will tell you no and have you laughing that he just told you no.
That's how he is.
He's great at it.
He is absolutely great.
Hall of famer, Michael Irvin, who has had a great broadcasting career.
Jason Garrett's safe, right?
He like Jason's his guy?
He is his guy.
And another thing, people got to understand, too, when we start talking coaches, it's not just about X's and O's on the football field.
It's also about personalities and managing personalities.
You don't hear players coming out of leaving the Dallas Cowboys talking about how much they hate Jason Garrett.
You don't hear that.
And we're getting this everywhere.
Look at what just happened in Green Bay.
You know, look at when Amarie Cooper leaves Oakland and go to Dallas.
There's something went on in Oakland that he didn't want to play for anymore.
It's not just about, we're no longer in the Lombardy-like year.
where coaches have dominion over players.
It's about partnership with players.
How good are you at partnering with these guys
that have got $50 million guarantee
that you cannot cut?
That's important too.
Garrett and Dak get along.
He's good at managing players.
He's good at what he does,
but don't discount his ability at managing players.
Yeah, I don't love the schemes all the time.
Yeah, I knew you wanted to go somewhere with that.
I knew that.
I knew you wanted to go somewhere with that.
with that. That's why I gave it to you the way
I gave it to you. Trust me.
Measure all things, not
just some things, because we are in
the new NFL. You are a step ahead
of me, Michael. I'm just saying, I'm just putting
it out there the right way. It's great seeing you.
It's good seeing you too. You're always welcome on this
show. I appreciate it, buddy. And get
me back here in a few weeks
when them Cowboys are running through the playoffs.
Well, let's slow down a little bit, but I like your
enthusiasm. Michael Irvin. Thank you so much, Joy, with the news.
lose. This is the herd line news. All right, so Amari Cooper's proven to be a fast learner with
the Cowboys, and his second touchdown that briefly put the Cowboys ahead of the Eagles with three
minutes left to go didn't actually go as planned. The score was tied at 16, and the original
play call was for Cooper to run a quick downfield and then turn back to Deck Prescott,
known as a stop route. Well, Cooper didn't like that call, so here's what happened.
That's interesting because I actually had another
stop route on that play and they were, if you was watching, they were like really sitting on those
stop routes, man. And I was like, this is ridiculous. So when I broke the huddle, I was kind of mad and I
like, Dad, come on again. He was like, just running, bro. And I guess he thought about it again.
And he kind of signaled a go route. And I was elated when he did that. And I took off, caught the
ball and scored. You know, Joey, it's interesting. The one thing, you know, Dak has some limitations.
DAC is never afraid to go over the top.
Like a lot of quarterbacks play at say,
Dak likes to throw it deep.
Well, is this kind of a reflection of Scott Linnehan
maybe limiting DAC a little bit?
I think Mike Lervin.
That Amari Cooper is going in the huddle and going to DAC,
like, hey, let's, I mean, no one else is seeing
that they're covering these stop routes
they keep calling for us.
So maybe we just change it up here a little bit.
I don't think schematically, Joy,
this is the best offense in the league.
I think Chicago does more with less.
I think that point you're making is true.
But I also think it's cool that Dak and Amari,
they're on the same.
There's no resentment.
They're on the same.
I just like guys communicating.
Well, huge win anyway.
They're five and one in the six games that they've had Amari.
And they hold a two-game division lead over Philadelphia and Washington now.
So I feel like it was worth that as first round on the first-round pick.
Oh, yeah.
Feels good today.
I think that worked out.
All right.
So, what a great, what a great morning, Colin.
Seven seconds left in Dolphins Patriots game yesterday.
And in Miami, uh, had 69 yards from the end zone.
And it looked like a for sure Pat's win.
And then a miracle happened in Hard Rock Stadium.
Ryan Tannenhill passes to Kenny Stills at midfield.
Stills toss the lateral to DeMonte Parker, who lateral to running back Kenyon Drake.
And then Drake was often running towards the end zone.
Just missed Gronk right at the end there.
And it has been dubbed the Miami miracle.
I don't know if it's truly that important just yet,
but on Miami side anyway,
they got the 34-33 victory.
Here is Drake on the Miami miracle.
I mean, honestly, I'm still sitting before y'all,
and I still don't believe it.
So I just saw it was a grunk in front of me,
and I was just like, look, I got somewhere to be,
so I had to get in the end zone, you know what I mean?
Patriots in December and Miami are a problem.
They're 4 and 16 all time in Miami in December.
Is that right?
Yes, they don't do the winning there.
And this is the fifth loss to Miami in the past six seasons in December.
And it's weird, too.
They had some defensive guys not available.
It's just, I'm kind of beyond explaining it's just their spot they struggle.
I guess, you know, there's always a place where teams play well.
Now, Miami's had a reputation for years in baseball that the last game of a baseball series
always take the home team in Miami over the road team because guys party.
They're last night in Miami.
I don't know if it's the partying or if it's the weather, the humidity.
I was in Miami on Friday night.
The weather wasn't that crazy.
It's not like it was this exhausting, like, sweat bath that you're used to thinking of when you're in the tropics.
But this is an important game because then are now two games behind Kansas City in the race for home field.
Yeah.
And there's only three games left in the season, obviously.
And that's important for the Patriots because New England hasn't won an AFC title game on the road since 2004.
And their own three in away games in the NFL's final.
four in the years since the chiefs have the chargers on Thursday than the Seahawks and the Raiders
and the Patriots have the Steelers who are obviously dealing with their own situation and the
bills and the Patriots. So important game for them to lose. And finally, the Lakers have already
landed one veteran from Phoenix this season and they could be targeting a second now. So they're
reportedly interested in trading for Trevor Arisa. Yeah. Who is potentially a perfect fit
for this team. According to Woj, it would be a three-team trade that would involve Contaguing
Caldwell Pope, but as well as no trade can be made official until December 15.
This is actually, this is actually brilliant because Pope doesn't fit the Lakers and he's expensive.
Areza is a veteran player who LeBron likes and can hit a three and his contract runs out.
Well, they're both on one-year deals.
Contavia's Colopopopop is a $12 million deal and Arisa is a $15 million deal.
Areza in the short term actually fits this team where I don't know,
don't think Pope works. When I, when I watch the Lakers, there's just not a spot I trust Pope.
Phoenix desperately needs shooters. The Lakers could use another forward with a little veteran,
a little teeth. Here's the problem, though. Contavius Caldwell Pope has veto power. He's de facto
and no trade clause because he would have to give up his early bird rights if you were traded
by the Lakers before the deadline. And he's represented by Clutch Sports. And Clutch Sports and
son's ownership got into big arguments. He did arguments over Eric Bledso, and then they
immediately removed all clutch players and coaches. Does he want to score or not? He's not going to
play in the Lakers. Phoenix is the last resort for any clutch represented player. So in order
for this to happen, it would have to be a three-way team trade if it involves Contagate's
Skobo Pope. So if the Lakers really want only Arisa. Listen, Trevor Arisa is a catch-and-shoot
dude. He's the opposite of
Carmelo, who we were rumored
last week was he was going to
Lakers. Here's what's funny. Carmelo was the
rumor. Trevor Arise's the opposite
of Carmelo, plays defense, catch and shoot
guy. Oh, no, I don't disagree. It would
be a great fit. He's a great
team guy. We saw how important he was
for Houston now that he's not there and he's
with Phoenix. I definitely think it would be a great fit.
It's just going to take some movement because there's
obviously some other issues
involved. Thank you, Joy. Joy Taylor
with the news. Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.
The herd line news.
Coming up next, the Cowboys have become the optical illusion of the NFL.
Are you sure you're seeing what you're seeing?
That's next, Colin Wright, Colin Wrong, top of hour number two.
It's the herd.
Coming up next hour, Winston Moss, the Green Bay Packer coach, who came out and said,
people have to hold Aaron Rogers and everybody accountable.
And then a couple hours later, Green Bay Packers let him go.
he'll be joining us live next hour on the Green Bay situation,
which they played their best game of the year yesterday,
fairly predictable.
So we have some Packer stuff, some Steeler stuff, some Patriot stuff.
Let me get back to the Cowboys,
highest rated game in the NFL last year.
That game yesterday will get a bigger number and more viewers
than the average of the Eastern and Western Conference finals in the NBA.
Massive game, the NFL remains.
King by a mile in this country and there's nothing even close to it.
But the Cowboys have become the NFL's optical illusion.
Here's what I'm seeing.
I'm seeing a very limited quarterback.
They're winning close games at home.
They have to win a certain way.
Their offensive line is now injured and depleted.
And if you look at point differential, and that's a real thing of the division leaders in
the NFL, the Cowboys are not only eight out of eight,
they're half of number seven Pittsburgh.
I mean, this is a team that is squeaking by five-game winning streak,
two barely over the average Philadelphia Eagles.
They're just, they have got to win a certain way.
So that's what I'm seeing.
But again, they're an optical illusion.
Cowboy fans are saying, we have the best running back in football.
We have the hottest number one ride receiver in football.
We have, we're clutch.
We win all these close games.
We have an unbelievable front seven.
We have the best two young linebacking core in the NFL, which you do.
So you can see both things here.
Glass half full, half empty.
I see limitations, close wins, all at home, win a certain way,
offensive lines amass, and your point differential, which is a factor.
Generally, the Super Bowl entrance have big point differential numbers like the Saints do this year,
the Bears do this year.
But I will say this.
You can win a Super Bowl the way Dallas is doing it.
Denver did a couple years ago with Peyton Manning,
where Peyton at times was a liability,
where you wanted to limit the throws of an old Peyton Manning,
and they had a kicker who made kicks,
and they won a bunch of close games,
and they had a great defense.
Now, the difference there, Denver had home field advantage in the playoffs,
Dallas is going to have to pack it up, get in a plane, and play on the road.
So there's a way to do this, and it's been done recently, but Denver got to play at home as a number one seat, and Dallas is not.
The other thing about Dallas, which is alarming, which is bizarre, everybody would acknowledge Dallas's defense is really good.
You can't deny that.
I mean, I would say if they had a number one pick, they need a tight end.
They'd probably go back to offense.
Their defense is set.
They got a lot of good players.
But their point differential is zero.
Their turnover differential is zero.
Now think about that.
Think about how good the Cowboys defense is
and how safe they generally throw it.
Their turnover differential is zero,
meaning DAC fumbles a lot,
deck fumbles a lot,
and with a defense that good,
like the Bears, like the Ravens,
you should have a great turnover differential.
You should be winning the turnover battle
every single week, and Dallas isn't.
The DAC fumble issue is not going away.
They are very limited, although they do try to throw it over the top.
They're fairly limited because of DAC's accuracy over the top.
So it depends on what you want to see with Dallas.
Denver won a Super Bowl this way,
but Denver's turnover differential was way better
because that was the year that, you know, Peyton,
they were basically limiting what he could do
and Denver at home field through the playoffs.
The other thing that I noticed yesterday that I think is a real thing.
The last, let's shift to the Steelers and the Patriots.
When dynasties end, there's usually two big factors.
Number one, your superstars, Tim Duncan, get old.
They just get old.
Shaq, Kobe, break up.
That's the second way.
So the first way dynasties end are as your superstar gets old.
Brady's getting old, Ben's getting old,
Shaq gets old.
The other way they end is egos.
You get tired of each other.
Shaq and Kobe got tired of each other.
Belotech Brady has a lot of egos, you know.
And I think what we're watching is the two AFC dynasties,
the Steelers and the Patriots, of the last 10 Super Bowls in the AFC,
they've won seven of them.
Okay, they've won.
So these are kind of the royal families, right?
these are the royal families in the AFC
and I think they're coming to an end
and I think they may have one left.
Pittsburgh yesterday
I don't even know exactly what happened
but from the story
Big Ben was healthy and ready to play
but wasn't playing
because Mike Tomlin wanted to stay with Josh Dobbs
who was four for nine with a pick
and then when Big Ben came back in
he immediately drove him down for a touchdown, this franchise is completely, absolutely addicted
to drama.
This is one of the two royal families in the AFC.
They can't get out of the way.
Lavian Bell, they get him out of town, right?
He's the problem.
No, he's not.
No, he's not.
Big Ben, Tomlin, I don't know who to blame anymore.
But this is how dynasties end.
Superstars get old.
and you have this general annoyance, irritants of personalities.
Big Ben and Tomlin, I can't even figure them out.
Then you go to New England.
At the end of the first half, not only did Belichick and Brady have a bad off season,
but Brady screwed up the clock, basically took a sack, eliminated a field goal.
That was a mess.
Brady admitted later I forgot the clock.
And then at the end of the game, situationally, they had grunk on.
the field. Like, that's just not New England. Situationally, twice yesterday, they were abysmal.
Brady takes a sack. Then at the end of the game, what is Grong doing on the field?
Well, they're thinking they're going to throw a Hail-Aid. And he's tall.
They're 70 yards away. It's not like at the 50 where you need Gronk size.
I'm saying that's why they had him out there. So I just see the Steelers and the Patriots,
these royal families in the AFC. I think it's coming to an end. I think it's coming to a close.
Colin right, calling wrong. Next.
Hour two, here we go.
This is the herd.
Wherever you may be and however you may be listening live in Los Angeles,
Iheart Radio, Fox Sports Radio, and FS1.
Colin Wright, Colin Wrong in five minutes.
Three minutes, excuse me.
Also Winston Moss, a Packers coach a week ago,
no longer a Packers coach, some thoughts on Green Bay.
Aaron Rogers played his best game of the year yesterday as Mike McCarthy leaves.
That's coming up here in 15 minutes.
Joy Taylor is joining me for hour number two.
We have breaking news, Joy.
That's what we do around here. Big J journalism.
Big J. Journalism.
The Raiders have fired Reggie McKenzie, their general manager.
John Gruden came in with a 10-year contract.
It's officially his franchise.
They got rid of Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper.
Those were Reggie McKenzie guys.
Derek Carr's next.
There's rumors John Gruden's getting rid of him.
This is John's franchise.
He's been getting rid of Reggie McKenzie lower draft pick since he got there.
It's a power move.
Once you gave a 10-year contract and that kind of money
to a head coach, which is unheard of in the NFL.
Belichick doesn't have that kind of contract.
Gruden, it's his franchise.
It's on him going forward.
Kaleel Mack and Amari Cooper, by the way, are having sensational years.
So I don't think it looks great for John Gruden that the two guys he gave up on are leading
their division.
Khalil Mack with the Bears, who was great last night, and Amari Cooper for the Cowboys,
who was great last night.
But the Raiders are officially, like we already knew it, John Gruden's franchise.
guys, they have whacked, and by the way, I don't think it's a coincidence.
They whack the general manager after they beat the Steelers.
So John's feeling pretty good about himself today.
John's got a lot of power.
John's saying, I told you so.
My way is working.
I just beat the Steelers.
They walk in fire Reggie McKenzie.
That's the way the world works.
Ten-year contracts.
Watch out.
Stay out of the way of people with ten-year contracts.
Because in sports, that is, I mean, LeBron doesn't have a ten-year contract.
That is power.
All right, here we go on a Monday.
Where Colin was right, where Colin was wrong.
Where Colin was right?
Blazing five rebounds.
We had a four in one week, had a chance to go five and O, which I do maybe once every other year.
I took the bears to upset the Rams.
I like the Niners over Denver, dolphins in Green Bay.
We are 39, 29, and 2, so we're getting closer to 59, 60%, which is always our goal.
It was a very good week for us in sports picks.
where Colin was wrong.
Patrick Mahomes is now completing no-look passes.
Patrick Mahomes is going to win the most valuable player award,
and he's probably going to win it by a landslide.
It's not that I don't like him.
It's that I thought he was a little raw to college.
Andy Reid kept texting me, watch out.
This kid is different.
You're going to see.
But I also like his maturity.
There has been a ton of hype around this young man, really mature.
By the way, had to deal with the Kareem Hunt situation, was a total leader, very mature.
He's got a lot of those DAC qualities I like, a lot of those Andrew Luck qualities I like.
There's a lot of humility here.
And do I think Andy Reid deserves a lot of this credit?
Do I love Andy Reid?
Yes.
But Patrick Mahomes is now making no look passes, and he is a transcendent talent.
There's just certain players who can do stuff nobody else can.
I like Carson Wentz. He looks when throwing. I mean, Patrick's a special kid.
Where Colin was right?
Well, we love the Amari Cooper deal. We said Dallas needs a receiver. It's now a receiver's league.
Let's just do it. And I got to be honest, he's been terrific. And it feels like he's getting better every week.
And Dak is the kind of quarterback. He's not going to throw guys open. He's got to throw the guys that are open.
And I always liked Amari Cooper. He was a great high school player.
He was a number one high school receiver in the country.
Then he was a great college player.
He was a hell of an NFL player in Oakland.
And then he had, you know, kind of a rough year in Oakland.
Well, guess what?
It's toxic there.
Environment matters.
Amari Cooper, three touchdowns, over 200 yards, 10 catches,
has always been an excellent player.
And excellent players are worth number one picks.
Where Colin was wrong.
Now, I would not have taken Sequin Barclay with a number two pick
because I thought the Giants needed a quarterback.
But I got to give this kid respect.
He's been a workhorse.
He's been terrific.
He's probably going to win the rookie of the year.
And you know what?
He's exactly what he was in college.
He was a home run hitter in college who got you about five and a half yards of carry.
And you could give him the ball 20 times.
And in one Giants game this year, he took the ball 27 times.
13 touchdowns, nine rushing, four receiving.
I thought he was going to be more Reggie Bush.
I thought he was going to do a bunch of this stuff, a bunch of home runs.
But you can't give him the ball 20 times.
He's just too small.
But the NFL right now is more wide open.
There are more teams in the NFL playing what they call nickel and dime packages,
meaning you're getting tackled by small corners now more than ever, not big linebackers.
And Sequin Barclay, I would have taken a quarterback,
but you can't deny this if you're a Giants fan.
He has absolutely added a dynamic that was not available in the draft.
And I like the other running backs.
He's been special.
Where Colin was right?
I said about a month ago,
I like the Rams, but this team's kind of, this team's got issues.
They're kind of turning L.A. soft.
I think you can run against them.
I think they're good when they're comfortable, but when it got a little noisy in New Orleans, they folded.
When it got a little noisy last year in Minnesota it folded.
When it got a little cold in Chicago, they folded.
And I thought Matt Nagy's offense, I think they're doing more in Chicago with less talent in Los Angeles.
And don't get me wrong, I think they're a really good football team.
But I said this about a month ago.
I watch every snap, and they've got holes on this team.
They got a lot of front-line stars like Indomac and Sue and Akib D'Lebe,
but they don't have a lot of depth.
I think they really miss wide receiver Cooper Cup.
I think they overpaid for wide receiver Brandon Cooks,
who I think is good, but Sean Peyton and Bill Belichick let him go for a reason.
He kind of disappears in big spots.
The Rams are good, they're not great.
We were right on that.
Where Colin was wrong.
Listen, Baker and the Browns are 5, 7 and 1, 3rd place.
let's not go crazy here, okay? Pittsburgh and Baltimore are the two best teams in their division.
But I was very critical of John Dorsey, the general manager.
I said, I wouldn't take Baker one. I wouldn't have taken a corner. I got to tell you,
Baker's been productive. Denzel Ward was inactive yesterday, but he's had a great rookie year at corner.
And I did love Nick Chubb, the running back. Their top three Bicks have been absolutely great.
Now, they took a receiver, Antonio Calloway 4, he's hot and cold.
but the first three picks, I disagreed strongly with two of their first three picks,
and they've both been super productive players.
Listen, man, if you can bring a kid off out of college and he can be, win you games,
that's a good pick.
It may not be my pick, but John Dorsey deserves an apology.
I was wrong.
He did a really good job.
He went and got good players who are winning games.
Where Colin was right?
I don't know if you've rest.
you bailed on Andrew Luck. I don't know if you noticed that Andrew Luck pretty much single-handedly
ended the Texans nine-game winning streak. Folks, Frank Reich and Andrew Luck,
and you can give credit to whoever you want, T.Y. Hilton, Andrew Luck is spectacular. Just
absolutely spectacular. And Frank Reich has come in with his team, and he's been so smart with
Andrew Luck. A lot of quick dropbacks gets rod of the ball very quickly. You know,
Andrew's going to throw interceptions because he takes chances.
But the rest of the world bailed on this football team,
and I told you a month ago, I said,
keep your eye on the Colts.
This is an offensive league.
They're not gifted defensively,
but they play their arse off defensively.
And in two games against Houston,
luck's got 865 yards and six touchdowns.
Where Colin was wrong.
I've always felt Harbaugh's going back to the NFL.
And I told you,
last week, I had a source that said he's putting feelers out there, but Jim Harbaugh
squished it immediately and said, hey, how come that rumor comes up every year during
recruiting season?
I'm not going anywhere.
I'm staying at Michigan.
We got big plans here.
And it sounds like Jim Harbaugh's not going anywhere.
And I do love the fact that he came out and he said, hey, I'm going to put my name on
this thing.
So if he does leave, we can hold him to it.
When coaches don't talk and say no comment to this stuff.
You know what they're saying.
I want out.
Harbaugh put his name on it.
I'm staying.
I got big plans here.
I'm not going anywhere.
People are trying to use this.
That is putting your name on it.
And I've always felt he's leaving Michigan eventually.
So Harbaugh props to him.
And for the record, college football needs more characters.
I like crazy people.
College football needs crazy people.
And Carbaugh is a little crazy, so I think he's good for college football.
Colin was right?
Oh, when the Sixers put Jimmy Butler with Joel N. B and Ben Simmons, I said, they're going to be
interesting, they're going to be fun, they're going to be, but there's a lot of egos here.
And this thing is going to be combustible.
Well, Joe L.M.B's already come out and said, I don't like the way I'm being used.
I'm being used as a spacer, a stretch five.
That's why I'm only shooting 29%.
Seems like the last couple of games are set up.
Has me starting on the perimeter frustrates me.
my body feels great.
I'm not playing well.
Well, what do you know?
They've been together two weeks.
And it's already combustible.
Again, I like the move because I think men, not boys, when in this league.
I like the grown-ups and the veterans and the Trevor Rees and the Jimmy Butler's.
I like veteran players, not kids.
But it is already predictably combustible in Philadelphia.
Where Colin was right?
Well, we predicted.
Remember this Joy Friday, I said.
My lead Friday on the show was Aaron Rogers.
Oh, yeah, for sure.
He's going to play his best.
of the year. Aaron hears everything. Aaron has rabbit ears. Aaron's amazing. But I said,
if Mike McCarthy leaves and Aaron and the Green Bay Packers look great, it's kind of a
passive aggressive message that, see, I told you so, we got the problem out of town here
with Mike McCarthy. Now, I don't think the problem is solely Mike McCarthy. I'm not saying that.
I think Aaron can be, you know, Aaron's great, but he can be difficult. But this was, I don't
bet a lot on a lot of games.
Mama getting a present tonight.
Well, this was a for sure reaction, too.
Anytime that a team fires their coach,
there's always that surge of emotion afterwards also in any sport.
So let's see some consistency with this.
But yeah, this was, you definitely called it.
Colin Wright, Colin Wrong on a Monday.
Coming up next, speaking to Aaron Rogers, Mike McCarthy,
Winston Moss, former Miami Hurricane, by the way,
played on one of the great college defense.
of all time. I won a national title there,
won a Super Bowl coaching on that Green Bay Packer
team. You know, he knows
all about the Green Bay culture.
McCarthy gone, Aaron Rogers
Stang, Aaron new contract, looking for a new
coach, and Winston Moss will join us
and have some thoughts on what happened, what's
happening going forward.
That's coming up. Chris Carter, too, this hour.
Thursday night football returns this week for a huge
AFC West showdown. It's Phillip Rivers and the
10 and 3 chargers, face off against Patrick
Mahomes and the 11 and 2 first play
Chiefs. It all starts at 730 Eastern on Fox NFL Network and streaming on Prime Video.
I don't think Andy Reid's ever lost to the Chargers since he's been a coach of the Chiefs.
He absolutely, sometimes coaches have a team's number. Belichick's done well against Tomlin.
Andy Reid has owned the Chargers. He has owned them and I love Andy.
Winston Moss, a former great player played for over a decade in the NFL and was the associate
head coach of the Green Bay Packers a couple of weeks ago. Mike McCarthy is out.
You put a tweet out Winston a couple of days ago. I didn't, I thought it was
totally inoffensive, didn't bother me.
Thought it was a stand-up guy.
I think most of your tweets are always kind of positive,
and you're kind of a positive guy.
Absolutely.
You were let go about an hour and a half after this.
Were you surprised by the overreaction?
Most definitely.
I felt as though it was taken out of context.
I felt as though the biggest issue I had was not being able to fully address it
either with the decision-making.
either with my teammates.
I didn't have a chance to even say even goodbye to the fellow coaches.
And so that's the only sore spot.
That's the only regret I have.
I don't have a regret about the tweet.
What you said doesn't bother you.
What I said doesn't bother me.
But not being able to clear the air at least within the organization and with the players,
that bothers me.
Listen, one of the things that people jump to is, hey,
find somebody that's going to hold number 12 and everybody in the building.
Now, you did say everybody in the building, but all of us glom on to number 12.
I have through the years said that what makes Breeze special is there's a leadership DNA with Drew.
I see it with Russell Wilson.
Now, arrogance is okay a little bit, but I do question Aaron Rogers' leadership.
Don't question his talent.
I don't question his passion, Winston.
I don't question his devotion to the sport.
But I'm going to ask a question that may be tough.
Is he a great leader?
Well, first of all, I agree with everything that you said.
And you can look at Drew Brees.
Take, for instance, pregame, you see him getting his teammates up.
You see him rah, rah, rah, rah, rah.
Now that doesn't mean that they're going to go out and play well.
You see Tom Brady.
You see Tom Brady high-fiving his offensive line going down to the defense and say,
hey, defense, give him the ball back, yada, yada, yada, yada.
You see Russell Wilson is so much of a spiritual influence.
He has such an energy about himself.
Yes.
And so with that being said, you take that in comparison to Rogers.
And so.
It's not the same.
Green Bay fans don't kill me on this area.
I got to go back to you guys.
I got to live there.
That's not Aaron Rogers' cup of tea.
And so you can't fault him for it.
You have to embrace every guy individually on an individual basis.
And so if Aaron Rogers chooses not to lead that way, chooses not to lead that way,
can you really fault him?
Do we want him?
to be more of a vocal leader? Absolutely. Absolutely.
But it's not his DNA.
But if that's not his DNA, then you need to find somebody around him
that's going to be able to pick up where he is not lacking in,
but whether he chooses not to be that type of leader
or whether it's not in his DNA,
then we all need to rise up and,
and help him out.
You know, Winston Moss joining us.
Winston,
and I think this happens in a lot of different businesses,
where if you work with somebody that's really talented,
you can take advantage of them.
Could I make the argument that Aaron is so gifted
that Green Bay, the organization,
they really haven't given him a ton of great defenses,
they haven't paid for free agents,
He just now has a running back I love.
Did the organization lean on Aaron a little too much?
I would answer that.
I would come back with you with this.
Ted Thompson has a draft plan.
He has a way of going about his whole draft process.
Brian Gutickers this past year has a draft process.
Now you have to question whether that draft process is
putting the players on the field that is given A-Rod
and the rest of the Green Bay Packers
the best chance to win.
Question the plan.
Like if I was building the Packers,
I would build an offensive line and a defense.
Because to me, if you can keep them to 22,
A-Rod's going to win 13 games a year.
So I would draft a lot of defense
and make sure I protect them.
And they've done that.
But take a look at that.
I don't have any
any kind of stats in front of me.
I don't have laptops.
I don't have these.
Devices.
I don't have the guys in the back on the computers, grinding.
And so you can say that we've drafted defensive players high for the last few years.
Last few years.
And so for whatever reason, are they either paning out?
or are they getting injured?
There's an injury component to it.
And so you can make a case that the Packers are drafting for the defense, but...
It's not working out.
I wouldn't say it's not working out.
And I'm going to take you back to when I got there in 06.
When we got there in 06, there was some talent there,
but the losing was not having.
happening. And so they they brought in McCarthy. And so we we drafted, A.J. Hawk was the first guy
ever drafted by the Packers. We had Nick Barnett. We had Al Harris. I want to say we had
Cullen Jenkins. Our first free agent was Charles Woodson. And you won, by the way. And we were
a dominant defense. Yes, briefly. Well, I'm just saying it didn't last long enough.
I'm being honest.
I've got to get the couple questions I want to get to here.
Oh, no, no, no, no.
I'll let you go on that one, but we'll circle back to that one.
Okay. And so as time went on,
the either we let the players go, we moved on from them.
Or a player missed. And we have, and we haven't replaced them.
Nick Collins.
Yeah, I know.
Bless his heart.
It just didn't work out.
Probo caliber, Provo caliber, Hall of Fame caliber.
Got hurt.
Yeah, I get it.
I understand it.
I understand that.
But you, and so the guys that were drafted...
Didn't work out.
The guys, let me finish.
I know, I got to get to these questions.
Let me finish.
The guys that were drafted were...
Ted is in the grooming philosophy.
Okay, whatever.
And so, no, there's players in place.
Think about it.
when Brett Favre
No, no, no,
no, listen.
You got to deliver players.
Let me finish.
Brett Fav was in,
was not on a decline,
but Brett Favd drafted Aaron
to replace.
Right.
Brett Farr.
Right.
And so he drafts to groom.
And so what happens is you,
now of a sudden you get injuries,
you get guys that are,
and all of a sudden,
those guys that were supposed to be in groom
to be, to blossom into Aaron,
Rogers. Remember,
Go pay for Calil Mac.
Aaron Rogers had three years sitting on the bench,
one year of internship in 08 in which he...
Winston.
You can say you about that.
Go spend money on Khalil Mac.
It's all chatter.
Spend for players.
Green Bay doesn't spend on players.
Now you're talking about one guy now.
Well, no.
By the way, you don't think Omari Cooper one guy, Matt?
It's a Players League.
Go get players.
Aaron hasn't been given good enough players.
Go spend money on play.
Now, I don't want to hear about draft picks.
You've got guys, go get them.
Separate from the fact of our previous discussion.
Separate from the fact of our previous discussion.
Here's what my audience cares about.
Here's what my audience cares about.
Our previous discussion.
Should you have gotten Khalil Mack?
Yes.
Yes.
Okay.
It's a players league.
Go get them.
Go get them.
Okay.
You got Aaron.
You got Aaron Rogers at 34.
Go get him.
He's got four years left.
Go get players.
You got to get players for him.
So, we're not in agreement, but I'll say go get Kalimak.
Okay, couple quick questions.
Okay, Aaron Rogers, bottom line.
Did he get McCarthy fired?
Mark Murphy fired.
He got Mike Murphy fired.
No, Mark Murphy fired.
So Aaron didn't fire him.
So Aaron had nothing to do with it.
Okay.
Will Aaron have staying the next coach?
Like I said yesterday, he should give his input.
He should give, hey,
why don't you guys take a look at yada yada yada yada yada yada but it should still go to the decision
maker it should still default to the decision maker josh mcdainils strong opinion patriot guy
would he fit with erin rogers no no why not why should he what you tell me you give
because erin needs a little push you give me josh mcdainil's resume and tell me why he should
why he's a good fit for he's the best available coordinator on the market he's the he's the
Sean McVeys the Matt Nagy's the best available guy offensively I'm not saying if you want to hire
a defensive guy go he's the best available offensive coach on the market rings titles history
resume no he has billiacek and tom Brady okay so you don't think he's that good I didn't say that
he has he has Tom Brady and bill Belichick all right that's a good answer I'm not knocking your
answer I may not like your defensive answer I don't like your defensive answer I
I like that.
Okay.
I got to go.
We got stuff to do here.
We got Chris Carter.
This is Winston Moss.
You put your name on stuff today, and I love that.
And I like arguing.
I do, too.
All right, Joy, the News.
No, no, no, no.
Turn on the news.
This is the Herdline News.
Oh, the Eagles, they were a little salty after their 29, 23, overtime loss to the Cowboys.
Last night, they were.
It wasn't so much of the Eagles had lost, but how they lost.
A number of calls went against them, including one on the opening kickoff,
when Kamu Gru J. Hill, appeared to recover a fumble by the Cowboys kicker, Jordan Lewis.
Yeah.
Kick returner, I'm sorry, Jordan Lewis.
And the review officials ruled that Grue Jay Hill's recovery wasn't clear,
even though he emerged from the pile with the ball.
That's weird.
So here's Malcolm Jenkins on that ruling.
That was a pretty terrible call, to be honest.
I mean, they reviewed it.
And the explanation I got was that it wasn't a clear recovery,
although Kamu had the ball in his hand
and there was only
you know even defenders on the ball
on the replay
so
whoever's watching that in New York
should stay off the bottom
even though that play call
was very or that call
by the reps was very weird
I don't like when you blame the refs
I don't either
there were situations that went both ways
like you can't be salty
yeah okay but I will say this
the NFL of fishing yesterday, Malik Hooker for the Colts got robbed, Randy Gregory, there was a bad call.
The officiating this weekend stunk, and I think the league misses Dean Blandino.
In the end of the day, the bottom line here is this game's worth billions of dollars.
The officiating yesterday was really bad, and this game had a couple of Randy Gregory.
What in the God's name is Randy Gregory supposed to do on that, Zach?
There's calls that went both ways, for sure.
But DAC also threw two picks and out of fumble.
So like, I mean, at the end of the day, you had an opportunity to win the game.
No, no, I'm saying that.
But there were some officiating blunders yesterday that in big spots were really could have been game changers.
Now, the NFL got lucky the Colts won and the Cowboys won, but there was some really dicey officiating.
And Dean Blandino left in the last two years.
There has been more missed calls in these big national TV games.
This league's worth too much money to have average officials.
Yeah, they have to handle that for sure.
So the Rams lost a tough game to the Bears last night,
and Jared Goff had the worst game of his NFL career thus far.
He completed just 20 of 44 passes and threw for 180 yards.
He also threw four picks.
He had never thrown more than two interceptions in a game before last night,
and this was also the first game of Sean McVeigh's tenure
that did not feature a touchdown.
And after the game, Sean McVeigh called the loss very humbling for him,
which I don't disagree with.
I think that this is part of the reason why you have some issues trusting the Rams.
Yeah, I mean, you know, it's amazing when you take a warm weather team and you put him in...
Mike Tyson had the old quote, Mike Tyson used to say,
everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face.
And I think that the Rams are very good when they're comfortable.
But when you put them in cold weather against the pass rush,
Jared Goff has taken off a spot.
The Rams looked like they were out of source.
I mean, let's be honest about that game.
Nobody for the Rams played well outside of...
I mean, Gurley struggled.
Woods...
I guess Robert Woods was okay.
I mean, Aaron Donald was good.
That was about it.
You know, it's real funny how, you know, now that we're later in the season,
these teams with these great defenses are managing to hold their own against this.
Well, post- Thanksgiving.
Those offenses.
Isn't it amazing when the weather gets cold?
The defenses.
I want the whole football bat.
For the record, Kansas City's got a great offense.
Baltimore pushed them around a little.
Oh, yeah.
The bears pushed the Rams.
By the way, the Cowboys push the Saints.
once the weather gets cold, we're all freaking out about offenses.
Weather gets cold.
You put an offense in warm weather and a dome and cold weather.
What do you know?
The scores come down.
Well, they also sacrificed first place to the Saints last night.
So they have the Eagles next, then the Cardinals, and the 49ers.
And the Saints have the Panthers twice and also play the Steelers.
So that race in the NFC just got a little bit tighter.
Finally, the Panthers lost to the Browns yesterday.
It dropped six and seven, their fifth straight loss.
And after the game, Cam Newton was asked if it would benefit his
obviously ailing right shoulder to sit the last three weeks.
He said no comments, kind of a little pause, and then he said this.
It's extremely frustrating, you know, coming up short each and every week with similar settings
and not, you know, kind of pushing through.
And I wish I had the words to say, but, you know, I don't.
You know, in this league, you know, that's just what it always comes down to, you know, find a way.
to keep the game closer just to win late in the game,
and we just haven't found that way to win in those situations.
Now, in fairness to Cam, Cam's dealing with an injury.
Now, just in fairness to Cam, Cam's had an injury for three weeks.
I watched that game yesterday.
Cam struggled.
Cam Newton struggled yesterday.
Baker Mayfield was the significantly better quarterback in that game yesterday for big chunks of it.
Well, it's a huge win for Baker Mayfield also.
I mean, like the Panthers, I think we got excited about Cam for a while because he had some consistency there.
And now that's gone away.
I mean, he is playing through injury.
But at the end of the day, like a lot of guys played through injury.
That's part of the game.
If you're out there, you've got to perform.
No, I get that.
But when I'm watching Cam, I literally texted two buddies last night.
I was watching that game yesterday.
Cam, even when he was cranking it up, he did not have the velocity.
Something's wrong with Cam physically.
And by the way, I've been very critical at Cam.
something's not right with him physically in the last three weeks.
Against Tampa Bay, it was beyond like misreading a defense.
Something is wrong with him physically.
And by the way, I could bring out the hammer today because he just lost to a rookie
and Baker was way better.
But Cam's not.
You can see the difference.
There is something wrong with him physically.
Joy Taylor with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.
The herd lie news.
All right, Chris Carter's around the corner.
You know, for years and years, Joy, you've been on this show.
I used to call wide receivers icing not cake.
You were very tough on wide receivers.
I've been very tough on wide receivers, but it's almost like in the NBA,
where it used to be about centers and tough guys, and now it's all about shooters.
Steve Kerr would have been a bench guy.
Forever was a bench guy.
If Steve Kerr played today, he'd be a go-to guy.
Steve Kerr would be incredibly valuable today much more than a center because he can shoot.
Kyle Corver's a marginal athlete.
In the NBA, people want Kyle Corver.
Same thing in the NFL.
I've never been a huge fan of receivers.
I like him, but I wouldn't build my team around him.
I'm watching Amari Cooper yesterday.
I'm watching Tyreek Hill yesterday.
I got to be honest with you.
You've got to pay wide receivers now.
You've got to pay wide receivers now in this league.
The rules have changed.
NFL changed two rules.
Number one, they flip the catch rule.
The no catch is now a catch.
And the other thing is you can't hit a wide receiver
before he catches the ball, as Michael Irvin said.
So wide receivers now, they all have courage.
Everybody goes over the middle now.
It used to be in the NFL my entire life.
Nobody went over the middle unless you were like a big Michael Irvin guy, Calvin Johnson.
Everybody goes over the middle now.
You can't hit anybody.
So the rules have changed in the NBA.
I want a 6-5 shooter over a 7-5 shot blocker.
And in the NFL, I need receivers.
I mean, it used to be a wide receiver free agent like Mike Walls to the Dolphins, never panned out.
Right.
Now you can bring Amari Cooper in, and two weeks later, he's transformed the offense.
So Chris Carter comes up next.
He's going to give me a bunch of crap because he's a wide receiver in Hall of Famer.
And I've been rolling my eyes at wide receivers forever.
That's next in the herd.
Be sure to catch live editions of the herd weekdays in noon Eastern, 9 a.m. Pacific on Fox Sports Radio, FS1, and the IHeard Radio app.
Right, welcome back. Chris Carter was on first things first this morning, firing shots at me because wide receivers are now amazing.
Here's a tape from the show this morning. It's funny.
You got a guy mentoring you.
a guy named Colin Calhurt, and you listen to him.
But he put this thing in your head that he always got this.
What are white receivers?
What do he say?
Once in a time, he said wide receivers are icing, not the cake.
You tell me some fool that's eating cake with no icing on it.
Just let me know that, Colin Cowhert.
I know you're sitting somewhere right now talking to yourself.
That is true.
Asking questions.
He's driving into work right now talking to himself.
Right receivers are more than just icing.
Well, I mean, listen, as I said a second ago, we've got some rule changes in the NFL, and they're really valuable.
And, I mean, there's no getting around it.
Amari Cooper, I thought he was worth the number one pick.
If you had told me he's going to have a three touchdown, 10-catch, 200-yard game, I would not have believed it.
Is Chris Carter ready yet?
I mean, it's been, the Dallas situation's been pretty amazing.
Is it Amari?
Here's the other thing about what's happening in the NFL.
You're as good as your coach.
Baker Mayfield now has a coach, a young offensive coordinator that is really good.
I hope if Cleveland hires a new football coach, they let Baker Mayfield have this Freddie Kitchen because it's working.
All right.
Chris Carter Hall of Famer via the Coward Global Satellite Network.
Chris, great to have you on.
Let's start with this.
Are even you surprised by how influential Amari's been?
I'm not surprised at all. I say it all the time.
99% of all the guys in this league, the NFL, they're either created by some type of system.
Those coaches run offensively, defensively, the return game, and or the coaching that they are able to get.
Colin, one thing that I learned from you amongst many things was when I was in the process of transitioning from one network to the other one, the network executives came to you.
and asked, hey, Colin, what do you think about Chris Carter?
There's some stuff out there that people were saying about.
Collins like, that stuff's not true.
You guys just don't know him.
I know him really well.
He's well connected.
He'll work well.
And with the system we run here at FS1 and Fox, I believe that he'll thrive,
just like you've thrived since you made the change.
Skip made the change.
Shannon has thrived because they go about it a different way.
Amari is a learned person.
He was coached at a high level at Alabama.
and he's a sponge to coaching.
He has been good in this league,
but after the first two years,
people caught on to his route running,
and he wasn't necessarily a deep threat.
So people started, they had a hook on him,
and then he lost his confidence.
And then here comes John Gruden,
and he wants to make changes,
so he decides that I don't have confidence in Amari Cooper.
Yeah, he's talented, but I believe he might be better off somewhere else.
It's like a lot of people.
You need to be able to find the right system,
the right type of blood,
give you life and give you the type of energy that can go about your business. And how the Dallas
Cowboys went about acquiring Amari is they look back to Nick Sabin where he was successful. And they
called Nick, Jerry and his son. And they got the whole coaching staff. And Colin, you're going to be
amazed by the number of coaches, Scott Lanahan has a relationship with Nick Saban from his Miami
day. Jason Garrett has a relationship with Nick Savan from his Miami days. The tight end coach,
the new coach, because Dallas hired seven new coaches this offseason.
So it was going to be, these coaches were going to work and help these players,
or Jason Garrett was going to lose his job.
Doug Musmire, the tight-in coach was the offensive coordinator and the quarterback coach at Alabama.
And Sanjay Lau is one of the best wide receiver coaches.
He was coaching with the Colts last year.
And I know through Coach Pagano, who's a good friend of mine, hey, Chris, he's one of the best
teachers in the league.
So when Amari arrived on the scene in Dallas, it wasn't about, hey,
all this stuff happened in Oakland.
It was like, no, I believe you're an elite talent.
You should be a pro bowl receiver,
and I believe there's two or three things I can add to your game.
You have elite speed, but you don't play fast.
We've got to get you playing fast,
and you have to affect the deep part of the field.
So those were some things that Sanjay Lau,
when he got Amari Cooper,
that he was going to try to attack and add to his game.
Amari, as you saw in the interview last night with Aaron
Andrews after the game, he's lit up like a Christmas tree.
I mean, people want to be appreciated.
People want to be coached, but given a plan, all players aren't meant for all system.
Just like we have the system at FS1 and Fox, it doesn't, all broadcasters aren't going to
be able to thrive the way that we have been able to bring other talent over and they've thrived
under this system.
I only got about three minutes left.
I want you to comment on the Rams and the Chicago Bears because we're running late today.
I said the Rams are good when they're comfortable.
give them a little noise in New Orleans,
give them a little cold weather in Chicago.
Chris, I think this team has peaked.
I think they peaked about a month ago.
I think people have caught on to them.
What do you make of the Rams last night?
I don't think they've peaked.
And losing the game late in December to a great defense in Chicago,
that's a tough place to play.
Man, even when they weren't good, they were tough to beat there.
They have elite defenders on all levels.
So it was a good matchup in cold weather.
Man, if you take them out to the Coliseum or a neutral field,
I'm going to take the Rams.
What you have to realize, it's hard to build the team through free agency in the NFL.
So I do believe if these veteran players make some adjustments to last four or five games,
they'll peek out in the playoffs compared to peaking out right now.
I think the Rams are going to be okay.
By the way, you've seen dynasties.
They usually end when superstars get old like a Tim Duncan.
You watch New England.
Four ugly losses this year.
They weren't even good situationally, Chris, yesterday.
does it feel like to you with your experience that New England dynasty is just hanging by a thread
and it may be over?
Well, they're going to be in competition.
If you look at where the AFC is right now, if they say the number two C, Colin, if you tell me
New England can't go to Kansas City and beat them after they struggled yesterday with
Baltimore, I got a little bit of money sitting around and I'm going to bet that on New England.
I don't think the season's over for them, but they are not on the uptick.
They do not have enough explosive players.
I think they've had 33 receivers since this offseason in the building, and Rob Grankowski is getting old.
He's a shell of himself, and it affects how they play football.
By the way, I'd like to semi-apologize here.
All these rule changes, wide receivers have become shooters in the NBA.
I grew up with centers.
Now you've got to be a shooter.
I've got to be honest.
I would draft half of these teams in the NFL.
I think I'd take a wide receiver first now.
So I owe you a big icing apology.
Oh, Colin, that's big of you.
But you're right.
And I'm serving of the rules, not only NBA, free-flowing,
lack of contact, and in the NFL,
you don't have to be physically dominant.
You don't have to have the mental that Michael Irvin talked about.
Yes, but the game is still aesthetically pretty,
wide receivers are more valuable than ever.
And nothing changed, Colin.
thought the rule changes, but it's just like, man, cake's always been valuable. No one eats a cake
without icing, all right? You were just a fool. Think that's all, man, white receiver's just
icy. Okay. I seen it's nothing without a cake and cake is nothing without icing. So I got a little
gift from you. These come from, these are from Baker Mayfield. These are, these are, I got these
in Cleveland. These are from Chris Carter and Baker Mayfield. I hope you, and you see this? Yep.
We're more than icing.
I know J.T. Joy, I know you like a cupcake with some icing.
Colin, you can't live without us, all right?
Good try.
And by the way, I watched you yesterday in the Browns, Carolina.
We got a run, but that was fun.
It was a great broadcast and Baker's playing with, as you mentioned several times,
a ton of confidence.
And congrats to you and your show, buddy.
Thanks for coming on.
Oh, thank you, man.
Thank you for the advice and bringing me over, man.
It's like a Mari Cooper.
You get me a second life.
We are a good route runner.
That's what it is.
You and Amari Cooper.
No, I did watch, everybody thinks I hate Baker.
Sam Darnold had a great second half.
Lamar Jackson's 3-1.
Baker played very well.
Listen, I've said it before.
Baker throws the ball too accurately and with too much confidence to be a bust.
Nobody's ever said Baker's going to be a bust.
I think he's a better version of Case Keenham.
I do not think he's Russell Wilson, which you kept telling me.
I said, he ain't Russell Wilson, the athlete.
He's not Drew Brees.
Drew Breeze has got the most unique DNA on the planet.
But Baker can play.
Baker can play.
Baker can make throws.
I don't want to be tied to some of the nonsense and the cockiness.
I'm not into that.
I want Russell.
I want Andrew Luck.
I want Carson Wentz.
But I watched the entire game yesterday.
Right now this morning, Baker Mayfield is a better, more accurate thrower of the football than Cam Newton was yesterday.
There's no question yesterday.
Now, I think Cam's messed up physically.
I kept saying it over and over.
Baker's too accurate a thrower to be a bust.
I don't think he's what you think he's going to be.
But he can win football games.
Case Keenham wins football games.
And he's a better version of Case Keenham.
It's The Herd.
Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd weekdays in noon Eastern 9 a.m. Pacific.
Ah, this is The Hurd Hour number three live in Los Angeles,
wherever you may be and however you may be listening.
Iheart Radio, Fox Sports Radio, and FS1.
Joy Taylor is joining me. Tony Gonzalez in five minutes.
You know, it's so funny about, you know, fans just crack me up.
They get so crazy.
Like, everybody loves, like, Baltimore with Lamar Jackson running around.
Lamar Jackson got hurt at the end of yesterday's game.
That's why I say with Lamar, it's fun.
How sustainable is it?
Everybody loves Mitch Trubisky.
Oh, my God, the Bears.
Give me a break.
It's a one-reed offense.
Like, don't, it's overreaction Monday in the NFL.
Every Monday, everybody freaks out.
Oh, my God, oh, my God.
What about Mitch Trubisky?
What about him?
It's a one-reed offense.
It's a college offense.
Chris Collinsworth for three and a half hours, one of the nicest guys in our business was dropping a hammer on him as nicely as you could, saying basically, well, basically it's a one-reed-offense.
And Trubisky was awful for most of the game.
He's a totally limited quarterback.
By the way, nothing against Lamar Jackson.
I don't think that's sustainable.
He's already been hurt twice running around.
Carson Wentz was the best quarterback on that field last night.
Just know that you forgot about Andrew Luck, too.
You buried Andrew Luck.
He's back and healthy.
He's unbelievable.
Carson Wentz is a mega talent.
He's a once-in-a-decade talent.
He'll be fine when you get him a running back, a deep threat, O-Lines healthy, and a coach is right.
Offensive coordinator's right.
Five minutes, Tony Gonzalez stops by.
Best for last.
We're doing every NFL game in three words as we do every Monday.
All right, let's start with this, though.
The Cowboys, it was the highest-readed TV game of the year in the NFL.
Eagles yesterday in overtime, baby. So I'm going to start with Dak Prescott. A source told me
this weekend, somebody very close to Jerry Jones told me this weekend. Jerry loves Dak,
because he has saved the franchise. Tony Romo gets hurt. They go into a tank. They win three
games. Dak saves the franchise. Zekeel Elliott Mess. Dak steps in, handles it. Desbriant
exit. Dak stands in, handles it. The National Anthem Controvers.
Who was the player standing next to Jerry with his hand and his heart?
Dak Prescott.
Jerry feels this young man is the future of the franchise.
Let's just deal in facts.
As a personality, Dak Prescott's an A-plus.
His intangibles are off the charts.
He's tough.
He always says the right thing.
That controversy for the national anthem did not make him beloved.
A lot of players pushed back on that,
and Dak didn't care.
Dak was there for his owner.
He's handled the Zeke mess, the Desmas, the anthem controversy, this kid's personality,
I wish Johnny Mansell would have paid attention to it.
Sometimes I wish Baker Mayfield would pay attention to it.
Perfect personality.
So let's deal in facts.
He is great.
He is off the charts of intangibles.
That's A.
Let's go to the B.
Dak is pretty average.
Accuracy, not great.
Consistency doesn't really have any.
arm okay size average pocket awareness bad fumble problem hideous he's an average
he's an average quarterback last night they had the ball for 45 minutes that's almost unheard of in the
NFL that was over twice as long as the Eagles he was 42 of 54 they averaged eight yards
of play and they needed overtime at home with their defense the Saints
had that same box score against Philadelphia, beaten by 40.
I mean, that game should never have been this close.
Can you imagine even Carson Wentz that running back and that defense?
So let's deal in facts.
Intangibles, leadership, personality, DAC is an A-plus.
Talent is a quarterback.
He ain't top 15 in this league.
So let's get to see.
And this is the most important.
Self-awareness.
DAC has shown incredible self-awareness.
Because if you're a cowboy fan this morning, you're happy,
but you want this puppy to last, right?
You want this puppy to last for 15 years.
Football is really fun when you win for 15 years.
Ask Patriot fans.
Ask Steeler fans.
Ask mostly Packer fan.
It's fun when you win for 15 years.
And you want this puppy to last.
So A intangible is great.
B, talent average.
Does C.
Let's deal in fast.
Dax. Dak needs a lot of help to win. He needs a great running back, not a good one. He needs a great defense. Not a good one. He needs a great pass rush. He needs to be at home a lot. The games are going to be off and low scoring and close. Dack needs a lot of help. And Dack can keep that help if he has the self-awareness to say, pay me $21 million a year, not $28. Because once again, Dax's going to win a division. Once again, Dax's the Dallas Cowboy Quarter.
back. If you look at Dax's wins, they're right up there with Breeze, they're right up there
with Brady, they're right up there with Ben. He's going to be able to get $28 million.
Does Dack, and I believe he does, have the self-awareness to know, I'm not Russell Wilson,
I'm not Andrew Luck. I need help. I am winning close games in overtime when I have the ball for
45 minutes. I have seen lack of self-awareness derail incredible athletes, Carmelo Anthony.
I have seen lack of self-awareness and careers with promise. Johnny Mansell.
If we're dealing in facts here, the greatest gift Dak Prescott has is not size,
arm feet intangibles. It is self-awareness. Dallas should have blown Philadelphia out of the
stadium last night.
They had the ball for over twice as long.
They averaged almost seven yards of play.
They had the significantly better defense.
The best wide receiver.
The best running back.
They were at home.
Everything went Dallas's way.
And they needed that tip thing at the end to Amari to capture it.
So I think this thing can last.
And I'd feel good if you're a cowboy fan this morning.
But more than anything with Dak.
Does he understand what he needs for this franchise going forward to keep winning this division?
And it's a lot of help around him.
All right, we bring in Tony Gonzalez, who's going to be, well, you missed two games in 17 years,
Hall of Famer, all that stuff.
I got to ask you about, Dak, because you and I agree with him.
We think his intangibles were way better than his game.
And we also know, Tony, the top six paid quarterback's
in the NFL, none lead their division.
Would you take less money if you were Dack Prescott
knowing I can keep Vanderech, I can keep Jalen Smith?
Pro athletes, this is a very short career, Tony.
DAC at 20 million is a way better quarterback
than Dack at 28.5 million.
Tell me as a pro athlete how hard it is
to come to terms with that and know that making less,
you win more.
Yeah, well, you know, and this is strictly,
I say for the quarterback position
because I've talked about this before.
If I'm Dak on my first time,
this is going to be his first bite at the apple
when he comes to getting re-ups.
He's making no money right now.
He's making no money.
He's a fourth-round draft choice.
So he's not making cash yet.
And so I always say those guys on those first deals,
kind of like with Russell Wilson,
he played those great years.
They won Super Bowls.
As soon as you pay him that big money,
you know, things might fall off a little bit.
But he had to take that big deal.
Because it's his first time.
You never know.
You've got to get your,
cash. But after that, that third and fourth
contracts. That's when you take breaks. That's when you take breaks. That's when I would say,
okay, you know what, take a little less money so you can go win some championships.
Otherwise, you've got to get incredibly lucky if you take that max deal.
Like Matt Ryan and Julio Jones is a maxed out.
Or Aaron Rogers, he's maxed out. $33 million a year. You better, you have to cross your
fingers that nobody else gets hurt on that team. Your starters don't go down, which they do.
and as soon as they do, you're stuck with with rookies.
Okay, let's say I'm Dax agent.
Uh-huh.
And I think, Joey, you and I have talked about this.
If I'm Dax agent, I'm saying, time out, he's been making $700,000 a year,
and I'm winning national TV games and divisions.
I'm not taking any pay cut.
Yeah.
I mean, if I'm Dax agent, I think this is a real dilemma.
Yeah.
Because I'm going to argue, I've won two divisions, and you're paying me what you pay a DJ
in Dallas. I'm not taking, I think Dax's agent's going to say, we want 30, 28.
He's going to want $30 million. If they go to the NFC championship game, that's exactly what he's
going to ask for. And a lot of people, and Dax's probably going to say, okay, but if I'm Jerry Jones,
if I'm Jerry Jones, and you look at the tape and you set it in your, and your diatribe, whatever,
intro. Diatribe, yeah. If you do that, if you give him all that money, you can't pay everybody else.
DAC is not that guy. Not too many people are that guy. It's not a knock against
Dak. There's very, there's like a handful, five guys that are those true
quarterback that can lift the team up and put it on its shoulders. Most guys have to
get, have to have to be surrounded. They got to have a good defense. They got to have a good
running game. They got to have good players around them in order to have success. Even as good
as Patrick Mahomes is, he's elevated by Andy Reed schemes, Kelsey, Zeke, Sammy
Watkins, and formerly Kareem Hunt. So even when you are gifted like Drew Brees, you
Mike Thomas.
Yeah.
Like,
this thing with the Cowboys is fascinating because Dax's looking at this thing,
I saved your franchise.
Well, look at the numbers.
This is first of all,
he had his first game over 300.
He had 400 yards last night.
Right.
But it's the first time he did that all season long.
And I don't think he did not, he missed a couple of throws.
Oh, no, no, he did not.
Hey, Goulet, you're the resident cowboy fanatic.
I think through two and a half to three quarters.
Am I being rude to say this?
He was pretty awful.
He didn't have a touchdown to the fourth quarter.
I thought for three quarters he was awful.
Yeah.
Like, I thought he kept Philly in the game.
And you know, I hate...
I know, it's terrible.
I hate talking about this because I love this guy.
He's such a nice guy.
Great kid.
Perfect for that organization.
If he could just play a little bit better.
But he's a fourth round draft choice for a reason.
I mean, there's a reason he wasn't at the top of the boards.
I'm not saying he's bad.
And I'm not saying he can't get better.
But I just don't think I can't pay him $30 million and expect my franchise
to be in that talk of NFC championships playoffs for the next five, six years.
I want to talk about the Steelers here and then I'll let you go.
So, listen, teams ebb and flow.
I thought the Rams played great for about eight weeks.
I thought they kind of peaked and I don't think Baltimore got it together until now.
You've been on teams, Tony.
Sometimes you're red hot in September and October, couple injuries and you're not the same team.
Pittsburgh's in a free fall.
Go back to your career.
Pittsburgh now doesn't run.
turnovers, too much noise,
not quite getting to the quarterback.
Have you ever been in a team
that felt like they lost it,
but then rebounded for the playoffs?
Or do you have to be going into the playoffs
playing like a Baltimore
and not like a Pittsburgh?
Because Pittsburgh feels like the wheels are coming off.
Yeah, I believe you've got to get hot
at the end of the year.
That's what makes New England so good.
They don't lose in December.
They don't lose.
Just look at the record.
It's the best ever.
They don't lose.
You see teams get Seattle
think they got hot.
teams, you have to find that spark at this time of year.
And if you're struggling right now, it's going to be awfully hard to turn around.
You see the chiefs.
I'm so glad they won yesterday because people will start to say,
all right, Andy Reid, here we go.
They start out hot.
And the players will hear that.
Yeah, and they're going to, okay, we're starting to flatten out.
Teams are figuring us out.
And then they go into the tank.
And it's hard to dig yourself out of the tank.
You want to start out on top.
It's much easier to ride momentum than create momentum.
If you were Ben Rathletzburg,
and you were not an overly vocal player,
and you've said you regretted that.
If you were Pittsburgh right now and the wheels are coming off,
would you go in and say, fellas, we got three left?
Is this the time?
Everybody tells me how great Big Ben is.
Is this the time Big Ben goes into that locker room and says,
fellas, I got about two years left in this league.
We got to get this puppy together.
Yeah.
Because to me, if Pittsburgh is in danger, I'm serious here.
I don't know if they can make the playoffs the way Baltimore is playing.
Yeah.
Yeah, well, I think Mike Tomlin,
probably him and Big Ben need to get together.
Mike Tomlin needs to come in there, talk to the team,
say, hey, this is where we're at,
and then say, all the coaches, myself included,
let's get out of here.
You players are going to do a meeting on your own,
and that's where Big Ben needs to step up,
and then the defensive captain, whoever that is on that team,
needs to step up in front of those guys and tell them,
look, we're on the verge of crapping out here.
We better do something to get ourselves back on track.
Otherwise, we're going to be home.
Did you ever have a player's only meeting?
Yeah.
We've had players-only meetings.
You did?
And in Atlanta?
Do we do that in Atlanta?
I know we did it in Kansas City.
What's it like?
And they don't always work.
Did you have a bad one?
I've had, yeah, I've seen some bad ones.
I've seen some times in the middle of the season when the wheels are falling off.
Guys get up, that's where leadership, the right kind of leadership,
because a lot of guys out there want to be leaders, but they're not good leaders.
I mean, I had a guy get up in front of our meeting room and he put on, he comes,
he goes behind the desk and it's a player's only meeting and he puts on a ski mask and a toy gun he brings out a toy gun and he doesn't say a word and he just points it at the at the whole room and he's pointing at the players and he's like what the hell is he doing and he looks at us and he takes it off and he goes that's what you guys are doing some of y'all in here are absolutely stealing getting money for free just to show up here you guys aren't taking it serious and that was his his way and I was like ugh like what you're
I feel no more motivated now than ever.
The guy was just an okay player at the time.
Oh, that's the worst.
And I was like, because guys won.
And his heart's in the right place.
But that's what I'm saying.
You need that upper echelon guy.
That's why it's got to be Ben Roth.
It's got to be the quarterback.
It's got to be Ben Roth's back.
That's a great point.
I've had some really good bosses.
I've had some average bosses.
But the bosses need to talk.
You can't have the executive vice president talk.
You've got to have the president talk.
And to your point, average guy stands up, that's not changing the room.
It's not changing the room.
We've seen, you've been on teams.
Everybody out there who's been on a team, you see the guy or the girl who wants to be that leader.
But they're not.
They're not.
Like, I always like, just be quiet and let the brass.
Let the people that are leading us, the ones at the top, the ones making the decisions.
I want to hear from them.
Not that your opinion doesn't matter.
Still say something, but just don't take the whole.
on us on yourself. Good seeing you, Tony.
Good seeing you.
Comment out, we have the three-word game. If you missed Michael Irvin earlier,
he was as Michael Irvin is.
Crazy and funny and outrageous.
And I'm going to play a couple of minutes of it because Michael Irvin is a one-of-a-kind,
funny guy, broadcaster, Hall of Famer.

By the way, New England, and Joy, we talked about this.
New England lost at Miami.
You used to live in Miami.
You were in Miami this weekend.
They always struggle in Miami.
The two places Tom Brady has struggled in Denver high altitude in Miami where it's kind of muggy.
And I think there's something to it.
I don't believe in coincidences in life.
I don't believe in fate.
I don't believe in any of that stuff.
I think stuff happens for a reason.
If I get run over by a truck, it's not because I'm a bad guy or a good guy.
It's because I didn't look both ways and I got run over by a bread truck.
Is New England has struggled in Miami?
Do players go out and party?
I mean, I'm asking, is it the humidity?
Do you go winter to summer?
I mean, it is 36 degrees in Boston right now.
Yeah.
It's not 36 in Miami.
It's something.
It's Arbazil weekend.
I don't know.
I don't know what it is.
But they struggle there.
And even when they win, they're awful.
Like yesterday, Tom Brady had a play at the end of the half where he completely spaced it
and takes them out of a field goal spot because they didn't have timeouts.
Couldn't stop the clock.
And Tom just forgot about it.
By the way, Tom Brady after the game, admitted he had a brain fart.
That was that terrible play by me.
That should never happen.
I just lost it.
I thought we had one time out.
We called the one, and then we ran a couple plays,
and I was just not thinking on third down.
So it was just a play that should never happen.
And then, by the way, at the end of the game,
they have Gronk on the field.
Well, they had Gronk out there,
assuming that they were going to try and throw it deep,
and Gronk is a giant, so he's going to jump up and, you know, bat it down.
But by the way, Ryan Tannihill admitted after,
he said the minute we saw Gronk on the field,
and that was the last guy, because it wasn't Hail Mary, you're 70 yards from the field.
I mean, here's Tannehill admitted that they made a situational mistake.
They didn't have a safety.
They had Grong.
Here's what Tannehill said after.
You know, I told the guys in the huddle, hey, once we complete this thing, get downfield
because it's going to turn it into a pitch thing, you know, and I didn't think it was
going to be one pitch in the way.
I saw a Kenyon there.
I'm like, pitch it, pitch it.
You know, he pitches it.
And Katie, came back inside.
I kind of had a great view of the whole thing.
came back inside.
Then I saw him and Gronk about 10 yards away.
I was like, Gronk's on the field.
We got this, you know?
Yeah, I mean, it was just a, you want to have, in a Hail Mary, you want a 6-7 guy.
But what you want, if it's not a Hail Mary, is the fastest guy is on the team in case it buss out.
And so it was just like, listen, I can't, I try to explain things for a living.
I'm a professional explainer.
I observe and explain.
New England just doesn't play well there.
By the way, Pittsburgh through the year.
plays like crap in Oakland.
You know, Ben's never one in Oakland.
Pittsburgh never plays well in Oakland.
So some things, you know, they'll call them UFOs.
Some things in the sky you can't explain, Joy.
They're just out there.
Well, you're going to explain them.
They're aliens.
They're not aliens.
Come on.
You don't believe in aliens.
No.
I don't believe in aliens or ghosts.
I believe in goats, but I don't believe in ghosts.
You don't believe in ghosts or aliens.
No.
John?
You think we're the only intelligent life in the entire universe?
Yeah.
Yeah, I've seen.
I mean, my neighbors, you know, I can look out my window and see it,
but I'm not, you know, little space creatures up there.
I think it's us.
I think it's us and star dust.
It's spaced us and us.
We're just that special.
Have you spent a lot of time around humans?
I think we're pretty special, Joy.
Here's Joy with the news.
No, no, no, no.
Turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
New York earlier announced over the weekend that he will not play in West Virginia's upcoming bowl against Syracuse.
He is opting instead to focus on NFL draft prep.
This makes we are the first healthy high-profile quarterback to skip a bowl game to prepare for the NFL.
Okay, Joe, I don't like this.
Now, I defended Leonard Fernette.
I will defend a player that's had a surgery, a college player, and doesn't want to irritate it, an injury-prone kid.
I will defend a running back who's taking a physical beating.
Like Christian McCaffrey?
or Leonard Fernett.
I am not going to, for a quarterback, by the way, universities recruit one of these players a year.
They recruit six running backs a year.
Also, didn't he have a problem at the University of Florida?
Yeah.
Okay, so this is a guy with a little questionable action in Florida, now steps out of a game here as a quarterback.
I don't like this at, I don't like this at all.
I think this is the second market makes me question.
His judgment, and I don't like it at all.
I have zero problem with it whatsoever.
In that game, that McCaffrey sat out, Stanford quarterback Kelly Chris suffered a torn ACL.
No, no.
Running backs all defend.
The quarterback.
The quarterback in that game of the Sun Bowl that Christian McCaffrey did not play in.
Here's the thing.
At this point in Will Greer's career, there's no more tape needed.
Nothing he's going to do in this bowl against Syracuse is going to wow scout so much so they didn't
see any of this in his five-year career. I disagree. You watch Ohio State's quarterback,
Dwayne Haskins, who had a great last month. If he goes out in that Rose Bowl.
It's Ohio State. It's West Virginia, Syracuse. You're getting the popcorn ready for that game?
You're not. You're not even going to watch it. If Dwayne Haskins for Ohio State has a great bowl game,
he's going to go number one. It's Dwayne Haskins, Ohio State. This is Will Greer. He's
remembered to be like the bottom of the first round, second round. All he has to do is lose in this game.
He can go out there.
It's nice.
He'll be with his teammates.
It's adorable.
Hate it.
He has nothing to do but losing this game.
He can put bad stuff on tape.
I have no problem with it.
I don't have a problem with him playing also,
but he's got to do what's best for him in his career at this point.
So Amari Cooper is proven to be a fast learner for the Cowboys.
His second touchdown that briefly put the Cowboys
ahead of the Eagles with three minutes left to go.
Didn't actually go as planned because score tied at 16.
The original play call was for Cooper to run quickly downfield
and turn back to Jack Prescott.
stop route and Cooper didn't like that cause.
So him and Dak got together and said,
well, Scott Linehan, we're going to do our own thing.
That's interesting because I actually had another stop route on that play.
And they were, if you was watching, they were like really sitting on those stop routes, man.
And I was like, it's just ridiculous.
So when I broke the huddle, I was kind of mad.
And I was like, that, come on again.
He was like, just running, bro.
And I guess he thought about it again.
And he kind of signaled a go route.
And I was elated when he did that.
I took off, caught the ball, and scored.
That's okay. There's nothing wrong with players ad-libman.
As long as players are on the same page ad-living.
If a quarterback, you don't think Tom Brady's ever looked at Gronker-Element and done that thing,
like where they give him a signal?
It's like, dude, I see something.
Yeah, that's Tom Brady.
Okay.
He doesn't have a little veto power on plays.
I mean, you're always talking about Dak Prescott being limited.
Maybe it's just, maybe some of it is the offense that's limited.
You know, I don't know.
I kind of like the idea.
of Dak and Amari going, hey, hey, let's make something happen.
I kind of like it.
I like it, too. I don't know.
It could be a sign of things to come.
And finally, the Lakers have landed one vet from Phoenix this season and Tyson Chandler.
And they are reportedly interested in trading for Trevor Areza,
who would be a very good fit for this team.
According to Woj, it would be a three-team trade that would involve Contavius Caldwell Pope.
But no trade can be made official until December 15th.
And KCP has a de facto no trade.
clause because he would have to give up his early bird rights if he were traded by the Lakers
before the deadline. So he has a say in where he wants to be moved. And if he doesn't want to go
to Phoenix, then he could be to this trade. The money is about the same. Marisa's making
$15 million a year, KCP, $12 million, and they're both on one-year deals. So this has to be a
three-team trade, though, because clutch sports in Phoenix, they had some disagreements about
the Eric Wudso situation.
And then Phoenix moved on from all the clutch players and coaches.
And this is, Phoenix is a last resort for any clutch represented player.
But that's why it would be a three-team trade.
It doesn't really have anything to do with the money.
But Trevor Rees it would be a great fit for the Lakers.
Cash and shoot guy plays defense, hard worker, smart veteran.
Yeah, I like it.
LeBron likes those dudes.
Joy with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.

By the way, the game of the night was the Dallas Cowboys
beating the Philadelphia Eagles in overtime.
We had the great legend Hall of Famer Michael Irvin,
former cowboy on the show earlier today.
He was a riot.
He's always funny.
He's always outstanding.
And I felt I was ripping you off because he was on the first 15 minutes of our show.
If I didn't show you a few minutes of Michael Irvin earlier today.
And we start with him making a prediction a couple of months.
a couple of months ago on the NFL network.
I tell you what the Cowboys need to trade for, right?
What?
I tell you, and it's simple what the Cowboys need to trade for,
and that's wide receiver, a wide receiver.
Cowboys wide receiver are 27 yards right now ranking,
and the passing game is 29th in the NFL.
And Amarie Cooper would be the perfect guy.
I know a lot of people are down on this guy right now,
but in 15 and 16, he went over 1,000.
And last year, 17, he had seven touchdowns, even though he missed two games.
This man right here is the missing piece to the Dallas Cowboys, truly being a Super Bowl
contend.
Okay, you literally look like the world's smartest man.
That's why I love you, Colin.
You let him know that this is not, I'm not just analyzing because people call you a broadcast.
I'm not a broadcaster.
I'm an analyst.
The TV is broadcasting my analysis of what I'm doing.
So I'm an analyst.
In order to understand the greatness of my analyzation, you must see that I am a seer.
I see that thing that is going to happen before it happened.
The Bible called them seers, prophecy.
First of all, and I say this to people all the time, as I study NFL wide receivers,
Amari Cooper is great in transition and getting in and out of routes.
He's great at it.
And I knew Dak Prescott was a young quarterback.
And I was like, wow, we need, the greatest thing you can give a young quarterback is a great transition receiver.
What does that mean to our audience?
That means a guy, if I'm running a 17-yard comeback, 17 back to 15,
when I got a guy that can transition like Amari Cooper
as a quarterback, when I see him, he'll run 15 yards.
He's going to try to break down the last two yards
and then come back out of that route.
He's so great at getting in and out of it transitioning.
Gotcha.
I can now throw the ball to an open guy.
When he's going in the route,
knowing when he comes out of the route, he's wide open.
I don't have to wait to see him open.
I can throw it before he comes.
comes open and now my confidence rises and I knew I was in any young I was like put him with
Zique and that and you can have something for a long time now listen I didn't like him out of
college I said he was a way better T-bo and then he won and I had to shut up and then I still watch
him now and I say and I said this to start the show his intangibles are off the charts
as an armed talent consistency as a lot I don't love why is
Is Jerry so loyal?
Because there's a lot of times I watch him.
He doesn't look like Mahomes.
He doesn't throw a ball like golf.
He doesn't do a lot what a lot of Andrew Lux do and Russell Wilson's.
What is it about him in Dallas?
You see what you did?
You see what you doing?
Which is amazing to me.
You giving Mahomes and golf a level of greatness because you've seen his arm talent or you see what golfed.
Dak Prescott has more wins than all of them.
Dak Prescott came in and did things that none of them has done in his first year,
in his first few years.
But we see certain things and we see these dynamic offenses in Mahomes and golf and everything.
Dak Prescott has everything, and he's still a young quarterback.
And there's some things he's got to get better at because he's missed a couple of guys running deep.
His fumble issue?
He got to get better at that.
And he knows that.
So when you look at the.
Cowboys and you look at the NFC right now.
You beat New Orleans at home.
Yes.
Okay.
Is there a team as you sit here today, Michael,
that you don't think Dallas matches up with?
Is there a team you'd love to see him play in the playoffs and one that worries you?
I was worried about the Saints because they were so explosive.
And I said, no way Dallas can match that explosiveness.
But that was prior to me seeing the performance of the defense against the Saints.
Because really, I underestimated that defense.
I said, no way they can keep the Saints down.
And then I overestimated what the Rams are doing.
He said, no way anybody can stop them.
I saw that yesterday.
I saw what the Cowboys did to the Saints.
I saw what the Bears did to the Rams.
And you say, oh, my God, yes, you can.
Yes, you can.
You can win this year what you have right now,
if it all comes together the right way
the cowboys have everything they need.
It's very interesting.
So we see the Rams go into cold weather
and they crumble.
And everybody loved the Rams for this first
seven, eight weeks. And it's funny, Michael,
because I think of Dallas as a warm weather team.
But what's interesting about this
Cowboys team, your team had some
Akeman. You were very dynamic. There was a lot of
glitz. But what I find funny with this
cowboy team, they're very blue collar.
They're very physical.
They're not that dynamic.
I'm telling you, they are physical.
And watching that game, I was there
Thursday night, I watched
when Jaylon Smith came across and hit him,
Kamar, and I promise you,
Kamar, when I looked at him,
I could tell he was like,
what was that? Like they're fast.
They remind me of the defenses
we had in the 90s. You know,
a lot of guys up front going after the
quarterback and fast linebackers.
It's hard to get, you will
not have more speed than the
Cowboys' defense have. And that
that's the key to that defense right now.
You know, Jerry, I watch him in the owner's
box. He is so happy.
He is. He's a good man.
He's been very good to a lot of people.
He's a good man. Jerry going forward.
I know a lot of times we think,
you know, Jerry's a little crazy.
Does Jerry still make a call
in Dallas or is Stephen running it?
If I said to you today, who
makes the final call on draft day? Who makes
the final call on DAC salary?
Listen, Jerry's
He's always delegated to Stephen Jones a long time ago.
When I was working on my contracts, because I was involved with all of them, he would say,
let's talk to Stephen.
Oh, God.
Yes.
Jerry said no to you?
Well, when we're doing negotiations, he may say no to my number,
but he'll say it in a special way.
You know, like I'd want to receive of the year,
and I would write down a number and pass it over to him,
and he would go into these long stories.
Oh, Michael, you know, back in such and such with my dad,
we did this, we were down in Al Paso,
that happened down in El Paso, you know?
So what I'm telling you is I pass on that number.
I'm like, what are you talking about?
What is that?
I said, man, are you going to, we're trying to get my money right, and you giving me these long
drawn-out stories.
He's the only guy that'll tell you no and have you laughing, and he just told you no.
That's how he is.
He's great at it.
Jason Garrett's safe, right?
He, like Jason's his guy?
He is his guy.
And another thing, people got to understand, too, when we start talking coaches, it's not just
about X's and O's on the football field.
It's also about personalities.
and managing personalities.
You don't hear players coming out of leaving the Dallas Cowboys
talking about how much they hate Jason Garrett.
You don't hear that.
And we're getting this everywhere.
Look at what just happened in Green Bay.
You know, look at when Amari Cooper leaves Oakland
and go to Dallas.
There's something went on in Oakland
that he didn't want to play for anymore.
It's not just about,
we're no longer in the Lombardi-like years
where coaches have dominion overplay.
It's about partnership with players.
How good are you at partnering with these guys that have got $50 million guarantee that you cannot cut?
That's important, too.
Michael Irvin from earlier today.
Coming up, the three-word NFL game describing every NFL game in three words next.

Thursday night football.
returns this week for a huge AFC West showdown as Philip Rivers and the 10 and 3 Chargers
face off against Patrick Mahomes and the 11 and 2 first place chiefs. It all starts at 730
Eastern on Fox NFL Network and streaming on Prime Video. All right, here we go. It's our best for last.
It's the three-word NFL game we can describe every game in three words. John hit the music and
here we go. Jaguars and Titans, are we ready to go? Jags just quit.
most rushing yards allowed by any team in nine years in the NFL.
That was against the Titans on Thursday night football.
Falcons, Packers.
Told you so.
First game without Mike McCarthy, Aaron Rogers could play great
and send a message without saying a word.
I told you so.
I wasn't the problems.
We predicted this Friday.
Pretty easy prediction.
Steelers, Raiders.
Where is Ben?
He missed most of the second half due to a rib injury,
and then apparently he was cleared to play,
and yet they weren't playing him because they had Josh Dobbs,
and then Big Ben came back,
and then immediately led them to a touchdown.
This is not a game to toy with.
Baltimore is hot.
Kansas City is going to have home field.
Come on, Steelers, button it up.
Ravens Chiefs.
No look
pass. Patrick Mahomes to
DeMarcus Robinson was the talk of the
internet, I'm told yesterday.
Listen, the kid's talented.
There's no getting away with it.
As good as everybody else in the league is,
at least they look when they pass.
The Chiefs clinched a playoff spot with that W.
Patriots Dolphins, WTF.
Daniel, last shot, back to Cheryl.
They throw it down.
They try to pitch it, and they do.
Parker. Parker pitches it.
And it's Drake, Drake, 30, 20.
The Counts he's got to tackle.
Oh, that's now.
Oh, it's a win.
I don't believe what I just saw.
Yeah, either did New England or me.
Saints, Bucks.
Saints win, but New Orleans had only three points in the first half.
Again, they struggled.
last two games, Drew Brees, two TDs, two interceptions, they're a little off.
Panthers and Browns, Baker is cooking.
They've won three or four.
Still, only two back of the Steelers.
And Freddie Kitchen, the new coordinator for Baker Mayfield, had a nice game plan,
and a lot of it involved deep throws.
And Baker was spot on when he had time to throw yesterday and had a pocket.
he was incredibly accurate.
I thought it was the best Baker has looked all year.
Jets Bills.
Darnold delivers late.
Six-game losing streak is over.
Jets have yet to win without Sam Darnold.
He had a huge throw up the right sideline to Robbie Anderson.
They came from behind.
Sam Darnold carries the Jets, a team without talent to a win.
Giants Redskins, rookie of year.
Giants 40 points with a much.
since 2015.
Sakewan Barkley is the first
giant's rookie to reach a thousand rushing
yards. We thought he would be good.
He has been great. We thought
he was a home run hitter but would be
inconsistent, but he's averaging five and a half
yards of carry. I would have taken
a quarterback, not a running back,
but this league's about
production and he has delivered
massive production.
Broncos 49ers
here, kiddle, kiddle.
Kind of bad, but that's
George Kittle, the tight end from Iowa.
That guy does not run like a tight end.
That guy runs like a big wide receiver.
Over 200 yards of offense yesterday for George Kittles.
One of the, Travis Kelsey and George Kittle are two of the great young tight ends in football.
Lions Cardinals.
I didn't watch.
Lions won, but I'm not going to lie to the audience.
Colts, Texans, end of streak.
Nine game winning straight for Texans.
Mostly came down to this.
Andrew Luck has owned Houston,
and he is thrown for 840 yards against him in two games and six touchdowns.
By the way, the Colts are a game over 500,
and right now,
they occupy the eighth seed in the AFC playoff picture,
not in yet, but getting really, really close.
Eagles Cowboys.
Thanks, John Gruden.
Amari Cooper traded a down.
Dallas in October.
Yesterday, Amari's game was the third best ever by a cowboy receiver.
He's also a good kid.
As Joy told you earlier, he and Dax sort of ad-lib late in the game.
Amari Cooper, he's been worth the first round pick.
Bengals Chargers, L.A.'s best team.
They're one game back of the Kansas City Chiefs,
and they can tie it up with the Chiefs.
If they win that game Thursday in Kansas City, don't think they will.
Kansas City and Annie Reed have owned the Chargers.
But the Chargers, not the Rams are the best team in L.A.
Rams Bears, pump the brakes.
Rams had the fewest yards under Sean McVeigh.
Frankly, Jared Gough, under siege, lost confidence.
Todd Gurley had a couple of big runs late when it didn't matter much.
Rams are good, but that felt like Chicago wanted to teach the hot, new coach, a lesson.
And they did.
And finally, Viking Seahawks Monday Night Football tonight,
Primetime Cousins.
He has the lowest winning percentage of active quarterbacks in prime time games.
I'm going to take Seattle.
Russell Wilson, for the record, has been a very good quarterback in the standalone prime time games.
