This is an IHeart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Hey guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
And guess what?
We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
But, you know, tired and sick.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you.
you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel
and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you
funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel, help an
a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some
retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and
friends on the ice.

Last night, a blown call changed a game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
That's where SportsSlice comes in.
I'm Timbo, and every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the biggest
moments in sports and giving you the real story behind the headline.
And we're going straight to the source, the athletes themselves, their locker room stories,
their reactions in the moment, and the stuff nobody gets to hear.
Listen to Sports Slice on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
And for more, follow Timbo Slicelife 12 in the TikTok podcast network on TikTok.
Winning on Clay is an art.
The rallies are relentless.
And at the French Open, only the toughest survive.
I'd know.
I competed there for decades.
Join me, Renee Stubbs, on the Renee Stubbs tennis podcast for no nonsense breakdowns of the biggest matches, the toughest players, and the moments that define Roland Garris.
Jen should win.
She's an outsider to win the French friend.
And she likes Clay.
Listen, Lernerabakina is arguably the best player in the world right now.
And I actually can win on any surface.
Listen to the Renee Stubbs tennis podcasts on the IHeart Radio app.

Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

Today's the last day of June.
Tomorrow is Uno de Julio.
So let's go out on top.
Enjoy the last night of June here with Covino and Rich, Fox Sports Radio, broadcast live from the Fox Sports Radio studio.
And I always wonder, July is Julio, right?
Yes.
June?
Yes, Julio.
Is Hunio.
Junio and Julio.
How come no Junios?
I don't know many Junios, but I know lots of Julios.
You're right.
I have a cousin named June.
Oh, yeah, I guess it would be women named June.
Thank you, Sam.
Juniper.
Thank you, but that's Sam.
Danny G's here.
Thanks, love you.
We're rocking out.
Thank you guys.
Kavino and Rich.
Again, doing it live in Atlanta.
The brightest baseball athletes from HPCUs are about to make history in Atlanta at MLB All-Star Week.
I'm pumped man.
Catch the HBCU swing man classic presented by T-Mobile,
hosted by Ken Griffey Jr.
and stay for the postgame fireworks at Truist Park on July 11th.
That's a Julio.
Oh, 11th.
For tickets, visit all-stargame.com.
And of course, you might have heard, we're going to be there broadcasting live all week, filling in for Dan Patrick.
So that week, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Wednesday, Home Run Derby, All-Star Game Tuesday,
Tuesday, weekend, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, in for the great Dan Patrick from Atlanta, Georgia.
So before we move on and talk about Gino Smith and.
And there's an update on the Catele-Marté story.
Yeah.
Let's take one quick phone call now.
87799 on Fox, everything at Covino and Rich, about this Bakhtiari wedding snub.
He felt slighted clearly based on his tweet that he wasn't invited to Aaron Rogers' wedding.
So I believe.
JR.
J.R. Jone Lee Rohnley.
In Indianapolis.
That's something to say about it.
What's up, J.R.
No, I'm going to tell you doing, fellas.
Hey, buddy.
How do you feel?
Is this a disc, a sneak disc?
Nothing.
Are you not reading into it or what?
Relationship between a center and a quarterback is kind of sacred anyway.
You give him a hernia check how many times a year.
I mean, so I guess if you down there that long, I mean, you know, I would feel like you didn't play with my balls a long time.
So, you know, we probably should be able to have a relationship where I get invited to your way.
It's a relationship like none other.
You're right.
I mean, it could be a work relationship.
Hey, not everyone gets invited from the office.
But I'm saying there's an intimacy between a center and a quarterback that, you know, I mean, I'm sorry, he's a tackle.
But yeah, there's a relationship there where, you know, you're in the, you're in it together.
He's protecting Aaron Rogers.
I don't know.
Anyway, yeah, but you know what else it's like too?
There's that weird feeling of the people that stayed at the job, right?
And then you leave and you work with a bunch of different other people.
in their mind, they still think of you as, yeah, you used to work with them.
But meanwhile, that person was just one of many other people you met along the way.
It's hard to explain.
But what I'm trying to say is Aaron Rogers has dealt with a lot of other linemen since that guy.
And that's just life.
We thought they were tight.
And you know what?
I just want to wrap it by saying, if you were ever, quote, dissed and not invited somewhere,
never take it seriously because I'm sure.
Is it that big of a deal?
I mean, come on.
I read once that you can, like, psychologists say you can only really have about a relationship with about 200 people where you remember their name.
Remember things about them.
You actually, you know, you have a back and forth.
And I think that that 200 people that changes over the years, you know, you have new people you work with.
And maybe they take a spot.
They take up those spots that go to the wedding.
So, yeah, it's hard to remember everybody from your past and make sure everyone's invited.
I think it looks like this.
He's just had a small wedding and he couldn't invite everybody.
Exactly.
I mean, the reality is something I've thought over the years.
By the way, if you're angry at a friend because of that, let it go.
It's lame.
You know, Dan Byer, let me ask you, if you don't mind me, ask you, what year did you and your wife get married?
2017.
Okay.
I wonder, in the last eight years, how different would your wedding guest list look?
Oh, completely different.
My wife and I often talk about how we look at our, we had about 150 people.
She's from Texas.
I'm from New York.
Of those 150, we imagine maybe half of them would still be invited.
and there's a slew of new people that clearly would have been invited.
100%.
Life changes.
Life changes and more for some people than others.
I'm also a firm believer.
And I think I've said this to you guys on the show where I just, I think some people are
in your lives for just a certain period of time.
And the friendship maybe five years, maybe 10 years.
Not everything is a lifelong friendship.
A reason or a season, some they say, right?
Yeah, just moves in and out.
If you guys go back to your early radio careers, you probably have what, one or two people
you'd like to pluck out of that and be like, yeah, he's coming to the wedding,
great friend from 20 years ago.
Like you can't, you know, you have people
that come in and out of your life.
It's just normal. It's natural.
You know, and the best way to look at it is
think of a job you had, not just in radio or TV
or broadcasting, whatever you do for a living.
Think your old job. How many people do you talk
to from that place? The answer might be one or two.
But at the time, you were like, man, Hank
in accounting, we go out for beers every Thursday night
football and you might not have seen Hank
in 15 years. So just remember,
it's, you know, guess what? Hank might
still be there.
and you had like three or four jobs since.
Yeah. I also think, though, that David Bactiari knows what Flack Aaron Rogers gets for his relationships or lack thereof.
So it's fun to lean in a little.
In that book, and that's what I don't know, is it, is it him busting chops or is he truly calling him out?
Because in that book that Ian O'Connor wrote last year, you were either in the inner circle or you won't or you weren't.
And sometimes without warning, you were dropped.
some people make it back in and some people don't.
But he's not like any other player in the NFL that we have that.
So him bringing that up, I think is pretty interesting because Rogers just is looked at differently
because of his lack of relationships with his family and whatnot.
The articles that I'm reading about it is that it clearly ticked off Bakhtiari.
But for all we know, he's busting chops, right?
We don't know.
So that's the story.
Your feedback at Covino and Rich at Fox Sports Radio.
now I know Danny gets so irritated by the Roger stuff but Danny there is a level of
aren't you a little intrigued like is he gonna really be four minutes not too full segments is he
gonna connect with anyone in Pittsburgh he said 24 minutes oh I'm sorry my like will he can all of
a sudden we can be like man look at him in DK Metcalf their bros or yeah him and Tomlin chopping
it up they look like the best like I wonder how we're all going to be just watching his
moves it's sort of you know it's on us but we'll we'll be watching well
There's another story involving an NFL quarterback.
That quarterback is Danny G's quarterback.
Dan Byer's old quarterback.
Gino Smith.
Gino Smith trending this weekend, Raiders QB, got into it, got into a fight at a football game this weekend.
He's going back and forth.
Verbal fight argument, little verbal tussle, a back and forth with some of the people in the stands.
and he's quoted as screaming back and forth.
That's why I get paid the big bucks.
That's why I get paid the big bucks.
And video surfaced of this back and forth in the stands.
And he posted, Gino Smith later posted,
having fun with the game I love, man.
The need for clicks and negativity takes away
from the great event that happened this past weekend.
All the kids had fun and competed.
All around great event.
This is how we talk in Dade Country.
and Dade Country.
I'm sorry you might not understand.
Carry on.
So he's there coaching these kids and these parents get all wild and parents are wild.
That's why you see those signs.
Remember parents.
The kids are watching.
You got to behave.
Be the adult.
But he went on and carried on.
But he's saying it's not a big deal.
He's super competitive.
The team he's playing against was called Raw Miami.
So, yeah, it was just the environment, I think.
So he was just smack.
To me, that was just smack talking back and forth.
But some of the parents trying to get under his skin.
Why not?
It's Gino Smith.
Well, again, this falls under the category of, we got to know the whole story before you make an assessment.
Like, because the initial thing was like, it's Gino Smith, fly it off the handle.
No, he's just sort of having fun with it.
And that's what he says.
And you know what?
I didn't think we'd hear more about this Cattel Marte story, but the reality is that we all agreed last week.
We're like, this Dirkbag fan talking about his deceit.
deceased mother and we were
all in agreement like
what are we doing
right right but
we did point out though and I'm glad Dan
Byer did that the Martel
could tell news about
his mom that wasn't a story we all knew about
yeah that wasn't like public knowledge that's a big part of
this update and from what
we understand and the update is the fan
that got banned for life
or you know whatever that's a permanent
permanent ban on social media
a band for who knows how long
we're learning that the thing he screamed was,
I texted your mom last night.
And you could argue that that is simply nothing more than like
a lame yo mama joke or like, hey, your mother.
It was a bad yo mama joke to the worst person.
Yes, wrong place, wrong.
And then when the manager got all mad, like,
you effing whatever, his mother died.
The fan apparently was remorseful right away, which means when we look at the whole story,
could it be that he just put his foot in his mouth in a major way and be like, oh, your mom,
not realizing the guy lost his mom.
Does that change the story for you at all?
It does a little bit for me.
Should moms always be off limits?
I mean, it was just a yo mama joke to the absolute worst person he could have probably picked to say one too.
So bad timing.
He's made an example of.
He's banned for life.
Everybody sees a stupid face all over to place.
Now that you know, does the punishment and the amount of attention that the story got, does it match to actual crime?
I am glad you guys brought this up because this was a bone that I wanted to pick.
Let's do it.
I talked about it a little bit yesterday with my Sunday show with Mike Harmon because I said something when you were talking about it, Kvino, because I disagreed with you on that day.
And I said one of the reasons why I felt.
strongly about it was because I don't think that this escapes Martel or Martel for
or Marte for just it coming and going like this is going to stick with him.
It stuck with him the next day.
Then he goes to Arizona.
Then there's the standing ovation.
Right.
Yeah.
And I just bring this up.
Do you know that he's two for 16 since the incident?
Wow.
And he struck out for the first time this season, struck out three times in a game on Friday night,
struck out two more times in the game prior to that on Wednesday.
So you don't tell me this hasn't affected him for everything that went down.
So excuse me if I don't feel sorry for the fan,
even though it's wrong place, wrong time.
There are consequences to it.
And it's obviously had an effect on Catelle Marte where, again,
he did Homer twice this weekend.
Those were his only two hits that he's had since the incident.
and it just doesn't seem necessarily
like everything is
a-okay in that sort of world.
It's so tough. You know why? Because we often preach
here on the Kavino and Rich show. Well,
would you do it? So why would we defend
some? I don't like defending
your mama jokes all that much.
But I do understand how innocent
your mama joke could be. Right?
Your mama's so short. You can see her feet
and her license photo. Like, okay,
that's funny. Your mama
but you say that. She wore a Malcolm X shirt
and a helicopter landed on her.
You say that to say that to
someone who just lost their mom
or is super sensitive, now
you said it to the wrong person.
But guess what? Here's the flip side to that.
We've all said something
at a place
or a foot and mouth sort of
situation where we met no harm by it.
And this guy just did it on the
highest of levels possible.
Like, Spot put his foot in his mouth
at our convention recently.
What happened? I can't say.
But he brought up somebody
who was the scene.
and like, oh man, I forgot her. I didn't know.
You know, that's sort of awkward because it happens sometimes.
But this just became a national story.
So now that you know what he said, hey, yo, I texted your mom last night,
which seems kind of harmless.
Really turned out to be not harmless at all.
He's two for 16 cents.
The show I keep telling you that I know he's never going to walk.
Maybe Dan Byroll because he's a golf fan, but stick with Owen Wilson on Apple TV.
You like getting paid by Apple TV?
It's like everything you watch there is the best.
Are you trying to make the most of your subscription?
I think Apple TV has some of the best stuff.
I think Rich is in cahoots.
You watch corny documentaries on Netflix.
Where's my payday?
You watch about poop.
I will back him up, Covino.
Their shows are well made.
I want it on this Apple endorsement that Rich has.
He's getting paid every time he shouts them out.
That's not true at all.
I wish they did.
Big Apple Rich over here.
Yeah, Big Apple Dickie.
So my point is on the show, there was a scene where
someone did the whole like, well, you
wouldn't know because you don't have kids
and they said that to someone who lost a kid.
And like that could be
like, oh, you're not a parent, you wouldn't
know, and it's like, you're not, I don't think you know
he lost his kid and see how that person would be
infuriating.
But the other person just didn't know.
But I'm so torn on this because
like Dan said and you and I, we did the Kavino and Rich Rule,
I'm not sticking up for someone that did some dumb crap
I wouldn't do. I would never yell at someone.
Yeah, you mother!
So I can't stick up for him, but I do see the corny innocence of a yo mama joke said to an athlete who unfortunately lost his mom in a tragic accident.
We just did a couple of weeks ago things we love about baseball here.
No one said your mama jokes.
Now, I said chatter.
Yeah, chatter's great.
Yes, and that comes within it.
But I just feel that there's consequences.
And when you're in a ballpark that's mostly empty, I mean, the White Sox aren't good.
you know, so who's dying to go to a White Sox Diamondbacks game.
The Pope.
You're sitting that close.
By the way, Dan Byer, I'm not trying to be contrarian here, but part of the chatter we had in
my high school team was making fun of each other's mom all the time.
I'm not even kidding you.
We had songs about everybody's mom.
But you're not saying, you're like, come on, kid, pitching strikes.
You know, your mom's fat.
Come on.
You're not saying that.
But now that we know what he said, right?
Because weren't you expecting, like, the worst sort of thing?
Yeah.
Now that you hear it, it is a lot more innocent than we thought.
The result is the same.
Now it seems like he should have been banned for the season, not for life.
It's an indefinite ban.
It's considered an indefinite ban.
I think that's honestly, guys, I think it's a perfect spot for a quote-unquote learning experience.
Correct.
I like that.
You know, have the guy do something or be involved in something.
He's 22.
He's young enough to know, like make a change or do something about it.
to I like that.
I love that. In fact, I would love to serve him.
Community service for him to get access back to fall apart.
I would love for him to apologize, like, publicly or get them together and just be like,
I just didn't know.
But the PSA is you never know what people are going through.
Are you going to, right?
Did you just create this?
That would be MLB.
You never know.
You never know what people are going through.
You know, a little campaign on, you know, just talk at ass about what you might not realize.
Hey, I'm, uh, Dwebis McGirt, whatever the kid's name is.
I believe it is.
I regret what I said to Cotel Marte.
I apologize.
Martel gives him a hug.
You know what Kvino?
But the truth is, you never know what anyone's going through, and I apologize.
And then it goes to someone, you never know.
You never know.
Brought to you by MLB.
So, hey, knowing the whole story is important.
But again, I always think we should all go by the Kavanaugh and Rich Golden Rule.
It's not treat others how you want to be treated.
That's the Golden Rule.
The Kavino and Rich Golden Rule is when someone,
athlete, celebrity, musician, someone gets in trouble.
And your instinct is like, well, should I defend them?
ask yourself, well, would I do that?
Would you do that?
Would I scream out of your mama joke to an MLB ball player?
Probably not.
I would say definitely not.
Some guy, but it's definitely a little different than what I thought of was.
Some young player cheated on his girlfriend.
You're like, yeah, I would have done that.
I was dumb in my 20s too.
Would I do that?
It's always a punk move when you know they're in a position of power
or a high-stakes kind of career or job,
and they can't really say anything back.
That's always a point.
Like, you know what?
It's, again, whatever the scenario is, when you see some athlete get behind the wheel when they're drunk.
I wouldn't do that.
Why would you?
You know, like, you're defending people in scenarios.
Always ask yourself, would I?
Because there are times where you'd be like, you know, I would.
Like, hey, I was out and, you know, out and about and I did something dumb.
Like, people do dumb things, but you've got to ask yourself.
I use the example of rolling through a stop sign.
We've all done it.
And then you hit somebody on a bike.
And there are different consequences.
And that's into that same thing.
You hit somebody, it's, I mean,
and that's where, and that's where like it's wrong place, wrong time.
But he's not the innocent one here.
He's not the victim in all of this.
And now you know the rest of the story.
And did it change your opinion on it?
87799 on Fox.
And remember, everybody's going through something different.
You never know.
And now we ask you for your phone calls.
if you want to play last one standing
because that's next for the coveted,
highly coveted Swiggy, because we only
have like five left. That's our stainless steel
midnight black water bottle. And by the way,
times change of how we receive
and deliver messages, right? Our buddy
Michael, yo, what's up?
You know, listening in Vegas, he goes, you know, he interviews
a lot of celebrities doing the stuff he does on TV
and he said, remember back in the day
it was so common to
ask a celebrity like, yo, you're going to
have kids or what? And now it's like
we don't know who can have kids or not.
And like many questions we've asked or things or things you threw around.
So nilly willy, really, nilly.
I was on a red carpet event and Michael Yoak could probably relate to this too.
And you're there.
You're just scramming.
Scramming?
Scramming?
Scambling?
We're scrambling.
No, you're scrambling for questions to ask these people, right?
Scramming.
And I go to this celebrity at the time.
So you're here to party, have a good time.
You're getting trashed tonight.
By the way, I meant.
By the way, I meant nothing by that, but it was an actress who was like recovering.
Yeah.
She took it.
I've been sober for 10 years.
Close.
And she took it all personal and got like major attitude with me.
But all I was really saying is, you're here to have some fun tonight?
But I was just asking a dumb question.
I'm a 20 year old broadcaster.
It sounds like a curbiour enthusiasm plot, honestly.
Yeah.
That's insensitive.
Rich, you made that mistake with one of our callers a few weeks back, remember?
Oh, yeah.
They were recovering out the whole.
I was like, hey, you sound drunk.
And he goes, I've been clean for 10 years.
I'm sorry.
That's right.
That's right.
And this just happened on the highest of levels where the whole world took note.
So that's the update, guys.
Again, the number is 87799 on Fox.
If you want to play last one standing, it's the game that's sweep in the nation.
Sweet.
And your chance to win some CNR prizes and swag for the summer.
We'll do that next.
And I'll tell you why Steve Cohen is the best owner in all of sports.
Let's go Mets.
We'll do that next right here.
Fox Sports Radio.
Now, Rich, we got to talk about Travis Matthew Apparel.
Design for confidence and comfort, no matter where the day takes you.
And they got those polos, bro.
As if you need more confidence.
The polos are pretty sweet.
Truthly, I'm not typically a polo shirt type of guy, but they are, they're so nicely fitted that I've been rocking some of the Travis Matthew polo shirts.
Their t-shirts are nicely fitted.
You know why, Rich?
Because, like, I don't know, when you put on quality clothing like that, it just feels so good.
you'll wear whatever it is. You know what it is?
Because it fits the right way.
Yeah, that's a difference.
It sits and fits so perfectly on you.
A lot of times the difference between like cheap clothing and like quality clothing is the cut and the fit.
And Travis Matthew just fits like a glove.
And you can go to Travis Matthew.com and receive 20% off your first order.
Just sign up for the email.
They got the shoes.
I always, I can talk for days about the featherweight jeans.
They're the best jeans ever had.
And guys, no worries.
They offer free shipping and free returns for reward members.
but you get 20% off your first order when you sign up for email.
So if you're making a big summer purchase, get that 20% off your first order.
Thanks again to Travis Matthew.com.
Hey, it's us to Jonas Brothers.
And guess what?
We have some big news.
What's the news, Nick?
Huge news.
We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts.
We're starting a trend.
But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band.
Before Jonas Brothers was...
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast,
where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, Jonas,
and offered it up as a potential title.
for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcast.
Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy,
not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and Friends on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Last night, a blown call changed a game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind.
Highlights are trending, opinions are flying, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.

The French Open is one of the toughest tests in tennis.
And I know firsthand because I competed there myself.
I'm Renee Stubbs.
And on the Renee Stubbs Tennis podcast, I'm breaking down everything happening at Roland Garris.
Every match, every upset, and what it really takes to win on clay.
Genshin win.
I mean, she went down in three to Rovachina, but I'm delighted.
Yeah, she's an outsider to win the first.
French for me. And she likes Clay.
Listen, Lena Rubakina is arguably the best
player in the world right now. And I actually can win
on any surface. Because if she's serving, well, good luck.

We talk about bite first, bite hard, no mercy, sir.
Oh, my goodness.
Son-Cade John Cree's biting asses.
No, it was Marv Albert, that bit of ass, right?
We talked about biting moments.
Martin Cove of Cobra Chi is involved in a weird biting scandal.
And we talked about last names and what's in the last name and the importance of a last name.
overpromised on Fox Sports Radio's YouTube page.
All right, now we're going to play last one standing, but real quick,
I'm going to give you a rapid fire 10 seconds.
We're talking about when you put your foot in your mouth because we realized
the could tell Marte's story, while terrible,
the fan that comment about his mother really just told a yo mama joke essentially,
didn't realize his mom was gone.
You don't want to take your hug back any less, right?
Marte, come here, bring it in, buddy, right?
You don't think about him any differently, knowing the rest of the story.
the kid that said it, it does change how you feel about what he said.
Because it wasn't that bad.
If he just joined us, he said it was just a regular yo-mama joke.
It texted your mom last night.
I texted your mom last night.
That's what the update is with no understanding whatsoever that this dude's mom had passed away tragically.
So the moral of the story is you never know what people are going through.
And now we go to your phone calls.
Yeah, not malicious as we thought.
San Jose. What's up, Daniel?
Hey, how's it going? What's up, man? Go ahead. Quick.
Hey, so I was out with a friend of mine one time we were at a tavern and he asked the
bartender, when are you due? And she goes, I'm not pregnant.
Oh, dude, we witnessed that at Sirius XM back of the day and the woman got real mad.
She's like, I'm not pregnant. I'm just fat and walked away. And Camino and I witnessed this.
And we're like, no good. Never say that. Never assumed pregnancy. That's why I just rub the belly and say,
He's going to be a soccer player.
He is.
Charles and Wheeling, West Virginia.
Hey, Charles.
How's it going?
I really appreciate the call.
Oh, no problem.
Thank you.
What's up?
Yeah, I was just interested in this whole situation because I don't think the punishment fits the crime.
I think in this situation, yeah, the guy said something terrible, but I think that is a part of dealing with the fan base.
It's kind of a part of the player's contract to have to deal with that, even though what happened is absolutely terrible.
I don't think he should be indefinitely banned because of it.
I think we're all feeling that the indefinite is a little extreme now that we're hearing the story.
It's a lesson that we learn over and over again.
That's to get the whole story before you make an assumption.
Remember at the Olympics?
We all thought that boxer was a man, but it was like she was a biological woman and everyone got it wrong.
You got to know the whole story.
And indefinite is just they don't know how long it's going to go.
It doesn't mean it's infinity.
It's like it's indefinite.
They haven't said maybe it's really.
rest of this year, who knows, but they just haven't put it in an end date on yet.
All right.
One last one. Andy in Rhode Island, then we play our game.
What's up, Andy?
What's up, buddy.
Hey.
The way I look at it, fans can be idiots.
I definitely understand that.
But what Steve Dad would say?
What are you going to go to the game kissing?
You know, you got to weigh it out.
And it's tough because it's horrible.
I definitely don't agree with, you know, how we made the player felt.
But as fans, you know, fans have too much power.
How about that?
They have too much power.
They can say what they want.
And it sucks for the athlete.
I do side with the athlete, but, you know, just play a little devil's advocate.
It's true.
And remember fans, remember people.
There's always consequences.
And that's what we're witnessing.
So thank you for hanging out with us.
Covino and Rich.
And now it's time for last one standing.
You have five seconds to battle for your sports trivia life.
Man.
Oh.
I got it.
I don't got it.
I don't got it.
Put your electronic devices down and pick your sports knowledge.
It's CNR's last one standing.
Last one standing.
All right.
I have four categories ready to go if needed a tiebreaker.
Each contestant gets five seconds to stay alive in the round.
If you run out of time or answer incorrectly, Iowa Sam will take you out with this sound.
Do not want to hear that buzzer.
I have nightmares about that buzzer.
We keep battling until you are the last one standing.
If you win two of the rounds, you are the top dog.
here are the contestants seven-time winner Steve Covino right over there
seven every week you save one off nope to his right
11-time winner Rich Davis hey hey hey hey
the leader in the clubhouse 30-time winner Dan Byer
thank you geez and let's got almost unstoppable

for Cooper in Bristol Florida
what up coop
What's going on, television?
Hey, Cooper.
Right outside Tallahassee, right?
Yes, sir.
What do you do for a living there?
I'm a correctional officer.
Oh, nice.
Thank you, buddy.
He's like the big boss man.
Yeah.
By the way, Spot is the fact checker during this game.
I hate it.
Lots of anxiety for Spotty.
All right, so let's go.
Be patient with him.
Here we go.
First category, not so friendly skies.
You have five seconds to name an NFL team
that will be traveling the most miles in the air this upcoming season.
NFL team.
top 16 for most miles traveling coming up for the season.
All right, Covino, I'm going to start with you as soon as the timer goes right now.
The Denver Broncos.
The Denver Broncos, number nine with 23,267.
Yeah, buddy.
Rich.
The Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Jacksonville Jaguars, number four, 29,000, six.
All right.
Byer.
Seahawks.
The Seahawks, number three, 31, 302.
Coop.
The bills?
The bills?
Not in the top 16.
Sorry, Cooper.
Back to Covino.
The Jets.
The Jets.
They're the Jets.
They are the Jets.
Ironically, not on the list.
They're Jets.
Sorry, not jetting anywhere.
What's the deal?
Why would you call yourself the Jop?
Why would you be the Jets if you're not playing?
It's between Rich and Byer, Rich.
The 49ers.
49ers.
Number 5, 28, 363.
Byer.
Chargers.
Chargers number one, 37086.
Rich.
The Rams.
Rams.
Number two, 34832.
DB.
I'm going to go Kansas City.
Chiefs number 10, 21, 695.
Nice bull.
Rich.
Eagles?
Eagles?
Not on the list.
Byer wins that round.
Try to go to those international games.
I was thinking the Chargers are in Brazil, right?
The Niners, I believe, are in Mexico City.
or maybe not?
I was thinking about that.
What other teams on the list there's spot?
Well, you rounded off the top five,
but after that, Falcons, number six,
with 25-947, Colts.
They're in Germany, I think.
Yeah, Vikings, Cowboys, commanders.
Yeah, I was thinking a lot.
The coastal teams that had an international game
were definitely going to be on the level.
Yeah, absolutely.
All right, nice one.
Second category, as Byer is on the board.
Ballers on the ballot.
You have five seconds to name players who are MLB leaders in All-Star voting at their position to this point.
By the way, this is today's update from Fox Sports.
They listed 28 players in their updated article, 28 players for you to name.
All right, leaders at their positions in All-Star voting.
And Coop, you're going to be up.
We're doing all of them or just the number one in each position?
If they, it's up to you guys.
I said 28 because the 28 are listed.
So, all right, here we go. Cooper in Florida.
You're going to be up first as soon as the timer starts.
Okay.
You know what, hang on a sec, sorry.
Okay, no problem.
Because now I'm poorly prepared.
Whenever you're ready, Spot.
Sub it.
Hold on.
Yeah, Spot, if you just go to that article.
Yeah, I got it.
Sorry.
Hold on.
All right, go.
That's a drop.
That's not me at Russia to you, spot.
I know.
Go.
Okay.
Coop, you're up first.
Go.
Showing.
Showing.
Showing.
Oh.
Of course.
Yes, on the list.
Buyer.
All rise.
Aaron Judge.
Aaron Judge on the list.
Yes, sir.
Rich.
Mookie Betts.
Mookie Betts.
On the list.
Covino.
Cal Raleigh.
Cal Raleigh.
On the list.
Cooper.
Jackson Hollard.
What's that?
Who's that?
Jackson Holiday.
Yep, on the list.
Yeah.
Beyer.
Pete Crowe Armstrong.
Pete Crow Armstrong on the list.
Yeah, nice pull.
Rich.
Ellie de la Cruz.
No, wait, I'm taking it back.
Okay.
I don't want to do that.
I realize that I think I...
Three, two.
All right, I'll do L.A. Dela-Krus.
Not on the list.
Sorry about that.
Covino.
Whit Jr.
Yes, on the list.
On the list.
Cooper.
Sorry.
Riley Green.
What do you say?
Riley Green.
Oh, Riley Green.
Thank you.
On the list.
Nice job.
Cooper.
Byer.
Will Smith.
Will Smith.
Dodgers.
Yes. On the list, yes.
Covino.
Is this position players only or pitchers too?
No, pitchers haven't been in L-Chats.
Oh, they haven't. That's right.
Of course, it's less.
Well, no, because I heard some of the potential league leaders here.
I'll go with Goldschmidt because I think he's up there.
Yeah.
On the list, yes.
Cooper.
One third?
Mm-hmm.
No.
No, sorry, Cooper.
All right, it's between Byer and Covino, Bayer.
Teasca Hernandez.
See you in there?
Oh, Vino is the last one standing.
Bam.
You know, I was so thrown off by this category.
I'm making, hey, Rick Shavis here, making excuses.
Stop making excuses.
Making excuses.
I know that there was an article, Danny G., that you and I were sharing about how, like, Dodgers that might not even deserve it or on it because big markets, beat out small markets.
Which is why when I said L.E. Devla Cruz, I knew I was wrong right away because part of the article was how a guy like Moogie Betts is losing to him in every category.
A nice social media buzz that I agree with completely about.
Like, fan voting for MLB is so lame.
Like, it should be like, are you good enough to be in the All-Star team?
Yeah.
That's why I just picked a lot of Dodgers.
Yeah.
How dare you.
Because I saw that Mookie got it and they're like, yeah.
And Hernandez led it was in one of the, yeah.
Spot of who we miss?
To be honest, I can't remember.
But let's see, Kirk.
O'Cunia Jr. got to be on there.
Yeah.
Yes.
Bryce Harper probably, no.
Kwan on the Guardian.
You say trout?
You didn't say trout.
No.
Ben Rice.
Okay.
Ben Rice, huh?
Ben Aros.
You say Pete Alonzo?
Pete Alonzo?
Oh, I'm good.
I miss my own guy.
By the way, if you want to check out this article, it's MSN.com Fox Sports.
Do you want to say Muncie?
No.
I miss Lendor.
I thought he was getting snub to get.
But the point is, if you're not following, there's a lot of undeserving players that just get a ton of votes.
When other dudes are having monster seasons, they just don't have the votes.
That's stupid.
On the board so far, so far, Bayer, Covino.
Third round here, king of the boards.
You have five seconds to name an NBA team that the great Dennis Rodman had a career
high of 26 or more rebounds against in a single game.
Against.
Yeah, against.
So this is no arbitrary.
I love it.
He pulled down at least 26 or more boards against these teams.
There's 15 answers on the board.
Covino, you're going to be up first starting right now.
The Knicks.
Nix.
Tavillus.
The Nets?
The Nets.
No, they're 26.
Bayer.
Lakers.
Lakers.
Wait.
Not on the list.
Wait, hold on.
Dude needs one.
If he gets what he's in.
Coupe.
Celtics.
Celtics.
Not on the list.
Start's over.
Keep going.
All right.
We'll start over.
Yeah, start over.
Let me think about this then.
There's no strategy?
No.
76ers.
76ers?
Yes.
That's on the list.
So, right with 26.
26.
Clippers?
Clippers?
Not on the list.
No, just under.
Boom.
Who is really?
I always thought he hated the Hornets, so he would get a lot of rebound.
Yeah.
Ornets were number two with 32.
Oh, good pull.
Cooper.
I love this.
Super Sonic.
Sonics.
No.
No, sorry.
I just like the.
Sonics pull.
Yeah.
Covino.
Let's do.
three
literally anyone
two phoenix sons
uh
no
that leaves byer and he wins the game
oh man
you have so many you could have named
and you made none of that
that was fun
I know we're running late
I know we'll go to damn byers update
but let's be honest
categories like that
I know are guessing
other ones are more skill based
it makes it for
makes it fun
who is weak on the boys back then
by the way pacer's
maves kings
rock atolls timber wolves magic thunder
Hap's heat, bucks, six, or spurs warriors.
You're like you knew.
I was going to say.
No, I'm telling you.
I was going to say magic.
And then I'm thinking, well, when did his career start and when did they become?
I don't know.
Whatever.
Yo, DB, let's hit us up with that up to him.
Thank you, Dan Byer.
Sorry about that.
We should have thought more Eastern conference because he played for the Bulls and Pistons, you know,
like maybe not as many opportunities.
But anyway, we got some breaking news from the NBA, the Memphis Grizzlies and
Jaron Jackson Jr.
have agreed to a five-year max extension worth $240 million.
Grizzly's also working on a buyout for Cole Anthony,
who was brought over as part of the Desmond Bain deal.
The Houston Rockets have signed Dorian Finney Smith to a four-year deal worth $53 million.
Utah Jazz and Guard Jordan Clarkson agreed to a buyout, making him a free agent.
Nix will have a second interview with Mike Brown for their head coaching vacancy.
The WMBA is expanding to 18 teams heading Cleveland, Detroit, and Philadelphia.
They should all be in place by 2030.
The Florida Panthers have signed Brad Marshawn to a six-year extension.
The Vegas Golden Knights are acquiring Mitch Marner from the Toronto Maple Leafs
says he's agreed to an eight-year deal as part of the signing trade.
Steelers acquired corner Jalen Ramsey,
tied in John Hsu-Smith, Smith, plus the seventh-round pick for safety,
Minka Fitzpatrick and a fifth round pick.
Finally, guys at Wimbledon, second-seat Carlos Alcoraz needed five sets,
but the defending champ was able to move on at day one at the All-England Club.
Back to you.
Thank you, D.B.
Thanks, Dan. Have a good one.
On your 31st victory.
And my thoughts about the greatest owner in sports, Steve Cohen.
He put out a tweet and it's got people chatting.
We do it next right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers.
And guess what?
We have some big news.
What's the news, name?
Huge news.
We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to a first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jones?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
We were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers.
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remember.
Remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your
podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.

I got to talk about my dude, Steve Cohen for a second,
before we get out of here.
The Mets have off today.
a much needed breather, I'd imagine.
But Steve Cohen put on social media after the ass whoop and the pirates gave them.
That was embarrassing.
It really was.
If the Yankees weren't playing like almost as bad, you'd be so far up on our bet right now.
Oh, my God.
Yeah, you're right.
They're not much better.
But there's about 10 teams that are all within two games of each other.
You could argue great for baseball.
The Dodgers are the only team that are a good maybe three or four games better.
But Steve Cohen, owner of the Mets.
Now, I must also say not only owner of the Mets,
lifelong Mets fan.
That's what makes Steve Cohen and billionaire.
And billionaire.
But that's what makes Steve Cohen unique in that not only he's a billionaire owner,
there's a lot of those, but grew up liking the Mets.
In fact, it was a mystery for years, believe it or not,
who owned the Mookie Wilson Bill Buckner Ball?
Turns out that Steve Cohen.
He was a rich guy that bought it years and years ago.
Owns the Mets, fans love him, the Wilpont stunk.
the Steve Cohen rules.
He put out a tweet, and I just think
this is great. Now I'll tell you why.
I think we want
our owners to feel
invested. Steve Cohen
wrote, tough stretch,
no sugar-coting it.
I didn't see this coming. I'm as
frustrated as everybody else.
We will get through this period.
Our injured pitching will come back over the
next few weeks. It is unlikely
the team's hitting with runners
in scoring position will continue at this
weak pace. Keep the faith.
Let's go Mets.
I like when the
owner is
talking the language the fans are talking.
Like there's no barrier head in the sand.
It's a business. I'm just the owner.
The fact that I know my owners equally
as frustrated, I like that.
And that's why you probably love Steinbrenner growing up
because they demanded greatness.
Yeah. I mean, most people outside looking in
don't like an outspoken owner
in that way. I mean, you hear a lot of criticisms
about that. But when they're making the right moves,
and they're putting their money where their mouth is.
I think that's what you want as a fan.
And he's the guy that's done that.
And he's not dissing any players in particular.
Yeah, shows he cares and he's aware.
And I think you like that.
Danny G.
In the NBA, NFL, NBA, don't you want your owners to sort of seem like they're as interested as you are?
You do, but at the same time, they're not the ones that get out there on the field and play.
So I'd rather hear from the players.
Yeah.
The Mets had an all players meeting and then they got smoked the next day.
So then you could argue like those things don't mean anything.
either all players meeting.
We're going to speak up. Nothing happens.
It shows he's aware.
Shows that he cares. I'll give you that.
Well, enjoy your Monday night.
We'll see you guys tomorrow. Have a good one.
Arribudan. See you in the Promise Land.
Later. Bye.

We just contributed to us.

We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired
being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it, but, you know, tired and sick.
Tired and sick.
