Cormier says after Pereira has officially said he's not fi...ghting on the historic card, that it means Jon Jones FOR SURE won't fight again. Hey, welcome to a brand new episode at DCTV brought to you by Total Wireless, the official wireless provider of UFC. They're in your corner with unlimited 5G data that will not slow you down.
Starting point is 00:04:43 So a lot has been happening in the world of mixed martial arts, but I truly believe that the most discouraging news would be, elect Pereira saying that he's not going to fight at the White House. It's discouraging because Pereira obviously is one of the biggest stars in the UFC, but also because when he fights in most cases, you know that there's going to be fireworks, most likely or possibly a finish. What's most discouraging, though, about the whole situation outside of the finishing facts, the star ability, all that, is that if he was to fight, the fight that he offered up for the White House. was a fight against John Jones. To which John Jones replied, I would love to do that. Please let me on the White House. I'm back in the testing pool.
Starting point is 00:05:44 I would want to fight Alex Pereira. So now you immediately have the American star in Jones versus the big star in Pereira. And I don't know many cases in which Pereira would be perceived as the bad guy, per se, if we're in a movie. but if you're fighting at the White House and you're fighting an American champion,
Starting point is 00:06:10 you would have to imagine that Pereira would be the villain in the story, or at least that's how he would need to be painted just for the Independence Day and close to the Fourth of July and everything, that the White House card will happen. Him saying that he's not on the card, I wonder if someone told him that that's not what they're doing. because I don't know why else he would make it public. John Jones feels that if Pereira's not fighting, he's not fighting. Because I think that they know that they both need each other
Starting point is 00:06:51 to place themselves on that White House card, which is going to be an amazing event. Here's where, here's where if Pereira's not on, if Jones is not on, How big is the UFC willing to make this card to assure that it's as big as anything we've ever seen inside the octagon? How many title fights are the UFC willing to put on to assure us that this will be the greatest fight card that we've ever seen? I remember UFC 300. You had the BMF title and then you had two title fights. You also had a card that was littered with champions.
Starting point is 00:07:32 Does the White House card warrant a fight card? of that nature where you get former champions as the first fight of the night on the prelims. We had Cody Garbrand taking on Davidson Figuredo. I believe that this car is going to be amazing. I think they're going to do everything they can to make it huge. I don't very often disagree with how things work at the UFC. I believe that doing Jones versus Pereira, that's low-hanging fruit. You already got two guys that say we want to do that.
Starting point is 00:08:13 Put them out there. It also saves you trying to find an American guy that can either headline or can be close enough to the main top of the card that it feels like the card is based around him. Because listen, man, they're going to try to make Conne McGregor fight Conna McGregor will try to get on the White House card that's just the truth
Starting point is 00:08:40 and I don't care if you love it or if you hate it if you want if you want the biggest fight card in history he has to be fighting I know most people don't want to hear that anymore Connor's done and all
Starting point is 00:08:57 if you truly want the biggest fight card ever, if you want it to surpass 300 and 200 and 100, and every other big card, you have to have him fighting. And I believe that the UFC will try to make him fight. And if he fights, he will fight Michael Chandler. So they will sit at the top of the card.
Starting point is 00:09:19 But going into that fight, Chandler is going to be a massive underdog in that fight. You still need that American guy that will be perceived to be the favorite going into the same. his fight, especially a fight if it's for a championship. Judgment Day, a colossal global
Starting point is 00:09:35 showdown between two of boxing's biggest stars, the Disruptor International Superstar, and WBA number 14 ranked cruiserweight Jake, El Gaiio Del Dorado, Paul, who's 12 and 1 with 7 knockouts,
Starting point is 00:09:52 and 2-time unified WBO, WBA, and IBF heavyweight world champion, and guys, he also was an Olympic gold medalist, the knockout artist that is Anthony Joshua. Joshua, by the way, is 28 and 4 with 25 knockouts. This matchup unites Jake Paul,
Starting point is 00:10:12 the sports most watch fighter whose showmanship has kind of, honestly, he's redefined boxing or modern boxing for the record, and he shattered records at every single turn. You can love him or hate him, but this is just the truth. Anthony Joshua is one of, Boxing's most accomplished, respected. He's also one of the most feared punchers in the world of boxing, and two-time he unified the heavyweight division.
Starting point is 00:10:38 This dude has headlines sold out stadiums across the UK and beyond. Jake Paul will face the most dangerous, the most dangerous, and the finding fight of his entire career against Joshua, Britain's two-time unified heavyweight world champion, and also the Olympic gold medal. It's crazy how Anthony Joshua's Olympic gold medal is like secondary to everything he's done in boxing because he's been so good. They'll fight in a professional heavyweight mega fight.
Starting point is 00:11:03 It's going to be scheduled for eight three-minute rounds. They'll fight in 10-ounce gloves. So watch Jake Paul versus Anthony Joshua Friday, December 19th, 8 p.m. Eastern, 5 p.m. Pacific, standard time live only on Netflix. Our good friends at Netflix, what an event. This is going to be crazy. Hey, it's us, the Jonas brothers. And guess what?
Starting point is 00:11:25 We have some big news. What's the news, name? huge news. We created our own podcast called Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast. Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to a... We're the first people to do podcasts. Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there. But this one's extra special. So how did we actually come up with a name Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it. And we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band
Starting point is 00:11:56 before Jonas Brothers was... This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes. I have a very different memory of this. We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, people could call in and say,
Starting point is 00:12:06 Hey Jonas. And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas
Starting point is 00:12:16 on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Hey, I'm Joe Rodano. You might know me as that loud guy who yells out, help on the internet.
Starting point is 00:12:28 Help! Somebody! Please! But there's so much more to me than me. I'm an actor. I'm a comedian. And recently, I've become quite the helper myself. And on my new podcast,
Starting point is 00:12:40 Hope from a Hypocrite, I'll be changing lives, helping people in need with my sage advice and thoughtful solutions. Syke! I'm a comedian. I'm not qualified to give good advice. Join me and my comedian friends. we riff, rant, recommend some of the most legally dubious advice known to man. If I'm calling you, even if you're on your phone, let it ring twice.
Starting point is 00:13:03 One ring is too scary. Oh, cream a chicken suit. Hey, cream, cream a chicken suit. This is Help from a Hypocrite, the worst advice from the dumbest people you know. Listen to Help from Hypocrite as part of the Mike Coutura Podcast Network available on the IHart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Will Ferrell's Big Money Players and IHeart Podcast presents soccer moms. So I'm Leanne.
Starting point is 00:13:28 Yeah. This is my best friend Janet. Hey. And we have been joined at the hips since high school. Absolutely. Now a redacted amount of years later, we're still joined at the hip. Just a little bit bigger hips, wider. This is a podcast.
Starting point is 00:13:39 We're recording it as we tailgate our youth soccer games in the back of my Honda Odyssey. With all the snacks and drinks. Sidebar. Why did you get hard seltzer instead of beer? Well, they had a bogo. Well, then you got it. Do you want a white collar? Come here, just a second.
Starting point is 00:13:53 Oh, what are y'all doing? Microphones? Are you making a rap album? Oh, I would. Come on. I would buy it. Cuts through the defense like a hot knife through sponge cake. That sounds delicious.
Starting point is 00:14:06 Oh, you're lucky I'm not a drug addict. You're lucky I'm not an alcoholic. You are. You are. I'm lucky I'm not a killer. I love this team and I'm really trying to be a figure in their lives that they can rely on. Oh. Listen to soccer moms on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
Starting point is 00:14:25 or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Deanna Maria Riva, actress, mother, lover, and a Gen X woman walking through life one hot flash and hormonal crying jag at a time. You ladies know what I mean. I'll bet you a perimenopausal chin here you do. So let's talk about it. Join me on my new podcast.
Starting point is 00:14:40 How hard can it be with Deanna Maria Riva, where I call on my Gen X squads from Ohio to Hollywood as we navigate midlife's most fantastic BS. All of a sudden, I'd had hanginess happening on my own. I was like, what that? What the hell is that? I was married when I had her, so I didn't even consider how empty that Ness was going to be. Mood swings, night sweats, fupas, sex drive.
Starting point is 00:15:05 Wait, what sex? Dating at 45. How high can it be, getting naked at 50 with the new guy? That one's kind of hard, you know? Well, that's lighting. They say we can't polish a turd, but we're sure going to try. So let's get blunt with laughs, tears, or tears of laughter, and dive into it, unfiltered and unbothered and ask, how hard can it be? I cannot believe I'm about to say.
Starting point is 00:15:24 Please. Please. Please. Listen to how hard can it be with Deanna Maria Riva as part of My Cultura Podcast Network available on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas. And I'm CJ Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defining the odds.
Starting point is 00:15:41 Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed. And finding ways to win no matter what. He's the smartest player to ever play the game. His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before. And he knows without Luca and Austin. Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game. We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs. I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series
Starting point is 00:16:03 because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid. He has to guard Julius Randall. And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too. Steve Nash would get that thing. That man, hell get the flying.
Starting point is 00:16:22 He run up the court, licking his fingers. why he got the ball like, after you go through a training camp with that Isaiah, you figure it out real quick. Oh, yeah. Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball. So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app,
Starting point is 00:16:37 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I think Jones should fight Pereira at 205. That would be even better. I think Jones is a good. He's a good fighter. John Jones, the heavyweight isn't John Jones the light heavyweight. You guys know that I believe,
Starting point is 00:16:54 or I know for fact that John Jones has some issues in his life outside of the octagon. I believe that the weight management and cutting weight and training really hard makes him have to be more focused in his life than when he's fighting at heavyweight. There's just way more leniency. He's not a 265-pound guy, so he doesn't have to be as locked in. He was never as good as when he was fighting at 205. I know we haven't seen the fight a heavyweight much. but he was better at 205 because he had to be so disciplined to get to 205.
Starting point is 00:17:30 I think that is where him and Pereira should fight because I believe that if Pereira fights him at heavyweight, Pereira's a little too small. And at heavyweight, Johns Jones, it just isn't as good as he is at 205. Who want the best product, you put those guys at 205. With all that being said, though, Pereira said, I guess it ain't happening. Now, it could be because they want him to fight prior to the White House. The White House ain't until June, right? We have January, February, March, April, May.
Starting point is 00:18:01 We have five UFC numbered events before we get to the White House. So it may be a case of they need him to fight. Justin Gagey is a big-time American star that should be on the White House. I believe that if he wins his fight against Patty Pimbley, there's a strong chance that from January, they turn it around, he finds himself in that fight in June. That would be awesome. But we need American guys on that fight card if that's what we're doing. And Barrera, to say he's out, that essentially means that John Jones is out.
Starting point is 00:18:35 Because I just don't know that Jones still wants to fight Tom Aspinon. I still don't. I don't believe that that's what he wants to do. And then Tom Aspenol said that he's having surgery because Cyril Gond poked him in the eyes. I didn't imagine that it was that bad, but it is. A little bit ago, I texted the champ, Aspinall, and told him that the situation sucked, and, you know, we were kind of thinking about him. And he said, let me see when that one was this. Big Tom, where's Aspinall?
Starting point is 00:19:15 Okay. Let me see this. Oh He just told me He's still struggling with his eyes, man And thanks for the message Hope you're good Just asked the champ
Starting point is 00:19:30 How his eyes are he still struggling And now he's having surgery for him I mean that is That is bad That is really really bad I didn't leave that fight feeling Like it was as bad as it was Tom told us it was that badness
Starting point is 00:19:43 Obviously it is if he's going Into surgery for it I hope We figure out a way to Jones versus Pereira together. I think that'll be a massive fight. And I believe Conda McGregor will be on the White House card. Because if you
Starting point is 00:19:59 want the biggest card of all time, it has to include him. It's unbelievable how fast things are going. In mixed martial arts, it's unbelievable that 2025 is already over. It's unbelievable that every champion that was
Starting point is 00:20:13 at the beginning of the year, the belt is not in that person's hands anymore. In that weight class, obviously, Ilya and Islam went up. There have been so many things happened in 2025 that I can't believe how quickly stuff has gone from last year where we started the year thinking, this
Starting point is 00:20:31 is normal. These guys are going to have these belts forever to now. Everybody else has these championships. It's unreal how quickly things move in mixed martial arts. With that being said, it tells me that Pereira's off today. He might be on tomorrow. It happens that quick.
Starting point is 00:20:47 Hey, really quick before I go, quick update, King of Alaska's parole date was moved to February of next year. Guys, let's pray. Let's pray that the champ gets to come home and start his life anew after everything that he's been through these last few years with what happened with him and that situation. The jail time, the parole, probation, everything. Let's pray that the champ gets back because I'm telling you, in the time that he was home,
Starting point is 00:21:15 King Velazquez was not a danger to anyone. He was doing nothing more than coaching and trying to help. the next wave of fighters that will be coming out of the northern California. So hopefully he's doing good in there. And that news hopefully bolsters him as we get into the holiday season and he gets ready to come home, hopefully at the beginning of next year. So you guys pray for Kane. Keep that support strong and make sure we make sure or make sure we are hopeful
Starting point is 00:21:44 and giving our love to the champ as it looks like he could possibly be coming to the end of this whole thing in February. Guys, like, subscribe, tell you friends about my YouTube channel. I appreciate the love and support and I will catch you on the next one. Peace. Hey guys, it's us.
