Starting point is 00:03:50 You like you, like you're skinny fat. Take it back. Today I chose violent. I'm suing. Sue them. I had to mute on for the fight. Sorry, Daniel, I did mute you. You guys are going to be lifetime enemies because of the shit you say the moment you get a microphone in your face.
Starting point is 00:04:06 Bro, you're crazy. What up, guys? We're back. It's me, D.C., your boy, Funky Ben Astrin. Ben, what's up, Ben, you know what I love the most about doing this? It's like your hair always looks like super wet. So I don't know what you're doing. You give me no notice.
Starting point is 00:04:29 You give me zero notice. I literally, I got my chainsawed up. I'm getting outside to work. You're like, hey, let's do a show. At least give me like 45 minutes of chainsawing, so then I do my work. That's for 10. You're not in the yard with your chainsaw.
Starting point is 00:04:44 I love it. You're not. I love it. I am. I sent you pictures. No, you didn't send me pictures. That's the fire. Where do you think the wood came from?
Starting point is 00:04:55 Oh, hey, what is this golf? Like, I see it. I just don't understand it. Because when I watched that one time, I saw you on TV. No, that was something else that we did. It was, it was can jam, but you used this. It was not good, not good. I was really good at can jam, I thought.
Starting point is 00:05:15 What's this golf? Like, what happens if you don't make it into the thing? You just go and hit it like a second shot? Yeah, it's just like golf. It's however many times it takes you to get from the T-box to the basket. And you have a golf course in your backyard. I have 23 holes, yeah. you're very weird you've always been an odd guy you've always been what i want dude you've always
Starting point is 00:05:36 been an odd guy right that's just kind of what makes people drawn to you but speaking of odd guys okay right there's an mma fighter who is superb at what he does but he can be considered an odd guy okay he fought israeli to sign you for the belt and said that the reason he lost him because he drunk wine, too much wine, the David Bore to fight. We made fun of him about that. He posed a picture of him and Tracy Cortez, no one at Tracy Cortez and Brian don't think I had a breakup. Bit odd.
Starting point is 00:06:11 He now calls something secret juice that he walks around. That's hilarious. I love it. He's a guy that looks like he's on the juice. He carries his secret juice. But now he is saying that only a couple weeks away from his fight against with Paul, with Hamzaa Chimaa, then he had surgery a few weeks ago.
Starting point is 00:06:31 We are speaking about the one and only Paul O'Costa. Ben, what are you doing intro to that? I thought he was talking about Sean Strickland first. Oh, no, no. We talked about Sean Strickland, you got to talk about the champ, because he's the champ, all right?
Starting point is 00:06:47 Love my age, dude's the champ. But Paulo Costa, on the other hand, said he had surgery, and he posted a picture of his arm. If I'm being honest, to me, that looked like he had staff. That's what I was thinking. I thought the same, but no, but then I found another picture because I was like, well, I need to like read up.
Starting point is 00:07:07 But so one of the things, Daniel, they never say exactly what he had surgery on. So maybe he had surgery because he had a really bad staff infection. That's the potential, right? Yes. Okay. But to me, that's what it looked like. To me, that picture of his elbow, it just looked like he had a staff infection. Well, so was that was that, was that?
Starting point is 00:07:26 I couldn't figure out was that picture after the fact or before the fact? So that picture is on every article that you look up. It says, Paul O'Costa says he had surgery three weeks ago and it shows the elbow. As it was the elbow that was worked on and he's showing where the scar was. But you and I have been around rest of the whole life. Yeah, it looks like that. That looks like a staff infection. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:52 So I found one picture and it looked, it looked like he has. And the picture we're talking about, and I'm shibble a show it looks very, very swollen, uh, infected. It's really red. There was another picture that it was kind of like clean and had a, you know, it had a bunch of stitches kind of like in a weird like circular patterns. So then it's like, okay, did he have surgery on something else, something minor? And then maybe that got infected potentially.
Starting point is 00:08:17 Yeah. I have no idea. But then, but then with Paul O'Costa, right, you kind of got to take it. Yes. Like, it's weird, right? because you don't want to question whether or not this guy had surgery. But you also want to remember who you're kind of talking about because this guy will play the game with you.
Starting point is 00:08:36 He'll play the game with you and your mind by saying all these things to just kind of throw you off the scent. But to me, like I said, look like staff. And if I'm being completely honest, if you had a routine surgery, that's less worrisome then if you had a staff infection that gets to the point that it looks like his elbow looked like that. All right, Daniel, I'm going to text you.
Starting point is 00:09:01 I found the article where I have the multiple pictures. So on the bottom, on the bottom, it's like, it looks like he just had surgery and there's a whole bunch of stitches and it's like a half circular formation-ish-looking thing. And on the first picture, that looks like, so you can kind of see his scar going away, but it looks very, very infected.
Starting point is 00:09:22 So maybe he had surgery and then it got infected later. You said the last picture? I'm going through the picture real. No, scroll down. Scroll down. Okay, yes. I see the one now. Yep,
Starting point is 00:09:34 I see the one now where it looks like a little bit of an arch, like you got a big dog kind of. It looks like. That's what a dog bite would look like. But I'm not saying it by a dog, but it's in that pattern. But Ben, let me tell you something, man.
Starting point is 00:09:48 I'm looking at these photos. I'm looking at these photos. and even in the photo where you see the Paulo sitting here, Luis, you'll have to show this on the screen. But even where you see Paulo sitting here, Ben, that's an infection. I mean, I'm no doctor. But Ben, I'm looking at it now and I'm looking at it more closely. And you can still see where the scar was, right?
Starting point is 00:10:17 You can still see that first picture. You can still see where the scar was. But it's all the redness over the top of it. That's concerned. Ben, he has a staff infection. That's from today. We're only five days out. He needs to get some medicine real quick.
Starting point is 00:10:34 No, no, no. We fight that I leave to Abu Dhabi next Monday. Oh, yeah, it's two weeks away. It's not this weekend. I leave to Abu Dhabi next Monday, so the fights a couple weeks away. He's good. You don't want to be on heavy antibiotics going into a fight like that, especially
Starting point is 00:10:53 against a guy like Paul O'Cost, I'm sorry, Hamzot Chimaya, who's going to be all over you're making you fight from the very first moment the referee says go. Well, he might not have a choice because that was really affected, so he might need to go with antibiotics real quick. Well, if he wants to make the fight,
Starting point is 00:11:10 he's going to need antibiotics. All right, guys, we are telling you as two guys that rolled around the wrestlements our whole life. That's a staffing picture. I've only had staff one time. I'm pretty clean here, Daniel. You've never had staff? You know what you gave me?
Starting point is 00:11:24 I'm going to tell, I'm going to tell the whole word right now. I've never had staff. I've seen staff. But I've seen the bad herpes. You know what you gave me herpes, you son bitch. Yes, you did. In the 2008 camp in Arizona, I had never had it. I got through my whole college career without getting it.
Starting point is 00:11:47 And you gave it to me. You are a low life. How did I give it to you? Because you did practice, and it was right there on your forehead. It was on my fore. What was I supposed to do? We're getting ready for the Olympic Games. Am I supposed to not practice?
Starting point is 00:11:59 Like two days off. Take two days off. So guys, for all your, herpes, it's not a big deal. You just take some blue pills and goes away. Not a huge deal. I get it right now. You actually kind of made me look horrible saying I have herpes. You're a terrible person.
Starting point is 00:12:11 You got to call it mad herpes, bro. Everybody doesn't think I'm, hey, you know what's crazy about that? I gave it to, when we were in fighting, I gave it to Kane, Alaska. And his wife just hated me. and she thought I gave him herpes. Runs crazy to the world. Look at herpes. Everybody has the fact that you went through,
Starting point is 00:12:31 the fact that you went through your... I got through the whole career. God, it was crazy. Yeah. How often are you guys washing mats at Missouri to never get... I don't know. Keeping it clean. Keeping it clean.
Starting point is 00:12:42 That's ridiculous. Anyway, Paula Costa has something that looks a lot worse than mad herpes to me. Yes. That's concerned. But that is best old been. if Paulo Costa's healthy
Starting point is 00:12:55 and you know how Hamz Atchamai if starts really fast he can buzz right through you if Paul Ocasta's healthy and he fights in the way that he fought Yo-a-Mero back in Anaheim, he could fight 15 minutes at a pace that not many people can really keep up to and that is why we all thought he was going to be
Starting point is 00:13:13 such a problem for Israel at Asana. So I hope that he's healthy by the time those guys step into the Akron and Abu Dhabo. Yeah, man, after watching what Strickland did at Asana, I really think Coast is a really good fighter, and he wasn't able to anything. And then you watch what Strickland did, and like Strickland added a whole bunch. Yeah, I mean, that kind of makes me maybe less, less thoughtful of Paul Costa skills and maybe more likely that Chamaev's going to win kind of easy. You think Chimajumab's going to get through him, huh? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:13:46 I think they're both really good, but like, you know, when I compare the performances, when I could. Maybe he did drink wine. I don't know. I can't confirm or deny him drinking wine. But all I'm saying is Costa did not look good at all against Adasania. And then when you compare that to like Strickland's performance against Adasania, it's just like night and day difference. What's up, guys?

Starting point is 00:16:53 Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people. I know what you're thinking. What the hell does George Bush got to do a little Kim? Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast.
Starting point is 00:17:03 I'm Sam Jek. And I'm Alex English. Each episode, we pick a here, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it. Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill
Starting point is 00:17:13 waxing all about crack in the 80s. To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack. I'm down to talk about crack all day, but just so y'all know. I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack. So I'm starting to see that there's a through line. We also have AIDS on the table right now. Thank you finishing that sentence.
Starting point is 00:17:34 I don't think there's a more important year for black people. Really? Yeah. For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history. Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. And when do you make a bow, Boll nickel just talking so much
Starting point is 00:17:53 trash about Hamzad Chimaya? Like he talks a lot about him. He just kind of says like, I'm going to show him there's levels to this because Tom Zad makes his money wrestling, right? Yeah. And Boe obviously is a much better wrestler on paper. But like he just constantly goes at Chimaya.
Starting point is 00:18:11 It's weird. I know we didn't talk to talk to or talk about that. I would not like to see Bo fight him yet. I just believe that Boe may be getting a little excited because of the level of success he's having. But he ain't in there with guys like Chamaia. In reality is, he hasn't fought the level of fighter, Chimaya fought in his early fights quite yet because the last guy he fought wasn't very good. I like the kid. He's a nice guy, but he wasn't very good.
Starting point is 00:18:40 I think Boe needs to maybe slow down a little bit. No fight at some point, but it's a little early for that. I think, but what I like about that is Bo is talking trash to a lot of people. So he's setting these fights up for down the road, right? And it might take him, it might take him a year, 18 months, two years. But if things go right, if things go to want, what he wants to them to go, that is, he's going to be fighting one of those people. I hope that is down the line.
Starting point is 00:19:06 I just don't want it to be right now. Hey, were you going to rush him? Was it easy? Was it easy taking guys down when you were fighting? Was it like easier to be affected? Yeah, yeah. Well, I mean... Not the good guys, though.
Starting point is 00:19:19 Not the good guys. Even David, I took Damien Maya down four or five times. And then obviously the one time I got caught on the wrong inside of the exchange. And I just kind of underestimated his back skills. I've been practicing that tactic so well. But I have crushed that in practice and it didn't execute in the fight, unfortunately. No, and I think Bose on that level and like Chimaia's on that level. Mokachev does it really well.
Starting point is 00:19:44 Yeah. that's crazy all right ben so dylan danis and logan paul are scheduled to fight i am of the belief that dylan danais does not show up to this fight i don't think he shows up right i've seen him
Starting point is 00:20:01 scheduled for multiple fights over the course of the few last years and he has not fought since he had that fight in bellatory but it's not even just that Dylan Danes talks a lot. This one with Logan Paul has gotten really personal. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:20 What's weird to me is it's personal, but they're fighting a type of fight that I don't think Dylan Dennis is going to be that good at. Because when you watch him in the Bellator, he pulls guard. He pulls guard.
Starting point is 00:20:36 He's not a great boxer. So why is he talking trash to this guy and he's going to be in a boxing fight with him. I don't understand what he's doing. Yeah, I don't understand either. I don't really understand a lot of things Dylan Dennis does, but he did win the trash talk because he got inside Logan Paul's head so bad. The Logan Paul is...
Starting point is 00:20:56 It's suing him. They're suing him. That's insane. I don't like it at all. And, you know, I guess I take extra offense. I thought Logan's brother, and he tried talking about my wife. And it wasn't a big deal. You know what?
Starting point is 00:21:09 because I got a great wife and a lover, and we have no issues. But if your wife has a checkered past, we'll say, and Dylan Dennis has provided us plenty of receipts of this, that maybe you're a little more self-conscious of your significant other. And I think that's what we're seeing happening to the point where they're so self-conscious about it. They have to sue someone to make them be quiet because they don't like their past deeds. Hmm. That's good.
Starting point is 00:21:34 Well, so Daniel, you guys all made fun of me for that post, that loving post, they made him a long wife. Because I didn't mention, I didn't mention her looks. I mentioned that she's a great lady. I love it. So, I mentioned,
Starting point is 00:21:47 hold on, hold, I'm going to get to this. Listen, and they think this thing, Logan Paul's fiance or, for the record, your wife is beautiful.
Starting point is 00:21:55 For the record, your, Amy is a beautiful person. I agree. I think she's a beautiful lady. I'm just, guys, I'm telling you,
Starting point is 00:22:03 Ben, as a beautiful wife, I just don't know if over the course of his life, he's dated women that are Instagram models or something. You didn't know me before my wife. Get on. Dude,
Starting point is 00:22:16 listen, I don't know if Ben has just dated the Panelope Cruz is and the most beautiful for women in the world for him to act as a people. Hold on. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:22:26 She's a beautiful soul and woman, and I do know Ben knows that his wife is a beautiful lady. I'm just giving him shit. But it doesn't matter. I mean, I don't know. I don't know if maybe you're trying to do it.
Starting point is 00:22:37 right now. You're actually trying to do it again. It doesn't matter. Yeah, I'm going to do it again right now. If your wife has a checker pass, it doesn't matter how hot she is. You're going to end up suing somebody. We're fighting them because you're insecure about the past. If it wasn't a big deal, you wouldn't make a big deal about it.
Starting point is 00:22:54 You're suing someone. That was my whole point. Find a woman in your life that you can be proud to be married to. That's that simple. You're welcome for all the life advice. cut no i'm not gonna fight logan paul now you're gonna fight logan paul next dog you don't stop i don't listen i'm speaking truth if he gets mad about this you're getting sued bro you're like all i said was dylan danis posted some pictures
Starting point is 00:23:22 can't assume you think dillandis is actually correct in this i mean i'm not saying i post pictures it's it's pretty it's a pretty evil thing to do but um it's evil but like all i'm saying is you couldn't find those pictures of my wife. You know why, Daniel? Because they don't exist. That's what you told me. You told me that. You said, honestly, Daniel, it's not like you had to look very far to find those pictures
Starting point is 00:23:46 that Dylan Dan is found. Yes. Right? So it's not like Dylan had a private investigator go and find these things. I don't know Logan Paul's girlfriend, our wife. I don't know who it is. I have no idea who he's dating. But obviously, Dylan did touch on a subject that isn't very fun for Logan.
Starting point is 00:24:03 I don't know. I guess the only issue I have with it is in fight build, it can get ugly. We have seen it for as long as we've seen fights. I just think this might be the first time I've ever seen anyone get sued over something like that. I don't think I've ever seen anybody take it to that point. And I don't know if it is the insecurities about, well, this is my woman now. I don't want to talk about the people she was with before. But the reality is everybody has a pass, right?
Starting point is 00:24:33 nobody's without a pass. So it's like for Dylan to treat it as if, I mean, I don't know who Dylan Dennis's girlfriend is. I'm pretty sure she has a pass. I don't know why Logan Paul just doesn't go and find pictures of his girlfriend. I'm sure he's dated some unsavory characters also. It seems like you guys are now rolling in the mud. So go rolling the mud together.
Starting point is 00:24:56 Right? Right. If he's going to roll in the mud with you, Logan, go rolling the mud with him. because I don't know what I don't know how the perception is Oh my God We're too much fun But you know this goes into like
Starting point is 00:25:10 You were on a college team You're also part of a fight camp There's certain guy I'm not gonna name names on here But there's certain guys There's one guy that we both know If you if you game shit He reacted a lot to it right
Starting point is 00:25:23 So what do you do? What do you do? You obviously give that guy More than anyone else You give him more You give it to him more So Logan's opening the door for Dylan to do more
Starting point is 00:25:32 But you can't if you sue it. You can stop him. The way to stop him is to sue him. So maybe Dylan didn't win the trash talk because now he's handcuffed. He can't say it. Yeah. And he's got to pay these bills. Last thing before I let you go.
Starting point is 00:25:56 Last thing, first of, Bill is not fighting, guys. So we're talking about it. so many people are doing it. I don't think there's any way Dylan Dennis walks into a ring with him. I thought he said he was fighting again now. If he fights him, it's going to be the worst thing because I think Logan Paul is going to knock him out really bad. And if Logan Paul, if Dylan Danis doesn't fight
Starting point is 00:26:19 and Mike Perry becomes a guy that Logan Paul has to fight, that's worst case scenario for Logan Paul. Yeah. Because Mike Perry is out of his mind. And Mike Perry may knock Logan Paul out. So it's like, Logan is a bit of a bit of a fight. a weird situation here because he hates the guy he's supposed to fight who he can be and he who he has sued but then there's a guy on the back in that he doesn't want to fight because
Starting point is 00:26:42 Mike Perry is a psychopath and Mike Perry's going to be in there trying to take your hand off and he might knock him out so he finds himself in a bit of a weird spot because if Dylan doesn't fight and then Logan pulls out of the fight could you imagine the perception oh my god so bad it's going to look so bad Ben before I let you go Connor McGregers in the U-Sada pool, my guy. All people can now celebrate. McGregor is coming back, and he is now going to be eligible to fight at UFC 300, the biggest milestone will be reached for the UFC in the first quarter of 2024. And now Connor is eligible for that fight card.
Starting point is 00:27:27 One, you're a liar, Ben. You said Connor was never getting back in the U.S. Well, he hasn't made the walk yet. You won Ben, you said Connor wasn't hit back into Eastside a pool. He wasn't going to fight again. Okay, fair. And two and two, for the record, do you believe he is going to headline UFC 300? And if so, is it the right call?
Starting point is 00:27:50 Oh, man, that's, that is an interesting. Okay, is it the right call? So I didn't think Connor was going to fight again, which he's in the pool now. so he is going to be eligible right around UFC 300. He has lost three of his last four fights. I wish I could say Michael Chandler had one more fights lately, but I think he's lost either his last one or, no, he beat Ferguson.
Starting point is 00:28:16 He beat Tony Ferguson. He kicked him in the face. He's lost two of his last three. So it seems weird that I would highlight UFC 300, although it is going to be the biggest fight in the card. So it's second or third down the card, and there's two title fights. That's going to feel weird also.
Starting point is 00:28:32 I have no idea. Because usually they want a title fight on top. Would they put McGregor over the title fights? I think so. That's going to be weird. Yeah. I mean, I think so. Do they create another belt?
Starting point is 00:28:47 Is it another BMF situation? Oh, interesting. Yeah. You need to put you in the bass making room. That's what they need to do. Put you in the basket maker room. You can be headed creative. You know,
Starting point is 00:28:59 that new company, TKO with the WVE and the UFC, KUBianna Kahneman versus Michael Chandler for the United States Championship. That's it. You just call the United States. United States Championship. That's awesome. The United States. Hey,
Starting point is 00:29:15 Conno Granger's headline the top four UFC pay-per-views of all time. So, USC 300 is going to sell regardless, but if you put McGreg on the top of it, might just be icing on the cake. I think if you're one of those champions and McGregor goes above you,
Starting point is 00:29:35 I think you don't really care that much because you're going to make a whole bunch of money. Here's the thing, right? Connor don't even like sharing cards with champions. I heard that he doesn't like to share with champions because then he's paying all of them, right? So the budget gets really, really high, which is crazy. All right, guys, that was fun, Ben. It's been too long, bro. You got to stop dodging me.
Starting point is 00:29:57 You got to stop dodging. me. You have to. You gotta stop dodging me. I need work. I need work. Guys, I'm Daniel Corby. That's my boy, Ben Astrid. Until next time. See ya. Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite.
