Guys, I'm here with Marlon Chito Vera. Challenges for the Bannon Way Championship on Saturday against Sugar, Sean O'Malley, my friend. Thank you for checking in with me. I appreciate it. Anytime. Cheeto, I've been watching all of your stuff this week.
Starting point is 00:03:39 You seem very gracious to be in this position. How soon or how recently did you start to make that idea that at some point you can be champion or fighting for a belt start to feel like reality? I mean, man, they announced it's fighting November. So it's been a long time pretty much working for it. It's a big camp. But I feel like the last few weeks
Starting point is 00:04:04 you wake up and you're like, holy shit, it's about to happen. And it's big, man. It's big. It's something I worked my whole entire life. I didn't have the most easiest path, especially where they came from. They don't have the craziest background on any martial art, but I just wanted it bad. I just wanted it bad. And I won this my whole life.
Starting point is 00:04:27 It's been 10 years trying to get here. And Saturday night, I'm not going to just let it go. When you guys fought together in Boston, did you think, okay, this is what's going to get me my championship opportunity? I thought it was a big chance. I thought myself, I need to secure a win. Nothing matter how it is. And I was supposed to fight a hood of first. He pulled out.
Starting point is 00:04:53 And I was like, I don't care who it is. Give me sign somebody a new guy. Give me a top 30 guy. I just need a win. Because the storyline. I mean, these days, everything is based on drama and history. It really is. And I was in the fortunate position.
Starting point is 00:05:11 I'm the only one that beat him. I'm like, if I get my hand raised on Boston, I'm fighting for a tariff. There's an 85% chance. And I think me and my team were right. We used like, let's pick a win that night, and we fight for the bell. You know, when you came into this, you were on the ultimate fighter, on the opposite team of Kane and I, and I never envisioned this, right, for you.
Starting point is 00:05:38 Because like you said, you weren't a guy that had the biggest background in martial arts, but you did work hard, and you were always kind of a cool guy. Like, how much are you aware that people kind of like Cheeto? Like, people just seem to like you. Like, what is that? I just feel it's being authentic,
Starting point is 00:05:54 having a good person at it, and the main thing to me is just be nice to people. Like, don't just be nice to the people that is somebody or is on top because it's easy to be nice to them. Honestly, it's not like you're nice. You have to be nice to them. I mean, be nice to everybody.
Starting point is 00:06:12 You know the only person you weren't nice to? And this was crazy, guys. I have been in some situations where I've seen some people gamble. I have never seen anyone gamble more money than Cheevera. You were not nice to that crabs dealer at one time. You lost $15,000
Starting point is 00:06:30 with me and justice. and playing craps? I mean, you lost $15,000. Yes, you. That was Gathe's number. No, you lost $15,000. You were not, you were nice to everyone but that, that, that, that, that, that, craps dealer.
Starting point is 00:06:44 You treated that man very bad. No, I was not drunk. I was. You lost $15,000. Me and you make eye contact about Gathe's taking this much of a hundreds, and I told you, this is what I told you. If I'm willing to do that, I'd rather buy another house. And you laugh.
Starting point is 00:07:02 It was Gagey. Also, it wasn't you spending $15,000? Are you for sure? Are you fucking wrong? No, seriously. I don't gamble at all, brother. I know. I'm running by a new wife.
Starting point is 00:07:13 I'm not doing that. You had a couple hundred bucks from Justin, and you were nervous. Why? Well, because I had 300 bucks on my pocket. And he was like, come on, bro. I was saying, fuck off. I'm not losing my... I got three kids, bro.
Starting point is 00:07:26 I'm not doing this shit. It was... Bro, my Gatchis did. It spent a lot of fucking money. It was funny. I knew that would light you up. Yeah. I was like, whoa.
Starting point is 00:07:34 You didn't have that money. Your wife would kill you. She was listening like, wait a minute. She's sitting there like, wait, did this dude lose that money? She's like, I did a new purse. Fuck that. She's about to kick your ass. I was surprised about how he gambled.
Starting point is 00:07:49 He didn't want to say it. He's making way too much money. Okay. Everybody loves Cheeto, right? You get along everywhere, except for with Sean O'Malley. Why? I mean, please don't me that. I am so hot laughing at this fucking guy.
Starting point is 00:08:05 Why? I mean, first and first. He's on my wayglass, right? I'm not friendly to anyone on my wayclos. I don't care who you are. I don't care how nice you are. If you're in my wake class, you're a person that is willing to take
Starting point is 00:08:18 that plate from my table. So, fuck you. Let's start there. But with him, it's like, I don't have anything against him. I just don't give a fuck about him. I don't, like a lot of fighters get mad about other fighters getting publicity. But that's what he, I just had him in here a little bit ago.
Starting point is 00:08:37 He said, ask you about it. He said he thinks it might be a little bit of jealousy on your behalf as to why that, why you act like that towards him. He said because for him, he doesn't, he doesn't, he doesn't, he doesn't, he said it to him, it's not that big a deal. But he said to you, it's more personal because maybe you're a little bit jealous of the life that he's a crew. That's how stupid he is. on the, he did something with Okamoto, and he was saying it's personal for him. I have never said it's personal for me.
Starting point is 00:09:07 I don't give a focus in front of me. My only goal is to really hurt you. Like in real life, I want to kill you. But it's because you're my opponent. If there's someone that is not my opponent, I can shake your hand and fuck off. But I don't see you two shaking hands. If even when you aren't,
Starting point is 00:09:26 even when you two aren't scheduled to, fight, I don't see you as Sean O'Malley palin. Because he's funny. But what's just odd though? Because you would seem like you two, you both love to smoke, you both love to kick back and chill. Like you would seem to be two dudes that would get along pretty good. Yeah, maybe that's a problem.
Starting point is 00:09:41 We do the same thing. I don't know. But honestly, going back to that, I don't care if he gets a party record. Like a lot of people talk shit about that. Like a lot of people talk shit like, oh, you get easy road, you get, I don't give a I'm focused on my life, on my shit. You think his records, padded? I mean, if you see before the last two fights, yes?
Starting point is 00:10:05 Before Yan and... How impressed were you by him, though, in the Peoria Yon fight and in the Al Jermaine fight? In the Yom fight, I was more impressed about with Jan becoming a wrestler. Again, I never wrestled in the... He took him down? Yeah. But he never wrestles.
Starting point is 00:10:23 He always fights. Yeah. And he kind of, like... Also, the friend, the Jan is, like, three feet tall. That frame is hard to fight a taller guy like that. I can match his range. And with Alio, I mean, great wrestler, you know that, great Jiu-2, but the guys can't have a base to fight.
Starting point is 00:10:41 I mean, you don't just throw a right hand, like open face, just like, we're not in the streets. Yeah. He's just very low-level striking. That's where I can match him or anyone in the division. I can't start with anybody. That's where he believes, that's where many believe the fight is going to be determined. term. If you can stay with them in the stand-up, you have an opportunity to do, but if you can't, then Shauna Malley will do what Sean LaMalley has done before. The first time you guys fought,
Starting point is 00:11:07 I fought on the same part. I remember watching in the back, and the fight's going on, and it's kind of playing, you know, you're not, you had, you haven't gotten started yet, because traditionally that's what you do. It takes your time to build into the fight, and then he throws the kick, he hurts his leg, and, uh, or you kicked him first, And then he threw a kick and he heard his leg. But he never has acknowledged that you won that fight because of the freakness of the injury. The only two people that know what was going on in that out there on our YouTube.
Starting point is 00:11:39 No coaches, no anybody else. What did you take from that first interaction with him, being locked in there with him? What did you take from it saying, okay, I know what I would do if I have to fight this guy again? He don't have a hard soul. Like you can look through his eyes and he's a little bit of a cut inside. So he's a, like, I'm willing to really get fucked up and say, fuck you, speed in the ground and say, bring it.
Starting point is 00:12:07 He's not willing to do that. And he can say whatever the fuck he wants. He's a great athlete. He can fight. He punch hard. But he don't have what I have inside. And Saturday night we find out. At the end of the day, we can say everything we want.
Starting point is 00:12:21 You still need to make the fucking walk. And you still need to get in there and go hard. And I'm ready, man. I'm really ready. DEMs. Sean said y'all had a conversation in the DMs. He told me specifically to ask you about it. Yeah, he texts me.
Starting point is 00:12:34 What happened? He's funny shit. I sent me a selfie. Huh? You sent him a selfie of you? Yeah. What did he text you? Wait, you sent a selfie of what?
Starting point is 00:12:44 You saw me? I was driving. Well, what did he text you? He was talking shit. He was like... Oh, he was trying to talk shit to you, direct messages? Yeah. I sent my selfie back.
Starting point is 00:12:54 Come on, come on, let me, let me. Where are you following that? What did he say to you? He actually got, he actually got weird and personal. Oh, he got personal? Well, not personal, but he brings weird shit. I show you. Yeah, let me see that.
Starting point is 00:13:09 I'm sure he showed you, right? Huh? He showed you? He never showed me. He told me to ask you. Oh, if he don't show you, I would be. No, no, come on. Oh, Chito, you can't do that.
Starting point is 00:13:17 That's really blueballing me. I thought he's blueballed me bad there. He showed me. He showed me. He didn't show you. I'm telling you he showed me. Say what he said? Well, I'm not kidding.
Starting point is 00:13:25 Well, he got a little personal and weird. Yeah. He got a little personal. So, like, then you sent him. It was a picture of you, like, driving. I sent him a picture of me driving. Yes, it was a picture of you driving. It was your response, but it was like, it was a little personal and weird what he said.
Starting point is 00:13:39 Let me see. I mean, he's okay when it be in public because he, you know, he told me to ask you. Yeah, he's weird. He's a weird guy. He is? Yeah. I won't say publicly what it says. Bro, I got someone issue.
Starting point is 00:13:51 Let me see if I feel. From him? No, you know you can search that. Hey, don't do my phone. Just put it to the top and put Sean O'Malley in the search bar. Fuck the guy. Oh, you won't give it to me now. Dude, you're such a blue baller.
Starting point is 00:14:03 If you were a woman, you would never have a boyfriend because you're a blue baller. If I'm a woman. I'm a guy, dude. Yeah, you are. And a pretty one, too. I thank you. That's my boy right there. Three meals on Friday, right?
Starting point is 00:14:15 Huh? So, Chito. What does Saturday night look like for you with Sean? If you are able to become the champion, that would be a culmination of a lifelong journey, what does that look like to you? Man, 10 years dreaming about this moment and it just feels good. It feels good to being in this position about to do that because I know what I'm capable to do and I know how hard it works for this.
Starting point is 00:14:43 Yeah. All bullshit aside, at the end of the day, you have to lock that catch and get in there. So I'm ready to go. Any significance here, South Florida, Latin, big Latin community, does that matter at all to you? At the end of the day, like the great Ruth Rubin said, don't do it for the audience, do it for yourself. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:04 The audience comes last. Yeah. Hey, Cash, one last question before we go. Go for it. Is Mexican food considered Latin food? I don't know. Dude, I'm telling you. I would say no.
Starting point is 00:15:15 I feel like we are like, so for our weighing show, we're doing our top favorite Latin dishes. But they are insisting that Mexican food is considered Latin food. I don't think so. No, it's not. But I think we run the risk of being called racist when you put everybody in the same category. Bad, bad, bad. A brown guy.
Starting point is 00:15:35 A black guy can say that. But not the people producing the show. You know what I'm saying? Like, it's not the people producing the show. Latin food to me is Cuban, Puerto Rican, Dominican, like this, right? I'm with you, yeah. Anybody? That?
Starting point is 00:15:48 We have any Mexicans here? Okay, you tell us. Is it considered Latin food, Mexican food? Of course. Yeah. It is. Well, wow. Well, we were wrong.
Starting point is 00:15:58 We were wrong. We said we're sorry. We're sorry. Mexicans, you are part of us too. So, Cheeto Vera, challenges for the Bannamway Championship in the world this weekend. This is Mr. Cool right here. We all love Cheeto. Everybody loves Cheeto.
Starting point is 00:16:11 Let's see if Cheeto can get the job done on Saturday night as he takes on Sean O'Malley live for Miami. Hit the buy button. Tap into everything Cito's doing and make sure you watch this guy, chase down greatness on Saturday night. Cito, thanks again for checking it. I appreciate you, as always. Until next time, peace.
