This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Hey, guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
And guess what?
We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
But, you know, tired and sick.
Tired and sick.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you.
you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel
and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you
funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with
Robert Smigel and Friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano. It's our favorite time of the year on our podcast point game, the playoffs.
We're digging into the biggest surprises of the season. And I'm looking back on some of my greatest
playoff moments. If we didn't talk ever again, I was crying. You just understood.
That's how personal it got. Wow. Then after that game seven, Marquis come into you, he's like,
you know I love you, dog. You know, it's all love. This was just playoffs. This was just basketball.
So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Hey, I'm Deanna Maria Riva, and on my new podcast, How Hard Can It Be?
I call on my Gen X squad from Ohio to Hollywood as we navigate Midlife's most fantastic BS.
Unfiltered conversations from night sweats to futas to scheduling sex.
Wait, what sex?
Is it just me or does every woman my age want to look at Pinterest instead of having sex sometimes?
They say we can't polish a turd, but we're sure going to try.
so let's get blunt with laughs, tears, or tears of laughter.

Let's go.
What's up, guys?
I'm back home finally.
Look at me.
It's been a rough month at the Ultimate Fighter.
The boy has been,
it was something.
Let's just say it was something.
I like the experience.
I like to coach and I love being around Chayo
and everything,
but it was something.
Busy, busy.
But,
I'm glad to be home.
Glad to be able to start coming back directly to you guys,
especially on some of these things I've been happening in mixed martial arts.
So UFC 313 saw Justin Gachi return successfully back to the Octagon,
beat Rafael Fazeve in what was a typical Justin Gachie fight.
Look, there were so many people that wondered if he could still fight,
if he could still do this and the other.
He answered that.
But by winning that fight,
When you're a guy like Justin Gagyi, Dustin Porier,
it really is all about timing of when you're going to get something.
So as soon as he went to fight,
obviously people start asking if he wants to fight Islamahadchev.
You know what's funny is how short memory we as fans have
because right before JG went into that fight,
I had people from ES Stephen A all the way up on first take
to the fan that I would see in passing in Las Vegas
telling me they were concerned about Justin,
concerned about his ability to take a punch.
Does he still have it?
He wins one fight,
and now people are saying,
let's give him a title fight.
It's like the way things change so quickly,
to me is always surprising
because I get having a short,
memory as a fan.
But we were talking about him being retired a fight ago.
Now, I am not saying I don't want him to get a championship opportunity.
I'm just saying how quickly things can change in a sport of mixed martial arts,
especially when you have a star attached your name like Justin Gage.
Does he deserve a title fight?
In terms of resume right now?
No.
Because actually, so he's.
beat Dustin Porre to win the BMF title.
He beat somebody right before.
Hold on.
Let me see.
Let me jump on my deal here.
So he beat just, he beat Dustin Porier to win the BMF title.
He lost his championship fight to Kabib, obviously, but that was 2020.
So when I look back at JG's record, right?
In 24, he lost to Max Holloway.
in 23, he beat Dustin
Poor, he beat Dustin Poria
and he beat Rafael Fazeev.
22, he lost to Oliver.
So he lost his title fight against Oliver.
Won two fights, then lost.
One another one.
So he's essentially three and one in his last four fights.
When you got to, like again,
when you're a star like Justin Gaichi,
that can get you a title fight.
But then everybody else is pissed off.
Armand Sarukyam's pissed off, right?
Says he doesn't deserve.
after beating the number 11 ranked guy in the world on short notice.
But the problem is for Armand is that he didn't fight Islam in Los Angeles.
And then right away, the organization says he's not fighting for the belt next.
So it really does put him in a situation where you went from number one contender to really not having much say.
Ilya Teporia has gone up to 155 pounds
And he seems to be a guy
That could fight for a belt
You know
Or could fight for the title
Ilius
When I tell you it's going to surprise you
Wouldn't be surprising if it's him versus Islam
Because him versus Islam is kind of a fight
That you almost expect
Right
Almost expect
Whenever you have
A guy like
the champion going up to another weight class
and have a dominant champion
that's beating so many guys
in that weight class that he's going up to.
I don't know that Islam should fight him first.
Because for Makachev,
he goes and beats
he goes and beats Iliate Tuporia.
Right.
People will say he beat Volk, he beat Ilionate Teporea,
he beat Charles Olavera,
and he beat...
Hanato Moincano.
Seems pretty good.
That's five title fight wins.
But in that, it would say,
well, he's defended the belt three times
against feather weights.
Because at the end of the day, guys,
it doesn't matter what you do or in high regard
you hold someone.
The fact that he was the champion
in the lower weight class
is what's going to be pointed to
the moment Islam beats him.
Because anytime you have a dominant champ,
anytime, you look for reasons
to discredit them.
Happens all the time.
he beat a featherweight
and he beat a featherweight
and then he beat a guy
that was ranked lower
on a day's notice
people will always try to like
find holes
and his title rain
when those title rain holes aren't there
he is the best fighter in the world
he is no more pomp on guy in the world
and we should respect that
but Justin Gachi seems to be
the guy that could be next
but Iliotipo is there
also Armand Sarukian
has a claim to maybe getting a title fight
Yo, 155 right now is a complete mess.
It's a mess with this mess.
I would say for me personally to make it more clear
to add some direction to the weight class.
Hell guys, we still got Dustin Porre out here
who says he's only fighting legends.
There's only certain guys that fit the idea of who he wants to fight.
as a retirement fight, even though we thought the last fight was a retirement fight.
He told us all that he was done, right?
He told us all that he was done, but he's back now,
and nobody's mad that Dustin Porre is going to continue to fight.
But only a few guys fit the bill of who he wants to see the last time he steps into the
oxygen, especially if it's in New Orleans.
So here's what I got for you.
God, because I even forgot about a whole of error.
Dude, it's an abundance of riches at 155 pounds.
Olivera is
I thought he was supposed to be next
for Islam
Oliver
New Bronx
alright here we go Charles Oliverer
Charles Olivera this is crazy
this guy I didn't even get into New Bronx
Oliver was supposed to fight for the belt
right after he beat Michael Chandler
can't make the fight
it turns into Armand Siruquiana
who before was supposed to fight for the belt
before Olivera got the chance but said he didn't want it because he needed a full camp.
He's out of the fight in Los Angeles because he got sick.
His back was hurt.
He can't go.
In steps to Anato Maikano.
Justin Gache meets Raphael Fazeve.
Oh my God.
So, yeah, Ilya goes up.
It's crazy.
Here's what I would suggest, and I'm not a matchmaker.
Ilya takes on Charles O'Levara.
Justin Gaichi goes into the title fight
with Makachov, right?
Poria fights against
he won't fight Mochauner from the same gym.
Chandler's fighting Patty Pimbled.
I can't even match me this thing.
Start again.
DePorya versus
Islamahatchev.
Yes.
Book it.
Gachie versus
Sirukian.
Book it.
Whoever wins
fights Makachio.
That's it, right there.
That's it.
To Poria gets the shot.
Sparuki and Gaichi,
win against the title fight.
We're back in line at 155.
Oliver, go down to New Orleans.
Fight Dustin Porre.
If you win again,
you're next after that guy.
There it is.
That's it.
Olivera fits the bill.
Oliver is a former champion, a big name.
He could be the type of guy,
Porreier would want to fight in his retirement fight.
But just to recap, guys.
Just to recap in the last year, what happened at 155?
Macachov is the champ.
Olivera pulls out, in steps vote.
Makachov knocks him out.
Saruki then goes and beats Olivera.
They offer him a title fight.
He says, no, I need time, right?
After Dustin Pori just beat Binwasan de knee.
When he says no, Dustin Pori then slips into a title fight
fights Islamahachev in Newark.
Islamahchev wins.
Good.
Olavera comes back in November,
beats Michael Chandler,
resets himself up as a guy could fight for the belt.
But wait, guys,
that goes to Armand Syruquian,
who just beat Charles Olavera.
All the while, Ilya Tuporio is beating everybody up at 145.
Armand Syruquian gets announced as the guy that's fighting for the belt
at 155 pounds in January.
He can't fight.
In steps Anato Moikano, Makachov beats him.
Armand says, I want my chance.
UFC says you don't get your chance.
Take a step back.
Now, you have Olavera, who didn't get his fight.
You have Surukin didn't get his fight.
I'llihan finishes Max Holloway.
He says, I'm going up to 155.
Then Justin Gachi beats Raphael Paziv.
Four guys now, all standing on the doorstep of a title fight.
That's 155 right now.
And I'm here for it.
because it's all fun fights with all tremendous guys.
But I'm matching it for you.
Gachi, Sarukyan, Olivera versus Poria,
Makachev versus Ilya, and there you go.
Guys, 155 is a mess, and everybody's got something to say.
And that's the best.
That's what makes it interesting, and that's what makes it fun.
And we still got patty to batty next month against Michael Chandler,
who if he wins, we'll say, hey, guys,
I'm here.
Welcome me to the party.
I want to be involved in the conversation
and rightfully so.
It really is crazy.
155 pounds.
But I'm here for it and I love it.
So guys, happy to be home.
Happy to be back talking to you guys directly.
Until next time, like, subscribe,
and tell your friends about my YouTube channel.
Peace.
