Starting point is 00:04:20 terms, and responsible gaming resources. All right, guys, I got a bad voice because I'm in wrestling camp right now, but it's okay. We still got to bring it. A lot of change. just to UFC 303. Conne McGregor's out. You know,
Starting point is 00:04:41 you know what's interesting to me is that last week when that press conference didn't happen, we should have got very concerned. And I think the optimism that we held for McGregor is why
Starting point is 00:04:57 we didn't recognize what was in front of us earlier. Because I think everyone was a bit hopeful that Connor McGregor would still fight when in reality, it probably never was happening. Michael Chandler has not waited almost two years to fight Connor McGregor. That's a long time.
Starting point is 00:05:18 And if Michael Chandler is going to continue to wait for Connor McGregor, I don't know how long that's going to be been asking yesterday on Funkie and the champ said. He thinks that it's over for Connor. He doesn't believe that we'll ever see Connor fight again. I was trying to disagree with him, but now that it's a reality, it's very worrisome. I don't know what my thoughts are about his fighting future, especially knowing what his life looks like outside of fighting. This guy lives the biggest life in the world. He lives a life that's so extravagant, that's so fun, that is so filled with adventure and other things.
Starting point is 00:06:04 I don't know people could blame him if he wants to walk away from this. You got to think and weigh your two options of life. One, be on yachts, boats, parties, to having all the fun in the world. Now you're an actor. Or spend months and months at a time in a gym preparing to fight absolute killers. Ask yourself as a human being. What would you choose? Most of you would choose option A where you're not sweating as much.
Starting point is 00:06:37 And if you're sweating, you're jumping into oceans right after to cool down. You're eating caviar and the most expensive food in the world. Or you're in a gym every single day fighting. Most people would not even look at option B. Michael Chandler does not live that life. Michael Chandler still needs to fight. Michael Chandler, it seems like he needs Connor McGregor, but I don't know that he does.
Starting point is 00:07:06 Because when you talk to Mike, his goals have not changed. He still wants to be world champion. I don't know that even if he wins, if this fight moves him closer to being world champion. He's got some options. He's got some things to weigh going forward because I don't know that he should wait anymore.
Starting point is 00:07:28 I think it's time to move off of this. And I believe that the overwhelming sentiment is that he's done. I thought Connor McGregor was going to come back because to me, Connemogregor is a fighter. But I'm starting to think I know skill for skill. The Conno McGregor of 2015 isn't the same guy. But I thought that the star was still the same. I just don't know that he wants to fight.
Starting point is 00:07:58 especially right now. You know, they said this thing might get rescheduled for later in the year, hopefully, but I think most people are very skeptical that we will see Connor McGregor in 2024. And if we don't, the more time that passes, the less likely it is that he ever steps in the octagon again.
Starting point is 00:08:20 But UFC 303 has a new main event. Alex Pereira is taking on your prohachka. Alex Pereira is in a position right now where he's the world champion at light heavyweight he was the world champion at middleweight and he is a star in the UFC I will tell you this there are levels of star in this game
Starting point is 00:08:43 John Jones lives a level above most of these guys Connor McGregor lives in his own planet those guys are superstars They are global superstars, no matter where they go in the world, they are known. That's the truth with Pereira to a degree. And Shaan O'Malley, right next to him. Islamahachev right next to him.
Starting point is 00:09:08 There are guys that have star quality. Israel, Adasanya, superstar. These guys are stars. I believe that if Alex Pereira goes out and takes his fight, wins, beats your Pohashka, he will become a superstar. because now he's headlined two of the last three paper views, one being the biggest, most marketed fight in UFC history
Starting point is 00:09:35 where he knocked on Jamal Hill. He's not only winning. He's winning impressively. If he can go out there and beat Europe, Hoskin the way that he did last time, there are way more eyes on Alex Pereira at his time. If he can do what he did last time, so many more people are aware of him, he could go to the moon.
Starting point is 00:09:57 And I believe that that's going to be his goal to try to be or dominate year in the way that he did before. I think Prohachka has to change some things, be a little more traditional because he's got to check leg kicks. If he doesn't check leg kicks, he's going to find himself in trouble again. Because that's what the problem was. I know the left hook dropped him and ended the fight, but that wasn't why he struggled with Pereira. He struggled with Pereira because he didn't check kicks and he was so battered that he couldn't stand. So then he was stuck in front of him getting clobbered.
Starting point is 00:10:30 You've got two check leg kicks against Pereira. And if you don't, he's ultimately going to knock you out because the moment you're stationary, you're standing in front of one of the most dangerous fighters in UFC history. You know, man, I enjoy all this that surrounds these fights. Guys, I'm not going to sit here. and act like I didn't have an idea that Connemagra was in trouble as early as last week. What I didn't know was that they were calling so many people about the fight.
Starting point is 00:11:04 Because generally when that happens, somebody calls somebody else, and then the news starts to trickle down and everybody gets an idea. But none of us knew. They kept this thing so tight. I don't know the last time the UFC hasn't been able to keep a secret. I know Ariel and everybody else, the reporters are saying there was optimism that Connor would still fight. Why wouldn't there be? He never pulls out.
Starting point is 00:11:28 But one, it tells me this is a real injury, so it's a real problem. And two, it tells me that they were worried about trying to put fights together that could keep the value of what UFC 303 became, right? 21 million dollar gate. Lots been made of that. People flying them from around the world. Lots of been made of that. International fight week has to be a big thing. It always has been.
Starting point is 00:11:55 I believe with these new fights, the fight card still is very valuable. It's not Khanne McGregor. Nobody is. But you got one of the biggest stars in the UFC fighting at UFC 303. That's Alex Pereira. Also, you get Brian Ortega, taking in on Diego Lopez in the co-main event. absolute banger. And then Carlos Olberg is now fighting Anthony Smith because Jamal Hills out.
Starting point is 00:12:23 Guys, the amount of injuries that have happened in the last week is crazy. Hamzat Shamiab's out. Unfortunately, I'm going to Saudi Arabia. So now I've got to go to Saudi Arabia to watch a fight that I didn't tell. I was excited about watching Hamzat and Robert Whitaker. And I am excited about Alaskarov, Robert Whitaker. but it was like, man, now we finally get to see if Hamzat is that guy that everybody is telling us that he is. Guess we'll have to wait a little more time for that and see if Alaskarov, because if Alaskarov wins his fight,
Starting point is 00:13:00 he won't be on track to do what Pereira and what Izzy did. He hasn't been here long, right? Alaskarov hasn't been in the UFC for a long time. His debut against Phil Hollis, still one of the best debuts I've ever seen. if he can be Robert Whitaker, he's immediately in the top five of the division and already a threat to the champion, which is nuts,
Starting point is 00:13:24 considering how a short period of time he is. So it's very impressive. I'm excited about going to the Middle East. So I mean, I still can't wait to get there. But boy, would that have been good to get some of those questions answered? But that's a sport we play. It's fighting.
Starting point is 00:13:39 People get hurt. But sometimes what we get, after is just as good. Right now, I believe that we are getting better fighters at this point in their career than we would have gotten if Connor McGregor and Michael Chandler fought. Because Conno McGregor hasn't fought to that level for a while while he's still good because I've made a point. I told this to Ben yesterday. I go, he lost the Kabib and Dustin Porriere twice. Chandler lost to Olivera, Gaichi, and For you. They're losing to the best in the world.
Starting point is 00:14:17 But Alex Porell is losing to nobody, right? He only lost to Izzy in his UFC career. So you're getting the best fighters still fighting at the top of the game at UFC 303. And I think it's going to be an amazing fight card. It's hard to do what the UFC did when things go this wrong. Because trust me, it was wrong. It went wrong. There would have been a lot of pissed off people.
Starting point is 00:14:44 Rightfully so if they didn't try to replace it with something that mattered. And this fight card matters. It ain't common. But it's about as good as it gets. And we know that one of Lex Pereira steps in the octagon, it's always going to be fun and explosive win or lose. Because even in the Izzy fight when he lost, it was a fun fight. And if you know you're a Pohasca, he's a savage. This fight car is going to be sick
Starting point is 00:15:10 And I can't wait to get to Las Vegas for it Guys, I'm sorry for the voice I've been yelling at kids all week I've got 250 kids in my academy Wrestling every day The best time of the year for me But it makes My voice to struggle
