This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel
and friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes
for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

Hey, this is Robert from the Stuff to Blow Your Mind podcast. Joe and I are both lifelong Star Wars fan,

Join us as we tackle science and culture topics from a galaxy far, far away,
such as the biology of tauntons and wampas on the ice planet hot,
or the practicality and corporate business sense of the Sith ruling.

The volume.
Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. What a night from Boston. We just wrapped U.S. 292.
And there is a new Bannamweight champion in the world. And his name is Sugar Sean O'Malley.
Guys, welcome to the Sugar Show. I mean, so many people thought that this moment may be too big for
O'Malley. So many people thought that it was impossible for him to live up to the expectation.
Well, not only did he live up to the expectation, he exceeded it.
His kid started on a contender series, and he got the rub from Snoop Dog.
And so many people wanted to make him a star and crown him.
But it was early. You couldn't crown him before he proved it.
I thought he proved that in the peorter, Yon fight showed, even if you don't think he won.
he showed that he belongs.
And tonight he got an opportunity to fight the greatest band and weight champion of all time.
Not only did he win, he did it exactly like he said he would.
When I sat down with him earlier in the week, I talked to Sean about what the perfect night looks like.
What the Saturday night looked like, Sean?
What is ideal for you?
How does your story come to a conclusion this weekend?
He said, I'm going to knock him out.
And it's hard to envision that when you talk about a guy.
now Jermaine Sterner, that hasn't been knocked out since he got knocked out by a knee.
Sean O'Malley did it with a punch tonight.
He was able to expertly slide out of range, land the right hand that ended the night
and the former champion.
This place was on fire for this kid.
He is no bullshit.
He is almost the second coming of McGregor.
And when I say he's the second coming of McGregor, that's a really good thing.
He should not fight those comparisons.
because as he said on the interview,
Connor's rich, kind of does great business,
kind of does this.
Sean O'Malley can do all those same things.
He proved tonight that he also has the fighting ability
to not only win a championship,
but possibly reign atop his division for a long time
because the man he beat tonight was a guy that has the most title defenses
in the history of the sport.
You know, so many thought
this guy wasn't deserving.
Tonight, Sean O'Malley showed he's the next level.
His coach said, Tim Walsh told Joe Rogan,
worst training camp they've ever had in his entire career.
He said for the last five weeks, Sean O'Malley didn't wrestle, guys.
He did no wrestling.
He defended takedowns expertly.
So what do they do now if they can't take him down?
So many people believed that it would be the wrestler
that would ground O'Malley.
that would make the fight so dirty
that he wouldn't be able to stay in those fights.
He proved tonight he can defend takedowns
from a guy that took down an Olympic gold medalist,
Al Jermaine Sterling.
He proved tonight,
my voice is tarched.
I've been talking for hours.
Sean proved tonight that he's a superstar, man.
He said he was very nervous.
I kind of picked up on it
when he was walking to the octagon,
but then when I saw him in there,
I kind of took it back.
I was like, wow.
He doesn't look nervous, but he said it.
I've never been more nervous in my life.
But he was standing at the doorstep of being an absolute star.
A superstar came out to that as a song.
And tonight he became a superstar.
Al Jermaine Serling handled that as well as anybody could or you could expect him to handle it.
The dude was like, you know what, I lost.
He was better than I thought he was.
Never protested the stoppage.
He rolled over, Sean was beating him up.
He never once protested the stoppage.
He goes, you know what?
He was better.
He goes, I might have underestimated him.
But hats off to Aljo.
For fighting Henry Suhudo in Newark 15 weeks ago,
turning around and defending that same championship
against a very tough guy in Sean O'Malley.
It doesn't get much better,
and you don't get many guys that would do that.
So Aljo, Izzy, those types of guys are guys that fight all the time.
So you have to respect them.
for that. Al Jermaine, in that title reign, never really got the love that I thought he deserved.
And now we got to see what his future holds for him. He said Sean O'Malley hit him in that way,
and he can only imagine how Alexander Bokanowski feels, so he will have to reevaluate.
But there are a number of challenges at 1.35 for Sean O'Malley. But guys, it was almost
frightening to see how similar it was. O'Malley landing the right hand.
against Aljo and Connor
landing the left hand
against Aldo
and the way that they fell
for those guys to become champions.
Look at these pictures.
It's Aldo falling forward
and it's Aljo falling forward.
It's almost similar.
It's eerie.
But tonight, O'Malley became a legend,
became a star,
and I'm very excited to see what the future holds for.

Jean-Wea Lee proved once again that she's the best.
I have said this time and time again, I think, the world of this young lady.
She is finally showing in her performances that she's ready to dominate the toughest weight class we have in female fighting.
She dominated Amanda Limos.
From the wrestling to the striking, she did everything well.
Jean-Wei Lee, if she can continue to fight at this level,
it's going to be a handful for anyone,
and it's going to be hard for somebody to take that belt off of her.
She's so well-conditioned, she's so well-prepared,
she's got such a strong mindset now.
She said that at times she fights her laziness.
I can't imagine she's ever lazy,
especially in the way that she competed.
Fifth round, she hurt Amanda Limosion, dropped her.
She could have cruised to a victory,
but she wasn't doing that.
She's trying to get the job done,
trying to put on exciting performances.
She did exactly that tonight.
So hats off to Zhang Wei Lee,
still the strawweight champion in the world
after a completely dominant performance over Amanda Limos.
I want to see her fight again in China.
against Yao Shanan.
Because I think the one thing that hurts is inconsistency.
She's more consistent.
I think she can be a global phenomenon.
Jean-Wey Lee.
Ian Garrett put on a hell of a performance night against Neil Magny.
He dominated Neil Magny.
Guys, this was not close.
And while he did not finish the fight,
I don't know if I've ever seen Neil Magny more dominated thoroughly than I did tonight.
He had no moments in this fight.
He did nothing.
He had nothing for Ian Garry.
from the first leg kick all the way to the end.
He was dominated.
It was amazing to watch a young man in Ian Gary once again prove
that at 25 years old, he's already very, very scary,
and he's very viable in a very deep weight class.
Cheeto Vera got it done, and now he finds himself on the verge of a championship opportunity.
It doesn't work out like that for people.
Cheeto Vera is living a dream,
because while he may have lost that fight with San Hagen having a surgery,
with Marab having a surgery and O'Malley saying he wants to fight in December,
I think Gito Vera is right up there to get a championship opportunity.
Brad Katona and Kurt Holobar became the ultimate fighter winners, Brad for the second time.
Gregory Rodriguez had a submission.
All in all was a great night from Boston.
The crowd was amazing.
People are excited about fighting here in this town,
and they were treated to a star making performance from Sean O'Malley,
and Whaley once again proven why she's the best.
Guys, amazing fight night.
I love each and every one of you and I appreciate all the support you guys giving.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Like, subscribe.
Tell you a friend that DC has a YouTube channel,
and I'm doing stuff like this from my octagon side.
Nobody else is doing it.

Until next time.
Peace.
