a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some
retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and
friends on the ice.

Let's get to this one because, boy, the news keeps rolling.
and the boy Ilya Tuporia is not letting off the gas.
And today's episode is brought to you by Total Wireless,
the official wireless provider of the UFC.
They are in your corner with unlimited 5G data
that will not slow you down.
But before we get to Iliate Teporia,
hey, just for an update, Tom Aspinall said
that he's getting frustrated waiting.
He said it's very difficult mentally on him.
But he said that this, right here,
this waiting is the fight for him,
waiting on John Jones to set the date,
stay motivated.
It's a tricky bit for him to stay motivated,
and he's trying his best,
but at times it gets very difficult,
knowing that he wants to fight,
but he's not getting the fight right now, especially.
But Jones did say that he knows what he's doing,
and he will fight Tom Aspen also.
at least we have that to look forward to at some point.
Hopefully, Madison Square Garden in New York City.
So today's video, let's talk about Ilya to pour you.
So Ilya has been very vocal about wanting to fight Makachev,
wanting to beat Makachev.
He is confident.
And I believe his comprehensive, his confidence,
Confidence is deserved.
You know, the guy has won so many fights.
He's done so well against so many big name guys that he should feel confident in anybody,
especially with his ability to knock people out.
And he was on the Fulson podcast, I think, yesterday.
And he was talking about fighting Makachov, talking about how he wants to win his fight.
Hopefully Islam wins his fight.
And then they will come together to fight.
It doesn't seem like Iliate Teporia is giving up all.
on this fight with Islam Akachev.
Now, I think that this guy is very good.
I don't know that you need to chase, right,
if you're illyid to pour you.
Obviously, they both have massive fights coming up,
and that is honestly where the focus should be.
I know we all talk about it.
We people that discuss the sport,
we talk about him versus Islam,
because that is a big fight.
But at the end of the day,
you got a dangerous Charles Olavera
that is waiting to try and regain the world championship
because in a heartbeat, all of it can be gone.
I'm not sitting here attempting to coach up Iliate Tepore.
You tell him where his attention should be.
This guy is a world champion.
This guy is undefeated, right?
He's done it all to this point.
But I'm just saying that I know, right, from experience,
when you look down the line, especially in this thing,
It's very difficult.
So Ilya Tuporia wants to fight Islam
but needs to get through Charles Oliva first,
especially, guys, when we are hearing
that he and his team are kind of going
in separate directions.
Just because of the schedule,
they said it's no bad blood.
I really don't know how, at this point,
a month before what will be your opportunity
to win a second title, how much effect that will have on team to pour you.
Honestly, if I'm illy, I'm still just using those guys.
Because even if I have to do my training camp with someone else,
I know that those guys know me so well that if they can get with me for a week,
two weeks, we are still so aligned, especially if there's no bad blood.
We're still so aligned that we will get through the fight
and we will still be able to coexist, not only coexist,
but also we gel, right?
This is a team that got this guy from a young, young man
to being 16 and 0 or 17 in the O UFC champion,
beating two degrees feather weights of all time, right?
So to have that familiarity is very important to an athlete.
A lot of times we see athletes switch teams,
all these things as they get down later into their career.
This man is still in the heart of his career.
So there is something to the idea that we have grown so much that we can't come together and collaborate on what is going to be one of the biggest moments of his entire fight career,
especially knowing that those guys have trained him since he was like 15 years old.
To me, that's a little bit odd.
But, you know, is what it is.
So Chale and I were talking the other day.
And sometimes we talk and I don't know if he's trying.
trying to troll me, round me up, or if he truly believes what he's saying.
But his interpretation of the situation was,
the bottom line is you enter the division openly
that you said you wouldn't face one of the top guys.
That's not a sign of courage.
That's a sign of cowardice.
I don't love the idea.
He was speaking in regards to Islam going up to 170.
Here's where I disagree with Chale.
He had been having his eyes on 170.
this isn't something new that Makachia was talking about
and how about the fact that people constantly call them
Islam, he called he called me,
or anyone that cuts weight bullies?
What about now that he's going up
and he's going to fight in a weight class
that most of you say is more suited for his size?
How is that not doing exactly what people have called for for years?
Why he's so good only because he cuts so much weight?
If he weighs that much, he should do well against him.
those people that are much small in him.
How about now?
And Jack Delamadalina is as tough as anyone in the UFC.
He's an amazing fighter.
So not only are you going up to fight at a weight class
more suited for you in the eyes of the people that ingest this thing,
but you're also going up to fight a guy that just beat a person
that you said, I don't really want to fight him.
We share management with friends.
He just beat that person.
He beat that person convincingly also.
A person that also shares the same type of wrestling ability
or same type of skill set as you do.
How's that not courageous?
That's why I disagree with my boy, Chale.
I love Chale, and we have a lot of fun on our show.
But you can't call someone
or say they have that type of behavior when,
when they're doing that.
And they've defended the belt multiple times.
times. They fought people on short notice. They fought people coming up and wake less.
They've done just about everything they can to show that they're willing to lay it on the
line. We always talk about step on the line. Step on the line. Step on the line. Steps on the line every
single time. This is the first time that Islam has honestly put his wishes above what everybody else
wants. Because when everybody else wanted him to fight, Volki did it. When everybody was looking
from the fight, Armand, and Armand,
couldn't well fight this guy who's number number five moikano dangerous no training camp he did it
on a day's notice he's always done it so to say that it was a it wasn't a great move in that regard
that's not a i don't agree with that i don't agree with that at all and that's not just me
talking about experiences of knowing this man i'm talking from experience of knowing what a fighter
thinks and no fighter is afraid of anything. And I've said this before. And Islamakatchev is not
afraid. Um, I've said this twice. I've said um twice now because my daughter yesterday was getting
ready for one of her finals. And she kept saying to them and I was like, don't say it, don't say it,
don't say it. Take a beat. Now I'm the guy that's out here doing it for you, which is crazy. I never
do that. You know, it's interesting because as we had when Ballal and Jack fall,
we had a fight that really could clear up multiple divisions.
It feels like these two fights could also do that.
Here's the question, though.
Does Tuporia go up again?
Because I don't know that if you're Makachev,
you're willing to meet him in the middle or go back down.
I don't know if Teporia is willing to say,
I'm going to go all the way up to 170.
These are two of the greatest fighters in the world,
and you don't know what's going to happen.
You don't know what's going to happen.
Islam did say, though,
win some fights at 155, maybe I come back down and I'll fight you.
So you have that to look forward to
in the sense that maybe you'll get to see those guys fighting.
No one, and I get people are disappointed
that they aren't getting this,
but no one is as disappointed as us.
We all love it because you have a lot of people
that want to see these guys fight,
know how special they are,
and know what they've meant to the UFC since they've got there.
And I mean, when I look at this, right,
Islam's had seven fights since 2021.
That guy's active.
Ili has had six fights since 2021.
That guy's active.
Look, a lot of people,
people that argue at times that Ily is a little more active, but obviously looking
in that, that's not true.
That's not true.
They both fight, right?
They both fight.
And they both fight just about anyone.
Makadja could have been very disappointed when he was fighting guys.
That really there was nothing to gain for him because the top guys would not fight him.
But he fought them all.
Ilya, when it seemed like he should have been fighting for a belt much sooner than he fought for the belt,
was fighting very dangerous guys that didn't seem to add much value to his resume,
and he fought them all.
And he fought them all.
He fought them all.
They both fight everybody put in front of him.
This is the first time where I feel like one guy is saying,
I'm going to value what I want to try to do above it.
It wasn't a secret that Islam wanted to go to 170.
He's now finally getting an opportunity to do that.
Both of these guys are active, though.
I don't know how many people you can go back to 2021
and see who fought more,
especially guys that were fighting at that level of the UFC.
In the last two years, Islam's fought four times
and Italy has fought twice, or three times, sorry.
These guys are very active fighters.
They step on the line.
And hopefully at some point,
we'll get to see them step on the line against each other.
But right now, let's enjoy what we got.
We got two of the best fighters in the world fighting in massive fights for world championships.
And then we'll see what those world championship fights lend to what happens in the future.
And that's what it is, is what it is.
So we know we're getting Jones versus Aspenall, don't know when, right?
And we know that we're getting these two fights.
It's a big deal.
All right?
It's a big deal.
So, guys, thanks again for watching.
I appreciate you.
Love and appreciate your support every single time.
