This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel
and friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes
for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

A win is a win.
A win is a win.
I don't care what I'm saying.
Yep, that's me, Clifford Taylor the 4th.
You might have seen the skits, my basketball and college football journey,
or my career in sports media.
Well, now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast,
The Clifers Show.
This is a place for raw, unfilled conversations with athletes,
creators, and voices that not only deserve to be heard,
but celebrated.
So let's get to it.

The volume.
All right, guys, UFC 283 is a wrap.
Making every recap appearance of the boy Miles
in the background there.
We now have a new UFC light heavyweight champion in Jamal Hill.
This guy said,
I had to fight to have a chance.
If that doesn't resonate with you
and really make you recognize and understand
what this young man went through
to be where he is today,
I don't know what to tell you,
but he pitched an absolute shutout
against Glover-Teshire.
Who was as game as they came?
I mean, Glover came here tonight to fight.
He wasn't out here just to try and wrestle.
He had to stand up and deal with so much adversity.
When I was in the octagon,
the cuts that Glover had on his eyes were nasty as hell.
Look, guys.
Look at my microphone.
Look at my microphone from inside the octagon trying to interview these guys.
Look at my notes.
Look at my notes.
This all came from the Glover to Sheriff's life.
Look at that.
I mean, I got blood here.
Look at this.
Blood was flying from inside the octagon onto our stuff.
Look at this.
This is all Glover to Shera's blood.
If you want to talk about what the UFC is and what these fighters go through to try to become champion,
that tonight showed you what it takes to become a champion of the UFC.
Glover to Sherrill went through so much, but honestly, Jamal Hill is just better.
He's a better fighter.
He showed great takedown defense.
He showed great cardio to say he didn't have a full training camp for this fight.
And he is a guy that now the entire light heavyweight division should be on notice,
because a guy that's that confident going into his first championship fight will only carry more confidence into his career now as the champion.
Once you put that belt on the person, they almost level up immediately.
That is what these guys are going to have to deal with now in Jamal Hill if he wasn't scary enough.
But Glover-Tasherra made him level up and Glover-Tasherer made him become the man that he's going to, we all have it.
I had it with Josh Barnett where I felt like that was the night I became a man.
man to fight anybody. Tonight, Jamal Hill realizes that no matter who they close the
oxygen door behind him with, he will be able to compete if not beat them every single time.
What a tremendous performance by the young man born in Chicago based in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
A dream came true. He cried. He handed the belt to his coaches. It truly was an inspirational
moment to watch him come from the Dana White Contended Series and earn his
way into the Octagon to become a UFC champion. It was beautiful. I, uh, I loved every second of it.
Co-made event. Guys, Brandon Moreno is rightfully the UFC champion. He was winning that fight going
away and it was not going to change. Davidson Figurado, uh, doesn't really have anything for him
anymore. In the first fight, I thought Davidson won. Obviously, he lost a point, ended up making it a draw.
Brandon dominated the second fight
Davidson won the third fight very very close
And then tonight Brandon Moreno just really
Distanced himself from Davidson figurato
He was beating him in every single way
He was beating him in every single area mixed martial arts
Once again the judges fucked up
They had Davidson winning round two
When in reality Davidson didn't win round two
Davison got taken down
He was controlled for two and a half minutes
Outstruck in that round
And somehow the judges scored the round
for Davis and Figurato
once again proving the point that sometimes the judging is all messed up in mixed martial arts.
But the right guy won.
And I was so happy that they didn't call it a no contest or nothing because they thought it was an illegal strike.
It was a clean left hand by Brandon Moreno.
But I was so impressed with Brandon's ability to fight with a plan, use his wrestling.
We had never seen him take so many takedown attempts.
He wrestled today like he can wrestle his entire life.
Hats off to my boy, Izzy S. Silva.
and the guys that have been working with Darrell Christensen,
all those guys that have worked for him over the course of his career
to get him to where he is today.
And he is a well-rounded mix right,
and he's a hell of a fighter.
They'll have a hard time taking the belt from him.
But Pantosia, who has two wins over him already,
got him in the back,
walked right up to him and told him, I'm next,
can you fight next month?
I want you now.
Brandon goes, yo, man, chill.
Talk your shit whenever you want to talk your shit,
but give me tonight.
Give me tonight to celebrate my championship.
Tosia needs to chill. Give the champ a moment. Let him breathe as he became the champion for his second time.
He has earned that. He went through hell with Davidson Piggerado. He got through it. And now he's the
undisputed champion. He can move forward in his career. This Davis and Figueroa Rive has taken a long time
for Brandon Moreno to get past. And now that he's past it, he needs to take a break, take a breather,
and then get to all the hungry challenges that are just waiting for him to fight his.
side the auction on to challenge him for his flyweight championship of the world.
Gilbert Burns, he went out there and dominated.
He told everyone that would listen.
He was not going to be in there for 10 minutes with Neil Magny.
Well, he did it in a round.
He did it in less than five.
He went back to his jihishti.
That's one thing that Gilbert has not been relying on as much as most people think he should.
He has a fantastic rap.
He has been so willing to stand in trade that we have not seen him use that.
He used that.
He used that. Reminded everyone why he's such a dangerous.
proposition in the welterweight division. It was amazing. I thought they should have stopped the
Lauren Murphy fight. She was getting beat up. She did not have a chance to come back and win.
Glover to Chera was as beat up, but you could see in him the moments, right, the takedown.
You could see in him landing the big punches that he was landing that you could not pull the plug
on him. But Lauren Murphy had nothing for Jessica Andrage. That fight should have been stopped.
It should have been stopped a long time ago. And I will say that.
I don't care what nobody says around the world.
That was a bad fight to let continue for as long as it went Lauren Murphy was absolutely done.
Paul Craig got finishing in by Johnny Walker.
Paul Craig wasn't that impressed with Johnny Walker.
Well, tonight he did gain a lot of respect for him.
Johnny Walker generated that power with his foot up in the air to finish Paul Craig.
If Johnny Walker gets back to that free flowing fighting style that he had,
or he became known for early his career, he is dangerous for everyone in the UFC.
So I'm interested to see how we approaches everything going forward.
But Johnny Walker is an absolute savage.
Hats up to him and Coach Kavanaugh for getting the job done tonight.
Many have questioned this guy, but no more question them anymore after that.
He'll be in the top 10 and he's got a big fight on the horizon.
Tonight we saw the end of the Shogun Hula.
You know, a lot of our greatest fighters, the people that we love and admire the most,
they go out on their back.
Not many get an opportunity to go out like Glover to Sherr.
Fighting at the top of the sport, going out on your shield but not being out cold.
Not many get that.
Nobody gets what George St. Pierre got winning his last fight,
but most get and go out the way Shogun did.
But what we do and know is that nothing was lost for Shogun Who are tonight.
You don't expect him to be the guy from pride.
You don't expect him to be the guy that won the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship.
What you expect is an opportunity to watch for the greatest fighters of our generation,
fight and compete one more time.
I'm so blessed that I had the opportunity to call Shogun Hua's last fight.
Shogun will miss you.
But there is so much more for him than doing mixed martial arts.
I don't know what that is.
He told me earlier in the week he does not want to coach to where it keeps him away from his family,
but he does want to stay involved in the sport.
And I believe that the sport is better with any type of involvement from Shogun Hua.
Bruno Ferreta knocked on Robocop, Gregory Rodriguez.
Unbelievable performance.
Congratulations to that debut.
It took the final very short notice and got the job done.
Before I go, I got to mention Jailton Almeida.
True prospect of the heavyweight division.
But hats off to the Bonfie brothers.
I mean, that double knee that he landed,
Ismail Latteras McKinney, was insane.
One of the best knockouts that we've seen in the really,
long time and John Anick made the joke. It's his knockout of the year. Obviously we're just
starting the year. And for Gabriel Bonfib, to go out there and do what he did to Monerlis is
Mounted guillotine choke. For the finish, it could not have gone better for the Bonfib
Brother. It was a great night from Brazil. It was a great night to return to the home of mixed
martial arts. The fans showed up, showed up. Guys, I have no idea what Brandon Moreno said in that
That's how loud the fans were whenever he was doing this post-fight interview.
It was the loudest I've ever heard in arena, and I fought in 10 or 11 championship fights.
It got crazy.
Tremendous, tremendous night of fights.
Guys, I have a flight in four hours back to the United States and I could not be happy.
Love Brazil, but take D.C. back to the good old U.S. of A.
Until next time, guys, like, subscribe.
Tell your friend to tell their friends that D.C.
He has a YouTube channel and make sure you guys tap in.
Peace.
