Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an IHeart podcast. Guaranteed Human. Hey guys, it's us. The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe. I'm Kevin. And I'm Nick. And guess what? We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
Starting point is 00:00:12 We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions. Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it. But, you know, tired and sick. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you.
Starting point is 00:00:30 you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel, help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and friends on the ice. Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:01:04 Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged. It's the enhanced games. Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year. Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
Starting point is 00:01:27 Listen to Superhuman on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Michelle McPhee, and I've been unraveling the strangest criminal alliance I've ever reported on. A Mormon polygamist and an Armenian businessman. Multi-million dollar house, Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, a billion dollar fraud. But how long can this alliance last? Tell me what you know. Is somebody coming after me? Listen to Kingdom of Fraud on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Starting point is 00:03:27 So that's Backyardbutcher.com. Code DC TV. Let's go. All right, guys, we just wrap UFC 313. There's a new light heavyweight champion, and it's Michael Madon Kalaya. Alex Pereira got beat, and honestly, guys, I was calling the fights and kind of, I mean, we, we as commentators and as human beings, you watch these fights with the anticipations, with the anticipation that something else may happen, that something may change.
Starting point is 00:04:11 But reality is it wasn't. It was never going to change. It was always going to be Magumann and Kalaya with the way that it was going. He was winning the fight. And it was kind of hard to give him the credit that he deserved just because we have seen Pereira on so many occasions flip a fight. Guys, this is two fights in a row where we have seen Poetan kind of losing. tonight he wasn't able to work himself back into the fight.
Starting point is 00:04:39 Magelman-on-Kalaya fought a beautiful fight. And honestly, Pereira landed a few jabs, and round five he landed a nice head kick. But the vast majority of the fight, it was Magelma-on-Kalaya pressuring him, able to land shots, maybe not big shots, but land shots, and fight him very competitively on the feet.
Starting point is 00:04:59 I believe that the reason he was able to fight him so well on the feet, though, is because he has that threat of the wrestling. And when you have that threat of the wrestling, it makes you a much harder person to deal with. That was actually crazy. Surprising that that happened. That normally never happens when I'm doing these. Pressure, pace, wasn't able to secure the takedowns like we thought he might.
Starting point is 00:05:29 So on that front, Alex Pereira was much better than we thought. He defended 11 of 11 takedowns from Magamount Ancalaev. Every level change he matched. Every time he got to his legs, he was able to change the position. But what happened was, Uncle I was unwilling to take a backstep. And by being unwilling to take a backstep, he really did put the champion Poetan in some rough positions.
Starting point is 00:05:54 You know, what tonight showed, and you heard the urgency in the corner of Alex Pereira, tonight showed that he's just not as, good when he has to go backwards. Still a good fighter. He was still in the fight. But Uncle I have had more success than we anticipated because he was able to implement that game plan. John Nick said going into round five, it could be 3-1, Uncle I have.
Starting point is 00:06:20 It could be two to two. It would be hard for me to imagine a card that Pereira was up three to one. And I was like, I think it's two to two. I was wrong. It was three-to-one, Uncleaheuf, because Pereira won the fifth round. And he won it pretty convincingly probably had his best round of the fight outside of round one. But what's next, right? When you have a champion like Polatine who has as many title defenses as he had, I think three,
Starting point is 00:06:48 I'm over here trying to ask for some help. I believe he earns a title fight again, a rematch, just because there really is no clear person as to who should fight Mago Man on Kaliav right now. I think these guys should fight again because I believe that both would fight better both would fight better if they have to fight each other again
Starting point is 00:07:11 I think that it could be another fun fight you know wrestling is much more than just takedowns wrestling is the clinch wrestling is holding someone against the octagon side wrestling is forcing a man to be in a position that he doesn't want to be
Starting point is 00:07:28 that's not an easy thing to do when elect forero wants to get off the octagon side. He's big and strong enough to get off the octagon side, unless he's fighting against Mago Man, Oncalaev. I think Ancolaev would probably respect the wrestling of Pereira Moore going into a rematch, so he may change his approach a little bit. But ultimately, he fought a wonderful fight and showed that he was not wrong in saying I could stand with him, because he did have to stand for 25 minutes against the most dangerous striker in the UFC, possibly UFC history, and he came out as the champion.
Starting point is 00:08:03 But I want to see a rematch between these two. I don't see anyone else that should be fighting Magamann on Kalaya for that belt. But Poetan Alex Herrera. Guys, the co-main of it, Justin Gaci, got it done against Raphael Baziz. There were a lot of questions asked to, was Justin Gaichi different after getting knocked out the way that he did? Could Justin Gachi fight in the same way that he used to? do after getting knocked out by Max Holloway. What would be the lasting effects of being on the receiving end of one of the nastiest knockups
Starting point is 00:08:39 we've seen in a long time? There weren't any. He fought beautifully. He was much more smart. He was much more measured. He didn't take as many chances early as we might have expected in prior Gachie fights. But in terms of the way he operated in there, in terms of his ability to take a punch, in terms of him being able to make adjustments.
Starting point is 00:08:59 be able to maneuver and change the way he was fighting. It was wonderful. I love when J.G. went to that collar uppercut. That was one of my favorite combinations. That was one of the punches I used more than anything I did inside the octagon. Get the collar tie, throw the upper cut with the right hand. Justin dropped Raphael Fassiz with that. And from that moment, it became difficult for Faziz to get him.
Starting point is 00:09:28 Because he started round three very well, but then Gates just kept pouring it on, man. Kept pouring it on. You know, for a guy that's given so much to mixed martial arts, so much to the fans, it was nice to see Justin Gachie get a victory in a big spot over a very tough raphael Paziz, who also deserves credit because he took that fight on very short notice, and he had the greatest accounting of himself. He lost nothing tonight. by losing this fight.
Starting point is 00:10:00 He just showed that he is as good as anyone in the world, and he's going to remain as good as anyone in the world. So hats off to Justin Gaci for what was a tremendous performance and Rafael Aziz, because it takes two to tango. It takes two guys or two women to make for a truly special fight. And tonight we got that between those two. Ignacio Bahamundez, first fight in the top 15, submits Jalen Turner. It was wonderful. I thought that I would see a striking fight.
Starting point is 00:10:34 Bahamundas gets taken down, or at least falls to the ground, gets a triangle and submits Jalen Turner. Who was going to retire? They were going to give him an interview, but his coaches were trying to convince him not to retire. John Enix said that after the fight, Jalen was retired, he took his gloves off. I don't know what's going to come of that. I hope Jalen Turner isn't done. He's a young guy that still has a lot to offer mixed martial arts. But great job, Ignacio Bahamundez. He is now going to be ranked the top of Dean and deservedly so. Maricio Rufi, oh my God, dude, he hit King Green with one of the nastiest spinning attacks I've ever seen. Hit him right on the temple. King Green goes phase down. No follow-up shots necessary. Boom, fight over. That shit was tremendous.
Starting point is 00:11:26 This dude Maricio Rufi is something else, dude. He's very tough to deal with. He's going to be hard to beat for a lot of guys, and he should be very proud of the performance that he had tonight. The fighting nerds are on fire, guys. And it does not seem like there's going to be slowing down his miles as going back and forth a number of times. There go my boy right there.
Starting point is 00:11:47 Hey, Joshua Van, with a big win over rear, Tatsuya. Bruno Perreta, submitting Armand Petrosian. that was nice. Yo, Carlos Liao beat the crap out of Alex Marona. I haven't seen Ox Marono could beat that bad a number of occasions. He doesn't do that. He doesn't get beat that bad. His style is too difficult to deal with for him to just get washed out like that.
Starting point is 00:12:12 Carlos Liao washed him out. Myron Santos and Francis Marshall was a bad decision. This was a bad decision. And I don't really care what anyone thinks if it wasn't. It was a bad decision, and that should not have happened. Ozzy Diaz and Jordan Santos had a great fight to start tonight. They really did kind of get us in line for what we were going to have. UFC 313 turned out to be a fantastic fight night, and I'm so lucky to be a part of it.
Starting point is 00:12:41 Guys, we have a new champ at Light Heavyweight. Alex Pereira went down. But hey, this is the best fighting organization in the world, and it is littered with guys that can be anyone on any given day tonight, proved to be Magelman, Anka Lyev's night. as he becomes the UFC champion at Light Heavy League. So hats off to all the winners. Thank you guys for supporting me. I appreciate you guys and love you.
Starting point is 00:13:04 I will never take your viewership and you watching all of this for granted. I appreciate you guys. Until next time. Like, subscribe, tell your friend to tell a friend.
