If Alex Pereira wrestles for two years straight,
nothing else, just wrestling, Alex Pereira,
Olympic champion.
97?
He's so strong.
97?
97 kilos.
Sajou Lived.
Tadu Lived.
Tadu, Tadu, D.
Snyder.
You don't believe this.
No.
I don't believe it.
I don't believe it.
Why you make weak the wrestling, how someone's striking guy come to the wrestling and two years
be an Olympic champion?
How?
He's he taking him down.
What do you tell me?
For one minute, Saadulayev sent him 10-0.
Then why has nobody done this to him in M.A.?
Because he only five strikers?
He doesn't know if he.
Put him against Uncleav.
You think Uncle Life take him down?
Of course.
Easy.
Who for who beat he, like a wrestling guy, whoever upon him?
Who have a point? Who he have a point?
Who are you talking about?
Prakaska or who?
Janbovich.
Janbovich took him.
Janbovich is a wrestler.
Okay.
Yombovich is a wrestler.
Okay.
Anka Lovych, what happened?
How many times Uncle Lov take him down, hold him, three rounds there?
Brother, Dagestan, it's...
So my son's group of kids, you know how last time I sent my kids there?
You want your son?
They go next to Dagestan, my son, and the rest of this team meet.
Send your son to Dagestan.
I go, but I'm...
going to though I'm not he can't go by himself why brother if you want your son
high-level wrestling send him two three years douges and forget three years yes you're
out of your fucking mind two weeks six months one time you can call him two weeks yeah my son's not
go for six weeks man or no too long hey uh Islam uh thank you for checking in
I appreciate it even though Ali tried to keep us apart can you believe this yes yes I
told the old story after on a lot of camera I told the all story you tell me you tell me
you tell me the whole story he yeah because you know it is it you know many many
I sent him the picture see this many many people love Islam yeah because your
channel have more views with me did everybody you see this this is crazy
we like the perfect partnership this is the way the interview needs to go yeah like
Not you though. You need to stay on the interview.
What's up, champ? How you feeling?
Good. I've been trying to
this fight with Dustin Porreya. I think this is a very important fight
for you. Because of his standing in mixed martial arts
and terms. I feel like in order to
build a star, you have to go through the stars of the past.
Do you understand what that means? Do you feel like Dustin Porrier plays that part?
Yeah. Dustin, one of the...
biggest name in my career. I know this. Maybe Oliver Volcanovsky, but Dustin, I think it's a
high-level name in this sports because these guys have crazy experience, beat Lara top guys,
fight for the belt many times. That's why I'm very excited.
You know, when you fought Alexander Volcanowski the last time, you knocked him out, you're sitting there
waiting and you're watching all these guys
fighting essentially a tournament to see
who gets you next. It's Justin Gagee.
If he gets through Max, he wins.
He'll get you. Armand Sarukian,
Dustin Pori, and Bin Laden-Wazantani.
Did you expect Dustin Poirier to be the guy
that came out of all of this?
Honestly, like,
50-50, I expect
like Dustin is going to be next, but
I feel someone
after UFC 300
took the chance. Because
if Alivares beat Arman,
I think he will say yes.
But Armand said no.
And I understand.
When Armand beat him, he will say no.
Why?
Why did you think Armand would say no?
Because I don't know what this guy needs to fight with me.
He always talk about this fight, always won't very much.
But when he has chance, he always say no.
It's not first time.
It's not the first time he said no to the fight?
No, it's not first time.
He wants a full training camp.
I don't know what he wants.
but I don't give him some small chance.
First time I beat him all three rounds.
Not on every scorecard.
One round was 29-28.
I beat him all rounds.
In your opinion?
In George opinion.
One judge gave him 2928 as long?
Brother, watch again.
What did the judge say?
I don't know what the judge say,
but I beat him unanimous decision.
You did win unanimous decision.
I had an argument.
the other day and people speak about resumes and they say how your resume doesn't match up to
Dustin Poriers.
Do you hear that and does that annoy you when people try to say, well, Islam's resume, he has not
been through all the best in the division to become the champion?
But it's not makes sense.
I beat the guy who beat him too, you know?
That's why I agree with this.
He has more big name on his list, but it's mean nothing.
They wouldn't fight you, though.
I keep telling people, I'm like, when he was trying to make his way to a championship,
it was hard to get the fights, right?
Brother, how many times you remember somebody call my name when I'm not champion?
I don't remember some guys who on top call my name.
I want to fight with Islam.
All my life I have the problem.
But finally, I finish this.
Now the people want belt.
Yeah, and they got to go through you.
But I don't give you.
You know what's kind of weird right now?
Didn't I talk to you?
You're like a big time star now.
You're different guy.
You feel this?
Huh?
But I am still humble.
But no, you know, I don't feel it.
I can feel it in your behaviors.
Because of me trying to get you to sit down and do this interview the way Ali told me.
I believe Ali.
You believe Ali?
I think I believe Ali because I'm looking at you right now.
Brother, last month, how many time I spoke with you?
Just one time.
One, two, second.
Because I give you.
What do you give me?
Brother, you called me last year, come to my podcast, come to my podcast, and I come and make your...
Yeah, you're right, then it was Ali.
It was Ali, right?
Because you always do.
So Dustin Poirier, where can he present problems for you?
Be honest.
Dustin, brother.
Where can he present problems?
Brother, if I stay in his distance, if I play his game, he's a very dangerous guy.
And people know this.
I know this.
He have very, very good boxing.
Somebody say, Max Holloway have best boxing in his game, but Dustin beat him, and I believe he has best boxing.
He's got a good right hand, too. Right hook. Right hook, right hand. And, like, boxing is very good, but UFC is not boxing.
UFC, it's MMA. And that's why I'm my best MMA fighter. I have boxing, wrestling, and grappling.
You know, everything I watched in the buildup, Dustin said he's going to knock you out in this fight.
I've also seen Dustin training with Mateo Zgammerant, who's a phenomenal wrestler himself.
It seems like he's doing all the things that he needs to do in order to give himself an opportunity to be successful against you.
Also, taking from the fight with Habib, how much do you think he could take from that fight and apply it to the fight with you?
Brian, it's not something you can learn from the couple months or one year.
Wrestling, you have to wrestle all your life from beginning from your kids.
You know, it's not like you can learn from one year, two years, three years.
I know he doesn't believe he can beat me.
He doesn't believe he can give him some chance, you know.
That's why I will step inside the cage, pressure him.
Make him tired and finish him.
You don't think that he believes he can win this fight?
100%.
I don't.
Why?
Because, you know, his prime time is finished,
and I'm a worse opponent for him right now.
Can you look at any of Dustin's past opponents and look outside of Kabib and go,
I know I can do this same thing to him and put him to a point?
Why I think I can break him?
What all, like, high-level wrestling guy did with him?
It's easy. Much easier. Do you believe?
I mean, I don't know, man. I'm calling the fight.
How you don't know? I take you down.
No. How I'm not take down, Dustin?
Let's see. Romero Cotton's video again. We're going to do this again.
We'll go to Romero Cotton's video again and...
Brother, you always bring your camera guy and where I take down, you cut.
This is true.
That's not true. That's not true.
When Romero Cotton raised the hand, when Romero Cotton goes to the center, who hand he raised?
Brother, it's your guy, brother.
It's your guy.
We were all teammates.
No, no, no.
This is a bullshit decision, brother.
There was a bullshit decision.
Islam, the...
Your goal is to be the best pound-fant-fought fighter in the world,
which you are right now.
Is there a certain way you need to win this fight this weekend over Dustin Porier?
Yeah, that's why I have to make this fight easy and show my level to all the world.
Who's the toughest match up for you in this division?
Because I'm watching right now, you're telling me that the number one contender right now,
Desta Porier, you need to beat impressively.
Who do you think at 155 can present problems for you?
Armand?
I mean, Armand, it's universally thought
that Armand gave you the toughest fight of your career.
Brother, I don't see someone who can give me tough fight.
I have other goal, other target.
I want to jump other division.
Maybe there have some big guy,
but I know I can be a double champion.
The champion at 170 is?
Like you.
The champion at 170 is?
Yeah.
Who's the champion at 170?
Edwards.
Remember before you couldn't remember his name?
No, I know his name from the first day in the U.S.
I'm training.
He came at AKA.
You guys trained together.
Yeah, I know him.
He gave you many problems that day.
I remember this training session.
Who gave him?
Leon Edwards gave you many problems that there.
No, but this is my first fighting in the U.S.
He gave you many problems when I see this.
I watch.
Now people understand you why in brother.
So you guys didn't train together?
We did my first sparring in US with Leon.
Okay.
Okay.
I stepped to the case.
Coach, how say, I don't understand.
I don't speak English.
He said, Habib, this guy, very good striker.
And I was thinking, wow, I cannot lose first firing in the case.
In the cage, this is my first firing in the cage.
And when time is beginning, I go to double leg, take him down.
But that time he's not good wrestler.
He learned wrestling.
Yes, he come to learn.
But he's not real.
But right now, maybe he's good.
he's good on wrestling, he can defense,
but that kind is like a big point wrestling.
And I take him down, hold him.
Another storyline in this fight is Dustin's guillotine.
That's become like a whole,
it's taking on a life of its own, Mike.
You make this joke, brother.
He has good guillotine.
You make this joke.
I didn't make it a joke.
You make it a joke because you start to smirk when you say it
because it's almost feel like you don't think
he can ever catch you in a guillotine.
Brother.
I don't remember when Dustin catch somebody with the guitar.
He hasn't got one yet.
He jumped?
He's jump a guillotine, but he hasn't got a guillotine yet.
I hope one day, but it's not going to be me.
You know what's kind of crazy?
You know what's kind of crazy about you?
You like these?
You like this orange?
No, no, orange.
What?
I like GoPro.
Yeah, you did.
You remember last time you and I, we sat down with Alexander Volkanowski.
Uh-huh.
And you laughed at his right.
And then when you guys had that fight the first time he took you know you don't think that maybe sometimes you should like not make fun of people
When he took me down he took it on in the fifth round he took it didn't he take it on in the fifth round? He learned good punch but not take down
He tried to take me down a lot of times but now it's not working
Brother you know my wrestling you do have good wrestling I defend you like heavyweight guy at house like small guy take me down
I watched chase taking on
Chase, please.
The last time when you tried to run out the rest of the room.
Brother, people make memes with chase, please, but forget.
You know kids started doing this?
Like everywhere I looked how people try to do this move and do the chase.
I teach your guys, brother.
This is the greatest move.
I can come your class and give some master class, you know.
In that move?
Yes, not just moved, like other things I have.
You said you wanted to fight back in the United States.
How excited are you to be back in New Jersey, have an opportunity to fight back here?
I'm very happy to fight here and I want again come to Madison School Garden I want to fight
you want to fight November again yeah it's my dream yes if they say Armand
Connor McGregor if he gets to Chandler I'm not choice put someone in front of me close the cage
and go yeah I'm a man maybe you will come back come naked come to a cave when you last time
in the key when you last time in the gym man I went
Huh?
You see?
That's the problem with you now.
You're very disrespectful.
I liked you better when you were a kid that barely spoke English and you were nice.
Man, but I care about you.
We have to training, because Habib is always training.
Why are you show like this?
This is a happy guy.
Golf guy.
You see that?
Gov, brother, golf.
Don't play golf.
Why?
Because golf, you don't lose like zero calories.
Shut and go walk, shut again.
I play one time.
When you walk in a car.
You don't walk.
You buy you go by car.
I buy one.
I have one from my house now.
Yes, that's right.
You have to do some other sports.
Tomorrow I'm going to walk.
Make you working a little bit.
Play soccer better for you.
I'm so good at that now.
I'm so good at soccer now.
Hey, dude, I'm so good at soccer and I love soccer.
Brother, you don't have good in soccer.
How are you going to soccer?
I'm really good in soccer.
Br, you got to stop disrespect in my country, man.
You just don't say we're not good as though.
I respect your country.
Because we did win the last three world championships.
Team.
And?
We're the best.
Last one, who are the best?
We won the last three world championships.
No way.
Yes, we did.
Brother.
Taylor, Dake world champion, Taylor world champion,
Gilman World Champion,
Zane Rutherford World Champion.
We have world champion after world champion after world champion.
Brother, you talk about being country,
but what about Dagestan?
How many champions?
But you guys didn't have new champions last year.
We have other countries.
They presented other country because the competition inside the Dagestan is a different level.
There's only 10 world champions, bro.
We had five of them.
Azarang five from Dagestan.
Not true, man.
