The Herd with Colin Cowherd - Daniel Cormier TV - DC WARNS Jake Paul: "STAY AWAY from Francis Ngannou!"

Episode Date: November 6, 2025

Daniel Cormier IS BACK after huge news broke in the boxing world: Jake Paul and Gervonta "Tank" Davis' fight is officially canceled. The exhibition boxing fight was canceled by MVP Promotions due to T...ank's run-in with the law, and DC gives his take on why this fight SHOULD HAVE NEVER happened in the first place. Plus, Cormier argues that Jake Paul calling out former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou is a huge mistake. DC says that despite his loss to Anthony Joshua, Francis will "knock Jake's head" to ANOTHER PLANET if the two were to fight. Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an IHeart podcast. Guaranteed Human. Hey guys, it's us. The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe. I'm Kevin. And I'm Nick. And guess what? We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
Starting point is 00:00:12 We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions. Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it. But, you know, tired and sick. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you.
Starting point is 00:00:30 you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel, help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and friends on the ice. Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:01:04 Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where SportsSlice comes in. I'm Timbo, and every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the biggest moments in sports and giving you the real story behind the headline. And we're going straight to the source, the athletes themselves, their locker room stories, their reactions in the moment, and the stuff nobody gets to hear. Listen to Sports Slice on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:01:34 And for more, follow Timbo Slicelife 12 in the TikTok podcast network on TikTok. Winning on Clay is an art. The rallies are relentless. And at the French Open, only the toughest survive. I'd know. I competed there for decades. Join me, Renee Stubbs, on the Renee Stubbs tennis podcast for no nonsense breakdowns of the biggest matches, the toughest players, and the moments that define Roland Garris. Jen should win.
Starting point is 00:01:56 She's an outsider to win the French friend. And she likes Clay. Listen, Lernerabakina is arguably the best player in the world right now. And I actually can win on any surface. Listen to the Renee Stubbs tennis podcasts on the IHeart Radio app. Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports. Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
Starting point is 00:02:20 It's the enhanced games. Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast, Superhuman, documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year. Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth. Listen to Superhuman on the I-Hard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The volume.
Starting point is 00:02:57 What's up, guys, and welcome to a brand new episode at Daniel Cormier TV. Look, guys, I know that my backdrop looks a little odd right now. It's because we're moving into a brand new studio. Everything is getting shipped. We already have the space built out. You guys will see it once we get everything done. But right now, I'm waiting for a few more pieces to move in. But we started to kind of strategically move things in as we get started.
Starting point is 00:03:25 So look, hey, we're growing up. We are growing up here at Daniel Cormier TV. Thanks in part to my team and also the team at the volume. We're getting bigger, we're getting better. And it's only possible because of the support that you guys all show me time and time again. But today, I wanted to discuss Jake Paul Gervante Davis. Guys, this thing was a mess when it got announced. You know it.
Starting point is 00:03:57 I know it. We had all these questions about the weight difference. that's like how in the world is a guy that fights at heavyweight or cruiser weight fighting a guy that fights at 135 pounds it was a nightmare to start right boxing is much different than mixed martial arts the target audience might be the same but the demographics different the uh the the places where people are brought up are different there are bigger entourages in boxing. It's just a different world in boxing.
Starting point is 00:04:36 We've known that from the very beginning. We know that Javante Davis was not going to just play to Jake Paul's rules. I still don't know exactly why this thing is falling apart, but it is falling apart bad. It is bursting at the seams. We are almost exactly where we should have never started. This should have never gotten started. But it did.
Starting point is 00:05:02 But we are almost now exactly where we need to be in the fight, and that's it being off. It being off. So the CEO most valuable productions is a guy named Nikisa Badari. He said, our team has worked closely with all parties to navigate the situation responsibly. Wow, we will not be moving forward with this event. Our plan still remains for Jake, the headline on Netflix in 2025. details regarding a new date location,
Starting point is 00:05:32 a new opponent in additional bouts, will be shared as soon as they are finalized. So, Jervante Davis is out of the fight. Like I said, guys, we honestly should have never had a fight. We should have never had that fight even on the docket, but it was happening. You knew it had potential to be a nightmare.
Starting point is 00:05:54 It turned out to be exactly what we thought it was going to be. But then Jake Paul, to his credit, guys, after he completely rips Giovante Davis, he sets his target on something I could have never imagined that he would actually be willing to do. Never. But on Giovante Davis, he said, Davis is an actual walking human piece of garbage. Working with him is an absolute nightmare, the unprofessionalism, the bizarre requests, the short of hours late to photo shoots, the numerous arrests and related accusations and lawsuits.
Starting point is 00:06:36 If you support this man, you support the most vile sin a man can commit. I didn't want to give this woman abuser a platform to grow his fans and grow his bank account. My company, champions, women, I'm so sorry to everyone. So Jake Paul was really letting him have it. But you know, based on some of the things
Starting point is 00:06:57 that Jervante Davis faces right now himself. But Jake is talking about, guys, Javante Davis didn't even know what weight they were fighting at the time. I don't know what happened to Teng. Tank Davis was once one of the brightest shining stars in all the boxing. I don't know what happened to where he's in this situation
Starting point is 00:07:16 with Jake Paul, not really knowing what's going on. And it sounds like he's done a lot of stuff to put himself at risk of losing a payday. an exhibition, because that'll only be an exhibition. And now he's out. But then right after that, Jake Paul veers, as he always does. You know, for a long time, Jake Paul has been accused of one being a YouTuber that can't fight. That's not true.
Starting point is 00:07:44 He's a boxer. For five years now, he has trained with the best trainers. He's fought. He lives the life of a professional athlete because he has money. He's not some beginner anymore. But one of the biggest issues was Jake Paul was choosing opponents very carefully. Very carefully.
Starting point is 00:08:05 It was my guy Ben Astrid. Then it was Tyron Woodley a couple times. Then it was Anderson, which was very dangerous. Many people thought that Anderson let him win. Because Anderson actually had striking. But he was choosing fights that were safe. Here's the deal. He was choosing fights that were safe,
Starting point is 00:08:24 but they were a bigger name opponent. because MMA people recognize them. But the reality is what Jake Paul was doing is what every boxer does. Boxers, when they fight, especially in the beginning of their careers, they fight cannon fodder. They fight guys that don't belong in there with them.
Starting point is 00:08:47 They elevate boxers from the very start of boxing to today. You get guys that are 10, 20, you know, they literally have only fought people that barely have a beating pulse. He was fighting former champions. Problem is, he took away all their weapons. And that's why people didn't like it. And because of who he is, people didn't like it.
Starting point is 00:09:12 But he didn't do anything different than what we see with every single prospect, we get out of boxing, every Olympic champion, every Floyd Mayweather, every Andre Warren. They all fought guys like that in the beginning. they just didn't have any name recognition. They just didn't. And they said he wasn't fighting real boxers. Well, most fighters don't in the beginning of their careers.
Starting point is 00:09:36 I know it's coming off like I'm defending Jake, defending Jake Paul, and you guys know I don't want to do that. But that's crazy. But then it leads me to what Jake does next, right? And that is so surprising. But before I get to that, I want to remind you guys that every episode here at Daniel Cormier TV is brought to you, by total wireless, the official wireless provider of UFC there in your corner with
Starting point is 00:09:59 unlimited 5G data that will not slow you down. And when talking about slowing down, Jake Paul goes from fighting Gervante Davis to calling out Francis and Ghanou. Dear Francis, this is, sorry, it's the first part. Dear Francis, just say, you already got humiliated boxing and are scared to lose to Jake Paul. I accept that. You are light work stuck in mud. He was referring to when Francis was brought up as the opponent. Francis said initially, I am not interested. This fight has no interest to me. It makes no sense. I don't want to do it. So then Jake says, hey, just say you're scared, which Jake Paul don't want those problems. I can't say it any different. Jake Paul does not want any friends. Jake Paul does not want any
Starting point is 00:10:56 Francis and Ghanu problems. He don't. He does not want those issues. Because while I think it's crazy and I credit him for doing that, and I'm surprised he did that, this could be a ploy, him poking out his chest, saying, I want Francis. Francis goes, eh, doesn't really make sense to me,
Starting point is 00:11:17 especially Francis can't fight on the day that they were scheduled to fight. But he don't want those problems. He don't want those Francis and Gano problems. I don't care what Anthony and Joshua did to Francis and Ghanu. Jake Paul gets in there with Francis. Francis will knock his head off this planet. You don't want those Francis problems. So if Francis says, choose your words wisely, boy,
Starting point is 00:11:43 I agree that you need someone to discipline you for what you did to Mike Tyson, but stay in your lane. Starting point is 00:13:27 Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers, and guess what? We have some big news. What's the news, name? Huge news. We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to our first people to do podcasts.
Starting point is 00:13:40 Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there. But this one's extra special. So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it. And, well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers. This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes.
Starting point is 00:14:04 I have a very different memory of this. We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, people could call in and say, hey, Jonas. And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you

We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and friends on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind. Highlights are trending, opinions are flying, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where Sports Slice comes in. I'm Timbo. Every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the plays, the controversies, and the stories behind the headlines. We go straight to the source, the athlete
Starting point is 00:15:16 themselves, their locker room stories, their reactions, the stuff nobody gets to hear. The laughs, the the triumphs, the moments that never make the highlight real. From viral moments to historic games, from buzzer beaters to controversial calls, we break it down, give you context, and ask the questions everybody wants answered. Sports Slice brings you closer to the action with stories told by the people who live them.
Starting point is 00:15:38 Listen to Sports Slice on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more, follow Timbo Slic Life 12 in the TikTok podcast network on TikTok. The French Open is one of the toughest tests in tennis. And I know firsthand because I competed there myself. I'm Renee Stubbs, and on the Renee Stubbs tennis podcast, I'm breaking down everything happening at Roland Garris.
Starting point is 00:16:01 Every match, every upset, and what it really takes to win on Clay. Jenchian went. I mean, she went down in three to Rabakina, but I'm delighted. She's an outsider to win the French for me. And she likes Clay. Listen, Lena Rabakina is arguably the best player in the world right now. And I actually can win on any surface. Because if she's serving, well,
Starting point is 00:16:22 Good luck. Consider this your court-side seat to the French Open. Listen to the Renee Stubbs Tennis podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth. Listen to Superhuman on the I-Hard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I know Big Frank. This is the type of stuff that pisses him off.
Starting point is 00:17:13 I'm telling you, Jake Paul don't want those problems in. Because I don't care that you're a boxer. I watch Francis put down Tyson. fury. Sure, Anthony Josh will beat him. But even if Jake got power, I don't think he got power to be dealing with Francis. Because all it takes is for one to land, he going to put you out. But then Jake said this morning, my lane helped your lane. I spoke for you over and over.
Starting point is 00:17:40 No more. Look out yourself in the mirror, Francis. God don't like ugly. Maybe the truth is, you are a fake, holier than thou actor. When it's always been just about you, maybe use your platform to speak on the youth of your country posting a flag ain't it. Instead of doing TMZ interviews like a can man to talk about me. Reality check. I do sleep you in boxing and John Jones does in mixed martial arts.
Starting point is 00:18:11 Maybe Jake in poking his chess out. Maybe he really does want to fight Francis in Ganoo. But I got to tell you, if you, if you're just a kid ain't poking his chess out. I got to tell you, if he's going to fight Francis in Ghanu, it needs to be on a very short time frame, timeline, to where Francis can't be fully prepared, and it needs to be at a weight that Francis has not touched in years. He cannot fight Francis at Francis' way in 250, 260.
Starting point is 00:18:40 First off, he won't do that. That's why he's fought guys that are smaller. But if he does, if Jake Paul actually fights Francis and Ghanu, I would do nothing but give him credit. But I can't imagine he would really do that. But what he did do, though, and this is why the kid's so smart, he took a situation where Javante Davis went and got himself into trouble, and he's out.
Starting point is 00:19:06 And he has now spun that into us talking about him fighting Francis and Ghanu. Jake Paul never needed Javante Davis. He did. He needed Gervante Davis to light a fire and start a conversation. He used him for that. Jervante messed it up. Now he's moved on and spun it to where he started another conversation and now it involves Francis and Ghani.
Starting point is 00:19:29 He knows out of market himself. But I'm telling you, you play stupid games, you get stupid prizes. Stupid prize will be fighting Francis and Ghanu. I don't care what money. Jake Paul wouldn't make. He should not be fighting Francis and Ghanes. Francis will put him out. Hey, Big Frank don't know how to play games.
Starting point is 00:19:54 Big Frank don't know how to pull his punches. McFrank will put you down, man. Stay away from Francis and Gano if you ain't a guy like Anthony Joshua or Tyson Fury. Guys, tell me in the comments if you think that Jake Paul is actually trying to fight Francis or Jake Paul is playing the game with Francis and Ghanou, which is my belief. But still, credit to him for understanding his game, his role in knowing how to start conversations
Starting point is 00:20:22 and keep himself in the news. And to this point, six out of seven times he's backed it up with victories. I think it's time we stop doubting Jake Paul and give him credit for what he really is and that is a professional boxing. Until next time, guys, like, subscribe. Tell you friends, I got a YouTube channel
Starting point is 00:20:39 and I'm doing stuff like that, keeping up with all the news and everything going up with MMA. Hey, also, that kid that was that fight thing the other day? Crazy. I was so disappointed. The world of MMA is changing, man. And it'll be the UFC that gets everything back under control. Just watch.
Starting point is 00:20:56 As they've led time and time again, they'll leave in this fight against fight fixing attempts, which is so crazy. Until next time, guys, like I said, subscribe to the channel. Peace. Hey guys, it's us. The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe. I'm Kevin.
