Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends. Starting point is 00:00:42 Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year. Starting point is 00:04:18 You know what I was thinking? I think that, listen, no seriously, because I'm very wise guy. Okay. You know what I was just thinking about? You and I sitting down like this again. Okay. Might be a good luck. Because do you remember the first time when we sat down and did an interview?
Starting point is 00:04:40 Brazil. Brazil? No. Singapore. Singapore. Yes. Go over to Chera. Yes.
Starting point is 00:04:46 You and I's first interview. What happened on Saturday? I won the belt. You became the champ. Yeah. I just may be your good luck charm. And you didn't even have to rub my ball head. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:58 Yeah. Yeah. It's hitball. It is good luck. You'd have to do that. Champ, thank you for checking in with me. You know, man, Yuri. Before we go forward to the fight, UFC 300 was a big, big moment for you.
Starting point is 00:05:10 Big fight, big opportunity, bounce back from that. Starts not the best. It felt like to me that you just said, I'm not losing. And you just decided to go get this dude. Was that going through your mind? My mind is going just to find the right distance. for my target and to catch him. Just I need, there's a, there's a,
Starting point is 00:05:35 in the start of the fight, there's every time, like few moments to really catch the target. Yeah. Targeted my, the opponent, to find the right distance, and it's my bets that I have to sacrifice sometimes a few low kicks, and right now I realize it's not, can be,
Starting point is 00:05:57 Oh man, you just went into my next quote. You went into one of my questions for Donald Lime. Sure, sure, man. Let's get into it now. But it makes sense, yeah? Because Alex Pereira, I know you, everybody knows he can, he kicks these low kicks, calv kicks. And I have the long, wide stance, yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:16 And that's something what right now I need to upgrade. So I worked on that. That's what I was going to say. Like, have you had enough time to fix that? Yeah. fight between you and Pereira, you were doing well, but then he took so many calf kicks that you're almost like stuck in front of it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:34 Stationary. Yeah, that's right. How quickly after that fight did you go back and say, I've got to get better there because again, in the fight with Rakech, and he was able to land. It was the same, yeah. And yeah, I realized that. And right now, it's not just about to, for me, and especially in the short notice, it's not about the repeating on the training.
Starting point is 00:06:57 But it's here to really realize you can't do this. Really. You want to win, don't do this. So that's something what I need to keep. Yeah, I will, and I will. You know, this thing came together pretty quickly. I remember a few weeks ago when the whole McGregor situation started to pop off, right? No press conference.
Starting point is 00:07:21 I don't know, like you said you love a samurai lifestyle. Are you paying attention to all this? Like no press conference. Are you seeing all this while it's happening? Yeah, I saw that. What are you watching? I negotiate. The TV?
Starting point is 00:07:34 Are you watching the TV? I don't know. My manager had messaged me in that, and I already knew that. They had that shoot a fight. Yeah. You have to be the guy that's pressuring. Yeah, yeah. But we're careful because he knows how to wait for the right moment.
Starting point is 00:07:53 The right moment. Yeah. You know, when I watch you fight, especially in that last one, you were aggressive, but then you find that moment, there's no better feeling. When you finish that fight, did you figure I'm going to be the next guy for this championship? But then he ultimately said it. He goes, it'll be here at Prohaska. That's who I want to fight next. Why do you think he has the desire to compete against you in the way that he does?
Starting point is 00:08:22 I know why. I know what I feel, because I think you're just a tremendous mixed martial artist. And when you're testing yourself at the highest level, you want to fight the best. But why do you think he always kind of seeks you out? I think, or I think, I felt that like from the first fight. Because the first and half of the first round, the second round, was in my hand. Yeah. That was really, maybe in that case, in this case, I have the challenge from him in there.
Starting point is 00:08:48 Yes. And maybe, I don't know, what is his motivation? Do you remember the one in the championship the first time in Singapore, the excitement you felt that you had that horrible injury to come back? What would it mean to you to win this championship again on Saturday? Right now, everything. Right now it's for me everything. And maybe I don't realize that yet. But because every time I'm leaving the situation to awake all the power from myself.
Starting point is 00:09:23 that moment and like I feel that right now. Have you had many rematches in your career? One. With King Moe? Yeah. Only one. Yeah. And he won the first time by wrestling you. Yes. And then you knocked him out on the second time.
Starting point is 00:09:39 What do you think would mean more to your pro Haska winning the belt or winning the belt from Alex Pereira because he beat you the first time? Oh, I don't take it like that. Really? Like, for me, it's not like vendetta or something like that.
Starting point is 00:09:57 It's for me like to show my best. And especially with the guy who found a key on me. And right now I know how to, especially with the information, when you know how to, how to beat him, just do that. You've seen some things in the fight where you know you can exploit. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:25 But it's not about like you know something what's I know I believe it's in me and I will show that What did you do with the belt the first time when you won? What was the first thing you did when you got home with the belt and what are you planning to do with the belt this time Because I remember when I got my first belt I sleep with it that that belt to the people like yeah because we are this like small country in Europe and I think we need to to be more self-confident here, there in Jake Republic, and this is the good chance. You watch the European soccer? Not really? Not too much right now.
Starting point is 00:11:04 Yeah, because of the fight. But you're a soccer guy? Yeah, sometimes, yeah. I like to play, but... Well, when you get done with this fight and you're ready to play, play me. I'm really good. I'm really good at football. Okay, okay.
Starting point is 00:11:19 I'm really good. Hey, good luck this weekend. Guys, watch your Pohashka as he takes on Alex Pore. at UFC 303 this weekend to try to become the UFC light heavyweight champion. Former champ, got his mind right, and he's ready to go. Till next time, like, subscribe, and tell your friends about my channel. Checking with guys like your pro-hasker. Hey, I might be a good luck charm.
Starting point is 00:11:39 I'm telling you, if you win, if you win, I'm telling you. Until next time, guys, peace. Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
