This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

A win is a win.
A win is a win.
I don't care what I'm saying.
Yep, that's me, Clifford Taylor the 4th.
You might have seen the skits, my basketball and college football journey, or my career
in sports media.
Well, now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Clifford Show.
This is a place for raw, unfilled conversations with athletes, creators, and voices that not only
deserve to be heard, but celebrated.
So let's get to it.

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I put on 10.
I was having trouble
stopping the muscle growth.

Hey, what's good, y'all?
You're listening to Learn the Hard Way
with your favorite therapist and host, Kear Games.
This space is about black men's experiences,
having honest conversations that it's really not safe to have anywhere,
but you're having them with a licensed professional
who knows what he's doing.
How many men carry a suit or armor?
It signals to the world that you not to be played with.
And just because you have the capability that does not mean that you need to.

Hey, this is Robert from the Stuff to Blow Your Mind podcast.
Joe and I are both lifelong Star Wars fan, so we're celebrating May the 4th with a brand new week of fun,
thought-provoking Star Wars-related episodes.
Join us as we tackle science and culture topics from a galaxy far far away,
such as the biology of ton-tons and wampas on the ice planet hot,
or the practicality and corporate business sense of the Sith rule of two.

Robert Whitaker.
Thanks for checking in with me again.
Champ, we're back again.
and you just literally keep getting better
and keep working towards this goal.
That last fight against Alaskaroff,
I remember we sat down,
remember I did the interview on my iPad
because I didn't have a camera,
and you told me that you thought you had
figured out a way to get through this dude,
I'm like, well, he's this and the other.
You beat him easier than anyone could have imagined.
Like, was that the expectation of the fight going in?
Not the expectation, the hope, yes.
The hope, yeah.
Not the expectation.
The expectation was to grind it out for 25 minutes.
Yeah.
You know, to have wars.
That's what we train for and prepare for.
But, mate, like, it's just confidence in the work that I'm putting in.
Yeah.
You hit him with that nice shot.
He went, when he went real and your eyes got big.
But you didn't rush, though.
That's the one thing that young fighters don't get, right?
They get somebody hurt and they just go crazy.
You took your time, and you found, it was an uppercut, right?
Yeah.
That got him.
Yeah, you found the uppercut.
They got him.
When you saw it hurt.
you're like, okay, take my time
and let me find a shot.
Yeah, the idea is hurt them
and not let them recover, right?
Yeah.
And then, like, you'll find your moment.
I always tell people, I say,
it's not the first one, though.
The first one hurts you.
It's the follow-up shot that gets you, right?
The one that comes after,
and it was like, you hurt him,
and then when you went and you got, boom,
I was like, oh, my God, Robert Whitaker.
That shit was crazy.
No, it was good.
It's kind of crazy how you managed
to do it over and over again.
But you never released the thought
that you'd be the champion.
Even after drinking is duplice, you just right back to work, now you're fighting Hamzaa Chayev.
Like, I mean, your pops are talking outside.
He goes, he's due for an easy one.
I go, they don't get no easier ones.
They get no easier because they beat Chamaif, now you're fighting for the belt again.
Yeah, it's, this is what I do.
This is what I sign up for.
This is my duty to my family.
And this is how I put bread on the table.
And I take that role very responsibly.
So when you look at Chimayev, right?
He was going through these dudes like crazy, right?
He gets to Oeuf.
And it was much more difficult because now, right, no disrespect to Lee, no disrespect to these these first dudes he should have beat like that on Fight Island, right?
Because they're just not very good.
Uh, Marischart, he knocked him out.
I was a bit surprised when he gets to Usman, right?
World class fighter.
What did you see in him in that fight opposed to what you saw prior?
I think it's just, um, what did I see?
Good things that impressed you are things that you might have went, okay.
Well, I think the first thing is, like, you need to respect his skill level.
Like, he's pushing a game plan on a world-class fighter, on a former champion level fighter.
And that's attacked in the same way.
That deserves respect.
Like, everyone knows he was going to wrestle.
He still did it.
Yeah.
That deserves respect.
And I respect it.
And that's why I've trained my heart out for the last 20 weeks.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But also, Saul,
that Usman on a week's notice started catching up.
Yes, he did.
In the third round, he started catching up.
And you got five rounds.
And I got five rounds.
And I think I'm better than Usman.
Yeah, bigger for sure.
Remember, Usman's still fighting that welterweight.
You're middleweight now.
I've had 20 weeks to prepare for this guy.
Yeah.
Had time to get ready.
Yeah.
So is it a matter of extending the fight, though?
Is it like, can you go through him early or do you have to make him fight longer?
Because, again, in the first round of that fight, he was still held on wheels.
for even Kamar Usman.
I'm going to come at him
from the first second to the last.
I'm taking the fight to him
the entire time.
That's how I win.
Yeah.
You've been trained a lot of wrestling
in preparation for this.
I saw a video of you getting after it.
How have you enjoyed
being back on that type of grind
knowing what type of fight
you got in front of you?
Mate, my back is sore.
Dude, that's the worst.
Raquel Finnington told me that.
She goes, I hate wrestling.
My back in my neck are so sore
from doing so much wrestling.
But did you enjoy it?
Getting back to that?
You know what I enjoy?
It makes me strong.
Yeah.
I feel strong.
Here too.
Always.
Yeah.
Like, I feel strong.
And then like when you're in those deep rounds, you know you're just going to
kill you.
Like, yeah, it brings something out of you.
It does.
Like, it makes you stronger mentally because if you can get through that wrestling
workout like that, especially consistently, you know that you can get through a fight.
Chimae says he does respect you, right?
And he's been saying it publicly.
But he doesn't believe that even.
though you're doing this and you've done this for a real long time to the point that you put
a singling on and went in wrestle actual tournaments he just does not feel like you can compete
with him in that way is he's going to implement that game plan on you like to that what do you say
we'll find out yeah all right like this is a fight um yeah we'll find out yeah i've done everything
if he's that good then i'll find out yeah like i'm going to find out and i'm excited for the test
I'm excited to put myself up against someone that believes that.
Because I've beaten a lot of people that think they were better than me.
You know, and yeah, like every fight, every hardship, every trial makes me better.
And this is just another one.
So I believe, this is me, this is me.
I believe that if you win this weekend, you should get a title fight.
Do you think that if you win this weekend, you get a title fight?
Definitely.
But why is it that Sean Strickland has been determined?
the number one contender win,
he beat a guy that you beat,
and then you went and fought two more times.
So how do you make the statement
that you deserve the shot over him?
I don't.
I just don't really worry about it.
Dude, like it's just to me it doesn't seem logical.
Yeah, but you see, that's like a whole side
of fighting that I don't really take notice of.
Really?
Well, no, because it's, for one,
I don't have a lot of control over it.
And two, I don't want to play those games
to get it's like politics almost yeah it really is and I don't want to play it yeah I'm just
gonna do my job I'm gonna go out there I'm gonna fight I'm gonna fight I'm gonna fight
winning opens the doors but again three wins Paulo Costa you beat that was a tough
fight I'll scare off you beat if you beat Hamzaa Chama if it would seem as though
it's the logical next step you and Drake is duplice he have history he just beat
Israel at a sign you were you surprised because I mean a lot of times dude I'm
telling you, bro. Like, I finally am done
overlooking this guy. Yeah.
It's some of the shit he does that makes me want to.
He wears the little... There's a picture of him with these, like,
Daisy Duke shorts on. He sits on the back of a
truck. This dude's crazy, Doug Dracus.
But he's a good fighter. He beat Izzy.
Submitted Izzy. Were you surprised
that he was able to do that?
Nah.
Really? Well, Drew's one of those dudes that, like, I just feel like he's
going to win somehow. He does, he does.
He does. He's like, if you don't get him out of there somehow,
he's going to win. And that's the vibe
I got, like, I think that was the best version of Israel would have seen.
I thought, I thought Izzy looked pretty good, too.
He looked great.
I just think, like, Trichis makes it awkward, man, and he just keeps coming at you.
Do you think that if you fight him again, though, you would benefit from being in there before, having a feel?
Definitely.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But it's Hamza-Ochimae of this weekend.
Definitely.
How do you see the fight going?
I'm going to look to hunt him for the 25 minutes.
I'm looking to take his head off.
Yeah.
Got five rounds to do it.
Yeah.

What's up, fam?
It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano.
podcast point game is about defying the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nasree.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night bases on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nass would get that thing.
That man, hell get to fly.
He running up the court licking his fingers while he got the ball.
After you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah, you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball.

The biggest decisions.
If you're going to look at stats and numbers,
he has no shot at making this.
World Cup team.
And the truth about the U.S. national team.
It wouldn't be a huge surprise if our team ends up in the quarterfinals or potentially a great

Any town, however great, take over another country.
From My Heart Podcast, Saigon.
Please allow me to introduce Joseph Sherman.
You don't think I'm serious about a free Vietnam?
I should stop talking so much.
I like hearing you talk.
One city, a divided country, and the war that tore America apart.
This is for Vietnam.
I've taken a hit from Japanese ground fire.
Do you rate me?
They're pouring petrol all over him.
He's holding matches.
I'm on a landmine.
Or freeze!
Let's get out!
Freedom, Mom, and Nah!

How you feel my brother good?
I'm about you.
Good, man.
You look good.
You feel ready?
Yeah, my.
Huh?
always you're like a doctor now
you like professor
what problems do you ask
me me yeah
my biggest problem is you fucking you picking me up
once you pick me up off the ground everybody
tried to pick me up off the ground though
why you do this
oh right
we're like like no respect
they said Chamaa picked this guy up not everybody
hey I said he I'm not
Hasbullah
this guy
everyone don't pick me up
why did I tell them he
I tell you my, guys, you're not coming up.
The other day the guy.
So, like, everybody picked me up so much.
The other day somebody tried to pick me up.
I put all my fucking weight down like it.
Like, super heavy.
I start defending the takedown, man.
This shit is crazy.
Don't pick me up.
I don't know, bro.
They post that shit.
They do just like you.
You know, you pick me up on the ground like this.
Hey, what's the, why are you having the glasses?
Just a little problem with the right eyes.
It's okay.
You look like professor.
I don't know what I look like.
Just doing the things to listen to my doctor.
Yeah, it looked good.
Thanks.
Hey, how are you feeling?
Feels good.
Amazing.
Ready for the fight.
Hamzaa Chimae, guys.
Boers checks in with the boy.
Again, I appreciate you stopping by like you always do, man.
It's been a minute, right?
You guys were scheduled to fight earlier in the year.
You fell out, had some medical issues.
How much did you have to manage this training camp so that you didn't find yourself getting sick again?
No, I had a lot of, it said, talk about all the interviews, they ask about my house,
so I had the such team around me, you know, all the guys were checking my supplements,
my doctor, my nutritional food, making food for me and the guy.
So everything being perfect, so.
Is it annoying that that becomes a part of the story?
When you first started, we all talked about two fights in 10 days.
We talked about the knockout against Gerald Mirchard.
It was always about the fight.
Now the story has become so much about Hamzad can't fight, Hamzat this.
Is that annoying to you?
No, bro.
It's whenever, if I fight like now, in 10 days twice, they're going to start again.
You go back to that.
Yeah, so people are flying that way if you go that way.
They're flying that way.
If you go that way, the 99% of the people in the world, they're just flying what they see.
How have you dealt with the fame that came with that rush of, you went from a guy that came
in Fight Island, nobody really knew who you were to being a superstar.
Like, how have you held, how have you handled the change in your lifestyle?
Become a normal, so, yeah, sometimes it's hot, but it's good, man.
Somebody said you're not training in Sweden anymore at all.
Are you not training in Sweden anymore?
Yeah, sometimes, sometimes going back, work with the coaches, yeah.
But now train the places, there's no people, no kind of touch, you, you know, so just don't
focus on the gym.
You're on there with your team, no more people.
You're much easier.
You built your own team?
Yeah, yeah.
And who else are you training with?
I saw you wrestling against the Olympic champ.
Yeah.
Hard.
It's so hard.
They have a good movement, you know.
But the heart for them is go wrestle against the war.
Okay, so here's the thing, right?
So Gatsalov came to A.K.A. to train with him.
me. The first day, I thought to myself, okay, I'll be able to take this guy down against the wall.
And I did. But then the next day, it's like he adjusted to it and he could wrestle off
the wall. Did that happen too, like where he just kind of got it quick? They're such so good.
They're the Olympic athletes, you know, if you're Olympic gold medalist, or you should be a good, man.
And it has it. They feel they feel good, man. If you were a little wrestler, you feel grappling
as well good, you know. Yeah.
their movements.
That guy is crazy good, man.
Unbelievable.
It was fun to wrestle with them.
Challenge yourself in those ways.
Yeah, of course.
It's hard to like find people when you become who you are,
especially when you're so good at everything,
to step outside of your comfort zone.
How important is it for you to go out and seek out the Olympic champion
and say, I want to feel, because honestly,
in most instances you can beat pretty much anyone.
But put yourself up against it.
like that, like how important is it to feel like, man, this is a tough battle to overcome?
I like to test myself, you know, against anyone.
So if he's good on striking, I want to try with him.
I will fight good on the ground, I go with him.
If a wrestler, I go wrestler with him.
That makes you better fighter, you know, so it makes you better everywhere.
But thanks God, we have a lot of guys good on everything, you know.
We have great boxers, great wrestlers.
in my country, you know.
So whatever I ask, I help about, they comes and just helping me.
You know, happy for that.
Were you surprised at Robert Whitaker's win in Saudi Arabia?
Were you surprised at how easily he got through that in that performance?
Yeah, of course, I was surprised.
But I know how good Ikram is it.
But he was on himself there, so I think he could do better.
Do you think that was just Robert Whitaker being better?
Or you think Alaskaroff was kind of overwhelmed by everything?
I don't know, but Rob did his job, the best way he could do.
But I know, I'm as a high-level fighter, you know,
so you could be not easy to become a world champion as some boy, you know.
So it is like one of the highest competition in the world, you know.
So I don't know.
So Waba would occur, you get rescheduled again.
Did you know that's what it would be?
And do you feel like this one, if you win this one, you should earn a shot at the championship?
Should be. Should be. I don't know. We'll see.
Do you feel like it's taken longer than expected, though?
Like, the way you were going through all these fights,
it seemed as though you would have already fought for the championship.
Yeah, man. They remember before Habib, before the title, they hold him.
It took forever.
Yeah. I think it's going the same again against me as well.
I don't care about whenever I get my belt,
the people are going to say, here is the champ.
How do you see this fight going down this?
weekend? When the fight, go in, take a week there. Doesn't matter how. So when you fought
tomorrow, Usman, it seemed as though in the third round you started to fatigue a little bit. Do you have to
kind of get off the gas earlier? Do you have to be a little more patient in your approach? Because
before, that blitz that you had was just getting guys out of there. But then as you raise in
competition, Usman now Whitaker, those guys are tough enough, have seen enough,
Tordi might still be there.
In the end, do you have to start a little slower
this weekend against another former champion?
No, I'm going to be myself, man.
It's just going to go and fight with this guy, man.
So if he run away, I'm going to run after him.
If we're going to fight, I'm going to fight.
So that's it.
So it's going to be Hamzachmaier there.
Would you learn about yourself in that Usman fight?
Third round, tired, former champion.
Like, what did you learn there?
I don't think, man.
All the fights may learn a lot of different things,
different fighters, different.
Of course, Usumann is one of the best guys who could die fight, you know, so...
It was good.
But Usman was tired as well, man.
Yeah, he was.
Bold, bold, yeah.
I prepared...
It's natural.
Yeah, but I'm preparing a fight for the guy who is not,
don't know how to defend the takedowns, and you go with one of the best wrestlers in
UC, you know, so that's the different, you know.
And of course, you're going to get tired.
tired. Usma was tired. I was tired. Yeah. It's normal. The champion's Drake is Duplice. What do you make of him?
Because I got to be honest, man. At first, I thought he wasn't very good. But clearly he's good, right?
Because he beats everybody and then he goes and finishes at Asana. Like, what do you make a drink is duplice?
Especially seeing that he got, he submitted Izzy. I've never seen him submit anybody.
Yeah, but Easy is going down slowly. I don't think so. He's that motivated like before.
You don't think so?
I don't think so, but Izzy is better fighter and depreciating?
You think Izzy's better than Dracus?
Yeah, but they fought.
Yeah, they fought, but like a fighter, I mean, but that, then you have a, how much you're hungry, how much you want?
Yeah.
These things are, you can be a bad fighter and you could be, as a young guy can beat you up four rounds and last round because of your heart, you win the fight, you know.
So that's, I think he don't have anymore, I think, but he is a good fighter.
He's not by fire.
I think he's much better than Depressy.
But DuPrecis wants more.
He wants to be a champ.
He wants to stay there.
That's why he took the belt,
win the fight.
Duplice is big.
He can wrestle.
Bo Nicol also talks like you two are going to fight.
You start to get shots at everybody.
Everybody's coming after you.
Yeah, everyone talks, yeah.
Like, you know, it's wrestling.
It's MMA wrestling, like we talked about before.
MMA wrestling, freestyle wrestling,
is big different.
Somebody asked me that yesterday.
Who would win in a wrestling match
between Hamzaa Chamaio and Boa Nicol?
I said in a wrestling match,
wrestling shoes on the line,
Bullnickle.
But in MMA, all of your experience,
you'd be able to out-wrestle him.
Much easier would be,
the cage.
I could take him down easily,
submit the guy.
So I know the guy good in wrestling,
he'd be a national champ
or something like that.
So it's not a wrestling man.
Yeah.
You get the punch on the ground.
Yeah.
Submit it on the ground.
And I'm completely.
for MMA, not like just taking single leg, double leg.
Yeah.
So, yeah.
It's good to have you back, man.
It's been too long.
Thank you, man.
Hey, you might be a good wrestler, bold nickel, all those guys.
When have you ever found yourself stuck in an octagon with me?
I'll take your ass down over and over again.
Boom!
Hamza, you just going for a ride with me.
Oh, how many times I kill you?
Imagine if I was your weight class.
How many times I kill you?
Every time we wrestle, I kill you.
Guys. Never. Never. Never. Never. Never.
Brother, in your dreams, you can't rest of me more. Come on, in your dreams.
Hamzot Tremaya takes on Robert Whitaker this weekend in the co-main event UFC 308.
Make sure you guys hit that bye button. Make sure you tap into everything Hamzad's doing.
This guy seems to be a future champion. Let's see if we can continue that this weekend.
Until next time, tell you friends about my YouTube channel. I'm checking out with dudes like boars.
Until next time, guys. Peace.
Another podcast from some SNL, late night comedy guy, not quite.
On Humor Me with Robert Smygel and Friends, me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel, help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the
athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
