This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel
and friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes
for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

Hey, what's good, y'all?
You're listening to Learn the Hard Way with your favorite therapist and host, Kear Games.
This space is about black men's experiences, having honest conversations that it's really not safe to have anywhere, but you're having them with a licensed professional who knows what he's doing.
How many men carry a suit or armor?
It signals to the world that you're not to be played with.
And just because you have the capability that does not mean that you need to.

All right, guys, we're just getting done in Kansas City.
And I know that we usually do these wrap-ups after every fight night or every pay-per-view.
But with Max Holloway fighting, I figured we should do something for Max Holloway.
Guys, it was a tremendous fight night in Kansas City.
The fans came out early.
they were here the entire time.
And once again, Max Holloway proves that his time is not done yet.
He fought a very tough in-game Arnold Allen, and he got the job done.
He was sharp.
He was pristine.
And I thought the fight was a little closer than the judges had it.
The judges had it 49, 46, 49, 46, 48, 47.
I thought 48, 47 was the score.
That's just not how it was judged.
Max Holloway was a little more dominant than we anticipated.
I think the most important thing to think about was Max's patience in this fight.
He showed that he's still improving and that he's getting better.
He wasn't reckless.
He wasn't throwing caution to the win.
He only did that in the last 10 seconds.
This reminded me of the fight when he pointed to the center of the outdown in Anaheim,
and they just went out of it for 10 seconds.
Tonight against Arnold Allen, with the last 10 seconds, he dropped Allen
because he said, let's just fight.
It was a fantastic fight night,
and I think that the fans were probably the most impressive thing.
The U.S. he doesn't go to places I can't city off,
but when they do, they show out from fight number one.
There have to be 7,000 people in this building, watching.
And let's not even talk about fight number one,
some of the absolute worst judging I have ever seen in my entire life.
It was crazy that,
And I have nothing against Josh and I was, but she won that fight.
I don't know how she won that fight.
She got beat.
It is what it is.
We had some tremendous performances tonight.
We had some big knockouts tonight.
Some great submissions.
We had some younger fighters making their way up.
We had some older fighters kind of shut the door.
Another one of those fights is Edson Barbosa.
But before I get into that, you know, D.C.'s got to pay some bills.
Today's video, guys, is brought to you by the Game Time app.

Now, two Edson, Barbosa, and Billy Quarantello.
Guys, there's always the time of the young fighter's career
where they have to go through a veteran,
someone that they've looked up to over the course of their lives,
to get to where they're going.
Tonight, Edson Barbosa showed, I ain't done.
Edson was not ready to give up this spot,
and he showed that he's still very viable in this division.
Guys, it was more than just those great performances, though.
We saw some retirements.
We saw Zach Cummings retire in Kansas City.
The atmosphere for him was second to none.
There's never been a time in his career where he has received this love and admiration
and people just respecting what he had did over the course of career.
During the fighter meeting, he told me that maybe he would walk away.
He wasn't sure though.
Maybe this would be it for him.
It would be a fairy tale ending to be here in Kansas City, win the fight, and then leave his gloves in the center of the octagon.
I'm interviewing him in there.
Someone brings in his daughter.
He starts to cry.
The crowd is going crazy when I asked him the retirement question.
He said he had one fight left on his UFC three and he does, you know what, but?

A win is a win.
A win is a win.
I don't care what you're saying.
Yep, that's me, Clifford Taylor the 4th.

Hey, this is Robert from the Stuff to Blow Your Mind podcast.
Joe and I are both lifelong Star Wars fan,
so we're celebrating May the 4th with a brand new week of fun,
thought-provoking Star Wars-related episodes.
Join us as we tackle science and culture topics from a galaxy far, far away,
such as the biology of tauntons and wampas on the ice planet hot,
or the practicality and corporate business sense of the Sith rule of two.

I couldn't imagine doing this again when I just had what happened for me tonight.
He knocks out in Herman at the very end of the third round to not only win, but win by a knockout.
It was absolutely fantastic.
It was a great moment as the light start to come back up on your boy, D.C.
I'm back, baby.
It's not dark no more.
I was trying to get you guys this content.
I get done with the Zach Cummins interview
and I get a text in the ear
Ed Herman's walking away
I figure we owe it to Ed Herman
to give him his Rose
it's a guy that competed on the Ultimate Spider
Season 3 with Michael Bisbon
last guy acted from that show
and that season
so I go on the mic and once again
another heartfelt retirement
guys there's something to
watching these guys that you grow up in this sport watching walk away, it was heartbreaking.
I literally felt like I could have cried whenever I was walking back to my seat.
Because even though Zach Cummings and Ed Herman never reached the ultimate goal of becoming champions,
they always felt so connected to our journey in mixed martial arts.
So watching them walk away really was hard for,
a guy like me who has been watching the sport for so long.
And then the boy Clay Guida got me.
I mean, that was crazy.
Clay Guida gets me.
He tells me that he's retiring, so I hand him the microphone.
Clay takes the longest post interview of the entire night.
Clay Gwita's interview was longer than Max Holloway.
He goes, what's up, Kansas City?
Crowd Pop.
He goes, I trick you.
I'm not retiring.
Everybody is in my ear.
telling me get out of the octagon he gives me no space to pull the microphone back play goes on for
minutes i get back dana looking at me the boss is in my ear what i'm supposed to do i thought
quake gweed was walking away from the game man he goes i tricked you do want to oh fight it of me
that is some of the craziest shit i've ever experienced i could not believe my boy clay guida
did me like that that's crazy but ultimately guys the night belonged to max holloway
because he's a guy that has been at the top of the sport,
and very rarely do you see someone get to the top,
lose, and still have that type of drive to become a champion again.
Max Holloway is a savage,
and tonight he showed another version of himself,
and he seems to be getting better every single time.
What a night from Kansas City, the barbecue was great,
the people were great, the crowd was great,
she's been a great week.
Guys, until next time, like, subscribe,
tell your friend to tell a friend D.C.'s got a YouTube channel.
So tap in.
And use the game time app.
I've used it.
Save some money on some last minute tickets.
Kansas City, guys.
I'll see you next time.
Peace.
