This is an IHeart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Hey guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
And guess what?
We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
But, you know, tired and sick.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you.
you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Welcome in everybody to Fantasy Pros. This is the Fantasy Football Podcast. It's me, Joey P.
Joe Pee, Zapia, and it's official. Last night was the national championship game. A winner was
crowned. A perfect season was had for the first time, 60 and O in a very, very long time, first time in
the last century plus, which means officially we can turn the page of the college football season into
NFL draft season, and we don't wait very long to do that.
that. Pat Fitzmorest is here. Scott Bogman is here, the host of our Dynasty podcast and a very
special guest because we want to kick things off right from ESPN.com from the Todd McShay show.
He's a Mench. He's Steve Mench. He is somebody that Fitsy and Bogman and I watch all the time.
And I just took a flyer and said, I don't know if you want to hang out with us and do a little mock draft.
And guess what? The answer was yes. And y'all are so lucky because he is here today.
Mench, welcome to the show. It's great to have you, man. How are you doing after last night's
championship game?
I'm good, man. That was the best game we've had probably since the Tua game. I mean, there's been a lot of blowouts. That was an awesome game. So I was psyched about that. I'm a little tired after that pod, the reaction afterwards. But I'm excited to be here. And that was a very nice introduction that I did not deserve.
Oh, well, okay. It's a last nice thing I'll say. I promise that going forward. Pat Fitzmorest. I know this is also that time like for you. You guys are, you know, you and Fittsey. Obviously, you and Boggman are always involved in the college world all year round. So this is the part where,
your world sort of collide, right? Fitsy, like you're getting the opportunity to take these players
that you've been watching for the last few months and start to drop them into NFL rosters.
And that process changes, right? We're going to have trades at some point theoretically. But also,
the way the board looks this year is very different, Fitsy. You're seeing teams, like the chiefs
picking a little bit earlier than we're used to and a few other ones. So I feel like it's kind of
like a whole new universe out there. It really is. It's a different landscape with some of the teams
We're used to seeing pick near the bottom of the first round picking up top and vice versa.
So, yeah, it's going to be fun.
And this is a great time of year.
I know, like, Mench is more involved in this stuff year round.
We're playing a little bit of catch up.
Well, Bogman is involved year round too.
I'm playing a little catch up on some of these guys, familiar with some, not so familiar with others.
Had to learn some pronunciations for this show.
But I'm ready to dive in, man.
Mench, how are you doing with your pronunciations?
Everything good for you?
Not great.
I'm terrible at him.
That's why I didn't take the...
You guys could take advantage because I specifically didn't take the Penn State Guard because I still don't know how to say his name.
At least you guys, you know.
And that's the worst part for me because I do our NFL draft live here every year.
We do all this stuff.
And between I cover baseball and football and I do these shows here with us.
And, you know, sometimes it is like just me spending a good hour like before all of that, just making sure that I could say everybody's name correctly.
Because I mean, this is these kids' hopes and dreams.
I want to make sure I get it right.
You know, and I hate that about me.
You're right.
You're not Roger Goodell.
You're fine.
You're not announcing his name at the podium.
You're,
you're all doing fine.
So Mount Noah.
This is one of,
I own age,
I believe.
Okay,
that's the name.
All right.
Scott,
tell me something.
How many mock drafts
will you be doing from now
until actual draft night?
Yeah,
I mean a lot,
obviously.
And it,
it's just fun to play around
with all of the different combinations
that you could possibly do.
I'll say this, every mock draft that we do right now is pretty useless until free agency's over.
But it's a great, it's a great way to talk about the prospects, talk about the fits, talk about all of the players.
That's what we do first, second, and third round.
It's not to be perfect.
It's to get a sense of all of the players that are in this draft and where a team can take advantage,
where they can, you know, make some hay and what they should probably be looking for in free agency.
It helps that.
so you know what is out there in, you know, in a real draft.
So what is available to you through free agency, what is available to you in the actual
draft.
I think every team does this, every GM does this, like, okay, if this team takes this and
science this, this is what we're going to do.
So it's just a lot of fun to get to know this class.
And it's not the best class, right?
Everyone is looking forward to 2027.
We know that.
But there are going to be great players that come out of this class.
There's great players that come out of every single, even.
the Kenny Pickett and Malik Willis class had some good players.
So even that one.
Yeah, it is a little light in the quarterback loafers, unfortunately.
So it's not going to be as fun from a fantasy perspective there.
But there are some great wide receivers here.
Spoiler alert, maybe a running back or two, maybe go in the first round.
We'll see we're only doing one round here today.
As we go on later, we'll do second, third and all that stuff.
But just one round.
And we are going to start with a quarterback.
Now, normally we kind of go round rob and let everybody make a pick here.
But the Las Vegas Raiders, they certainly earned that number one spot.
And it seems like the consensus is going to be Fernando Mendoza.
And I know a lot of people.
Oh, is that it?
Is that all it is today?
After last night.
It was an incredible play, by the way.
The effort to get the first down and then continue on and hurl himself into the end zone.
Like that is a classic all-time college football championship game moment right there.
And he keeps giving us those mench.
And I want you to talk to me about Mendoza first because I think Vegas, all of us just see this being the fit.
Tom Brady was there and wearing his Raiders gear, I might add, last night too,
something you don't see him very much doing.
Usually it's a nice suit or some very expensive leisure wear.
Instead, he was wearing some Raiders gear.
And it feels like for any questions that you can have about Mendoza,
maybe he needs to put on a little bit more weight.
Maybe he takes too many sacks sometimes.
Maybe the arm strength isn't elite.
The guy wins.
The guy continues to just show up, show out, and get Ws.
And in an organization with the Raiders, we've lost so much,
how important is that to changing potentially,
the entire culture around that team with this pick.
Well, he's an interesting dude.
I am fascinated to see how he fits in an NFL locker room because he's kind of quirky,
but I don't think that'll matter to a vet when they see how hard he works and how he shows up.
And then, as you alluded to, when you watch him in big moments, whether it was at Iowa,
whether it was at Penn State, whether he was beating Oregon at Oregon, Ohio State in the
conference championship game, you know, he just finds ways to make plays in big moments.
That Indiana team's a lot better than I think people gave it credit.
They talked a lot about Mendoza this year because some of the stat lines were insane about,
you know, I think going into the last night's game,
he had more touchdowns and incompletions by a fair amount.
And he's been so efficient that it's been an incredible run for him.
I don't have him as one of the elites.
Like when he gets compared to Joe Burrow, it makes me cringe a little bit.
I don't think he's quite there.
But he's an accurate course.
He's got some ability. He's got more than enough arm strength.
And what do you want in your quarterback other than him making plays when it matters most?
And again, that's just what he does.
And if you're Brady, I would think you would love this kid because that's what you're really looking for in a quarterback.
We can you can go through all the traits and the frame and the arm strength and the accuracy and all the analytics that you want.
But when it's all on the line is the kid got what it takes to win.
And he does.
And, you know, another thing that you saw last night is he,
I mean, he got the crap kicked out of it.
I mean, he's bleeding, I think, after the first series.
Oh, his arm after two, when he showed his arm and the bruises on his forearm.
Oh, my God.
I mean, Miami was, you know, really pushing the limits of what's legal and what's not with some of those hits.
But, you know, that being said, the way he responded, it didn't really phase him.
And the way that he scrambled for the touchdown.
And, you know, I said it kind of reminded me it's not the same thing.
I know.
But it kind of reminded me the Elway run against Green Bay.
and that he was willing to do whatever it takes to make the play
and extend and expose himself to a big hit and all of that stuff.
So he's a really good quarterback prospect.
And there are, quite honestly, there's no one close to him.
Ty Simpson really fell off the map.
It's, you know, halfway through the season
and doesn't have the kind of starting experience.
Dante Moore is going back.
A quarterback I really like from Oregon.
So, I mean, it's, they need a quarterback.
There's one quarterback in this class.
this is just, you know, let's not overcomplicate it, right?
Do you think that Moore had, he's going to go in next year, obviously,
but do you think more is the better long-term prospect NFL-wise than Mendoza?
100%.
100%.
I just think he's got more tools.
I see, I've said Mendoza reminds me of golf, Jared Gough, and I really like Jared Gough.
That's not a knock.
I think Jared Gough's an excellent NFL quarterback who, you know, hasn't gotten there yet,
but he's just really good at running the offense and distributing the ball.
He's got some mobility.
That's what I see with Mendoza.
I see Dante Moore is turning into, and I think my guy, McShay, compared him to Marcus Stroud,
I see more of a Justin Herbert, Drake, May type player.
He's got to fill out his frame a little bit.
I think he's that good.
I think his downfield passing is that good.
When we talk about layered throws, we're making that throw over linebackers into pockets
and zone looks, that's where Dante Moore excels.
I think he made the right decision going back, and we'll see.
It could backfire, but I think he made the right decision.
going back and getting more experience, but he's a guy, it's going to be a loaded quarterback
class in 27, but Dante Moore, keep an eye on him.
All right.
As a Packer fan, Fitsy, I'm going to let you continue to marinate about that L-Way memory,
because I'm sure that's a favorite of yours.
A Boggs, there's probably not a more raider-sounding name than Fernando Mendoza and probably
not a more possible or should I say a least possible personality for the Raiders, historically
than what Fernando Mendoza is, which is.
kind of a fun dichotomy that I enjoy.
How does that fit all together?
I know winning cures everything,
but Boggs, you know, to Steve's point,
there is a little bit of that syrupy sweet.
He's a very different personality,
and this is a professional locker room,
not a college one.
Yeah, I saw, you know,
one of those NFL mock accounts or whatever
that makes fun of stuff where it said,
here's all Mendoza's great traits,
and then his bad traits is that he's an effing nerd,
is what it said on that side.
Right?
That's the only thing.
like, sure, he's a big goofball, but he is a well-intended and a moldable, coachable person.
That is all that you need in that with his skill set.
So I think, I think the comparison to Goff is great.
Like, I think he's obviously a little bit more mobile than Goff, but in terms of sealing,
I think that's probably it.
And Goff has taken a team to the Super Bowl, right?
So that's a very good player.
Yeah, they need to fix probably four-fifths of that offensive line before.
Anything else happens?
good for this franchise along with Mendoza,
but they're on the right path by drafting this guy.
He's a great player.
He's a great leader,
and he is going to lead this franchise for a long time
and sell a lot of jerseys
because he's just the most likable person in the NFL.
And he's not even,
he's not too obnoxious about it.
I think people are tired of him
because you've seen him do a victory speech
after every game in the playoffs, right?
But he's not going to do that every game.
So he's not going to go undefeated in his NFL career.
So that stuff will wear off.
He's not, you know, he's a great dude.
Oh, he's genuine.
There's no doubt.
It's all genuine.
It's not an act.
You could tell what that kid.
You can tell with a family, too.
It's a real thing.
Fidsey, what do you think of the golf comparison that Steve threw out there for him?
I like that one.
I do too.
And, you know, it's someone who has offspring at Indiana University and has followed the team
pretty closely this year.
Like, I think his arm is actually kind of underrated.
Like, his ball placement is fantastic.
And Lord knows he has three pretty good receivers there with Elijah Surratt and Omar Cooper and Charlie Becker.
But the way he just throws this catchable ball and he puts it in great spots and he gives his receivers a chance to make yards after the catch a lot of the times.
Like I think the arm's kind of underrated.
As for the personality, we're talking about a guy who's going to Las Vegas.
I don't think it's such a bad thing that he's a nerd.
I don't know if you want a Johnny Man.
That's actually a good point.
You don't have the rime.
This guy is going to be,
he's going to be,
yeah,
he's going to be having,
he's going to be having his milk and cookies
on Saturday nights before games.
You don't want Johnny Mansell,
a guy like that going to Las Vegas,
you know,
so.
It's a point,
Vincent.
Or hosting a game game.
Kind of an endearing football nerd
a little bit like Peyton Manning
in a way, I think.
So I think it's a great pick
for the Raiders.
Between Manning and Tebow.
I feel like he's,
got a Kirk Cousins vibe.
Oh, yeah, that's that's a better one.
Yeah, I just feel like that's.
There's no doubt about that.
It just, it feels like that to me.
Kirk is that.
Yeah.
And look, and that's a good thing.
And look, the Raiders are, like, he's positioned also because, you know, you do have
Brock Bowers there.
You have Ash and Genty.
There's a premium talent there that's still very young.
You need to fortify the offensive line this offseason and all of a sudden, potentially
now you're in a much better spot for the Raiders.
Now, look, we spent a lot of time on Fernando Mendoza because this is the first one of these
shows.
He's going to be the first pick.
It's probably the biggest fantasy pick.
Your only super flex option in this first round, most likely, that is going to make a difference.
But also the shrikel down effect of what he means in fantasy too.
So we're going to spend less time on some of these other guys on the defensive side too.
And we're going to roll through, give you our 30 second to a minute spiel on all these guys,
as the guys made their picks already.
And so the number one pick is already done.
Fernando Mendoza, the consensus pick.
So we're going to move and begin the draft now with the Jets on the clock at number two.
And that means, Steve, you are on the clock.
Struggled with this one, as I did with a bunch of these.
And it just came down to me trusting my board.
I think the Ohio State linebacker, R.V.L. Reese is the best player in this draft.
I think the Jets can go in a number of different directions.
I'm taking R.V.L. Reese.
Yes, off the ball linebacker is a scary thing to take second overall.
It's not something you really want to do, something that I would tell you not to do most of the time.
this guy's got some edge
like the ability to play edge as well
and when I see his reps at edge
and the way he comes off the ball and
rushes the passer I get super excited about that
so there's a number of different ways
you can use him and I think about
you know I'm not comparing him to Micah Parsons
because I think they have a different kind of game
but when Michael Parsons I think he went 12th
is that right he went 12th to the when he was drafted
you know you don't do it issues
and then at the time right and he was also
he was
as a linebacker. He wasn't seen as an edge guy. So I think when you look at that, you don't,
there are certain outliers, there are certain guys that you take the chance on. And to me,
Arvel Reese is that guy. And that's why I ended up going with him. Now, watching Rubin Bain last
night against Indiana made me think that might not have been the best decision because you have
more of a, like a pure edge there. But I'm comfortable with Reese. I love his tape. I think he's,
you know, if you're worried about him being a little lean at 245 pounds, he's about the
size that Will McDonald was coming out of college.
So like it's not it's not unheard of for him to, you know, to play on the edge.
I think he'll do both and you got to use them in the right way.
But, you know, I'm trying to talk you into it.
I want Arville Reese, Ohio State.
It's your pick.
I like the thing.
You can take whoever you want.
So Arvel Reese and look to the point to Aaron Glenn, you know, obviously the Jets, not a
great season.
We all know that.
It's hardly ever a great season there with the Jets.
But he's trying to remake a defense in what his image is going to be.
And Reese certainly goes a long way, which brings us to the third pick.
here. Arizona Cardinals are up next. Pat Fitzmore as that pick belongs to you.
They are going to go with Rubin Bain, the edge rusher from Miami. Yeah. And I think Cardinals
fans might be a little mad if they don't get an offensive tackle here. Maybe they want to
trade down. And I get it. But the Cardinals were tied for 28th in Sacks and 29th in pressure rate
this year. And Josh Sweat is going to be 29 next year. Zavin Collins is going into the final
year of his deal. Jordan Birch, a day two pick last year, played like five.
500 snaps and had one sack. I would have given the Cardinals Arvel Reese if Munch hadn't given
him to the Jets. I guess Cardinals fans can blame Dante Moore for going back to school and forcing
the Jets to draft a non-quarterback. But what I hope Cardinals fans will understand if the Cardinals
do make this pick and go with Bain is that they're really only a small handful of special players
in this year's draft. And while there's some very good offensive line prospects, I don't know if any
of them are really special. Bain is special. And I hope the Cardinals front office recognizes that with
a chance to get either Reese or Bain at three, maybe you have to be more aggressive about working
on the offensive line and free agency. So just the strength and the explosiveness, the athleticism,
the motor with Bain are all plus plus. There was a play in last night's game. I think it was like
in the fourth quarter where Indiana looked like they had a hole on a run up the middle. And
Bain throws off a blocker with one hand and tackles the running back with his other hand,
basically doing two things one-handed that it would take some other guys.
But he's got short arms, Fitsy.
I know.
And there is going to be a lot of talk about his arm length.
It's going to be a thing.
You're right.
But no concerns with fame.
I don't care if he has T-Rex arms.
He's wrecking people by there.
Yeah, there you go.
All right.
That brings us to the Tennessee Titans who just got their head coach, Robert Sala.
That's good on that, man.
I like Robert Salas as a football coach.
He got screwed in the situation.
So I'm happy for him a second time around too.
Usually those guys who have the goods tend to do a little bit better of the second job.
And it's good for him to get a second job.
Now, what does he do with the fourth pick overall, Scott Bogwin?
I'm going to give the Titans David Bailey the edge out of Texas Tech.
And I considered a lot of players here for them.
You know, a wide receiver makes a lot of sense.
They are going to get Calvin Ridley back off of injury.
Fano, I think, is in play here because they do need a tackle,
but they spent their first round pick on Latham last year.
They signed Dan Moore to way too much money as a Steelish fan.
I know, you know, Dan Moore is pretty solid unless he's going up against Miles Garrett, though.
So I don't think they're going for an offensive lineman.
So I do think trading back is best option, but my idea is you already have one of the best interiors on the defensive line in the league with Jeffrey Simmons and Defendry's sweat.
So let's build this line.
Let's make this line disgusting like the Texans, right?
So we can win on defense.
And I think anytime you are putting together a great defensive line and a good front seven,
Cedric Gray really took a step for them.
I think you help your secondary, which has been one of the biggest issues for the Titans for years.
They keep trying to replace these players in the secondary.
They keep missing on picks.
So let's just stick to the defensive line and help the defensive line get everything better.
And David Bailey led the league or led the country, excuse me, and hits,
QB hits and sacks this year and was the number one rated defensive player on PFF.
Jeff. This is an amazing player, and he is going to be in the top 10, for sure, no doubt. So I think the Titans take him here at pick number four.
All right. The New York football giants are up next. And of course, John Harbaugh, now the new coach. And I have to imagine, Steve, with a Harbaugh and whatever they're going to be doing here with this team and remaking it, it starts in the trenches, does it not?
That's the way I went. And I, you know, I think they could go a receiver here, but I don't see the value. I'm not quite as high as some other people are on.
these receivers. You know, I thought about a defensive tackle here too, but Peter Woods, McClemson's
the top guy on my board and just didn't have a, didn't have a great year, so I didn't see the
value. And I'm looking at that roster and their right tackle, Jermaine Illumina,or had a, had a good year.
He's been a journeyman that's developed into a pretty good right tackle, but now he's a free agent
and he's earned the right to test free agency. I think he's going to be expensive. I think he's going
to be tough to keep. And they've got other decisions to make. So I'm kind of looking into the crystal ball here,
and anticipating them not keeping him with this pick.
And that's why I went with Spancer, Fano, the offensive tackle from Utah.
I think you put him plug and play starter at right tackle.
You have now have potentially one of the better tackle tannums in the league.
I'm really high on Fano.
I hear you that, you know, maybe there's not an elite guy like a Joe All in this class.
I get that.
I think Fano's got a very high ceiling.
I think outside of the Texas Tech game where David Bailey gave him some problems,
he's played really well.
the Outland Trophy Award winner.
Give me Fano there.
You need to keep Jackson Dard upright and healthy as much as you can
because he's going to do it to himself at times.
And you've got a young running back in Cam Scadaboo.
Keep building that offensive line.
Again, they got to improve that defense.
And a defense attack would be ideal here.
I just don't see a guy worth taking this early.
All right, fair enough.
And in all fairness, too, to Fano,
Bailey made a lot of people look bad.
So we can give them a pass.
It wasn't that.
It wasn't that bad.
It was the only game that,
that it was, oh, this is, you know, he was challenged.
Well, Bailey went four overall.
So I'm just going to do that to a lot of guys in the NFL, just like you did to a lot of guys
in college.
All right.
The Cleveland Browns are up next at six.
A lot of needs, including a head coach here at some point.
So Pat Fitzmorest, Morris, where do you want to give Cleveland at six?
Well, the Browns have two first round picks, number six and number 24.
They got number 24 from the Jaguars and the Travis Hunter trade last year.
Those first round picks, I feel like, are almost certainly.
going to be an offensive lineman and a receiver. The question is whether Cleveland can get more
bang for the buck by going offensive line first, receiver second, or vice versa. So, all right,
let's find out. I think offensive line is the bigger need. Browns basically need a complete rebuild
upfront. Tackle was a problem area this year and pretty much the entire interior of the
offensive line hits free agency this year. Joel Betonio, Wyatt Teller, Ethan Posick,
Betonio might retire. So Francis Maui Noah from Miami is the pick. And Maui Noah is just a freak athlete. He can give the Browns a combination of quickness and explosive power. I think some people do prefer Maui Noah to Fano. I would have taken Fano had he been here, but Munch made the decision for me by giving Fano to the Giants. So it's Mowanoa, and I know some people are worried that maybe he has to kick inside, but that's fine for the Browns. They need guard and tackle help. So
wherever he ends up.
I think he's a good play for the bronze.
All right.
That brings us to the Washington commanders at seven, Scott Bogman, you're up.
Yeah, I think we're getting into an interesting point in the draft here because we do have
the two of the best players are still on the board.
Jeremiah, I love the running back out of Notre Dame, Caleb Downs, the safety out of Ohio
State, but they're not premium position.
So I did consider them here for the commanders, but I ended up taking the linebacker,
Sony style from Ohio State.
and Sonny is going to replace Wagner on this team for me.
I mean, there's a chance of Wagner retires.
He could resign also.
But even with Wagner, Washington had the second most missed tackles in the NFL behind Sintz.
Siles had the number one tackle grade in the country.
He had 2,226 linebackers with 500 snaps.
He was number one.
He also had the second lowest mistackle rate with only two mistackles last season,
and he is sixth in coverage and yards allowed per reception.
So I think you just add a captain.
in the middle of this defense to make this team a lot better and help dismiss tackle problem
for Washington.
I think Stiles is probably the best fit for Washington on the board here.
All right.
The Saints have the eighth pick and I think a better season that a lot of people anticipated
coming off 2025.
Tyler Shuck looks like he's kind of ingratiated himself there and certainly the head
coach, Calmore, is in a nice job.
So looking to maybe add to the weaponry there, they did trade Rashid Shaheed.
so there's some room there at wide receiver.
And Steve, you went wide receiver for this pick for the Saints.
Yeah, it might be a surprise of which wide receiver I went with
because I think people are very high on Carnell Tate out of Ohio State who had a good year.
I think Jordan Tyson out of Arizona State's the guy.
I think he cut down in his drops this year.
I love him as a route runner, his ability to separate.
If you watch the McShay show, you know we are big fans of Tyler Shuck.
We got a chance to interview him at the Combine last year.
impressive guy. I think that his injuries and his age in college really kind of hurt him coming
out, but he's a good player. I think they found their quarterback. You got to get playmakers around him.
Krista Lave's awesome when he's healthy, but now it's a blood clot. He's had some issues that make
you wonder about the health. They have got to get Chuck a playmaker. I'm going Jordan Tyson.
And just to speak to Pat's point a little bit here, this is what's going to, this is what could
easily happen is that Caleb Downs and Jeremiah Love are going to start to fall because as good
as they are, they aren't at that premium position. So it's going to be interesting to see where they
end up going. But I like, this is where I think it's appropriate to start looking at the
receivers is right around this range. Okay. So right around that eight to 10 range, we'll probably see
maybe into the top 15 here. Some other wide receivers potentially go. That brings it to the Kansas
City Chiefs up at nine, a team that we're not used to seeing picking the top 10 as we spoke about
at the top of the show. So Pat needs there, especially in the run game too. We've been
patchworking this running back room together for years now, plural.
And you have Patrick Mahomes entering the season with an injury, rehabbing that injury.
You've got to support Patrick Mahomes.
Is this the Jeremiah Love spot?
Is it too early to take a running back?
What are your thoughts?
It is the Jeremiah Love spot, Joe.
And if Chiefs GM, Brett Veach, has the draft fall to him this way, he will have a chance
to correct one of the biggest draft blunders he has made during his tenure when in 2020,
he drafted Clyde Edwards Allaire with the final pick of the first round.
The Indianapolis Colts selected Jonathan Taylor nine picks later.
And can you imagine what the Chief's offense could have looked like the last six years with Jonathan Taylor at running back?
But now the Chiefs might get a shot at Love, who is one of the few special players in this draft.
And Munch, I know that when you and McShea did a first round mock on your show a few weeks ago,
McShea wanted to give Jeremiah love to the Cardinals at number three.
I don't know if he won't know.
Yeah.
Call him on that.
Somebody got to rail that guy in.
I mean, come on.
That is,
that's so not him.
That's not on brand for him.
I couldn't believe it.
That is,
you don't take a running back to him.
He's definitely the third best player in this draft,
probably,
if not one of the top two, though.
Correct.
He chikined out, didn't he,
and went with someone else.
But I mean, he actually made a really good case.
Oh, he did.
He did.
He stuck by,
He stood his ground and he did it.
But I will say this, Ash and Genti,
I mean, it wasn't Ash and Genti's fault that he wasn't good this year.
I don't think.
I mean, let's be honest about it.
I think the Chiefs are the funnest pick that is going to be the most interesting pick
that we've seen in years because they're not a team.
They can afford to make a luxury pick there.
I think they can actually take someone fun that a non-premian position could
be Kenyon and Sadiq from Oregon if Travis Kelsey retires.
I think those are the two names.
I love Jeremiah.
I love going here.
You love fantasy football and have a heartbeat.
Like you got to take Jeremiah love for the Chiefs here.
Yeah, I would think so.
I will say this.
Clyde Edwards-Hillard pick is tough because, yeah, Jonathan Taylor ended up being awesome.
But like, Edwards-Halear was, I mean, the numbers he put up at LSU that year were insane.
I expected him to be really good in that offense.
But we have Jefferson, Burrow.
That was that was white and pretty products.
Yeah, I know.
I know.
I know.
I know.
You know, maybe with the proper conditioning, I didn't think he's good as good as Taylor,
but I was really high on C.E.H.
I thought he thought he would benefit from the Chiefs environment, just like he'd
from the environment in college.
It just never translated for whatever reason.
Like a past catching back.
Yeah.
But it just never happened, unfortunately.
All of that being said, great pick here.
Great pick.
Yeah.
And Joe, to your point, I mean, with Mahomes coming back from this major knee injury, this is a way
to take some of the pressure off him.
And Love is just the best running back of this draft by far.
It's just not anywhere near as good a running back class as we saw last year.
I mean, Love just has such easy speed and incredible acceleration, contact balance,
just a human joystick in the open field.
And he can catch the ball.
So yeah, this is the weapon the chief's need.
All right.
Next up is Scott Bobby with the 10th pick.
The Cincinnati Bengals, another team not used to the top 10 recent years.
So where do they go, Box?
Yeah, I got him taking Caleb down.
And look, I think you have to consider any and all defensive players for this team.
Just take the best player on the board because the defense was so pathetic last year, right?
I know safety is not one of the low, it's one of the lowest priorities in the NFL, but Downs is a true stud.
And they just have to take BPA here.
Downs was the sixth graded safety overall.
He also was six in yards allowed per reception.
He played in the box.
He played slot.
He played free safety.
and he played on the line as a blitzer.
So this dude is a weapon.
You can move him anywhere.
I know they've whiffed on some safety picks,
but there is absolutely no whiffing on Caleb Downs here.
He's a great pick wherever he goes,
and he has to go in the top 10,
so we just snuck him in here at pick number 10.
Well, look, they never replaced Bates after he left.
Did you consider an edge, though?
Did you think that maybe the safety you do?
I did, of course.
I think you do.
hasn't paid off.
Stewart hasn't paid off, but you just invested in that.
I also think that they're going to sign.
They have to sign a couple players at Edge, not just.
Yeah.
So I think they have to add some depth there for sure.
But I also think there's, you know, there's a little bit of depth to this edge class.
So maybe they make some other picks, get some rotational guys in there.
But I think if you were since you can't go, you can't go wrong with Downs.
You have to take best player available.
You just have to, you have to stack BPAs for the next upcoming.
coming like three or four years on the defensive side.
Because I don't think, you know,
I was really impressed with the way Jim Harbaugh
and Jesse Minner came in and changed the Chargers defense
in a season.
I don't know that you can do that with the personnel in Cincinnati.
So you have to just take, keep taking BPA, in my opinion.
Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers.
And guess what?
We have some big news.
What's the news, huge news?
We created our own podcast called,
Hey, Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's extra special.
So how did we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Oh, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band.
Before Jonas Brothers was...
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast,
for people could call in and say, hey Jonas,
and then I wrote down in my little notepad, Hey Jonas,
and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcast.
Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy,
not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smigel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest,
SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and friends
on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast is.
Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
Listen to Superhuman on the I-Hard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
All right.
Next up, the Miami Dolphins at pick number 11.
So, Steve, you have that one.
They obviously got their new coach.
So what do you think the new identity of this team is going to be?
well I think they're this is oh this is the I look at this one now and I found out some things since then that make me a little bit hesitant about the player I took I love the tape the problem is the tape is from 2024 not 2025 and that's because Tennessee defense corner quarterback charmar termauchoy did not play this year in the ACL so didn't play love his tape from two years ago I thought he was going to be at the senior goal and he was going to go down there compete now my understanding he's
He's not going to be there.
Would have liked to have seen him move around a little bit.
He's the best corner in this class if he's healthy.
I really believe that they need a corner.
I felt like this was a good pick at the time,
but they could go in a number of different directions.
I went to Jemar McCoy because I believe that if he's right,
it'll be a great pick at that spot.
Well,
it wouldn't be the first time that an organization took a leap of faith
based on a player's ability, right?
It's like the Will Johnson situation.
There's a good one.
There is. I mean, it's kind of different than the Stingley thing because Stingley was healthy, but he had a bad year his last year at LSU. He didn't play as well. There's some, you know, you're betting on the talent, so we'll see what happens. There's some real injury concerns early on. Like Jordan Tyson's missed some time in the course of his career. Cardnell Tate missed some time this year. There's some guys in this group that I, that I like Caleb Banks for Florida. We'll see if he goes in the first round, but he's another talented player, didn't play much this year. There are some durability issues with guys who missed significant time this year. So.
Yeah, I just like taking the chance there.
We'll see how it pans out.
All right.
Next up here, after the Dolphins, we have the Dallas Cowboys at 12, and that pick belongs to you, Pat.
Yeah, the Cowboys are also going to go cornerback.
Trayvon Deggs has gone.
De Ron Blan just had foot surgery.
Savon Ravel, who they drafted last year, he has potential, but the Cowboys could use another quality cover guy.
McCoy, I do agree with Munch that if he's healthy, he is the top cover guy in this draft.
Bet Mansour Delane is the best healthy cover guy in this draft.
The best cover guy with no overwhelming health issues.
So they're going to grab him.
The Cowboys could use an edge here or could go after one,
but I think they get better value with a corner at 12,
and they can go fishing for an edge at number 20
with the pick they got from the Packers in the Micah Parsons trade.
There you go.
All right.
So another cornerback goes back to back here.
So that's two already off the board from.
the corner position. Let's continue on here with the next pick here, which is the Rams pick,
a pick they should never have this high, 13, considering the year that they've had. But you can
blame the Atlanta Falcons, everybody, because last year's aggressiveness, did it pay off? Not so much,
but here we go. Now the Rams are there. So kind of like the Chiefs, when we mentioned the vanity
pick, Boggs, it's kind of a vanity pick situation. So how vain does Sean McVeigh want to be here with
this team. I consider Ty Simpson here, but I think it's a touch early and there's still some really
good players. So with both corners that I wanted going the two picks before me, I'm looking at
wide receiver. And there, I think whatever wide receiver you want to take, maybe even Kenyon's
Deke, I think that fits here. And I know, look, this is a team with Pukua and Devante Adams,
but DeVante Adams is going to retire. It might be this year if they win the Super Bowl. And Pukunukua
has a lengthy injury history. So I think, plus you're going to have a.
a young quarterback taking over this team
within the next two years
at some point you would think
Matthew Stafford.
If not sooner, could be next year.
Could be next year.
As of recording this, we're still ahead of
So let's just stack targets
for whoever is coming in and Stafford
if he's back. So let's give them Carnal Tate the
wide receiver out of Ohio State.
The fourth best hands grade on PFF,
zero drops this year, 11th in yards
per route run. He improves
his contested catch percentage every
season. In this season, he caught
12 of 14 contested
contested catches. The floor is
insanely high. This is a dude that
gets lost in the shuffle
of the amazing wide receivers
at Ohio State, including Jeremiah
Smith, who is better than him,
but just not able to come out yet
because he's not old enough. He hasn't played enough years
in college, but he's
buried behind J.S.N. and Garrett Wilson
and Marvin Harrison Jr. and Crystal
Lave and just, you know, this is a
wide receiver factory, Ohio State. And I think
sometimes we get
fatigue from seeing all these names,
but this is one of the best wide receivers
in this class. I think it's between him and Tyson. I probably
would have taken Tate a little bit over Tyson,
but it's razor thin
between all. And I think McKay Lemon, you can throw
him in there too. He's just different
from those other two guys. These two guys are
sized guys and McKay Lemon is a speed dude. So a slot merchant.
So yeah, go
ahead, Munch. You're not alone.
You're not alone in the Tate versus Tyson
argument. I'll tell you that. It's pretty split.
I think it's thin, though.
Like, it is.
It's, it's, you can't, I like both of them.
I mean, you're going to.
Also, Steve doesn't also matter where they land, right?
What, what sort of offense you want them to land in?
And also what kind of offenses, you know, like the Saints, for instance, I think your
point about Olave is well taken.
Whereas with right, this pick that he's making, it feels a little bit like, well, there is still
puka there.
So there's a little bit of a learning curve.
It's going to be insulated.
Yeah.
I'm okay with either one, though.
I think if, I think New Orleans could take.
Tate and they'd be all right, and he'd hit the ground running too.
These are guys who are better route runners
than a lot of college
receivers you come out. I mean, there's
there are like, I mean,
there are receivers that you watch on tape
in college that run
vertical routes, crossers, and that's
about it. You know, this is what they do.
I mean, there's not a lot of
sophisticated route running. Whereas with Tate
and with Tyson, you could see them
get to the top of their route, stick their feet in the ground,
make cuts, set guys up, understand
leverage, when with their release at the line
a scrimmage. These are things that they do that translate to the NFL game for both of them.
And that's why I think, again, that's why you're going to say, well, this is why I like this guy.
And this is why I like that guy. Some guys who are not for Jordan Tyson are going to point to the
drops that he had last year and that he wasn't, didn't look natural catching the ball at times,
did a much better job this year. The guys, you know, who like Tyson are going to say maybe he's
a little bit better after the catch. Maybe he's got a little bit more juice. You know,
it's just, it's going to be a great debate back or forth. I think both of them will be great
in the league.
All right, next pick up here, the Baltimore Ravens.
Another team we're not seeing this early, typically.
Usually they go BPA.
This is a much easier situation to go best player available, but again, different regime.
So we're still waiting to figure out what that looks like.
In the meantime, what do you think is the best fit here for the Ravens, Steve?
Keldrick Falk, the edge from Auburn just seems like an Eric DeCost, a pick to me.
I mean, he's a versatile, big, athletic, talent, defensive lineman, who you look at and say,
well, the production's not there.
I think the tape is better than the production.
He can get after the quarterback.
He could play the run.
I think he's 6-6-285.
I mean, he just moves different for a guy that size,
and they're going to bet on the tools and on the upside,
and this is what they do.
They get talented defenders.
They got to improve that defense.
They get talented guys in the trenches.
I think they take Helderick Falk out of Auburn,
who I think could move up.
He might not even be there when they pick
and has been higher on the board,
I think for a lot of teams at times during this process.
So we'll see where he actually ends up going.
All right, that's the third edge rusher.
the board. Tampa's up next at 15, Pat. Where do they go? They go to the edge. The Buccaneers just
didn't get enough production from their edge guys last year. Like, yeah, yeah, Diabia is solid.
Hassan Reddick didn't really pan out. So the Bucks are going to go with Cassius Howell from Texas A&M.
And Howl at 11 and a half sacks in 13 games for the Aggies this year. He's a little undersized.
He's definitely a different kind of edge guy than Keldrick Balk. So Howl is 6-2-249, but just
ultra-quick and athletic. He's probably going to be a situational pass-rusher, but a really good one.
You know, I'm sure the Buccaneers would love to see Sunny Stiles available here, needing to
replace Levante, David, but obviously Stiles is already off the board. So Buccaneers are going
to take a pass-rusher. Scott Bogman, the Jets, with their second pick here in the first round,
this one coming from Indianapolis. So where do they go with pick number 16?
Yeah, we gave them Arvel Reese on the defensive side. And look, I think the best option for
Chats said any pick they have is trading back and getting more picks, right?
100%.
And then we're back next year at the top of the draft.
Don't work.
Right.
They'll have plenty more.
They need quarterback wide receiver corner edge, interior offensive line safety, all big needs for this team.
So I considered Ty Simpson.
I considered Big Iione, uh, Aviont Ty Leman, McKayleman, Cade McDonald, and Kim
Mesidor.
Like, I feel like you have to consider everyone.
But the stat that keeps sticking out to, to me is we all saw that Garrett Wilson led
this team in receiving yards and he didn't catch a pass after week six.
Let's give them Denzel Boston, the wide receiver out of Washington here.
And I did consider maybe you don't want a guy named Boston playing in New York, but
this is, uh,
maybe he sells less jerseys because of that.
But he's had 20 touchdowns in the last two seasons.
He's the six wide receiver in offensive grade ninth in receiving grade.
Strong hands, only two drops all years.
Ninth in first towns in the country.
So he's just a steady Eddie that you can pick up first downs with.
And whoever is a quarterback of the New York Jets is going to need some targets outside of Garrett Wilson.
We talked about availability being the best ability sometimes.
This guy is hit on the field too.
So I like Denzel Boston, a size guy going to the Jets as a pass catcher.
All right.
We are halfway through our first round.
I got to say this.
I'm sorry.
I got to say this.
No, go for it.
This might be my favorite pick in the whole, in this whole exercise, because I
I think this kid is wildly underrated.
And when you look at his frame and you look at the way he moves
and the way he can get contested catches,
I am the fact that he was the third receiver to come off the board.
This exercise makes a ton of sense to me.
So to me,
I think this is just,
this is a home run for them at this point of this draft.
It was,
it's,
again,
I've been high on Denzel Boston this whole time.
And I think because he's played at Washington a little bit,
you know,
out of mind for people.
they haven't seen a lot of Washington games this year.
He has been, I think he's an outrageously talented guy and a great pick there.
Pay attention, Dynasty and Fantasy managers to what everybody's saying about Boston here in this pick for the Jets.
So now they just need a quarterback to throw the football.
That'd be nice.
We'll see who that is.
Yeah, that would help.
All in good time, right?
Steve, all in good time.
In the meantime, this show is brought to you by our sponsor, Hard Rock Bet.

Next up here, as we get to the second part of the draft here, we'll pick up our pace just a tad here.
So after bossing goes, we go back to Steve at 17.
Lions are on the clock, where do they go?
They need an upgrade over Taylor Decker who's coming off a down year.
Code retire.
He's on the back nine of his career.
I'm going Caleb Lomu, the left tackle from Utah, who needs to maybe get a little bit stronger,
but has got a ton of upside, big frame moves really well for his size.
I think Caleb Lomu could be a plug-and-play starter at left tackle.
All right.
Next up the Minnesota Vikings at 18 for Pat Fitzmorest.
Joe, the three certainties in life.
death taxes and the Minnesota Vikings needing cornerback help.
So, yeah, their past defense was actually really good down the stretch.
I mean, they went almost two months without giving up a touchdown pass.
But I think that was more about Brian Flores in his scheme than it was about the quality
of the Vikings cover men.
So with Jeffrey Akuda about to become a free agent, Byron Murphy had to play outside at
times this season, but he does his best work as a slot guy.
So the Vikings are going to get AJ Terrell's little brother, Avian Terrell, from
Clemson. He's a sticky cover man with good speed and ball skills. Also pretty aggressive in
run support. So Avian Terrell to Minnesota. At 19, the Carolina Panthers up next. Scott Bogman,
the pick belongs to you. Yeah, I thought about Lomu here. Obviously, he went to Detroit,
a couple picks. But at Kwanu, you know, Joe and I, we were watching when he tore his
Patelertenden in that game. And he's a UFA in 27 as well. So maybe getting a left tackle is a priority
for them. I also considered some other
defensive players like Akim Mesidor and maybe even
Kenyon Sadeek, C.J. Allen, guys like that. But I went with
Caden McDonnell, the Interior Defensive Lyman
from Ohio State. And I'm
taking a lot of Ohio State Buckeyes here, by the way,
which was not my intent. Well, look, last year,
you got to take all the longhorns,
you're Mr. Texas. You got your year.
It's over now. This is your year.
All right. Next year, we'll see what happens.
Yeah, a lot of longhorns in the first round.
There's a lot of longhorns last year.
Yeah.
A lot.
And I do with Boggs on every one of these shows pretty much.
But McDonald is the best pure run stopper in this draft.
He's the highest grade interior defensive lineman against the run.
Fourthmost stops, 34.
That's a negative play for the offense among interior defensive lineman.
And look, if you're in this division, you're going to have to stop Bijon Robinson and
Bucie Irving for the foreseeable future.
So, you know, Carolina had historically the worst run defense in the league two years ago.
They improved to well below.
average this year, which is a nice
improvement, but Sean Robinson is
also a free agent, so they need some guys in that
interior to stop the run. So
Cade McDonald it is. Okay, so
McDonald off the board to Carolina, that goes to
20, back to Dallas with their second
pick here. So Steve, what do they do with pick
number two in the first round?
Who would I give them a key messador? That's right.
It's an edge for Miami.
Yeah, we talked about, Steve, edge rush.
Yes. That feels like what the first round is.
Listen, I, I joke,
but like, there's just not enough of them in the world.
Everyone wants them and there's just not enough.
But they got their corner with their first pick and now they get the edge with the second
pick at Kim Messador, who I think people might think this is early for him.
I actually don't know if he's going to be on the board at this point.
When you watch him on tape, he is, I mean, Bain might be a slightly better player,
but Messador is right there with him with how relentless he is, how powerful he is.
One of the things that I really love about his game is that he, they kick him inside and
he is an absolute nightmare for interior offensive lineman to block.
That's something you got to watch with him.
And we talk about this a lot.
McShay and I on the McShay show when we evaluate pass rushers.
Guys who win with speed, that's great.
It all looks good at college.
If you really have to win with power at the NFL level and you have to win with your hands,
and the key messador has got violent hands.
He throws guys around.
So, you know, I think that's at this point in the draft to get an edge that talented.
I might actually take him over a Cassius Howell.
I might take him over, I already took Cal the frog, but I might take him over Cassius Howl,
because the concern with Cassius Howells is the size and that he didn't do it against great competition.
But Messador is a lot to go on the first round, in my opinion.
All right.
So Messador, the pick here for the Dallas Cowboys, Edge Rusher from Miami.
Next up here, 21, the Pittsburgh Steelers.
And no, Scott Bagman, you're not allowed to make this pick for your Steelers.
It's Pat Fitzmorest instead.
So give him what he wants.
Yeah, I hope I'm going to get validation from Bogman on this one.
I'm giving the Steelers, Mackay Lemon, the wide receiver from USC.
And Pittsburgh obviously needs a quarterback to replace Aaron Rogers, who we expect to retire.
I just don't think Ty Simpson is good enough for the Steelers to plan their offensive future around.
He was great early in the season, looked like a surefire first round pick,
21 touchdowns and one interception in his first nine games, but then he really fell off down the stretch.
Only 6.2 yards per attempt in his last six games, never had more than two.
232 passing yards in any game during that stretch, four interceptions.
So the Steelers were so undermanned at receiver this season, just D.K. Metcalfe and basically no one else.
So they're going to add Mackay Lemon, primarily a slot guy, but that's fine.
The Steelers could use an upgrade over Calvin Austin and Roman Wilson, who just hasn't panned out.
Lemon is an advanced drought runner, terrific against zone, good hands, good body control, and dangerous after the catch.
Boggs, is that good with you for your next quarterback?
Oh,
Hill, yes.
An air quote.
Please.
Please.
We need an explosive playmaker, right?
Because the big burst plays are like three from D.K. Matt Calf all year.
And then whenever Kenneth Gainwell decides to get slippery, right?
So they need a playmaker and McClellan and his grease lightning man.
This dude just gets, put him in those whip routes.
No one can stay with them at all.
He is very speedy, very slippery and a kick and punt returner as well.
So I love that pick for my Steelers.
Chargers next at 22 Boggs, you're up.
I didn't consider anybody else.
Vega Ione, the interior offensive lineman from Penn State.
It's what they need.
There it is.
The most, you know, Joe Alton Slater got hurt this year.
So Herbert had no Mississippys back there to throw the ball at all.
Just not a single one.
And you look at this interior offensive line, man.
These grades are awful.
They're all below average.
Zion Johnson, 54 of 80, pending 65 of 80.
Bechtin, 78 of 80,
Bozeman, 38 of 38 graded centers.
You know, I know not everybody uses PFF, but it's, you know, what we got.
So only the Browns.
It's not, it's not Bechtin's fault.
It's the scheme.
You see that?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
Your guard, dude.
I think the scheme should, you should be all right in any scheme, but go ahead.
Sorry.
Yeah.
I mean, just, just, you know, use your weight, man.
What are you doing?
Yes.
That last and run block grade.
I only 11th out of 228 graded offensive linemen in past block grade, or ninthth in past block grade,
11th run block rate. Zero sacks, zero hits, four hurries allowed.
One penalty, only five penalties in 2,307 snaps, Brione.
I mean, just, this is what you do.
And by the way, they were interviewing Arthur Smith for O.C.
the other day, they're going to run the ball eight million times if Arthur Smith is combined
with Jim Harbaugh for this team.
So let's just get him a road grader.
And there's only going to be two different run plays if it's Arthur Smith, too.
Let's go to number 23.
Right.
23 Philadelphia Eagles are up.
Steve, back to you for this one.
I'm going Oregon tight-in Kenyon, Sadiq here.
Dallas Guard it. We'll see what happens.
Can they get him back on a team-friendly deal?
That's going to be interesting.
Again, this is a little bit of looking into the crystal ball that maybe he doesn't come back.
I think he should be in consideration either way, to be honest with you.
This is the most talented tight-end in the class.
I think he will somehow some way.
I don't know where because I think everyone's making really good picks, to be honest with you.
But I think there's a chance that he goes a lot earlier than this.
The knock on him,
might be a little bit that he had some drops.
He's also made some fantastic catches.
He's a very natural pass catcher.
So some of the drops, I'm a little bit.
You'll clean those up.
I think he's going to be all right.
After the catch, he's different.
He moves a lot different than most tight ends.
When you look at his build, he's a thicker guy,
and he's a really competitive blocker that I can think would fit well in the Eagle scheme.
I think he's a good fit.
I think he's a good value.
I think that's why I'm going with him there.
If AJ Brown gets shipped out before the draft,
Do you think it still becomes a tight end
or do they pivot to wide receiver with Concepcion
or if Lemon falls, someone like that?
I would be more intrigued by Concepcion.
I really like, but he's a smaller guy.
Lemon and Devante Smith, you'd have 120 pounds.
I was going to say, they fit nicely.
It's a team boss.
You know, the team flight, you know,
to worry about the weight requirements with things like that, you know.
And McShay gives me a hard time about size
because I said last year,
Emeka, Bucca, was, you know, a smaller guy,
but he was six foot.
Like, these other guys,
I love Mekine Lemon.
I don't know how big he's going to be.
So I kind of want to see how his tape is awesome.
He's going in the first round.
His tape is awesome.
But I want to see exactly how big he is.
Like Casey Concepcion, I think, is going to be another one of those guys that's in the 180s and sub six foot.
I don't know if that is, I think they might go in a different direction altogether than if they don't take a time in.
Yeah.
All right.
Yeah.
Next up here.
So after the tight end selection of Sadiq, you have Cleveland up next here from Pat
Fitzmore's, what do you have?
Well, now that Mench has already
pre-shaded this pick,
I'm going to take Casey Concepcion.
He's a great fit in Cleveland.
He's perfect for Cleveland.
He is.
I mean, the Browns went offensive line
with their first pick,
and now they have to address this
screaming need.
They have a wide receiver with Concepcion,
who's an electric slot guy.
I mean, he's a really good rot runner
and just a demon with the ball in his hands.
919 yards and nine touchdowns for the Aggies this season.
He had an early, early college breakout with 71 catches, 839 yards, 10 touchdowns as a true freshman at NC State.
Next week is senior bowl week.
Menscher, are you going down to Mobile?
I am.
I'll be there.
I predict that we are going to see a lot of people tweeting from Mobile about how no one can stay with Casey Concepcion.
No one can cover him.
Yeah, I watched his tape and I texted him and said, this kid uncovered is as good as anyone else in the class.
You're dead on about that.
He is, you know, I already talked about how much I like Tate and Tyson as route runners.
This kid gets open.
He is tough.
Another guy that, again, I look for, do they win with their release?
Do they win at the line of scrimmage and get open quickly?
He does that all the time.
And he is great after the catch.
I think he's good in the return game.
He's a playmaker.
Again, I'm an old grumpy dude who goes back to this height, height, weight, speed with some of these guys.
And I don't like the smaller guys.
And there's a lot of people in the league right now who think that the trend is going towards smaller receivers.
Real quick before we move on, let me ask, since we had this dilemma with the Browns, do they go offensive linemen then receiver or receiver and then offensive linemen?
Which combination would you guys rather have Francis Mowano and Casey Concepcion or Jordan Tyson and Caden Proctor?
I would rather have the O line first.
I mean, because you need to.
I agree.
You need to keep guys off of Sanders.
I'm going to go the other way.
I love Maui and Proctor.
Proctor is inconsistent but super talented.
And if you can get him right, my concern with Maui Noah is I think I definitely start him at right tackle.
But there's a lot of people.
There's a lot of people that what's that?
Yeah.
Let him fail first.
Yeah.
Right.
Let him figure it out.
If he's good there, then you just leave him there.
But if he does, this is my concern.
if he kicks inside, now you've spent that early first round pick on a guard.
So now would you rather, like if you start reframing the conversation and say,
would you rather a guard in a wide receiver or a tackle in a wide receiver?
And to me, there is a bigger gap between Jordan Tyson because I like the frame.
I think he's a better, I think he's much better prospect of Concepcion as much as I do like
Concepcion.
And I think this is an appropriate time for when he will go.
That's a great exercise, by the way.
That's a great exercise to do.
Would you rather this or that?
All right.
Next up here, we have the Chicago Bears at 25.
So Boggs, that pit belongs to you.
Yeah, this is probably my most difficult pick
because I know Bears fans want the sexy edge rusher.
I just don't know if there's one here for them.
There are a couple I consider T.J. Parker, Romello High, you know,
corner as well.
C.C. I think is in here, Abney.
McNeill Warren, the safety, I think, are all possibilities.
But I went with Peter Woods, the Interior Defensive Lyman from Clemson.
the Bears were 27th in rushing yards allowed,
29th in yards per carry,
29th in opposing rush attempts
that went for first downs, right?
So a lot of teams running for first downs
against this front seven,
and I think Peter Woods is a clogger.
Everyone at Clemson was a little worse last season,
and Woods is a bit of a project,
but he can move all around the formation.
He has heavy hands.
He has great get-off,
and he collapses the line really well.
And I think that's what you need.
If you are going to have other guys,
if you're going to trade for Max Crosby,
if you're going to make some moves to get an edge rusher.
I think you need a guy on the interior collapsing this pocket.
And I think that's what Peter Woods can do for them.
Steve, the bill's up at 26.
Look, people ran on them all day long in the regular season and the playoffs.
They got to get some help up front, right?
Well, I mean, all I hear about is how they have to get a receiver and I,
and how Josh Allen is help.
Yeah, I need that too.
Let's be honest.
Yeah, Josh Allen does need help on defense, in my opinion.
I think they need to get better on defense.
And that's going to help Josh Allen not have to carry as much of.
the weight. And that's why I went with Caleb Banks, the defensive tackle from Florida.
Probably a guy who played three games this year. I think if he plays the whole season,
he's going a lot earlier than this. Huge frame. Athletic can line up anywhere along the defensive
line. Immediately makes that run defense better, which I think is a, you know, I thought they
were pretty good against Denver and stopping the run, but that's not been the case in a lot of
situations. They've got to get better on defense to help Josh Allen, in my opinion. They're already
putting up points with the receiving core that they got. And they do need to get some
guys and they get and they can find those guys through free agency and in other ways and later on
the draft they probably find some guys i'm investing in the defense he needs help from the defense
more than anything else so i want caleb banks from for you and i see that uh an agreement
on the same page there let go go go make a trade for a brian thomas junior go you know kick the doors
on a j brown so you like give him something yep you know like figure figure it out i mean he does
need more help they have they have not replaced digs and that to me was just yeah colman
be way better by McDermott's a hard.
But he's not. But he's not. So like, let's just move on. And then the rest of them are all,
you know, for lack of a better way of saying at mini-mees. They're all smaller guys and I like
them. And he's got to, he's got a stud tight end in Kincaid. So you got to find,
they're not that far off on offense in my opinion, but the defense has got to be better.
Maybe you sign out of the off season as a free agent. Maybe you go that. I mean,
there's a lot of, that'd be great. That's kind of, uh, that's intriguing. And that would be
Well, this is what we do.
That's a sexy combo.
Josh out.
That's a sexy.
That arm and that's neat on the outside.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, look, just do something, but I agree.
Defense in the draft here, especially where you're picking later.
All right, next up here, San Francisco at 27.
We're in the home stretch here, Pat.
What do you have?
We've gone 26 picks, Joe, without an Alabama player coming off the board.
So I think it's time.
I like it this way.
It's much, it's nicer, I feel like, after all these years.
So the aforementioned Caden Proctor, 49ers really need to find the successor
to 37-year-old left tackle, Trent Williams.
And Proctor, just an absolute mountain.
He is the mountain from Game of Thrones.
67, 366, unbelievable physical specimen with, you know, obviously great power,
surprising agility and athleticism for such a big dude.
He's a 32-inch vertical jump at 366 pounds.
Alabama gave him five rushing attempts this season.
He started Alabama since he was a true one.
freshman. In the very early mock drafts I was seeing last summer, he was typically going much earlier
this, but he had a really poor game coming out of the gates this year against Florida State,
gave up like six or seven pressures. Alabama lost that game. I think that kind of drove his
draft stock down, even though he played really well the rest of the season. So 49ers just,
they need a competent offensive line to make Kyle Shanahan's offense work. So I think finding a replacement
for Trent Williams has to be the top priority. Boggs is by the easiest pick. Another great pick.
Houston, Texas is a 28.
It's got to be an offensive lineman, period.
Another one where I did not consider anybody else, right?
This is where the offensive lineman are going to start going.
It's a magnil pregnon, the interior offensive lineman from Oregon.
And like I said, I didn't consider anybody else.
They were 23rd and pass block, 19th and run block, fourth lowest yards per carry in the league.
There's also, I don't know if you guys heard this and I don't want to take us off track,
but Joe Mixon maybe shot himself in the foot.
I saw that last week.
Did you see that?
I saw that last week, that little buzz from.
a podcast.
And that's why he hasn't shown up during any of the playoffs.
Because he can't leave the state or something like that because of some sort of
long.
That I heard too because there's rules about like certain places that if you did shoot yourself
accidentally or whatever it is that there's and then you can't travel.
It's crazy stuff.
All I know is taking a real turn.
Yeah.
I know.
At the end of the show.
I saw that last week on it.
It was a podcast.
It was a couple X NFL guys.
I think we were talking about it.
I don't know what show was.
Well, the thing is, all you guys know.
Boggs is this. The fact that we heard
nothing about it, which means it's got to be pretty
bad, whatever happened. Well, it also, he didn't show up
to any of the stuff and he would have had to answer questions.
Nothing about anything about him
all season before what happened.
Why? Nothing.
Yeah, the stars align, but he might just be a weirdo.
Who knows? So,
there's always a possibility.
But Pregnon, six and offensive grade,
eighth and run block grade, 15th and run block grade.
One sack allowed him was the Texas
Tech in their bowl game, so
probably Bailey got him. Again, like he did
everybody else. And that's the first sack he's allowed since his freshman year when he allowed to three
sacks allowed in 3,200 snaps, two penalties over the last two seasons, won a piece in the last two.
So I just think pregnon fits. He's a road greater and can help that run game. You're not shooting
yourself in the foot with pregnon here. Well done. Well done. That was a long way to go for that,
but I appreciate it. All right. Next up, the Rams at 29. Now another vanity pick here, right?
is our second pick selection here.
So Steve, what do they do?
You considered it with the first pick, right?
Ty Simpson from Alabama,
the quarterback's still on the board.
And all the things we've said about them are correct,
fell off the second half of the season.
You know, devil's advocate.
They didn't have a running game.
Their offensive line did not play well.
Caden Proctor,
as talented he is,
is inconsistent.
That's a home run pick for San Francisco still
because of the talent.
But all of that said, you know,
they need a quarterback for the future,
ideally Stafford comes back for another year.
We'll see what happens with the Super Bowl run.
I mean, does he want to go out on top if they win?
That's going to be a whole other thing.
But where we sit today, you hope that Stafford comes back for another year.
Ty Simpson, who didn't get a lot of a starting experience in college, could sit behind him.
When Simpson was playing at his best, it is a very high level.
Do the Rams find the future here?
Do they find their future quarterback this late in the first round?
I will tell you this.
I will not be surprised if they take him at at 13.
I will not be surprised at the Rams take him.
My feelings of Simpson will improve if Sean McVeigh is the guy that's developing him.
This is what I said.
I said when they announced it said wrong decision,
needed to go back.
But if he goes to the Rams,
it's going to make us look bad because he will.
It's the Rams.
It's everything.
They will develop him.
He's got that great receiving cord.
They have the running game to keep like they all.
Like if he lands on the Rams,
it's a home run for him.
It's a home run for them.
Because when he was playing at his best, he was awesome.
There was a time.
I thought Ty Simpson was going to be, should come out and be an early first round pick.
It's just that the wheels came off.
Really, I think, for that whole team in the second half of the season.
It makes so much sense with them having the extra first round peck.
100%.
Right?
Because if you're wrong, it doesn't kill you either.
If you're wrong, you know, you go out the next year, you find a veteran or you go back
into the draft, which is much more bountiful quarterback draft.
It does feel like that pick was just free for them.
I mean, I know that.
Yeah. The whole idea was everybody in Atlanta trying to save their job, right?
So let's trade up.
Let's get some pass rushers here and all that.
But just that free 13th pick makes everything.
It doesn't make everything a luxury pick for them, but it gives them options, a lot of options.
Atlanta did pretty good with those picks, though.
They did great.
I think it was a good move for them.
I was kind of surprised to see them make the change at.
It was the cost of it.
I think that all.
Arthur Blank.
He's getting old.
Yeah.
That's what it is.
He's getting old.
He wants to see them win a Super Bowl before he goes.
So he is, it's going to be quick.
If you're not good immediately, I think, I think things are going to move fast in Atlanta here.
All right.
Pat, you got to choose for Bogman Steelers.
Now I get to pick for my Patriots at 30.
All right, Joe.
I'm giving you an edge rusher, T.J. Parker of Clemson.
Yeah, like, Chason was great last weekend against the Texans, but he's going to be a free agent.
Harold Landry is going to be 30.
There are a bunch of quality edge guys still on the board here.
And I don't know if T.J. Parker is one of the best pure pass rushers.
in this draft, but he is one of the best run defenders among the edge guys in this class.
And he did have 11 and a half sacks and six force fumbles two seasons ago as a sophomore.
I think he and he and Peter Woods both kind of their draft stock has really fallen with the
disappointing season Clemson had, but I think they're both still first round guys.
I do think Parker can be a high floor three down defender for the paths.
All right.
So Denver Broncos at 31 Boggs.
You're going edge for them as well.
Yeah, Ramello High.
edge from Texas Tech.
And I considered, you know, they don't have a lot of needs here.
Singleton is a free agent, so replacing him.
I thought maybe it's a little early for C.J. Allen or Anthony Hill.
But I think Ramella High can come in here.
He can be a third down specialist while he puts on a little bit of weight because he is a little bit thin.
He's also great in coverage.
Fourth of 202 graded defensive edge rushers, six in pass rush grade, first in coverage among edges
and six in hurries as well.
So dude gets after the quarterback.
he protects well on third downs and he can be a third down specialist why he puts on weight for a team that doesn't need a lot,
but let's keep that strength to strength at edge.
All right, Steve, you started us off.
A pick number two.
You get to end at 32.
Who is the last man of the first round for the Seattle Seahawks?
I think Seattle's taking a corner at some point.
I think there are a number of different names that are interesting here, but none more interesting than Chris Johnson from San Diego State,
who I think if he did not play at San Diego State would be a lot higher up people's boards.
four interceptions this year.
I threw on this kid's tape and was absolutely blown away with how instinctive he is.
There are some other corners who I won't go into right now.
I'm not going to badmouth anyone for no reason,
no ricochet shots,
but there's a lot of guys in college right now who are not comfortable with their back to the quarterback.
They do not look comfortable when they have to turn and run and then locate the ball.
Chris Johnson from San Diego State, not one of those guys.
He's got the frame to be an effective press corner right out of the gate.
Four interceptions this year.
the ball really well and then he's
scheme versatile. He doesn't have to just turn and run
really instinctive in zone.
This is one of my favorite players
in the draft. He will be at the
Senior Bowl, really excited to watch him
compete. It would be interesting to see how well he
runs, but
there's a lot, I feel like he's a fringe first round
guide to a lot to a lot. I think he should
be a lot to go on the first. Is that our only G5
player? I think so.
Yeah, I mean, talk about the transfer
portal. You know?
This is, yeah.
Listen, it's a
consolidation of power.
It is what it is.
Like that's now, there's a safety from Toledo that I think that people think could sneak
into the first round too.
So there's a couple other guys out there, but this is what it is.
Different times.
By the way, can we go back to the TJ Parker really quickly was a top 10 guy coming into the
year?
I think he's going to be one of those dudes that's going to really take advantage of the
pre-draft process.
Another senior bowl guy.
He's going to get down there.
It's going to be a talented group of edge rushers.
He's a guy that wins with power.
like we talked about earlier, he's a guy that could start to climb.
I wouldn't be surprised a lot of people have him out of the first round right now.
I wouldn't be surprised he snuck back in.
Yeah, he and Peter Woods were...
Yeah, let's have to sneak back in for my Patriots.
I like exactly what we have.
He and Woods, he and Woods were both pretty much consensus,
top 10 guys in like the summer mock drafts,
the early ones before the 2025 season.
Yeah.
Yeah, Woods, you mean, there was, you know, Woods, Parker, and Caden Proctor,
the Alabama tackle.
So two Clemsonsons guys and the Alabama guy just didn't have the seasons that you
really wanted them to have, but we've seen that before.
I've heard that from GMs all the time.
Go back and watch the year before.
You just gave an example.
It's Stingley.
Yes.
There's still that player.
There's still like guys have bad years.
Like things don't go well.
You think about what happened with the Clemson season.
There was so much turmoil around the Alabama program all year.
Like there's other mitigating factors that could cause a guy not to play up to his level.
Great stuff, boys.
This was a terrific show.
first shot out of the gate too.
We've set the bar very high for all the other mock draft shows.
We're going to be doing ad nauseum for the next two and a half months.
I can tell you that much.
Steve,
you brought so much to the show,
as we knew you always would.
Make sure if you haven't or any and you don't watch the Top Mix Day show with Todd
and Steve,
it's fantastic.
The three of us watch it religiously.
We're big fans.
We're very excited to get Steve on here with us.
And hopefully he comes back again as maybe the picture starts to look a little better.
And when you're down at Senior Bowl,
make sure that you send our colleague, Derek Brown,
Dibro, we want you to meet him.
and we want you to send him through some drills
and make sure you have a month of 40
and see how he does with some of those stuff there.
Also, we keep the conversation going.
Yeah, please.
Oh, I want to pay money to see that one.
Also, our Discord, fancypros.com slash chat.
It's free.
It's fun.
The conversation for NFL draft
and all things, Dynasties going on there.
Plus, Worm and Fitz,
five Eastern every first Tuesday,
and Bogman and Fitz are taking your questions
every third Tuesday, 5 p.m. Eastern on there, too,
for some AMAs.
And, of course, I'm taking the weekend off.
because the games are on Sunday.
So Boggman and I were doing the Sunday,
the Saturday shows over on betting pros,
Sunday championship game.
First one, 245 Eastern, Scott Bogman and Seth Wilcock.
We'll be live on betting pros walking you for it.
We got to watch that too.
I can't.
I'm still coaching football anyway.
I'm coaching.
I got flag.
We got the girls clinic before.
Plus, we've got flag games.
We're in first place again.
We're undefeated.
You got to, you know, my daughter's slinging touchdowns all over to place.
Fitsy's been seeing him.
I've been sending them to him all the time.
I said a debaubman too.
But, you know, that's the next recruit.
I want to see where she goes in a couple years now that NCAA looks like they got girls flag.
So things are going well.
Maybe scholarship.
Please, for the love of God, let's go.
Gentlemen, great stuff, as always.
Again, this is the beginning of the process, but certainly not the end.

We're going to have a ton of NFL draft coverage every single season.
And we'll be live again this year for the NFL draft.
So that'll do for us, but the story of the game goes on for Pat and Scott and Steve.
I'm Joey P.
We'll see you next time, kids.

Hey guys, it's us
The Jonas Brothers, I'm Joe
I'm Kevin
And I'm Nick
And guess what?
We created our own podcast
Called Hey Jonas
We invented a podcast
Well we didn't invent it
We just contributed to it
We're the first people to do podcasts
We get to ask other people questions
Because we're sick and tired
To be in and ask questions
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it
But you know
Tired and sick
Tired and sick

Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

Hey, it's Edwin Castro, also known as Castro 1021.
And I'm Kunky, his best friend, and business manager.
And we've got a new show called The 1021 podcast.
I'm taking you behind the scenes on how I became one of Twitch's most popular streamers.
We also love sports.
And with the World Cup right around the corner,
we'll be breaking down the biggest storylines ahead of the big tournament here in the USA.
