Hey guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
And guess what?
We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
But, you know, tired and sick.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you.
you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel
and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you
funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel, help an
a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some
retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and
friends on the ice.

Every family has its secrets.
But what happens when you discover that your dad has been living a double life?
That is not the look of an innocent man.
Is everyone lying to me about who they are?
I felt such desperation.
I felt it was what I had to do.

Here's something that should not be as complicated as it is,
getting a racist statue removed.
And here's something that should be a whole lot easier than it is,
getting a new one put up in its place.
I'm Akela Hughes, and Rebel Spirit Season 2 is about both of those things.
As I was watching these statues come down,
I was thinking about what it meant that I grew up in a majority black city
in which there were more homages to enslavers than there were to enslave people.

Oh, man, everyone feeling a little tired today, a little hungover,
feeling like asterisks.
Yeah, but not nice-ass-treaks.
Like deflated flapjack-ass-tricks.
Oh, not like Bianca Sensory's tricks?
Yeah, not like her tricks.
Like, that lady I saw online at CVS, those sad, miserable-ass treats.
Anyway, hope you had a nice weekend.
And Eagles sort of weekend.
Congratulations to the Philadelphia Eagles.
They clobbered the Chiefs yesterday.
And that's what made it so, well, not overwhelming, not underwhelming, just
It's just made it such a
welcoming game. We're going to give you all our observations

And Rockets own the dream
ad with Take Me Home Country's Road
was one of the
most remembered commercials yesterday.
That sing-along was really powerful.
Brings back the American.
Yeah. Take me home.
John Denver wasn't full of S.
Man.
Everybody should live that American dream to own a home
because Rockets reminding us that we all deserve a shot
at the American dream.
And it's kind of a big deal.
So we'll talk about that and more.
All right. Hey, let's get into this.
our observations from Super Bowl weekend.
There was a lot.
And you said the word whelming,
not underwhelming, not overwhelming, just whelming.
Is that a word?
I think it might be.
Should be.
It should be.
Yeah.
I was wellmed at best at everything.
From start to finish,
it was a mediocre, boring night,
especially when you invest so much in the football season.
Every week we come here,
speculating you're so fired up about every match.
up and it comes down to a wet fart that we got last night.
And that's how I felt about it.
A wet fart?
Yeah, because the chiefs were never in it.
Unless you're an Eagles fan, unless you're an Eagles fan or a Chief's hater,
there was nothing to be really excited about.
And then I was excited about halftime.
And even that was, well, there's two extremes here.
Don't do it.
No, no, no.
I didn't hate it.
There's people I hate it.
I think they're equally as wrong as people say, and they love them.
You know, I get it.
I understand.
We all grew up with hip hop.
So to act like, you didn't get it.
No, we get it.
Okay.
And I know his popularity.
We're not old by any means.
I understand.
Even that was whelming to me because it's a Super Bowl performance.
I wanted excitement.
Maybe my expectations were off, but still whelming.
And then the celebrations were equally as wellming.
I didn't see anyone that thrilled to win the Super Bowl.
But I think your whole day was welcoming just for the...
It doesn't matter.
You got to put this in perspective.
No, it doesn't.
Kavino is a little under the weather after a week of Super Bowl.
fun in New Orleans. That means my perspective was
more accurate than yours because you're hobnobbing
with people having a fun time. Incorrect.
There was nothing fun about the game.
Incorrect. You sat at home by yourself.
No, I was there with Theo, my dog.
And he's my dog.
And that means I was counting
on the game to be entertaining. Because again,
invested an entire year watching
for that. That's why I'm like,
oh man, boom,
I was waiting to be entertained.
I wasn't like hoping his son.
I was waiting to be entertained.
There was not a time.
There was not a moment in that game.
Where you felt it was a game.
That sounds ridiculous.
But Philadelphia, total ball control.
That's what she said.
In the first half, there was a point where it's like they had the gameplay.
We talked about.
Danny, I'll give you credit.
All along you're like, keep the ball out of my home's hand.
There was a time where it was like, is Philadelphia the only one on offense?
The first three possessions by the chiefs were three.
and three and out, four plays and three and out.
I'm here. Patrick Mahomes here.
Exclusive on the Kavino and Rich Show.
I just want to say I'm sorry for one of the most embarrassing performances by
any QB and, you know, it just wasn't our night.
And any goat conversation between me and Brady, probably on pause for now.
Pump the brakes on that, right?
Yeah, pumped the brakes, but we'll be back.
Have you guys, this was the entertaining part to me,
late last night and starting this morning with the TV,
sports shows. Have you ever seen the media turn on a player so quick as they turned on Patrick
Mahomes? That's what I find eye rolling and funny. It's his fault though. About the world we live in
sports media, I guess. You know, it's a fickle world. That's why I disassociate myself.
He wins that game by far the greatest dude on the history of, in the history of sports. He loses.
Let's pump the brakes. Go. You know, that never happened to Brady or Montana or anyone like
So, well, that's because if you live in the world of hot takes, you have to, you know, put it in reverse immediately.
And we don't live in that world.
We live in a sports world, but that's not our angle and never was, never will be.
My question is, if the narrative for the past, like, year or so has been that the refs are responsible for him winning,
shouldn't we just credit the refs for him losing then?
Yeah, the Eagles were dominant, man.
Eagles were dominant.
Eagles got all the calls.
Yeah, they were dominant last night.
The Chiefs never had a shot.
You know, they played large.
And if you want to look at the positives, here are the two positives that I took away.
As far as the game, the story, the storyline.
The fact that they lost came back and the story of revenge and perseverance is incredible.
I think that's for the history books.
Yo, man, Jalen Hertz lost the Super Bowl, came back and clobbered the team that beat him.
That is like a story of motivation.
Pumbled.
And that I love.
And as far as the Super Bowl halftime show, I think the takeaway here is they went artsy and took a chance.
You know, maybe creative and artsy isn't what the Super Bowl needs, but they went for something different.
Anyone under 40 loved it.
Anyone over 40 really didn't.
And it's generational and that's okay.
I like the fact that they took a chance on it.
Not everything has to be dancing sharks because that's equally as eye-roly.
You know what I mean?
Like, I don't need dancing sharks either.
But at the same time, I don't know how deep I want to get for my halftime show.
Maybe you just left shark.
Under 40, first of all.
And second, I was, I was whelmed by Kendrick Lamar, who I like.
I like, I have literally his songs on my phone right now.
Yeah.
It just, I don't think, translates to the stage of the Super Bowl.
As I heard someone say, it's a good way to put it.
It's a good way to put it.
As I heard someone say, Moncie, you know, Kendrick Lamar, that would have been a hell of a, you know,
Grammy night performance.
Yeah.
But the Super Bowl halftime show
warrants a spectacle.
Yes.
Or like a hit
where everyone jumps up
and you're just so excited.
There was no surprises.
We knew Sizzah was going to be there.
What was the surprise?
The casual music fan.
Serena Williams.
Serena Williams.
Serena C. Walking on her ex.
Samuel L. Jackson.
You don't get it, man.
That's Drake's ex-girlfriend.
It took me two seconds to connect the dots.
I'm like, oh, wait a minute, is that Serena Williams?
Wait a bit.
Drake.
Oh, but listen.
The Super Bowl halftime show, we've been saying it for a year.
It's clearly they're going after a younger demo, which, listen, they already got, hey, they already got, you know, you if you're older.
If you're like our parents' generation, they got you or you're going to be, you know, eventually dead in the next 20 years.
They don't need you.
They need the younger demo.
Kendrick Kamal is a fine choice, but if you were looking like Monce said for that, everyone jump out of their chair moment.
You know, they're not like us as a monster hit.
Yeah.
But other than that, if you were a casual.
old music listener, you might not have known any other song.
Any other song.
That's the truth because he doesn't cross over to mainstream like the Kiss FM in your
hometown and the Z100 and the Y100.
You could look at that as a positive.
Like not everything needs to be that way.
And they took a chance.
I'm not sure if it worked.
But again, much like everything in the United States, is kind of split down the middle.
It depends who you ask.
If you put like a huge country artist up there.
who has wide mainstream success,
I probably wouldn't know most of the songs.
Yeah.
Because I don't follow.
I probably say the same thing.
Like,
I hate this root and tooting stuff.
You're never going to make everyone 100% happy.
That's a great point.
Just put up a good product.
And I thought it was,
I enjoyed as a visual and musical performance, I enjoyed it.
Oh, I thought it was really interesting.
I actually, I wanted more.
I thought it was.
Okay, this is interesting.
I like where it's going.
I like Samuel L. Jackson's Uncle Sam,
trying to dictate where the story lines.
and went and Kendrick Lamar is still doing his own thing, the symbolism I get all that.
Very cool, but it wasn't that exciting, which was the mood of the entire night.
So maybe it's very fitting for an overwhelming game, as we said.
How about this? How about let's not take Kavino's word for it sitting by himself with his dog.
Let's not take my word for anything.
Wait, having a party at my house.
Let's go to a guy that's in.
Rebell of Warburton.
Should we take his word for it?
Let's go to a guy that's still in New Orleans.
Hold on.
Hold on.
Dan Byer.
Hold on.
What up, Dan?
That's my drop.
That was not one starting to say.
Live from New Orleans, it's our very own Dan Byer.
He was there.
I saw all of his coverage on social media, some great picks.
Has it going, man.
And how was it from your perspective?
By the way, is all the green confetti out of your hair?
I did not get hit with green confetti,
but there may be some making its way back with me.
Oh, a zip-lock bag.
Yeah, who knows?
The Super Bowl half-to-year.
time show did not translate to the crowd
that was in attendance.
It did not work in that fashion.
So it does make you wonder though.
It's like, you know, do you cater to the consumer?
But at the same time, and I say this all the time,
I actually learn this in marketing class.
Marketing 101 tells you that, you know,
Coca-Cola is not advertising to you.
Everybody knows what Coca-Cola is.
We know what it is.
They're advertising to younger people.
That's the NFL's way of gaining a younger audience.
They're bringing Kendrick Lamar in here.
even though he's not that young.
He's been doing it since the only 2000.
He's in his late 30s.
Right, but again, it's not for you.
We need to understand that.
But it's interesting to hear that the vibe in your living room,
or at least in 50% of the living rooms,
was the same as the vibe in the stadium.
Not that exciting.
Well, remember, guys, when the NFL,
they struck a deal with Rock Nation years back.
And that changed the Super Bowl halftime show
where now we've had artists based either in hip-hop or R&D,
ever since really that agreement was made.
So you had the weekend Super Bowl 55.
I think he's crossed over to be, you know, mainstream.
We had the great Dr. Dre Snoop Dog Shell that I think everybody loved in L.A.
And then you had Rihanna, Usher, and now Kendrick Lamar.
And so I think that at some point you do need songs.
That was the tough part of last night is, I don't know if Monzi said it or who said it,
but there's only one, maybe two songs you know of.
Kendrick Lamar, maybe Rich, you said it.
So nobody's singing along.
And that was a point that I've made to many people last night and today is that they played Mr. Brightside by the killers in the fourth quarter.
And all of the Eagles fans were singing it.
Right.
And they played Sweet Caroline.
And, you know, we know what happens when Sweet Caroline's played at a sporting event.
Everybody's singing it.
Nobody was really into it last night.
However, it wasn't the worst that I.
I have seen. A minor. It gave me a little, they gave me some chills, man, because.
Yeah, but that was the only point. I know, but still, everybody. That was what, the death of
Drake's career as the, as the stories go. But yeah, that was kind of cool, but interesting
to hear your perspective, Dan, I thought maybe more excitement at the stadium. I don't think
P, most, your dad didn't get that reference. My point is, next year, San Francisco, they clearly,
clearly aren't caring about your dad. And I think what Dan is saying here is that with Rock Nation,
we're not going to get Metallica next year either.
Rock they're from the Bay Area.
Rock Nation is going to give you a younger, more rhythmic, hip-hop,
leaning, urban-leaning radio-like audience.
That's the truth, right?
So if you look at it at the last five shows, now, San Francisco,
you might say, well, isn't Metallica from the Bay Area?
Yep.
Is that the year they do go, does Rock Nation go rock?
Do they maybe say, is like a post-Malone, Miley Cyrus,
maybe go back a little more mainstream?
Like, where do they go?
No, where do they go from here?
They do a mix of all that.
What says you, D.B.
That was the tough part about last night.
As you mentioned, the special guests,
we knew Sizzle was going to be performing with him.
There was nobody that came out that did a song or did a verse or did anything with him.
The special guests were, as you said,
Serena dancing and Samuel Jackson speaking.
Yeah.
And there is something out.
Like, we've talked about it on this show.
Like, ladies and gentlemen.
blah, blah, blah.
You're like, oh, my gosh.
Like, that's the coolest thing.
I thought it was a big surprise that they fit 150 people in one little car.
That was a big surprise.
Yeah, and as a half Mexican guy, I find that to be cultural appropriation.
Wasn't even a Tacoma.
I know.
So, you know, I took a little offense to that.
I'm like, yeah, he's making fun of Mexicans, I think.
Joking, joking, joking.
Remember Super Bowl 50?
Remember Super Bowl 50?
They had cold play, and then they brought out Beyonce, and I think they also brought up Bruno
Mars.
So you had cold play who you thought could carry the whole.
whole show and they're like, you know what, let's add
Beyonce to this. And let's also
throw in Bruno Mars, who by the way were the
performers in previous
Super Bowl's not too far from that.
In 47, Beyonce did it in 48
it was Bruno Mars. So like, you even
have that level of it. Like, there is something
neat of where all the stars get together.
Heck, the biggest Super Bowl
controversy ever came with Justin
Timberlake and Janet Jackson, right?
Like, there's a crossover.
Yeah, what happened? Anybody got
video, by the way, just to refresh our
or what happened?
Yeah.
I think that pops.
That stuff does pop.
I'm convinced.
I'm still convinced to this day of my lifetime.
Other than like the big ones like Prince,
obviously, Michael Jackson, which was huge.
The 2001 Super Bowl show was one of the greatest.
And because it touched all generations.
You had Arrow Smith, which was a legendary band,
everyone knew.
You had InSink, which was for like younger people coming off of the late 90s,
early 2000s.
You had Britney Spears, who everyone loved.
Then you had Mary J.
Lige come out for a little bit of the older school hip hop.
Then you had Nelly come out, who was contemporary hip hop.
So I feel like a show like that that touches every little generation has something for
everybody is something that we need.
Just like I thought that the show with like Dre, Snoop, M&M, all that, even though it was
more hip-hop skewed, it touched every generation.
NFL, that's what we need.
NFL's not hurting.
They can do whatever they want.
Stick with what you said, though, Spott.
You're never going to please everybody because sometimes when you do all that, if you get
Metallica.
and Chris Brown, it feels forced sometimes.
You know what I mean?
Like, that sounds dumb to me.
You know, so, you know, the NFL took a chance.
I'm okay with it.
The whole night, like I said, it matched a vibe of the entire night when you think about it.
Everything was just okay.
And when you saw the reaction of the Eagles actually winning, the most excitement we had to do our research.
Because I was like, Chalynne Hertz, I get it.
He's a very poised, level-headed dude.
But you do want to see him hoist and trophy.
Like, we won, yeah!
You want to see excitement.
You watched an entire season to see a somber celebration.
I'm still processing.
I'm still processing.
A little lethargic.
You know what?
We had to do our research, Sam, and we looked up the Disney World commercial.
You know, Jalen Hertz, you just won the Super Bowl.
And he does the, I'm going to Disney World.
And that was the most excitement I saw.
And it was emotional.
And I love that.
I just, I wish we had more of that.
But again, it goes back to what Spot said.
We're never going to be fully satisfied or fully pleased.
you know, overall it was a, it was an eh sort of night.
I don't like poised people.
Yeah, I wanted excitement, but.
I'm not a fan of the poised.
I like excitement.
I like emotions.
In fact, the fans were excited.
Jaylen Hertz made me roll my eyes like, this guy looks like he just, you know, won a 50, 50 lottery to schools at his kid's school.
He won the Super Bowl.
The game was such a pummeling, though.
That's why I don't.
Because it wasn't, it wasn't like a last second decision.
It was like, this game was in the books by pretty much half time.
Let's be honest.
quarter. And so by the time the game was over, it was like, yeah, we won. We kicked their butt.
When it's 34 to nothing, I mean, you know you're going to win the entire second half.
In fact, DB, I was going to ask you, at home watching, it felt like after the Cooper
DeShan interception, the game was pretty much over. Did it feel that way there in the stadium?
Well, Danny, you must be on X. That's exactly what I tweeted. I go, I think this is over at that
point because it was, Kansas City had done nothing. And they did not, you know,
mentioned earlier the early part of this game. Kansas City didn't even try to run. The Eagles had
18 rushing attempts compared to Kansas City's one. So even when Kansas City did have the ball in the
limited fashion, when they weren't down by the 34, they were only down by 10 or less in certain parts,
they chose to throw the ball. And I think that that was a big, big problem. Not that they were
going to win the game and run over Philadelphia, but Patrick Mahomes is not going to beat the Eagles by
himself. And I think the Chief's game plan forced him to try to do that. We saw how it turned out.
When Kansas City couldn't put anything together at the end of the first half,
and you're like, I'm able to put some points on the board. You're like, all right, it's 24-0.
You still thought they'd make an adjustment.
You thought 24-0. Everyone in my house who was watching was saying, all right, Casey gets the
ball. All right, they'll drive and they'll get the two-point conversion. And then it'll be 24-8,
a two-score game. And when Kansas City came out in the third,
and it was a quick three and out.
I'm like, yo, this is not, like,
we're not even going to get an ounce of excitement.
This is like the most boring.
Again, at no point where you like, this is a game.
Like, where were those magical Mahomes drives that we're used to?
It happened when Nixiriani was getting gatorade on him.
That's right.
He did it.
By the way, his gatorade bath came before the two-minute morning.
And that's when the Xavier Worthy touchdown, I think, happened.
Well, once you put out Kenny Pickett and he had no problem with that.
And by the, you know, what's interesting is three minutes left.
You know, it was, it was, the game was over.
They could have poured Gatorade on Siriani with three minutes left in the first half.
I'll tell you, I'll tell you this.
I like that.
Patrick Mahomes being in the game, there was a play where he almost had his arm taken off like
Brock Purdy did against the Eagles in the NFC championship game.
It's about with nine minutes to go, he fumbled and Philadelphia recovered.
I had no idea why Mahomes was still in the game, guys.
And then I realized, oh, there's Super Bowl records to break.
Travis Kelsey broke Jerry Rice's all-time record for most receptions in Super Bowes.
You got to buy two now, right?
DB, it's so funny you would say that.
I said that to our buddy Bo, who's in the editing room today in Moncee, before we went on the air,
I said, the bummer for me is that because there was so much garbage, essentially yardage in time at the end,
Mahomes and a couple people patted their postseason stats and the stories being not, like, historically,
it'll be like, well, Mahomes did throw for, you know, two or three hundred yards.
Yeah, you look back on it.
Yeah, you look back to score.
too unfortunately that's what they'll see yeah i you know what one person i did change my mind on
because jalen hertz was so boring i really and you know it wasn't by the way i don't think it was
just him i thought everybody and it could have been you know because they clobbered them but it could
have been a sense of relief too you know but everything i think everybody's reaction was sort of like
not excited i i really changed my mind and we're allowed to do this guys this is not a you know
you don't have to be a stubborn ass where you make your opinion
and that's it forever.
I sort of saw a different side of Nick Siriani with his kids last night
and him crying postgame.
And he went from guy I grew up with,
I didn't personally grow up with him,
but growing up on the East Coast, New York, New Jersey,
he just feels like, I don't know, like a guy you want to, like, slap in the face.
Like, he's got that look, like a...
He used to be number one on your most punchable face list.
It's called a hate-to-face.
Does it count when it's coming from a guy with a punchable face,
like Rich Davis?
Shut up. I'm just wondering.
But no, like Nick Sierra Annie.
When they win, he's got this arrogant look, very jersey, oh, very Philly.
So what I didn't like about Nick Siriani had nothing to do with who the man he is.
I just didn't like his vibe.
Seeing him with his kids.
He's just called being superficial.
Holding his son.
He saw a human side of him.
And seeing his other kid there and him showing some tears.
Like, you know what?
I'm the jerk for, you know, I like the way he had to say about this team loves each other.
He said that multiple times throughout the night that they're what team is all about
and how they didn't want to let each other down.
And I think we proved the question of the week.
There was greater motivation from trying to get vengeance in this Super Bowl than trying to three-peat
because it looked like they had winners fatigue.
It looked like the chiefs were never really in it.
They didn't know how to really make any adjustments.
They didn't seem pumped about anything.
Their body language was super weak.
So again, I think that the greater motivator was the fact that the Eagles had been there and lost to them,
and they weren't going to let that happen again.
And I think although we've painted a really boring picture, the great takeaway here is perseverance and the comeback story of the Eagles.
And I think that's inspiring.
Dan Byer, who's on site before you go, man, any other observations you want to leave us with?
I think your Siriani, Take Rich, is very on point.
There were a lot of people that came up to him after the game.
And I'm curious to see if he'll be more grounded in his ways moving forward now that he is a Super Bowl champion because there's responsibility that goes with that.
I am also just curious on the Jalen Hurst Jalen Hurts love fest and how far it takes him in Philadelphia before we go back to the usual Philadelphia ways.
We have until the opening week of week one.
And then we'll then we'll see if it starts to change it all.
It is funny, Dan, because the Nick Siriani narrative for me,
and I'm sure a lot of people went from like,
yeah, this guy too, oh, look at him crying, he's got his kids and, you know.
But the Jalen Hertz being very ho-hum about winning.
You know what it reminds you?
Remember when Paul Skeens won?
Rookie of the year.
Oh, yeah.
And Livy Duns all excited, and he just stand there like a dud.
It's like, I can't vibe with those type of people because I'm a very excitable person.
So I'm like, if you win the Cy Young, if you win the Super Bowl,
if you win something, show me something.
You know, it's that age old question of, you know, act like you've been there before.
Look, they never won, though.
So be excited about it.
You're allowed to be excited.
But then again, that's kind of what makes him a great quarterback.
He's a poised, calm, cool, and collected kind of guy.
But I thought the whole team was, again, maybe relief, Rich.
Who knows?
Dan Byer, thanks for your insight, man.
Have a safe trip back.
Dan Byer live from New Orleans.
We had a great time with him out there and a great week in New Orleans.
If you missed any of our shows, catch the podcasts.
get all that confetti out of your crevices before you get home.
Yeah.
I'll be finding that everywhere.
All right. Hey, now last night when you watched the Super Bowl.
Yeah, you watch the game, obviously, but you also watch for all the ads.
And some of them were fun and some were really heart-tugging because they hit right here.
And that rocket mortgage one was really great.
Take Me Home, Country Road.
Take me home.
The sing-along.
But again, it just reminds you of the, or what should be the American dream.
And they're bringing that back.
You know, as a homeowner myself, you know, it's a good feeling to know that the American dream still lives.
And that's what they're trying to bring back.
You know, you want to feel like you own something.
This is yours.
You want to take a pride in that.
For you and your family.
That was the heart-tugging commercial of the night.
Yeah.
Shetting a tear with all these people.
Yeah.
You know what, Rich?
I was glad I was alone in my home.
Just because I didn't want anyone to see me crying.
And then they cut back to the stadium.
and everyone's singing along to
take me home, Country Road.
You guys, I rent.
I was really crying.
No, but that's the thing, right?
Like, they want to bring back that dream
and make it a reality again.
Because when you think of the American dream,
you think of that.
That's one of the first things you think of,
to own my own home.
And Rocket making that possible.
So, hey, just a reminder of hell
last night of all those commercials,
Rocket really hit you right there
in the heart with Take Me Home,
Country Road. Hey, it's us the Jonas Brothers. And guess what? We have some big news. What's the news?
Huge news. We created our own podcast called Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast. Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there. But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it. And we were thinking I'm originally calling.
it one of the early
names of our band
before Jonas Brothers
was...
This is how you guys remember
it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different
memory of this.
We were talking about a thing,
a bit for the podcast
where people could call in
and say, hey Jonas.
And then I wrote down
on my little notepad,
Hey Jonas,
and offered it up
as a potential title
for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering
that, guys.

It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all,
embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

And we're still chasing it.
And we don't know when we've done enough.
Because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross,
because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth?
Are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely.
And that's two different levels of trust.
I want you to just really be a good person.

That's where Sports Slice comes in.
I'm Timbo.

The laughs, the drama, the triumphs,
the moments that never make the highlight real.
From viral moments to historic games,

So do we have the post-Super Bowl blues,
post-N-F-L-Bloos?
Are we shifting our focus to the NBA?
Are you ready for baseball?
I don't know.
Kavino and Rich Live from the tire act.com studio.
Rockets own the dream ad with Taking Me Home Country Road
was what we'll remember from the game
because Rocket is reminding us
we all deserve a shot at the American Dream of owning a home.
And that's kind of a big deal.
No doubt Rocket delivered with that ad last night.
Now before we chop it up and get everybody involved
with things to make you go, hmm,
Super Bowl edition, Rich.
Were you
kind of surprised?
I noticed this is going to sound dumb.
Like, hey, that Samuel L. Jackson guy
was really great. I get it.
He's one of the greatest actors of all time.
The highest grossing actor, right? He's in the
most movies that made the most money.
But with the pressures
of Super Bowl live like that,
you're not impressed. Like, here's my mindset.
No, not a little bit. When John Hamm
did the introduction and when Bradley
Cooper did the introduction, you don't think those are
really, I know they're famous and they live under the
spotlight, but we're talking Super Bowl
with 100 million people watching. You think
you'd be able to deliver in that pressure? No doubt.
No doubt? Your heart
wouldn't be beaten a little faster? You're just
the coolest guy. You don't think it's a
nerve-wracking situation? Maybe guys like me
have that regular harpy like a Jeter
or a Montana and you're a nervous ninny.
I'm sure. Nini. The most
hyped up guy I've ever met in my life
who can't sit still. I don't, to me,
have been so cool in that situation.
Those things don't affect me.
They affect you.
I've worked with you a long time.
You're always shocked by this and it baffles me because these,
anything could happen in those moments.
Kendra Kalmar was more nervous last night than any other concert?
John Hamm, yes, because 100 million people are watching.
It's a high pressure situation.
It comes with a lot of criticism.
He knows that going in there.
But you think John Hamm does that and then expects everyone to be like,
dude, your voice cracked, you suck.
Like, it's a high pressure situation to do those things live.
under those bright lights.
The Super Bowl is not like anything else.
It's not the Grammys. It's not the Oscars.
Super Bowl is an international spectacle.
So for Samuel L. Jackson to be that great, I was impressed, but foolish for me, whatever.
I just think it's super cool when people deliver under that immense amount of pressure.
Look, these athletes, they've been playing to get there all season.
These performances, it's just a little difference.
It's a one and done situation.
Like you don't get a recut or a redo.
Yeah, but you know, it is impressive to me.
I thought Lady Gaga was equally impressive in the beginning.
Like, she sounded flawless.
I don't know.
I always think of something.
And she jumped off the top of the stadium.
Snoop Dogg once told me this.
Personally?
Yeah.
Oh.
We talked about you get nervous for certain moments.
Is Martha there?
And he said, I don't get nervous for stuff I'm good at.
I get nervous for stuff I'm not good at.
Like, I would be, if you talk.
me, Rich, go make an announcement in front of a stadium.
Yeah, of course, there's going to be a little nervous,
but that's what I know how to do.
If you told me, can you go in the middle of the arena or stadium and start dancing,
freestyle?
Then I'd be nervous.
You're undermining how the slightest thing could have messed up.
Like, just the fumble of a word could have messed up Samuel L. Jackson,
but he was perfect.
You know what I mean?
You know who recently really showed how talented and calm they are?
We said this.
Carrie Underwood.
Remember when she had to perform at the inauguration?
which the entire country was watching.
That was great.
Something about the sound or the music wasn't going on.
She had to go a cappella.
I'm just going to sing this acapella, the Capitol Rotunda, and she nailed it.
And she didn't freak out until after she was behind closed doors.
Exactly.
I get it.
But in the moment, you deliver in the moment.
That's what they do.
But, you know, I was still impressed.
You know who we talked to at the Super Bowl, who we were impressed with this same thing,
Andrew Whitworth.
I thought you were going to say seal.
Him too.
But Whitworth, remember, not only was he speaking.
in front of the entire stadium when the Cardinals hosted the Rams playoff game.
But he knew he was going to be on camera in front of millions of people.
And he did express how nervous he was.
But Rich Davis, not him.
No, you just proved my point.
Dunts?
No, what do you mean?
You wear a dunce hat like Chappel Rhone.
That's a good one.
He said that he was nervous on our show.
That doesn't mean you don't step up and deliver because you're nervous.
No, no.
Andrew Whitworth said he was more nervous than when he played because you know what?
Andrew Whitworth knows how to do, play football.
He's not a public speaker.
This is, you know, he's a rookie essentially in the broadcasting game.
So I would assume a guy like he would get more nervous making an announcement.
Fish out of water.
At a stadium.
Fish out of water.
You think-fish out of water.
And I've seen Samuel Jackson perform at a million half-time shows.
We all have.
So anyway, my bad for being impressed.
Kavino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio, are you ready to do a little thing?
that made you go,
Hmm,
Super Bowl edition.
Things that make you go.
Hmm.
Things that make you go.
Hmm.
You know,
there was a hit on Mahomes
that I didn't love
because I don't want to see anyone
get hurt.
And since he didn't get hurt,
I loved it.
There was a play where he got
mushed by the face mask.
Like,
it was,
when it happened live,
I was like,
did he just get killed?
We have actual sound audio
from that clip.
Yo.
Thank you, Sam.
The defender on the Eagles
mushed him by the face and threw him back.
It was like insult to injury and probably the worst day of Mahomes professional career.
Did you feel bad for him?
Not even a little bit.
No, I mean, you don't want to get to the Super Bowl and stink.
Like, it was embarrassing.
At my party, we were rooting for the shutout come third quarter because it's like,
this game stinks.
What can we root for?
Maybe let's root for the Chiefs, a dynasty,
having the worst game in Super Bowl history.
and then very quickly it's got a touchdown.
We're like, oh, that's over.
But I didn't feel bad for them at all.
In fact, you know, it's refreshing.
I did, however, think that the NFL needs to step on it
with this whole 18 game schedule.
We've talked about when the NFL adds 18 games,
they're talking about adding a second buy week.
And when it's all lined up,
the Super Bowl will eventually be the Sunday before President's Day.
And listen, we're here working
because we work in sports media,
so we're going to be here regardless.
But everyone else that had to go to work today,
think about how we're just one week away
from just having that Monday be a holiday
for everyone else.
Yeah, today needs to be a national holiday.
Agreed.
There's not many things that we could claim as American
that deserve this type of holiday.
I really do think that this is so ingrained
as part of our culture,
part of the fabric of who we are,
all walks of life in America,
all cultures, we all unified.
on this one day we celebrate.
It should be the day of rest.
The day after Super Bowl.
What makes more, you're recovering day?
Or what makes more sense to you?
Make it Monday off or Super Bowl Saturday?
No.
Monday off.
You got to change something after 60 years?
Honestly, Monday off because everyone's getting together.
You want to create a day off after the Super Bowl.
That's changing something.
No.
Monday off.
That's a, you know, BS example.
Yeah, sure.
Well, you know, it's fine.
Thanks for being the contrarian that I want to slim your head against the table.
Like my home?
Yesterday we were at the, yeah, I want to mush you like my homes.
A lot of hostility between you guys too.
We were saying it yesterday.
We were hanging around my kitchen, half paying attention to the game because it was like 40-0.
And we said, of all the things people fight about politics, the halftime show, everything, there's not one person that would be like, that's a bad idea.
Who doesn't think it's a great idea if you made the Super Bowl Sunday followed by President's Day Monday?
There's not one human that would be like, that's a bad idea, except Spot apparently.
Bill Belichick would say no days off and we say you're the only one saying that you could you could move up president's hey because president's say is just an observation it's not like occasionally it falls on Lincoln's birthday you know it may me say hmm speaking of Bill Belichick Sam the fact that he had the huevos to incorporate his girlfriend in a national ad for Super Bowl to me that shows huge investment in this woman some people won't even post their girlfriend on social media this guy brought
brought her onto a national ad for the world to see.
So to me that says a lot.
I'm like, dang.
She looks hot.
She must have him wrapped.
Every time I see them, I'm like,
I hope he'd parade her around.
I was going to say,
yeah, but you don't take that risk, man.
Like, let me say it.
As a guy who's been through several failed relationships, Sam,
there's nothing more embarrassing than, like,
vouching for somebody.
And then, like, having to explain everybody, like,
yeah, I guess it didn't work.
That's why whenever you invite a new girlfriend to a wedding or, like,
a family event. Always make sure they're on the end.
So when you need to crop the photo, it's easier.
So this guy's bringing her on a Super Bowl
ads? That's like a high
validation. And I'm sure they got paid, but it made me say,
hmm. All right. Well, let's go to Monce
someone that's never on the end of a photo.
Never. Right in the center. Who would do that
to her? I mean, I am the small one,
so I tend to be in the middle, right? Yeah.
And just for the picture. You can just
crop the bottom half of the photo instead of a sign.
Do you hold a sign on every team photo because you're so little?
Yeah. Exactly. Oh, you know like Mrs.
Tompkins, Fifth grade class.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
You know what I mean?
It just makes it look proportioned, you guys.
It's just what it is.
Yeah.
Exactly.
And when you're talking about Carrie Underwood, the clip is she just looks at the camera.
She's like, I'll just sing.
Right?
I'll just sing it.
Oh, it's so good.
So good.
All right, guys.
So the Eagles probably still celebrating.
And they're probably going to celebrate the whole week.
But they're planning to have their actual parade Friday, Valentine's Day,
for kicking ass and taking names yesterday against the Kansas City Chiefs.
So on Valentine's,
Valentine's Day is the official parade for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Cowboys are finalizing a deal to hire former Bills and Brown's offensive coordinator,

week's Genesis Invitational.
He is still processing his mother's death.
In his statement, he says he planned to play, but he just isn't ready.
Back to you guys.
Thank you, Moncie.
Now, Kavino and Rich, we got a lot more next.

Jacob Kingston grew up in an isolated polygamous sect.
We were God's chosen kingdom on earth.
He felt destined for greatness.
So when a swaggering Armenian businessman catapults Jacob into an extraordinary world, he doesn't look back.
Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, meeting the president of Turkey.
I'm Michelle McPhee, and this is one of the most shocking criminal conspiracies I've ever come across.
When Jacob met Levan this went to a billion dollar fraud.
But with two kings from entirely different worlds,
just how long can their empire survive?
The largest tax investigation in American history.
You need to tell me what you know.
Is somebody coming after me?
Jacob told Levan, you're ruining my life.

I like the Greek version better.
They not like Gus.
I don't know if you heard that one.
Stop it.
Come on, bro.
My friend Gus loves that joke.
Sure he does.
You should dump that not because it needs to be dumped just because so no one has to hear.
Oh, sorry.
I forgot I did the show with Cedric the Entertainer, the King of Comedy, Rich Davis.
Live from the Tyraq.com studio, Rockets own the dream ad with taking me home country roads was one of the highlights of Super Bowl Sunday.
because Rocket is reminding everybody
that you deserve a shot at the American dream
of owning a home.
It's a big deal
and they're bringing it back
and that's a great thing.
Again, we're Covino and Rich
at Covino and Rich fresh from the Super Bowl.
We had a big week out there.
It's good to be back.
Kind of exhausted like everybody else.
The post-Super Bowl blues
but now we're in the middle of
things that made you go,
hmm, Super Bowl edition.
Any of your observations
from the game
or this weekend, but mostly the game.
You know, other than, you know,
I know we're showing a lot of love to the Rocket Ed,
take me home country road,
the Pringles with the mustaches.
And before that,
Little Caesars prior to that
with the eyebrows flying.
Oh, wait, so they did eyebrows.
That was Little Caesars,
and then Pringles did the mustache flying.
Okay, so they did Eugene Levy's eyebrows.
I was like, who bit who?
I think they, like,
is it Levy?
I think it was a callback.
You know what I mean?
Like it was a callback of comedy kind of.
Like I think it was meant to be.
It was done intentionally.
Yeah, I think.
I mean, I've seen both speculated in articles about Super Bowl ads.
Again, much like the overall feeling of the game and the performance,
kind of a mid commercial.
There were some decent ones.
The Mickelope Ultra was good, the pickleball.
I thought the McConaughey one was funny.
That was good.
Yeah, but they've all lost their,
it's got food conspiracy.
The age of being excited for Super Bowl ads is just kind of done.
Simply because we've seen all these on social media.
They get leaked ahead of time.
So like the same excitement is just out there.
Does that have to happen?
It's strategic.
I know, but they need to change that.
Well, they want to get it out there.
So like, for instance,
the Hellman's Mayo one where it was Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan.
Saw that two weeks ago.
Reenacting when Harry met Sally and then Sidney Sweeney's.
I'll have what he's happened.
If I had seen that for the first time yesterday, I would have been like, oh, you know, I was cool.
But I saw it on like TikTok two weeks ago.
You just explained why the company shouldn't leak these.
Exactly.
Like we had seal on the show last week.
We watched the ad before he came on and knew about it.
But if I had seen the yesterday, I was like, oh, my God, I can't believe they made seal a seal.
Get out of here.
Other observations.
Any commercial takeaways let us know at 87799 on Fox.
We'll get your feedback.
I realized last night made me say, hmm.
I guess I'm going to have to invest in some flare bottom jeans.
I guess they're coming back as of as of yesterday.
Those bell bottoms were ugly.
Were they bell bottoms?
Like more of a flare.
People been calling them bell bottoms.
You know, either way, I'm wondering, wow, is this the comeback?
Does this mark the start of?
I wanted to see his shoes.
I wanted to see what shoes he's wearing.
They look like he was wearing platform shoes like people here.
It looked like platform Nike.
You know what I thought was interesting too?
I noticed these things a lot.
And I immediately noticed that.
And I'm shocked to like half the people at my house were like, oh, yeah, I guess so.
You didn't immediately notice the lower third graphic, the score.
It was the most simple, very, very basic.
I didn't hate it.
You saw more of the field.
It was the most basic, simple, P.H.I.
And K.C.
No.
Simple but bold and easy to follow graphics.
Like a high school AV package.
Yeah.
I noticed it.
It said, I saw a funny tweet.
It said, who let gronk design.
the graphics package.
But, yeah, no, it seemed very simple.
And, of course, people were talking about that.
Oh, speaking of Gronk, remember Tom Brady running out of the batteries?
Oh, that was nasty.
Yeah, and she's like, oh, boy, Gronk again.
And she walks off to change his batteries.
Derracell commercial.
So, again, any of your takeaways from the game from last night, you know, let us know at 87799 on Fox.
And if you can't call at Covino Enrich, it's your Super Bowl edition of things that made you go.
So I want to talk about Jalen Hertz
And what does this do for his image in your mind?
Plus another quarterback in the news, Aaron Rogers.
Thoughts on him next as well.
Hey guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers.
I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
And guess what?
We created our own podcast called,
Hey, Jonas.
Nice.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
