This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Hey guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
And guess what?
We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
But, you know, tired and sick.
Tired and sick.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you.
you get your podcast.
Just listen.
We don't care where you hear it.
Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy,
not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, S&L's Mikey Day
and head writer Streeter Seidel
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and Friends
on the ice.
Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
What's up, fam?
It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano.
It's our favorite time of the year on our podcast, Point Game, the playoffs.
We're digging into the biggest surprises of the season.
And I'm looking back on some of my greatest playoff moments.
If we didn't talk ever again, I was crying.
You just understood.
That's how personal it got.
Wow.
Then after that game seven, Marquis' keep coming to you.
He's like, you know, I love you, dog.
You know, it's all love.
This was just playoffs.
This was just basketball.
So listen to Point Game on the,
IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Therapy is fantastic, but once again, it does not have a monopoly on healing.
That's why I create the resources and that's why I create the community because I really
just want you to have more access.
On the podcast, Cultivating Her Space, Dr. Dom and Terry Lomax create a space where black
women can show up fully and be heard.
It's tough because we're suppressing our emotions and so many of us are like high-achieving
individuals.
Listen to cultivating her space on the IHeart Radio app.
Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcast.

You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Here we.
go live in Los Angeles. It's the herd wherever you may be and however you may be listening.
Thanks for making us part of your day. We have had a very, very strong week of shows, if I may say it.
Yesterday, I don't know if we could top that with Nick Wright and Urban Meyer.
Man, we were delivering the goods. Great to be here today. You know, I was thinking,
sometimes, J-Mack, since I'm driving to work. I don't listen to anything. I just don't listen to anything.
I just stay in my own thoughts.
That's a dangerous place.
Dangerous place.
And I, because when I get up in the morning,
I usually sit for about 45 minutes to an hour,
and I kind of peruse some websites.
I want to see the headlines.
And so when I drive to work, I'm thinking about, you know,
trying to kind of assemble stories.
And I thought about this one.
I saw a story.
Will Aaron Rogers end up with the Steelers?
And if not, it'll be Russell Wilson.
And I thought,
I mean,
Aaron Rogers has been reduced to that.
Think about this.
You know what Aaron Rogers has become?
What I compared him to the last four years.
He's become Kevin Durant.
Think about it.
Both left incredibly stable organizations.
Green Bay and Golden State.
All they do is win.
They got into their feelings, a little bit of ego.
They want to play with their buddies.
So they go to unstable places, the Jets in Brooklyn, and it's a mess.
Very quickly.
they stoke flames with the media.
Can't trust the media.
Hot take people, clickbait, can't, I do my own homework.
Both, if I, I've mentioned this for years, they're both single guys, rich, single guys that get older,
nobody at home to hold them accountable.
You know, you know how it is, kind of doing their own thing, whatever they feel like,
surround themselves with people who agree with them.
And now both the great Kevin Nourant, and he's great.
and the formerly great Aaron Rogers, he was great,
have been reduced to crossing their fingers,
hoping they can latch on to a team that can make the playoffs.
Both can be funny, both can be charming, both are all-time talents.
I think they're both kind of interesting guys.
I think in terms of professional athletes, they have a lot to say, and they're interesting.
But we have to be fair about Katie and Aaron.
both of those kind of people, and you probably know somebody like this in your life,
they're always searching for something.
You could have a sister or a brother like that.
They're always sort of searching for something.
Just being successful and winning, it's not enough.
Both also, sometimes to a fault, push back on authority.
Golden State was good for KD.
Green Bay was really good for Aaron Rogers.
And both have, in my opinion, hurt their own careers based on poor decisions.
the inability to realize how damn good they had it at Golden State and Green Bay.
In life, if you can't tell how green your grass is,
then everybody else's grass looks really green.
And now, because, you know, Katie's been banged up a few times, he's getting older,
he's not going to be anybody's leader.
They've tried that in Phoenix.
It doesn't work.
Okay?
they tried that in Brooklyn. It didn't work.
He's got to be an accessory.
He's got to be a piece.
And Aaron Rogers is probably 13th best quarterback in the league.
Maybe 12th, maybe 15th.
Some would say lower.
But you can't build around Aaron Rogers anymore.
And the moral to the story or the lesson in life is, at least as a pro athlete,
winning a lot if you're being compensated fairly, it's enough.
You got to know how green.
grass is. Golden State? I mean, you could show up, have a bad night, and the team wins by 20.
That's a good life. I mean, that's like for you and I having a bad day at work and you come home and
your kids are so great and your wife's so great. You have a great day, and yet you had a bad day at work.
That's a pretty good life. And I think that's reading that this morning, that it's down to Aaron Rogers,
this is it. It could be the New York Giants. It could be the Pittsburgh Steelers. And I'm like, man,
we're talking MVP a few years ago. With KD, we're talking a few years ago. Is he better than LeBron?
And this is what it's been reduced to. Okay, you know I grew up in the Pacific Northwest.
That's up in the corner of the country for the uninitiated. And so this story just cracks me up.
And you also know I like Sam Darnold.
And I don't want to criticize any media people by name, but the Seahawks signing Sam Darnold and letting go of Gino Smith, some of the takes by you media people have been awful.
Gino Smith last year had 21 TDs and 15 picks.
He's 34.
Donald's more mobile.
Donald signed an incredibly Seahawk-friendly deal.
Donald was better than Gino last year.
What's all the hysteria?
Like, I understand the media falls for stories.
But the story has gone from, what a great comeback story, to, hey, Gino Smith is irreplaceable.
What?
21 touchdowns, 15 picks, and he had two good running backs, and he had three good receivers,
and he had a capable tied end.
Speaking of comeback stories, media, how about we come back to reality?
Donald, seven years younger, had a much better year, much better athlete mobility-wise.
And that deal, Donald signed with the Seahawks.
Sam gave away money.
He knows the value of being in a good situation.
Donald, that's an incredibly Seahawk-friendly deal.
It's like the Buccaneers-Baker deal.
It's incredibly team-friendly.
And in both cases, John Snyder, Seattle, Jason Light and Tampa, you have an elite
GMs. This is very much Tampa. You kind of got a quarterback who's B2B plus and you got
him for like a C-minus contract. So I mean, think about this. All the how did you let Gino
Smith go? Russell Wilson right now can't really find a job. And in the last two years,
he's had more touchdown passes and a higher passer rating than Gino Smith.
You people are both, you're all freaking out. Like the
media just latches onto stories and they can't let go.
I'm going to make a guarantee.
This is Collins' personal guarantee or your money back.
Donald will do better than 21 touchdowns and 15 picks next year.
I don't know how much better, but he's younger, he's a better athlete.
He'll make things happen off script.
I mean, Seattle last year, third downs are really important down, right?
We would all admit that.
You, me, everybody, J-Mack, you'd admit this.
Third down's important.
Adelaide Lockett.
The Ohio State kid we all like.
D.K. Matt Calf.
Legit left tackle.
Two decent backs.
The Seahawks were
21st on third down.
And oh, by the way,
the sixth most drives ending in a punt
with way better than average weapons.
In a division
where the Niners were falling apart,
Arizona is Arizona,
and the Rams are a year away.
Now the Rams are the best team
in the division. Rams are better.
or San Francisco rebuilding.
I mean, good God.
If you go to Gino and Sam Darnold's comps last year,
across the board,
Darnold's significantly better.
So I understand the need by writers and bloggers
and media people to latch on to the story.
But the Gino Smith leaves Seattle
has gone from a cool comeback story.
Let's come back to reality.
21 touchdowns, 15 picks,
34 years old,
not as mobile as darnal.
There's an argument.
And I like Gino to the Raiders because he's an adult.
He's a grown-up.
He's accurate.
He'll move the chains.
There's an argument.
Seattle squeezed just about everything Gino's got.
He's probably got one or two decent years.
Quarterbacks hit 35 and 36.
It just looks different, except for Tom Brady.
It kind of looks different.
I'm not anti-Geno.
But J.S.N.
D.K. Matcalf.
Tyler Lockett.
Two capable running backs, no offense.
Sixth in the league and drives inning and punt.
21st in the league on third down.
Like, come on now.
I mean, Bo Knicks considerably better and was throwing to Cortland Sutton
and then just crossing his fingers as a rookie.
Take a deep breath.
Darnold, Gino.
I've said, you can argue they're both somewhere between 13th and 16th best
quarterback in the league.
if I get the guy that's seven years younger, more athletic, with a better friendly team deal.
Remember, Gino wanted 45.
Sam's got like 33.
I can get two more players.
Like, they're not different enough.
Sam Darnold's not going to give you the Vikings year.
He's also not going to give you a Jets year.
Seattle's got a good GM and Sam's going to play with four more new starters that John Snyder drafts.
Think about that as well.
Do not.
Do not undersell.
Baker signing a team-friendly deal.
That's why Tampa's got so many good players.
Brady didn't break the bank.
Baker didn't break the bank.
Gino, for his skill set at 34,
wanted a lot more money than Sam got.
All right, Jay Mack.
We have, oh, I've got an interesting Micah Parson shot at Brock Purdy.
You're not going to hit him with more you people.
I heard a couple of those in the opening rant.
That's a little combative to start the show.
By the way, Bo Nix and Cortland Sutton, 13th on third down in a division with the Chargers defense and the Chiefs defense.
Okay.
As a rookie, 13th on third down, in a division with two of the top four defenses in the league.
Not bad.
Can I already take you up on your money back guarantee that you just made with Senator Arnold?
So you said, I guarantee you he'll go better than 21 touchdowns and 15 picks.
Okay, so I just looked at Sam Donald's career.
Other than last year's outlier with the great Kevin O'Connell,
Sam Donald has never thrown 21 touchdowns in the NFL.
And now his top receiver is JSN.
They got rid of two other guys.
I don't think he's going to hit 21 touchdowns, Scott.
Do you think they're going to all of a sudden air it out?
No, he's going to go 24 and 8, which is way better than 21 and 15.
He'll go 24 and 8.
By the way, they have a number one receiver.
Fant, two running backs, we know you can find receivers in college.
You can find receivers, by the way, because Sam Darnold's deal is friendly.
You can find receivers at the trade deadline.
What if a team is a mess in week seven, then go find, you know,
the Darnold deal is so team friendly, it allows you moves potentially at the trade deadline.
You also said there between the 13th and 16th best quarterback.
They're both in that whole ballpark.
I hate to break it to you.
Yeah.
But I recently went through on my podcast, and neither of them are top 15.
I mean, there's 15 better quarterbacks in the league right now.
Like, Tua, would you say Tua's better than both those guys?
I would say Tua's been more consistent with both those guys, but small, not good deep.
Concussion issues.
And if it's windy, he's not the same player.
I'd take Darnold.
I'm just saying.
And I also look at Tua how much you have to pay Tua and how much you have to pay Sam.
That factors in.
I mean, there's only a couple quarterbacks in the league where you're like,
what's the weather like?
And if the answer isn't what you want to hear,
you don't get the same player.
So, DAC or Gino Smith or Sam Donald,
like, it's got to be DAC.
I don't love him, especially not at 60-mil.
After a second lower body injury,
be sure it's Dak?
Wow.
Oh, Sam Donald rising the ranks suddenly.
I'm not.
I'm being realistic.
By the way, Jordan Love had a totally up-and-down season,
went 25 TD's 11 picks.
Sam can't go 24 and 10.
And Jordan Love last year
disappointed most of us.
24 and 10.
Most of us.
I'm not saying 36 and 6.
I'm not asking for a Josh Allen.
I'm not saying 29 and 4.
Aaron in his prime.
I'm just saying 24 and 10, 24 and 11.
Sam can't do that?
No.
By the way, all you Aaron Rogers fan boys,
but apparently Peter,
Shrager on Good Morning Football today reported that Aaron Rogers could take up to four weeks to make a decision.
I mean, stuff is funny.
Can you imagine trying to hire somebody, you know, the most important position on your team in a team sport?
Hey, give me a month.
What are you been doing?
You were out of the playoff race like three years ago.
I mean, what are we doing here?
Can you get, can you get, can you get me an answer?
I'm not, I'm not looking for you to play tomorrow.
Could you just give me an answer?
Hey, again, it's amazing.
Rich single guys, the older they get, the weirder they get.
This is funny, Micah Parsons, took a shot at the 49ers in Brock Purdy.
As Micah is watching the Niners having to get rid of all these players,
because now they have to pay Brock Purdy.
And the little tweet by Micah is, No More Rookie Quarterback, LOL,
Welcome to Reality.
Yes, yes, yes.
Brock Purdy now lives the same life as every single.
other quarterback in the league.
It's a flawed roster.
It's an average offensive line.
You have a highly compensated
receiver coming off surgery,
and there's no more money
to upgrade.
You have to cross your fingers on draft picks.
So this is the real NFL.
This has been my narrative for years.
It's almost like the first time you move
out from your parents and you're on your own.
Oh, wait, my phone bills $278 a month.
I've only got one lamp.
Oh, I had no
idea cutlery cost this much.
Mom said I have to pay for my own car insurance.
Yeah, that's called grown-up, adult.
That's a reality when you get off, you know, the parents' dole.
So Brock Purdy's been in this league, you know, three full years.
A little bit of a trust fund kid.
Not a lot of discomfort.
Didn't have to carry anybody.
Not a lot to overcome.
Well, then the second half of last year happened.
Left tackles out.
McCaffrey's out.
Receiver banged up.
That, by the way, that's not a hardship.
That's called the NFL for a quarterback.
That's what Mahomes has been dealing with for three years.
That's not a hardship.
You having to pay your own car insurance is not a hardship.
It's called being an adult.
So Micah Parsons is just saying, okay, remember.
Remember Dak?
When Dak came into the league, you guys all fell for it.
Number one, on line by a mile.
I mean, like Philadelphia's online now, just dominant.
Zeke was all pro.
they got him Amari Cooper short time after that CD lamb oh we eating and all of a sudden now you get paid and you get an injury like Brock Purdy's going to get paid and he's had a couple injuries you don't move quite as well and then all of a sudden you're measured on different stuff so the other thing to remember so Brock Purdy entered the league with the best roster just in his division looking down at everybody now the Rams have a better roster Rams have a better quarterback Rams have a better coach
Purdy was 0-2 against the Rams last year.
So remember how Sean McVeigh got tired of losing to Kyle Shanahan and moved off Goff?
Let me tell you something.
If Brock Purdy gets a new deal in the next two years can't beat McVeigh, that's going to piss Shanahan off.
Whole world changes now when you get paid.
Expectations go up.
McVe loved golf, and then he couldn't beat his rival.
He was winning a lot of games.
He got you to a Super Bowl.
He couldn't beat the Niners.
Ticked him up.
Never forget, McVey and Shanahan, maybe buddies.
They are intense rivals.
And now McVeigh's got the better roster, the better quarterback.
He won both games last year.

We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's extra special.
So how did we actually come up with a name Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Oh, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band.
Before Jonas Brothers was...
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes. I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast,
people could call in and say,
Hey, Jonas, and then I wrote down on my little notepad,
Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.

The French Open is one of the toughest tests in tennis,
and I know firsthand because I competed there myself.
I'm Renee Stubbs, and on the Renee Stubbs' tennis podcast,
I'm breaking down everything happening at Roland Goals.
every match, every upset, and what it really takes to win on Clay.
Jenchian win.
I mean, she went down to three to Rabakina, but I'm delighted.
She's an outsider to win the French for me.
And she likes Clay.
Listen, Lena Rubakina is arguably the best player in the world right now,
and I actually can win on any surface.
Because if she's serving, well, good luck.

Presented by Capital One, founding partner of I Heart Women's Sports.
Mike Keparsons coming around on the old Brock Purdy narrative.
Things are changing.
It's like J-Mack.
First couple of weeks made mistakes, nobody cared now.
The Brink Truck stopped by.
Little tougher grading scale in the old Hurt Update guy.
Here's J-Mack with the news.
No, no, no, no.
Turn on the news.
This is the HIRD my news.
Did you have a cigar last night or two, maybe?
No, I'll tell you what happened.
Oh, no.
So, my daughter, might as well be a pharmacist.
So literally, I say, hey, dad needs some.
I want to get a good night's sleep because I got some takes tomorrow.
And she goes, oh, magnesium is great.
And I'm like, okay, whatever.
So she opens up the cabinet.
And it's, you know, seriously, I feel like I'm at CVS.
And she gives me a magnesium.
I fell asleep with my clothes on, woke up with a cat on my shoulder.
I'm like, I don't even know what happened.
I mean, seriously.
Was it the first time you've ever tried magnesium to go to sleep?
Well, yeah.
Wow, okay.
It's effective.
Hey, this is a drug-free environment over here.
Drug-free.
But I went heavy magnesium last night.
Honestly, I could go UFC Octagon for about six rounds right now.
Wow.
Okay.
Maybe shadow boxing, but I could go in there.
Shadowboxing.
All right, so let's get started.
Listen, there's a lot of fun stuff today.
We're starting with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
We don't talk about them a ton, but they've won 15 games in a row.
for the second time this season.
Colin, why aren't we talking,
why aren't you leading the show
with Donovan Mitchell's dominant Cavs there?
During this 15-game winning streak,
unbelievable numbers, fourth in rating,
first in net rating, defensive rating, two.
Colin, Cleveland Cavs, Donovan Mitchell.
I've been saying this all year.
Second best team, the two best teams in the league
and that's not really a third.
To me, OKC is not ready for this smoke.
Boston one, Cleveland, two,
Gap to Oklahoma City.
Cleveland, Oklahoma City is, where are the Lakers?
LeBron's out for two weeks.
Healthy, everybody healthy.
Luke is eating a Snickers bar, can't defend a chair.
No, Cleveland's good.
Everybody fell in love with Cleveland two years ago.
Cleveland is what Oklahoma City, Oklahoma City this year is Cleveland a year ago,
that everybody's like, they're ready, and they just needed even even Mowgli
needed to get a little better.
They needed more seasoning.
They needed to play together for another 50 games.
Cleveland's the real deal.
Real deal.
15 wins in a row.
I mean, would you be shocked if they got to the NBA finals?
No.
You think they're going to.
Bill Simmons thinks they're going to beat the Celtics.
I think I was the other day.
No, he thinks it's 50-50.
Yeah.
Well, you can be a Celtic guy and also say Cleveland matches up with us.
Boston, I think Boston beats Cleveland, but Cleveland's the only team that Boston has to be completely healthy to beat.
You can't be missing Holiday with his finger.
or Porzingis.
Porzingis illness is a little tough.
Yeah, no, you've got to have a full staff to beat Cleveland.
And Cleveland, Cleveland and Boston can score down low, can defend the rim, defend the perimeter.
Now, Garland's not much of a defender at the point, but they're really good.
Not to quote the great Rick Flair, but I have to.
To be the man, you've got to beat the man.
That's right.
And I'm not buying the calves until they beat Boston in a playoff series.
Is it really good regular season team, but they've got to take down Boston in the playoffs.
Yes.
Do you see that happening?
Both teams fully healthy.
Boston and six?
All I know, it will be one of the better playoff series in a long time.
Who are the best three players on the floor in that series, Boston Caps?
Best three in order.
Oh, I think there's three really good players, Tatum, Jalen Brown, and Donovan Mitchell.
And then I think Evan Mobley.
Evan Mobley's good.
He's really good.
Really good.
Almost talking yourselves into the cats.
Be careful, Kalin.
Always looking out for you.
All right.
Next story.
This was a surprise last night.
The bills nabed Joey Bosa
on a one-year $12.6 million deal.
I like it.
Boza's only 29.
Yeah.
Now, he's had an injury history
in recent years,
but the bills recently moved on from Von Miller,
so Bosa fills that void.
At his best, he's better than Von Miller,
and he's cheaper.
Oh, heck yeah.
Yeah.
Can he say healthy is a question.
You know, here's the thing.
It's the Vaughn Miller deal I didn't like
because I thought he was past his prime
and it was a huge deal.
This is a one-year deal for $12.5 million bucks.
It's a very smart deal.
I'm actually surprised there wasn't more of a market because you and I were on the go-get Miles Garrett train.
Well, Joey's not Miles Garrett, but when he's healthy, he's a good player.
Oh, very good.
Is this the kind of move that puts them over the top or we don't?
No, I think they still, I think, listen, puts them over the top.
They're at the top.
They just can't beat one team.
Everybody else in the league, Philadelphia, Kansas City ahead, Buffalo's third, they're fine.
I say one of the stories of the offseason that nobody's talking.
about is Kansas that he's offensive line.
It wasn't good last year.
It's terrible.
Well, you can't lose Joe Tooney
and convince me of a better old line.
Joe Tony's one of the five
most flexible, capable
offensive linemen into sport.
I know people aren't going to want to hear this, but
I'm pro, hey, we need
a pitch count, if you will,
for Bosa during the regular season
because I want him healthy in January
January January. That's right. That's right.
Like, I don't care if he's not producing in the regular season.
I need him in the playoffs, because that's all the matter.
This is a release, that's smart GMing.
One year, 12.5 million, good player.
Let's say you get 12 games out of him.
Okay.
All right.
Is he playing against Kansas City in the playoffs?
I'm good.
That's all the matter.
Final story, Colin, is your Chicago Bears having a monster offseason building in the trenches
and now there's some speculation that Ashton Genty, the Barry Sanders clone from Boise State,
is going to be the pick for the Bears in the...
first round. In fact, Gentie is now the betting favorite to land in Chicago. I have a theory about
this, but I'll let you go first. Now, Ben Johnson is the new coach. We know when he was in Detroit,
they added Gibbs with the 12th overall pick to join Montgomery. A little thunder and lightning
action. It worked. Do you buy Gentie to the Bears? Well, I think I'll tell you what a general
manager told me last week. When it comes to the first round, especially in a draft that's not
great. Just take the best player. So I don't think they're saying
gentie. I think what the bears are saying at this point is, who's the best player
available? I don't think you can get picky. I mean, there are 12 guys in this
draft. That's what GMs are telling me. 12, maybe 13 players
in this draft that are first round players. The average is about 17. Most
years, we're at 12. So I think you just take the best player available. Now,
I do think there's going to be a player draft.
that after the 15th, that linebacker at Alabama, I think he's going to end up being a really good
player. But by and large, I think you just take what's there. So my theory is the bears are
floating this because they know Gentie's a hot commodity for Dallas, for Denver, several teams.
And they want somebody to move up. Trade back. But they say, hey, everybody, we're taking
Gentie. If you want him, you've got to move up to our spot. And I think the Bears would
love to get a couple more picks. You've said this many times. It's a monster running.
Well, listen, there's an, I think Gentie's the best back. But I think the kid at
Carolina. He's amazing. He's also a 90% of Gentie. Maybe more. Maybe 95. So I can get him and another
third round pick. Yeah. Yeah, I'll do it. And you got DeAndre Swift in the backfield already.
Roshaw Johnson. Like, they have okay bats. I don't think they need gentie here, Colin.
I'm, I agree with you. That's a good, that's a good take. Bears want it floated. Bears won
another pick. I'm trying to match your level of hot, fiery takes here on a hump day.
Is it Wednesday or Thursday?
Wednesday.
That magnesium threw me.
I woke up.
I thought I was in Hawaii.
I'm starting to have a donut every other morning.
Is that not good?
I can't lecture anybody.
I've had already two bags of Sour Patch kids this morning.
This upstairs studio thing is killing me.
Like the studio, it's killing me.
You got to get that summer body ready, huh?
Actually, where you're going, it's summer doesn't even exist.
It's a winter.
It's a great city.
Great American city.
Midwest. If you try it sometime, a lot of nice people there.
You tell me it's a great place to fly over.
Midwest is where the real soul of the country is.
J. Mack with the News.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.
The Herd Lie News.
Oh, I saw this. I saw this story.
Saw this story.
There's a lot of people out there selling this story.
NBA is dead.
Seven years.
Was 11 years, $76 billion contract?
Yeah, I don't think it's dead.
I don't think it's going to the emergency room.
Owners happy, players happy, Adam Silver happy.
If you sell your house for twice what it's worth, you're happy.
Forget what happens, do it after.
So, oh, the Laker Celtics game.
It wasn't even a good game in the second half.
scored a seven-year ratings high as the NBA playoffs approach.
Every sport except the NFL needs certain brands, certain cities to win.
Last year, Dodgers, Yankees had a 67% increase.
67% World Series ratings increase.
By the way, when the Cubs played in Game 7, both those series on Fox,
it was the highest.
They had 40 million viewers.
for a baseball game in America.
Forty million!
So, Cubs,
Yankees, Dodgers,
baseball all of a sudden is cool again.
In college football, highest
Natty rating in my adult life,
USC Texas, a 22.5.
So the NBA
today, L.A. Lakers,
New York Knicks, Boston Celtics,
San Francisco,
love their teams,
and their teams are all good.
Jeannie Bus said this the other day.
she was on a podcast. She said, I had no idea the global impact of Luca.
So you put Luca, you put Luca in, you know, Los Angeles from Dallas.
You put Jimmy Butler, Miami to the Warriors, and it's like, whoa, it changes everything.
So the Cowboys haven't been to a Super Bowl in what, like 30 years?
Doesn't matter. Irrelevant.
But it's why I've been saying going forward, I can't understand ESPN not signing baseball.
The Dodgers are great.
The Mets are fascinating.
Yankees is good.
Braves always good.
Cubs just got the best offseason acquisition of the year.
Braves, Dodgers, Mets, Phillies.
All the big markets.
All the big brands are great.
What is ESPN doing?
Like double down on bay.
And I'm not a huge baseball guy.
Like, this is the best time to buy.
by baseball and the game now is watchable because it lasts two hours and 36 minutes,
not three hours and 11 minutes.
So here was on the Julian Edelman podcast, here was Jeannie Bus talking about the Luca move.
Here's Jeannie Boss.
We were not looking to trade Anthony Davis.
Dallas contacted us.
It was a deal that both sides wanted to make.
I didn't anticipate the global impact it would have.
I mean, I knew it was going to be a big story in the NBA, but he really is a global
superstar.
Yeah, so I said this.
The NBA, you got to have
your players in the right spots. This is baseball.
Bryce Harper. In
baseball sports crazy Philadelphia.
Judge, New York,
stacked rosters with
the Dodgers and the Mets.
Braves O'Cunia. Cubs make a move.
Southern California, Padres
are stacked. Like, in baseball,
NBA, you got to have
the right brands. I mean, I know you all love
Boise State, but the bottom line is it's
really good when Michigan and Ohio State and Notre Dame end up,
keep, you know, I mean, that Michigan,
Big Ten's explosion the last couple years is going to pay dividends for years.
You want the Big Ten and the SEC and those big brands and Notre Dame to be good.
So just over time, everybody except the NFL, you need stars in the right places.
NBA's going to be fine.
You don't have to love the NBA, but I mean this weekend's a great example.
I'm watching Michigan, Michigan State play.
Tough watch.
Bad offensive team.
I turn on OKC in Denver, and it's like superstars.
And it's like it's a great watch.
College basketball is fun, but it's a three-week sport.
NBA is going to be fine.
You've got an MVP's battling on another channel, Michigan, Michigan State,
who are struggling to hit a jumper on the other channel.
Don't talk yourself into less athletic, less dynamic athletes.
We love March Madness for three weeks.
NBA's going to be fine.
It doesn't have to be your favorite sport.
Just say this out loud.
Here's the cities that really love this sport.
New York, L.A., Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Dallas did.
Chicago's led the NBA in attendance for four straight years.
They have a bad product.
If New York, L.A., Chicago, Boston, Philly, San Francisco are really into something?
I mean, I love college football.
Nobody in Philadelphia, San Francisco, New York, Boston.
Nobody cares.
They don't care about it.
I do.

Hey, it's us to Jonas Brothers, and guess what?
We have some big news.
What's the news, huge news?
We created our own podcast called Hates.
called Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's extra special.
So how did we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Oh, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band.
Before Jonas Brothers.
This is how you guys remember it going.
Don't? Yes. I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast,
where people could call in and say, Hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas,
and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.

not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smigel and Friends.

This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

And I know firsthand because I competed there myself.
I'm Renee Stubbs.
And on the Renee Stubbs tennis podcast, I'm breaking down everything happening.
at Roland Garris. Every match, every upset, and what it really takes to win on Clay.
Jen she went. I mean, she went down at three to Rabakina, but I'm delighted.
She's an outsider to win the French for me. And she likes Clay.
Listen, Lena Rubakina is arguably the best player in the world right now. And I actually can win on
any surface because if she's serving, well, good luck.

Who will rise up in the world's most famous arena and take the conference ground?
The Big East Tournament, live from Madison Square Garden, against tomorrow on Fox and...
By the way, JMAQ asked a very interesting question related to Aaron Rogers during the break,
but just ask the question for the audience.
I want the audience to think about this.
So how long do you think you could last in a darkness retreat?
45 minutes.
Maybe an hour and a half.
I got a wife.
I got a kid.
I have responsibilities.
I have people that rely on me.
I'm not rich, single, and think the grass is greener in Mars.
Like, I mean, the bottom line is all these Hollywood people that do ayahuasca.
Yeah, if you work in a film set three and a half months a year, you do stand-up comedy, you're in the creative field.
But, like, you're not married or like, you can just as a little.
for four months or you can disappear for like six seven days go for it also I've never
needed to find myself I found myself at like eight I wanted to be a sportscaster I wanted to
be married by you know like by the time I'm like mid-20s I'm like I think I'm only going to
have kids and get married I'm not one of these people searching constantly to find my truth like
I kind of knew what I want my mom saying when I was eight she she was mad at me one day sure
you have all the answers you're eight going on 45 and I said
100.
You have no idea how similar we are, Colin.
Honestly, that's the kind of attitude I had.
I was a little rebellious, I'm assuming you were.
Same error, same error.
And you knew you wanted to be a journalist.
I knew.
Listen, I feel bad for some people that, like, don't know what they want to be.
Like, I get it.
I got lucky on that.
But it's like, I don't, I don't, I don't need ayahuasca to unlock anything.
Unlock what?
I spew three hours a day on radio.
What am I going to get?
Am I going to have better takes?
Like, what am I trying to find?
Like, you get what you get with me.
I'm not trying to get better at, I'm just, come in, work hard, be accountable, be a good partner for everybody here.
That's a question I get about you a lot.
What's it like with Colin?
I'm like, you see what he's on the show?
I swear to you, that's who he is.
If you see him at a movie theater, a Starbucks, wherever, that's who he is.
And they're like, I see him at the gym often.
I was like, just go say what's up.
He's normal.
He's not, I mean, I'm not saying Aaron Rogers and Seth Rogen doing ayahuasca.
If you're in the creative field and you're a, like, you're a creative, you're a producer,
I think there's some value in spending a weekend doing ayahuasca, throwing up, doing mushrooms in Costa Rica.
I think it's experimental, and I think literature and art is experimental.
If you're running an accounting firm, just show up to work.
Yeah, how about ketamine? Have you considered that?
I don't even know what that is.
Yeah.
I know it's legal, but I've heard good things.
I take creatine gummies after a workout.
And I took, I took, what's that thing that starts with an M?
magnesium last night. But Aaron Rogers plays in a structured sport, and he basically, according
to Peter Schrager, told the Steelers, give me about four weeks and I'll have an answer. You're
not a producer in Hollywood where everything takes forever. I'm doing a project right now. Everything
in Hollywood is slow motion. It's brutal. It takes forever to do anything. In the NFL,
we have games that are scheduled, OTAs that are scheduled. So you can't just say, hey, I'm
Seth Rogan. Seth Rogan's living in a creative world.
world, Adam Sandler. All these artists, they're brilliant people. Christopher Nolan, they need to find
themselves and what were you saying? Joe, well, no, no, I'm talking Seth Rogan, the comedian.
He's awesome. Seth Rogan is good. He's hysterical. He needs these creative, you know, these flashes
of brilliance and go to the dark side and go hide in an Oregon retreat. If I told my wife, hey,
this weekend I'm doing ayahuasca, I'll be puking all weekend and on the toilet, and then next
weekend. I'm going to go for a cave for a week. She'd say, I've got an attorney I want you to talk to.
And I'm comfortable with that. Okay. So I think a very interesting spot in this draft,
Tennessee first pick, Cleveland, second, Giants, third, New England, fourth. It's a very interesting
spot. So if you watch Free Agency, Mike Vrable for the Patriots, has gotten a lot of tough guys.
Milton Williams, Harold Landry, Robert Spillane, Morgan McCullough, culture guys, tough guys.
They haven't.
They haven't pursued a lot of guys that are going to help their quarterback Drake May.
So that's why I think Travis Hunter to New England makes sense.
Okay.
And they already have two good, they went and got a number two cornerback Carlton Davis.
They've already got a number one cornerback Christian Gonzalez.
They don't need a corner, although they could use him in return game and some that.
but what they need is dynamic fun flash and they're not getting that in free agency so that leads me to believe that new england's going to go out and get the most dynamic player in the draft because it's the opposite really of what they're accumulating in free agency and here's urban mire on travis hunter
i would never say this other than that guy i'd play in both ways i would train him i mean he i've never seen call it on a 160th play of the game he's blocking
guys 25, 30 yards down field.
At the end of the
game, he's a strong, I know it's college,
and I get that. I'm sure some
people say, oh, it's college, it's college, I get that.
But in my
lifetime, I'm not seeing a guy to do that.
All right, here's another one, I'll throw
at you. I don't think this is a take. I think this is
common sense. So I said earlier today, I made a
guarantee. A hundred percent
money-back guarantee on this show.
That Gino Smith last year had
21 touchdowns and 15 picks
for Seattle. And I'm like,
all this hysteria that Seattle moved off him.
He's 34 years old.
Darnold's 27 and more athletic.
And I said to J-Mack,
Sam Darnold, I'll guarantee you,
does better than 21 and 15.
So J-Mack was like,
you think he's going to throw more than 21 touchdowns.
I'll give you an example.
Here are quarterbacks that have thrown for more than 21 touchdowns in a season.
Daniel Jones,
Blake Bortles,
Mitch Trubisky,
And Seattle's a good roster and a good organization.
They've got players here.
And John Snyder's one of the better GMs.
They got a bunch of draft picks.
You don't think they'll find three or four more good players?
So Sam Howell, two years ago, through 21 touchdown passes.
Sam Owl.
So Darnold can't do that.
He's got a number one receiver, no offense, two good backs.
And, by the way, name the two teams in the league that never miss on wide receivers.
The Steelers and the Seahawks.
That's fair.
They just draft receivers well.
I'll just still take the under betting on regression.
You think he's going to have fewer than 21 touchdown passes?
I'll go under, yeah.
I love that game.
By the way, when I go to, like, the grocery store with my kids, I would always do guess the total, you know.
Price is right.
Price is right thing.
So that's what it feels like with Donald's 21 touchdown.
But do you understand?
Was saying, hey, 17 games.
Yes.
So think about that.
We live in a world of 17 games.
So if Sam just throws one touchdown a game and has a real.
Really nice November.
He's at 24.
If you just do won a game?
You'd think that.
He's never done it in his career other than last year with Justin Jefferson, Jordan Madison, Kevin O'Connell.
Never done in his career before.
Didn't do it with the Jets back in the day, although, you know, it's the Jets.
Okay.
Just, my point is you're making over 21 touchdowns for Darnel just sound just otherworldly.
Sam threw 35 last year.
So let's just take a dozen off him.
A lot of indoor games, by the way, playing in that division, Detroit.
Okay, for the record, I grew up in the Pacific Northwest.
If it snows, it's infrequent, and it's late December.
September and October is perfect weather.
He plays in a division with warm Arizona, warm L.A., both inside, and San Francisco Mild.
He's not going to play in a lot of snow games.
Fair.
About a week.
He struggled to grip the football in the rain there.
Yeah, my guy doesn't.
That's your guy.
Your guy, it's overcast.
Okay, numbers coming down.
I can't.
This is just the first of many NFL bets we're going to make this season at-to-head.
I'll look you under.
And I don't hate Durnal.
I like him.
It sounds like it.
Since he was with the Jack.
I'm a huge fan.
You're like Buker and LeBron.
I love it.
But.
Or you and Tatum.
A little bit.
No, it's just not, you know, it's just, again, I'm not, I said before Sam got his
contract. I said, I didn't say
Sam deserve 45. I said, he deserves
the Baker contract. That's exactly
what he signed. And that's what I was told
Sam's people were willing
to negotiate. Sam was like,
hey man, I've been with the Jets,
I've been with Kevin O'Connell, I just
want stability in a good roster.
So I think Sam and Baker Mayfield
deserve a ton of credit. They'd
seen the dark side. They're like,
I mean, Baker goes to Tampa.
It's like, I get Mike Evans and Chris Godwin?
Yeah, I'll take a little less.
like, yeah, Seattle's well-built.
Hey, guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe. I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick. And guess what?
We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it, but, you know, tired and sick.
Tired and sick.

That's how personal it got.
Wow.
Then after that game 7, Marquis keep coming to him.

You know, it's all love.
This was just playoffs.
This was just basketball.
