Your day one hour from now. Drew Brees stops by where Colin was right, where Colin was wrong. Well, yesterday, we had a big prize fight on Friday that was a dud. We had a prize fight yesterday that wasn't a dud, Buffalo, Kansas City, which, by the way, in the regular season, The bills have beaten a four straight times, but you know the way it works in the NFL. It's like college basketball.

Nobody cares until March. Nobody wants to hear about December, January, February, in college basketball. North Carolina, they want March. And so, Jay Mack, the bills do beat the Chiefs. It's official.

They don't beat them when they really want to beat them, but they beat them all the time. So Buffalo is now four and one against Kansas City in the regular season. So fun game, great game, prize fight look great. Kansas City probably still going to get home field advantage, but they didn't need it last year.

So it's not to be all end. What did we learn from the game? Well, I do believe, and I've said this for probably a month and a half, I think this is the best version of Buffalo to beat Kansas City. They were missing three starters offensively,

and they still had 366 yards, scored 30 points, were great on third down, they dominated the game. This is the best version of Buffalo. They were missing a great tight end. You know, they're missing an offensive lineman. They're missing a star wide receiver. And they still move the ball. They dominate third down. They dominate time of possession.

They control the football game. And so I think this is the absolute best version of Buffalo. For years and years, they always had like, you know, mediocre running backs. They don't anymore. They would have no number one receiver, or if

they did, Stefan Diggs, you liked him, but it got dramatic. Amari Cooper's like quiet, volume, makes plays, never hear a peep. It's like, it just works. Buffalo, Buffalo's not a flashy team. They have an incredibly dynamic quarterback, but it is a middle class, tough blue collar, punch in the mouth, play physical, jump on picnic tables. That's what it is. That's even the Jim Kelly teams and the Josh Allen teams. Yet a great quarterback that can make amazing things happen, but it's a tough town, tough people, a way to win, they like to play at home, they use the weather and their toughness to

their advantage. But it's the NFL. It's a new era. You got to have something on the sidelines. You got to have some wiggle. Right? And like Buffalo was like, okay, you got the tough down. You got the Josh Allen down. We've seen that before with Buffalo. That was the Jim Kelly teams. You had a great quarterback. You were tough. You had a good coach. But this team now has got more offensive weapons so Josh Allen doesn't have to put the cape on all the time. This version of Buffalo I like. So, and let's be honest about Kansas City. They have. have been the best team in the NFL last couple of years, situationally,

in big moments. But they've had to be, because they're not Detroit. They don't steamroll anybody. I mean, they were on a 15-game winning streak. Twelve of those wins were one possession. So they've got to be great, and they are situationally. But they have to outsmart. They have to out-clever because that's what they have right now.

When you pay Mahomes, what you pay them, you're not going to have two great receivers. You can't be Cincinnati. And, I mean, I just think there was a moment in that game. It was a big play at the end of the half. And I thought it was really interesting where Buffalo, end of the first half, Josh Allen had a really bad pick. It was really bad pick.

And, you know, I saw, like, everybody in the, you know, Mahomes, a lot of quarterbacks. Russell Wilson had really bad picks yesterday. And Josh played great, but he had a really bad pick. Kansas City takes it, marches down. And I'm thinking, oh, here we go. Here we go. This is the moment. Buffalo is going to fold against Kansas City.

But they didn't. They settled down. down. Josh Allen wasn't going to let it happen. They let it happen. They never trailed. They never trailed. So it was the prize fight we thought we hoped we'd get on Friday. You know, we thought Friday was going to be a big fight and it was a dud. This one, as we tuned in, I'm like, I don't know what I learned. This is the best version of Buffalo. Kansas City, this thing had to end eventually. You can't just win close games forever. There was a moment in this game where I thought, I kind of thought Buffalo was going to fold.

Josh Bad Pick, Chiefs Marchdown. But you know what, they didn't. And they made plays that Amari Cooper catch and this feels like a a little different little more fortitude um Josh Allen that the the knockout punch run for a touchdown and here he was after I know it's a from perception outside perception it's a really big game and what it means for both fan bases and the league we're in week 11 you know we're 9 and 2 last time I checked nine wins probably doesn't get you in the playoffs. So, you know, going to the Spy Week, get to enjoy ourselves a little bit, but coming back ready, you know, a hungry team and just trying to go one and out.

Now let's state it again. Buffalo does beat Kansas City. This is not Lamar Jackson against the Steelers. He can't beat them. No, no. Buffalo beats Kansas City a lot for straight regular season. They're very good at that. It has been late in the season.

You get to the playoffs. becomes very situational. The weather is worse. And the game, the margins get tiny, tiny, tiny. But I did come out of that and think, no, they really, this is really good, this is a Super Bowl capable trophy team. That's what it feels. We know Detroit is. We know Kansas City is. You know, I'm having my doubts now every week on Baltimore. We may just have three teams capable of hoisting a trophy. We know Detroit's good enough. They're steamrolling people. We know Kansas City, situationally, brilliant. And I watched Buffalo yesterday, and I'm like, they don't steamroll you,

but they have their moments when they got a little Detroit, and they were pretty good situationally. I think this is the third team, Buffalo, that can hoist a trophy. I mean, we may only have three. Okay, so last night was crazy. Chargers beat the Bengals 3427. So I was watching this game, what you witnessed, was two kind of funky franchises, the Bengals and the Chargers historically. and what you saw in the first half was a quarterback put on a clinic.

And then what you saw in the second half was the other quarterback put on a clinic. In the first half, Justin Herbert was insane. 240 yards. I mean, he's got very little to work with, receiver and tied in. Two touchdowns, 153 pass are ready. 71% completion percentage. 24-6 at half. I kept thinking in the first half, Jesus.

Herbert is so good. He makes Joe Burrell look pedestrian. He was that good in the first half. just absolutely on fire. And then in the second half, Joe Burrell may have been better. Joe Burrow was so good. In the second half, I thought, good God. Joe Burrow was so good.

He makes Justin Herbert look pedestrian. It was MJ against the Blazers. Burrow made two or three the best plays I've seen a quarterback make all year. Three touchdowns, no picks, 273 yards, 104 passer rating. Now, he's got more stuff to work with. But what you're looking at with Herbert and Burrow, they're similar in some ways. smart guys, but Herbert's a power quarterback.

He's a bigger, stronger power thrower. Joe has a little better touch, a little more clever, can be a little bit more creative. They're both unbelievable. They're both bright kids, workaholics. They're not looking for a lot of love in the endorsement game. Oh, I guess this year Joe Burroughs season went to a fashion show. And he's got the little stuff in his hair.

but in the end, I'm sitting there thinking, unless you have a Holmes, Josh Allen. Last night, I'm sitting on a couch thinking, man, 90% of the teams in this league, fans in this league, GMs in this league, owners in this league, had to have quarterback envy watching these two teams play. And then Herbert dominates the first half, just like jaw dropping. Like, good God. And then Burrow may have been better in the second half. And then all of a sudden we're all tied up. And they go back and they ping pong and they've allie.

ball it and they go back and forth and nobody can win and eventually it wasn't herbert or borough it was justin herbert a team teammate j k dobbins gave him some help peeled off the big run down the left sideline this is a game the la chargers the san diego chargers the carson chargers would have lost the last 40 years and somehow harbaugh and herbert great coach and quarterback never wobbled, never wobbled. You know it and I know it. There's a term called chargering. And I'm sitting there watching this and I'm like, no, no, no, I saw this happen seven times last year. I don't want to see this.

I'm getting, you know, it was nothing against Joe Burrow. He was incredible. But I thought to myself, they're going to lose this thing, aren't they? And they didn't. And they're not going to. Because that's what Harbaugh and Herbert, you know it. You know it. You said it for years. God, you could just get

Justin Herbert the coach and the culture. If you could just get Justin the protection. And they have and they have and they have and they won and here's the coach after. You guys just don't, you know,

didn't flinch, didn't buckle, didn't even stumble. Just just kept right at it and responded. I've been to this movie a few times. So I know what it looks like and yeah there's no nobody we'd rather have we just feel like we got the right guys listen that the chargers still need they're not quite buffalo they still need to me another

playmaker or two offensively the bingles need more defense um but um um the chargers are very close to being exceptional and maybe lad mcconkey grows they'll have to be totally healthy They're not deep enough yet where they can be missing like Buffalo, three offensive starters and still get almost 400 yards against the Chiefs. But that win wasn't about the yards. And it was about a game they dominated. It evaporated. It was tied.

Burrow was on fire. That game was a loss the last 40 years. And there was something about resilience, a little old word moxie, toughness mentally, not just physically, and they pulled it out. For a Charger fan, it felt like it's a new day. Same roster as last year, overwhelmingly. Totally new team. Totally new vibe.

Totally new feeling. And I want to say this, in a losing effort, Burrow was insane. I mean, some of those throws Joe Burrow made were as good a plays as I've seen all year. That includes Mahomes, Lamar, Justin, Jalen Hertz. I mean, he was just spitting. I mean, some of these throws don't even, just everything worked. Everything clicked.

The real winner beyond the Chargers last night was fans. That was a great showcase, an incredible showcase, of what a great quarterback can do to a franchise. Because Cincinnati's been cheap forever, and the Chargers have been funky forever. And instead, you've got a great game. One team dominates one half. One dominates the other.

And then in the end, Harbaugh Herbert figure out a way to pull out a W. By the way, you know I love Lamar Jackson. I'll get to that in a second. There is something about the Steelers and Lamar Jackson. It goes sideways every time they play. And I can't quite figure it out. I'll try to guess around the corner. Drew Breeze, one hour from now, actually, 45 minutes from now.

It was a fun weekend. I had a feeling. I'd said this Friday in Blazing Five. I didn't love this. I thought Cincinnati desperate and that playmaking offense, well, it was great. It just wasn't great until the second half. Like Cincinnati was a little bit shell-shocked. They couldn't make stops.

They couldn't get the offense going. Cincinnati was completely out of sorts in the entire first half. Didn't we talk about the Chargers last week as a potential, scary team in the AFC? That's a team I know we love the Chiefs and Andy Reid here at this network, but I like this Chargers team a lot.

You know I love Lamar Jackson.

You know I defend him to the end of the earth. And he's easy to defend. He's great. except against Kansas City in Pittsburgh. He is 65 and 18 against the league. He's lost once to an NFC team in like 25 games, and yet he's two and nine against the Steelers and Chiefs, Superman's Kryptonite.

And he has these, and I don't know, it's him, it's the Ravens, they lose their identity. Whenever he plays the Steelers and the Chiefs, he gets too frenetic. He doesn't trust himself. He's trying too hard. loses composure and they bailed on their identity this is a run leaning operation and yesterday they throw 33 passes and run 19 times and where's derrick henry where's derrick henry in the fourth

quarter what in the hell's going on every time i watch baltimore against everybody else they walk in take their shirt off and like power team it's like 1970s at venice beach we're going to do lifting weights in front of everybody just a big muscle show power in your faith and then they play pittsburgh and then they play kansas se and then they play kansas city and they're like, well, we like to pass. That's fine. But your identity, your identity back to Ray Lewis, Baltimore's a tough city, you're a tough team, you control the tempo, you lose your way, and there is something about Lamar in these games. And like Derek Henry disappears in the fourth and they're throwing too much. And it was a one possession game. Like Pittsburgh gave

you opportunities to win. Russell Wilson, through maybe his worst pick in several years. Naji Harris averaged 3.5 yards of carry. It's not like Pittsburgh got into any rhythm. I didn't think either quarterback played particularly well. It was there for the taking, but the Steelers didn't lose their identity. The Steelers we've watched for the last four weeks didn't play particularly well on offense, but it was the same team.

Baltimore, what are we doing? I mean, and I think here's the other thing. And I said this Friday, I had picked the Steelers to win this game on Friday, Blazing 5. I said there's just something, the more you play Lamar, the better feel you have form. And I think you noticed it. I'm sure you noticed it on the two-point conversion. I think Lamar Jackson's about the most guaranteed two-point conversion in the league. But when the Steelers play him, did you notice how before the ball was snapped? They had a lot of their best athletes on the perimeter. It's like, yeah, we know what he does. You snap it to Lamar, and he's just going to head

to the exits. And Pittsburgh was sitting there waiting. And maybe It was my eyes playing tricks on me, but I watched right before the snap, I like, oh, Pittsburgh has seen this. They know how to defend Lamar here because they face him two times a year. And they win virtually every time. And Lamar is Superman. The Chiefs and specifically the Steelers, I mean, his passer rating goes to 103 against the world and 74 against the Steelers.

And again, Russell had one big plate of pickings. I mean, Russell's doing it. He knows who to throw to. but they did not play a great football game. Steelers, though, have beaten them eight and nine times, and they keep them in the pocket, and they make him be poised, and they force him to be patient,

and there's something about the Steelers. It's just Lamar starts going 100 miles an hour, and he's like the identity of the organization. They're not quite sure or as confident as they were against everybody else, and I watched it again yesterday. I keep thinking it's not going to happen. Shame on me. I'm like, no, this time's different.

It's never different against the Steelers. It's just not different. And Pittsburgh always plays coy going into the game. We call them Mr. Jackson around here. No, you can call them Lamar. I mean, because you guys play them better than anybody else in the world. So you can call them whatever you want. But this is now, I don't feel that Kansas City is in Buffalo's head.

I think Kansas City has been better situationally than Buffalo in close games. But I don't think they're in Buffalo's head. Buffalo beats them in the regular season. I didn't think when I watch Buffalo, Kansas City, I'm like, Buffalo's confident. Buffalo's not losing their identity. They gave the ball to Josh Allen, go be great. But Baltimore not only shrinks, they forget who they are, and here's Lamar after. We had a lot of slow starts.

If anything, you know, a lot of penalties, three turnovers, stuff like that we can't have in these type of games. It's been that way for ever since last year, I believe, you know, going back to the as a championship. game we killed ourselves. Chief's game, the opener, we killed ourselves. Raiders, we killed ourselves. And today, same thing. It's just like we can't be beating ourselves in these type of games. You got to find a way to fix that. A lot was written and said about that offense coming into this game, and rightfully so, man, they're got a lot of talent, they got a lot of weapons, they got good schematics. Our guys played hard and together. And, man, I'm appreciative of that.

I got to tell you something. Mike Tomlin's the coach of the year. Now, Sean Peyton has done incredible things in Denver. Sean Payton would have made by runner-up. But Mike Tomlin's had a great year. This has not been easy. You know, when you're 8 and 3, you've got a winning record and everybody, everything's rolling. No, it's not. Go ask Jim Harbor on the Chargers.

You're battling through injuries. You're battling, you know, the media is on you. Mike Tomlin pulled Justin Fields. I mean, here's a prime example of yesterday. Pittsburgh gave Baltimore opportunities. They bring Justin Fields in, and he's to get a big first down, and he slides early. Like Pittsburgh's game was not clean. It was not a clean game by Pittsburgh.

But you know what? In this matchup, and it matters, there were a lot of good teams. I mean, you know, in Tom Brady or Peyton Manning's career, a big part of everything is dominate your division. Peyton Manning did. Brady did. You know, Aaron Rogers in Green Bay didn't.

He lost half the games to Kirk Cousins. And Baltimore's had, Old Big Ben. They've had Trubisky. They've had Justin Fields. They have Russell Wilson. And Mike Tomlin has just kept this puppy together. He's had a great year coaching.

Keep your eye on Sean Payton. Because right now, Bo Nix, and I'm not joking when I say this, Bo Nix, the last seven games, has been the best of the rookie quarterbacks. But Tomlin, as of this morning, he'd get my vote coach of the year. And J. Mack with the news. No, no, no, no. Turn on the news. This is the herd line news.

Hitchburg gave them opportunities. They did. They did. Well, speaking coach of the year, how about Dan Campbell? Does he get a vote? The Lions, Colin. Oh, my gosh. Obliterated the Jaguars 52 to 6 yesterday. You combined that with the KC lost to Buffalo, and the new favorites to win the Super Bowl are the Detroit Lions. Colin, this is the first time in franchise history. They are the favorite to win the Super Bowl at plus 350. First seven drives. First seven drives. Touched.

I mean, it's... The Jags have quit. We know that. No question. But we keep saying this. Like when they beat the Titans, the Titans are competitive against everybody. They weren't against the Lions.

So it's easy to just say, well, they keep beating like the Titans. I'm watching the Titans play every week. They're in every game. They weren't in that one. They got beat by 30. This team's, you know, we say this before. The Lions have the best personnel in the league. The Chiefs are the best situationally,

but the best quarterback coach. And Buffalo's a little of both. They have really good offensive personnel, and it looks, and a superstar quarterback, and a good coach, and they're pretty good situationally. But I think we have to acknowledge. Detroit's got the best personnel in the league, J-Mack, and it may be, it feels like San Francisco about three years ago, when everybody that played San Francisco the following week lost. Yeah. Like, you play Detroit. They don't just beat you. They beat you up.

Yeah. I mean, it's disappointing what's happening in Jacksonville, but they're done. And seeing Detroit just totally handle them. 645 yards of total offense. I mean, every, so they ran, I think, 76 plays. Every time they touch the ball, they average 8.5 yards per play for the whole game. And they were barely passing in the fourth quarter, Colin. Like, this is a juggernaut.

I don't see how anybody thinks they're not the favorites. They are, yeah. Now, will they win the Super Bowl's a different question, should they be the favorites? Because that defense, you know, there's still some problems there. It's not going to show up against Mac Jones and the Titans a couple weeks ago. But I like the Lions a lot, Colin. and I'll be surprised if they're not in the Super Bowl. You know, it's the position on the football field we don't talk about, offensive line.

But there are only been two or three great offensive lines in the last 10 to 15 years in the NFL. This may be the best of all of them. It's very close to that Dallas O line that Dak, when Dak came in as a rookie and went 13 and 3, and they had Zeke. It didn't matter. 60 million people watched on Netflix, a lot of technical issues, shall we say. But after Paul beat Tyson, the YouTuber said that Iron Mike is the goat, and then Mike Tyson proceeded to challenge Jake Paul's brother, Logan Paul, to a fight. Yeah.

Forget the age for a second, because I saw an old George Foreman do pretty cool things. Mike Tyson lost half his blood in late July. I mean, he almost died. I think if this fight's in March, but they wanted to speed it up, right? So they put it in November. I think if this fight's in March, you know, Mike almost died.

The first couple rounds, you're like, okay, it's interesting. By the third round, you're like, oh, Mike's legs are done. He's done, yeah. He looked like an old quarterback. Like Mike didn't have anything left. And I think Jake Paul, let me defend Jake Paul. So you guys can all say what you want about Jake Paul, but I've said from the very beginning,

It's a redeemable career. He works hard. He's into the craft. I totally respect him. Is he a natural fluid all-Lee? Like, no, that's not what he is. And he probably didn't have the toughness historically of a Joe Frazier or the gifts of Lennox Lewis. Hardworking kid.

He's figured out a brand. Go find older big-name fighters. He wants Connor McGregor next. He just had Tyson. He went after a UFC guys. It's a brand. Like, I'm going to go fight older guys with big names. get in their ear, challenge them, mock them, everybody comes in.

But I will say this. I don't think he's a great fighter. Yeah. But he did his job. Tyson didn't have much. You know, Netflix is just trying to figure out exactly sports. What was his job? Don't hurt the old guy?

Well, no, no. That's what it felt like. But his job changed in the middle of the fight. Jake Paul knew about the fourth, fifth round. I could hurt him. And Jake Paul had the self-awareness to go. nobody in America wants to see me hurt

Mike Tyson and I'm going to tell you a lot of guys get in a ring and they don't think like that Jake Paul sensed nobody wants to see we all love the old time listen Tyson has his critics

but the old legends in sports you got a soft spot in your heart for them and I think Jake Paul knew I could literally in my career knocking him out and being a jerk do you hear him after the fight Jake Paul was like he's a legend he's the goat

so much respect back. It almost did it not feel, I don't want to say staged or a little, but after you're right, after the first two rounds, hey, Tyson has a chance. I think he hit him with a good left. He did. Oh, oh, okay. No, no, late third, it was like Mike's legs are done. They're done. And then Tyson starts with biting the gloves, and he's clearly not, his head, legs, he had nothing going. I am on your point on Jake Paul. So this is a guy who's not fighting any technical boxers. Nobody's been, you know, in their prime. He's basically finding guys who have cloud. social media following, and he's selling the fight that way.

So he's a pretty good businessman. Can I give him that? And timing is everything. Like he could not have come. Jake Paul could not have been trying to do this crap in the 90s against like Evander Well, because in the 90s we had, I mean, if you go back, when I was a kid growing up, it was like Ali, Frazier, Ernie Schavers, Foreman. Then later Larry Holmes, there were just, I mean, you could just go Ron Lyle.

There was, oh, even the guys that were like second tier guy, Ken Norton, there were like seven How in the world can I name all of them? Because boxing had a bigger hold on America. But the great athletes now, a lot of them, let's be honest, if you want to get in the fight game, you go to UFC. That's where you go now. And UFC's a much better run business than boxing is. That's why it's basically most of us don't watch boxing. We watch UFC.

You know, they know how to run a card. Certainly. Final story is some breaking news from this morning. Colin, the Daniel Jones era is over in New York. Ryan Dable announced he's switching quarterbacks. They called it a necessary move. We know this is all about financials. And instead of Drew Locke, Tommy DeVito will be QB1.

I like this. Oh, stop. I do. Drew Locke is the backup. So that means Daniel Jones is now going to be inactive every week. They're doing it because if he gets hurt, he's guaranteed $23 million, something like that. Tommy DeVito had the New York fans all worked up. He was a great story.

We have seen what just a coach did to golf's career and just a coach has done to Justin Herbert's career. Well, look what a quarterback and a coach did to Houston. Houston was in a far worse situation than New York. They had a left tackle and a bunch of nonsense and a kooky owner. And overnight, Houston got the right quarterback and you're like, oh, Houston's viable. So, I mean, the Giants have like five of the seven things you need. They got to get a better running game and they got to get a better quarterback. Left tackle, pass rusher, weapon, coach.

I like it. It would be something interesting. If the Giants get the number one pick, the Jets end up with like two or three. and Aaron Rogers is like I'm coming back. Do what Sean Payton's doing with Boe Nix. Screen up some layups. And that allowed him to. to be the great athlete he is. So the Bears were better. They got the ball out quickly. It was like, oh, the offensive coordinator who came with a dicey reputation, he was the problem. It looked like a real team.

I mean, they dominated time of possession. I mean, Green Bay is excellent. Green Bay is a top ten organization. They're a top three organization in the last 20 years. And they've dominated this organization in Chicago. Chicago outplayed him. Chicago's offense with a rookie quarterback. Look pretty good.

They dominate time of possession. They were very good on third down. They did everything right. But this is where we saw it in the Hail Mary. Close game. This isn't college football. Most teams aren't the lions where they're bulldozing people. It comes down to a series of situational, circumstantial moments.

This is very interesting. A reporter, I imagine, I don't know who the reporter is, Kaelin Kailer, said, Just talked to several players on the Packers' Field Goal Unit. All of them noticed that Bears kicker, Cairo Santos, kicked with a low trajectory. So the Packers thought the Bears would run an extra play to get closer so the kicker for the Bears wouldn't have to really drive the ball with a lower trajectory. So once again, the Packers knew the Bears kicker better than apparently the Bears knew the tendencies of the Bears kicker. The Packers thought, as the Bears got the ball three minutes left, they drove down,

they could have run an extra play, get four to five, six yards closer, Right? And so it's more of a pop kick than a low, you know, it's like hitting an iron and golf. The further back you go, the trajectory is often lower for a lot of kickers. So the Bears apparently didn't watch the same film that the Packers watched. And we said this on the Hail Mary. You got that bear guy playing around, John with fans, details. Kansas City, details, Buffalo details.

This is not college football. football. Chicago outplayed him. Chicago dominates time of possession. Yards, third down. Chicago is a better team. The only thing you can take from it is we'll get a better draft pick and for sure, this is another, look what the staff did. But the Hail Mary

play, which shouldn't have happened and that, which shouldn't have happened, that's the difference between six and four, the city's alive, and you're very much in the playoff race and four and six and now you're the Cowboys of the

States. Two plays. End of the game. Details. My entire life I've seen this. It doesn't matter if it's my business, your business. The best bosses pay attention to the little stuff. Because the little stuff becomes bigger stuff

and can become a huge abscess. Like that Hail Mary, that was a sign. These guys aren't buttoned up. Washington was buttoned up. You think the Hail Mary's

luck. No, it's not. You think blocking kicks the week before. Kansas City did it on Denver. It's not luck. It is coaching. It is film study. It is preparation. The Packers said, you know, we thought they were going to, you know, gain their six yards. Then you can make it more of a pooch kick.

So here's Matt Eberfluse after. They were low in the box here. You know, so you could say you could do that for sure. Maybe get a couple more yards, but jawscore risk, you know, fumbling and different things there. We felt where we were, you know, if we at the 36 or 35, you know, you're definitely doing that because you want to get it inside there.

I felt very confident where we were at that time. Yeah, and they felt really comfortable on that Hail Mary, too. Well, you get a better draft pick. All right, for the last, like, five or six years, we've kind of looked at the San Francisco 49ers, the way we look at Detroit now. Like, they got more good dudes. But I had said coming into the season, I said, you guys, they're getting old, they're getting banged up and they're getting expensive

and Brock Purdy's fine it may look like a great roster and right now you don't need Brock Purdy to be great but today they do and he's fine and that's all the 49ers are they're just fine they're a 500 team remember their defense used to be great

especially situationally now it's the second worst to the Cincinnati Bengals in the league in the final two minutes of the fourth quarter their red zone offense pedestrian they don't fool people They don't overpower people. Gino Smith looked very comfortable driving Seattle down the field. I mean, as I was watching that, I'm like, yeah,

Gino's been in this spot many times. Big kid, good arm, can move. But Gino look comfortable. And it happens in the NFL. We say this very quickly. A lot of times in the NBA, if a dynasty breaks up or its egos or its contracts, like it looks like Boston, the Celtics will have like a four-year run here of being great. But eventually somebody will get too old.

They'll move somebody off. You kind of keep your core. You move the pieces. but in football you're getting tackled. And so, I mean, that Seahawk dynasty got old fast, right? Or Harbaugh leaves, doesn't get along with the general manager, leaves, goes to Michigan, and all of a sudden you hire somebody, and it goes into the tank because football's the one sport where coaching matters.

This is not a knock on Kyle Shanahan, although I didn't think he's had a great couple of weeks of coaching. And once again, San Francisco's special teams, I mean, just close your eyes, cross your fingers, and pray if you're a Bay Area football fan. Just, I mean, it's not great. Just pray this isn't the week it beat you again. But everybody kept saying, I was one of these, wait until Christian McCaffrey gets back. He's the magic. He's back.

No touchdowns. Two games. Red zone offense, still just nothing. And they have not beaten a team of the winning record. They're just another team with a really big brand, cool uniforms. But here's a prime example. Christian McCaffrey comes back. Oh, now George Kittles missing.

Well, of course he is. And George is great. but man NFL old expensive banged up it happens really fast and this is one of the ones we predicted I said at the end of last year they're just missing guys too often it's Trent it's George it's Debo it's Christian I'm not blaming him it's football but and Brock Purdy is fine he's fine but that's all the Niners are now they're fine you watch Detroit Buffalo Kansas City that's Pittsburgh that's not what they are they were are better, but that's not what they are. And here's Gino Smith. Say what you will. He's been in this

spot a lot. For the record, J-Mack, just out of Arizona and Seattle. Both went to Santa Clara and won. It's not happenstance. It's not bad breaks. San Francisco's just okay. Here's Gino after. So now it goes, now it's at Buffalo. So San Francisco now is at Buffalo, Chicago, L.A., at Miami, long trip. Detroit, that's an L. at Arizona. One, two, three, four, five, six. Let's say they win three of them. What are they? I mean, what, what? Yeah.
