Greg Olson will stop by and unravel that debacle in Dallas. That's what it should be titled from this point forward. The debacle in Dallas. J-Mack, 27-0 at one point.

I mean, I am sitting there jaw on the floor. I'm like, listen, I like Green Bay in the points. But that result. I didn't see that coming. Did anyone? They were down 48 to 16 in the fourth quarter. At home, Colin. Like, just let that sink.

So I defended Mike McCarthy all season long. his resume, it does. Regular season, postseason. It lines up with John Harbaugh. But I did say, okay, he's got to beat Green Bay. I figured they would. Kind of comfortably.

To get routed, down 27 to nothing at one point, first half, at home by the youngest playoff team with a first year starting quarterback, okay, now we have to have a completely different conversation. opinions change when results are jarring

by the second drive analyst Greg Olson was appropriately asking about personnel packages head scratching stuff play selection defensive alignment I mean and everybody in can we have a real

conversation now can we get uncomfortable although it's like an adult conversation about the evaluation of DAC he's now two and five in the playoffs and you watched he and Jordan Love. It wasn't even close. Jordan Love's just a better player. Have you never seen those two quarterbacks ever

play? You land on planet Earth and you watch the game. Dak, the eight-year veteran, looked rattled and anxious and nervous and rattling, inaccurate. His ball placement was mostly awful. Seedy Lamb could feel it. And he had the better

old line. He was at home. He'd been in this situation before. He had a number one receipt. If Jerry Jones wants to pay Dack like Mahomes and he does, my question is, how good of a job is this? Dax cap hit next year is $59.5 million. If you're paying a slightly better than average quarterback, $59.5 million, you're not a legitimate Super Bowl team. Yeah, I got reeled by this team for the first time in two decades. But I mean, the playoffs create clarity and truth.

Stafford, Gough, Mahomes, Jordan Love, C.J. Stroud were all really, really good. Why? Because they're really, really talented, some sooner than we thought. But let's be honest about the Cowboys this morning. Blown out by San Francisco couldn't compete. Blown out by Buffalo didn't really compete. blown out by the young Packers couldn't really compete, beaten by that fraud, Miami, and the only reason they beat playoff Detroit

was an officiating technicality. You could argue they were outplayed. They're just an average team. And I got fooled, and I usually don't. I've said for decades on radio and TV, pretty good. Tony Romo's pretty good. Dax's pretty good. Cowboys pretty good.

Jason Garrett, Mike McCart, pretty good. That is my default answer for the Cowboys. But for about a six-game stretch, as they beat up on bad teams and looked really, really good, I thought, okay, this is the year. And then they went to Miami, gagged it away, and I came on the year of the next day and said, yeah, my bad. I got reeled in. Cowboy hype, my bad.

But they need to get smarter at head coach. I mean, they weren't prepared. They're lined up in the wrong spots. I mean, Greg Olson's second series. They're just lined up in the wrong spots. dumb special teams place, they have to get smarter at head coach. And they've got to rework, at least rework Dax contract. Give them some money up front.

And they have to start drafting quarterbacks every year. They have to. Colin, calling the opinion. Opinions change when results are jarring. Trailing 27 nothing at home. Jordan loves first playoff appearance. Green Bay's got kids all. over that offense.

Green Bay's on the road, a big underdog. It can't look like that. It can't look like that. And it's not just McCarthy. Take out that win over Tampa in the playoffs. That shaky Tampa team.

Dax 1 in 5. And did not look like when you watch the top quarterbacks this weekend, he was not one of them. C.J. Stroud, significantly better. Jordan Love, significantly more nimble and accurate. Jerry and Dak after.

I can't reach back and look at the playoff loss, but this seems like the most painful because we all had such great expectation and we had hope for this team. and thought that we were aligned in a great shape and great shape. And it didn't happen for us. I sucked tonight, though. That was it.

As I said, got it going a little bit late, but none of that mattered at that point. And fault, that's all I really know how to do. But, yeah, I mean, it's about winning. And it's about winning and winning in the playoffs and getting to the last game and winning that as well. And yeah, tough. It's not just about winning.

It's about looking like you belong at home. 4816, 27-0. You were never winning. How about just competing? Stacking up. Really bad. Changes need to be made. Let's talk Packers.

That's more joy. I have never seen in my life an in-season improvement of a quarterback ever like Jordan Love. From week eight at home against the Vikings, October 29th, can't play. Can't play. Coaching staff ripping him after the game. Two, you know, he's better than Aaron Rogers. I mean, Matt LaFleure has done an unbelievable job. 21 TDs one pick in the last nine games, completing over 71% of his throws.

Athleticism, confidence, accuracy. That by-week renovation is unbelievable. He literally went from Can't Make the Cut at the Valero Open to leading the Masters by nine strokes on Saturday in about four weeks. I've never seen anything like it. Now, this is what great offensive coaches often do with this. young quarterbacks. Big leaps.

But from that to this, I'm not exaggerating. He's cheaper than Aaron. He's more athletic than Aaron. He gets along with his young receivers better. There's no drama. And let's just add this. He may throw it better than Aaron.

Now, all people, all kids age at different speeds. And Green Bay was very frustrated with him. I know you're all experts, but, you know, let's not revise history. He was bad. Bad. I was looking at stats this morning. Before the buy, he was completing a T-Bow level, 55% of his throws and a 77 pass-er rating.

That's what he was. After the buy, he's like far in his prime. 68% completion percentage and 106 pass-a-rating. And the Packers got frustrated. They were critical of him. They were upset with him. But they were also patient, and this is what Green Bay does. And then you add in the drafting of these tight ends and these wide receivers.

Listen, this is not just Dallas played poorly. That's not just what this is. Green Bay is a problem. I've talked to general managers for the last three or four years. Nobody can get a second good corner. Green Bay's got five receivers I like and two tight ends, and they're not paying any of them. Which means they can go buy other pieces. They are a match-up problem.

Those young receivers, I mean, yesterday, Jaden Reed didn't even have a catch. He's the most talented one they have. So, Farr to Rogers, to Jordan Love. I mean, that's like, I mean, that's three hole and ones in the same tournament. Like, that's incredible. Never seen anything like it. I mean, we thought Montana to Steve Young to Jeff Garcia was pretty good. I mean, this is incredible.

And what I love about this is that what makes sport so great are not just the upsets, but it's the player development. Listen to even Matt LaFleur can't quite wrap his brain around what he saw. Jordan Love, wow. That's about all I can say. Be it is wow. What he did and the poise he shows, the command he shows. It just shows the growth that he's had from his first start versus KC to now. Just so proud and happy for him.

He is, he is a dude. He is a real dude. When the coach who sees him, teaches him, mentors him every day at practice, is doing that. Like, wow. Like he surprised everybody. But this is what Green Bay does. It's what hardworking kids do.

It's what great offensive coaches who have a sensibility and feel for it have proven time and time again. But this is not, don't take this as, hey, Dallas just played poorly. Now, Green Bay is a problem. Green Bay is going to be a problem for that division and that conference and this league for a long time. There is a cornerback shortage in this league. Green Bay has got a surplus of offensive talent. When Jaden Reed doesn't even have a catch, and you're like, their fourth guy is a hard matchup. That was impressive.

Colin right, calling wrong, 45 minutes from now. Greg Olson stops by. I mean, you go from, after that first drive, I was like, man, that was kind of easy. And then there's the Jaya Alexander pick. And then there's another touchdown, and you're like, oh, wait, their Green Bay's got more good players. and a better coach and a significantly better quarterback. You don't do that on the road.

That's not bad officiating, fluke, lack of preparation. Green Bay, the growth from week 8-9 to this, they are a significantly better team than Dallas. There's no luck involved. They were a match-up problem all day. First quarter, second, third, fourth. This wasn't like, we got caught by surprise. It was a left hook.

12 rounds of getting your butt kicked. Yeah. The Cowboys were the team with nine all pros, Colin? Where were they on the field? Micah Parsons was on a milk cart. Didn't do a damn thing all game. Here's a stat. I just saw this.

So the Packers' first seven offensive drives against Dan Quinn's mighty defense. Six touchdowns. And guys are wide open all over the place. I know people are bagging on McCarthy and everybody wants to hammer Dack. What happened to Dan Quinn? What was he doing? Building a staff for a Seattle team that he's going to be coaching next thing? They made adjustments at half.

It didn't matter. They didn't have good enough players to defend Green Bay. Like, it's one thing. The Rams made alterations on the Lions and slowed their offense down a little bit. No, Dallas tried with Dan Quinn. Could not stop them. Geron Bland, first team all pro quarterback. I mean, just destroyed.

One of the reasons I never pay much attention to fans when they complain about the officials is because fans get the whistle all the time and never want to acknowledge it, but they're upset when it goes against them. First of all, I'm happy for Detroit. I thought it would be a close game.

It was. I'm very happy for Detroit. Wife from there. I like Jared Goff. I think it's a great story. I'm a Michigan fan, lions. We picked them to win the division. But it should be noted.

That no call on the shot to the head of Matt Stafford was an egregious miss. Light pushes have been called all year. And then they stepped on him. That in 2020 in the playoffs, that not being called is an egregious miss. And then there's no call on the Puka interference where they

grabbed and hit him early. Be that and that, again, that's a no-brainer too. But you're on the road. You're not going to get every call. Be that as it may. These were misses. You got to acknowledge it. You wind and complain about Dallas.

You got two major officiating breaks. to me the story of the game was the first half in the red zone. In the red zone, the Rams couldn't get touchdowns. The Lions did and earn them because Ben Johnson's a great coordinator. Their O-lines top two in the league. I love their personnel. Lions have better players than the Rams. I think the Rams quarterback and coach are better,

but the Lions won the first half with 375-yard touchdown drives. If you do that at home in a playoff game, you're going to win 99% of them. In the second half, the Rams staff, a great staff, made adjustments, and the Lions went from three touchdowns to a field goal. From seven and a half yards of play to less than four. Three touchdowns to zero. So this game was the Lions play calling, play design, Ben Johnson, O-line, Goff, taking a lead and holding on for dear life.

But let's talk about the good things about Detroit. Unlike Dallas and Miami, they're not a fraud. They're imperfect. but they're not a fraud. They play with an aggressiveness. Jared Goff's been crapped on in his career. So is Dan Campbell. And so they play with a chip on their shoulder.

And don't forget, these guys started out 419 and 1. So Jared Goff got blamed for everything in L.A. He goes to Detroit and gets the crap beat out of him behind a bad old line. Dan Campbell, eye roll, opening press conference, 419 and 1. So these guys play with a chip on their shoulder, a mile long, and it's fun, and they're aggressive. And they're built a fence around it, and they're easy to root for. Both have been doubted in their career. The star of this team, and I've talked about this many times, is the front office.

Wide receiver, tight end, linebacker, O line, pass rushers. Man, they got dudes everywhere, and they're not even paying them yet. They're not even, they're like Green Bay, all their best players. even paying them yet. So the lines and the Packers are going nowhere. Now, Matt Stafford is incredible. Matt Stafford with a lump on his hand, put on one of the most courageous playoff performances, that guy is sick. Matt Stafford is filthy. I hope he's not thinking about retirement because that was, I was, again, jaw on the floor with some of that stuff. But this is a Detroit team that's imperfect. They had to hold on for dear life, but they're not a fraud.

it's absolutely a better roster than the RAM tremendous O-line very good very good quarterback and Jared Goff and they're going to be around for a long time because everybody's got a chip on their shoulder everybody was kind of ignored and that stuff doesn't go away and here was Dan Campbell after

we got the winner at Tampa and Philly which is tomorrow we'll be here 3 o'clock back at Ford Field because you got earned it through how electric was it out there I'm telling you what it doesn't get any better It's everything you dream up It didn't more

All right That's outstanding work I just say it like this You're good enough Detroit Detroit was favored They should have been favored I think they're the better team

They had a dominating first half held on Got a couple of breaks So what? You're at home You earned it You usually get those at home But again

When I look at Detroit There's nothing here that I think to myself, it's fools gold. And I watched Dallas the end of the year and yesterday, a lot of fools gold. I don't see any of that with Detroit.

I don't know how they line up with a San Francisco, a Baltimore eventually. I don't know the answer to that. I wouldn't want to have to play Green Bay again. But that was earned. It's a great story. And you don't have a heart

if you don't like what's happening for all those long-suffering Detroit sports fans. shock. The worst NBA team is the Pistons. Between Michigan and the Lions, this state, and it's football, they've earned all of it.

Tip of the cap. Jay Mack with the news. No, no, no, no, turn on the news. This is the herd line news. Let's go back to the Dallas Cowboys and Mike McCarthy, watch Colin, hey, you know, we've been on this for a while. McCarthy's got to deliver in the playoffs, and he

has not his future in Dallas. Big time, question mark about that after the game both DAC and Jerry Jones spoke about the uncertainty surrounding McCarthy's job. In that case, it should be about me as well, honestly. I mean, that guy, I've had the season

that I've had because of him. This team's had the success that they've had because of him. And I understand it's about winning the Super Bowl and that's the standard of the league and damn sure the standard of this place. So I get it, but

add me to the list in that case. A lot of things to reflect on, but I haven't done that at all. And I haven't reflected at all on anything about coaching or any of that. And we just are amazed that we're sitting here without another game this coming weekend. I am. You know, it's interesting. So, DAC says, J-Mack, Dax says, hey, I had the year I had due to Mike. So let's be honest about that.

So DAC was blown out by Buffalo, Green Bay, and the Niners. Three best teams they played. DAC wasn't great in any of them. DAC wasn't great. Outplayed statistically by Tua in a loss in Miami. Dak beats Detroit, completes 10 passes, and has two picks. What kind of year to DAC have? When you really line it up, if we're going to judge quarterbacks,

I mean, wasn't Mahomes terrific in a big game or CJ Stroud? Let's not judge quarterbacks against losing franchise. against the best teams they play. He had a good regular season. He had a good team all pro, Colin. His second team all pro, going to the voters. Josh Allen didn't make Pro Bowl. I'm just saying the voters, the guys who cover the league.

The voters. Okay. I'm just saying, let's size up his year. Niners, Buffalo, Greenback, Detroit, Miami. You're telling, okay, I want you to assign blame for the Cowboys' loss. And Dak Prescott's not number one or number two, Colin. He's not for that game yesterday. He was bad.

He wasn't great? I mean the final stats were padded in the fourth quarter? He wasn't great. He was really frustrated with... How many passes he dropped, too? I didn't think CD Lamb was amazing yesterday. And let's be real. This unnecessary pressure that Jerry Jones puts on this team

every week with these dumb radio interviews and these silly soundbites. That added pressure definitely had an impact on the team. They're not getting rid of Dak. They owe him too much money. No, no, they're not. But I'm saying, yeah, I mean, the head coach... Listen, we can't say in the same breath that quarterback's 75% of it, Brady Belichick. And then when you lose, say it's the coach.

Well, again, the Green Bay Packers had seven drives. They scored touchdowns on six of them. Yeah. We talk about this every week. This is an offensive league. I've got to stop hearing about this. Defense is great. Dallas had a top five defense according to every metric. Yeah. They got destroyed. The Packers average like eight yards of play. Well, we know this. I'm done hearing about this build around defense nonsense. But again, we're giving appropriately C.J. Stroud and Jordan loved the credit for their wins and Brady for the Belichick dynasty. That's fine. But then when you get crushed, you can't say, it's all the coach. Not all. No. It's like, I thought the coaching was poor. But again, if you're going to,

whoever's making the big money in the room is going to take the hit. We can't give quarterbacks the overwhelming praise and wins, which they deserve. Well, it depends how good there. I mean, again, you look at the final stats are good. By the way, McCarthy, that offense, like the game playing. You just watch it, come out, handoff, handoff. The Packers just went down the field, open the game. Ten play, 75 yards, touchdown.

And then McCarthy comes out with two handoffs and then gets a dachs scramble. You're like, what is this game plan? Ben Johnson, last night, what did the Lions do the first three times I got the football? Well, they were brilliant. Touchdown, touchdown, touchdown. No, there's no question. They won, Detroit won the game in the first half. Ben Johnson, first time calling a playoff game.

McCarthy won a Super Bowl. What kind of game plan was that? And again, I'm not giving Dak a pass. I just thought the coaching was... Yeah, they're not moving off, Dak. They own too much money. But I think McCarthy's gone. You've got to rework the deal.

But I think you, I do think... I mean, remember, Mike McCarthy, we have to be up front about this. Kind of lied to get the job. Yes. And it's been caught in a couple of dubious, sketchy, not totally upfront comments while he's had the job. I watched every play. So to me, Jerry's got to look at the mirror and go,

we're just not. Listen, every player that comes on this show says the same thing. There is a big difference between preseason, regular season, and playoffs. Dallas is not a good playoff team. Terrific in the weaker NFC in a division with Washington and dysfunctional New York. They're a good regular season team. But when you inspect the regular season, San Francisco, Miami, Detroit, Green Bay this weekend, You start looking at all of it and go, what did they?

Hey, they narrowly got past Seattle on Thursday night. Like, you start looking at a lot of their wins, and it's like it's for the dregs of the league. Fair or not. It's okay to judge people and give them big, fat contracts and awesome legacies off of playoff wins. The playoffs simply matter more, right? Yes. Okay, so Dallas can't get it done. You get a new coach.

Marty Schottnheim, remember, 14 and 2 with the Chargers. They got rid of him. They lose in the first round. North Turner comes in. They go to the AFC title game in the next. year. So I think McCarthy, and again, my opinion changed. I defended him when data is jarring. That was, that was not an overtime loss in a shootout. Jordan loves brilliant, officiating debacle. No, no, no, no, that's 27-0 at home. Ill-prepared. Game over. Yeah. We'll talk about whether

it's Belichick or Harbaugh later. Not now. Save it. Next up, CJ Stroud. Hey, this happened. This was the Saturday game, so we haven't done a lot on it. Probably won't. But Stroud was pretty damn great against Jim Schwartz's defense. I love watching him play. 274 yards, three touchdowns, no picks in the revenge game over the Browns. Listen, man, you look at these highlights. A lot of guys wide open against Cleveland, was not great for Jim Schwartz. Sometimes there are stats that I do not understand. How can Cleveland be an elite defense at home? And all season, horrid on the road. It's why we pick Houston Friday to win the game, is that Cleveland's defensive numbers collapse.

I have no idea why. But, I mean, they were picked apart by C.J. And let's remind everybody, what was the number two defense in the league, according to DVOA, the Cleveland Browns? So two top five defenses got shredded by first-time quarterbacks. Again, my New York Jets need a real look in the mirror this offseason about building around this defense. I love Slaus Gardner. I'm sorry. Building around defense, you're not going to win that way in the season.

the playoffs. It doesn't work. Final story, Jim Harbaugh is reportedly meeting with the Chargers today. Today. So you said he should get some time off. He had a few days off after the Natty. And now he starts interviewing. California, do a little Michigan recruiting. Go hang out in Laguna, Newport somewhere nice, stop by the Chargers office. Pop in, just say what's up. A decision is not expected to be made quickly. I do think the Dallas law significantly changes things for Harbaugh. both sides want to take their time the chargers there's a lot of smoke around them wanting ben johnson they're going to have to wait looks like probably two weeks now i think

lines are probably going to the nfc championship game um jim harball his price just went up by the way with this cowboys opening so did bellichicks you know so far i thought about you this weekend because you were on this belichick dallas thing and i'm like give me a break and then all of a sudden it was 27 nothing and i'm like belichick the dallas isn't his Looney is it? Well, if you

are Jerry Jones, do you want Hardball or do you want Belichael? I would take Hardball. Yeah, I don't even think it's a no-brainer. Yeah, offensive coach. He builds offensive. You know, you're going to have to figure, whoever you bring in is going to have to get the most out of DAC

because they're paying him 59.5 salary cap hit next year. You can't move off DAC. I think we have to have adult conversations about what he is. I would start drafting quarterbacks. Of course. Maybe not first round, but I would start drafting quarterbacks in Dallas. But the coach I'd move off of. You know, Dak, we have to be able to go, yeah, this is sort of what it is.

It's Kirk Cousins. You get to the playoffs and you're like, every year. Yeah. Yeah, that's what it is. It's what it is. It's what it is. If I'm Jerry Jones, honestly, and I know Harbaugh's out here in California, I'm on Jerry Jones.

I'm on the private jet out to California. I'm hunting down Harbaugh, cornering him and getting a deal done before he can sign anywhere else. I think Jones has to be active and aggressive here. there's a little divide within the Chargers organization. Again, this is why they... Wait, wait, wait, about Harbaugh? Not everybody is a Harbaugh advocate.

I'm just telling you what I've been told. Guy wins everywhere, I don't know. Yeah, it seems. I mean, once you get the quarterback coach right, you're going to win a bunch of games. They got the quarterback, so it doesn't seem difficult, but the Chargers can be disappointing and can flummox you from time to time,

can surprise us and frustrate us. and frustrate us. I've always said I've got so many friends who are charged. I have more charger friends than RAM fans. Really? Yeah, I do. I don't know why it is. It all winds up that way.

And they're always texting me for answers, and I'm like, I don't get it either. Some stuff is hard to explain. So if you're the Chargers, I got to be honest, I don't think Belichick is a good fit with the Char. I don't like that. No, no, no. I, I, yeah. Yeah, I think Harbaugh, in every case, is my choice. The L.A.

Also, never forget this. Belichick's weakness is draft. Harbaugh's strength for three years will be draft. Developing play. Yeah, I mean, he literally recruited. It's like Pete Carroll when he went to Seattle. He recruited all these guys. So for three years, whoever hires Harbaugh is going to win the draft. He is going to, I mean, he's going to work the draft. He'll probably go get Michigan guys, Ohio State guys. He knows who beat him. Who do we struggle with? What does the film say? It's a huge advantage. So if you need, and I don't think the chargers need a major. major rebuild, but they need to center. They're going to move off an edge rusher, got to get a safety, another receiver, a tight.

They got some needs. Who do you want? A guy that struggled in the draft, Belichick, or a guy that will ace it? I mean, if you traded down that first pick for the Chargers and accumulated more draft picks, you could make an argument in one draft. Pete Carroll did this with one early. Hit like on five lower, on one draft, Harbaugh could solve all the Chargers problems for about five years in one draft.

And frankly, in that division with Kansas City, where you could be going to a place. game in negative 20 degree weather. Jim Harbaugh toughness and that ethos that he brings in. Totally agree. It would be huge for the charges. Totally agree. They are a little bit soft, Colin.

Let's be real. A lot of the AFC teams that are really good, Buffalo, Baltimore, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Kansas City, now Cleveland. This weekend's weather is what you're getting. You better build your team to play in this stuff.

debut, Jordan Love and the upstart Packers take on Brock Purdy and the top seeded Niners. And the NFC divisional round, it all starts at 730 Eastern Saturday on box. Boy, do I like San Francisco in that game. with a brilliant offensive coach.

Green Bay played a lot of snaps, and that's a tough matchup. You come off the biggest win in your franchise in several years. So I like San Francisco in that matchup. God, football's so good. So 26 to 7, Kansas City over Miami, Miami had 13 first downs. So there's a difference between flawed.

Most teams are flawed, salary cap. side of Baltimore and San Francisco, you can pick holes and even the good teams. And fake, which is success based on circumstance. Dallas, bad teams at home. Miami playing in ideal conditions. Yes, at home when the weather is ideal against the bad team, the dolphins look like Mike Tyson at 23 years old. Clever, smart, fast, flashy.

But did they even compete against Kansas City? They no-show. I mean, they waved the white flag. in the second half. Bubble screens trailing by three touchdowns. It's kind of embarrassing. They look cold. They played cold. And one of the things I love about this business is when I'm right, I remind you, and when

I'm wrong, you remind me. And I never fell in love with Miami. And I've always been kind of dubious about Tua, though I think he's a great kid. Miami is lucky that Kansas City wasn't very good in the red zone, or it would have been 42 to this wasn't really competitive. I was shocked by how weak the effort was. And the only really big completion, Tua had the entire game was a massively underthrown ball that the great Tyreek Hill came back, caught, and turned into a touchdown.

But think about this. Tua had fewer passing yards than Skyler Thompson did last year in his playoff game at Buffalo. Like, that was really, really embarrassing. shockingly bad. So you're not going to get rid of Tua. And my takeaway is he has value. He's a good kid. He's a nice leader.

But you have to have a grown-up conversation and admit what he is. The Dolphins did not extend Tua's contract. Even with injuries, the Bengals did to Joe Burrow. Like, doesn't that kind of tell you? Did you watch the play calling in the second half in this game? Mike McDaniels was, he was protecting him. Mike McDaniel was protecting Tewa.

They didn't extend his contract. Let's stop the Pro Bowl stuff. I mean, let's stop. Next September, he'll light it up again, and everybody will fall forward again. But 94 degrees, if you look at the AFC, and you look at the really good football operations, Baltimore, Kansas City, now Cincinnati, Cleveland.

I mean, Pittsburgh, you don't worry much, but Pittsburgh, you start looking, Kansas. All these AFC teams, Buffalo. This is what the games look like. Mike McDaniel is a very good coach. Conditionally, in the first two years, road games, 7 and 12. So let's just be honest about what Mike's created and what Tua is.

These are real conversations. You don't need to be defensive. Some of us saw it very early, and I will remind you I did, because you'll remind me when I'm wrong, and that's often too. here was Tua after the loss. I don't feel any pressure at all. I have full trust in myself. I have full trust in what I'm capable of doing for our organization.

But outside of that, we're focusing on what happened. You know, we're going to simmer on this and see what we can do to get better from it going into next year. Listen, if they improve the O line, they can win a bunch of money. of games. Maybe they could host a playoff game next year. That would change everything. You're not going to bail on Tua, but I do think you have to start drafting quarterbacks.

You're not going to bail on DAC. I mean, Minnesota still likes Kirk Cousins. Dax Cump. So it's different. You can bail on a coach, and I wouldn't bail on Mike McDaniel. He's smart, clever guy. But you're going to have to win in the regular season. Because even in your own division,

road games in Buffalo, New York, New England, a Baltimore, a Pittsburgh, you're not built for it. He's not built for it. He didn't have a strong enough arm. I mean, Tua does not have a strong enough arm. For years and years, there's a reason that northern teams would draft a flacco or a Big Ben, right? Like Brady was a great cold weather thrower.

I mean, there's a reason teams like Chicago went and got Jay Cutler, Caleb Williams, Power Arm, Green Bay, Far, Berbin Rogers. It matters. Jordan Love's got a good arm. Why? Because this is what games look like at the end of the year. So a Kyler Murray, smaller player or a Tua, you can play down south, but just know that this is how the season ends. This is what football games look like, especially in the AFC. You're going to be going into this weather.

So regular seasons for Miami become paramount because the way to win playoff games with Tua and McDaniel is back in South Beach. And that's the only way. So here's an interesting one. Jordan Schultz's friend and reporter said one rival executive told me this week if the Cowboys lost to the Packers, and they didn't just lose. It was beyond just losing. He thought Jerry would go after Belichick to replace Mike McCarthy. There's another story today that Belichick and the Falcons have mutual interest.

I'm going to be totally honest. Atlanta's the better job. It's the better job. You have no meddling owner. You're not paying a fortune for an average quarterback. You have good offensive talent. Most of it cheap. And it's a much weaker division.

Dax contract is going to limit this roster. You're going to be over $100 million in a year and a half to Micah, D.C. Lame. Three dudes. Atlanta's got kids. And it's much easier to me to build something in Atlanta. You just got to get the quarterback right. Well, Colin, that's hard. It's not that hard. It's a great quarterback draft, and you're drafting near the top.

But Jerry loves Dak. So Jerry's going to pay Dak Mahomes money. And it becomes, let's be honest, it becomes a Russell Wilson situation. You have this gigantic boulder on your shoulders. So I don't think Bill's going to love Jerry's weekly Monday radio hits that he has to answer to. That's another factor. Jerry's enormous ego gets in the way. way a lot and Dax's enormous contract is going to get in the way of lot. So in a year and a half

you're not letting Mike go. They're not letting C.D. Lamb go. And Jerry loves Dak. So, you know, sometimes you don't think Atlanta's a great job. If Atlanta drafted Bo Nicks and he can play,

you're not paying him for five years. Chalachek's got about five years to coach. If Jerry re-sines DAC, that's going to be four or five years. You're going to have to overcome a big financial boulder on your shoulder. This is a salary cap league. Brady took pay cuts. Most quarterbacks don't want to.

Mahomes has done team-friendly deals, right? That's Drew Breeze, finally figured it out late career. I don't want to take the most. It's easier to win. So the idea you think of Atlanta as, oh, losing organization. What's Dells done in 30 years? Tell me, you're going to brag about that October win over the commanders? I mean, again, you've got to consider what's the quarterback, what's the ownership, who do I have to pay?

How soon do I have to pay them? The Atlanta situation to me is all possibilities. They may not have Dallas's O line, but PFF ranks them as a top 6-0 line. They're rebuild. Where is it? On Bill's side. They're rebuilds on defense. That's Bill's expertise.

The only problem with that, Colin, is like you said, quarterback. And what faith do you have in Bill Belichick, who fumbled Cam Newton, which was a disaster? Mack Jones, which was a train wreck, Bailey Zappy. I don't know that Bill knows quarterbacks at this stage in his career. It has a whiff. Bill's at 72 of Nick Saban and Alabama. I don't get offense in the modern era. I need to hand it off to other dudes.

What place has pressure, year one, that you have to win? Dallas, for sure. But you're going to roll out of bed and win 10 or 11 or 12 games. They've won 12 games three years in a row.
