You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Here we go. It is a Monday, and we have so many things to talk about. Live in Los Angeles, it's the heard. J. Mack is joining me today from the United States Ben's National Team to college. football to a pack slate. Got a little bingles chiefs, little preview potentially of the AFC championship.

A little melancholy Monday with the jets going down. But the football was very, very good yesterday, Colin. It was very good. So let's start with this. It is much, much easier to be the hunter than the hunted. And that's what Kansas City is now. And it's been a couple of years now. Kansas City gets every team's best shot.

They get every coaching staff's best game plan. Kansas City is the NFL's most hunted. They've got the ring and Mahalms and Andy Reid and the networks love them and they get the attention. Some of their best players have gotten the bag. And now everybody's going to pick, pick, pick. You're going to spend the off season if you're Cincinnati and Buffalo copying some of their offensive genius. And you'll spend the off-season defensively drafting and acquiring people that can make their life more miserable. And in both Buffalo and Cincinnati's case, you have star quarterbacks with lots and lots of really good weapons and emerging running games to keep Mahomes off the field.

They are the standard now, the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL, and Cincinnati and Buffalo have the quarterbacks to go toe to toe. And the chiefs, we told you this. when they lost Tyreek Hill, we said they'll still score a bunch of points, and they'll still be very productive. But they will miss his lightning. They will not score as quickly. They will not be able to come from 24-0-0-0-0-down. And Cincinnati and Buffalo now know it.

Go look at the first downs last night. Bengals have 26. Kansas City just 20. 15 passing first downs for the Bengals. just 11 for the chiefs. The bingles get into the red zone seven times. Kansas City just four. Bengals averaging eight and a half yards of play.

Pass play. Kansas City only seven. It's just inches. This much, that much. That speed that you can't duplicate on the market. We never questioned whether Kansas City would be smart and brilliant and win and be productive, but they miss Tyreek Hill's lightning. They feel like a heavyweight fighter that doesn't quite have the knockout punch they used to. Can't claw back after being beaten in the

early rounds like they used to. Instead of Travis Kelsey being the two to Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelsey is now the one to Marquez Valdez Scanling and Jujus Ms. Schuster. It is not the same. even in New England's dynasty, as great as the New England dynasty was, and it was great. They had a 10-year drought and needed a weird Seahawks play call throwing at the one-and-a-half-yard line to get that Super Bowl. But now you've got Buffalo's got Josh Allen in weapons, and Cincinnati's got Joe Burrow in weapons. And what's impressive about both those teams and scary if you're the Chiefs is, now they've got running games, single Terry for the bills. The two-headed running game eventually for the Bengals.

Both can keep Mahomes off the field. Is Burrow the MVP of the league? When I bought into the Bengals earlier this year, I said, don't sell your stock. I don't care they lost the Super Bowl. I don't care that Burrow had surgery. Once the run game emerges, they are built to beat the Chiefs.

More than Buffalo. They're built to beat the Chiefs because I think they're better situationally than Buffalo. Because I think Burroughs a more accurate thrower. Easier to get third downs, long game, midgame, short game than Josh Allen. Here was Zach Taylor,

head coach of the Bengals after if he's got an MVP at quarterback. You feel like he's playing it like an MVP caliber? Absolutely. Absolutely. He's playing at the level we need for him to lead us to be confident that we can go win every game we play. And, you know, so whatever those conversations are like,

There's no doubt. I've said it before, I wouldn't trade him for anybody in the world. What's interesting about Burrow is, about a month ago, I said, Joe Burrow has entered the realm of Mahomes and Allen. We now have three great quarterbacks in the league. Mahomes, Allen, and Burrow. All three are in their athletic prime. All three can move. All three have requisite arms. Mahomes may be the raw talent. Alan, the physical specimen. But does anybody in critical situations throw the football more accurately into the right person more often than Joe Burrow? I think not. Here was Joe talking about the MVP potential.

It is what it is. You know, I don't play the game for those kind of accolades, but I play the game for those guys in the locker room. And, you know, I've always said whatever it takes out of me every Sunday, that's what I'm going to do. I could hand the ball off 72 times and come out with the win. I'm going to be happy. Much, much easier to be the hunter or Cincinnati than the hunted Kansas City. Wouldn't be shocked if they meet again in the AFC championship. All right, so the Cowboys won 5419.

Everybody in the media are going to lavish them with praise. Listen, the Cowboys are always their best playing the week or the weekend. And here came the Colts with an old immobile quarterback. controversy in the organization, an interim head coach. They were a beach ball and the cowboys were a pit bull ready to bounce on it. Do you still trust Mike McCarthy situationally in the playoffs? Or for Dak to have a nine-play drive trailing, overcoming a pass rush. I don't.

But if you walk into Dallas a little wobbly, they'll knock you out. They got six, seven elite players. They will play downhill. But for three quarters, didn't you ask yourself? Two and a half hours, didn't you ask yourself? Colts are bad. They're on the road. How is this game close?

Dallas, to me, is the classic schoolyard bully. They seize on the weak and terrified. But when they face top quarterbacks, when they face real pass rushes, when they face playoff teams or have to go on the road, and the margin shrink, that is when I don't trust. Dallas. I just don't. I know I'm supposed to, but I don't. December and January football gets cold and tight and uncomfortable and coaching matters more and quarterback play matters more. And right now, I feel like there are four teams in this league feel different. Cincinnati,

Buffalo, Kansas City, and Philadelphia. They feel different to me. And then there's three or four other team San Francisco looking for a quarterback, Minnesota, Miami and Dallas. They're just missing something. Firepower at quarterback maybe for Minnesota and Miami. I don't trust the coach with Dallas. San Francisco now has the great defense, but we don't know what they're going to be at quarterback. I guess with Dallas, it's this simple.

As you lavish them with praise this morning, haven't we seen this before? a weak and wobbly team waltzes in to Dallas and the cowboys roll them to stand-alone TV game and everybody freaks out. And in about three weeks, they got to go play a playoff team. Maybe it's on the road. It's just uncomfortable. It's snowing. And they just can't make the plays late.

I mean, never forget. You watch that Green Bay game, right? Green Bay is not even good. So take a deep breath. I think they're close, but I don't trust them because they have not gotten to an NFC championship game. In a sport where everybody, even the lions are viable. They haven't gotten there since 1995. So I will believe it when I see it.

But this, a weak and wobbly team with an old quarterback, an interim coach, waltzes into Dallas on a standalone game and they bury them late in the fourth quarter. You know how many times I've seen that in the last 15 years, 20? Two dozen? Believe it when I see it against the great team, potentially on the road and a great coach. So the Niners, what a crazy turn of events for San Francisco. Jim Harbaugh's name is out there. I finally, you know, when you get to this point of the NFL season,

and we talk about this, there's the regular season to Thanksgiving, and then post- Thanksgiving football. And this is where you see the better coaches, the better quarterbacks, kind of pull away from people. Right. And I've been sitting there thinking about what am I going to do? What am I going to do with Philadelphia? I've got a much greater feeling this morning about Philadelphia.

It's been the story since the preseason, hasn't it? We said when the season started, the most interesting team in the league would be the Niners. So they give up all these draft picks. They get a college kid. They won't even give Jimmy Garapolo a playbook. story won't give him a playbook as he heals in the offseason. We want to play Tray Lance. And that doesn't work. It's just not clicking. They're better with Jimmy G. So they give it to him. He's not resentful. You question how talented he is. Can he stay healthy? And the story of handsome Jimmy GQ is officially over.

He'll be a free agent. There won't be much of a market at all unless he goes on the cheap. And the Niners now get clarity. They're going to move on. What to do. Well, I do think Brock Purdy, I did watch him yesterday, and I watched him in the preseason. My takeaway, there's a little Taylor Heineke there. I think you can win this weird division. I think you could win a playoff game. They would face the New York Giants if the playoffs were today at home, and I think they beat the Giants with Brock Purdy. I really do.

But are you going to go to Philadelphia and win? No. Are you going to beat Cincinnati, Buffalo, Kansas City with Brock Purdy? No. The coach is still great. The defense is last 10, 15 years. years, amazing. But this story ends how kind of a lot of people thought it would end. It sputters and brittle Jimmy G. can't stay healthy. Folks, this sport is not built for everybody to play 15 years.

Some guys physically, some guys emotionally just wear down and he struggled to stay healthy. Brock Purdy, you can win a division and a playoff game with him, but the standard here is very high because the coach and the defense is really special. It does create clarity. It's Trey Lance's team. Next year. It's Trey Lances team. Kid, here's your shot.

Young people get opportunities in your life. No Jimmy G. in the sideline recovering. It's your team. My second takeaway is two is kind of thought, two is kind of what we thought he was, right? Like, we've got to be honest about this.

Everybody in life, in sports, reacts differently based on circumstances. Joe Burrell got to a Super Bowl with a bad old line. Joe Burrell's winning games without Joe Mixon. Jamar Chase was out for about a month. Now he's back. Joe Mixon wins. That's not Tua. If Tua has to face a great defense, has a little pressure. He was obviously rattled early, off his game, lacked confidence, got hit, had no interest as a small guy getting hit by the Niners, missed open throws. He was totally off. I think it was in his head. he made one big throw all day to a wide open Tyreek Hill.

That was it. They couldn't get to the red zone. He couldn't hit the open throws. He's not a playmaker. He's always been small. He's just not a guy that is going to elevate people in crisis. That's not what he is. You give him a great coach.

You give him great weapons. You give him all his guys are healthy. You can score a lot of points and win a lot of games. But he's not a borough. He's not a Holmes. He's not a Herbert. He's not an Allen. He's not going to overcome obstacles and potholes.

flat tires. That's not what he is, and you saw it on display there. Doesn't mean you can't win games. Doesn't mean he couldn't shock people in the playoffs, go on the road and beat somebody. But to win time and time and time, again, you need special at that position. And I just don't think that's what he is. Here's what to a great kid, heck of a leader, accurate distributor. As I've said, if you like Jimmy G, and I did, you got at least respect to a physical limitations. Certainly. accurate, got some alpha, guys, guys, everybody loves them, but there are limitations to Jimmy G, which everybody always acknowledged, and now we have to be honest about Tua. Here he was after. Sucks that. We didn't come out and say what we wanted to do collectively as a team. Obviously,

it starts with me offensively. Turnovers with third downs, communication errors. You know, in that retrospect, it's hard to win a game when, you know, when you're not on your P's and Q's and you're not dialed in. When it comes to Tua, it's really expectations. And I think most Dolphin fans that I've talked to or you tweet are pretty realistic. They know what they have. They have a brilliant young coach, the fastest football player in the world. and when everything's right, Tua can distribute. But in the NFL, especially in December and January,

man, there are games nothing goes right for a half. And that's when Burrough and Mahomes and Josh Allen are special. I mean, Herbert's been missing his left tackle all year. The O lines of mess. Mike Williams is never healthy and he's had four come from behind wins. Almost did it again yesterday. It's no shot at Tua. I feel bad for the 49ers.

There's a lot of rumors about what they're going to to do now. There's been a Tom Brady rumor. My guess is they stay with Brock Purdy. You can win a division in a playoff game. This is a great roster. Not a good roster. It is a loaded roster. Defensively, it is insane. It looks like they're playing with 12 guys. It's like those old Ravens teams are like, do they have an extra safety? Do they have an extra linebacker? That's what Niners look like. They're closing speed. Fred Warner, the bullet train, sideline to sideline. It's like they're playing with an extra pass rusher or an extra linebacker or safety. But the Jimmy G, there's a number out there.

When Jimmy G plays, they win. When he doesn't, they don't. Colin, can I give you two names for the 49ers to call? All right. We'll start with Philip Rivers, who has not played. He played with the Colts two years ago. I know. I'm not going there.

The other guy has rumored to be released later today. It's not official, but your buddy, Baker Mayfield, is expected to be released by Carolina at some point today. I don't think, you know, you'll think this is crazy. I don't think there's a huge gap in Baker and Brock Purdy. I really, I don't. I think Baker throws a better ball, but I think Purdy is probably a little more athletic.

They're both undersized. They're not going to, I mean, I, I've said this before. You think it's crazy, but I always said Baker Mayfield was largely a more popular gardener minchew. If you look at the stats in college and pro, it's the exact same. The difference is Baker's played with better players. So I wouldn't roll the dice on that. Now, can Baker throw the football accurately with time to throw?

Yes. So I will say this. Do I think John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan are having a Baker discussion? Absolutely. Absolutely. They're sitting down this morning. Remember in Cleveland when he had the run game, the offensive line? They made the playoffs, beat the Steelers.

I know Baker didn't do much. And that Cleveland team was average defensively. This is a top 10 defense in the last 20 years. I mean, they don't, they have pro bowlers everywhere. This Miami team was rolling over people outside of one scheme to play to start the game. They hit on one big pass all day, all day. And you're just telling Baker, hey, we don't need you to play hero out here. You got Christian McCaffrey.

You got Debo. Oh, this guy named Kittle at tight end. He's decent. I think they're having that discussion today. I wouldn't because I watched Brock Purdy preseason yesterday. I think, I mean, listen, you gave up three. What if Baker wins he hits? Then you got another issue.

You're not going to sign him big picture. You got Trey Lance. It would just, I think the coaching and defense is so good. I think it's just a really bad break and you just deal with it. I think you just kind of tell a Greek defense that you've got to deal with Brock. I think to your point, though, I think it's something you have lunch over. I think it's something you talk about. about. J. Mack with the news.

No, no, no, no, no. Turn on the news. This is the herd line news. Let's start with the guy, I guess you're off the train now. Russell Wilson, Colin. Oh, my goodness. Lamar Jackson goes out for the Ravens. You're thinking, oh my goodness, Denver has this. Defense held Baltimore to their fewest points of the season. Listen, Denver's defense is unbelievable. It's the best defense in the league outside of the Niners. I think it's up there. I think it's unbelievable. All levels. But you look at the offense and Russ and Nathaniel Hackett, they can't get anything going. Colin, this was Russell Wilson's fourth game of the season without a TD pass and fewer than 200 passing yards. Of course, she's, I'm spacing on the backup Baltimore quarterback who got

them to win. Late touchdown run. They win 10-9. But this is about Russell Wilson, Colin. Now, I can make excuses. Hey, Cortland Sutton goes down with the injury early, did not even have a catch. KJ Hamler did not play. It was the Jerry Judy and Greg Dulcich, the tight end show. It's hard to watch. Denver has the most, I think, salary cap dollars on the IR right now. Can you make a case that maybe Russ can come back next year? Is it over for Russell?

This is pre-longed struggles for Ross. They're trapped. You have to make it work. You have to at least take a swing at a second young coach. You have to take a swing on a big coach here. You can't just, have you seen, his cap hit hasn't even started. Remember, they inherited some Seattle stuff. So you've got to give this thing at least one more full year.

You know, Green Bay could move off Aaron Rogers. It's different because with Aaron, you could get draft capital back. So the Green Bay's already got their number one and number two pick. If you could get a first and a second, you've got four great picks. You know, Denver now is out of picks, out of money, out of cap space. you have to roll the dice on another coat to Shane Waldronata, Seattle, somebody. Cliff Kingsbury, you think that would be a marriage that would work with Russell Wilson? He's not working in Arizona.

Well, he's got Kyler Murray. Well, I just... I can't think of a guy right now, and I'm sure Russ is not going to be like, yo, I don't want a 32-year-old head coach. Do you go to like a Sean Payton and say, I'll pay a $15 million a year? No, Sean Payton comes on the show. We should ask him now. I'm going to guess he's going to pass on... I do not think it's an attractive job. No.

Absolutely not. All right. Next up, what do we got here? Aaron Rogers, speaking of not-washed quarterbacks, how about that comeback? Down 16-3. And Rogers goes on three straight scoring drives in the second half. They beat the Bears, as they do all the time.

28-19. Rogers is a staggering 25-5 in his career against the Bears, including the playoffs. Colin, he's beat them eight straight times. He has 19 touchdowns, zero picks. If you're a Packer fan, you know the best part of that game, you have found a star in Christian Watson.

you have got your number one. I kid is fast. Yeah, yeah. So now Romeo Dobbs is also good, but Christian Watson, it does appear. You have found a, I'm not saying he Stefan Diggs or Justin Jefferson, Jamar Chase, but you have found your one. So now, now that's interesting. To me, now is if Aaron has a little run here with maybe Aaron's like,

you know what, we found the one, we got our guy. they just now they've got a number one back. Now they've got a number one receiver. They've got a number one corner. They have obviously an air and a number one star quarterback. I got to ask you about that cornerback. Jayaer Alexander got hooked. Not a good year.

Gave up six catches on seven targets for 128 yards. I know. Against Nikiel Harry in the Chicago base. I know he had a game saving interception at the end. But Jair Alexander's had a rough. Even the Packers reporters now are saying, boy, Jaira Alexander is struggling in coverage. He can't tackle. You know, we're seeing this.

Jalen Ramsey got paid. He's struggling this year. By the way, he got beat for a game-winning touchdown yesterday. After running his mouth the entire game to TK. Metcalfe. And now, Jared Alexander got paid and he's struggling. Yeah. You got to be careful with those cornerbacks. All right.

Finally, Colin, this is tough one. New York Jets. They start out struggling against Minnesota. And the second half was the Mike White Laser Show. How about that throw to Corey Davis? Cory Davis. Garrett Wilson. But you know, ask yourself,

they had two opportunities in the last like five or six minutes. Two drives engineered by Mike White. And he was pretty good, but he could never make the throw. Well, in the red zone, they were one for six, and that's not beating anybody.

And that's the difference between Burrow and Mike White. Because he did, he had good feet. He was calm. He drove him down. Now, it's not a great defense, but it was on the road.

That throw to Corey Davis was, that was like, oh, that's a... It was the best throw of his career, and he doesn't have much of a career yet. Yeah, yeah. But it's one of those things where he's better than Zach Wilson, but the difference is you're watching Burrow,

and those kind of guys, Burrow in the Red Zone, burrow on third down. It's just that secret sauce that Mike doesn't have. The lack of scrambling ability. He's just lumbered. And like, did you see the run at the goal line? He didn't know where to go and luckily got pushed in by teammates. Heartbreaking 27-22 win.

Colin, I got to ask, the Jets are still in the playoff mix. but Mike White throwing the ball 57 times. Oh, like brutal. Well, they couldn't run the ball because they're so beat up. But, you know, this defense held Minnesota to nothing in the second half. Yeah. By the way, when Justin Jefferson doesn't have 60 yards receiving and Dalvin Cook's under 100, like, you've got to win that game.

This was a frustrating one for the Jets. Listen, Chargers lose. Ravens lose Lamar Jackson. I think the Jets are still going to the playoffs, Colin. I know you don't like this and they're not going to make the hard hierarchy. I'm going to stop lobbying. I think the Jets are a playoff team. the AFC. Are you on board

with that? The Chargers are more talented, but I don't know if the Chargers have the right coach. They got Miami this week. I know. And they're going to get boat-raced. I think they're in some trouble. Big try. That's the first game that jumps off the board is Miami and the Chargers. And it's only

three, but there is the Tua ankle injury. I don't want to go in on Tua yet. There's plenty of times left in the show, but Jets, we'll see, Colin. All right. Jay Mack with the news. Well, that's the news. stopping by. The herd lie news.

So it's interesting, there's a lot of reports because Michigan now is the number two team in the country, the number two team in the college football playoff. There are stories yesterday that teams are doing their homework on Jim Harbaugh. So Jim Harbaugh has what almost no coach ever has in college. Major leverage to the NFL. People forget. Harbaugh was 44-19-and-1 in the NFL. Sabin bombed in the NFL.

Spurrier bombed in the NFL. He was 44-19 and one. Took over a mess. And by the way, the minute he left, it was a mess again. So this idea, though, that Harbaugh is going to leave Michigan for the Colts job or the Panthers job, give me a break. Those have impulsive owners and no franchise quarterback. Harbaugh's got it rolling. The Ohio State rivalry is now his.

The game moves back to Ann Arbor next year. He found his star quarterback in J.J. McCarthy who's coming back. his staff is excellent and their identity offensively is classic tough guy Harbaugh offense. The Colts job? Yuck. The Panthers job, hard pass. Even Denver, no thanks. The only head coaching job good enough for Jim Harbaugh and he would have to sit down and think about it would be the LA Chargers. Star quarterback, star left tackle, elite receiver, edge rusher, excellent young corner. Smart GM. Owners don't meddle a lot.

The Chargers. And let's be honest, he coached at Stanford. He coached at San Diego. He likes living out west. Chargers, Harbaugh, absolutely. But it cracks me up. This idea, the Colts job, what is attractive about the Colts? They don't have the wide receiver talent, the edge rush talent.

They need another corner. The offensive line now is getting older and banged up. Like, what job? Jonathan Taylor's nice, but, I mean, you watched them last night. That is, they are a mess. They have never recovered from Andrew Luck's early retirement. They're just reeling as a franchise with an incredibly impulsive owner that it ran off Carson Wentz, ran off Frank Reich, now probably runs off the GM. So I think, I think, if I'm Harbaugh, outside of the Chargers, I'm not taking any of these calls.

He controls personnel. The Ohio State game goes back to Ann Arbor. I think they're the best team in college football. I think Georgia's got more talent. I think they have a greater sense of identity offensively and are good enough defensively. So that's where we stand. Here's former Michigan tight end Jake Buck. Now with the Big Ten Network was on my show last week.

We talked about Harbaugh, how he's changed the culture at Michigan. When he first got there, you've got to think about where Michigan was. We were coming off of five and seven seasons. You know, Brady Hope would let go. Dave Brandon, the athletic director was let go. And I just remember the intensity that he brought. And, you know, as you look at it now, he's had to adapt, right? He took a program that was in shambles.

He stabilized it. We had back-to-back 10-win seasons. But I think going back to last season, you saw a change in Coach Harbaugh, and it's paid dividends with their on-field success. This is not the time to leave. They are the recruiting, the staff is rolling, Ohio State feels like they're a little off-kilter right now. Not bad.

They're still a really great top five, top four program. But when I see these rumors about the Colts and the Panthers and the Texans and the what? Just because he once wore a Colts jersey? What is nicer about the Colts job than the Michigan job? Those Michigan job now. He's going to go back and renegotiate if he wins a title or get to that title game and get $10 million a year.

his dad lives right next to him with the grandkids. Ann Arbor's in a rocking place to live. The Colts job, the Panthers job, what are you talking about? I got news for you. When you get the Lincoln Riley life for the Jim Harbaugh life for the Nick Saban life, there's about five great NFL jobs, and they all have one thing in common. They have a great quarterback because you can't win in that sport without one. What about the Denver Broncos with Russell?

Awful. No draft picks. Don't have any camp room. quarterbacks old could be washed. Oh, I think that my whole life, the Denver Bronco job was great. It is no longer a great job. All right. How about this one?

L.A. Chargers with Justin Herbert. Yeah, that's the one. By the way, that's the one Sean Peyton would probably take. Yeah. Chargers are going to have options if Brandon Staley messes this up. And the schedule is not favorable for the Chargers downstate. If they lose to Miami. Six and seven.

Raiders could be tied with them next week. Raiders are five and seven, Colin. Well, I watched the entire Raider Charger game. Raiders were the better team. Yeah. More Philadelphia really looked good. Have thoughts on that later today. Joel Klatch joining us, lead college football analyst. The playoff is set. Georgia, Michigan, TCU, and Ohio State. You know, I kind of like the fact that Alabama's coach is out there like car salesman pitching it heavy. A couple of road losses in the best conference, but he didn't get in. So a lot of people, you know, listen, it's an annual traditional.

and we complain about the fourth team to get in. Give me your big argument for Ohio State over Alabama. You told me that a week ago. You thought that was the play. Yeah, I think it was the play. And the committee told us it was the play leading into last week. So Alabama didn't have a great argument. In fact, Alabama's best argument is that Vegas would probably favor us in a game

against any of those other teams. And while that might be the case, they were also an eight-point favorite or right around there against LSU in a game that they lost. Yeah. So, you know, your best losses can't be your argument in this sport. It's got to be about who you win. And that really was what it boiled down to. And that's what Nick Sabin said at halftime.

And by the way, I do want to back up. I know I sounded dismissive in the first half when I said, hey, Sabin's coming on. I guess he's going to lobby and good for him. That's what he should do. And that's what he should do for his team and his fan base. He did exactly what he should do. My disdain wasn't for him or Alabama. It was for the model, the system that was.

we're in, that we have to lobby for spots. I don't love that. I can't wait till this thing expands, although they'll still be lobbying for that 12th and final spot in the playoff. Having said that, the argument for the other two is very easy, at least in my estimation. Ohio State was the most dominant and balanced team in the country for 11 weeks. And then you could basically say they were still in a one possession game with 720 left against Michigan, and it got away from them late. So this is still a team that won 11 games, not just 10. They've got the win against Penn State and Notre Dame. on the road. It's just a better resume than Alabama, and TCU, quite frankly, has a much better resume.

Even though Vegas would favor Alabama in that game, TCU has a win over Kansas State, and they beat Texas, which is also Alabama's best win on their resume, and they did it in the same building by a greater margin. So this was always going to be the four-team playoff, and it was going to be the order. After USC lost, this was going to be the order regardless of outcome, even in the Big 12 game. I've said this. I think Georgia's the most talented team, but all year I said, I think Michigan's the best team. I think they have a greater sense of identity offensively. I've watched Georgia struggle at Missouri, not really can't find their offensive identity. Struggled with Kentucky. Same issues. Is that sometimes it feels like they're forced to throw, where I feel like Michigan's sort of unveiled their ability to throw, although they could have. I think Michigan's the best football team. I think George, and by the way, Georgia's got better players. but I think, I don't know, as good as story as TCU is, I don't think they're a great matchup with Michigan.

What is your takeaway today on the final four? I think, I really do think this is the best Michigan team I can remember seeing, going back to 15, 20 years. I really like them. Okay, so that can be true, and yet it can also be true that I think Georgia is better. See, George is the best team in college football over the last 18 months. It just so happens, by the way. You know who a clear number two has been over the last 18 months?

Michigan. And so we've got these two teams in these two seeds, and it's very accurate for where it's been. In fact, over the last 27 games in college football, you've got Georgia at 26 and 1 and Michigan at 25 and 2. These are the two best teams of the last 18 months. And in large respect, due to the fact of exactly your point, they have a strong identity in particular on the defensive side.

When I look at this matchup, let me just start with the Georgia perspective. There were really four teams that they could have faced coming out of last week in the playoff in the semifinal. Those four teams were USC, TCU, Michigan, or Ohio State. Those were really the only four teams that could have gotten into the playoff as we talked about last week. Wouldn't you make the argument that the toughest matchup for Georgia of those four is actually Ohio State?

Because I would make that argument. Yeah. So Georgia comes out of last. week. They're 13 and 0. They're the best team in college football over the last 18 months, and they probably got the more tougher, the most toughest matchup in the semifinal. Meanwhile, Michigan is sitting there at the two seed and their style is going to be really good against TCU because TCU is about, well, they're about a defense that's not great, a quarterback that has willpower like Tim Tebow Light, and they can create some big plays here and there. Listen, this Michigan

team, they are methodical. They choke the life out of the game. They do not panic when it's close at halftime. They understand that they're going to wear you out and they're going to win eventually because of how strong they are up front on both defensive and offensive lines. And that's why I really think that we're headed for Michigan in the championship game. And then right now, I think I would pick Georgia, but boy, that's going to be a great game against Ohio State.

Yeah, Ohio State's going to be told for the next five weeks. weeks, how weak and soft and finesse they are. So they have a psychological edge. The line came out. It was much closer. And I think Vegas has figured this out. Ohio State rarely gets embarrassed at home. They are in a bad mood and they're a top five recruiting power with NFL guys everywhere. Watch the Buckeyes play really good football and give Georgia everything. That's my takeaway. Is that game is going to be potentially closer than Michigan TCU? Yeah. I would say that as well. And just, Just one extra add on there to what you're saying, you know, I've been around this team.

Shoot, man. I mean, right? You know this. Like, I cover Ohio State and Michigan. It's almost exclusive. But I will tell you this. When they play loose and carefree, then you get like what they did to Clemson a couple years ago in the semis.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. You get what they did to Michigan in 2018 and 19. Now, they have played tighter in big games recently. Yeah. I think you're going to get a team that goes and cuts it loose with nothing to lose, and that's a dangerous Ohio State team if they feel that way. Yeah, I mean, they're an NFL factory. So Georgia's got a lot of NFL guys, but second of these four in NFL athletes over the last 10 years is Ohio State. It's a factory. Finally, I don't know if it's going to work,

but I am here for it. Dion Sanders to the PAC 12, again, they don't have a lot of NIL money. I don't know how committed they are to football. They admit they can't afford his contract yet, but it's going to be fascinating to watch. Prime Time and Mountain Standard Time as a Buffalo, what do you make of it? I mean, I couldn't be more excited. Are you kidding me? This is a once proud program. I know those of you younger than me, really, and Colin, you don't remember.

But Colorado is a once very proud program, national championships, Heisman trophies, Thorpe Award winners, Buckus Award winners. At one point, they were in the top two or three in college football and NFL players. You remember this, Colin? I mean, like, they were really good. Those were my formative years. And so I've been desperate to see them back on that level. And this is the type of guy that I think can do that because he is one of one.

Listen, and you talk about like fit and money. Well, first of all, the school is changing drastically. The Board of Regents just okayed a new move that is going to let more credits transfer into Colorado, both for athletes and non-athletes. A big issue at Colorado has been that they don't have a general studies degree. And because of that, you can't get a lot of those general studies transfers over. Now they can. They have worked it out within the school, and so they can do that.

So they're committed on that end. I think that there's more money than you think. Because remember, Colorado is a very successful and very good university, and there's a lot of people out there that just haven't been donating. I think Colorado has access to more money than people think that they do, and hopefully they can get access to that money here with this type of momentum. And then the last thing would be fit. You brought up fit. You think it's weird, maybe. Let me just say this. I think Dion Sanders is independent of fit. There are, you know, in the draft column,

there's a few players that you're like, you know, he's good enough. It doesn't matter. Which coach, which system, you can just go out there and have success. I think Dion like the sun. Everything revolves around him rather than the opposite where he goes in and tries to fit in with the culture that's existing. So the last thing that I would say is this guy is the magnet. It doesn't matter where a recruits from. They're going to answer his DM. And the fit is more Boulder fitting in with him and not him fitting in with Boulder.
