This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel
and friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes
for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
Listen to Superhuman on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Hey, this is Robert from the Stuff to Blow Your Mind podcast. Joe and I are both lifelong Star Wars fan,
so we're celebrating May the 4th with a brand new week of fun, thought-provoking Star Wars-related episodes.
Join us as we tackle science and culture topics from a galaxy far, far away,
such as the biology of Tontons and Wampas on the ice planet hot,
or the practicality and corporate business sense of the Sith rule.

A win is a win.
A win is a win.
I don't care what I'm saying.
Yep, that's me, Cliver Taylor the 4th.
You might have seen the skits, my basketball and college football journey, or my career in sports media.
Well, now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Cliver Show.
This is a place for raw, unfills of conversations with athletes, creators, and voices that not only deserve to be heard,
but celebrated.
So let's get to it.

You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Ah, here we go.
It is a Monday.
There is so much to talk about live in Los Angeles.
It's the herd, wherever you may be.
However you may be listening, IHeart Radio, Fox Sports Radio, FS1, one hour from now.
Colin was right.
Colin was wrong.
There is plenty of both.
And Jason McIntyre, another great college weekend, another amazing NFL weekend.
That was a show.
case last night. I was just looking at the red zones.
Nine times these, ten times these teams got into the end zone, nine times they score.
You get great coaching, great quarterbacking, great efficiency.
That was pleasurable to the eye. That was fun, a beautiful football.
Andy Reid decided to break out the good place, as opposed to the Colts game where he just
didn't score in the second half, but they look phenomenal.
Yeah, so we got 72 points last night, almost 60 first downs, 40 passing first downs.
That's the way football should be.
great efficiency in the red zone, clever.
Two big takeaways.
Let's start with Tampa.
If you want to know why Brady and Giselle are reportedly having, you know, marriage conflict,
Tom wants to continue playing football, she doesn't want him to.
You watch last night.
He's still a top five quarterback in the league.
He's shredding defenses.
He threw it 52 times.
He got hit, looked like he got hurt, bounced back, accurate as ever, poised as ever,
velocity as good as ever.
Red zone, good.
is ever. Listen, if Steph Curry's averaging 29 and a half points a game and his wife says stop playing,
they'd probably argue too. I mean, Tom Brady, I don't see any dip in accuracy, composure, velocity,
movement. I mean, seven yards per play. The only difference with Tom is Chris Godwin tends to get
hurt. Mike Evans has been out a couple of times. Gronk is not his safety valve in the red zone,
but I don't see Tom Brady today looks like Tom Brady eight years ago. Honestly, he looks better than the
two years in New England. Of course, a lot of that is the weapons he has. That's my first takeaway.
The second one is, Kansas City, Mahomes, and Andy Reed are really easy to root for to go on a run
and be a dynasty. They're not there yet. They have one Super Bowl. But if there's going to be a
dynasty, it should look like this. Fun, flashy, daring, and there are levels to really good
football teams. There's a very good team. Cincinnati's a very good team. It's a great team.
I think Kansas City at their best, Buffalo at their best are great teams.
And then there's wow.
In Kansas City and Buffalo, especially the chiefs, are one of the only wow teams in the league.
The warriors and the chiefs are good for sports.
I mean, listen, the Spurs had a dynasty.
Bama had a dynasty.
Patriots had a dynasty.
But it was sort of like coaching and culture and efficiency and a suffocating defense.
That's fine, too.
You get the trophies.
You get the rings.
But, I mean, to me, not all dynasties are equal.
and this has such a warrior's feel to it, that it's just going to last longer.
And a big component to that is that Mahomes, like Steph Curry, is so unselfish.
He actually, believe it or not, gains joy in other people succeeding.
He's okay with a tight end taking the snap and going in.
He loves that stuff.
And so you get everything you want in a dynasty.
You get daring and clever and wow and coaching and smart.
I mean, it's nothing against the Patriots 20-year run.
But let's be honest.
It was that cold team up in the Northeast.
Bill was really smart.
Tom was really efficient.
Didn't have outside of the Randy Moss years, a lot of sex appeal, not really relatable.
This is how football should be.
And it's where football is moving.
Daring, fun, and different.
Joy from the superstars.
Selfless guys willing to elevate others.
And Travis Kelsey talked about it after the game.
The NFL hasn't seen anything like Pat Mahomes.
I promise you that.
And you saw it today.
He's the Houdini of our era, man.
The guy just finds ways to make plays throughout the game.
I mean, big time third downs, big time goal line plays,
just willing our team into the end zone,
willing our team to win, and that's our ultimate leader, man.
Listen, Kansas City and the Warriors also can get a little too cute.
I mean, Steph Curry will do the behind-the-back pass on a fast break.
You can go up by 10, close the deal out, and it flies into the stands.
sometimes the left-handed stuff for Mahomes goes awry.
But you know what?
Great people have to push the envelope.
That's what we as consumers, that's when we're the big winners,
when great people do great stuff.
When Steph Curry hits two 28-footers in a row,
he needs to try a 32-footer because nobody can do that,
except Steph Curry, push the envelope.
And sometimes Kansas hit he can get a little sloppy
and can get a little cute and can get a little finesse.
I'm here for it.
A very easy team to root for.
Smart football and daring football.
For us is great football.
All right, let's talk about something that's not so great.
The Denver Broncos had 12 first downs against the Raiders defense.
Russell Wilson, say what you want, good receivers, offensive head coach, a lot of penalties, bad situationally.
Folks, you're seeing it with Oklahoma football and you're seeing it with a Denver
Denver Broncos, where a coach comes in, can't even master his side of the ball.
75% of coordinators hired for college or pro jobs do not work.
They don't work.
Coordinators generally don't work.
Well, well, wait until he gets his players.
Nonsense.
McVeigh didn't need his players.
Lincoln Riley at USC didn't need his players.
Denver from clock management to penalty.
to lack of creativity.
I'm afraid I'm really wrong on this
that Denver whipped on the head coach.
They've got literally no identity
offensively other than
disorganized.
12 first downs.
No ability to run the ball.
They don't move the pocket.
I mean, you can blame Russell Wilson,
but his passer rating was 1.24.9.
And you still saw flashes of Russell Wilson.
He led Denver in rushing.
He had two great deep balls.
He's getting the ball.
to his star receivers.
He's scrambling for first downs.
You see some of, you don't see a guy that's hobbling up and down the field.
He's at least trending in the right direction.
But folks, we have seen this in the NFL in the last four or five years.
Steve Wilkes in Arizona, they moved off after a year.
Ben McAdoo and the New York Giants.
They got it wrong.
Joe Judge took us longer.
We figured out quickly.
He got it wrong.
Cleveland Brown's Freddy Kitchens.
It happens.
It happens.
You can keep convincing yourself.
it's working. But I would say this. Ask yourself this. What is Nathaniel Hackett's identity?
Even coaches we're not sure about. I'll give you an example. Robert Salo with the Jets. We don't know if
it's going to work, but he's got an identity, great energy and a tough guy. You know what he is.
It may not work, but he's got an identity. That team is physical and his energy is through the roof.
Let me give you another one. Brandon Staley of the Chargers.
We don't know if it's going to work, but very analytical and hyper-aggressive.
We know what they are.
Miami.
Mike McDaniel.
Four games.
He is a pro player.
Wrap your arms around my guy.
Again, very smart, very efficient, looks very much like the 49ers.
I don't know if Mike McDaniel, Brandon Staley, Robert Sala, will be coaching in four years.
I don't know.
McDaniel, I've got high hopes for.
I don't know, but they've got an identity.
If you're an offensive coach, McVeigh's offense, you could put his players in a silhouette.
And I could watch the plays, not know who's playing in a silhouette and I'd go, oh, yeah, that's his offense.
Same with Kyle Shanahan.
Same with Andy Reid.
Same with Sean Payton.
I can see your offense.
Lincoln Riley at USC.
I can see it know, oh, that's clever.
That's the manipulation of personnel.
formations, variations.
What is this?
I mean, good God.
Even Dan Campbell.
Like Dan Campbell in Detroit.
Former player, you know, sometimes can be a little bit of a meathead.
But you know what?
Unbelievable passion.
Pro player would run through a wall for the organization.
Dan Campbell, whether it works or not, that team gives you, they never quit.
They get down big.
They are never out of a game because of Dan Campbell.
So my takeaway is this is an offensive.
coach. I don't want to hear about, well, he's got to get his guys in. Come on. McVeigh didn't get his
guys in. He went and got a left tackle and had Jared Gough and took him to a Super Bowl. He eventually
upgraded to some guys he liked more. But I think I'm just wrong on this. I just don't see it.
When a coach comes in, you got to be able to get your side of the ball right. Good God,
Oklahoma's giving up five, six hundred yards in a week against TCU, Kansas State. I'm not talking to
against, you know, Georgia. I'm not talking against Ohio State or Notre Dame or LSU. I'm talking.
They're giving up that to like second tier programs. Nathaniel Hackett on the continued Broncos offensive
struggles. Yeah, I mean, we can't go backwards, obviously, especially with some of those penalties and things
like that. I thought that was a great one. I mean, at one point, I think we were first and 30,
battled back and scored on that drive. So the guys are still battling through that. But those are things,
those are self-inflicted wounds, you know, whether it's a blocking pattern.
we're messing up and going backwards or a sack any of those things. We just have to, we got to get
better. And I think that across the board, you know, as an offense, I think we will. Their schedule
has some openings. I mean, if I went and looked their schedule over the next six weeks, there's some
wins there if they can get it right. But just look at Kansas City's offense, how smart and
clever it is, and then watch Denver's and it feels like the opposite. It's like you're watching the
1994 offense. I don't see it. I think I whiffed. I'm pretty much okay with most of my
prediction so far for this year. You know, I got teams like, you know, I had Miami getting in
and the Bengals being a good team and, you know, I had Philadelphia winning their division and
Tampa wins their division and Minnesota being good. I feel pretty good with them. Denver,
I picked them in the division. That's not great. I got to be honest. That wasn't a great prediction by
me. I, this morning, if I do it again, I'd pick them forth. I'm serious. I think I'd pick them
forth. I don't think you can win with this what I see here. You've got to have an identity.
Even if I don't love you, Brandon Staley, Robert Sala, Dan Campbell. The players have to know who
you are. What you are. What are you good at? I don't see it. Big old whip for Uncle Gawlin.
One hour from now, Colin Wright, Colin wrong. Be sure to catch live editions of the herd weekdays

Do you remember when Diana Ross double-tap Little Kim's boobs at the VMAs?
Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people.
I know what you're thinking.
What the hell does George Bush got to do with Little Kim?
Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast.
I'm Sam Jek.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick a here, unpack what went down,
and try to make sense of how we survived it.
Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill,
waxing all about crack in the 80s.
To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack all day, but just so y'all know.
I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack.
So I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now.
Thank you for finishing that sentence.
Yes.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.

we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing.
and we're still chasing it
and we don't know when we've done enough
because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross,
because you find it important to be a good person
while you hear on earth?
Are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely.
And that's two different levels of trust.
I want you to just really be a good person.

So the good news for the Packers, they know their problems.
And we'll get to that in a second.
But self-awareness is very, very important.
And I think Aaron Rogers sees the problem.
But for years and years, we've looked at teams like the Tennessee Titans,
as sort of they've got one way to win.
It's sort of the knock on Garoppolo, right?
You can't get in a shootout and win with Garapolo.
Some people believe it's Lamar Jackson.
There's one way to win.
He's not going to rally you from 21 down.
And those are legitimate criticisms, right?
I think Green Bay for years and years looked at all those teams and thought,
we can beat you a lot of different ways.
They've become one of them.
The box score looks beautiful.
24 first downs, 450 yards, dominate times.
of possession, very few penalties. We don't, we think they're smart. But with Aaron, Matt LaFleur,
the best running back tandem in the league in a bad division, they're like 22nd and scoring in
the league. And this is why I don't put them in my top 10. Jason McIntyre is trying to bully me
into putting them in their top 10. They've beaten a bad Chicago team, Tampa with none of its receivers,
and a third string quarterback, who by the way, took them to overtime. And as long as Aaron
is the quarterback and playing with rookie.
receivers, his personality is you make a mistake, I'll punish you. You saw it yesterday. Romeo Dobbs
fumbled early, ghosted him for two quarters. Lefleur had to go back to reverses to get Christian
Watson the ball. He's not going to do it. It's not his personality. It's not his DNA. And that's who
he is. You know, that's just not who Aaron is. He's a brilliant thrower of the football. It looks
different. Fastest release since Dan Marino. He's a Hall of Famer. There's a lot of great with Aaron.
But when Alan Lazzard is your number one, he can't be stubborn.
You can't be.
You've got to get these guys working.
Right now, they don't have the ability of Buffalo.
What Buffalo did yesterday come from behind.
Bengals, Chiefs, Rams, be down 21, not out of a game.
In 2022, you can't stop top quarterbacks.
I mean, Belichick can't force Josh Allen to punt.
To punt.
Look what Belichick did Aaron Rogers yesterday.
Mahomes.
Todd Bowles is one of the best defensive minds in football.
Mahomes up and down the field all last night.
Bailey Zappy was moving the ball up and that's a good Green Bay defense.
That is a good Green Bay defense.
It's why I took Patriots to cover this weekend.
I'm like, these are two running teams.
They can beat you one way.
There's no way I'm giving you nine and a half points.
And so you're going to get into some shootouts.
And I think the Packers have become the Titans, the Ravens, and the Niners with Garoppolo.
And by the way, I love Baltimore.
love San Francisco with Garoppolo, but I do know they can't get down 21-0. They can beat you one way.
And I think Aaron Rogers, to his credit, he sort of knows what they are.
Can't be two-and-two losing to a third-strain quarterback and not playing great in all three phases.
So we had to have this one that doesn't take anything away from the joy of winning,
but this is the one we had to have. This way of winning, I don't think it's sustainable,
because it's just pushed too much pressure on our defense.
And obviously I've got to play better and will play better.
He's right.
And here's the good news.
Aaron sees it and Aaron knows it.
His personality is what it is.
But, I mean, Chicago's bad.
The Patriots.
Ask yourself this, if Mack Jones would have played.
Green Bay doesn't win that game.
That game didn't get to overtime.
That game doesn't get to overtime.
Go ask yourself after watching the Buccaneers.
Go toadow with Kansas City.
if Evans and Godwin are there last week and Julio Jones.
You think Green Bay beats Tampa?
Absolutely no way.
So I think Green Bay's credit, they know it.
The Badgers fired their football coach.
They're two one-dimensional.
Green Bay is two.
They just have one of the great quarterbacks of our lives.
But I just don't see it.
I highly doubt tomorrow there in my top ten.
Should you give Romeo Dobbs some credit,
or give Aaron Rogers credit for going back to Dobbs after the drop,
end of regulation, and he drops the football in the end zone?
Couldn't complete the catch.
Should I give you credit for doing what is necessary?
That's like saying, do you help your wife around the house?
You deserve a lot of credit for, you know, sharing in the duty.
Taking out the trash, right?
Yeah, good for you.
Give me a pat on the back.
Yeah, it's like you have to go to Romeo Dobbs because Alan Lazzard, you won.
Can't just throw to your buddies.
You got to make this puppy work.
And I think over time, hey, here's the good news.
It's ugly and they're winning.
So, I mean, there's worse places to be in the NFL.
It's like Sean McVeigh says, we're winning.
It's not pretty.
So Green Bay is winning, and Aaron's got self-awareness that, like, you can't keep doing this.
But I saw this yesterday with Denver and Green Bay.
Those are really good defenses, and they're tired.
By the end of the game, they're just on the field too long.
J-Mack with a news.
No, no, no, no.
This is the herd-line news.
This is the herd-line news.
Because Jacksonville was your 11.
They lost.
Denver was in the top 10.
They lost.
They're definitely out.
And now the Packers sitting there.
I mean, Green Bay, we're going to have a huge number on this show tomorrow in the state of Wisconsin
college waiting for the excitement.
All right, let's get to the top story.
I can't believe you didn't open the show with this.
The New York Jets go into Pittsburgh.
Zach Wilson makes his debut was phenomenal down the stretch.
He was very good in the fourth quarter.
Clutch as ever.
Excellent.
In the fourth quarter.
Pick six that earlier that was not totally on in the tight end who's been a disaster,
dropped the pass.
But, you know, Zach Wilson started a little rusty.
came back with two late touchdown drives. Jets gutted out for your pick. I think you had them on Friday.
Jets get the 24 to 20 win. They're now two and two. They're above the last place Patriots, 1 and 3.
I will say this. You know I like the GM and I have loved their last two drafts. And I do think
I've said this. Zach Wilson has talent. He's got a really nice art. He's small. I set it out
of the draft. I worry about his health, how long he can last in this league. Basketball is a tall man.
game, football's a big man's game. He's not a big guy. But I'll tell you what, in that second
half against a legendary defensive coach, now I know they're missing T.J. Watt, but I thought his
last two drafts were excellent, accurate, zip on the ball. I felt he was in control. I love this.
I love that little goal line call. I thought that was really clever. I think that was a really
special, but the gritty for Zach, well, that's an A plus. That's an A plus gritty. He throws an A ball.
Yeah. If you're just talking about who throws the 10 best throwers of the football in the
league. He's a top 12 thrower with the football in the NFL. He throws a beautiful ball. But he can be a
hot dog. He's small. A little cavalier with the football in the pocket. Little loose, little casual.
But I thought that was their offensive personnel is very, very interesting. It's not Miami,
but it's way better than New England. He's got something with more. Corey Davis had a nice game.
There is some talent on this Jets offense. Now, Colin, don't want to get too excited about week five.
They host the Dolphins and all signs point to it being Teddy Bridgewater. No, I take the Jets.
Jets are three-point underdogs.
I would take the Jets again.
I'm going to ride the Jets till the jet lands.
The Jets will then be three and two tied with the dolphins ahead of the last place Patriots.
I just got to keep saying that phrase all week.
But this is exciting for the Jets.
Yes.
And listen, you would bang it on New York as a guy born in New York.
Remember in August you were like, hey, the Yankees Stink and the Giants.
Let's not go crazy.
The Mets are now circling the drain.
I don't really care about the Mets.
But the Giants, three and one, I don't know if we'll talk about them because that game was unwatched.
I wish the Jets and Giants were playing next weekend because I'd take the Jets.
Okay.
Well, we got the dolphins.
We love to take down the fish.
I can't stand those guys.
All right.
Let's get to the next story.
And this is not as positive.
Baker Mayfield.
Oh, my goodness.
Colin, it was ghastly.
He threw for under 200 yards, two picks.
It's not here in the stats, but they had it on the broadcast.
He had nine balls batted down.
It was weird.
Colin, he leads the league in that category of the last four years.
Like, this is bad for Baker Mayfield.
You know, we talked about this yesterday.
No, it's over.
The career's over.
I do feel like this is not a guy suited to hold a clipboard for a couple of years.
It's really funny.
Where are all the he's way better than Sam Darnold guys?
That's my problem with Baker's fan base.
When I'm wrong, I own it.
When you're wrong, you disappear.
I kept hearing he was way bad.
First of all, he's smaller than Darnold.
He's not as athletic as Darnold.
And Darnold doesn't get that ball batted down like that.
I'm not saying Darnold is this or Darnold's that.
But all I had to hear was, oh, Baker's a significant upgrade.
Dude, this is what he is without a good old.
line, an undersized quarterback with an average arm that's not as athletic as he thinks he is.
And it gets worse. He had some comments after about the booze. I mean, they were booing him in like
the early third quarter and it was relentless. Here's what Baker said about the boo-birds.
Obviously, I'm frustrated with the fact that we're one and three. I mean, that's it, though.
We're four weeks into the year. We can sit here and let you guys pile on us or we're going to
come together as a locker room. That's exactly how we're going to handle it. I don't really
care about the fact that our fans are booing or what's
going on. We're going to figure it out. And when we win, it'll still be just us in the locker
room. And that's really all I care about. So we're going to be just fine. I like to keep it positive,
Colin. That's a little delusion. Whatever. Let's be honest. I mean, not only are they bad now,
but he's like refusing to accept how putrid he was. Like he was, like, if Sam Darnel were
healthy, if Matt Castle were healthy, I think Baker would have been benched. When I used to criticize
him, I'd say, grow up, you're never going to get an offensive line and a running
back tandem the rest of your career as good as Cleveland.
Kareem Hunt, Nick Chubb out of line.
And I kept saying it over and over.
This is why I bang on the Johnny Mansells or the bakers for being immature out of college,
James Winston, because when you come out of college, you don't make any money.
And your team can stack the deck.
Jared Goff, they stacked the deck, they got to a Super Bowl.
You can pay everybody.
Justin Herbert.
You can go get a Kalil Mack, a J.C. Jackson.
You can stack the deck.
this offensive line in Carolina, that's the league average.
And Baker's not the kind of talent, like a Josh Allen or a Lamar Jackson or Herbert,
that can overcome.
I mean, yesterday Herbert had no left tackle, no Keenan Allen.
What's it matter?
It's 21-3.
Like, the great ones are solutions.
So this is, I don't want to pile on it.
I'm done with Baker.
I wish he would just not play.
That way I don't have to talk about it.
Yeah.
PJ Walker, Matt Rule was so upset that he didn't really comment on how bad Baker was.
He's like, I got to watch the film.
Bro, there's nothing to watch.
Yeah.
It was ugly.
All right.
Final story.
College football.
Georgia, man, this was a rough one for the Georgia Bulldog.
They needed a fourth quarter comeback to beat Missouri,
and they dropped from number one in the rankings, Colin.
Alabama now takes over the top spot despite their quarterback Bryce Young Day.
They should.
Georgia is one-dimensional.
Stetson Bennett's a nice kid.
He's a college quarterback.
But Missouri and Kent State have both given you a little roadmap here.
They can't throw the football on their terms.
If you can just stack the box and say,
Throw it down.
If you have decent corners, which Alabama does, just say, we're going to stack the box.
Throw it over our head.
They can't do it.
Georgia's a one-dimensional offense.
The counter with Georgia falling is like, does it even matter?
Alabama and Georgia are one to whatever order you want to put them.
They're the top two teams in the country.
Would you agree with that?
I thought, right now this morning, if Ohio State looks at that Georgia-Missouri film,
I think Ohio State beats Georgia because they have good enough pro-cornerers.
No, I'm serious.
We have to watch the games.
I watched 75% of the Georgia game.
They're one-dimensional.
Ohio State's not one-dimensional.
Alabama's not one-dimensional.
Michigan's not one-dimensional.
USC's not.
Clemson can be.
But Georgia looks to me like they're going to beat up on everybody.
They're going to face Bama in Ohio State.
And those teams are built to say, beat us over the top.
We have NFL corners.
And I don't think Stets and Bennett can do it.
I would agree with Bennett.
He's limited, but let's not fall under the trap of like last week's result is everything.
This is a team that smacked Oregon.
Was it 52 to 3?
Yeah, but Oregon didn't know about their limitations throwing.
If Oregon played them again today, it would be a closer game.
It would be a different game, yeah.
So rounding out the top 10, we have Ohio State at 3, Michigan 4.
I think nobody would disagree with that.
Clemson at 5.
Clemson looked pretty good.
They've had a couple of ACC battles the last couple weeks.
USC number 6 checking in.
By the way, so Oklahoma State's a really good program.
Go look at Oklahoma's schedule today.
Dead serious.
Baylor's going to beat him.
Texas this, they'll never stop Texas.
At Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Kansas now is a real team.
Why are we talking about Oklahoma again?
Because I saw Oklahoma State.
Oklahoma may lose four of the next five games.
Yeah, they're not good.
Tennessee 8, Ole Miss, 9 after the win over Kentucky.
Jackson Dart.
Penn State somehow, 10th in the country.
No, Kentucky's better than Penn State.
I think the team the focus on here, Colin, is Clemson.
Are they going to crack the playoff?
Because right now they're sitting on the outside in.
Ohio State and Michigan, one of those.
two will lose, obviously, in the big game. And we know Alabama and Georgia are in, but do you see
Clemson losing a game? Because somebody would need to lose besides the top four for USC to get it.
Well, I don't think USC is not going to go to Utah and win.
Utah will win that game by, I think Utah is built. They are literally built to expose the
weaknesses defensively of UFC. Lincoln Riley, your guy's been hearing that for a month.
All around the country, everybody says, oh, Utah's got.
Utah is the best team in the conference. That doesn't mean they can't go to Florida in the SEC and lose.
But look at what Utah did to Oregon State, a solid bowl team this weekend.
Roll them.
Utah is a top 20 team O&D, special teams.
Utah is built to not only beat USC, but if USC falls behind in that game,
their tight ends, their ability to run, they have a quarterback who can,
Utah is the best team in the conference.
I think by a margin.
J-MAC with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.
The herd-line news.
So, you know, I'm watching the Cowboys yesterday.
And you know you have a star quarterback.
That when you take the star quarterback in his backup, the gap is the Grand Canyon.
Like, if I take Josh Allen's backup is Case Keenham, they don't even physically look close.
Lamar Jackson's backup is Tyler Huntley.
Justin Herbert's is Chase Daniel.
Patrick Mahomes is Chad Henney.
Like literally, you have to change the offense when the backup quarterback comes in.
That's when you have a star quarterback.
You can do things with Lamar and Mahalms and Herbert and Burrow and Alan.
Your backup can't even do.
You take plays out of the offense.
When you watch the Cowboys,
Dak leaves and Cooper Rush comes in.
It's the same offense.
I think Dak's better than Cooper.
He's better.
But it's not quite as wide a gap as you want,
considering at one point,
Dak was the, what, highest-paid quarterback in the league?
So, you know, when's the last time you watched the game?
and went wow with DAC.
I mean, you're not going to watch Cooper Rush and go, wow, but I don't do that with
Dak.
So, I mean, this weekend, I saw Josh Allen, Herbert, Mahomes, Brady like, whoa, make whoa
plays.
It's like a Rolex.
Like, I'm not a big watch guy.
But if I want to spend $15,000 or whatever a Rolex cost, $15,000, I want to put it
in my wrist and people go up and go, woo, that guy done well.
otherwise I just you know otherwise I'll put something on like I've usually had most of my life that
cost 40 bucks it's I'm just keeping time right so so you know with Josh Allen and my
homes I'm paying that money for that Rolex but I'm going whoa that's different that's unique
Dak he's better than Cooper Rush but I I don't see I don't see this big gap you can run the
exact same offense with Cooper Rush that you can run
with Dak. If Case
Keenham came in for Josh Allen, you think
Case Keenom's running around 11 times a game?
And no.
You think Chase Daniels? They're going to run
as many deep routes with Chase Daniels
as Justin Herbert. And no.
Cooper and Dak, it's the same offense.
It's kind of the same offense.
Jerry Jones, after the game on the
unexpected play, Renaissance
of Cooper Rush.
He's got a lot of confidence
in the
offense that he knows where the cars are on the freeway. And he's got, to his credit,
he, in the passing game, he can get the ball there. He gets a good ball to the receivers.
They've got confidence in him. It's amazing. And it's far more than I could have ever expected.
Yeah, he's a very, very capable backup. And that's what I've said, by the way, with Tua and Teddy
Bridgewater. So Bridgewater is going to probably play this week. I think two,
is better than Teddy Bridgewater.
Inch.
You can run the exact same offense.
You can run the exact same offense.
That's where you don't want to pay a quarterback $40 million.
I want to pay a quarterback.
I want the Rolex.
That doesn't look like any other watch.
I want the, yeah, nobody else can do it.
I mean, Patrick Mahomes goes out.
You're not doing left-headed passes.
You're not, the offense changes.
By the way, Steph Curry hits the bench.
You're not letting the other guy shoot 28-footers.
I don't mind paying big money.
But you've got to give me some wow.
I got to see it.
And, you know, by the way,
DAC now comes back at the Rams at Philly.
They're not winning those games.
Right?
I'm not trying to be controversial here.
They're not going to win at Philly, for sure.
I don't think they're going to win at L.A. either.
I don't know.
Maybe short week they have a chance, but I don't think we should have a quarterback controversy.
But if that goes 0 and 2, we're going to have a quarterback controversy.
That's just, you know, Jerry's going to be there poking it.
and stoking it and getting it all fired up.

Do you remember when Diana Ross
double-tap Little Kim's boobs at the VMAs?
Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people.
I know what you're thinking.
What the hell does George Bush got to do with Little Kim?
Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast.
I'm Sam J.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick it here, unpack what went down,
and try to make sense of how we survived it.
Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill,
waxing all about crack in the 80s.
To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so y'all know.
I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode
where we've discussed crack, so I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now, so.
Thank you for finishing that sentence.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.

Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing,
we get so wrapped up in the chase
that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing.
And we're still chasing it.
And we don't know when we've done enough.
Because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross.
Because you find it important to be a good person
while you hear on earth.
Are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions.
bro. Absolutely. And that's two different levels of trust. I want you to just really be a good person.

Michael Vic, what a pleasure. Four-time Pro Bowl with the former number one pick 13 years. We never get him in studio, it seems like. And boom, he stayed over.
instead of flying back to Fort Lauderdale, Fox Sports NFL analysts.
Let's start with this, Michael.
You were in Philadelphia for half a decade.
That town loves their winners.
They will support you.
You and Jalen Hertz are different players, but there are similarities.
You move well.
You can also throw a pretty deep ball.
So I'm watching them play, and I think we're all in our business reluctant to go,
that's the best team in football.
But Jacksonville has got a great front seven.
And they didn't get their hands on Jalen Hertz much.
I buy Philly.
I mean, I'm bored in, too.
I've been bored in since about week two.
And it's because the way they're jailing right now, especially up front, the offensive line is playing amazing.
And yesterday, to see Miles Sanders step in and rush for over 150 yards, I think that was the final piece to the puzzle.
Yes.
And it's a lot to build on in regards to where Jayden Hertz can go, Miles Sanders, AJ Brown, the entire offense.
And with the defense coming along, it just seems like, you know, they're finding their niche early.
They look like they're in mid-season form.
And I respect what they're doing right now.
And they just, they're putting it in the hands of Jalen Hertz, but they also allow him to play freely.
By the way, they have developed a running game in the second year with Nick Siriani as a coach.
Buffalo has a defensive coach.
Six years, they still can't develop a running game.
So this is a great example of, I think your point, Miles Sanders is the final piece.
So they can run the ball, control the clock,
and Jalen doesn't have to take hits.
Josh Allen, if he's not running the ball,
they don't run the ball.
So you have to develop.
Did you ever have a great running game?
Fortunately for me, I've always had a great running game,
whether in Philly or in Atlanta.
And if I didn't, I instantly felt the pressure of having to do more.
You did.
Yeah.
See, that's the problem.
Yeah, and if you look at the teams around the league that won yesterday,
most of them ran the ball effect.
Most of them ran for over 125 yards.
Kansas City, Green Bay.
Philly, you know, they all rushed for over 150 yards or somewhere around that that ballpark number
and they won the game convincingly.
It's hard for me to sometimes tell the difference between a good coach and a great coach.
I don't know if Zach Taylor is going to be a great coach.
I think he's a good coach.
But I can see not working.
Like I can see Ben McAdoo with the New York Giants and go, that ain't working.
Right, right, right, right.
Or Steve Wilkes in Arizona.
I was like, it's not working.
Right.
So I'm watching Nathaniel Hackett, and here's my issue.
Whether I think you're a great coach or not, take Robert Sol with the Jets.
He's got an identity.
Yeah.
Big energy.
Tough guy.
Whether it works, he's got an identity.
I watch Denver's offense now.
Yeah.
I don't know what they are.
Oh, man, Colin.
I mean, just a lot of idle football.
Like, it's like they want to have an identity of running the football, but also they want to let
Russell do his thing. And it's like they stuck in between how do we maximize what we can get
out of our offense. And I think ultimately it starts with Russell. And he's going to be
multi-dimensional within the offense. I think it's key to get the ground game going, but he does
have some weapons around him. He has some receivers and he has a decent tight end. He has some guys
that can play. But it's like, what is this offense really going to be at the end of the day?
Or by the time the third quarter come, we know what they expect. We know Russell cooking or they've
running the ball effectively.
And we're just not getting that.
So he threw two beautiful deep balls yesterday.
He led him in rushing.
I don't think he's washed.
And the reason I don't is because his three best years were 2018, 2019, 2020.
And even last year when he hurt his finger, he was good at the end.
I don't think he's washed.
I've seen him recently 18 months ago be dominant.
Yeah.
Do you think he's lost a step?
I think he's aging.
And I watch him really, really close.
and just his mannerisms, the way he moved, the way he gets outside of the pocket,
all the things that we were accustomed to seeing Russell do in Seattle when he was at his
the height of his career, his pinnacle.
And it's a step slower, you know, because, like I said, I'm watching closely,
and it's not the same, you know, spin out of the pocket and maneuver the pocket and make
three or four guys miss.
It's not looking heroic like it used to be.
And that's okay.
you know, with time as you age, you know, you're not going to do the same things effectively.
And now he needs a little bit more.
Now he needs a receiver that he can rely on.
Now he needs some turnovers on defense and those subtle things that happen that can help change the course of the game.
And he's just going to need help.
It's not going to be easy for him in Denver.
It's going to be a long road to success for him.
Okay, so you had different styles, but there are some similarities.
when did you know, because Russell's now getting early 30s,
did you notice, Mike, that you couldn't outrun that whip linebacker?
I mean, what was the age where you were like,
I've gotten hit in the hips too many times?
It was around the age of 30, 31 where, you know,
and it's the post-game effect.
It's Monday and Tuesday trying to get your body ready to go on Wednesday,
Thursday for practice, and then ready for a game on Sunday.
And, you know, you get to a point with men's.
you're like, all right, today I'm going to go out and I'm just going to try to pass it.
I'm not trying to move around a lot.
I'm trying to, you know, I'm going to work the pocket and I'm going to be a pro, the consummate pro,
but I'm trying to limit the hits and the amount of pounding that I'm taking.
And unfortunately, in the National Football League, it's just not going to happen.
You're going to get hit.
You might get sacked seven times.
You might get pressure and hurry 10 to 15 times.
You can't control that.
And so it starts to take a toll on your mentor and your psyche.
And, you know, you've got to find a way to fix it quickly or else.
you started to lose interest.
Yeah.
Michael Vic joining us.
So I want to talk, and I don't think this is a great team, but I will say this.
Give me your interpretation of Zach Wilson or the Jets because I thought he had a great
fourth quarter.
Very encouraging.
I've always been a big fan of Zach.
I think we talked about it a couple years ago when he was coming out.
I think he has a tremendous upside.
I think he's yet to, I mean, obviously yet to hit his ceiling.
Good arm.
Good arm talent.
I like the way he move around.
I like his maneuverability.
I think he has a great feel for the game.
Having a chance to be around Joe Flacco
is going to be a key to his success.
It's going to be a great key to his success.
Yeah, just have a guy in front of you that's a veteran or behind you
who's just giving you that input on a day-to-day basis.
I think about Gino Smith and him spending time with Eli Manning
and Philip Rivers.
And now he's starting to blossom into a quarterback that we know he could be 10 years later.
That's because he's had the tutelage.
He's had a general understanding of what it takes to play the position.
I think just in a short amount of time for Zach Wilson,
having a chance to watch Joe,
finding the love for the game again because he's a young player.
And, you know, sometimes when you have injuries
and things get snatched away from, you quick,
you start to appreciate that position.
And when you get back in there, you're like,
I'm going to put forth the best effort and I'm going to make sure I give it
everything I got when I get back out there.
And I'm going to be on top of my game.
and I'm going to win games.
That's his attitude now.
You know, I've said this about people like Baker Mayfield,
that quarterback's very unique.
I don't want you to be a wildly emotional player.
Right.
You've got to just forget your last interception.
And that doesn't mean you're not emotional,
but you've got to be a little bit even keel.
You got to care.
Yeah.
Okay.
So it's a fair knock.
Lamar Jackson's a very emotional player.
Yeah.
And I've started to notice something a little bit.
If he has a bad pick,
he gets really down on himself.
He starts to try too hard to make something happen.
And again, it's correctable, but he's a very emotional.
I mean, he'll pound his fist on.
And is it a fair criticism that sometimes go back to your career?
When you're emotional, what happens is one bad series becomes a second, a third, and a fourth.
That sometimes, I always thought Andrew Luck's greatest talent.
He just got over stuff.
I mean, that staffer just gets over stuff.
Tom Brady just gets over stuff.
Pick six next series.
Just keep it moving.
And, you know, I've been a guy who has sometimes struggled in that area because I care so much.
Lamont, he wears emotions on his sleeve because he cares so much and the burden is on them.
And it's a real thing of being the guy.
Like, he's the guy.
And when you take on that responsibility and those pressures, you know, you're adding some unwarranted pressure that you don't really need.
And that's why you got 10 other players around you to help you become or be every week when you, when you,
you win games, it's not because of you.
It's because of the talent around you.
Right.
So don't, like, beat yourself up about it.
You know, you got to go to the sideline.
You got to reevaluate and you got to figure out what works.
And I think Lamar has just...
He's still young.
He's so young and he loves the win.
And he wants to obtain so many things that we all want, you know,
whether it's money, whether it's winning to championship.
You know, all those things are great.
But, you know, when you're going through the motions
and when you're going through this process and playing the quarterback,
position, you know, take time to evaluate yourself and don't be so hard on yourself and know that
it's all about the next play. It's all about the next weekend. You're going to get another shot to go
at it again, just learn from your mistakes. Yeah, no, and I think it's really correctable,
but I think we forget this. I mean, Lamar came out. He was young. Yeah. He was younger a year later.
He was MVP and there were guys coming into the league that were older than him. Yeah, he was young and
raw. Yeah. And when you're young, I can say this with a lot of kids. Younger people have a lot of
emotions. A bad day becomes a bad. Three days becomes a bad week. But I do see he kind of gets into these.
You can see the body language and I think he'll get over it. Michael Vic, Fox Sports. Great having you
in studio. Thanks for having me. Where Colin was right, where Colin was wrong. A lot of both on a Monday,
