Starting point is 00:01:47 Just a little bit bigger hips. This is a podcast. We're recording it as we tailgate our youth soccer games in the back of my Honda Odyssey. With all the snacks and drinks. Why did you get hard seltzer instead of beer? Oh, they had a bogo. Well, then you got it. Listen to soccer moms on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Find your local station for Covito Enrich at Fox SportsR.com or stream us live every day on the IHeartRadio app by searching FSR. Yo, I'm feeling good today. Let's go. I was feeling good until you got all hyped up. Wednesday. What are you so happy about? I want to punch you in the face.
Starting point is 00:03:12 Why are you so happy? I mean, happy? I mean, I was happy, but now I'm trying to match your happiness. Why are you so happy? Good luck. I'm kind of happy the Yankees won for you. I'm happy about that. I was watching the Mets game on my phone at the gym,
Starting point is 00:03:26 and I jumped up mid-pick deck. when Starling Marte hit a walk-off. And Marte dumps one into center field. Seven straight, best record in baseball. And forget our bet.
Starting point is 00:03:52 I'm just saying, I know it's early. And we're going to talk about early vibes of Major League baseball, but five games up on the Phillies any time of the year is fine with me. I mean, I know people say,
Starting point is 00:04:05 well, only April. But if your team falls too far behind, Like candlebox? Yeah, then I don't know. I feel like you're chasing the whole year. So very rarely does my team jump out hot like this. So, hey, Mets won today.
Starting point is 00:04:19 A lot of baseball, a lot of NBA playoffs, NFL drafts tomorrow. So a lot to be happy about if you're a sports fan. That's why you're happy. I see. All right. So that's Rich Davis. I'm Steve Kavino. We do have a bet who's going to have the best record at the end of the season,
Starting point is 00:04:34 the better record, Yankees or the Mets. Mets on fire right now. Danny G, the Dodgers guy. He's on the phones at 87799 on Fox. Doing a good day in the market today. Look at your stocks. All right. So you were doing the peck deck, huh?
Starting point is 00:04:47 The pecks for sex, huh? Look at you doing the curls for the girls. And Iowa, Sam, he's got the curls for the girls. Oh, you know it. Look at those curls, man. You're like curly Sue. He's got that curly hair going on Iowa, Sam. Spots on the videos, getting ready for midweek major.
Starting point is 00:05:03 We do it every Wednesday? Do you believe it's Wednesday? We're halfway there already. So it's the biggest stories in the world of sports. and pop culture. We do it today. Plus, DB is hanging out with us. Always great to hang with the great Dan Byer.

So a big roundtable fun tomorrow doing it live here at the Fox Sports Radio studio presented by Express Pro. There'll be a video simulcast on the Fox Sports Radio YouTube page. So check that all out. Now, I'm going to take a deep breath. Come off my Mets, Phillies High.
Starting point is 00:06:02 You don't have to celebrate it. Enjoy it while you can. It's a long season. Yeah, because you know your team's going to get hot. and called it. Just how it is. No doubt there'll be a time where the Mets lose seven or no, I'm sure. No, really? That's why you should enjoy it. I meant that.
Starting point is 00:06:17 I want to ask you a question a little off the sports grid for a second, but not really. Sure. And then I want people to start thinking about this. Let's give props. We're calling it early season props. Plus, Rich has a theory about what does the beginning of the season really mean as far as MLB? As the NBA playoffs heating up, again, I hope you had a Pacers, Thunders, Lakers sort of You know, baseball is popping. Thunders? I don't think I did.
Starting point is 00:06:44 But thanks for pointing it out and interrupting me. I think you did. Very Jersey. Appreciate it. Baseball's popping. So who are we giving props to? Because I got someone I want to nominate. And we'll go through some of the circus numbers we're seeing early in the season. But my first question is, it's mildly sports related because they just announced the Golden Bachelor.
Starting point is 00:07:07 There's a new golden bachelor and his name is Mel Owens, former University of Michigan football star turned L.A. Ram, right? Turned L.A. Ram in the 80s. He retired, had an injury, became a lawyer. He's a lawyer. And he's now slaying some old lady booty. So, no, I'm glad you said that. That's my question. If you had the opportunity, if you're a single guy or divorced and you had the opportunity to go on national television and just make out with a bunch of things. bunch of hot people. But you were criticized. The narrative is so many people hate the moves you make
Starting point is 00:07:43 and who you pick. Would you sign up if you're Mel Owens to be the Golden Bachelor? He's going to, I mean, he's going to be just going on all these cool dates and making out with old hotties. I don't think so. Is that a world you would want to be part of? He could kind of do that
Starting point is 00:07:59 in his own way. Yeah, but not to this level. With all the apps, there's old, what's the old guy dating app? Is there an old guy? You're probably on that one, right? is there an old guy dating at? What is it called? Oh, Farmers Only? Old Farmers only.
Starting point is 00:08:15 I don't know. Old McDonald's only. Oh, I know what it is. I'm sorry. Some fish left. There's several. Some fish left. Near death.com.
Starting point is 00:08:23 There's our time. There's date my age. There's a match. Yeah. All senior match. Silver singles? Are you on all of you? He's still a silver fox.
Starting point is 00:08:31 Yes, I am. And he still has that sweet resume. So he doesn't need to go on TV unless he's, unless he wants the payday, and there's nothing wrong with that either. I think it's a question, Rich, that really depends on the person. It's like, I'm not that kind of guy. I've said for years, if ABC asked me to be on Dancing with the Stars, I politely declined. Even though it's a nice payday, I'd be like, no, not my style.
Starting point is 00:08:54 And I don't want to be viewed that way. I would feel uncomfortable, and I would feel uncomfortable doing something like that. So it's a case-by-case situation just depends on who you are and how you are. and a ham like you, I could see you leaning into that, but not me. Is he on? It's almost over. That's another old person dating up. It's almost over.
Starting point is 00:09:13 It's almost over. I've fallen and I can't get up. Yeah, that's a good one. Fallen. That's the very old person app. But I asked that because I just saw the headline that they have a new golden bachelor. I think it's cool though. I think it's fun for him.
Starting point is 00:09:27 I don't watch, and I'm not saying I'm above reality TV, but my wife and I over the years have watched The Bachelor, love is blind. Danny, you've turned me on to what? Like too hot to handle, temptation island? A lot of these dumbshelers, right? Yeah. And of course, our favorite, love is blind.
Starting point is 00:09:42 That is the one I said it, yeah. So my wife and I will always joke, and my wife's like, you in your 20s would have love this because it's just a bunch of like random idiotic 20-year-old just making out and hooking up. But then what happens is you re-enter the real world and it's probably a shock. Because imagine you're the bachelor. 25 women. even if they don't like you, they're competitive juices like you.
Starting point is 00:10:07 So all these girls want to make out with you, they want to go on fantasy dates, you're propped up. You're sort of put on a pedestal. Yeah, you know, so you're in a great position of, of allure. I don't want to say power, but power too. Kind of power, but you're putting this position that,
Starting point is 00:10:22 oh, you're somebody and they need to have you. And therefore, they fall in love of you quicker as a result. We see it on all these shows. It's crazy. You had this last. bachelor who they claimed was a professional basketball player. He played professional basketball, but like in Europe and here and there. You should have seen all these ladies fighting over him.
Starting point is 00:10:43 Like he was the greatest guy that ever was. And listen, I'm sure he could be a great guy. I'm sure. My point is, if you are put in the power position of the golden or regular bachelor, it's you handing out roses and all these beautiful women like, please, I hope he gets me a rose. It's a position you'll never be in in your life again. But that'll be like go to the bar. Imagine you go to the bar, and every girl at the bar is like,
Starting point is 00:11:07 please dance at me, please buy me a drink. It's a very interesting scenario, and I just saw that the new Golden Bachelor happens to be a former football player. Well, remember this. Aside from being radio tycoons, it says it on our business card, and sports enthusiasts,
Starting point is 00:11:23 you know, we're relationship experts. It's facts. I mean, we used to be on Maxim Radio. Rich is a life coach. Says it on his business card. Life coach. We've always said in the world of dating, if you really want to impress somebody,
Starting point is 00:11:38 you take him to places or you show off where you shine the brightest, right? So if you're in a band, you invite her to your show because she's going to look at you in your element where you're most confident and you're shining the brightest. Like, oh my God, his band's going to make it. Or, you know, wherever you were the man, If it's at the pool hall, you take her there and show her your Minnesota Fats.
Starting point is 00:12:02 Whatever it is you do, you're a good dancer. You go out and dance. He's like, oh, my God. He's like John Travolta. And then she's going to fall in love with you. He's like Chris Brown. He's amazing. So wherever you shine the brightest, that's where you show off and you do your thing.
Starting point is 00:12:20 It always works. So I just wondered if you ask most grown men. And that's why these bachelors are putting in that position. These women are loving them. I'm just saying if you ask most grown men, yeah, you can be young and be on The Bachelor, or nowadays, there's the Golden Bachelor. So if you're divorced, got grown kids, or you're just a single guy that's like 50, 60, 70, there's dating shows, and I wonder, is that appealing?
Starting point is 00:12:42 Especially when everyone talks about how lonely they are and how the dating world. It's not for everybody. Every single person I talk to talks about how miserable the apps are and like, yeah, it sounds good at first, but it sucks. Well, you answer the question. Would you do it? If I was a single guy, I would love to do it. If you're Mel Owens, NFL, former NFL star, would you do something like that? God forbid your wife.
Starting point is 00:13:05 If my wife left me? Left you 20 years from now. I think Mel Owens is a guy that played in the NFL, had glory days in the 80s where he played, you know, on an NFL field. Successful lawyer since. He's older and handsome. You don't think there's a, they don't think there's something fun about saying, hey man, this guy's what, 60, 70 years old and 25 attractive older women
Starting point is 00:13:25 are all going to fight for him? Rich, would you be willing to follow the show's template, though, and cry once it's down to the final two, cry on camera and say, I just can't decide between the two. I fall in love with. There's always the promo. I fall in love with three women. Yeah, at the beginning of the season. He tried to get all three women into the overnight suite with him. The same fantasy suite.
Starting point is 00:13:44 The same fantasy suite. Can I take all three? Same night, please. I can't do it. And it shows them walking off camera. So again, I just think it's case by case. I don't think I'd be comfortable in that element because I think. think you could do the same in the privacy of your own home without being judged for
Starting point is 00:14:02 whatever it is you're doing on television. No, it's just a thought I figured I throw out there. But the payday's nice because, you know, they're not doing this for free. Yeah, but I don't, they're not getting paid a ton, but I think after the show's over, those people could do like appearances and make money. But I think it's more about just all the, you know, if you're okay and you could deal with online haters and trolls, you just get to go to cool places
Starting point is 00:14:28 and hook up with hot women. That's what The Bachelor does. It's an odd three months. And it's an accepted thing, which is crazy. You're getting to date 25 different women. So props to Mel Owens, he's the athlete of the... You know what? When we do our Express Pros Pro the Week,
Starting point is 00:14:46 he wins because he gets to make out with whoever he wants. Yeah, 25 attractive middle-aged to older women. Mel Owens. Sorry, it's not Luca. after his performance last night, Mel Owens for slaying it with the old ladies. So we already got that covered. Cross that off.
Starting point is 00:15:00 Yeah. Express Pro the week. Mel Owens. Now I want you to put your thinking cap on. So question one, is that something you would do? Hey, if you didn't have your fun as a young man, I say why not? But again, I think it depends on your personality type. I don't need that camera up my nose in a personal moment.
Starting point is 00:15:20 Rich lives for that. I mean, I'm a married guy. You're a single guy. I mean, I know you have a girlfriend, but have you found yourself single. I'm saying hypothetically, if you were in that, if you had that opportunity, you'd say no thanks. I wouldn't do it. I wouldn't want to do it. So I ask you this.
Starting point is 00:15:36 Your Mets played early today. Yankees played early today. A lot of early games today. I hate that random Thursday day off tomorrow. A lot of teams are off tomorrow. I hate that. I hate when you missed the early game. And I hate when your team's off.
Starting point is 00:15:52 They can't play every day. I don't. I expect that. Kvino wants 180. He wants 180 games. So I caught the tail end of the Yankees game today. And Judge is just being judge. Can we please just say once and for all that he might be the greatest right-handed
Starting point is 00:16:08 hitter of all time? Dude, he's batting 415. Of all time. He's one of right-handed. I said right-handed hitters. You know he hits bombs, but he's more than just hitting bombs. He's batting 4-15 now, okay? But Aaron Judge is Aaron Judge.
Starting point is 00:16:24 Everybody talks about Aaron Judge. He's a superstar. He'd be the number one answer if it wasn't for Shohei El Tani as far as popularity. And he does everything right. He's like Herman Munster and Pinch Stripes. Everything he hits, he destroys. He hits a fly ball to the wall. 415.
Starting point is 00:16:43 So forget about the bombs. These are circus numbers. But there's another guy in the Yankees who's not hitting bombs. But I'm so impressed by. and nobody's talking about it. Okay, so I want to bring it up. And it's not about the Yankees. Yankees, schmankies.
Starting point is 00:16:59 Who cares about them? Me, but not everybody, and I get it. So this is your chance to give early season prompts to whoever it is. Like, you know, I didn't expect anything from this guy. And man, he's lighting it up. Or I really like how he plays. Or, hey, you know, we haven't heard much about him. I'm telling you, I watch him day and day out.
Starting point is 00:17:17 And he's really impressive. I want to know from your experience, It's a nationwide show. We're not watching your team every night the way we're watching our team. We see the highlights. So who do you want to give early season props to? And Rich has a theory about early season props. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:33 And my nomination is this. And it's not Aaron Judge, even though he's having a ridiculous start. Is it a Yankee? It is a Yankee. Of course. Well, that's why I'm opening it up to everybody. I'm supposed to nominate someone else. I don't care about your Mets or Danny G's Dodgers or our boss's twins.
Starting point is 00:17:50 That's their job. It's an inclusive show. You tell me. I'm telling you. Let's chop it up. There's a guy who's been a All-Star forever, but I've never seen him play day in, day out. That's the difference.
Starting point is 00:18:04 You know who's good, but when you see him every day, it's different. It's like dating a girl. Yeah, she's great till you live with her. Then you really see the truth. I'm seeing the truth about an All-Star who's been in the league for 15 years. I knew he was great. great, but seeing him hit, I don't think he has a weakness, at least not yet. So my early season props goes to a guy that you all know that I've only experienced for the
Starting point is 00:18:35 first time this season. And his name is Paul Goldschmidt. Paul Goldschmidt, you probably look past because his name's kind of corny. I don't know. It doesn't have a ring to it. It's gold. No, batting. It's not Paul Braunschmidt.
Starting point is 00:18:48 So Paul Goldschmidt. Yeah, but he's just like an everyday, he's not, there's no flare with him. That's really it, right? He's a boring. Yeah, he's a boring star. This guy has no weakness. If you're going to say his weakness is power, his power numbers are down because he has one home run, but they're going to come and ask what the Yankees keep saying.
Starting point is 00:19:09 They're going to come. That's just going to happen. This dude is batting 383 and has 33 hits, actually 36 hits this season already, if I'm not mistaken, if we count the three today. Every time he's up, he does something impressive. I haven't seen a week at bat or like a throwaway at bat. You see dudes taking bad swings or they get caught looking. It's like, what a waste of an at bat.
Starting point is 00:19:31 This guy, first time I'm ever watching them day and day out, is so impressive. I got to give early season props to a guy who's batting 383, only second to judge who's at 415. 383 to a guy that they thought was washed. Paul Goldschmidt still got. Got it. That's my nomination. Again, early, but... Dude, he's still 383.
Starting point is 00:19:54 383. I think a couple guys that deserve props. I won't start with my team. I'll start with other teams. Oh, you're so great. Well, because, I mean, it's very easy to say a guy in your team. Oh, you're so great. You're the best. But the guy on my team would be a great answer. Pete Alonzo. I mean, the guy's lighting it up. He's has more, you know, RBI than anyone.
Starting point is 00:20:12 But I don't even look at Paul Goldschmidt really as a Yankee yet. That dude's a diamond back. So Arizona. or Cardinals. I'm giving you props to your guy. I always knew he was great, but to watch him every day is a different story. He does not throw away that bat, and he seems to be a great teammate.
Starting point is 00:20:32 He's like no hassles. And he's a guy that doesn't have a lot of flair or excitement about him. So I feel it's my duty to be like, yo, what a guy. What a guy. I know I'm 15 years late to the party, but props to him. He's only second to judge in the AL.
Starting point is 00:20:50 I think a guy, offensively, there's a couple of guys that get shoutouts. San Francisco giant Wilmer Flores. That's, yeah, he's having a season. Who's a guy that historically been like a utility guy. Best known for crying when he got dished by the Mets. Fourth outfielder type of guy, seven home runs, 25 RBI, and we're in April. Another guy. Tyler Sotom on the A's.
Starting point is 00:21:14 That's exactly who I was going to bring out. I mean, we saw him play live. The guy's got a stroke. Unknown lefty because he's on the A's. Batting 21, nine home runs, almost 20 RBI. He's a young stud. And if you want to go West Coast, Danny, I am so impressed with Yamamoto seems like any first year jitters are gone now.
Starting point is 00:21:34 And he's locked in, huh? He's been a monster. And then as far as utility players go, how about Tommy Edmund? He's tearing it up. So good. He, of course, came through clutch last season when the Dodgers equate. hired him.
Starting point is 00:21:47 Dude, I saw his stats recently, and I was like, seriously? Yeah, 19 ribby's already. You know why, too, though? Battened over 300. Yeah, the Dodgers. I don't think there's anything sexy about him. Yeah, he just, he's one of those gamers. In fact, when Shohei was away for the birth of his daughter,
Starting point is 00:22:02 they used Edmund in his place to go DH. So Edmund's really putting smiles on Dodger fan faces right now. He has eight home runs. He's batting 272, 19 RBI. and like Danny G said, just stepping up. And he's a great fielder. Oh, on a side note, I do want to give props. Like I said, seeing someone every day, like Clay Bellinger is having a crappy start, right?
Starting point is 00:22:28 But man, that dude in the field is disgustingly great. Like, he's really great. Did I say Clay? Cody. Cody Bellinger. So anyway, early season props is what we're getting at. And Rich, I know you had a theory based on our old pal Sal Licata. Yeah, Sal Likata who works in New York Radio on TV.
Starting point is 00:22:45 he had a theory and I sort of was thinking about it. I'll tell you what that is after I give one more shout out. To a guy that doesn't need it, but maybe a reminder that went healthy, you see Mike Trout's like back leading the league in offensive categories. Like a healthy Mike Trout is still. Well, do you remember what we said? We predicted just based on what we had seen that we thought it could be a nice comeback season for Trout and Christian Yelich, who had a grand slam last night.
Starting point is 00:23:09 So, you know, early season props. Mike Trout batten 287, eight home runs already. Trouts back to where he was. You know, you're same usual suspects to Kyle Schwabers and the Tatis Jr.'s hitting bombs, but just a lot of fun baseball right out the gate. But here's the question. We won't be sports stat nerdy anymore. This could apply to any sport, football, baseball, basketball.
Starting point is 00:23:35 Early on in the season, do you give much merit when you're about a fifth or even more or even less of the way in? Like right now, baseball, we've played 25 games. That's a nice sample, but still a small sample. Small sample, yeah. In football, after your first three or four games in the NFL, there's teams that are one in three, and you're like, oh. And they could just, they could turn it around, right? When do you start saying, all right, it's for real?
Starting point is 00:24:08 Because the question is right now, can you give someone credit? Well, you'd have to say like a quarter of the season. for whatever the season is, football, baseball, or basketball, because half the season, that's, now you're cutting it close. Well, you have to decide. Are you taking what's happened so far in baseball serious, meaning you can't say, man, Soto's been a bust, and then in the same sentence be like,
Starting point is 00:24:29 did you see Goldschmidt? You, I'm saying you can't discredit one without the other. You can't say, well, it's early. Yeah, if we're saying, yeah, man, Paul Goldschmidt's doing great. How much does it matter if Juan Soto's stinking it up? It's too early to really say. Yeah. So if you're saying it's too early to tell if someone sucks,
Starting point is 00:24:52 I think it's also too early to tell if someone's great. So your thoughts on that. There's always a couple of guys that get through May or June. And they're like 3.30. And then they in the season. I would say to whoever brings us up, you in this case, or Sal Lekata earlier, our old pal. I mean, but isn't it better to have a great start than not?
Starting point is 00:25:12 Yeah. I'll take that any day. No, yeah, sure. Juan Soto or any team or anybody could turn it around and have a stellar season. But I would much rather have a great start than, like you said, playing the chase from behind. Yeah. So your thoughts and some, hey, early season props. Let's hear about it.
Starting point is 00:25:33 We'll talk some NBA and, of course, NFL draft tomorrow. So a lot going on. Kavino and Rich right here on Fox Sports Radio. So life is chaotic sometimes. Starting point is 00:26:52 What's the news, huge news? We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts.
Starting point is 00:27:02 Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts. We're starting a trend. But this one's extra special. So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about, what we should call it.
Starting point is 00:27:15 We were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers. This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes. I have a very different memory of this. We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast where people could call in and say,
Starting point is 00:27:32 Hey Jonas. And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast. or wherever you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy,
Starting point is 00:27:51 not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform?
Starting point is 00:28:08 We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Swindler. Michael and friends on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind. Starting point is 00:29:10 The French Open is one of the toughest tests in tennis. and I know firsthand because I competed there myself. I'm Renee Stubbs, and on the Renee Stubbs tennis podcast, I'm breaking down everything happening at Roland Garris, every match, every upset, and what it really takes to win on Clay. Jenchian went. I mean, she went down in three to Rabakina, but I'm delighted. She's an outsider to win the French for me.
Starting point is 00:29:36 And she likes Clay. Listen, Lerabakina is arguably the best player in the world right now, and I actually can win on any surface. Because if she's serving, well, good luck. Consider this your court side seat to the French Open. Listen to the Renee Stubbs tennis podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports.
Starting point is 00:30:00 Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged. It's the enhanced games. Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented. it all embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year. Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
Starting point is 00:30:23 Listen to Superhuman on the I-Hard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Shout out to all the real ones hanging with us, Covino and Rich. Is Steve Covino, the realest of the reel? And that's Rich Davis. Just a real pain in the ass. Yeah, he's keeping a real. Real annoying. Live from the Fox Sports Radio Studio, Express employment professionals can provide contract workers to flex up for peak seasons without having to raise your core workforce headcount.
Starting point is 00:30:58 Manage your workforce differently. Visit expresspros.com today. That's ExpressPros.com. And stick around because we're going to get into midweek major. Plus, the game that's sweeping the nation every Wednesday now we're doing Big Mike who runs this place. Mike, he walks around just, you know, throwing out wisdom all day. So we're going to do Mike's Wednesday words of wisdom. wait for that. And we do it every Wednesday. We give away a prize. We're giving away a Swiggy if you pay attention to his
Starting point is 00:31:24 words of wisdom. Passing the torture onto you. Just to keep everyone in the loop. If you haven't seen by now, Chargers and Lions, that is going to be your first NFL matchup of the 2025 season, that preseason Hall of Fame game. So Chargers, Lions. And so your boy Mahomes said that he's ready to
Starting point is 00:31:39 unleash the passing attack. I'm ready to unleash the passing. Passing what? Attack. The passing attack. All right. Now, we're wrapping up. I'm bringing a whole new layer of his game this year. Bringing a whole new layer to my game this year. It's great. Patrick Mahomes here.
Starting point is 00:31:56 Before we get into something controversial, and then, of course, Dan Byers' update, before we talk Shannon Sharp. And advice you should have listened to. I do want to wrap up early season props in baseball. Do they matter? I think it's better than sucking. But early season props, I'm really impressed with,
Starting point is 00:32:18 Paul Goldschmidt. Now, the thing is, batting average doesn't really mean a whole lot in today's game. I get it. But it's still impressive to see when Aaron Judge is leading the league, leading baseball with the circus number of 415. He's batting 415, so he's not just a slugger. Our buddy, Sean, who listens on the I-Heart app out here in L.A. said, your description of Herman Munster just Rakin can't get out of his head. Just Herman Munster.
Starting point is 00:32:42 Have you seen Herman Munster play baseball? He would hit the ball and explode. That's a very obscure reference. But you love to use it. Because that's what Aaron Judge reminds me of. Now I'm going to go find a YouTube clip. It's going to be all black and white. You're going to be like, he's right.
Starting point is 00:32:54 That's Aaron Judge on the Yankees. So Judge is bat in 415. Goldschmidt is batting 3.83. Brendan Donovan of the Cardinals, 356 and Will Smith, not the failed rapper or Will Smith. Yeah. Not the rapper whose album flopped. The former actor who got, who got, I don't know, too big for his britches.
Starting point is 00:33:13 Will Smith of the Dodgers batting 350. But you don't want to keep going one more person? No. Pete Alonzo, about in 340. Well, I wasn't going to leave that out. Okay. I was going to give him his props when he came to slugging because that's really what matters, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:27 Aaron Judge, 734, your boy, polar bear, Pete, who you didn't want. Not you. Mets fans. I know. Or the Mets. 681 slugging. And then, of course, Jonathan Miranda of Tampa Bay. Kyle Tucker, Cub, 650.
Starting point is 00:33:43 Yeah, Kyle Tucker, we talked about a preseason energy in the spring. that Kyle Tucker was a top five or six MVP candidate. And people said, really, they expect big things. And Kyle Tucker in Chicago is slaying it so far. And as far as home runs, which still matter, we already talked about Tyler Soderstrom, who we saw live. This kid has a stroke. He's got nine, but Cal Raleigh, Cal Raleigh is of Seattle.
Starting point is 00:34:09 It also has nine home runs. Soderstrom of Turlock, California. Yeah. That's right. You already mentioned Tommy Edmund. has eight home runs. Fernando Tatis has eight home runs and Trout, who's having a season. It's good to see him healthy.
Starting point is 00:34:22 Eight home runs. So again, early season props just to wrap it up. Those are your league leaders. And there's some parts of baseball that are just not surprising. Like guys that are just continue to bring it. Like Danny J's Yamamoto. He lost today. He got the
Starting point is 00:34:38 no decision, but Zach Wheeler of the Phillies got 50 strikeouts already and it's April. Insane. You know, some of these guys just, you know, back to Dominator. your boy Rodon having some decent starts. And I'm going to quote Dion Sanders. I got it from him. Baseball's popping, man.
Starting point is 00:34:56 Baseball is popping again. Don't sleep on it. I know not everybody loves baseball the way we do. But it's an exciting time. It's the baseball renaissance of 2025. Lots of superstars. And they're putting up circus numbers. Now, it's good to be Aaron Judge,
Starting point is 00:35:12 but it's not so good to be Shannon Sharp today. I say that. Respect. My first thought was, listen, there's so many, I'm not, this is all alleged, so who knows what's true or not? I'll just say this. So many men in sports, entertainment, music, politics have a weakness. And that weakness is allowing what's in their pantalones to guide the way. How many times as a politician?
Starting point is 00:35:45 You know, had stories come out about, oh, he was cheating on his wife and doing all this, and he was having affairs, and he likes to be... Are you talking about Carlos Danger? Do you remember everyone from Elliott Spitzer to remember the guy in New York, Anthony Weiner, all these people. That's why I just referenced, yeah. So, I mean, and then in sports and politics, President Clinton in the White House, you know, blue dresses and cigars. I did not have sexual relations with that woman. So... Yeah, he denied it.
Starting point is 00:36:12 What are you talking about? Yeah. And then he accepted it. Oh, that's right. But my point is whether or not whatever's true or not, scandal. It's not for us to decide. It's for courts and other people to decide. But my thought is,
Starting point is 00:36:24 Shannon Sharp, you know. Well, he's adamantly denying the allegations. And whether it's true or not, again, that's not for us to decide. That's for someone with a, you know, that's not my pay grade, as I say. How many times do guys, you know, enter a territory where it's like, this can't end well? And when you're a retired athlete, how old is that and drop in his 50s? 58 or something like that, yeah. Like to be messing around with some young woman that maybe you don't know that well.
Starting point is 00:36:56 And even if you like it, kinky and rough in the bedroom, because a lot of people do, that stuff you partake with a wife or a girlfriend or someone you know and trust. By the way, you've got to learn from other people's mistakes. Again, this is all alleged, but we saw what happened to Trevor Bauer. So it's like, hey, man, you got to be more. careful, especially when you have a lot to lose, and how about just being a good guy and a good person and just be better than that?
Starting point is 00:37:20 Here's the thing. No, that's irrelevant. To be better than that. Really? I'd say you shouldn't take those chances. What I'm saying is people have kinks, but you reserve... So what? You have to lean into all of them? I mean... I don't think you do. I don't think you unleash those kinks with someone you love and trust,
Starting point is 00:37:38 whether it's a girlfriend or a wife. I don't think if you're like, yeah, I like it rough in the bedroom. That's not something you do with the one night stand when you have hundreds of millions of dollars and you're a celebrity, let alone a regular guy. You got to really use your head, not the one in your pantalones, and I think that's the problem. And if there's any advice I would give my son one day or younger men, just be careful of who
Starting point is 00:38:00 you are with. And then if he is guilty of these things allegedly, then shame on him and we'll see what happens. But I just think there's so many people that are in a position of, I got so much to lose, yet they take chances that are so ill-advised. Now, that leads us to, I agree, again, some great advice that Shannon Sharp was once given on his own show. And this was last year, if only he had paid attention and listened to Monique.
Starting point is 00:38:32 He might not be in this situation. It's gone viral. Take a listen. Now I'm looking right. Let me tell you I was Shannon need. Let me leave my life. Let me tell you what my baby need. He need him an old fat down.
Starting point is 00:38:43 We can bake good cakes, make some smothered turkey wings, who are going to rub his feet at the night time, okay, and going to have a sip of his cognac to make him feel better by the self when he come home at night. That's what Shannon need. You don't need no 26-year-old girl. You don't need no 36-year-old girl. This is your auntie talking to you.
Starting point is 00:39:00 Take your old ass and get you an old shit out there that can love your old. You're trying to hang out with these young people. You can't do it, Shannon. You just can't do it. When they want you to go for a fourth round, you're looking at her like, Listen, I need you.
Starting point is 00:39:13 You want some money to go to Starbucks? Because I can't go no further. But if you get your older girl, when you get to that forefront, she's going to say, hold on. Hold on. Let me go get you some eggs and cheese and some toast with apple butter because that's going to get your energy back up. I'm talking right to you.
Starting point is 00:39:28 Wow. Monique. Crazy. Listen to now. So I want you to start thinking about this. Advice you should have listened to. Let's get to it at 87799 on Fox. But first, an update from DB, Dan Bayer.
Starting point is 00:39:41 Hey, guys, you were talking about the busy day in baseball with both of your teams playing. Yankees stopped the Guardians 5-1, and the Mets got that 4-3 win over the Phillies in 10. New York's 7th straight win for Philadelphia. They've dropped four in a row. Tigers blink the Padre, 6-0-Reads down the Marlins 5-2, while the first game to go final was in Atlanta. 1-1, a fly ball high in the air to deep left field. This thing is clear for takeoff. It's a three-run homer.
Starting point is 00:40:09 Eli White puts the Braves on top of the 8th. 4-1 Atlanta. You would top the Cardinals by that count on the Braves Radio Network. Three NBA playoff games tonight. All game two's Magic and Celtics. Jason Tatum remains doubtful with a wrist injury. However, Celtics head coach Joe Missoula did say that Tatum did get some on-court work in earlier today. Again, his official status has not yet been determined.
Starting point is 00:40:32 Heat at the Cavaliers 730 Eastern Warriors and Rockets 9. 9.30 Eastern time. NBA insider Mark Stein reports that former Warriors GM Bob Myers could be a candidate to join the Sun's front office. Rutgers freshman star Ace Bailey is entering the 2025 NBA draft. In the NFL, the Saints picked up the fifth year option on the contract of wide receiver Chris Olivae, but declined the option on Trevor Penning's contract. As for quarterback Derek Carr, this was Saints GM Mickey Loomis. My question is about Derek Carr.
Starting point is 00:40:59 He does have an issue with his shoulder. We're hoping to get some resolution and clarity on that in the near future. when we do, I'll report back to you. Otherwise, I don't have anything more. For over 40 years, Tirec has been helping customers find the right tires for how, what, and where they drive. Thursday, July 31st, is when the NFL preseason kicks off. The Hall of Fame game will feature the Lions and Chargers in Canton, Ohio. Guys, back
Starting point is 00:41:33 to you. Thanks, Stevie. And you mentioned and played the highlight from that Braves win over the Cardinals. Hey, again, we talked about how it's early. You want to give props to certain people, but at the same time, we can't overreact because it is so early, just like that. I mean, they're still under 500, but what did the Braves start? 0 and 7? 10 and 14 and playing really good baseball.
Starting point is 00:41:53 So you know that Braves team's not going to be done. That Braves team's going to be over 500 by my guess. Second week of May, over 500. All right, so advice you should have listened to a la Shannon Sharp, and your thoughts on that at 87799 on Fox. We'll do it next right here on Fox Sports Radio. Hi, Kavino and Rich. Starting point is 00:46:57 Wood is great. That's W-O-U-L-D, by the way. No, no, no, W-O-U-L-D. You said Wood. But did you see that picture of Walton Goggins on the cover of magazine? And just because you would doesn't mean you should. And we're talking about Shannon Sharp right now. It's Kavino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio.
Starting point is 00:47:18 Before we get to the phone calls, it's time for our tire rack play of the day. LeBron looking 20, not 40 years old, as he stole the ball from behind Anthony Edwards and quickly powered his way to the hoop to squash the wolf's fourth quarter comeback attempt last night. They'll feed and they'll throw it away. Wolves happen. Gotta love that play. Love Harlins. That's courtesy of TNT, and that is the Tyrax play of the day.

Again, the tire rack.com play of the day the way tire buying should be. Now, back to the advice. What is great advice you were given? you just ignored. We don't need to play the whole Monique clip again. But Monique, last year, told Shannon Sharp,
Starting point is 00:48:20 you need an older woman that's going to cook for you and be there having a late night cocktail. Not a 26-year-old, nothing, that you're paying to get Starbucks. It just, it's an unfortunate story, right? Because she can't make light of her accusations. But at the same time, like we said, of you are a man or woman of power,
Starting point is 00:48:42 especially a man because it seems like, like men don't know how to keep it in their pants. We've all been guilty of making dumb decisions, but some make way dumber decisions than others. And it's politics, sports, entertainment. You see it happen all the time. What is Shannon Sharp doing in the first place? I get it.
Starting point is 00:48:59 I saw the girl. She looks hot. But that doesn't mean you need to go after every hot girl that hits on you. Dangerous, man. Nova in Vegas. What's up, man? Good afternoon. Love to show.
Starting point is 00:49:11 Thank you. I'm listening. That's probably about like my second or third time I'm ever calling me. Appreciate it. So I got a couple. I got three of them. The first one is always save some money for any day situations because you never know what could happen. And I never do.
Starting point is 00:49:26 That's the first one. Right. Second one is be careful who you have kids with because you never know how they're going to turn out after you have those kids. Did not listen. I have two beautiful daughters, but, you know, outside of that, don't know the person that I married at that time. And then the last one is to the career when you're young, otherwise you'll be chasing jobs forever. And I should have listened to that.
Starting point is 00:49:52 That was sound advice that my dad gave me. And never once did I ever pick a career, and I'm still out here chasing jobs. That's great advice and a great call, man. I just call more often. Thank you. You know what? I feel like there's been good advice I did take.
Starting point is 00:50:09 And then you think, like, thank God I did because it was. but when you think about the, it's usually with relationships. Like someone's like, you know, dude, I don't know if she's right for you. And you're like, I don't know. And then you're right. You end up getting married or having a kid with the wrong woman. And it's, you know, to put your life in a weird spot. Let's say how to Michael also in Vegas.
Starting point is 00:50:25 Hey, Mike. Hey, guys. Love the show, guys. Thank you, man. I appreciate you. Hey, so I only got one thing. I'm 50 years old, but when I was a teenager going to high school, I was studying, you know, about stocks and stock bonds and all that stuff.
Starting point is 00:50:40 and people are coming around saying, hey, you should invest in Walmart. I was like, Walmart, whatever. Well, come to find out all that public bonds and whoever got the public stocks. They're pretty much millionaires now. Thank you, God. Yeah, man, and I invested in the Mexican one, Guamar, and it didn't take off as much, man. In the 80s, didn't someone tell your dad to invest in Apple, but he just bought bananas and said? Yeah, oh, my God, my mom yells at him until this day.
Starting point is 00:51:06 So, yeah, that's great call. He put his money in an apple farm? Yeah, an Apple orchard? So other advice you should have listened to a la... He bought stuck in Moths. Monique telling Shannon Sharp to stay away from these young ladies and find himself an old lady to rub his feet. And she was right because this story is getting sticky.
Starting point is 00:51:23 It's still developing. And I'll say one of mine. I'll save one for now and I'll give you more later. As a young man, I tell my daughter this now, people would tell me to study abroad, but I was too much of a chicken turd to take that advice. And looking back, I really wish I would. Would have. No one really gave me that opportunity. But people said, if you have the opportunity, you should do it.
