Well, you said yesterday you said it's very straight. change. Philadelphia, Houston, meet in baseball. Philadelphia, Houston, meet in football. So it's only reasonable that NFL, Philly won, and baseball, Houston, and that dominating

pitching one. Well, Eagles didn't cover column. Not good for the city of Philadelphia. I know everybody was loaded up on the Eagles. We both liked them. Disappointing result, not covering the spread. Well, they're the better team, obviously. So they're 8-0. They beat the Texans. So we've seen Jalen Hertz before a little bit of it. It's called Josh Allen. year one with Josh Allen and Jalen Hertz, doubters everywhere. Year two, we're seeing something, but they're still doubters. Year three, whoa, we got ourselves a star. Mobile, poised, explosive, and both in year three got really, really accurate.

Now, there are parts to Jalen Hertz story that are very rare. He left Bama because he struggled to throw the football, and then in year three in the NFL, he's a star. But people did see something with him, like people saw something with Josh Allen. Lincoln Riley at Oklahoma saw something. Doug Peterson, who won a Super Bowl over Belichick, saw something. But what makes it great?

And this is why I say this a lot about quarterbacks. There's about seven, eight teams in the league or whatever the number is that have young quarterbacks, a Daniel Jones, a Jack Wilson, a Mack Jones, Jalen Hertz, you know, three years or younger. And I hear a lot of excuses for Zach Wilson. And I hear a lot of excuses for Mack Jones. Well, they don't have this. And they don't have that.

And the offensive line's not good. Whenever a team has a young quarterback that is struggling or they're not winning games, it's all these obstacles they have to overcome. So let's go to Jalen Hertz second year in Philadelphia, year two last year. They came into the season. Jalen Hertz was the guy at quarterback. They were 4 and 11. They had no momentum as a franchise.

They were coming off a 4 and 11 franchise last year when he got him into the playoffs. Four of their five offensive linemen at one point, at some point got hurt during the season. he had a rookie head coach who butchered his opening press conference. We had no idea. He'd never been a head coach. He didn't really have a number one receiver. It was a rookie Devante Smith, but he didn't really know that until the season started. And he got him to the playoffs.

I don't want to hear about obstacles. Because Jalen Hertz has been doubted his whole life, six feet tall, not the most optically, aesthetically pleasing thrower a couple years ago, had to transfer in college. I mean, went in the second round. Every team passed on him. Every team, we don't think it's good enough. Nick Saban, I got to bench you.

Whoa. I want to hear about obstacles. This guy's faced more obstacles than Mack Jones and Zach Wilson. And yet he's got, in Philadelphia is a tough town. Demanding media, tough fans. They love their sports. They're all in. They don't want to hear excuses.

But Jalen Hertz just keeps overcoming. There's a saying out there I always thinks great, work harder. Nobody cares about your excuses. If you've got talent, you put in the work, it always succeeds. It may not be on your timeline, but you will succeed. Make improvements, not excuses. His teammates love him. The city loves him.

And it's very Josh Allen. And I've said this forever. You would think it would be really easy. to figure out who was going to be a star in the NFL at quarterback. It should be easy, right? You go to like Ohio State. You're a five-star high school guy. You go to Ohio State. Then you go to the NFL. But look at how many of the great quarterbacks, Big Ben went to Miami of Ohio. Tom Brady, six-round. Russell Wilson had to transfer. Jalen Hertz had to transfer. There's a common thread. Lamar Jackson highly doubted.

There's a common thread with a lot of these quarterbacks that emerge as stars. They've had to work harder and nobody's cared. Because it's hard to be a quarterback. It's demanding. And maybe the number one, the number one skill to be a great NFL quarterback, you could make an argument is not arm size or speed. It's resilience. Doubted.

eye-rolled, criticized, overlooked. Start looking at the starting quarterbacks in this league. Peyton Manning's rare, number one high school, number one college, number one draft pick, great. That's rare. That's not the way it works. Jalen Hertz is the story of the NFL, and he talked after the win. I know it's special for the city of Philadelphia, you know, and I've been 80-no before and lost the national championship. You know what I'm saying?

So just take it day by day. You know what I'm saying? Take a day by day. We haven't accomplished anything yet, you know, and it's a day-by-day thing of us controlling things we can, plan to our standard and trying to grow every day. I think that's truly what it's about. The coach, the quarterback, a lot of doubters, a lot of critics,

congrats to both. Philadelphia is 8-0, and they look, they look every part of 8-0. That is a kind of feels like Buffalo, Kansas City, Philadelphia, I love my Niners, but it feels like they've separated a little bit week eight from the rest of the league. All right, the Kyrie Irving drama. Anti-Semitic beliefs, he's going to be suspended at least five games without pay. Be careful who you build around in pro sports.

Maturity becomes a real thing. Quarterbacks, NBA stars. For years, Kyrie Irving has shown us who he is. He blew up Cleveland. He had the perfect teammate. He had LeBron James. LeBron James is like, dude, you can be the finisher.

LeBron's not hard to get along with. Almost everybody that's ever played with LeBron is better. He blew it up. Then he went to Boston. Great franchise. Good young players around him. Brad Stevens. Brad Stevens doesn't have a lot of enemies.

He blew that up. So he couldn't get along with Brad Stevens. or LeBron. All right. I would think if I was a young player and somebody said, you want to play with LeBron and you're a shooter who doesn't like to play defense? I'd be like, yeah, I'll sign up for that. No, I couldn't get along with that.

And then he went to Brooklyn, and he's now blown this up. So he's blown up Brad Stevens, Kevin Durant, and LeBron James. But each time, people apologize for him. Oh, he's so talented. This is the basketball culture in America, folks. You got talent. people make excuses. You're coddled and you're often worshipped.

Folks were shocked by this. In 2017, he said the world was flat. He started going crazy and supporting conspiracy theories. I said at the time, and I'll say it again, if a friend of yours said, yeah, I like Alec Jones material and the world's flat, would you keep him as a friend? You'd tell him to get help. but the basketball world didn't and this is what you're left with.

Anti-Semitic comments and an absolute mess. And I said it a year ago to Brooklyn. Get out of the Kyrie Irving business. Get out of it. Cleveland blew it up. Boston blew it up. People just tolerated it. Brooklyn now.

Destroyed. And surprisingly, and maybe a little. little sadly, Kevin Durant continues to kind of support him. I think Kevin Durant's brand is strong and he's a great player and I think he's a good guy. You know, he can be sensitive with criticism, but a lot of people can't. Kevin Durant needs to distance himself from Kyrie Irving. Kevin Durant's got a good heart. He's a good guy. He's a great player. I think he's a really, really good guy. He'll fire back at us in the media occasionally, but Kevin Durant really loves basketball and he's a good guy. And I think the Brooklyn Nets need to distance themselves.

from Kyrie Irving. Too many of people have enabled Kyrie. There were warning signs for years and years and years. And it's come to this. It is time to move on. What the NBA does, it's not my responsibility. I have no idea. But if you're Kevin Durant, if you're Brooklyn, there's no win here. Stop enabling. Stop coddling. Yes, he's a super talented basketball player. Yes, he's gifted there. There's There's no question about that. But we're very, very lucky. Basketball is a global game, and there is remarkable talent all over the planet. It's coming from Lithuania, Germany, France, all over America, small towns, big cities.

Boy, basketball talent has never been stronger. It's coming from Asia. It's remarkable. And the young players are hardworking and coachable. We're very lucky right now in 2022. to overwhelmingly our pro leagues. Our best players are good dudes. But Kyrie's got issues.

He's got problems and he's been enabled and here's where we are. And I think KD needs to just say enough. And I think Brooklyn needs to say enough. There's only so many times you can go sideways and be completely inappropriate. And this is just another completely inappropriate Kyrie Irving moment. we have too often apologized for it. It should be over. All right, good stuff today.

I do not. America's honesty broker right down the line. You thought I picked Don Baker and then you came to terms and went, yeah, he was right. It's not picking on somebody if I'm right, right? You think I don't like the Green Bay Packers. Let me defend them. A reporter for the Washington Post, Jason Lockenforah, apparently talked to an anonymous general manager who talked about the Packers not making a deal at the trade deadline. And this general manager anonymously said the league has changed. If you're trying to win, you've got to be willing to part with picks and be more aggressive. Boy, it must be a effed up place, a GM told Lock and Fora. Okay, I completely utterly disagree with that. Does that GM in the last 30 years, has he been part of 26 teams that were 500 or better? Green Bay has been 500 or better 26 of 30 years. That is insane in this league where every year half the playoff teams don't make it. So let's be fair about Green Bay.

What are the two big misses that we could really criticize them for? Let's be, if you're a Packer fan, let's be honest. Because you're spoiled to be honest. We talked about this yesterday. Number one is moving up, trading up to draft Jordan Love when Aaron Rogers was still like mid-30s. That was a mistake. I guess maybe at the time we all thought he's declining.

But now it looks like it was a big mistake. You know, it's easy for me in hindsight. But, you know, I remember saying at the time, there were a lot of GMs that didn't think he was a first or second round player. So they moved up and they had other needs, as we well know, like wide receiver. They moved up to take Jordan Love. Okay, that's a mistake. And the second one, I think that is very fair. This one's very fair.

A failure to invest in the wide receiver position. So if you follow the NFL like all of you do, right, you know over the last five or six years, you've got to have at least two to three to four good receivers. You can't just have one guy. And here they had Devante Adams, and they would not invest in it right now. They wouldn't invest in Chase Claypool. So Chicago went and beat them out for Chase Claypool. Come on. Aaron's now got a couple years left.

You've got to give up enough to get Chase Claypool. That's a very fair criticism. Now, those could be arrogance. They could be misses. They could be oversights. Whatever they are. The Jordan Love thing now, easy for me to say, but it appears to be a big, big miss. Like, you can't play at all.

And if he could, Aaron wouldn't be there. they wouldn't be banned him 50 million. And secondly, they have misjudged or failed to be aggressive enough at the wide receiver position. And they're not alone on that. But this idea they're poorly run. Or as this guy says, you know, effed up. Look at New England. I could go five issues deep.

Look at Pittsburgh. That's a well-run organization. They can't get their offensive line right for like five years or the coordinator right. So Green Bay is a well-run organization, albeit too conservative for my taste. But let me defend them here. It's small town America. It is the smallest pro-sport city in America. Small towns in the Midwest probably lean a little right.

Probably lean a little cautious. Probably lean a little, we don't want to spend big money. That's where they live. That's where they're from. L.A., a lot of money. San Francisco Silicon Valley. New York, a lot of money. They take bigger swings.

Miami, you know, that's a big, sexy marquee. name city, right, get big stars. That's not Green Bay. So they're a little conservative, but I think that's of their nature. And the other thing with Green Bay, and the league has changed, I'll give you an example. Before Jimmy Johnson made that huge deal with the Minnesota Vikings, remember, he traded Herschel Walker. It was one, it was unheard of.

I think Jimmy Johnson has said, I've never verified this, but I'm sure he's right. He said, the New York Giants had only made one big trade ever, one trade ever, before Jimmy did that. It was unheard of. Jimmy had a draft chart, which, by the way, many teams around the league muse now. What is this worth? What is that worth? So football, like, people didn't make these big changes. And then Jimmy Johnson comes around. And what you're seeing is these young GMs, it's more aggressive. Like, it looks like the NBA now. There's a lot of trades. You saw Tuesday, right? You watched shows, ours, perhaps, all the trades Tuesday. That didn't happen five, six, seven, eight years ago. So the league has changed. And this is where I think,

and I'll defend Green Bay. They don't have an owner. And that wasn't a real negative in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000. But it does feel like as the league has gotten more aggressive, trading players, especially on the deadline, the Rams can go upstairs to stand cronkey, the billionaire. Write that check. The Hunt family, write that check. Jeffrey Lurie, I'll write that check.

Miami. Stephen Ross, real estate guy. He's in the acquisition business. I'll write that check. I'll make that deal. Green Bay has a board. It feels like a hole that didn't punish them. I mean, again, it's, if you didn't know computers in the 80s and 90s, you could get by,

like if you don't know tech now, if you run a company and you aren't into tech, you are a mile behind. You can't compete. And I think not having an owner hurts the Packers. I think if they have an owner, they get Chase Claypool. I just think he says, I got Aaron Rogers. I golf with Aaron Rogers. In the summer, I bring him on my yacht.

Aaron calls him and says like Brady would do with Robert Kraft. Brady calls Robert Kraft. Get Garoppolo out of here. Garapolo is out of there. I think if they had an owner, he'd hang out with Aaron. They'd golf. Aaron's part owner of the Milwaukee Bucks. They'd probably go to Bucks games together.

Aaron would probably call him once or twice a year and say, hey, owner, can you do me a solid? And he would. This happens all the time. Peyton Manning and Jim Ursay. This happens all the time. The Breeze, Drew Breeze and the Benson family. And so let me defend Green Bay. Small town America, little conservative. That's their nature. No owner. I think it's an obstacle. I didn't think that years ago. But you look at these teams making these big moves. It's a lot of aggressive owners. But don't tell me this is a messed up franchise. I do not believe that at all. Jordan Love, okay, hindsight miss. Receiver position, slow on that. But 26 to 30 years, 500 or better. That's a gold standard with a couple of

Super Bowls. That's not a messed up place. That is a gold standard. May not be New England in terms of titles, take the Patriots out. Not a lot of Green Bayes. In pro sports in America. You know, you take out your warriors, you take out your Lakers last 30 years, you take out your spurs, you take out your Patriots. Packers are a very well-run for. franchise. Jay Mack with the news. No, no, no, no. Turn on the news. This is the herd line news. All right, let's get started with the gentleman named Tom Brady.

It's weird. Since the divorce happened, we haven't really talked about him much. But guess what? He is going to maybe set a record this Sunday against the Rams. He's 164 yards away from becoming the first player in NFL history with 100,000 passing yards combined in the regular season and postseason. Here's what Tom Brady had to say about that big achievement. I think for me it's a credit to all the guys that I played with and who have blocked for me, who have caught passes. And I think all those things are a great celebration to all those guys.

I think of I can't do this league without guys doing what they are amazing at too. I feel like these are all, they're great achievements. But for as much as people want to say, oh, this is what Tom Brady did. In my mind, this is what myself and all these other people, I've contributed to my life have done as well too. I don't know. What do you think, Bucks Rams this weekend? Are they going to make an appearance here in 30 minutes in your picks?

No, I've stayed away from Tampa mostly this year. They haven't covered in six straight games, Colin. Well, it's also you have a star quarterback going through a personal crisis, and so here are the most passing yards. Yeah. Okay, so it's Brady, Breeze, Peyton. Not a shock. I'm not shocked by any of these.

No. Listen, Brady might have to carry them this weekend. You know, no Shaq Barrett, right? The defensive end, who's going to get pressure on Stafford's out for the season. And I don't know if you've looked, but McVeigh has dominated Todd Bowles. Defense is head-to-head. I saw that. Three straight wins.

I mean, the defense can't stop him. This is a tough spot for the bucks, Colin. It does feel like Tampa Bay could lose and still win the division. Remember the first year that won the Super Bowl, they were seven and five, and they got on fire. Yeah. But it does feel like there's this inflection point. There's a moment here for the Rams. The Niners are getting healthier.

Seattle's maybe the shock of the league. Arizona could have and maybe should have won the Minnesota game. It kind of feels like this is the weak. You've got to go be able to win a road game. I kind of feel like there's a little. I feel like if the Rams don't win, how much can I buy them? You and I talked about this during the break. Vegas still has their doubts on.

Seattle, but if you look at Seattle, they're getting these great performances by rookies. Well, rookies are young players. What do young players do? They grow fast, right? So Seattle's scary because these young players, they don't even know how to play yet. Like, they're figuring out, and all of a sudden in the last three weeks, this Seattle defense with all these kids is playing like real pass rush. So Seattle's a team where are we just watching the beginning?

Are they going to be significant? Everybody is counting them out because of Gino. But if you look at the defense, which is young on the edge and young at corner, fairly young at linebacker, you're like, this thing, if they this weekend beat Arizona Stanley. Remember the last time they played? You and I talked about this. I was on Arizona. Yes, I remember it a little bit.

And I said at the time, Seattle appears to be a better team. I think Seattle is significantly better this morning than they were in that game. So I think Seattle, I had my doubts, but man. I think we'll be talking about this game a little bit later. To quickly just go back to the bucks for a moment, Colin, are you surprised that their opponent, the Rams, did nothing at the trade deadline? Is that maybe a signal that McVeigh and company know, hey, we won the Super Bowl last year, we got the injuries.

This probably isn't our year. Let's just stand pat, try to get Cam Acres back into the team, and we're not going to do anything because we're not going anywhere. Well, there was a story they wanted to get edge rusher Brian Burns, but it didn't get, I think, and there's also documentation now. They wanted Christian McCaffrey. So it was down to the Rams and the Niners, the Niners gave up more. So no, I don't think they wanted to stand pat at all.

I just think they couldn't. The price tag for Christian McCaffrey was probably a draft pick more than they wanted to surrender. The biggest practice report today is going to be how did Cooper Cup do at practice? Because if he's not a go with that ankle, it's a wrap. All right. Next up, speaking of receivers, Odell Beckham Jr., still a free agent, Colin. Recovering from the torn ACL, the bills have been linked to him all season. Remember, Von Miller's kind of making a move on social media.

However, Bill's GM, Brandon Bean, is adding a little. little more speculation saying OBJ is a heck of a talent. He might have been the MVP of that Super Bowl. Does he not tear the ACL? He's a heck of a player and you know me. We think we can help this team. We'd be crazy to not at least look into it. If we did go after Odell, you have to remember there's financials, there's roles, there's all sorts of things that would have to line up. We've talked a little to his agent. We'll see how it goes. So the bills brought in Von Miller. Naim Hines as well. And the chiefs brought in Tony. So it's a little chess match with the bills and the chiefs as they add pieces because they appear to be very, very close.

So I could, you know, it would not shock me. Again, there's a reason they brought in, you know, Tony from the New York Giants. It's just another piece. So, yeah, I mean. If you're OBJ, let's say you're advising him, he's in your circle and he said, what do you think, Bill? Do I go to the bills? I would go to the best quarterback available.

I'll go to Buffalo. Or do you want to go where maybe you're going to get the most targets? perhaps Dallas, where you would probably be the number two receiver behind CD Lamb. If you go to Buffalo, still Diggs is going to eat first. I think Gabriel Davis is better than O'Dell coming off the injury. That's actually a really good point. And O'Dell is kind of a me guy, obviously, you know? Well, no, I think you make a good point.

You'd get more looks in Dallas. And Dallas, high-profile games. I mean, I know Buffalo's playing in them, but Dallas. No, that's a good point. That's a good point. O'Dell is a Nike guy. You know, he wants to move merch and he's got that deal. You go to Dallas.

I don't think there's a bigger spotlight in the league, right? I think you're right. I'm just trying to make it happen. So when they play the Vikings and the playoffs, head to head, you'll have Vikings, I'll have Cowboys. Because Dallas does need you. Also, O'Dell can peel off a deep route. Buffalo could be playing home games in lousy weather.

Yeah. And so you kind of go to Josh Allen doing the RPO or running outside. Yeah. No, I think you're right. I think Dallas probably is a great fit. I think if I was O'Dell Beckham and my agent, that's probably what I would target. You're right. All right, and wrapping up, we've got an NBA story here.

Not good news, Sixers fans. James Harden injured his foot in Wednesday's loss to the Wizards. And yesterday, tests revealed he has a right foot tendon strain. He's going to be on the shelf for about a month. This comes as the Sixers have started out four and five. Not great. Now, he's probably going to miss somewhere 15 to 20 games. I'll say this.

Hardin historically, when he sits out a while in activity, he's one of these yo-yo-weight guys. He can easily put on 15 to 20 pounds. Not great. Colin, I don't know how this is good for James Hardin, but I think this could be a good thing for the Sixers. Let me make the case, Tobias Harris, the guy that pay $35 million, he's attempting the fewest shots since like his rookie year. Because Tyrese, Maxie's getting shots and beat.

I think this could be good for like a guy like Tobias Harris, guys who aren't getting shots because Hardin is a high-value. I haven't seen. How's Maxie played this year? He's good. I mean, 22 years old, they're expecting a lot. But he's like their second leading score. No, he's dynamic.

And this will open things up for him as well. Very curious how this works out. Sixers, because the nets are taking up all the oxygen, nobody's really talking about the Sixers slow start, the Warriors slow start, the Lakers. Sixers are getting us skating by here a little bit. A lot of people had them in the finals. By the way, Steph's played great.

The Warriors can't defend anybody. And it's weird. The minutes, they have some reserves. Where's our guy, Coomingo? What the hell's going on? Did not play coach's decision. I know. I was online.

I didn't watch it. I was online this morning. And I'm like, what's going on with that situation? I thought this was the breakout year. James Wiseman? Dude, it's year three. What's going on? I mean, La Mello Ball's an All-Star.

James Wiseman can't get on the court. Ten minutes a game. Warriors got some issues. Weird. It's early. It's early. J-Mac with the news. Well, that's the news.

So I was watching the Eagles last night, and my takeaway is, It does feel like the Eagles, the Bills, and the Chiefs kind of feel like they've separated from the league. They're just a little more dynamic and they're a little bit deeper. And there's a gap. I feel like there's a gap between like the Eagles, the Bills, and the Chiefs. Now, injuries happen.

Who knows what happens? Somebody gets healthier. Cincinnati came from nowhere last year. Tampa a couple years ago with Tom was seven and five. Post Thanksgiving, teams can pop. but it does feel like there's a gap. It's not that Dallas isn't dynamic, but it's mostly on defense. It's not like San Francisco's not dynamic, but many of you question the quarterback.

It's not like Minnesota is not dynamic as long as Kirk Cousins isn't in prime time. But I thought last night Philadelphia looks different. And they look like Buffalo and they look like Kansas City. They're just bigger, a little faster, more dynamic. And there's only three teams in the NFL this morning, Philly, Buffalo, and Kansas City. I would be shocked if they lost their first playoff game. I'd be like, whoa, I wouldn't be shocked if Dallas did or Gropolo had a stinker. Minnesota, Kirk Cousin, Shrinks, or Burrow has an interception game.

But if Philly lost, Buffalo lost, Kansas City lost first game, you'd be like, that would be a surprise. That would be an upset. So in the first time in a decade, the NFL's got three teams, I think, are separate. And college football has like seven or eight teams. Alabama this morning is ranked sixth. I wouldn't be surprised if Alabama won the national championship. Dallas, on my herd hierarchy, it was six. I would be surprised if Dallas.

I don't think Mike McCarthy in big games, DAC in big games. I don't have any proof last three or four years. They're going to step up in a conference championship game. So college football this year, I feel we have the parody that I really like, that you go six or seven teams deep and you don't know who's going to win. In the NFL this year, I feel like we have three. In fact, I do a Super Bowl bubble.

I'll bring it on about every two weeks. And I kind of feel like there's three teams right in the heart of it. And then I think there's five other teams. And they're kind of in it, but not really. Minnesota, San Francisco, Dallas. Still a doubter on Dallas a little bit. Cincinnati and Baltimore. I love Baltimore.

But that feels like college football, where you've had over the last several years, Ohio State, Georgia, Alabama. And then like, you know, Oregon or, you know, you'll have a Michigan. You don't really think they can win a national championship. But Cincinnati, you know, the bear cats get in. You don't really, the NFL is starting to feel like that. Now, it's weak. It's halfway through the season.

But it does feel a little college football where these three teams just look different. Georgia looks different usually when they play. They look different. Are the Miami Dolphins missing from the bubble? They're an inch away. They're the one for me that I don't quite buy them yet. A lot of other people do. And I could be wrong.

They're not quite there for me. Bradley Chub decision put... That helps. I want to see him play for the dolphins. Somebody put a stat online last night that the Philadelphia Eagles have beaten two teams with a winning record all season.

One was the Vikings at home. Kirk Cousins' primetime automatic loss for him. The other was Cooper Rush, backup quarterback. What team is this? Philadelphia Eagles. Oh, come on.

You're watching them and you don't... No, no, no, no. I'm just saying some gibrony on Twitter and I'm like, okay, Eagles, what's our best win right now, Okay. I don't think you're wrong. Okay. It's fair.

But when you watch them, they have blown out multiple teams. So the games are not competitive. The point is fair. It is fair. We see this all the time in sports where you have an easier schedule and then you meet. But these are NFL teams. Like last night, it was tied 17 all at one point. You knew who was better.

It's not that it's unfair, but they look different to me. When you win, I got that, when you win by three touchdowns in the NFL, these are pro athletes. I mean, they have blown out. They've gotten huge leads on teams fast. And the other thing is they just push people around. I mean, up front, they have pushed people around. I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack. So I'm starting to see that there's a through line. We also have AIDS on the table right now.

Thank you for finishing that sentence. I don't think there's a more important year for black people. Really? Yeah. For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history. He now lives in Denver, a two-time pro bowler.

And he was often a guy that you could bring into a franchise. very, very quickly in the middle of a season if you had to, and he would learn the playbook quickly, get right in, put him in your offense. And we're seeing that now with the trading deadline where we're asking Chase Claypool to, come on, come to Chicago, figure things out. Christian McCaffrey, figure out the playbook.

Not everybody can do that. Emmanuel Sanders could. He now works for the NFL network. So let's take Chase Claypool. So he has a very young quarterback, obviously, in Justin Fields. He's a kid. It's not a veteran quarterback. And Chase is fairly young.

So now he's got to learn a new offense, new terminology with a young growing quarterback. How long before I can expect, as a fan, Chase Claypool to get 10 targets? I mean, it depends on how fast he pick up the playbook. But, you know, when I look at that Chicago Bears offense, and I see Justin Fields, how fast this guy is. If I'm an offensive coordinator, I look at my chops and how dynamic. I can make this playbook. But obviously, you know, when you go back and watch the games, they're missing that big play receiver.

You know, I look at Philadelphia and I look at, you know, the receivers that they have and, you know, and A.J. Brown, the way that A.J. Brown's catching the ball. Big play receiver, right, that you can just, you can have trust in and throw the ball up and he's making a play. He's had three touchdowns last week. That's what Chicago is missing. So hopefully Claypool could be that.

You know, I don't know if he could be that yet, But all I know is in watching Chicago Bears games, Justin Fields needs a receiver, if not another one as well. Yeah. They have the quarterback. They just got to keep adding pieces around. But it's going to be up to chase and how fast he wants to, how fast he wants to, you know, learn a playbook and get acclimated with everything.

How surprised are you with Jalen Hertz's second round pick, left Bama, got beat out by Tua? I watch him. And it reminds me a little of Josh. Allen, doubters in year one, we kind of like him in year two, star in year three. I never thought he'd be a 70% completion rate guy, and he's getting at a 67, 68%. He's very accurate. I've got to be honest.

I did not forecast this. I did not see this stardom. Did you? I don't think, well, when I was in New Orleans, he beat us as a rookie. Yeah. I thought I was a little fool gazing. I'm not even going to lie. But then you want to know what?

Every quarterback and every player needs a GM and needs a head coach and needs the offensive coordinator. And what the Philadelphia Eagles are doing and what they're building out there, that's all the part of the GM and the head coach and everybody putting it all together. They're putting pieces together after pieces together to try to win a Super Bowl. And I commend them on them. I commend them on that. They're doing a tremendous job. And you look at the offense that Jaylor Hertz is in.

Like that offense is suitable to him. Like he's able to use his leg. He's able to use his ability to throw on the run. They got a big play receiver in A.J. Brown, they got Speed and Smith. They got a defense now. He has so many pieces around him now. It's like he's Alabama again, right? He got a great offensive line, a great defensive line.

He has pieces around him. But one thing that I do love about Jaila Hertz is when I watch him play in his composure and the way that he plays and the grace that he plays with, Like I have an appreciation for that as well. I don't want to take anything away from him because I enjoy watching the way that he plays the game. The leadership that he's showing in year three and the way that he's just been playing. But, man, kudos to the Philadelphia Eagles organization in general, man. The GM is doing a great job.

The head coach is doing a great job. And everybody out there, they're putting the pieces together to try to win a Super Bowl. Listen, two is a little smaller than you like. He doesn't drive the ball down the field. He's been banged up a little bit. I've been a little bit of a doubter. But I did pick him to be a wildcard team. And I love their coach.

Like the Eagles, they went and got a left tackle. They went and got Tyreek Hill. They may have to go up north to Buffalo when it's cold and windy or Kansas City. But do you buy the dolphins as a serious Super Bowl contender? Yes, I do. I do. just because I see the way that they're doing. Jalen Wadow and Tyreek Hill, they're on pace right now.

Me and Demarius was one of the only three receivers to go over 3,000 yards, and now on pace to do that. They're doing something special out there. And again, a quarterback is only as good as the pieces that you put around. You know, when I saw the Tyreek Hill went out there, I remember being on the sideline multiple times, multiple times with the Broncos. Even when I was with the Niners in the Super Bowl and Tyreek Hill making big football, play after big play. He's a Hall of Fame caliber player. He's a Hall of Fame caliber speed.

You put him with Jaylon Waddle. Now you got tour who went to Alabama and had a great career at Alabama. Like I said, quarterbacks are only as good as the weapons that you have around. And those guys are dangerous. Like I remember sitting in soccer rooms and hearing we're playing against Tyrook Hill and hearing defensive backs talking about, hey, hey, safety, make sure you have my help on this play right here because I'm on Tyreek Hill. So the entire. defenses iron on him, which allows everybody else to get off. And then you have Jalen Waddle. You have Moster.

I play with Moster with the 49ers. And you want to talk about a guy that's so fast that if he gets around a corner, it's a home run. Yeah. And so they have all the pieces. They have great D.Bs. Anything that happened, right? Obviously right now, Buffalo is still my favorite, but the Dolphins beat Buffalo, you know, when Buffalo went to Miami. So, I mean, in the AFC, there's going to be real interesting.

He wants the playoffs come around and see who really leads to AFC and the Super Bowl. Emmanuel Sanders for our radio audience. Always strong opinions. We've had him on the show multiple times, and now he's at the NFL network. Good for them. By the way, one more question. You played for the Niners. I defend Jimmy Garoppolo constantly.

My audience doesn't like him. You played with him. And I've always said, he's accurate. He gets rid of it. He's a guy's guy. He's good in the room. And it ain't always pretty. get get are you uh i mean you could easily say good or bad things what's your interpretation

jimmy jimmy jim was the last game versus the rams when he was frambling out and george jritch jill was running in the back of the end zone and the dv thought he had a chance and jimmy jes just dropped it in the bucket and george kittle got up and the next you see chris macapec flare out and next thing you know jimmy j he doesn't even look like he opened and jimmy jes just drops it in the bucket. We talked about a quarterback last year that went to the N.O.C. championship. Went to the N.C. championship. Went to the Green Bay and beat B. Ann Rogers at Lambo. I don't really get why everybody so down on the train is that Jimmy G. is supposed to be winning the Super Bowl of MVP caliber every year or just some magical quarterback. I mean, he's winning

game. He's winning game. So, you know, obviously everybody looks back at that Super Bowl and they say, oh, man, you know, I walk through the air. airport or I go anywhere and they say, man, you got overthrown in the Super Bowl, you got overthrothed. I'm like, that one play didn't determine the Super Bowl. If you go back and look and you ask Kiddle, you ask Debo, you ask Jimmy, you ask Nick, you ask the secondary, you ask anybody on that team, could they have made a difference in that Super Bowl and did something different to change the outcome of that game?

I'm sure they would say, yeah, but everybody just kind of wants to point the finger at Jimmy G. I don't think it's fair. I don't think it's fair at all. At the end of the day, we lost, and you can't point the finger at one person. Well, I don't think it's pointing up, but it can't be the worst offense in the league. I don't believe that. So they're buying it this week, and then they got a couple games.

You go out three weeks for Denver. I think they beat Jacksonville. Ross had some plays late. I think they're going to go on a very ugly winning streak. They'll start winning these games. I will say this. Bradley Chubb feels like a really big piece for Miami. if you can stay healthy

that $100 million contract. They have at Tennessee. They're going to win that game. That'll be maybe a pick-em. Total winable game. Versus Vegas. They'll win. Carolina.

Win. At Baltimore. Lose. So they can get back in the playoff hunt, but they just need three wins in a row. Yeah, I mean, they got a little bit of a scheduling break. I mean, until Baltimore, they should be able to win all those games.
