Rob Lowe stops by today. My friend Rob Lowe stops by today, J. Mack, and also Jordan Palmer. but it's interesting tonight. So you and I love betting the NFL.

And in college, you see touchdown 14-point. I mean, Alabama was a 16-point favorite over Wisconsin in Wisconsin. It's lopsided. There's like eight programs, maybe 10, just better players, you know, your Ohio states and your Texas, Georgia. But in the NFL, the Bears were only a six-point. underdog to the Texans and we think the Texans are the best team in their division and could challenge for the AFC championship.

We think the Bears may be a fourth place team. So a six point spread in the NFL is a big deal. Tonight, the Jets were a six point favored against New England. New England doesn't beat themselves, one of only three teams in the NFL with no turnovers. And the Jets offense is 20th in the NFL in yards per play. they're not moving the ball. So it's amazing. To me, it's like when you see lines that are six,

I mean, Atlanta, everybody thought Atlanta was going to go to Philadelphia and get housed in Philadelphia. And it was like, what, five point spread, five and a half point spread. The NFL odds makers are thinking tonight

is a blowout in the Jets favor. But Tennessee beat themselves as much as the Jets did. Will Levis is in the Bad Judgment Hall of Fame. They had a punt block, two turnovers. You're not going to get any of that from New England tonight. And to me, one of the things I'm trying to figure out in the first two or three weeks of the NFL is what's real and what's hype. And at this point, we have to be honest. Aaron and the Jets are a lot of hype.

Three weeks ago, it was Super Bowl talk. It's nonsense. They're 20th in yards for play, 27th and total offense, and it's Nat Hackett running the show. But I went even deeper on this. because, you know, San Francisco as an opener is tough. Aaron Rogers was viewed as a savior. Now, he's talented, no doubt. But how talented?

In his last 20 starts. And remember, it's overwhelmingly Green Bay starts. And when he was starting his last couple years in Green Bay, Detroit was 29th in the NFL in defense, Minnesota was 30th, and Chicago was last, his last year in Green Bay. So he got multiple starts from the worst defense. in the NFL, Aaron Rogers did. Forget the win-loss record. He had a 91 passer rating. That is closer to the quarterback he will face tonight, Jacoby Brissette, than the elite guys in the league.

I mean, Lamar Jackson gets criticized for pocket passing. He's 102, and he can run. Aaron's 40 doesn't run. He's solely a pocket guy, and he's slightly better than Jacoby Brissette is a pocket guy. And they're a six-point favorite tonight. And one of the things that is, I've always loved about the NFL. It's not a nostalgia league. Yesterday I'm driving around. They turn on a radio show on Sirius XM. And they're talking baseball in the 60s.

And like, nobody, you never turn on a football show, and it's like, let's talk about Hugh McElhaney. Anybody want to take a call on Otto Graham? Football's a now sport. It's not even Hollywood. They don't give out Lifetime Achievement Awards while you're still playing. They do that in Hollywood while you're still acting. So right now, Aaron's immobile, expensive.

He doesn't have a rushing yard this season and 54 dropbacks, and he's coming off an injury, so he's not quite totally in unison with the left side of the offensive line. You know, he's throwing with a little lack of trust right now. So, like, tonight's game is gigantic. If they lose tonight, in Atlanta just went to Philadelphia and won as a similar dog. If they lose tonight, in two weeks they faced high-flying Minnesota, three-weeks. they face Buffalo. I think this game is gigantic.

And there's just this sense that, well, this is a given tonight. Do you watch New England beat Cincinnati? New England took undefeated Seattle overtime. And the Jets are a six-point favorite. It's crazy. I mean, I, it's, I, usually the market's never fooled. This line is so big to me.

It's as if there is something the draft kings of the world see that I can't. But look around last week, the first week of the NFL season, there was only one touchdown or more favorite. It was Cincinnati over New England. Monday night was one of the more lobsided. Sunday night, Bears, Texans, Bears fought to the end. Monday night, Falcons, Eagles, those were like big NFL margins. Jets are under a six-per-examines.

point favorite for a quarterback in his last 20 starts has a 91 passer rating here's aaron on tonight been a long time since uh took the field at uh jet life so you get a lot of emotions for sure body feels good so well as good as a can on the short week um but uh yeah it'd be fun be out there with the crowd night games i love night games so excited about it not you know no one's real crazy about thursday games but everybody loves the thursday uh the weekend after the thursday games. All right, I guess I'll take the Jets tonight. The betting market is telling me it's got a chance to be a blowout.

Every number I'm looking at doesn't tell me that, but I have to take the Jets to win. So the most interesting game of the weekend, and I love when this happens, it's the Ravens and Cowboys, and not just because it's the Cowboys. The Cowboys getting housed at home by the Saints has made this game fascinating. If Dallas was 2 and 0, it wouldn't feel the same way. But Dallas with a coach in the hot seat is now one-in-one coming off a blowout loss again at home like the Packers. But the fascinating part of this is I love when you get two quarterbacks who we argue and debate over, and we do with Lamar and Dack. And they're on the same field.

One's in, one's out. One's in, one's out. That's when you can really compare them. You know, a lot of times you're like, I like this guy, but he plays an easy opponent. I don't like this guy, but he plays a hard job. They're playing each other. both with better than average defenses. And what's interesting is Lamar, though he's elite,

is probably the only really great quarterback in this league that's constantly criticized. And Dak, whose B-to-B-B-plus has been elevated by everybody. He's currently the highest paid football player in the history of the league. Dak Prescott is, is viewed as elite. And so what's interesting is Lamar Jackson against teams like the Cowboys, NFC teams, is 20, and one. 20 and one.

DAC against that conference also has a winning record. But 40% of DAC's wins against the weaker NFC have come against the Giants in Washington where he's 23 and 4. DAC has feasted

on totally dysfunctional teams. Now, they do have similarities. They both have winning records, especially in the regular season. Both have struggled in the playoffs. Both have won their division multiple times. Both are highly compensated.

Both have Super Bowl winning head coaches. Both play for very prominent NFL franchises. But your eyes will tell you, in my opinion, Sunday, who's better? And here's the distinction between the two. Because you can tell me, Dax this, and Lamar's only that, here's

the distinction. Lamar Jackson, in a better conference, certainly better at the top, Holmes, Josh Allen, Burrow, now C.J. Stroud. Lamar Jackson is 19 and 14 against, we would acknowledge, playoff teams. Lamar against playoff teams in his career in the better conference with better quarterbacks is 19 and 14. Dak against playoff teams in his career in a weaker conference is 18 and 27.

That is the difference. There's a lot of similarities with these two. and DAC is more respected and loved by fans than Lamar is. The difference is Lamar beats really good teams in a better conference, and Dak can't beat really good teams in an inferior conference. Lamar is more consistently great than Dak, especially when you play the big boys. Here's John Harbaugh on Sunday's matchup and his offense as a whole.

You want to be known for something. What are you good at? What do they need to stop? What are they saying that they have to defend against you for your offense? At the same time, you don't want them to lie up and know what you're doing every single play. We lead the league in yards, but the points have to come with it, and that's what we're going to chase. We were in that situation last year at one point in time, too, if you remember early in the season. So that's something that we have got to translate the yards and the points. And to me, it comes back to consistency.

They lead the league in yards does Baltimore, and they open with one of the top three defenses in the league, the Kansas City Chiefs in Kansas City. I like Baltimore, but more than anything, I'm fascinated to watch the two quarterbacks, one who's elite, who gets very little love from fans, and one who's very good, who is now the highest paid player in the history of this sport. J-Mack, I have Greg CoSell 45 minutes from now. Wide receivers make a lot of noise. They're always been the basketball players of football.

They break the huddle first. It's sort of, they don't rely on anybody else necessarily, other than quarterback get the ball close. And they make a lot of noise. In the offseason, Jabar Chase, Brandon Ayuk, a lot of noise. I'm going to tell you the most valuable, not only a receiver in the league, he may be the most valuable player in the league

that's not a quarterback. You will not believe what I'm going to tell you next. You will, no, I don't want you to guess. You will not believe it. I was shocked today. the most valuable player in this league that's not a quarterback. You won't believe it.

Wide receiver? You won't believe it. That's next. And for years and years, I called wide receivers icing on the cake. You can eat cake without icing. It can make good, very good.

But you're not, if the cake is bad, the icing can't save it. Right? Like, you know, even with carrot cake. And that's the best icing. But look at these numbers. A.J. Brown's impact on J. Hurts' career, including the playoffs. When A.J. Brown is connected and playing with Jalen Hertz.

He is Patrick Mahomes. He's 28 and 8. He'll get to Super Bowls. When A.J. Brown's not there. He is slightly better than Justin Fields with the same passer rating. It's insane. Basically, Jalen Hertz wins like Mahomes with A.J. Brown. Remember, A.J. Brown is a rookie. Went to Tennessee. They were a number one seed. Thousand yards rookie. He left.

They've never been the same franchise. They've never been the same franchise. Philadelphia scores 28 points when A.J. Brown's on the field. 15 when he's not. Again, that's the Justin Fields Bears. And a lot of these wide receivers make noise. Defon Diggs does. Bills look just fine without him.

Justin Jefferson. Vikings are 5 and 2 when he doesn't play. Sunday, Sam Darnold. Without him, Jordan Addison, or T. J. Hawkinson, game-clinching drive. The Chiefs have won two Super Bowls without Tyreek Hill. Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, leave the Chargers. They're two and no.

They're just fine. A.J. Brown doesn't play in Philadelphia. They're last year's bears. That's insane. And we all like Jalen Hertz. I'm not saying he and Justin Fields are the same. Just the numbers are. The passer ratings are the same.

I mean, think about week one. Brandon and I just got this massive contract. Week one, the Niners rolled supposedly a good defense with the Jets. Ayuk, his most notable moment, he dropped the touchdown pass. He had no

connection to the outcome. No impact on San Francisco scoring. None. Had two catches. So it's just like, I think, you know, we talk overrated, underrated. We've always known T.J. Watt is really important

for the Steelers defense. We all know that. We know McCaffrey's incredibly valuable. And we also know starting quarterbacks are. There's an argument. A.J. Brown is the most valuable. The Titans, it's not just what he's delivered in Philly. The Titans have been a disaster offensively since he left.

Cannot figure it out. They've changed coaches. Got Mike Vrable fired. They've changed everything. Quarterbacks, coaches. It's all connected to A.J. Brown. Remember how Mike Vrable reacted when they let go? Remember that?

they let go of AJ Brown. And Mike Frable's not a guy. He goes to the podium. Big tough guy. Doesn't get real emotional. When they let go of A.J. Brown, I mean, Mike Frable basically came to the podium and just, he's like, it was like losing Brady in New England.

Mike Vrable was like, yeah, this isn't very good. Isn't that crazy? Jalen Hertz's entire career without A.J. Brown connected to it. He's an 84 passer rating. he goes for 148 yards a game he's 1220 and 1 and Jalen Hurts is good he's good J-Mack with the news

no no no no turn on the news this is the herd line news all right speaking of injuries let's start with Jordan Love returning to practice yesterday for the first time since spraining his MCL in the week one loss to the Eagles we still don't know if love will be able to go but love is remaining very hopeful that he's

of illness. Springy. Just taking it day by day. Trying to see how it feels every day and coming here, keep doing the treatment, keep doing the rehab, and, you know, was out there today and just trying to take it every day by day and just keep feeling it out, but it's feeling better. So initially they had said three to five

weeks for love and now here he is practicing. There's scuttlebutt he could go. Otherwise, we get a Malik Willis revenge game against the Titans. Can I tell you a text I got from a general manager in the NFL yesterday? Sure. He said I just was looking over the Colts Anthony Richardson tape. Holy crap was that bad.

He mentioned Stuyken. He's like, no layups. Layups didn't work. Layups were tough. So this, you earlier in the week, you have been, now we've talked about this game about the Colts, but I was thinking about the Packers here as they play the Titans, is this is only a two-point spread.

Was it really the Packers look good against the Colts or the Colts are not good at all? Now the Forrest Buckner's out? The Colts defensive game plan was just, oh, we'll sit back and let the Packers run for 230 yards in the first half. I guess just a bad game plan. It seems like everybody loves the Titans here. Well, I think also there is something about NFL teams and desperation. When you get to week three, four, and five teams that have it won. Like Baltimore this week is desperate.

I mean, Cincinnati went to Kansas City and played desperate football and outplayed. the Chiefs. So I do think in these early games, there is a sense. You can't go 0 and 3 and make the playoffs. Like Baltimore, the season for Baltimore but you can go O and 2. If Baltimore beats Dallas, nobody cares about it. It's all

good. O and 3 it feels completely different. So will Callahan take the ball out of Levis's hands, say we're not going to risk these dumb turnovers that have done us in, we're just going to run the football. And it's just basically two teams grinding it out in a

super low-scoring game. That's kind of what this feels like. But the Titans have had issues on special teams. Jets had a block punt. A lot of dumb penalties in the secondary. I don't know. I guess I'm the only guy here who likes the Packers. Not good enough to put them in my Friday picks, but I kind of lean Packers here. What about you? I'm not touching the Titans. I got burned week one. Shame on me if I bet him again. Wait, did you have them week two as well against the Jets or no? Yeah, no, in week two, I took the Jets.

So I just judgment. That line means nothing. Will Levis's judgment, laughs, says, hold my beer to lines. Yeah. All right, let's go to the second story. The Chief's 2-0, but the offense has been really stuck in the mud. Mahomes coming off a career low, 151 passing yards in last week's lucky win over the Bengals. Travis Kelsey talked on the New Heights podcast about not looking like him.

catching one pass and said the offense has to step up. We got to play better as an offense. I think the defense is playing their asses off. I put that on me. I think it starts with the leaders. I think it starts with, you know, making sure you're going with the right mentality. I didn't play my best. It spreads if you don't fix it.

So I got to get that thing fixed. There's a lot of things that have to go right for anybody to get the ball. For whatever reason, these past two games, it hasn't gone that way for me. And that's football, man. I'm not about to sit here and get frustrated about it. I used to get really, really pissed off. Yeah, but then he got rich. And he got Taylor Swift as a girlfriend.

Yeah. He has 39 receiving yards this season, Travis Kelsey. Yeah. Well, let me defend him here. Oh, please, too. So last year, the Chiefs had the worst receiving core in the league, arguably. And I think they've made it a priority to get this receiving court. They know that Travis Kelsey will be fine.

He is not something they're worried about. He made a big play in that Cincinnati game, one big play. They're not worried about that. They have got to get Watson and Worthy and Rishie Rice and the second tight end. I think Kansas City is making an effort to get a lot of looks and a lot of touches to this receiving core to get it ramped up. It's just like Chris Jones. He'll be great in a big game. You don't worry about Chris, Mahomes, or Kelsey in big games.

It's almost like, it feels like to me, it's very Brady Edelman Gronk. I didn't care in the early part. I knew they'd be good in January. Those guys were always great. Even as they aged, they were always great in January. I think Kansas City is trying to get that. All these guys touches and they're asking more of the young guys. They're not game planning primarily around Travis Kelsey at this point in the season.

They know, like last year, he was invisible for big chunks of the regular season. He was money in January. Well, they did have Pacheco last year. And Andy Reed has come out and said, he might miss the entire season. Now that changes everything. And Pacheco was excellent for them last year. He's a really good player.

Yeah, I mean, this idea to get Watts in the ball and worthy, I don't know, I look at Worthy and I'm like, what is he, Jameson Williams? Like maybe a boom-bust home run guy? No, I think he's a great gadget guy for the best gadget coach in the league. Okay, but that's going to work like one or two gadget plays a game and you better get a touchdown because he's not doing five yards. Rishie Rice is your volume guy. And in the playoffs, you'll watch.

Juju Smith-Schuster, by the way, last time he was in Kansas 802 years ago, was a volume guy in the playoffs. He had a big volume playoff game, remember? He had a big volume, he had a good volume season and a big playoff game. And so I think when Juju Smith-Schuster, Rishi Rice will be the big volume guys, worthy he'll be the gadget guy, Hollywood Brown will come back eventually and be more of a volume guy. We'll see. We don't know if he's coming back. Pacheco, we don't know, like, a lot of optimism around the cheese for you.

I believe they're 0-2 against the spread so far this season with two lucky victories. They've never been great against the spread. They've never been good as a big favorite. By the way, I like Atlanta this week. I think we're going to go head to head there. I don't know why I'm an idiot. I like the Chiefs as a team. I don't think they're, I don't think they're going to the Super Bowl Con.

I know it's only week two. I just, I'm not seeing it. Final story is the Niners. No Christian McCaffrey, no Debo in week three against the Rams. So the pressure then, it's on Brock Purdy, one of the top five quarterbacks in the league, undeniably. Steve Young now come out and says that Brock Purdy should make himself more of a running threat out of the backfield with some of San Francisco's sidelines weapon, adding that it could provide a game-changing element to the offense if they make it to the Super Bowl. He's not. Steve Young, I don't know.

I mean, listen, Purdy is mobile enough. He's not that mobile. He's mobile enough. He doesn't run like the top seven or eight athletes. He doesn't need to. He wins from the pocket. Plus, he's playing for a huge contract. I'm not putting my life on the line if I'm Brock Purdy.

Would you? In week three? Yes. Would I risk injury if I was a quarterback of a team? In week three? That's not worth it. That's not smart. Lamar Jackson risked injury week one against the Chiefs when he ran it 16 times.

Because he was out to prove something. It's all about me. I need to win this game. I can't beat the Chiefs. I got to do it. Like, that's not smart. He took a beating, and they lost. That's the, you know what?

When you make blankety blank a year, sometimes you have to sacrifice. That's what, that's the sacrifice you make. Sacrifice in the playoffs when it means more. Don't sacrifice in week one or two. If Brock Bernie's out here running and gets decapitated, they ain't going on. You're not much of a team guy, are you? No, I think that is smart for the team. They need him healthy to thrive.

Well, Kyle Shanahan wouldn't want him running if he was worried. Do you remember Jimmy Garapolo? the year after the Super Bowl, had a scramble on the sideline, stepped out of bounds weird, ACL popped. He didn't even get hit, though. Exactly. But he's running. Season over, done. The season literally is over if your quarterback goes dead.

Brock Purdy's only injury was in the pocket when somebody hit his elbow. Yeah. That Eagles game. You don't get hurt running as much as you think. What happens is when you consistently run, it's a series of, you know, hits. And after a while, you wake up with a hip pointer. But it's not, I mean, how many injuries, I mean, just top of your head, if I said quarterback running injury out for the year, how many can you think of? It's less about the act.

It's like the idea that you are making yourself vulnerable to linebackers and safety. If you look at when players get hurt offensively, this is when they get hurt. And this is why the NFL outlawed that tackle, the hip drop. When you really watch, Jordan loves a great example. somebody grabs Jordan Love and he's got a bunch of alignment on the ground and all of a sudden they get caught in his foot think out loud everybody on the internet I'm sure has an answer but the rest of us who are thinking just in this moment think of the last time a quarterback went for a run got hit out for the season it doesn't happen what you really what really gets injuries is bad offensive lines so there's congestion around your feet

you get hit somebody bangs up against you I have one two of them a week ago today running on fourth down up the middle and just just concussion. And by the way, and a really bad slide. Really bad slide. If he didn't, if he slided like they practiced, like he practiced, he wouldn't be injured. I mean even, even dolphin players are like it was kind of a random injury. It wasn't a big hit, it was a concussion centric player. That's a great point. That to me was like the Lamar Jackson game one against the Chiefs.

Tua had thrown three picks. He's like, I'm just, He's like, I'm getting, I'm killing the team. I got to make a play. I got to try. And you're over trying. You run on fourth down. You're not thinking. Instead of sliding, he's trying to make a play.

No, that's fair. And I felt like Lamar did that a lot. I don't want to see Brock Purdy. I got to make a play, gets the wins in week three. Just win from the pocket, dude. Yeah. J. Mack with the news. Well, that's the news.

And thanks for stopping by. The Hurd Lie News. You know, I actually, one of my favorite plays this week, I like the Chicago Bears. against the Colts. It's one of my favorite plays. Because I don't think we're quite being fair with Caleb Williams. I'm not saying this just because he's a USC guy,

but I can't think of the last college quarterback that had these expectations. Now, you could say, well, what about Andrew Luck? But remember, Andrew Luck joined a talentless roster. So our expectations were not playoffs. And also, the Colts had made the playoffs nine of ten years before Andrew Locke got there. it's a winning culture. Owner, front-off, the cultural winning culture. And it was a talentless roster.

And it's kind of a small market media. Caleb's different. It's a losing culture that he has to help turn around. All we heard all off-season, myself included, is, man, look at all their talent. This is the most talented bears I've ever had. So he enters a losing culture with a coach on the hot seat. They've never developed a quarterback in the history of the franchise.

in a division now that is easily, offensively the best in football. Vikings, lions, Packers, those are elite offensive personnel teams. Oh yeah, let's throw them on hard knocks and week two on Sunday night football. So Mark Sanchez was on our show yesterday

on the pressure, the unique pressure, Caleb is facing. He's learning so much on the fly. Just imagine drinking through a fire hose. It's a lot of information. There's a lot of stuff being. thrown at him. I will, I will credit him for his demeanor, though.

I mean, sure, does he get upset? Does he hang his head a little bit? Does he get frustrated? Absolutely. And he has every right to, but he's fighting like hell, man. And I, you know, I admire that. I admire what he's going through. I know exactly what he's feeling. And it is really hard.

These guys are smarter, they're bigger, they're stronger, they're faster, and their whole existence is built on ruining your Sunday. So, there's a lot flying at him. He's handling it. you know, the very best he can. I mean, if you go back, I wasn't around for John. I mean, I was around for John Elway, but I don't, there was no internet.

I don't remember the expectations. He was great as a prospect. I remember Yankees. He was drafted or something with the Yankees. And I can remember that. And I remember his career, but I don't remember the expectations for Elway other than he was, you know, he was a great, great, best college prospect I can never remember. But with Andrew Luck, he was going to, you know, a solid winning culture. He was replacing a legend.

They had no talent in the roster. had a terrible O-line. We didn't have high expectations. The expectations here are really through the roof. He's the first superstar NIL quarterback. Bears got all this offensive talent. Big, loud, relentless media in Chicago. Lincoln Riley pointed out,

which is probably the answer to solving his early mistakes. Sometimes when you get into it, get in the competitive situations, especially a new league, offense, new coaches around, and new supporting cast, there's going to be some growing pains, right? You're going to go through some tough moments,

but you've got to continue to go back to the basics, continue to improve, continue to lead. And most importantly, you can't let it affect your attitude, your mentality, the way you play, the way you practice. You just got to keep growing. And Caleb will. He's a fighter. He's going to continue to learn and grow.

I like the Bears this weekend. It's interesting. Greg Kossel, top of the hour. what's interesting is that I said I talked to a GM yesterday that said, man, Anthony Richardson's tape was bad. My staff just wrote on the screen that apparently Greg Co. Sell on the Ross Tucker podcast said Anthony Richardson was missing high school throws. Like easy stuff. So we're all paying attention to Caleb Williams' struggles. They may have a much, much bigger issue.

Chris Ballard on. If this doesn't work, Ursa is wildly impulsive, outspoken, very public. So that game may not look like much to most people, but Anthony Richardson, Caleb Williams is a big, big game. And I like Chicago. Yeah, apparently CoSell said Anthony Richardson has missed a ton of basic easy throws through two weeks that high school quarterbacks can. make. And Greg's not hyperbolic. That's just not, Greg Kosold doesn't just say stuff to say stuff.

Tonight, it's baseball night in America on Fox. Bryce Harper leaves the Phillies in their fight for the NLA's crown is Francisco Lindor and The Mets battle for a wild card spot. Or the D-BACs battle the Brewers. It all begins tonight at 7 Eastern on Fox. Check for the game in your area. So we tend to think that baseball is very predictable. And yes, the Dodgers keep winning their division.

And because of payroll, you know, we kind of know who's going to win. But the truth is the Mets and the Padres last year at huge payrolls and were disasters. The Milwaukee Brewers, I think didn't they clinch yesterday their division again or this week? And Milwaukee Brewers aren't big payroll. There's more surprises in baseball than you'd be led to believe. Yes, the A's can't keep up with the Yankees or Dodgers financially. We know that. But there's more surprises in baseball than you think.

And in the NBA, you know, we tend to think, well, whoever has the stars, but did we all think before last year started that Minnesota would knock Denver out of the playoffs and be a nightmare matchup? Not really. There's more, I think there's more surprises. the end of the season. Maybe the good teams win more middle of the season. By the end of the season, you get surprises. In the NFL and college football, we tend to think of football in America as you do not know who is winning. Well, in college football, five of the last seven national

championships have been won by the SEC. And Texas looks like and Georgia looks like two of the best three teams in the country. Alabama's up there too. But the NFL, that's the one that gives us curve balls. Not really. There basically been a handful of surprises this year. So let's put those up for our television audience. Things that have surprised us. The Saints have blown out two teams. That was surprising.

The Steelers basically, they can't get offense right since Big Ben retired, are only undefeated team in their division. I think that's surprising, though the schedule hasn't been tough. Minnesota and Sam Darnold, not that they won, but the manner in which, you know, they clobbered San Francisco. So three two and O teams, St. Steelers, Vikings have been better than we think. And I think there's three oh and two teams, bingles, Rams, and Ravens. We thought they could be two and oh.

But let's be honest, the Rams have fallen apart physically. Offensively, they're missing virtually everybody. This weekend they finally have tackles. And the Ravens, you know, they lost by a toe to Kansas City or they'd be one-in-one. And just to double down on this, if just three, three things happened this weekend. Most of the surprises go away. Number one, the Chargers

who stayed out east just beat Carolina. If they beat Pittsburgh, then we're going to be like, yeah, the Chargers, we thought they would be good. They are good. In Pittsburgh, yeah, actually, you have to score touchdowns in this league to win. Who knew? So if the Chargers beat the Pittsburgh Steelers, and it's

close, and again, if Herbert doesn't play, they won't. If Herbert does play, they probably will. Then all of a sudden the Steelers' amazing start comes reality check. You have to score. Number two, Baltimore beats Dallas. I like him in that game. Betterers are going both ways.

But if Baltimore beats Dallas, all's right in the world. Baltimore is better than Dallas. Lamar's better than Dak, and they're fine. And the third thing, and again, don't know if it happens, the Eagles cool off the Saints and beat the Saints. Now, A.J. Brown won't play. They're not very good without A.J. Brown. But it is amazing.

And it's one of those things like there's a saying with kids, the days are long, but the years fly by if you have kids. And if you don't have kids, there's nothing truer about kids. A lot of those days with a four-year-olds, they last a long time. But you look up and they're 13 years old. And in the NFL, any week can surprise you. I mean, you look up Sunday and you're like, Patriots beat Bengals. But over the course of time, if you have an elite top 10 quarterback and a B-plus up coach,

and there's a lot of B-plus and above coaches, you're going to win your division or be a wildcard team almost across the board. I mean, Josh Allen, C.J. Stroud, Patrick Mahomes, already lead their division, and Justin Herbert's unbeaten. I mean, if you start looking at the AFC standings right now, you know, Bills, Texans, Chiefs Chargers, and not a big surprise. They got great quarterbacks more than capable coaches. Sean McDermott's more than capable. And if you go look over at the NFC, it's like, I mean, nobody is separated in the NFC, so let's not make any opinion on that. But, I mean, the Saints and Buccaneers, Falcons, look like the three best teams because they appear to have really good quarterbacks.

I think the Saints will cool off eventually. Again, Seahawks haven't, you know, Seahawks basically got a rookie quarterback in Jacoby Brissette. I don't think Seattle's going 17 and 0. So there's just not that many surprises. And, you know, like one of the things I've said, the argument for us in this sports casting business is what do you do with a team like Detroit where Jared Goff, when things go right is excellent, but isn't going to give you anything off script, which generally helps in the playoffs.

And Dan Campbell, I think Detroit's one of the really hard teams to get your arms around. Because we know Dan Campbell is a tough guy and change the culture. I don't trust him situationally at all. He's already had a whiff this year situationally. And the playoffs are all about situational. football. And Jared Goff, I've defended forever, but he gives you nothing off script. And that's the difference between winning playoff games and losing them is off script.

Like Kirk Cousins doesn't win a lot of playoff games. You've got to do stuff that the defense isn't expecting or can't defend. So the NFL is much more predictable than people think. The stock market is similarly. The stock market has wild swings. I've been in the stock market since 1988. Seven out of eight years, it goes up. You put your money in it.

30 years later, you put a 401k, a Roth IRA, you got some mutual funds, they'll go up. Week to week, day to day, it's all over the place. You'll even have bad years. You'll have recessions. You'll have terrible. Good coaches, I mean, Sean McBey appears to be having a horrible season. He had one a couple years ago. It's a great coach.

So, NFL, you got the right quarterback, and you have a beat plus coach. You're going to be a playoff. team. Yeah, six out of seven years, unless you have cluster injuries, which the Rams now do on the offensive line. Tonight, J-Mack, a game, we have the week three schedule. So I'm going to give you the schedule for our television audience. If I said to you, games that feel big, now it's week three, we're not going to be ridiculous.

But I will tell you a couple of games that I think feel really big. I think tonight feels big. And the reason I say that is, can you imagine if the Jets lost what we would talk about tomorrow. We thought Patriots are going to go winless in the division. Yeah. And now it's like, well, Tua's gone for four weeks. They just beat Cincinnati. The Jets don't look good. Okay, so tonight's game is one of those. It looks Dolesville. It's huge.

That's a big one. I'll tell you, bears at Colts. Caleb goes 0 and 3 and can't beat Anthony Richardson. No, no, they won their opener. Oh, you're right. My bad. My bad. And those aren't really playoff teams. But here, you have two young quarterbacks, and we're starting to have real questions. Yeah, that's fair. I think that Detroit-Arizona game is fascinating. I'm just, the more I read and look into the Arizona Cardinals,

there's a whiff of them being the Detroit Lions from last year. Who, Arizona? Yeah, that offense, Colin, the way they steamroll the bills in the first half, the bills made good adjustments, and the way they just boat race the Rams, what if they do that to the Lions? I think you've got to take this team seriously. Well, it should be noted, because they're not a high-profile franchise, that most fans, even fantasy football fans,

Kyler's not a first second or third pick, usually in fantasy football. He's putting up good numbers this year. But if you look now at Harrison, Connor, McBride, they have elite players, quarterback, receiver, tied-in running back, like elite players. And, you know, 30 years ago, a lot of teams felt like they had. It was all about defense, run game.

If you're elite, quarterback, Weapons, you win a lot of games in this league now. You win a lot of games. So Arizona, Detroit, I think I like Arizona. I don't think what they did to the Rams is luck, good fortune. I think they steamrolled them. Eagles, Saints, hot seat game for Nick Siriani. I know you don't like to talk hot seat week three, but that's, I'm sorry, that's the reality.

No, our lead Monday, Saints beat the Eagles. That's probably our lead Monday. They want to run them out of town in Philly. Now, after one loss.
