It's a few weeks before I put on my annual fall hair piece. So... My strongest opinions come from three places. Data, sources, and my eyes. I don't care about awards. I never have. Those are totally subjective. I mean, I watched Embed get the MVP over Yokic, laughable.

Westbrook, got an MVP. By the way, I hear often with DAC, well, he was a blankety blank MVP very close. Data sources, eyes. And my eyes have always told me, and my data's always told me with DAC, if you don't give him a surplus of weapons, he's mediocre. I don't care where he finishes in awards. Eyes doesn't blow me away. Data without stars, bad. and sources.

We've had people on their show and off the show. He doesn't throw a great bull. So the fact that Jerry Jones is taking his dear sweet time with a CD-LAM contract is crazy to me. This will be a bottom five offense in the NFL without CD-LAM. They'll still generate a pass rush without Micah, though I would re-sign him. And they could win games with Cooper Rush

if you give them weapons. So CD-LAM is uniquely important that they don't really have a clear number two receiver you could trust. Running back room is thin and that's being nice. So when Jerry Jones, you know, sort of slow played the CD-Lam comments this week ago. Everybody went, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Jerry has clarified his comments on the contract forthcoming with CD-Lam. we're conscientiously working to get something done we obviously do this because of how bad we want to be together i know he wants to be a dallas cowboy and we want him to be a dallas cowboy so i don't flare too much

when we see something that might be taken the wrong way i really don't okay so let's go to the data argument we have data on dac without a number one receiver it was 2018. It was six years ago. The O-line was better than now, and Zique was in his prime. Before they went and acquired Amari Cooper, DAC was a backup. 62% completion percentage. 87 passer rating.

ATD's four picks. It is a backup. My eyes have always told me he's not super talented. The data tells you he doesn't, he's not Mahomes. He's not Josh Allen, winning four straight division titles with a hit and run game, sometimes no run game, and outside of left tackle, makeshift off a revolving door line. That's Josh Allen.

Mahomes winning Super Bowls with arguably the second worst receiving core last two years in the league. That's Mahomes. DAC needs protection, a run game, and weapons. Remember, those numbers I'm showing you on the screen, how bad was. Dak was. Pre-A-Mari, that's what Tyron Smith and Zach Martin, closer to their president. prime. Martin at that time was arguably best guard in the league, Tyron Smith, first or second

best left tackle. They're not now. And that was Zeke in his prime, or really close to his prime. So this is not Josh Allen, where you can kind of just ham and egg it with the run game and win a division. This is not Mahomes. The receiving core, there is no number one. And Rishie Rice, you can't trust him sometimes to be a two. So there's no proof at all with my eyes or data or my source. that DAC can carry below average offensive skill players. And if you go to the Cowboys schedule, especially early in the season, that's why they got to get this puppy wrapped up. The Cowboys' first eight weeks, five road games, and many of the best defensive rosters

in the league, Cleveland, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, the Giant, San Francisco, and Atlanta now has added an edge rusher. So it's like, you can't mess around with this CD-Lamp thing. You got to get this puppy. You've got to get it finished. Again, I like Micah a lot. But they have DeMarcus Lawrence. And I like Dak.

They won games with Cooper Rush. Seedy Lam, season over. No seedy lamb, season over. And then, think about this. You start slowly. The Cowboys need a quick start for Mike McCarthy's job. So a lot of teams can get off to a slow start. The Chicago Bears with Matt Eber Fluse, they got a win in September.

Jim Harbaugh doesn't Andy Reid doesn't Sean McVey doesn't Kyle Shanahan doesn't Mike McCarthy, Nick Sariani Matt Iber Fluse they got to win in September and early October those first six weeks

you could have splintered locker rooms if things don't go right you got to get CD Lamb in today as soon as possible all right so remember on on draft day you all freaked out

when the Falcons desperately needed and they did need an edge rusher but it wasn't a very good defensive draft and instead they took a quarterback and they had Kirk Cousins and they drafted Michael Penix and the world lost there

you know what well yesterday the Falcons traded for third round pick for Matthew Judon good not superstar but good edge rusher for the Patriots so the Falcons got lit because they took a franchise quarterback. He'll sit for a year, maybe franchise quarterback, over addressing an edge rusher.

It was the right move. I said it then, and I'll say it now. You can find edge rushers. The Rams found Von Miller. Then let him go. Got a trophy. The Eagles went and got Bryce Huff from the Jets. Lost Hassan Reddick, found Bryce Huff from the Jets.

You can find edge rushers. Free agency. You can find them late in the draft. You can find them at the trade deadline. You know what you can't find at the trade deadline? Michael Pennix. You can't find Michael Pennix at the trade deadline. C.J. Stroud.

Nobody's giving up a face of a franchise quarterback early in his career, inexpensive, and probably the future. of the franchise. That you can't find. Even first round quarterbacks are a 50-50 hit. It's the hardest position in the league to get right. Edge rushers are available. I mean, go back to this past March, a prime example. So this past March, it was free agency. And edge rushers are just a cost issue. They're always available. Are you willing to pay for them? Quarterbacks, young star quarterbacks, that's a scarcity issue. There's like, one delivered a year. Five are drafted in the first round.

One becomes a star. That's a scarcity issue. Edge rushers, it's a cost issue. So I just looked it up this morning. In March, these free agents were all available, edge rushers. Josh Allen, Chase Young, Brian Burns, DeNeil Hunter, Jonathan Grenard. They were all in the market. Matthew Judon wasn't, but now the Falcons just traded for.

By the trade deadline, Somebody's going to be moving off an expensive edge rusher. Kaleel Mack, by the way, maybe Bosa. Are the Chargers going to keep both of those edge rushers? What if they need a pop at wide receiver? They can move one. They're getting a bit of a rush, a surplus of pass rush, an inefficiency or a lack of production at wide receiver.

You may have Khalil Mack available. So there is an order of operation in the NFL. Number one, get your franchise quarterback. number two, everything else. That is the order of operation. Get the quarterback. So the fact that Atlanta has an old one and a young one. Okay, I mean, J.J. McCarthy is already out for the year.

We already have a quarterback. We haven't really moved into the beef of the exhibition schedule yet. Minnesota's already down one. Surplus of quarterbacks. there is a order to how this whole thing works. So everybody losing their stuff on the Kirk Cousins Michael Pennix situation was nonsense. I mean, Kirk's old. He's coming off a, like, you know, major surgery.

He didn't move great before it. How do we know he's going to move now? So way to go, Falcons. Way to pick him up. I always love, you know, United States men's national team has a new soccer manager. Alexei Lawless. The voice of reason will stop by. The whole thing, I want to address it next because I don't think soccer, I think it deserves more love.

I think it's the beautiful game. It's a great game. And I think we have the most skill we've ever had. But yesterday, the United States men's national team went and they got a player. They went and got a big time coach, doesn't have trophies, but Tottenham, Chelsea, you know, he's managed egos, pressurized, high leverage situations. But I want to warn the new manager what he's in for as the lead dog of men's team USA. There's landmines everywhere.

Let me give you a heads up on what's going to happen. What's in store for you, Mauricio, because I wish you the very best. This is the one team that I root for, of all the sports teams, this is the one in the country I root for, and I don't care if I'm a journalist or trying to be, you know,

reasonable. You will be blamed for all losses. It's never the players. The players are never responsible. It's always the manager. Greg Berhalter won almost 70% of his matches. There's a lot of politics in our soccer, very, very territorial, landmines everywhere. You'll need to develop a toughness and a culture, both.

We have more skill than we've ever had. Many of our players are flourishing overseas, but we have no grit. So there you go. And did I mention you'll be blamed for all the losses and usually draws as well. You have to then cobble this all together fairly quickly, build culture, grit chemistry. We are hosting the next World Cup, and I won't say it's delusional, but our expectations, my entire life, are about 12 spots in the world rankings higher than what's true. We've been the 15th best team, or the 18th best team, and our guys over here, our lads,

they're young, they'll be your primary opponent, will be young soccer fans online. You'll learn very quickly. They know much more than you. They go by names like Beckett and Ethan, and you. And you're dumb, they're brilliant, although they couldn't make the college soccer team, intermereals, if you will. So you'll find that very quickly. You'll take all the blame. Players aren't held accountable. When Greg Burhalter tried that with one, he was basically on the wrong side of employment.

That's just not the way it works. So you'll have your most leverage now before the World Cup, because eventually you will not win the World Cup, and you'll be blamed for not winning the World Cup. So you've got leverage now. You know, they're not going to get rid of you in three months. Be hard on the players. Create a culture. I'm not sure what it is beyond.

You know, it's sort of like I say all the time. Ohio State football is talented. What are they? That's why Michigan keeps beating them. We've got talent more than we've ever had. What are we? Are we tough? No, we don't have Clint Dempsey anymore.

You know what I mean? Like, we're just talented. So you've got a ton of leverage early. Use every ounce of it. Hold players accountable. blame them for insufficiencies. Yes, blame the players. If they're getting paid all the money in all these pro leagues, then they get hits too.

Because we blame NFL players. We blame NBA players. We blame hockey players. We never blame soccer players. It's always the coach. It's not the way it works in other sports in America. We blame college players in football, basketball. WNBA players get blamed.

NBA players get blamed. Tucker players, fire the manager. So, good luck. It's not a demo. It's a renovation. Here's the good news. It's not a demo. You've got skill.

The foundation is actually pretty damn strong. You've got a nice kitchen. Plumbing needs some work. Lighting has to be completely replaced. New roof is probably in order. But it's not a demo. It's a nice street. Kitchen's pretty nice.

Master bathroom. They just previously redid it. Good luck to you, though. And you've got power for about 18 months. Use all of it. J-Mack with the news. No, no, no, no. Turn on the news.

This is the herd line news. See it's new lighting? Come on. Listen, basically, this guy takes over a job where I just went shopping at Bristol Farms and got all the expensive ingredients, and now I'm handing it over to you, Colin. Make a great meal. That's his assignment.

Just let you know that there's world-class chefs that you're competing against. And you do have the best ingredients you've had. But you better hurry and whip up this meal. We blame athletes all over this country. I do. I blame Dak for this as much as McCarthy. That's what we do. And we do that because they all make... They're making great money, and it's their sport. I mean, it's their sport. We never do that with soccer.

The last two coaches haven't been as aggressive. This new coach... I don't want to try to butcher his name yet. I don't have the pronunciation. But I like his attacking style. When you read about his philosophy for soccer, it is awesome and it fits what our players are. Okay. We've got great attackers.

Just to know this. It's easier to attack when you have superior talent. We have never until now had the talent that can compete. That's true. That's right. When you have Argentinian talent, Chilean talent, when you have a Brazilian talent, or Netherlands' roster, you can be aggressive. It's almost like if you have a knockout punch as a boxer, use it. Mike Tyson, you can leave yourself open.

Ali, George Foreman in their prime. You can leave yourself open, right? But in soccer, if you don't have that kind of talent, you'll get burned so quickly. Now, you can complain about Burrhalter that as we pivoted into a more skilled European-level team, he remained a little more stoic and conservative. That's a fair, somewhat fair criticism. but it should be noted up until Burke Halter's last year

I mean this is a team that lost to Jurgen Cleansman had him Trinidad Tobago Remember in that match? That was a disappointment But let's not just focus on the negatives Let's be positive Come on. That's why I'm bringing

McCarthy out for the season is getting knee surgery. However, the starting quarterback will be Sam Darnold. And head coach Kevin O'Connell talked about how confident he is in their starter. Yeah, yeah.

Our football team has been and will continue to be excited about Sam Darnold and what he's been able to bring. great two days of work here for him this week before we continue on with our preparations for the opener and I can't wait to see Sam not only these next two days but continue to just stack some really, really good days and showing ultra comfort in our offense. I've really been a bright spot to go right along with what J.J. McCarthy had done early on in camp as well. You know what's really disappointing? There's one player in the NFL that I actively root for. one that's it no i mean that i really like him personally and would really like to see him flourish

sam darnall and yet not a single member of this audience radio or tv has ever had my back the minute he throws a pick my platforms are deluged mocking me i support many of your favorite players i've asked just one player in the whole sport maybe send a a positive, a positive comment to me occasionally? Or when he throws the pick, understand that, like, Mahomes throws 10 a year? All I'm asking for, wouldn't it be nice? All this work we do every day. If just one person who watches this show supported Sam Darnold beyond me.

Well, I'm going to support him. I've already, you know, I said on my podcast, I think he's got a lot of value in fantasy football this year. I think you wait, you don't draft a quarterback early, and Sam Darnold's going to up some numbers. Now, he's not a, he's not a sick, he's not Drew Brees. You're not getting 69% completion percentage. But I do think he'll eclipse his like career average. He'll win with his legs. He's got the Aaron Jones dump off game, which is going to be perfect. Jordan Jefferson wants Hawkinson and Addison are back. Still waiting on the suspension for Addison. I think this offense is going to hum. It's just going to take some time. They might start one in five. Let's be

real. They could start one in five. You've seen the schedule. But we're optimistic on the Vikings in their situation. I'm optimistic on our next story. Brock Purdy. Oh, yeah. 49ers QB1. Oh, they were so close to winning the Super Bowl, Colin. So close. Purdy got married this offseason. And in a recent interview, he talked about how that was a solid distraction from the loss. Here's Brock Purdy. We were a couple plays away from winning the Super Bowl. You got to learn from it. It was tough. Still look back on it and think, we wish we coulda, woulda, but that's life. So now he got to respond. Super Bowl hangover from the Niners or no?

It's not a hangover. They get there all the time. It's just a reality of an aging roster that's overly reliant on Christian McCaffrey. And I think you're going to see that I'll say it again. The Rams are younger, have a better quarterback, are healthier. Young rosters get hurt less frequently and heal more quickly.

I honestly, you know, I've been on Denver all year as the most underrated team in the league. I think I'm shifting again for the second straight year to the Rams. Rams are, Rams have really, I'm not sure what the hole in the Rams is. I don't think they have one. They're young up front defensively. But it's like second and third and first round pick guys. Yeah.

Who have all hit the practices. Again, if Stafford's healthy, this is not only a playoff team, it's potentially a one or two seed playoff team. So, you know, me and the family went to Seattle recently. and on the flight back, on the TV screen, they had poker, so I'm teaching my son how to play poker. And he's getting all excited and emotional. And I told him, dude, you've got to remove the emotion from poker, just like gambling. I feel like you're a little too emotionally connected to the Rams, Colin.

I mean, you are really, obviously you're friendly with some people there, but I mean, this is like an everyday thing. You're gassing up their team. They don't have that much talent compared to the Niners. All right. All right. Well, we'll see. By the way, I'm going to see an amazing company today right next to SoFi Stadium.

An amazing co. Can I guess? I'm not going to say it. I'm going to talk about it tomorrow. It's one of the most amazing young companies in the world, and it has to do with sports. Is it TikTok? No. Thank goodness. That's not ours. That's China's. It is, I'm just very excited today.

Final story, back in May, there was a report. The Jets made legitimate attempts this off season. I hire someone who would essentially replace OC Nat Hackett.

You love blasting this clown. Brutal. Listen, he was bad last season. However, to nobody's surprise, Rogers is still backing his guy, Hackett. I felt very protective of him. You know, I think, a lot of that's in their rearview mirror for both of us. But it's been a tough couple years, you know, with some of the stuff that, you know, coach said about him. and then obviously the scrutiny with our offense struggling.

I feel like he took a lot of it on the chin and wore it well, but we'd like to share some things this year. People got really upset with Sean Payton saying, a bit of a mess. Does everybody realize what Sean Payton said was factually true? They led the league in getting plays in last. So you can defend. people because they're your friend, your ally.

I get that. I respect that. I respect Aaron defending his guy. I totally get that. But this is not a false narrative that's being created by Sean Payton and the rest of us, you know, vultures flying over it. This is an organization that reportedly from New York sources who cover the team were interested in bringing a coach in to help Nathaniel Hackett call plays. That's not our narrative. That's the reality of what happened. So I respect Aaron for defending his buddy.

I get that. That's cool. But this is not just Sean Payton making stuff up. I said this couple days ago. I think you were off when I said that on Monday. We knew by the end of his first game as a head coach that Denver going to Seattle, that he didn't know what he was doing. He may be an assistant coach, but he couldn't manage the clock.

And we all went, the hell's going. going on. So this is not something that's just, I know there's a lot of, we have somebody running for president that uses fake news, and the media certainly has biases. I'm not saying that's not true. This is not fake news. This is, there are real reasons to be concerned. By the way, uh, Nat Hackett leaves Green Bay. Jordan Love flourishes. Aaron Rogers. See practice video today? More issues? So I'm just curious. you think this went down with Hackett? Do you think they said, hey, Aaron, we're going to bring in someone to kind of babysit Hackett because he was a disaster? Well, they didn't know if Aaron, they went,

they flew to Malibu to Aaron's pad, Woody Johnson, Sala, I think the GM, maybe. Yeah. And they wanted to curry favor with him. And I think one of the ways to do that was to, you know, say they'll bring in Hackett. Now, that was two years ago. But what do you think they did this year? Do you think they told Rogers, hey, bro, we're moving on. And he's like, Don't do that. That's my guy. Well, I think you can have conversations. I think Aaron wants to win, and so I think you can have conversation.

Aaron can publicly defend Hackett, but I think privately, Aaron, we watched Aaron last year on the sideline shake his head at some of the play calling. Just a reminder. We watched that. That was on television. Aaron wants to win. Robert Sala needs to win. That's right.

He will not get another head coaching job if he gets fired by the Jets, and they go like seven and 10 or whatever. I don't know. What do you mean? You don't know? He's won like 12 games in three years. Todd Bowles got a second job. Many years later.

And he also got that. I believe he was on the Tampa Bay Buck staff. Well, Salah. Right where Brady and then they just elevated him to head coach. Salah's got a lot of confidence. He's well-liked. I mean, Josh McDaniels. Is he even in the league?

I mean, Josh McDaniels was Tebow is a franchise quarterback. Again, riding Tom Brady's coat tails, both those guys. Bowles and McGaigne. I think Sala would get another shot down the road. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it, but based on production, have you seen anything that you're like, well, if I'm the Saints coach and we run off Dennis Allen, I've got to pound the table for Robert Sala.

That's not happening. He hasn't done anything, Colin. Go win some damn football games. Well, that's very emotional. Getting me emotional. Now you're getting me fired up about the J-Mack with the news. Well, that's the news. And thanks for stopping by.

The WNBA and women's basketball, seeing how they butcher the Olympics, leaving Caitlin Clark off the team, sources that the Indianapolis fever will host the WNBA All-Star Game. That's a make-good, and it's excellent, and it's right, and it's smart. Caitlin Clark is the reason. I love Angel Reese.

But Caitlin Clark is the reason of the explosion of WNBA and women's basketball ratings. How do I know that? Because the best players in the league went to Paris and the ratings were flat and the attendance dipped. All the best players went without her on the highest platform where everything exploded with ratings. Nielsen's got a new rating system talking to a boss yesterday that is actually elevating ratings like never before. It's in the weeds, won't waste your time. Everything worked, except the Caitlin Clark less women's dominant Olympic team. So I find this with women's basketball.

It's very territorial. You don't support us, so we're going to do it our way. grow up less petty we didn't cover you because it was a league that didn't make money and you didn't have a connor mcgregor a bryce harper a messy you do now you have a phenomenally popular and talented player and you got very insular and petty and whiffed at the olympics it's kind of embarrassing everything skyrocketed all the ratings through the roof old steff old lebrose on old KD, 20 million viewers. Women's basketball, flat, attendance, suboptimal. So I like this move. When momentum arrives, meet the moment. And I think, listen, you knew two years before Caitlin Clark was coming to the WNBA.

She was becoming a phenom in college at Iowa. We don't talk Iowa women's basketball. She was becoming, it was like Taylor Swift at 16. It's like, what is going on? What is happening in the Big Ten? And you gave her the hardest schedule two years later to start? What are you doing? I mean, the NFL, Caleb Williams, go look at the bare schedule.

Open it home with Tennessee. Don't play the Packers until week 11. Jim Harbaugh, nice early schedule with some doubles. You weren't ready for it, but I like this. No reason to be, continue to be harsh. This is a good move. or Caitlin all the time, lean into her, don't get petty. You were wrong, you whiffed.

No reason to make fun of you. But let's go back into what moves the ratings. A bunch of good players in this league. They never got TV ratings like this. So you left about 8 to 10 million viewers on the table. Men got them. Women didn't for one reason. Okay, we're going to go.

Matt Judon, their best player arguably to Atlanta, there is no tanking in the NFL, but with their lack of offensive power, it's pretty clear. Because I think Carolina is a team that if you go look at their receiving core this year, Bryce Young, the owner wants to win now. I think Carolina in that crudy division is going to win games. Is trading Matt Judon sort of a signal, Greg? guys, that number one pick could help us in a lot of different ways because there's no tanking in this sport, Greg,

but he's kind of the engine for the defense, is he not? He is, Colin, and I understand how people can view it that way, and I'm not going to totally disregard it, but I just think in terms of Matthew Judon and where this team is, and the contract negotiation, Matthew Judon was scheduled to make $6.5 million this year. He was not going to play for the Patriots, on that contract. And the Patriots were willing to do something for Matthew in the short term one or two years. But Matthew, he wants to get his final big contract. He turns 32 today.

And they just had differing viewpoints on his value. And then you put in the fact that the Falcons, out of nowhere, offered a third round pick for a 32-year-old with a history, a long history, of fading in the second half in the season. And I think the Patriots looked at it and said, fine, we'll take the third round pick. We have Keon White, who we feel good about. We're going to give him the snaps as a young player and see what he can do. So, listen, I think only six snaps for Drake May.

What they're signaling to me is, listen, he's not going to play much. We know what we are. Brissette, if he stays upright to the quarterback. I mean, Drake will get more snaps than Joe Milton. but it kind of signals that fairly he's the future, but he's not the now. Is that reasonable? Yeah, I think it is. And I kind of think the Patriots have done a disservice not coming out after he was drafted

or early on in the process and saying, like, look, because I went back and I listened to Andy Reid after they drafted Patrick Mahomes. Of course, they had Alex Smith, who was way better than Jacoby Brissette. and Andy Reid said, look, he's going to sit, he's got a lot of work to do, we need to fix a lot of things, but it's Alex Smith as a starting quarterback of this team. And I think if the Patriots came out and laid those expectations where this is the path that we think he needs to be on to be the long-term franchise quarterback for this team, I think people would look at things a little bit differently and like the microscope wouldn't be quite on Drake May.

Listen, I, nothing against Gerard Mayo. I tend to be a guy ad nauseum that likes offensive coaches. I think they're better at elevating young quarterbacks, for whatever reason, the McVease and the Andy Reed, Sean Payton can fix offensive lines very quickly. I'm waiting Mike Tomlin six years here to get it right. Or Sean McDermott, I like offensive guys. The rules have changed. That said, Gerard Mayo is smart, highly respected.

As I look going forward, let's say this team gets the top pick. There's a kid at Georgia Carson Beck. Going to be the number one pick. 64, 220, big arm, blah, blah, blah. You know, Arizona said, we're going to go get Kyler Murray after Josh Rosen. This kid is a spectacular talent. They can trade that for a haul, Greg. Is there a possibility after Drake May, who is an unfinished product,

that they would say, we're going to do quarterback again? I know it's down the road. but this kid, this Carson Beck kid, is one of the best prospects in a while. What's your thoughts on Drake May, Beck, that number one pick potentially? Yeah, so I don't know much about the college quarterbacks. I'll definitely listen to you on this in terms of what kind of prospect he is. I think the Patriots would entertain it. It depends on where Drake is at the end of the season.

But Colin, I was just talking to some people and looking back at film, I mean, you can make the argument that Jimmy Garoppolo, as a rookie who ended up, I think Ryan Mallet was the other quarterback in the room. Jimmy Garoppolo came out and played, I don't know, 150 snaps in the preseason. Of course, there were four. He played the whole fourth game. But, you know, from the get-go, he was out there slinging the ball around. And he came from a similar sort of offense.

Yeah. Needed to be refined thing as Drake May. And you just look at where Jimmy was at that time and where Drake is at this point. And you just wonder what's going on. Did they mis-evaluate him that he was going to? going to be more of a project than they anticipated. Is Gerard Mayo too much Bill Belichick? No. I would say, Colin, that the possible flaw for Gerard Mayo is he's trying to be too

hard to be the anti- Bill Belichick in a lot of different ways. I mean, you have some veterans taking off periods and practice that sort of affects the flow of practice, especially for a young quarterback like Drake May. You have the Matthew Judon thing that played out on the field. I will say, I've been pleasantly surprised how much of a hard coach Gerard Mayo has been on the field. He had them in pads a lot more than Bill, much

more physical practices in terms of actually tackling to the ground, which I hadn't seen in years. So, Mayo definitely has his pluses. You're just wondering if they're just trying to differentiate themselves from Bill too much too soon in year one. A minute left. I think they play the Eagles

tonight in their second preseason game. They've had some scrimmages with the Eagles. What have they looked like? They had one, and thank goodness for them, there was only one, because it was an absolute train wreck. I mean, you know, they dropped, Jacoby Brissette and Drake May dropped back to pass, I think, 42 times. I had them, the Eagles, for 14 sacks.

They couldn't do much of anything. It started out okay, and then it slowly went off a cliff. And, Colin, it seems like we do this annually, where we talk about the state of the Patriots offense ever since Josh McDaniels left. Remember talking to you from Vegas after a worse practice for Matt Patricia's offense against the Raiders. Last year wasn't good for the Bill O'Brien reset, and now we're here.

that was viral about two weeks ago. It's not a leak in the boat. Like a whale just tipped it over. Patriots open with the Bengals. So Trey Hendrickson could have a monster game. That's an L. He made a really good point. I like Matt Judon, but he's a smaller edge rusher and he wears down.

Dude, Judon was incredible the last two years. So disrupted. He's very, very difficult. I'm not denying that, but he's a smaller edge rusher. You saw this with Micah whenever he faces like a Trent Williams and he just gobbles him up, whereas a Miles Garrett is, he gets better as the season progresses. Max Crosby. That's fair.

John's a little smaller. He's very productive, but he does wear down over the seat. You only can face so many 330-pound left tackles. We got a lot of smoke today. We got a lot of stuff. I think you've got to have that in the Blasey 5, Bengals versus Patriots. That's going to be a bloodbath in Cincinnati. Now, there's no guarantees.

This is not the Big 12. You said I was emotional early. You've got your bets all laid out. I'm just trying to get you lubed up for week one. Oh, believe me. It doesn't count on this show. It counts in my wallet. Or two next.
