Jason, I actually felt bad for Al Michaels last night. I understand he got a big check, but he used to be on Sunday night football with flex games, and he has just gotten a bunch of dead weight, awful, unwatchable Thursday night games.

And I thought, you know, Al's sitting there thinking, all right, I understand the change sometimes, but I felt bad for him last night. Another turd burger on a Thursday night, just a terrible game. My daughter was doing TikTok dances for me. I'm learning TikTok. You told me to get on TikTok. I'm not on there, but I'm paying attention. Well, let's start with this.

Raiders are really interesting. You and I know this to be true. Sometimes it used to be quarterbacks, got drafted by a team, and they felt like they stayed at a team for a long time. But in the last three years alone, you got Matt Stafford changing teams and Russell Wilson changing teams

and Jared Goff and Tom, Brady, Deshawn Watson, Baker, Mayfield. Quarterbacks move all the time. And I saw this story. We touched on that. earlier this week about the mobility of quarterbacks and Derek Carr. So Devonte Adams, who is as good as any receiver in this league, came out. This is real, folks.

He said at the end of the day, if we're just going to concede and say, oh, they double-teamed me. It's forcing the ball to somebody else. Well, I got no business being here in Vegas in this building because that's what teams are going to do. So if you think the only way to get the ball to me is when I'm singled up, I'm going to have four catches on the year. He went on to say, I don't put any. anything on the coaches. Gulp, Derek Carr. Remembering we thought this was an interesting comment earlier this week on the troubles with the Raiders and the star quarterback said this?

There's a lot I want to say, you know. But if I'm honest, I don't need to say it here, you know. You know, and there's things that will be said. You know, I feel like I've, you know, been in this situation a lot where, new new coaches or this or that and you have to you have to teach the new guys like this is how we do it and this is the mentality and this is and and that gets tiring but at the same time it's my job so you know there's there's some of that so i'll say i'll say that right now i think derrick car plays for somebody else next year here's why first reason is Derek car is very good i've defended him for years devonte adams he's the elite top two or three in the league teams tend to keep elite over very good A second reason is Derek's reputation through the years is he kind of plays it safe. And that's what Devante Adams is saying. He's playing it safe.

That's not good in 2022 NFL. Third reason is this current Raiders coach and this current Raiders GM, they didn't draft Eric Carr. They inherited him. And finally, number four is Derek's deadcap hit next year is tiny. In fact, if the Raiders move off him by June 1st, the Raiders save $30 million. Derek Carr is not going to be a Raider next year. This coach, this GM, they inherited him.

And they're losing. So you've got to find scapegoats, right, to keep your job. This is a Derek Carr is on the market. Now, Derek Carr loves being a Raider quarterback, but he has been overcoming. he has been, as I've said many times, the life preserver of the sinking ship many times. I think this is his sixth head coach in nine years. It's a mess. It's one of the poor ownership groups.

His franchise moved. I mean, it's been really, really hard. The coach and the GM, you know, Gruden and Mike Mayock, that was a mess. Multiple first round busts. Guys not even on the team anymore that were drafted just a couple of years ago in the first round. So Derek Carr, I believe, could up. upgrade. But I think the Raiders probably think we can upgrade too. So if you think this is crazy, do not forget in the last three years, the number of quarterbacks who have changed teams,

Goff and Baker and Stafford and Wendt and Matt Ryan, Deshawn Watson, Russell Wilson, Tom Brady. We thought Marcus Moriota was done. Now he's starting again. So I think this means Derek Carr's future with the Raiders is probably short term. It is not. It is not. not the end of the world. He can go to a franchise with more stability, but the Raiders will not get punished moving off him. His cap hit, that dead cap hit is tiny. All right. The second thing. So like a lot of you, I grew up loving sports, and, you know, I used to kind of keep track of records, and, you know, I'd collect baseball cards and try to memorize sports records. Then Google came around and there's really no point to it. Just look it up. I don't have enough space in my brain to

memorized sports now. But one of those records that I've never been into, like I always told you, Cal Ripkin's duration streak, my thing is take a day off, get healthy, let young guys play. I was never already into it. The other one I've never been into at all in football is longest streak of passes without an interception. Your planet's safe. So I saw this this morning. Tom Brady, the goat, closing in on Aaron Rogers record for consecutive. passes without an interception. Yes, and this is the dullest and least dynamic offense Brady's ever had. And yet he's on course to break that record. This offense is 25th in scoring. It's below the Jets and Zach Wilson. It's below the Panthers. It's below the bears

with kid quarterbacks. And that's the record I always think gets into Aaron Rogers' head. is that I think, I mean, Peyton Manning's top 10 all time in interceptions. Who cares? Brady and Manning were about winning. I think sometimes Aaron Rogers is concerned how it looks. I've never bought into this. The number one draw on the NBA, the number one television draw is no longer LeBron James. He's the old guy. He's hurt too often.

He's missed 27, 28 percent of Laker games. He can't play. It's Steph Curry. Is it because he's dominated? physically. No. Because he's blocking shots and flying above the rim. No.

No, that's not it either. It's because he plays fast and loose and it's fun and he takes big swings and he turns it over and he misses a lot of shots. But he controls the tempo. He keeps the game going. He's flying on the border of reckless

but not reckless. People like that. They like big swings. Aaron judge strikes out a lot. People like big swings and risk takers. I've never understood this. In 2022, athletes are getting better. Receivers are getting bigger. They're getting taller. They're getting faster. Throw the ball down the field. Last year, there was a great stat on Joe Burrow. Joe Burrow was an interception machine last year, tons of picks. But he threw the ball down the field and took big, big swings. People love Burrow. Increasingly in years, I've seen Aaron Rogers.

I saw it last year in the playoffs. I'm like, Aaron, stop playing it safe. I'm seeing it this year. Develop the young receivers. Let it go. The one game this year that I really thought in the last month that I like what Aaron did was that Buffalo game. And he was letting it go down field. I think he was three for three on a couple of big throws down the field. And I'm like, you know, Buffalo's got good safeties. Buffalo's got good players. Buffalo's got good defenders and pro bowlers. Let it rip.

And I thought Green Bay, actually, many people thought they were going to get housed in Buffalo. It was very competitive in the second half. And so right now, Tom Brady, in the NFL right now, Tom Brady is 29th in yards per attempt. Dink and dunk. Yet Brady is about to break the, all time passes without an interception record. To me, it's always been meaningless.

Meaningless. You can't be the greatest three-point shooter ever like Steph Curry and shoot 55%. You can't play his style and not have turnovers. It's okay. Go for it. Swing big. Be aggressive. Front offices that are doing that are winning.

Look at the bills. added pieces. Eagles adding pieces. Niners adding pieces. Who's the franchise that drives this crazy? Green Bay never adds pieces. That's why I've said Dallas and OBJ is a perfect fit. Dallas is good. You want to be a little better? Add OBJ to that wide receiving core. Fits your brand. All right. Blazing five. I think we've won three out of four weeks, something like that. Blazing five, interesting week on picks. Taking some real, some interesting picks this week. I think you'll love a couple of them.

Are you going against your underdog strategy that has worked? I think I have three underdogs and two favorites. Okay. The game I didn't bet, I'll tell people, I wanted to take big favorite San Francisco over the Chargers. I hate giving good quarterbacks a touchdown, especially when the weather is not a factor. That to me is the best, most interesting game to me.

I'm fascinated to watch the Niners and the Chargers, because I think if the Chargers get rolled, there's going to be a lot of people out there Sunday night and Monday morning that say, do we have the right coach? Yeah. Everything schematically matchups screams 49ers, blowout. But you just wonder, Sunday night football, a touchdown underdog, Shanahan off a buy has not been great. Think about all the games we thought blowouts were coming. Kansas City over Tennessee.

Buffalo Jets. Philadelphia Jets. KC Tennessee last week. Justin Herbert getting a touchdown. That game to me is fascinating. Really interesting game. Stay away, right? For me, it was.

I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so y'all know. I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed. So I'm starting to see that there's a through line. We also have AIDS on the table right now. Thank you finishing that sentence. I don't think there's a more important year for black people. Really? Yeah.

Fox Sports Saluting Veteran Days, six different branches of a U.S. military, Army, Navy, and Marines, Coast Guard. Air Force, Space Force actually, too. Good to have you in. So there was a wristband gate this week. Pete Carroll took a shot at Russell Wilson. He never wanted to wear a wristband.

It hurt our offense. Russell Wilson fired back. We won a lot of games without a wristband. Nathaniel Hack at the Denver coach came out and said, actually, Russell now is going to wear a wristband when we face Tennessee this weekend. And he explained it. Sometimes you want to get a little creative and those things can get a little bit verbose. So you want to have it so it's easier instead of having to call it and then communicate it.

There's a whole process. I think it also helps with crowd noise. If you have crowd noise going from him listening to me, he just has to hear one wristband number. And then he can go in there and communicate to the guys properly. So why wouldn't a quarterback wear a wristband? Burrow does, Brady does, Mahomes does, Rogers does. It would be like doing a radio show without having a handful of notes. Right? There's a reason they created calculators, so you don't have to memorize all math equations or be, you know, Einstein, go to a calculator.

Wristbands speed things up. Basically, the O.C. can yell in your ear, B12. Oh, okay. And then you can go to the huddle instead of him having to elaborate what play you want, what motions you want, just make sense. It speeds everything up. Here's what worries me about Russell Wilson, who I've been a defender of, is that did he not wear it in? Seattle due to image that he wanted to prove he was smart enough that he didn't need it. I don't need it. And the reason I worry about that, because we've had four or five from Pete Carroll to several players say things about Russell now that he's gone about image. He was too concerned about it. And when four or five people criticize you all on the, you know, kind of the same thing,

a coach here, a defensive back here, a receiver there, a running back there. And they're all saying an ex-teammate, they're all saying the same thing drives them nuts. Well, there's, there's, there's probably some validity to it. And so now Russell's in a bit of a crisis, not a bit, a real crisis, Denver is. And so he's going to the wristband, which I think is the right move. But, you know, why wouldn't you wear it? I've got these players, coaches saying he was really into image, everybody in the league that's great, uses one, you don't. Ryan Ricello was on yesterday, and we kind of talked about the whole, you know, Russell Wilson situation.

I think this is a collection of that it got really tough to deal with. And Russell Wilson, the same as like Aaron Rogers, when they complained about their, their plight. I'm like, man, you need to be on a worst team for me to have more sympathy for you. You know, look, it's cool to be driven, man. And Russell Wilson's an incredibly driven guy, is incredibly successful. He's, you know, I don't know what's going to happen. I can't believe he's going to continue to be this bad as he's been in Denver, Colin.

But like his movement out of there was about making it more about himself. And if you're his coach and you're his teammate, you're like, you know, for the most part, this all kind of work. But because you're not winning MVP's or you're not chasing Brady, like we're the problem. Yeah, it's interesting. I like the fact Russell's now pivoting to a wristband. Use a calculator. They work. There's a reason they were created.

J. Mack with the news. No. Turn on the news. This is the herd line news. Rough one last night on Amazon Prime. Carolina beat Atlanta 2515, but the game stunk. I watched about 30 minutes of it. Impossible.

Deonté Foreman looked good for my fantasy team. He had a buck 30 on 31 carries, shredding Atlanta. Look at these highlights. I mean, look at that tackling color. I put up more resistance than that. I don't know. Any thoughts on four men in the Panthers or maybe Baker Mayfield headbutting his teammates afterward with the helmet? I'm trying to move off Baker. Thank you. Thank you.

But I will say that I do think Carolina, whoever the next coach is, they have some four or five really good players. They have that receiver. They got from Jacksonville. Brian Burns, obviously. They've got a great young corner. They had some random defensive end, who I'd never heard of, had two sacks, two tackles for loss. No, I live in the backfield. I think Carolina has players. They've got to get the quarterback right. That's the kind of franchise that if they nailed a quarterback, let's say you put Derek Carr on that team,

next year you'd be like, let's not wish that on Derek Carr, please. Well, I'm saying, but if you did, this is the kind of team. If you put Derek Carr on Carolina, you'd be like, you know, they've got some really good players. I think they do. When you watch them, they play fast.

I mean, it's a team that humiliated Brady in the box, a pretty stacked roster a couple of weeks ago. Let's talk about Atlanta for a sec. So they dropped the four and six. And at multiple times during that game, I was watching Marcus Marriota struggle in the rain. I'm like, where's Desmond Ritter, the kid out of Cincinnati? Can we see him?

Can we see what he's got to offer? Marriota was awful. Yes, I think that was the question everybody was asking. Yeah. I mean, we don't know if Ritter's good. He might stink. But I like to see him. Yeah, we've got to see the young kid.

All right, next up. Yes, Cowboys Packers, the big game on Sunday. McCarthy has DAC and the Cowboys rolling. Everybody's talking about McCarthy, his time in Green Bay. The ending with the whole massages during team meetings. You know, listen, Dak is backing up his coach here and what this game means to his coach. I honestly can't wait for his Saturday night speech. But not a lot has to be said about this week.

We know what our coach means to us. We know how long he was up there. We know how special this, I guess you can say going back is going to be for him. He's been instrumental in my growth personally and professionally, honestly. Just being able to have that sounding board and whether, like I said, it's on the field, off the field, a guy that's seen. a lot of football, been through a lot of football, been in another place. Yeah, he's been great.

Not only just for me, but for this team and for so many others, and I've continued to say, we're blessed to have them. Well, we live in an avalanche society where it's easier to jump on the avalanche and bury somebody than to defend him. And so Mike McCarthy, he's an easy guy to pick on. And so when the Aaron Rogers McCarthy relationship ended, everybody just buried McCarthy. he was you know he's never been my favorite drives me insane

but I think it's hard not to root for Mike McCarthy because Aaron's had a lot of success without Mike Mike's a good guy he got emotional this week at the podium talking about his family and kids being raised there I you know I don't think you and I necessarily root I mean you're a Jets fan I get it and there's individuals I like to see win

I'd like to see McCarthy win I think it's a lost season anyway I think it's a fun season for the Cowboys. I think they're OBJ away from being really interesting. I think it's a loss season for the Packers. And for McCarthy, you know what McCarthy's got that also helps? Two really good coordinators? I mean, you know in this league.

Dan Quinn's kind of good. Well, Josh McDaniels left Belichick. What's the offense look like? So Quinn's great. They got the young kid doing the offensive play calling or some of it. Dallas just needs a little juice, but I stayed away from this game this week. I think it's fairly close, but Dallas is the better team. So, Colin, you know in the gambling space, there's this narrative-based stuff.

Oh, it's a revenge game for McCarthy, and people will poke fun at that. Listen, we have access to former coaches, former players. That stuff is real. Of course it is. Like the idea to hype your team around, I don't know, a movie song and get there, like a rally and cry. This is going to be, McCarthy's had two weeks to focus just on this game. Yes. I would not be surprised if we saw a half-back pass, fake fuel goal.

Oh, of course. going all out in this game. Just be careful if you want to back the Packers. And finally, Colin, not great news for the Buffalo Bills. Josh Allen missed practice again on Thursday. McDermott came out. He has ruled out two defenders, the safety and Greg Rousseau, their defensive end. He has not ruled out Josh Allen yet today.

He's saying we're taking it hour by hour. That's like up to the minute stuff. They have many starters out. They've had a real injury bug this year, first on defense and now Josh Allen. Yeah, we'll see. on Milano, the middle linebacker. The Jets ran over this defense last week without Milano and the line of him. He's a great player. He's

imperative. Dalvin Cook licking his chops and listen, without Rousseau coming off the edge, maybe the kid Derisow, the left tackle, can contain Von Miller a little and give Kirk Cousin's time. This offense, there's no offense in the league more dependent on a singular person than the bills and

Josh Allen. So this is, you know, you can say whatever you want and that the Minnesota is getting some breaks this year. There are years where you get breaks. Minnesota's had a lot. They were outplayed by Washington for three quarters last weekend and won. This is a break. It's also a break because it's a one o'clock start.

Yes, Kirk Cousins loves those. Cousins is great at one o'clock. He does not like primetime games or at least doesn't perform well. So this looks like this is a Minnesota is getting several timing breaks for this game. Now, people will say, oh, catching breaks. Well, you've got to take advantage of it. In college football, I've talked about this. TCU has faced four backup quarterbacks this year.

They're undefeated. Like, let's settle down. Right, but they've taken advantage of it. You have to, though. And I will just add this. Colin, if the line goes down to two and a half when they announced Case Keenum the starter, which is probably what's going to happen here at some point today. Who are you on at two and a half Bill's favorite?

Well, I wouldn't. See, earlier in the week, I loved Minnesota. Yeah. At four. Five, yeah. It's not. Two and a half. It's a stayaway game for me.

I don't like what. I don't like, because it's weird in the NFL. Sometimes a backup will come in and shock the world. Rejuvenate the team. PJ Walker did it, right? Carolina's had Kyle Allen do it and PJ Walker. It happens all the time in the NFL. Colt McCoy comes in for a week.

And you're like, what? Over time, you kind of see what Jacoby Brissette is. Colt McCoy is. But in a one game area with a lot of energy and the kind of team rallies around Case Keenham, Buffalo could go out and play a turnover-free game, get a block punt. you look up and they're playing at home.

Let's remember Minnesota last week against Washington, down by 10 to Taylor Heineke in the fourth quarter on the road. Washington was the better team for three quarters. No question. Tough push for me, I should say. All right. J-Mack with the news. Well, that's the news.

It's closer to your parents. Whatever it is. So when San Francisco went out and gave up a lot of those picks,

for Christian McCaffrey. A lot of people that I respect kind of freaked out. Oh, my gosh. And my takeaway is if you want something that's really important, you're not going to get a break on a Tesla or a stock price. If you like it, buy it. Is anybody considered when San Francisco went and got Christian McCaffrey? Because Kyle Shanahan said this week,

it looks like he's been here for five years in the Bay Area. Stanford kid, dad was an NFL or smart guy picked up the offense. Has anybody considered San Francisco made this for more than just now they did it for Brady? Tom Brady's career, what does he like? Veteran pass catchers. He even liked Antonio Brown. Gronk takes him a long time. It takes Brady a long time to get comfortable with wide receivers, especially kids.

So San Francisco's Debo Samuel, Brandon Ayuk, still pretty young. But here's what we know. Brady did it again this week. He went on his podcast complaining about Tampa not being buttoned up. He made a point to say it's not about dropping passes. We're just not prepared. We're not buttoned up. He said this three or four times.

Why? Because it's happening. It's frustrating. And it makes it easier to leave. If you complained that a company four or five times about one thing left and said, well, I kept saying I was unhappy with it. So Brady again on this podcast this week, this is what it was at the end of last year. This is what it is again this year, that Tampa's loose.

Tom's intense. Here it is. There's definitely some things we do well. There's a lot of things we don't do well. And I think too much of good, bad, good, bad, good, bad, good, bad, good, bad, leaves you average. and no one's trying to be average. If you want to be a great team, you've got to be way better than average.

So correcting our mistakes, improving our effort, which that's probably the most embarrassing part of our team is our effort level on game day. And that's something we better fix. Again, embarrassing. Tom's, I don't think Tom's ever said that, not much about his team he's currently on. And so McCaffrey is Kyle and John Lynch, are. doing this. Yes, he helps now. But they're in a very weird quarterback spot in San Francisco. Brady's getting older. His parents are getting older. They're in around the Bay Area.

And you got Trey Lance. You have no idea if he can play. And Jimmy Garoppolo, he can. You worry about his health. And you worry about if he gets out played in big games against him a Holmes, an Alan, a Burrow, or a Jalen Hertz. And so Jeff Howe from the athletic was on our show earlier this week. and I floated it. I said, the Brady agent, he has no loyalty to Florida. I mean, there's no real loyalty to Florida, maybe a tax break. But I floated it to Jeff Howell, the Brady San Francisco thing, and he added this. My theory is, if Brady continues to be frustrated for the remainder of this season in Tampa,

and he's going to become a free agent, if he still wants to keep playing, I don't think he's going to want to come back at age 46, seeing an organization or a roster that he doesn't think is going to meet his Super Bowl expectations, and he would enjoy, again, becoming a free agent. So who is he going to look at? Of course he would be gravitated toward his hometown 49ers. I think he would also be gravitated toward Josh McDaniels and the Raiders, if they want to split with Derek Carr.

And I'm not willing to rule out a potential return to the Patriots. I think at this point in his career, familiarity is going to be important. Now, Jeff wasn't reporting that. I threw out my theory, and he had an opinion on it. But I just think John Lynch knows Brady, Kyle Shanahan knows Brady. And for the record, Kyle Shanahan faced Brady in a Super Bowl. Do you remember that Super Bowl? Atlanta?

Do you remember what Brady ate Atlanta alive doing? Throwing to James White, a running back. I think he had like 13 or 14 catches, a touchdown over 100 yards. Shanahan sat and watched that for three and a half hours. He knows Brady and past catching running backs are unstoppable. You can't tell me, nobody makes a big decision for one reason. They gave up a lot of picks to an expensive running back with a lot of injuries. I think they did it for now.

Kind of feels like Shanahan had that in the corner. Tommy would like this. Tommy would really like this. Just a thought. Speak it into existence. I like this one a lot, Colin. This might be your best one since I joined the show. Brady and McCaffrey.

This is an amazing company that is all in on our military men and women. Brock Heured is such a great guest for us. Played in the NFL. He's doing the Oregon-Washington game this week, which if you live in the Pacific Northwest, it's just nothing but angst and animosity it makes for great sports. I do want to talk about this, though, because you know the Seahawks as well as anybody at this network.

And obviously, Gino is a fantastic story. he's become a very accurate thrower of the football. And we also know that this draft class is an all-timer. I mean, six, five stars, six guys playing a lot. But the defense has gotten so much better. They moved off a coordinator. Is it a combination of stuff for Seattle being the shock of the league? Or is it just, Gino?

What is it? No, it's all of that, Colin. It is a rookie class that is now rivaling what they had in 2012 with Russell and Bobby and Bruce Irvin, who's now back in the fold and a bunch of starters on the back end of that draft. So it's the rookies. It is absolutely the youth movement they made on their staff. They got rid of Ken Norton. They moved on from a secondary coach.

They moved on from an O-line coach. Good coaches in the league. Great resumes, but they had to get younger and hungrier on that coaching staff. So Sean Desai and Clint Hurt and Andy Dickerson, who came over with Shane Waldron, was in an assistant O-line role. He's got to be, I know they don't have assistant of the year in the NFL like they do in college called the Broils Award in college. And I think actually the guy here in Eugene, Kenny Dillingham, the OC should run away with that and it shouldn't be close. But in the NFL, I may give it to Dickerson or Shane Waldron.

I mean, those two and what they're doing with air raid offensive tackles, Colin. They were air raid offensive tackles in Wazoo and Mississippi State. And now they're road graders and a couple of the best run blockers in the NFL. The little corner, not little, 6-4 corner was a receiver at UTSA. He was a roadrunner. And we asked Pete Carroll why he fell to the fifth round. He said, watch his college tape. I mean, it was not good.

I mean, he couldn't play the position. And now he's the rookie of the month on the defensive side, four picks. Charles Woodson we talked to yesterday said, dude, is unique and special. So it's a mix of all of that. And Pete is back in his happy place. All right. You covered him. You know him from LA. At USC, he had new groups every two or three years. And he built a dynasty in the 2000s. He's got a new group now. After 10 years, it is a new group, a new staff, new players. Pete's in his happy place. And they are, as you said, the biggest surprise in the NFL. Before I get to college, he's got the Husky Duck game and also TCU Texas play this weekend.

He just had. He called Texas last week. One more question. There's been four or five people taking shots at Russell Wilson. He's kind of image conscious. And he didn't wear a wristband for years. And it does worry me because most of the best quarterbacks do. It speeds things up.

It's like doing math with a calculator. And it does worry me that Russell thought it didn't look right, the image of it. I can do it without that. Now he's going back to it. is that a fair criticism that, you know, some of his teammates in Seattle said he was a little image conscious instead of just like worrying about the team, it was Russ. Is that fair? I mean, Colin, it's what happens when you're a franchise quarterback for a decade in one place. I mean, tell me one environment over the years where there was no noise at the end of a franchise quarterback's run or even in the midst of it.

Maybe Brady and Belichick, but six Super Bowles couldn't keep their marriage together. Aaron Rogers, Brett Farve in Green Bay, Big Ben in Pittsburgh. I mean, go through the franchise guys that are somewhere for 10 plus years. It's kind of like a starting quarterback in college football. The longer they're there, typically the more vitriol you get from the fans. So, yeah, after a decade, I think you're hearing some of these things that Pete, that organization, as they did with so many of their stars. Think about it, Colin.

Think about the off-to-field stuff with Marshawn Lynch. Think about the head budding with Richard Sherman. Think about the cast of characters, Michael Bennett. And all the way along, what did Pete in that organization do? They kept a quiet. They kept that noise. You love to say noisy. Right.

Noisy things bother you. Noisy teams bother you, rightfully so. They kept a lid on all of it. And some of the friction at the end there with Russ and a franchise QB and everything else, Pete protected, he covered. But now that he's not, and when he's asked in particular about Gino, and, you know, if the Seahawks are the biggest surprise in the NFL, go ahead, and tell me. Tell me who has been a bigger, tell me the last Gino Smith, because I can't find it.

Yeah. It's not Kurt Warner. Kurt Warner came out of nowhere, first organization. Tanna Hill is close, but Tanna Hill banked a lot of experience, big numbers in Miami, right system, right fit, comeback player of the year, numbers really that rival what Gino's doing this year. But again, he banked a lot of experience elsewhere. Tell me the last Gino Smith story. Yeah. Four organizations. Honestly. It's, it just, it's, it's, it's just, it's, It doesn't and hasn't happened, and it's just truly extraordinary in our market. Okay, you're doing Washington at Oregon. Oregon's dominated this series.

I have said, and not because I'm from the Pacific Northwest, I give them a little bit of a mulligan in Georgia. It's in the South, new team, new coach, new quarterback, new staff, and Georgia's probably the best team in the country. I just, I'm not saying it shouldn't count for Georgia, but let's not be too punitive for Oregon. I think they're going to beat Washington. I think they're going to run the table. think they win the pack 12. I don't know what the secret sauce is, but they look big and athletic

offensively. I think they have a chance to get to the playoffs. Am I nuts? What do you see on film? No, I don't think you're nuts. The defense is worrisome. Washington's defense is more worrisome. You remember back in the 90s, Colin? Do you remember this guy named Steve Antman? Yeah. Remember him? Yeah. He wore number 90. He was 65-2-95, and three Arizona blockers couldn't corral him, right? I mean, he was number two pick, unbelievable player. They got a number 90,

and this is nothing against Void Tuna Ufu, and he's a great kid, but he's wearing number 90, and he's 6 foot 255 playing D-tackle. I mean, it just, you just can't sustain. Oregon's interior, their D-line against Ohio State,

against the Georgia, against the top-level teams, we'll have a hard time. Their defensive metrics are what they are. They're near the bottom and third downs, near the bottom in some critical areas, past defense. So they've got to score a lot. The good news for them since Georgia, they've scored 48 and a half points a game.

Yes. Nobody is slowing them down. Yeah. And they've got four tight ends. They've got four running backs. They've got bow-nows, this system. And bow-nows and playing with the confidence that we've never seen before. Receivers are coming along, veteran O-line with a bunch of fifth and six-year-grown men.

So their offense is real. as you said, having Washington and Utah at home, if they were on the road, maybe a different story, but they get them both at home, and then obviously Oregon State to end it before the Pac-12 title game. Yeah, I think Oregon's a real deal. I don't think they're going to lose again. We've got a couple minutes left. Texas plays TCU. I like Texas in this game. You just had them. They now have Gary Patterson on the Texas staff. What concerns me about Sark in his career, he loses a lot of shootouts. His defenses never can quite. What do you make of Texas today? Yeah, Texas is a little bit like, I mean, they're much more stable, so this isn't a totally fair comp.

But they're kind of like the Arizona Cardinals. And remember the Cardinals last year? Yeah. Right? They started out so fast. They've got superstars. They've got great speed, great talent, but they just can't function together. They can't bind the team together.

That's what you're talking about, right? Connecting the whole team, complementary in every phase. That's the challenge that Sark, I think, is still building. It was a big win on the road. They got over the hump, something they had. had not done on the road in two years there in Texas should instill a bunch of confidence. I need to see how healthy TCU is, right? That big 12, we have seen surprises each and every week, and a lot of it has been based on health. And I think TCU going through a gamut they've never

run through together, first time for Sunny Dykes and a lot of these pieces, I think that's why there's seven and a half point underdogs to a three-loss team. Again, stuff you just normally don't C in college football. But kind of like the Seahawks, man. It's been topsy-turvy, fun year to follow. Good stuff. Blazing 5, top of next hour. It's going to be, you know, it's been a lower scoring season. You watched last night and you're like, this is awful football. We're down a touchdown, seven and a half to seven points a game from two years ago, offense. And my theory is, we're playing quarterbacks who are not quite ready to start, but it's such a quarterback league now. You're seeing people kind of force the issue with unproven college kids. secondly, we're taking big risks on coaches.

We're doing coaches that may not quite be ready for the job because there's more turnover, more pressure, more money at stake. So the league's getting very pressurized and people are taking bigger risks on coaches who aren't quite ready and quarterbacks who aren't quite ready. And what you're seeing is some really bad offensive football, which means in the playoffs, bet on Mahomes, you know, bet on the quarterbacks who have been there before. Colin, this week, we may be down three starting top 15 quarterbacks. Kyler Murray, Matt Stafford, Josh Allen may all miss the games.
