So some great NFL draft goodness and of course some NBA. We have lots to get to today Friday weekend hobnobbing. Plus we play Covino or Belichick. Starting point is 00:03:47 But first and first mostly we be rocking out. Let's go. Today's Friday. You know, I was Sam on the ones and twos. Know what I want you to queue up, Sam? We do it every NFL season. So I think in a little bit we should break out. Things that made you go, hmm, NFL draft edition.

And you might have missed it yesterday because of all the excitement of day one of the NFL draft. We had a really cool over-promised episode. We had a half-hour sit-down with the one-minute man, KFC from Barstool,
Starting point is 00:04:39 talk some baseball, talk some NFL, just talked to life. He's a good dude. So KFC was on Overpromised yesterday. Again, that's on Fox Sports Radio's YouTube page. But thank you for hanging out with us live. So pumped for the weekend. Hope you had a great Thursday night. I hope you enjoyed the draft.
Starting point is 00:04:55 Hope you had a better time than Shador Sanders. Because that's got a few weird. Listen, as he said, that's not what we expected, not what we came here for. You know, I got this whole party room for nothing, but I hope you know that was better than that. If you take a listen to Shador himself. We all didn't expect this, of course, but I feel like with God, anything possible, everything possible. I don't feel like this happened, you know, for no reason. All this is is, of course, fuel to the fire.
Starting point is 00:05:25 And under no circumstance, we all know this shouldn't happen. But we understand we're on the bigger and better things. tomorrow's the day we're going to be happy regardless Give him feel Give him fire And here comes my song Expect the unexpected
Starting point is 00:05:40 Give him that which he desires Ooh Yeah Shador Sanders Is obviously one of the big surprises We're going to go over the things That made us go Hmm
Starting point is 00:05:48 But I got to give mascots credit This is just a quick one-off This morning At my kid's school I volunteered to be the mascot For the big assembly Of course you did Why would I not?
Starting point is 00:06:01 I was doing the running man. All the kids, you know what the kids want Danny G more than anything? What do you think in 2025? I feel like you're already like a real life mascot. Candy. They want to be left alone. Yeah. True.
Starting point is 00:06:11 But all the kids are... I want candy. Dino nuggets. Vapens. These are all great answers. Legos. Kraft mac and cheese. Minecraft movie.
Starting point is 00:06:22 They all want you to do the gritty. It's wild. Like, I'm in there. I'm doing the running man. I came out there dressed as the lion from my daughter's school. every kid's like, do the gritty, do the gritty. Are they all Justin Jefferson fans? I had my daughter's friends tell me to do the same thing.
Starting point is 00:06:37 I said, no, you'd do it. You don't tell me what to do. You nose picker. Get out of my face. Well, I mean, unlike you. I don't do what you tell me to do. You're five, beat it. I'm a man of the kids and people.
Starting point is 00:06:46 And also, I was in a costume. So I was like, sure. So I was doing the gritty. I was acting a fool. But, hey, listen, these stupid things you could do for your kids, they're only one, they're only young ones. And they only think you're cool for so long. So my message, do it.
Starting point is 00:07:02 Take these dumb opportunities. Guess what I could check off my fool's bucket list? Mascot. You were dressed as an octopus? Big ass lion, Danny J. I was a lion. And we tell you, you could only breathe through the eyes. I was thinking the whole time, like, what if I pass out?
Starting point is 00:07:18 And they're like, oh, my God, the lion's dead. How appropriate. You're always lying. So not only that, I mean, if you really want to give props to the mascots, it's not about you doing the gritty and barely survive. because he couldn't breathe. It's about that these mascots in today's game are super athletes. The mascots in today's professional sports, for the most part, can do amazing things,
Starting point is 00:07:42 especially in the NBA. NBA mascots, these guys are putting their lives at risk. They're doing things that the average fella can't do. Are you saying I wasn't doing flips into slam dunks? That's what I'm saying. On a trampoline? No, and I remember back in the day, I used to know the guy that was sly from the Nets. Remember the Fox from the Nets, that mascot?
Starting point is 00:08:01 I would hear stories all the time about how much they put their body through and how hard it is to actually get that gig. You have to be a next level performer and athlete to actually be a professional mascot on that level. I totally forgot when you used to hang out to slide the mascot. That was your stage when you were into like furries, right? I mean, it was a weird phase and all, but yeah, I used to roll it all. In fact, I used to roll with all the mascots. I walked in one time and Kavino was like, get out of here.
Starting point is 00:08:25 I'm like, and he was with Otto the Orange. It was very strange. Do you remember the best mascot episode ever in the NBA? I think it was 2013 when Rocky was lowered down from the rafters and he had a medical situation. He collapsed and the Nugget girls, the dancer still danced around him in a circle. Around his limp body. His lifeless body.
Starting point is 00:08:48 So shout out to all the mascots. Anyone that ever did in high school, college. I feel like I burned a thousand calories easy. Just bouncing around and dancing. and in this suit, and it's so hot, and you can't breathe well. So, hey, props again, and I did have some Mrs. Met fantasies when I was in that costume.
Starting point is 00:09:08 What does smell like in there? You know, I lucked out. The school got a new mascot costume at the end of last year because I can only imagine some of them are dank. I heard they smell like hot farts. Is that true? Of many of them. Hard to wash those, I think.
Starting point is 00:09:22 Got to go to send them to dry cleaning. I don't think you put that in the washing machine. No, new. So that was Rich's morning. If that was hard to follow, he was the school mascot at his kids' grade school this morning for the morning, the Friday morning assembly. Yeah. And my daughter, people are asked, did your kids know? I gave my daughter two hints.
Starting point is 00:09:41 I said, assembly and handshake. There's going to be something funny. She's like, what? So she won an award, and the mascot always high fives the kids. But instead of a high five, I did our, like, softball handshake. And she looked like, wait a minute. Wait a second. So let me ask you this.
Starting point is 00:09:59 Since you're talking about it, before we get into things you made, that made you go, hmm, NFL draft edition, this was your first time playing mascot for the kids. You think you did a better job than other parents
Starting point is 00:10:11 that were previously the mascot? Is that what you're saying? I feel like that's what you're getting. What I really want to say is, I could only imagine, they felt so inadequate. What makes you think that you were so much better? My gritty?
Starting point is 00:10:22 My running man? Yeah, but if it's a liberating sort of thing, sort of thing, like a freeing sort of thing where everyone just wants to be there's their silly selves. You're saying you're best at it? Do you know the things that you want to really do as yourself? That's what I mean. If everyone
Starting point is 00:10:38 feels that way, what makes you so much better? If you told me, Rich, come on, do the gritty? I feel embarrassed like, I don't know guys. Do I want to do it? It's like Halloween. You're anonymous in the costume. Right, yeah. As a mascot, you can just be a goof. But that's my point. If he felt the freedom to be even goofier than he already is, does Doesn't that seem apply to every parent that's done it previous?
Starting point is 00:10:59 I don't half-asset. So I'm asking. Best mascot in the Valley. That's why. So what I'm asking is I'm not saying you weren't better. I'm saying what made you better. I already got calls. People saying, hey, do you want to be the dinosaur universal?
Starting point is 00:11:09 I'm like, no, no can do. I'm busy. I'm busy. I was asked, do you want to be Optimist Prime? I said, sorry, guys, can't. Man, can't do it. We know you already compete with them as a coach. Better mascot, you are gotly.
Starting point is 00:11:22 Come on. Come on. Give me a break. So that was Rich's morning. Mine? Man, I was just lamping, dude. Lamping, enjoying the glorious Friday, getting ready for the weekend,
Starting point is 00:11:33 watching lots of highlights from last night, of course. So yesterday, got home, I devoured the draft, and could I tell you, you know there's times where there's certain things that are so great devoured? You mean you didn't have to sit through the long-ass walk that each player had to make?
Starting point is 00:11:47 I did like how some of them tapped their logo with the team, and some gave a little more, a little more style when they tried on the hat in the mirror. I thought that was cool. Lids had to set. up. But Tyler Booker really leaned
Starting point is 00:11:59 into that for the Cowboys. Yeah, that was cool. I'm going to tell you this and, oh man. He was... Yeah, but he hit the logo real nice. But you know why? I mean, think about it. Alabama to the Cowboys, like, those are two, you know, he's played for some legendary places now. My thought is this. Before you get into all the things that made you go, hmm, the NFL draft might be the best programming to DVR by
Starting point is 00:12:25 I got home about an hour into the draft. I turned my phone off. I turned it on silent. And I told my wife, DVR the draft. I'm at baseball practice with my kid. No one, no parents said anything to me. The ability and freedom to start that an hour and 15 minutes later and be like, and the first pick, once I watched them all walk down the aisle.
Starting point is 00:12:46 I watched them hold up the jersey. And I was like, fast word, fast forward, fast forward, fast forward for it. The pick is in. Press play. Dude, it was amazing. I recommend everyone do it in the future. A baseball game, a condensed version of a baseball game is always kind of fun too. I mean, I like sitting through a baseball game, a manageable two hours nowadays, two hours plus.
Starting point is 00:13:06 But if you happen to miss it and you watch the condensed version that the MLB app offers, that's pretty cool because it just cuts out all the fat. That's what my dad does for SNY and the Mets. A lot of times he'll be watching some nonsense with his wife. And when she goes to bed, he's like, oh, I'll turn on the Mets. And he'll watch, it's like they trim it down to like an hour. I'm trying to think of what else would be good. Like maybe some sort of pageant. Fast forward.
Starting point is 00:13:28 Look for the bikini part. Yeah. And then see who wins. You know, that was fun? You know, it's a good thing to DVR? The Bachelor. Because there's a lot of nonsense downtime on a date with someone you don't care about. And you're like, I, you're going to fast forward.
Starting point is 00:13:42 It's a three-hour show. So, how about smut? Sometimes you're just looking for the good parts. What's the good part? I want any tell the room. That's case by case. Why don't you tell the room? I mean, it all depends on what you're thinking.
Starting point is 00:13:54 thing is, I guess. So let's get into it. I was Sam. He broke out the football sound effects. Every football season, we do it on Mondays. Things that make you go, hmm. Things that make you go. NFL draft edition, your thoughts, your observations. There's no wrong answers, no wrong phone calls. There's anything you took in yesterday. This is where we get you involved. We do it, like Rich said, throughout the football season we do it today. Special edition as it continues. 87799 on Fox. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:14:31 What stood out to you? It doesn't necessarily have to be about the pick or the surprise, but maybe just a weird observation. Like, I'll start off with one. It's an obvious one, but it did happen. Did you see when Roger Goodell came out on a bicycle?
Starting point is 00:14:47 Can we start there? No, but I love that. I noticed how gleaming white his kicks were. I did notice. I did notice that. He was rocking some shoe white last night. Those were mint. But did you notice how long that walk was? I did mention that. Our boy Jack Mack said it looked like they were in a furniture store. It did look like they were in a furniture warehouse just sitting there. But that walk reason to fast forward. It was a long walk. It was like, man, you know, that was very noticeable. I did notice that.
Starting point is 00:15:22 When the bikes were all lined up on stage, did you notice that the bike James Jones was on was wobbling? He was having trouble balancing it. It's hard to ride a bike slow. It's hard to ride a bike slow. They were all kind of getting into a circle and I was like, something's bad might happen here. Imagine they all tip over like the motorcycles and peewey's big adventure? Yeah. So, all right, Gadell's gleaming white sneakers came out on a bike.
Starting point is 00:15:47 Now, Bears fans had a laugh at it. I thought it was really cool when Clay Matthews had the, oh, I have a letter from the president, and it's just a total diss at the bears. It was a good little prank. I enjoyed it. Straight from President Trump, the bears still suck. My fellow Americans, and we're like, oh, this is a real letter.
Starting point is 00:16:08 I know, from Trump himself. Now, Covino, pick number one was the obvious one, Cam Ward. And then the fireworks sort of started from there because we have a trade. and we saw Jacksonville move up, and I feel like they gave up quite a bit to get that number two pick. So I ask everyone in the room, Dan Byer, good to see you, my friend, Danny G., Iowa, Sam, Kavino & Rich, Spottie. If you're Travis Hunter, is Jacksonville much better than Cleveland? Where would you prefer historically to play?
Starting point is 00:16:43 I feel like Jacksonville's trying to build something now with new leadership, but where would you rather play? Dan Byer. I think that it's the opposite of. historically. And that's why I think it was so important for the Jaguars because, again, we know about the Jaguars in London. They're not going to be moving to London. It's not going to happen. They're going to be building basically a brand new stadium on the side of their current stadium. So the Jaguars are in Jacksonville for a long time, but they needed a star. Like Trevor Lawrence did not cross over into that first overall pick quarterback superstar in the NFL. And so I think
Starting point is 00:17:17 it was value to Jacksonville to have what could be possibly the next superstar in the NFL be on their team. And, you know, it could elevate Trevor Lawrence's game. I think so as well. And it also is a commitment to Trevor Lawrence because you give up a first round pick in a draft next year that we think is going to be pretty good with quarterbacks. And he's got that long contract. So there would be a heavy cap number. But remember in February, we were dissecting that Steelers Trevor Lawrence rumor? So it wasn't out of the realm of possibility that, Jacksonville would want to move on. I think that that move said a lot of things about what Jacksonville wants,
Starting point is 00:17:53 where they're going, and what they want to be. And I think, Kavino, is it safe to say for the first time in a long time because of Travis Hunter? And maybe Trevor Lawrence, that's a little rejuvenated. Jacksonville will be exciting to watch this year. You're going to have another reason to watch Jacksonville. Without a doubt, and I think that's why they made this move. And, you know, great analysis, DB. But what I took away from it, too, was how excited he was.
Starting point is 00:18:17 was to say he wanted to play in Florida. He seemed pumped about it, genuinely excited. Duval! Yeah. Breaking out the Duval. He leaned right into it. Take a listen. Well, let me preface.
Starting point is 00:18:28 This is actually a little mashup of Liam Cohen doing Duval from, what, a few months ago? Yeah. And then Travis Hunter. Nice. Duval. I just did my best Duval back there, but I got it. Duval. Yeah, immediately embraced Florida.
Starting point is 00:18:47 And, you know, his excitement, I thought, was contagious. I have to also mention that neon pink jacket he was rocking last night. Looking hot. He was looking like Kelvin Washington. I saw him wearing a pink jacket similar recently. But yeah, man, that was a cool pick and a very surprising one. And how about him taking the call while Little Wayne was standing right next to him? That was cool.
Starting point is 00:19:10 Picture looks like he's Little Wayne's son. It's great. But the other thing, we watched a lot of Buffs football. Tons of the country did because of Dion Sanders. the one thing about Travis Hunter, you just got to hit him accurately with a short pass. He'll do the rest of the work. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:25 So this should be easy money for Trevor Lawrence. Should be interesting, and the Jack seemed to be committed to giving him an opportunity to play both sides of the ball in some capacity. So, again, makes Jacksonville a hell of a lot more exciting. Now, where do you go from there, I was saying? Well, can I, before we get past the second pick in the trade, me and Jason were talking about this,
Starting point is 00:19:45 and we talked about this on Doug's show, that Cam Ward was completely acclaimed. by the trade. He was given no shine. And it's like, yeah, we might have assumed he was going to be the first overall pick. But I've been told that that trade between Cleveland and Jacksonville was in the works for weeks. So it's like they could have waited a few minutes and given Cam Ward more of the time he deserved as the number one overall pick. Let it breathe a little bit.
Starting point is 00:20:07 It didn't. He was like he got 45 seconds. And then, you know, Adam Schaefter was all geeking out and stuff. So I don't know. That's another great observation. No, what's talking about Cam Ward today? You're right. When all said and done, everyone's going to remember that Cam Ward was the number one pick.
Starting point is 00:20:21 But you're right. That was the big story. The bigger story was the Cleveland, Florida trade. Yeah. The other thing that I would say to that is we've known Cam Ward's going to be the pick for about the last couple of weeks. So it is, there is drama with all of this, and there wasn't a lot of drama. And I felt that even though to the same's point, if the trade was in the works for a car, of weeks. It happened last night. And so that's what was going on. So, as you just said,
Starting point is 00:20:53 Cam Ward's going to have a great career and it's going to be a footnote that he didn't get his five-minute highlight package. I'd be more mad that if they were, you know, talking about Schuador Sanders and why he didn't go at two or three or whatever instead of talking about Cam Ward. But in reality, I'm not heard about Cam Ward. It's funny. To your point, guys, I made my notes. Kavino has his notes. Do you have Cam Ward written anywhere? I do. Oh, I have a whole list of my observations, and I do not have the name Cam Ward on my list. You know, like when I made reference to him being the first pick and props to him and the Titans, that's really it.
Starting point is 00:21:28 He did become a meme, though. There was one meme that floated around right away because of the lack of flash, how he just looked clean with a little chain. And the meme said, no flashy jewelry, no flashy suit, no flashy girlfriend, hogging the attention, just a regular suit, thin chain, alma mater pen, and his parents buy him. his side. That's kind of cool how clean he looked. That's kind of cool. You stand out by not being flashy at a moment like this. That's kind of cool.
Starting point is 00:21:55 I respect that. I have a ton more observations that I know Kavino does as well. But if you want to talk about style, as they say, drip. We said it before we even got off the air yesterday. I knew social media would rip apart Adam Schaefter's odd suit hoodie combination. It was noticeable. And I got it. It was a little chilly.
Starting point is 00:22:15 He even matched it. But I knew it. The minute I saw it, I'm like, oh, like, you know, 50-something or a white guy trying to wear, like, the hoodie suit combo. Oh, I knew it. But you know why we recognize this stuff? A, because we have eyes, but B, because it's such a big night. And these are lasting images, right, a la la'a the Brett Farf situation where he's there in his wranglers and his shorts. Like, these are lasting images in our minds.
Starting point is 00:22:37 So on a big night like this, you can't help but notice what people are rocking and what they're doing it. And the actual choice that he made. So he chose to do that. Granted, it was probably chilly. I get it. Maybe it was a last minute thing. But it's hard for you as the guy watching on such a big night not to notice that, silly as it sounds.
Starting point is 00:22:54 Well, if you want to chime in, we got plenty more to talk about with the NFL draft because, I mean, night two for the first time in a while, there's some quarterbacks, there's some players that were not taken yesterday that I think it's more incentive to actually pay attention tonight. I don't know the last time I was this pulled in for night two of the draft. So we'll get to that and a bunch more. right here at Kavino and Rich on a Friday at Fox Sports Radio.

Starting point is 00:24:41 What's the news, huge news? We created our own podcast. called Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts.
Starting point is 00:24:54 We're starting a trend. But this one's extra special. So how did we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it. Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band. Before Jonas Brothers. This is how you guys.
Starting point is 00:25:15 Remember it going down? Yes. I have a very different memory of this. We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, where people could call in and say, Hey, Jonas. And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey, Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys.
Starting point is 00:25:30 Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. But with two kings from entirely different worlds, just how long can their empire survive? The largest tax investigation in American history. You need to tell me what you know. is somebody coming after me.
Starting point is 00:28:45 Jacob told Levan, you're ruining my life. Listen to Kingdom of Fraud on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Is this about Goodell's shoes or what? Not it's about Cam Ward.
Starting point is 00:29:04 Yes. Nah, Gaddle's shoes. Those are fresh and clean. Those were white. Did he buy those products you see on Instagram and TikTok? What is it? When you see the foam, you get in the zone. He was using Shulorius. When I see the foam, I'm in the zone.
Starting point is 00:29:21 Well, our buddy. Or he was using some magic eraser on those bad boys. They were gleaming. Magic eraser, best thing for your Jordans and Air Force ones. Fun fact. Our buddy Michael Yo chimed in. He's a big Miami fan, so he might be a little jaded. But he said, Cam Ward, all business.
Starting point is 00:29:38 No outrageous bling. No flash. He's going to be rookie of the year. The kid's ready. So, I mean, you know, I think it is. a fun night though to see how everyone represents, like you said, style, enthusiasm. In fact, it wasn't until the end
Starting point is 00:29:53 of the first round, but I had one, do you have a favorite pick of the draft? Not like for the team, but like favorite kid? Well, I liked a lot of the reactions. I thought Jackson Dar was pretty pumped. I like the moves the Giants made to get him. A lot of Giants fans wanted that guy. I like that. He was there with his family and how sentimental they all seemed and excited about it. And yeah, I think he's the future
Starting point is 00:30:14 of that team. I like that. I like that reaction. I mean, if you want to talk about things that made you go, hmm, wasn't it, wasn't it Joe Shane's son who last year said go with Jaden Daniels? He didn't. And then this year he said, Jackson, Dart, Dad. And what did we get? Jackson Dart, Dad. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:32 How cool is that? And I do think that, like I said, Giants fans were pumped about it. And I was pumped for friends of mine. I have a lot of Giants friends who wanted that to happen. So I was pumped for him and pumped for my friends. And when Ashton Genti went to the Raiders, I was super pumped for you, Danny, G. Because last year, you wanted Pennix Jr. and you got hosed. But this time you got what you wanted.
Starting point is 00:30:57 So, you know, I was pumped for you and I was pumped for him. You know what? When you hear the first syllable of someone's name and you know it's not, I was when the Jags and, well, they traded up. But when the Patriots did not go with Genti, when they're like, and their pick is. And I didn't hear Ash. I was like, Danny G's got to be fired up. Like we talked about on the show yesterday, I didn't think the Patriots were going to go running back,
Starting point is 00:31:20 but I did think when the Jag said we're going to make a splash, I thought that they were going to stand in the way at five. So once they traded up to two, Scott Shapiro was here in the main studio, and he looked at me and he's like, clear path now, and I was like, clear path. Dude, I thought of you, Danny, only because you and a lot of Raiders fans, I know, want a Gentie.
Starting point is 00:31:38 And I'm not one to make predictions like, well, this guy's going to, but with Pete Carroll running that team, and he is run heavy what he did with Marshawn Lynch. A lot of people pointed this out. And don't forget Chip Kelly. Now the OC, he loves to run the ball. And this could be like a perfect scenario for this kid.
Starting point is 00:31:54 Oh, it's perfect because Gino Smith, you know he could throw and he could run and you got this guy there too. And Gino's best, I think TV would back me up on this. I think Gino is better suited for play action. When he's got a good runner next to him, that's when he's most effective. Absolutely. Seahaw could ever get anybody healthy enough to. continue to stay on the field. Kenneth Walker is good for 12 games, but yeah, agreed.
Starting point is 00:32:18 Know who my favorite was. I don't want to skip too far ahead, but towards the end of the first round, when the Buffalo Bills pick Maxwell Hirston, this is the guy that was like loving and hugging and bro hugging everyone. His enthusiasm, not to sound like, I'm, you know, emo boy, I got a little emotion. My wife's like, you okay? I'm like, this kid, I'm so happy from, I don't know a thing about him,
Starting point is 00:32:39 but his enthusiasm was contagious. You have hugged every single prospect that has been called before you tonight. Now it is your moment. How does it feel to trade Kentucky Blue in for Buffalo Blue? Man, I can't believe it's going on right now. I'm so thankful. I'm so blessed, man. I'm so happy to hear my name because truly a dream come true.
Starting point is 00:33:00 I give all thanks to God. And your family, you love them so much. You are wearing them with your heart and soul tonight. Show us your jacket. They will meet everywhere I go. I love my family, man. My biggest support system. Congratulations.
Starting point is 00:33:14 And Western New York's going to love you. Let's get to work, Buffalo. Yeah, you got to love the reaction and the emotion. And, you know, it's for their family. It's the hard work they put in. And it's that little kid they once were and making that dream come true. And you heard that throughout the night.
Starting point is 00:33:31 And that's what makes you so fun. No doubt. Your observation, do you want to go to the phone? Yeah, let's do it. 87799 on Fox. 87799 on Fox. Any observation from last night our NFL draft
Starting point is 00:33:44 edition of things that made you go. Well, we are live from the Fox Sports Radio Studio and for over 40 years, tire rack has been helping customers find the right tires or how what and where they drive, ship fast and free, back by free road hazard protection and convenient installation options like mobile tire installation. Okay, so before we go to the phones, I do want to point out
Starting point is 00:34:02 a very viral moment that I'm sure you saw over and over again, so I'll get this out of the way. Offensive linemen from Texas, Kevin Banks Jr. Kelvin Banks. I'm sorry. No, Kevin, isn't it Kevin? Kelvin, Kelvin Banks. Kelvin Banks Jr. gets drafted by the Saints
Starting point is 00:34:20 and there's a little baby in the shot. So good. And immediately the little baby throws up and everyone's zooming in on it. It goes viral and that was definitely a big moment because you're like yeah, they're in the middle of all the fun that happens. People like, is it because it's the Saints or what happened? No, my wife was the first to point that up because, you know, I'm watching the bigger picture.
Starting point is 00:34:42 She's like, oh, cute baby. She has baby fever. And I'm like, nope, we're not having a third. So she's like, oh, look at the baby. And she's like, didn't you see that? I'm like, see what? You rewind. I didn't see it until, you know, it went viral on social media.
Starting point is 00:34:55 Baby probably just had a bottle. I'm not saying they shook the baby, but with the excitement. In the excitement. Yeah, with the excitement, just moving a baby like that around. It is fun. We've all had kids. That little spit out, the bleh. Yeah, it's not like the exorcist Linda Blair.
Starting point is 00:35:08 or project off vomiting. He was a little spit up. So hard to miss that one. But a really funny moment, Kavino, as you always talk about, those are the moments that the family will talk about forever. That kid's going to be grown up and the stories will be like, and then when your dad got drafted, you threw up. That's going to be the family story.
Starting point is 00:35:24 All right, let's go to Jeff and Marilyn. Jeff, you're on with C&R. Hey, Jeff. Hey, fellas. I think it's hilarious. You know, Goodell probably is not. You know, he's sort of a skinny, sort of a frail guy. I don't think he's too big.
Starting point is 00:35:38 The one observation I had was these big bear hugs that come out and just trap him. Like, he's almost like a rag doll where his head goes right into the, almost their belly. Like, I would break several vertebrae. Let me tell you, he gets picked up, tossed her out. And some of these intense, like, handshake into bro hugs, like, those are not gentle. Like, I guarantee at the end of the night, he's like, damn. Who is 27th? I think he gave him that long, long.
Starting point is 00:36:06 He picked him up. He gave him the old spine stretch. I don't know, Dan, if you, I don't let me get my charts out. Later in the draft, but in the first round, but he really held on to him for a long time. Malachi Stark was, dude. I think it was Starks, yeah. Is that who it was? Yep, and he was joyful about it, too.
Starting point is 00:36:22 Who else who we got? David. What's up? Dave, David. What's up, man? I got two things, man. You stole my thunder with a Bill's pick, but I'll send you this other one. When the guys were joking around on stage, Sabin wasn't laughing.
Starting point is 00:36:38 much too much at all, something like that. So that's one thing, observation I took. And the other one, I want to send out my love to the Pittsburgh-seatered pick. His mom died. All respects, God's taking care of her. Peace out, guys. Yeah. Is he talking Derek? Derek Harmon?
Starting point is 00:36:56 Yeah. Derek Carmen, you know, what's interesting about that pick, too, is it's clear they went defensive tackle. So they totally passed on a QB, which means they're leaving it open for Aaron Rogers. That's what makes you go, hmm, that's the biggest story there. It's like, really, they're really banking on Rogers. They must have a lot more confidence than we as fans do.
Starting point is 00:37:17 Well, that's how you know. And what he has left. That's how you know, can we know that Aaron Rogers is in the mix. And also that Chador is who's rubbing people the wrong way. Those are the moments. There were two times where I told my wife who was like half-ass paying attention. Like, babe, come here. I think it's going to happen.
Starting point is 00:37:33 And when the Saints passed him early, I'm like, all right, then he might go to 21, the Steelers. And then when the Steelers, you heard a different, again, it's like when the Academy Awards, when you hear the first syllable, the first name, and it wasn't should, you're like, oh, my God. Yeah. Congrats to Derek Harmon of Oregon. So you have to imagine that now that that's happened, we're going to get a Rogers update any minute. Not only a Rogers update.
Starting point is 00:37:57 I think there's still the big surprise tonight. Kavinov. Like, who will want Shador Sanders? Yeah. In fact, even President Trump has weighed in on Sanders. You want me to read it real quick? I would love for you to read it. What is wrong with NFL owners?
Starting point is 00:38:13 Are they stupid? Dion Sanders was a great college football player and was even greater in the NFL. He's also a very good coach, streetwise and smart. Therefore, Shador, his quarterback son, has phenomenal genes and is all set for greatness, Trump wrote in a truth social post. He should be picked immediately by a team that wants to win all capitals. Good luck, Shador, and say hello to your wonderful father. Well, like we said, fuel to the fire, as he said, fuel to the fire, legendary.
Starting point is 00:38:43 But he sort of got what he deserved last night, meaning some humility. It had to be really embarrassing for the kid to not go last night. And that was his biggest criticism, was that maybe he's a little too cocky. So maybe he's put some where he needs to be. Well, we got more observations, but it's time for Dan Byer in an update. DB as we get into night two of the draft. We got NBA playoffs. I'm sure a lot on your play today. What up, Dan?
Starting point is 00:39:07 Browns are on the clock at number 33 overall to start that second round. Texans and Titans will follow. It all gets resumes coming up at 7 o'clock Easter time, second and third rounds taking place tonight. Former Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was arrested on DUI charges earlier this morning in Minnesota following a team draft party. Peterson was allegedly going 83 and a 55 mile per hour zone. BreathLizer test came in at 0.14.
Starting point is 00:39:31 the league of limit in Minnesota is 0.08. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell says the NFL triple header on Christmas Day will likely be a permanent thing. Made the comments to the Pat McAfee show also said that the Thanksgiving Day games will alter kickoff time. So that Lions game that started at 1230 Eastern different than everything, likely will go to a 1 o'clock Eastern time kick like we're so used to on Sundays. But I did like the 1230 Eastern. I thought there was something funky about it. I did appreciate it. Woke up, turned the game right out on the West Coast, right?
Starting point is 00:40:04 Absolutely. Early starts of the day, but the more traditional window for Thanksgiving. Kids, turn off the parade. It's time for football. Exactly. Sorry, Macy's. Jason Hanson's about to kick off. The other note from the NFL is that Roger Goodell did tell the Pat McAvey show. They may look into shortening the time frame for first round picks.
Starting point is 00:40:27 It used to be 15. Now it's 10. He says maybe going down to seven. And if a team needed a little bit more time, they could give them a bonus couple of minutes. That was just something that he floated today. And usually when Roger Goodell says something, there's a reason why he says it. Celtics and Magic tonight in game three. Pacers and Bucs will play their game three as well.
Starting point is 00:40:46 Lakers and Timberwolves in Minneapolis at 930 Eastern. No John Morant for tomorrow's game four for the Grizzlies against the Thunder. OKC up 3O in that best of seven series. Cubs and Phillies are underway in Chicago after a rain to. A comes on top 2-0-0 right now as they play in the third inning. At the Zura Classic, Andrew Novak and Ben Griffin lead at 16 under par in second-round play of the team event. Live golf, Bubba Watson currently having the lead. You can see on Fox Sports 2 as they play in Mexico City.
Starting point is 00:41:15 He's at 6 under par. Bryson DeShambo, one shot back. Guys, back to you. Thanks, DB. To what Dan said about Roger Goodell, maybe shortening the draft times, it proves my point. And I said I DV hard the draft. and there's a lot of great information. You like watching them come out of the tunnel,
Starting point is 00:41:32 holding up the jersey, bro-hugging Good-Gadale, highlight reel, quick analysis, and then there's like four minutes of, all right, the picks in, and what are we doing? It is the ultimate DVR thing. So I think Goodell is... So you're replacing The Bachelor
Starting point is 00:41:47 because you always hate those one-on-one dates? Yeah, so you're replacing the Bachelor with the NFL draft to be the number one DVR thing to watch. DVR thing to watch. DVR? Ultimate show. All right, hey, we got more Cavino and Rich. More things that made you go home, and we're going to play our fun game. Is it Covino or Belichick?
Starting point is 00:42:04 That's coming up, some weekend hobnobin. And, of course, NBA playoffs and night two of the NFL draft all coming up. Starting point is 00:43:10 Huge news. We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts. We're starting a trend.
Starting point is 00:43:23 But this one's extra special. So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it. Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers. This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes. I have a very different memory of this.
Starting point is 00:43:46 We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas. And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys. Hell yeah, and I hope you had a great Thursday night, some great basketball and the draft. Fun night to just lamp and enjoy yourself. I do it my favorite meme of the night. And I'll let you know what that is in a second.
Starting point is 00:47:44 Is it Gadelby and ragdolled Arrow Smith stuff? Yes, that's why I played this song. I gotcha, Sam. I pick up on it. Iowa Sam on the ones and twos, Danny G. on the phone. Super producing at 87799 on Fox. But now it's time for the tire. at the day. The Jacks moved up.
Starting point is 00:48:00 The number two trade with the Browns to grab Heisman winner who said is capable of transforming their franchise, even though the sport of what? Are you having a hard time? No, it's just I'm not able to. Are you reading like Bradbury? You read it. Word for it.
Starting point is 00:48:15 You tell me. Go ahead. Lani Pafo. You read it. Go ahead. Time for our Tyrax player of the day. Take three. Well, first of all,
Starting point is 00:48:24 us to play of the day. But go ahead. So you already messed up. No, it says play of the day. No, yeah, and you said player. The Jags moved up to number two in a trade with the Browns to grab the Heisman winner, who they said is capable of transforming their franchise and even the sport of football. Oh, there he did.
Starting point is 00:48:40 There he goes. Take a listen. With the second pick in the 2025 NFL draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars to let Travis Hunter, wide receiver, defensiveville from Colorado. It's going to be fun to watch Hunter on both sides of the ball. That's our tire rack play of the day. And for over 40 years, Tyraq has been helping customers find the right tires for how,
Starting point is 00:49:08 what and where they drive, ship fast and free, back by free road hazard protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation. Tyraq.com the way tire buying should be. And I said I have my favorite meme. Because there are so many good ones. I feel like I don't know who makes all these memes. Because they don't get credit.
Starting point is 00:49:27 You just, You see one, you repost it. It's like the internet. You used to say, who uploads all these old school TV clips and themes? I still wonder who did that. Who is the kind soul that does that and gets nothing in return? No one. Well, no one gets credit.
Starting point is 00:49:42 My favorite meme is Shador Sanders' face, photoshopped over Will Smith on Fresh Prince, hugging Uncle Phil. How come they don't want me, man? That's the best one I've seen. Because it doesn't matter who your daddy is in the NFL. was talking about that. It's not the NBA. NFL is much different. You know, I respect what Trump said. I think it's kind of funny, right? What are you crazy? Not drafting Shador? But it doesn't
Starting point is 00:50:08 matter how great his dad was. Right. It sounded like he wanted teams to draft Dion. And it did, right? Yeah. Like his dad was so great. Well, you know what? Maybe his son rub people the wrong way. In the interviews, that's what we discussed yesterday on the show. We've seen the Trump kids. But by the way, other than Trump, there were a lot of people that were shocked. I feel like the most shocked person was if you did watch it on ESPN, that wasn't a vampire, it was Mel Kiper. And Mel Kiper, the whole time had him at number one,
Starting point is 00:50:38 my number one quarterback on the board. All right, I guess they picked Cam Ward. But then when Jackson Dart was chosen and traded up for, I think Mel Kiper blew a gasket inside. He's like stunned by this. And then he started saying, well, Brady was chosen late. Brock Purdy was chosen late. Then he started rattling off guys that were chosen late.
Starting point is 00:50:56 Mel Kiper doesn't get it. This is what he does year round, though. And so he builds up through the entire year up to this day. And then his pick, his analysis is completely blown up. So it makes him look kind of bad. Speaking of people that we were watching, aside from the players like Mel Kiper, can I just shout out Field De8s and his flow and his salad? I saw him in Scott Van Pelt talking about it.
Starting point is 00:51:18 But here's what stood out to me. Okay. So he has this full on flow going on. and you saw his mane, he's got like a Kenny Maine. He's got new hair, right? And Van Pelt's like, I didn't hear a word you said because I was just admiring the flow. And he said, thanks, SVP.
Starting point is 00:51:34 I've been letting it grow since December. And I'm thinking to myself, he's been growing that hair for five months. Like my hair would be down, I think, down to my shoulders. You would look like Clay Matthews. You would look like the Votto Matthews. If I didn't put my hair for five months, dude. It looked like Danny Trello.
Starting point is 00:51:50 I just can't believe how handsome he looked like. Like, he hasn't groomed it in five months? If I didn't come here in five months, it just would look, it would look bad. Why don't you do it? Let's see you with long hair. I was Sam. I was Sam. How would your hair look if you didn't cut it for five months?
Starting point is 00:52:02 I go six months between haircuts. You know what? I swear. You had a Bob Ross thing going on for a while. I know, I do. So, you know, the fact that he says he hadn't cut it since December, it did stick out to me because I'm like every two weeks. See, a lot of black guys and Latino guys that have more of the fade look, two weeks
