Hey guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
And guess what?
We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
But, you know, tired and sick.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you.
you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel
and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you
funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel, help an
a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some
retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and
friends on the ice.

I'm Michelle McPhee, and I've been unraveling the strangest criminal alliance I've ever
reported on, a Mormon polygamist and an Armenian businessman.
Multi-million dollar house, Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, a billion dollar fraud.
But how long can this alliance last?
Tell me what you know. Is somebody coming after me?

This morning, the internet lost its mind, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
That's where Sports Slice comes in.
I'm Timbo, and every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the biggest moments in sports and giving you the real story behind the headline.
And we're going straight to the source, the athletes themselves.

Monday action with Camino and Rich.
Hope you had a great weekend.
A Cam Ward, Timberwolves sort of weekend.
Timberwoobies.
Not a Shador Lakers sort of weekend.
I hope you had a Eugenio Suarez hitting four.
dongs sort of weekend.
That's a lot of dogs in a weekend.
That's a lot of dongs, man.
I hope you'd have more dongs than that.
Man, he had four in one game, 19th guy to do so.
Anyway, hope you had a great one.
Let's have a great week.
I'm Kavino.
That is Rich, live from L.A.

Their hats are where it's at.
Two turntables, a microphone, and those Travis Matthew hats.
That's where it's at.
Where it's at.
So again, it's great to be here.
we have lots to get to. We're going to play last one standing today. It's our favorite game,
the most heated, intense game that we play, your chance to win a C&R stainless steel swiggy, our water bottle.
So stick around for that. Plus, got to talk a lot of Shador. We'll talk some pranks.
We have lots to get to a hypothetical. No doubt. There's a really good hypothetical.
Stephen A. Smith is chirping about whipping your kid's ass. So we'll get to a lot today.
is there a culture change on one particular team in the NFL,
and I think there might be.
But I want to start out by telling you
that Shador Sanders
is much like a peach cobbler.
Oh, boy.
Before you get into that, let's build some suspense.
How in the world is Shador Sanders like a peach cobbler?
Rich is going to tell us.
Colin Calhurt, eat your heart out with this analogy.
You think you're the king of analogies?
Well, can we just first say that?
that as a host, how great is it when something like this happens?
Because you know you have content for weeks.
You're like, oh, my goodness.
But just as a fan, how are you not glued just to see what happens?
I mean, it became so drama-filled, such a drama show, as Triple G would say,
such drama show that the president got involved.
People screaming racism.
Everyone trying to figure out why, how did this happen?
What a crazy weekend it was revolving around Shador Sanders.
had never been so glued for so long to the NFL draft.
Best TV ratings ever for day three of a draft.
No doubt.
I mean, if it was more than eight people, I'd say the ratings were beat.
No doubt.
By day three, the fourth and fifth round, the simple fact that you were sitting around with
that on the background, casually listening when a potential team came on the board.
Picks in.
Honey, I think it might happen.
Get over here.
I want to say that I did feel for the Sanders family respectfully.
Like, I can only imagine what it was like.
behind closed doors, right?
The stress and the drama and just the shock of it all
because it seemed a little unfair.
Or is it?
We'll speculate.
They got money, fame, and talent
and a lot of things going in their favor.
Just as a spectator who loves drama,
I fully admit, as unfair as it may have been
or as stressful as it may have been for the family,
I took great joy in the drama of it all.
Just in the drama, like,
I can't believe this is going on.
As the meme went that you and Dan,
We were all sending over the weekend.
The Super Bowl doesn't prove that the NFL is king.
Having 250,000 people stand in a parking lot to hear 32 men's names called,
that proves that the NFL is king.
Yeah, that's wild when you really think about it.
In the cold, no less.
Just in the cold, there's no, like, event.
Yeah, and that's the smaller city that the NFL has held adrafted.
Yeah, there's no.
Is there a live band that I don't know about?
But there's nothing but people's names.
They did have a house band.
Did they have a house band?
But no one's going there to see the house band.
But really it's just to hear people's names called.
250,000 people out there with their earmuffs and frees freaky's on.
Crazy.
That's how big NFL is.
Unreal the interest level in something, like you said, it's just the calling of 32 men's names.
Fanatics.
Hundreds of thousands of people.
It's amazing.
NFL King.
So how is Shador?
Now that I've built the suspense.
How is Shinoa Sanders like a peach cobbler?
Before I tell you, let me set up a few things.
You see people talking about could there be collusion or racism?
Camino, you hit me with the fact right before the show.
Of the first round, of the 32 men chosen, how many were African-American?
30 were men of color.
29 were African-American.
So we're talking two white linemen.
Here it is.
The top three draft picks were black.
Six out of ten were black.
And again, 29 out of the first 32.
We're black players.
I made the comment on social media.
I did a little post at Covino-Ritch.
I think there's something we all, not all of us,
but the casual non-football fan that just love to jump in on the conversation
are forgetting a simple fact about any draft.
Teams go after what?
Their needs.
27 of the 32 teams.
Their needs, talent, potential, but yeah, their needs is primary, I'd say, yeah.
27, I'd say, of the 32 teams.
And this draft wasn't a quarterback heavy needed draft.
And arguably, as Dan Byer pointed out last week,
they rated all of last year's quarterbacks higher than the batch this year.
So 27 of the 32 teams arguably had no interest in a quarterback.
The Buffalo Bills, they got Josh Allen.
They're not picking a quarterback up next.
The Eagles, not picking a quarterback.
You can name 27-ish of the teams that have no interest in wasting a pick any time early on on a quarterback.
You're the Bengals.
You pick in a quarterback.
You just gave Joe Burrow that money.
You could say that about, again, I'd say 27 of the 32 teams, which means it leaves you, one, two, three, four, five teams.
Five teams.
And if you rubbed any of those teams the wrong way, now you're cut down to maybe two or three teams or maybe none at all.
I will say this before we get it going.
People were screaming racism.
A lot of people were screaming that over the weekend.
Because there was the sense of, well, why?
But maybe it's as simple as the interview process.
Maybe it's as simple as he did blow the interview process.
I don't know why.
And I don't think it was racism.
But I 100% believe something was held against them.
Well, listen, I just don't think it was the color of a skin.
I said this to you the other day.
I think there's nothing cooler than someone with confidence.
Remember the other day we talked about the difference between confidence and arrogance when it comes to dating?
Regular people at your job.
It doesn't need to be athletes.
And I said there's that thin line between confidence and arrogance.
There were two places that these young men hung out while they were waiting for the draft.
One, as you pointed out, backstage what looked like an Ashley furniture warehouse.
You know, all dressed up, ready to be called, walking down that sweet long hallway putting on their lids hat.
And the other option was at home with their friends and family.
Shador Sanders was the one guy that had a special party room with the word legend on the wall.
So that right there you could say is indicative of what this young man brings to the table.
And if you interpret that as arrogant instead of confident, then he's not your guy.
Well, you can interpret it as a me type of guy and less of a team type of guy.
We don't know that to be true.
Be legendary is the family mantra.
legendary is sort of his thing.
He goes by.
Look, I think he rubbed some people the wrong way.
I think people have a hard time believing that.
And that's why he went 144th in the pick.
It was wild to see no one here.
Let's get it straight.
We've said this over and over again.
Because when you talk racism and everything else,
got to be very clear.
Everybody here grew up idolizing his dad.
Huge fan of his dad.
I go as far back as his Yankee days.
I was a fan of his dad.
I'm a 49ers fan that Dion Sanders was the reason the 49ers got over the hump.
So nobody.
I'm a coach prime fan.
Nobody rooting against Chidor.
In fact, I hope he uses this as fuel to the fire.
And maybe this is life's way of giving him what he needed, which is humility, if that was the problem, if that was the issue.
And based on all the reports or a lot of reports that were seeing, coaches said he rubbed them the wrong way.
I find that much easier to believe than racism when 29 of the 32 were black.
Now, Danny, G., you said, you saw a pretty cool thought about the Raiders who were one of those five teams that could potentially have wanted a quarterback.
Yeah, and it's interesting because Dan Byer and I thought that Jalen Milro would be a good choice for the Raiders backup.
He winds up going to the Seahawks with the pick they got for Gino Smith.
So that was ironic.
But Charles Robinson, he tweeted this out.
He said, Tom Brady knows Dion well.
Brady mentored Chador, of course.
Brady is advising the Raiders on the QB spot.
And this was during the weekend.
They've passed Shador eight times so far with six picks and two trade downs.
There's zero chance Brady and the Raiders are wielding a Sanders grudge, zero.
And yet they're passing.
Something I do again, 100% believe something was held against them.
It could be the media circus that surrounds them.
it could be his dad.
I don't know.
It could be the interview process, which we alluded to already.
But what I started to realize, too, as the numbers went on and on and on, it became more
evident to me that something was going on and that other teams were probably backing off even
more because it became more and more of a spectacle and even more and more of a circus
on whoever picks them at that point.
Again, the draft in the NFL, a lot of these guys do end up being part of the team or
getting a fair shot.
So with that said, you have to keep in mind that people are going after their needs.
I saw the Buffalo Bills GM talking about how we went all defense because that's what they needed.
Teams go after their needs.
And this was a very lineman heavy draft because that was the need for the most part.
I think Shador Sanders is like Peach Cobbler.
Now before I tell you how, Dan Byer, did you have any thoughts while you were watching this go down?
Yeah, I mean, a lot of thoughts on it.
But the only thing that I was going to weigh in because you guys mentioned Dion and his role in your guy's lives,
I don't think that this is anything new in the NFL where at some point,
if the talent doesn't overtake the issues or the distractions,
you're not going to invest.
If Dion wasn't as great as he was, he wouldn't have gone fifth overall in the 1989 draft.
But the Atlanta Falcons felt it was worth it.
And sure seemed like it was.
And then going on to the Niners and the Cowboys,
Eli Manning the same thing.
Like in terms of if you're the Chargers at that point,
and he's telling you, don't draft me.
And you're like, well, nobody's going to tell me what I'm going to do.
Talent wins over.
They know that they can then trade Eli and get a bunch of different stuff.
It didn't match up with Shudor Sanders.
And I think that that story,
while it came in a different form or in a different package that we're used to,
has gone on in the NFL for decades.
no doubt. And what I love about this story is whether people are saying collusion, racism, this,
that whatever your angle is, or hey, he just wasn't needed or wanted by those teams. I think the
reality is he got drafted by one of the few teams where I think he will have a shot to start at some point next year.
So let's say he does get drafted in the third round by the Bengals or third round or fourth round by the Eagles.
He's never going to see the field. He actually ended up in a scenario. One of the few
where this young man could actually start next year and win the job.
That's the silver lining, but on the flip side of that argument,
144th pick, fifth round is a little more expendable.
But if you, if you, Kavino, get the opportunity.
Isn't that what the draft is all about?
Getting the opportunity to hit camp and peddle the medal, win this job.
And Shredor Sanders, if he has the talent that we all believe he does,
in a quarterback room with Joe Flacco and a couple other young dudes,
Shador Sanders should in his mind be like,
I'm going to win this job.
And turn this dilemma into the lemonade.
Yeah, and we're all excited to see it.
How is he like Peach Cobbler?
How in the world, Rich?
Tell us, tell us.
How is Shador Sanders like peach cobbler?
I always try to think of a dumb analogy.
And I know you guys get a kick out of my dumb analogy.
So here goes.
Let's say you're at a party.
And there's a dessert table.
Like, Spott, what did you call?
What do you call dessert table?
You used some fancy word before.
Oh, a Viennese table out of a way.
A Viennese. Look at this guy.
Ooh, with like fondue.
Yeah, like little treats, little pet fooders.
Let's say there's little creme brulees.
A little snacky snacks.
Let's say there's cheesecake.
Oh.
On a tower.
Oh, a chocolate.
What about a chocolate tower?
Don't mind if I fondue.
Now, there's a peach cobbler at this dessert table.
My goodness, you know what, Danny G.
You really want a piece of that peach cobbler.
But you know you have noticed?
no one's really touching the peach cobbler
not a peach guy
but you know what people are going after the cheesecake
and the creme brulee and all the little treats
all the cookies are going fast and as time goes by
you're like actually I like cobbler
you know what
maybe the browns like cobbler too but you know what
when you see that no one else is touching it
you're confident that
I could come I could sit down have a cup of coffee
have my cheesecake I could come back and I bet you
that peach cobbler
is still going to be there
and I think there came a point
and I'll give you the point that for me,
when the Raiders had back-to-back picks,
I believe 98 and 99.
Yeah, they went O-line with both picks.
And they went O-line, O-line.
And then the next day
when you're like, all right, here we go,
we're going to start the day two now.
Yeah, 108.
And the Steelers and the Saints
and everyone, no one's going.
I feel like Cleveland might have said,
ooh, I think we want them,
but you know what?
much like the peach cobbler,
I could come back later.
And it's still going to be there.
And it's still going to be there
because if everyone else had a chance
to already get a slice of that peach cobbler,
and they're not going for it.
If by the certain point,
you got a chance to look and say,
all right, I'm going to make a pick.
I pick again, because you know in the later rounds,
it's all mixed up,
so a team may have a pig
and then 15 picks later have another pick.
If you do the math and look in between,
all right, well, I know this,
they're not going to take,
Shador. So I'm going to fulfill my safety need or my O-line need. And when I get everything I need,
then I will pick up Shador Sanders. So what you're saying is Shador Sanders is like Peach Cobbler
because even the people that showed interest in Peach Cobbler made it clear they weren't
taking any because they were taking cookies. So you know, we'd come back later. It's going to be
there. It could wind up being a mistake though. What if you waited too long? You go to the,
what do you call it, spot of Viennese?
table and there's just crumbs left and then your auntie comes over to the table and starts
raving about how delicious that peach cobbler was.
That's the risk that teams took, but I think there were a few teams playing almost like
dessert table.
Rich is right.
NFL draft roulette essentially.
It was evident no one was taking.
You're playing the people that even were interested.
You're playing chicken.
I'm sure they weren't going to take them.
You're playing chicken at that point.
And I think eventually there were teams that were like, all right, we'll take him if he drops
to this.
They were playing a round of how far could this go chicken
because they're like, all right, well, guys, we still need secondary help.
Man, I love Shador.
No one else is picking him.
Get that great free safety from LSU,
and then we'll come back and get him later.
It got to the point where it was almost laughable that pass, pass, pass,
that you thought he'd still be there.
And I think Cleveland, we may look back in five years when Shador Sanders,
for all we know, he matures into a great NFL quarterback.
be awesome.
And we say, my goodness, did Cleveland play this draft right?
This peach cobbler's fantastic.
I can't believe everyone didn't eat it.
That's what we're going to say.
What did you do?
You ate creme brulee?
What a fool.
This peach cobbler is amazing.
My question is, you had some Jackson tart.
Oh, hey.
I get a little bit shot.
I don't leave now.
Very good.
And also the don't mind if I fondue.
Very good.
Oh, you like it?
I liked it.
Then why did the Browns load up?
up on Apple Stoodle, you know, with another quarterback.
Like, why did they do that?
Because I think, I think plentiful quarterbacks we learned with Michael Panix Jr.
last year, what happened?
Kirk Cousins, why would you pick a quarterback?
It's a fickle position, my friend.
Oh, and it might be as simple as this.
The Giants like dart.
Like, maybe it's as simple as darts a better fit for that team.
But why did Cleveland go with another quarterback?
That's a great question, Sam.
Now they have five.
And I think, Rich, to his point, that's the eye test.
For those of us who watched college football, we're like,
that Qubey's not as good as Shador.
So there's more to this.
That's why I said, Danny G.
I don't believe the color of his skin was the issue,
but I 100% do believe that something was an issue and held against them.
And I think, again, my guess, and I'm no, you know,
that's some blowhard on the radio that's like, Q's what's going to happen?
But I'll tell you my thoughts.
I think, I'm just a doofus on the radio.
I think next year.
Pause.
You're dofus in real life.
Not just on the radio.
No, thank you.
Yeah, let's just make it clear.
Very clear.
Yeah.
I think next year we're all going to be sitting around here in the fall.
Me, you, Spot, Danny J. Sam, Dan Byer.
And we're going to be talking about, Dan Byer's going to do an update and be like,
guys, this is just in.
Shador is going to be starting week three of the NFL.
Yeah.
He gets his chance.
Must watch.
I got to watch now.
I think that when you got five quarterbacks, they're going to break for camp.
We're going to see it sooner than later.
And I think it's a great story.
Just another reason.
I was chat with Kavito over the weekend saying like,
these stories with the NFL salivates over.
I'm curious to see on who does what in terms of what was the the Mary date, you know, whatever.
If Mary kills.
Yeah, yeah.
You got five quarterbacks.
Okay, Deshawn Watson's out of the picture.
I want to marry Joe Flack up now.
You're not carrying four.
I know.
So you're likely carrying three.
Are you really going to carry three rookies?
Are you going to trade Kenny Pickett now to another team after acquiring them if someone needs one?
they've got an interesting situation that will
He can go eat chicken cutlets with Tommy DeVito
because he's trying to figure out the same thing
like what's going on here? There were national articles this morning
trying to stir it up to Deby's point saying
Shador could be cut before the preseason's over.
Let's go over it.
So we have Joe Flacko
who I think would be a great mentor.
And a guy that would be okay taking the back seat.
Yeah, you bring him back after not wanting him back next year.
It's almost like a, hey, we messed up.
We'd like to, from what he did two years ago.
And veteran leadership won a Super Bowl.
It seems like a really good dude.
Yes.
And leader, Joe Flacco, you got Chidor.
That's it right there.
And then give me the other two.
Watson.
You got Gabriel.
Shador.
Kenny Pickett.
Kenny Pickett.
Joe Flacco, Deshawn Watson.
Man, that is something else, huh?
Is Deshaun, the ownership of Cleveland already said they swung in
missed on
Deshawn Watson.
So it would be shocking to see him
play against.
So cross him off.
As I said in Major League,
cross him off then.
Yeah.
You can just not clear him.
Yeah.
So Deshawn.
So I see,
you know how I think I'd man out is?
In the F.
Mary kill scenario.
Yeah, who's that?
Can he pick it?
Yes, he can.
Can he pick it?
Well, Gabriel could jump.
Yes, he can.
Gabriel could jump to camp and be like, ooh, not what we thought.
It's between those two then.
Cutting a third round pick out of training camp is almost unheard of.
So check out this dead cap hit for Deshaun Watson, $172.3 million.
Oh, man.
Have you ever heard of a dead money cap hit that size?
You know, crazier things have happened because, you know,
when Mel Kuyper's head was about to explode and he kept talking about like,
oh, the past, this guy was.
in this round, Drew Brees or in this round?
He made it uncomfortable.
You know, everyone handled it pretty well.
Like, hey, Chador was picked finally.
144th, we're rooting for him now.
Yeah, that was a little odd.
Someone, something rubbed someone the wrong way, but he ate.
We wish him the best.
Mel Kuyper was still really mad.
I don't know if you realize that.
And they're not going to cut Deshaun Watson.
They just won't clear him medically.
I think that that's ultimately just they're not going to clear him medically
and take him off of injured reserve, which could be a,
Deshawn's going to get his money anyway.
But still, even if he's out of the picture, like, not cut,
you still have four quarterbacks.
So what do you do with the four that you have now?
Because most teens only have three.
Do you just put Shador on practice squad?
Like, does that?
It's a tricky one.
Yeah.
But if he ends up on practice squad, again, let's be realistic.
This is a league of winning, right?
If he ends up on a practice squad,
it's probably because he deserved to be on the practice squad.
Not because anyone has something against him.
I don't believe that at this point.
He's on the team.
It's a winning league.
It's a winning league.
And a league, again, that drafted 29 of the first 32 were African-American.
And you don't think that if you're the Cleveland Browns organization for viewership and jerseys and fandom, you don't think if Shador had what it takes, they would.
If we're going to deal with this media circus, we might as well lean into it.
And, you know, although it was unfortunate to see because we thought it was going to happen sooner and we all waited to see when he would go.
The one thing I will admit was really wrong was the prank phone call.
I thought that was wrong.
And we're going to talk about that next.
Plus a hypothetical and last one standing.
We have an action-packed Kavino and Rich show.
All right.
Well, hey, if you're ready to win some real cash during the basketball playoffs,
something else that was going down this weekend.
I'm sorry about your Lakers, Danny.
Oof, not looking good for them, man.
If anyone could do it, it's LeBron and Luca, right?

Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers, and guess what?
We have some big news.
What's the news, name?
Huge news.
We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts.
We're starting a trend.
But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
And, oh, we were thinking, I'm, or,
originally calling it
one of the early names
of our band before Jonas Brothers
was... This is how you guys
remember it going down? Yes. I have a very
different memory of this. We were talking about
a thing, a bit for the podcast, people could call
in and say, hey Jonas, and then I
wrote down on my little notepad,
Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential
title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.

and I know firsthand because I competed there myself.
I'm Renee Stubbs, and on the Renee Stubbs Tennis podcast,
I'm breaking down everything happening at Roland Garris.
Every match, every upset, and what it really takes to win on clay.
Jenchian win.
I mean, she went down at three to Rabakina, but I'm delighted.
She's an outsider to win the French for me.
And she likes Clay.
Listen, Lena Rubakina is arguably the best player in the world right now
and I actually can win on any surface.
Because if she's serving, well, good luck.

Sports. I'm Kavino. That is Rich. Again, hope you had a great weekend.
Hope you have a great week. I'm so pumped for this week. We have a big fiesta
weekend coming up starting off this Friday. Big fights on Friday. We'll be talking about it
throughout the week. Garcia, Haney, Tiafimo, that whole card from New York is this Friday.
And I can't wait. Fighting in Times Square. I know.
Covino and I realize like, I wonder how much tickets are. I'm like, Madison Square Garden's
not showing up. It's not at the garden. It's in
Times Square. Outdoor ring canopy setup right there.
On a side note, right? I've been waiting for these fights for so long.
Three of the four kings in that 140, 1.45 weight class are fighting, right?
Yep.
My daughter hits me today. She's like, Dad, I need you to take me to something she's doing.
Friday from 6 to 9. I'm like, yeah, right. Picture that.
Dad's been waiting for this fight for months.
But Dad, it's the father-daughter dance.
Yeah, no, it's not. She just needs me to be her chauffeur.
that's the dad life of a teen.
It's like, yeah, ask someone else to do it.
I'll take you there and drop you off.
Is that like a safe Uber kids or something?
Yeah, but yeah, I don't know.
He has teen Uber or whatever.
So that's Rich Davis.
I'm Steve Kavino.
Danny G's on the phones at 87799 on Fox, Iowa, Samuel, on the ones and twos.
DB has your updates in just a few.
But let's get to the phone calls.
Rich explained how Shador is like Peach Cobbler.
He's the dessert that you may have wanted on the, on the,
What do you call it's about the Venetian of Vienna?
The Viennese of dessert at a wedding or party.
But if you want to peach cobbler and you realize,
man, no one else has touched it, you don't need to grab it right away.
It will be there.
It will be there later on.
And I made the point of I 100% do believe something was held against a kid.
I do.
I just don't know what.
I just don't know what it was.
But it's easier to believe that it was the interstate.
view process. It's harder for me
to believe racism is involved when you
look at the numbers and you look at the
league. When like 90% of the league
is African American? Like what do we talking? Yeah, but I'm not
saying that racism doesn't exist. I'm not saying
any of that. I'm just saying I don't believe that in this case
but I do believe 100%
that something was held against
them because it just
went on and on too long. But we'll take
your phone calls to wrap it up. We have lots to get to
today. We have a great hypothetical to get to
as well. What I thought was ironically
had spots. I was going to say, who started this
narrative.
Dude, I mean, so many people and big names were leaning into it.
Stephen A lead into it.
A lot of people leaned into that.
Yeah, we're not just making that up.
And again, maybe your algorithm didn't show you that side of the argument, but believe
me, it existed.
I'd say it was like a 60-40 sort of thing.
40% were screaming racism over the weekend.
And again, that's not to say that it doesn't exist.
Of course it does.
Yeah, no doubt.
So let's go to the phones, 87799 on Fox.
What I thought was interesting was one of the guys chosen before Shador Sanders.
that everyone's like, oh, interesting.
For the New Orleans States, they chose Shuck, right?
And he is what?
26 years old?
He's been around for a minute.
Yeah, he's in his like mid-Dillate 20s.
There's pictures of him as a kid floating around social media
where he played ball as a kid with Cody Bellinger
and he's like Brock Purdy's age and they grew up together.
So he's just one of those guys at injuries and redshirt years.
And it took it, you know, that took its toll.
And he's finally getting his chance.
Yeah, he's 25.
25 going to be 26 this year.
And interestingly enough, it was Lewis Riddick,
a black broadcaster who was his biggest cheerleader,
saying I would have taken him way before Shador.
So the race thing, I hate that argument when it's not,
when there's no signs of it to me.
Go to the phones. Your thoughts.
How is Shador like Peach Cobb, do you agree?
And we're giving away prizes.
So stick around. Who do we got?
That's Big Burt and Georgia.
What up, Big Bert.
Hey, Big Bert.
Hey, guys.
Thank you.
You guys are always great.
to always hearing you.
So here's the thing.
This is a win, win, win, win situation for everybody.
Yeah.
It's a win-win for Shador because this is the anti-Lebron James,
Brony James thing.
They can't say that there was any type of nepotism in it.
He only has to stay around for three years before he re-ups,
if he would have won the first round.
If anything, if anything.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, and plus, when are you going to get a fourth-round draft pick
that's going to already put jerseys out the door,
butts in the seat?
Without a doubt.
Without a doubt.
with a fourth rounder.
So everybody wins.
Plus, he didn't take any money from anybody else.
So everybody went in the first round
is going to get their money, get paid and play.
And based on what Chador Sanders says,
he doesn't need money.
Guys holding up his Rolexes, driving fancy cars.
Money's not the issue for this young man.
He is not the guy that needs to, you know, get the money now.
Let's go to Andre in Mississippi.
What's up, Andre?
Yes, sir.
What up?
Hey, you know Delac.
I know. NFL hard knocks.
It's going to be the Cleveland Browns.
It could be.
Oh, that would be drama show to the max.
Oh, that is, is that a strong possibility?
I say if they haven't had a team in mind already, yes.
With those five quarterbacks?
But like Rich said before, the silver lining here, and it does work out for everybody,
is that he gets to start or he has the solid chance to start now.
They could do a new season of quarterback on Netflix with just the Cleveland Brown.
Just Cleveland.
That's true.
You know, what's interesting, you forget,
it was only a couple of years ago
that my 49ers chose
simply based on athleticism
and pure,
what looked to be a skill set,
Trey Lance with the third pick.
And at the very end,
the joke was Mr. Irrelevant.
Do you mean the guy that's about to get paid
$50 plus million a year,
Brock Purdy?
So,
quarterbacks are found in all rounds of the draft.
How often do first rounders
flop often. I think fifth round, though, the
stat was they don't really
usually translate.
There was some stat to back that
back up the fact that it rarely happens.
Sometimes the sun will shine
on your ass. Is that the phrase?
Yeah, sure, man. Roll with it.
Because Brock Purdy. Look at what it took
Brock Purdy to start in the
NFL. It took a few things.
It took Trey Lance to
stink and get hurt. Garoppolo.
It took Garoppolo to sort of get back in there
and then for him to get hurt. And
you and I were at that game in San Francisco when they were playing the dolphins.
And when he got in that game, everyone, including me, a Niners fan was like,
who's the guy behind Brock Purdy?
Where was he?
What was it?
Well, the Mr. Irrelevant guy?
It took Lance stinking and getting hurt and Garoppolo then to also get hurt for Brock Purdy
to get his chance.
And now he's about to make, like I said, $50 plus million a year.
The side story I do want to acknowledge to, though, before we get this.
the rest of the phone calls and Dan Byers.
The fact that in 2018, it did resurface.
Dion Sanders tweeted out that he'd never want to go to the Browns
or allow his son to go to the Browns.
He'd pull on Eli Manning and bounce.
So that didn't really age well.
But let's take an update and then get back to your phone calls.
DB.
What's up, man?
Hey, Dan Byer.
Hey, Rich is Matt's leading those nationals right now.
Three-nothing in the sixth inning.
It's day baseball.
Sorry, Kavino. It's just the way it is. Mets up 3-0, but not the only news out of D.C. today, guys, the Washington commanders finalized their deal with the District of Columbia to build a new stadium on the site of their old stadium. RFK Stadium, the new facility, which the commanders will put $2.7 billion towards, could open as soon as 2030. It'll feature our glass roof, which would allow the facility to host Super Bowls and Final Fours.
Wow. About $1.15 billion in public funds also going towards the stadium.
along with the $2.7 billion put forth by the commanders,
but the commanders getting a new home.
That's a big deal.
To be in the Super Bowl city mix?
Yes.
That's a big deal.
At least to get one, the final four, again, is another.
You can have a lot more flexibility when you have that roof on a facility,
but sometimes it's not practical and other times just cost too much.
Yeah, it's a great town.
Yes, it is.
Traffic like no other.
Well, yes.
But it is a great town.
Other news speaking in Cleveland, Cleveland.com saying the Browns are not likely to pick up the 50-year option on quarterback Kenny Pickett's contract.
The big news of the day was in the NBA.
Damian Lillard of the Bucks suffered a torn left Achilles tendon.
And last night's game four loss to the Pacers out for the rest of the postseason.
Next year could be in jeopardy as well because of the severity of the injury.
Jimmy Butler's officially listed as questionable tonight for the Warriors as they face the Rockins at 10 Eastern.
ESPN says that Butler is going to play tonight despite that hip contusion.
Warriors are up to one.
The first game of the night is game four in Miami.
He'd home to the Cavaliers as the Cavs try to sweep this series.
Tip off at 730 Eastern Time.
And a note from hockey, Pittsburgh Penguins fired head coach Mike Sullivan today after 10 seasons.
He had led them to two Stanley Cup titles.
Guys, back to you.
Thank you, Dan.
Thanks, Dan.
Jinks.
All right, hey, we got more phone calls and feedback about Chador.
And then we are going to get to the dumbest hypothetical that went viral over the weekend on social media.
Do you remember we had that conversation of,
How many Stephen A's would it take to beat up LeBron James?
Remember that?
Hell of a topic we did on the show.
There's a new one that was all over social media over the weekend.
And it's not the I'm Hungry Challenge.
It's something else.
I'm so hungry right now.
I could eat Jay Moore.
Why would you say that?
Because I'm so hungry right now.
You know that?
But he used to work.
He used to work in the studio.
Why would you say that?
He's the Lakers owner now.
Yeah, I'm so hungry I could eat him.
What?
Yeah.
It's a weird, weird,
trending thing.
So you're supposed to bring up
someone from the past.
Yeah, we'll get to that,
your phone calls,
and of course,
dumb hypotheticals.
We'll give away some prizes
all next right here
on Fox Sports Radio.

Right now we're live from the Fox Sports Radio Studio, and it's time for our Tyraq play of the day.
For the second straight playoff game, Carl Anthony Towns has looked like a superstar.
Baseline drive with seven to shoot.
Towns up top.
Pump fix.
Side step.
Right wing three.
Got it for the lead.
Carl Anthony Towns.
Oh, what a shot.
It's 94, 93, New York with 46 seconds to go.
And J.B. Bickers staff calls timeout.
These self-proclaimed, and I think the numbers might back it up.
greatest big man shooter ever.
When I saw him take that shot, I'm like, no, yes!
What a shot.
That's courtesy of the Nix Radio Network.

Danny G, Sam, Spott, D.Bs here.
Thank you, Fox Sports Radio Nation, for hanging with us.
We're giving away prizes next hour,
but let's take these three phone calls
and then we'll give our hypothetical.
Let's wrap on Shador Sanders.
Any final thoughts?
Listen, he's going to get a chance to play.
That's all he could possibly want.
The positive is that he is going to get a chance
on one of the few teams that I think
the quarterback position is up in the air.
20, as I said before, 27, I'd say, have the 32 teams.
You know who the quarterback is, week one.
The Browns are one of the five where it's a wide open, you know,
this is a great scenario for him.
There's a viral clip that's sort of surfacing now of him and his dad,
him and Dion talking about the quarterback situation in Cleveland.
And he's like, yeah, Joe Flacco's there.
And Dionne Sanders, like, he's my age.
Which implies to me that, yeah, he's going to be a great backup to should
I think that he's going to be a great mentor to Shador.
I think it's a perfect fit.
I really do.
Again, trying to be positive.
People keep saying like, well, what if you went earlier to who?
What if the Bears drafted him?
They got Caleb Williams.
What if the Rams drafted him?
They just signed Matthew Stafford for a couple more years.
So I think this is a great spot for Shador.
What do you say?
Matt, Georgia.
You're on with Kaviton Rich.
First of all, I'm from Georgia.
We know Pete Cobbler around here.
There's some ladies that can take $100 worth of stuff.
and make stuff you don't want to eat.
And your grandma put about $9 in some stuff
that you want to take home with you.
Nice.
So what I'm trying to say is he gets his chance.
Two things real quick.
First, he don't need to be telling the NFL
if you don't want to change your identity,
you know, all that talk.
But the racism part needs to go away, y'all.
I mean, the league's 80% black.
Half the coaches are black.
Can we get past that?
here's the thing too, though. You know, there are
a lot of cases where that would apply.
And when you just throw it out there
all the time it waters those significant
stories down a little
bit. Like, this is not one of them.
It's his attitude. It's the interview process.
It's much easier to believe it was something
other than that. Yeah.
Richard and Rightwood. What's up, man?
Elephant in the room here that nobody's
paying attention to. I've
never seen anybody so
arrogant and so pompous
and his father cultivated.
that in him. His dad
should be ashamed of himself for doing that.
I mean, I don't know about ashamed.
Again, confidence
and arrogance. Thin line,
I think maybe he's a young man, still
trying to find that balance. Let's keep this in mind.
Arrogance, cockiness, confidence,
whatever you want to call it. None of those
are illegal, right?
He's not a bad kid. He never did anything wrong.
You might not like his attitude. That's why
it's really easy to believe he just was
a little much or rub people the wrong way in the interview process.
It would be like a young editor coming in here at Fox Sports Radio and tell him Big Mike who runs this place.
Who?
Mike.
Here's my hours.
Here's how it's going to be.
And just so you know you're lucky to have me here.
Well, you better back it up then.
Yeah, exactly.
Well, obviously, Mike doesn't run anything around here.
But that's beside the point.
I agree with the caller in the fact of that Dion does bear a lot of the responsibility because who's going to tell Shadur no?
who's going to tell anybody in that inner circle
in that inner circle is going to tell Dion no.
No one's there.
Dion's the only one that can do it.
So while it may not be ultimately him and be a disgrace,
I don't mind the marketing and everything you do with Colorado.
There is a responsibility on Dion's shoulders that I think he needs to bear.
Agreed.
Sean and Mississippi, rapid fire.
Wrap it up.
What's up, man?
I got to say, the NFL has made more multimillionaire African-Americans
than any other sports statistically, if you look it up.
And another thing I got to say,
one can throw a needle, Cam Ward.
If he wouldn't have transferred, he was still the first round a year before.
He wasn't transferred.
Sanders can't, he's a checkdown passer.
There's a big difference, and one has an attitude with flashiness and one don't.
There's a funny clip of them working out together.
One comes with a circus.
There's a funny clip of them working out together.
And Cam Ward's like, I'd have a 90% percentage completion.
I threw a little dump-off passes every time.
So, hey, listen, I think it'll make for an exciting season.
I wish Ador Sanders' luck.
I think we all do.
We'll see what happens, right?
More.
Kavino and Rich next.
Hey, guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers.
I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
And guess what?
We created our own podcast called,
Hey, Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
but, you know, tired and sick, tired and sick.

And every episode, we're cutting through the noise,
