Sprout and the Houston Texan. they get another weapon for a descending young star quarterback in the a fc yesterday was one of the more uh that was as much fun as you can have doing live tv it was just pinball wizards up here flying around stuff banging on the walls all new players all new destinations a few teams got better i think absolutely i love the chaos i was

going to open the show saying you're dead to me uh which is just a hilarious uh exchange there between new york giants yeah tiki barbers you're great New York Giant that played his entire career with the New York Giants, had a wonderful career. So yesterday, Sequin Barkley, who had also spent his entire career with the New York Giants at the same position, both great all-time players. But Tiki now is a radio guy on WFAN, and when the word got out, he was now going to the rival Philadelphia Eagles, of course, hated in New York by the giant fans. Here was Tiki Barber's reaction. And Seiquan has already taken to Twitter himself

to say thank you to everyone who's shown me love and support over the past six years, forever grateful, excited for the next chapter. Blue Heart emoji, piece on. Okay, blue heart emoji. I'm looking at a pick. He's dead to us now. He's dead to us. He's dead to us, Sequin.

They said it with a smile. But if you're Sequin, Barclay, two reasons you had to go. Number one, running backs don't make what they did in the 80s, 90s, early 2000s. And number two, Philadelphia. is a significantly better place to land. First of all, they have a better quarterback, and that quarterback runs a lot. Jalen Hertz, that helps a running back.

More deception. Better offensive line helps a running back. Two legitimate star receivers, meaning safeties can't crowd the box like they can in New York because they don't have one great receiver, and they always have tremendous tight end play in Philadelphia. How do you not go? It's very possible that Saquan Barkley will have significant,

significantly fewer touches and more production in New York. Oh, yeah, it's a better organization and they win and get to Super Bowls. Plus, the Giants are to blame. A couple years ago, we said franchise Daniel Jones, you probably have to pay Seyquan Barclay. Daniel Jones, nobody in that locker room thought the heart and the soul of the team was Daniel Jones. Everybody knew it was Saquan Barclay. And the Giants said, we're going to pay Daniel Jones. And now they're stuck.

next to Carolina, it is the weakest offense in the NFL. Sequin Barclay did not owe the New York Giants anything. I think loyalty has limitations here. I mean, let's be honest. He's the fourth all-time leading running back, and that's with injuries and behind mostly awful offensive lines. Losing culture, bad quarterbacks, where you could crowd the box, and he's still fourth all-time.

And think about this. In the last six years, he spent six years in New York. he has over 7,000 total yards, again, with bad old lines, egregiously bad old lines, no star receivers, really, and 47 touchdowns. Second to the giant is a receiver, Daria Slayton, half the yards, and about 35% of the touchdowns, 19. That's the second most productive player for the New York Giants. What do you want them to do? Direct your anger at ownership, the front-on.

office, climate change, gas prices, inflation, Joe Biden, wherever. You can't blame Seyquan Barkley. But more than anything, this is ultimately the truth. Where do I say you go to the truth? You go to Vegas. Don't go to the media. They have agendas. They have favorites.

Don't go to fans. They're emotional. Go to Vegas. You know what Vegas thinks? The Eagles' Super Bowl odds improved. signing a running back. For the record, the Steelers didn't signing Russell Wilson.

So Sequin Barclay was considered more helpful getting to a Super Bowl for Philadelphia. Now, they're a lot closer than it was for the Steelers with Russell Wilson. I mean, if that doesn't tell you the value, Giants didn't appreciate him, but the superior franchise did. Draft King's Sportsbook did.

The people who are paid to get it right did. The Giants didn't. Whose fault is that? Blame anybody you want. Don't blame Sequod. He had to go. It's a way better spot. He'll touch it less potentially and gain more.

Less pounding on his body. That's what running back should do. Go to the place where you can be productive and you don't have to be Derek Henry. Because most people aren't Derek Henry. They're not that big and can't take that pounding. All right. cousins, end of our show, goes to Atlanta. Not a big surprise. It's so

funny. Now everybody today, whew! Talk about a ceiling. Do you know the number one selling ice cream in America? It's not cookie dough. It's not bubble gum.

It's not Rocky Road. It's vanilla. For the umpteenth straight year. You could have it with pie, espresso, solo. in a cup, in a Sunday. It works. I know, but if you order it,

if you ever go out with anybody, three or four people, you get vanilla. Everybody turns to you and goes, so boring vanilla. Yesterday I had a vanilla latte, not a cookie dough latte, not a brownie madness latte. I'd a vanilla latte.

It was fantastic. You know, Kirk Cousins is like, you go to Europe, but on the fourth or fifth day, you just order McDonald's because it's familiar. It tastes great. The bottom line is, you know my point. You know what you're getting with Kirk Cousins.

A committed adult, low turnovers, high accuracy, doesn't miss many starts, teammates like him, so to coaches, virtually eagoless. And he's much more productive than everybody thinks. Did you know since he has signed with the Vikings? I think you'll be surprised by this. 2018, since he's signed with the Vikings. J. Mack, third in passing touchdowns, again, with a couple of shaky O lines. And at one point, Mike Zimmer, defensive coach, third in passing touchdowns, and tied for third and passer ratings. And you all want to Justin Fields?

We're not sure he can play the position. Yes, he's boring. But you know what you get, and it's much better than you think. And it works well with tight ends, running backs, decent. and all lines and wide receivers. Everybody thinks they can do a whole lot better than Kirk Cousins. And yet the Chicago Bears, with a history over a hundred years, have never once had a quarterback as good as Kirk Cousins.

Look it up. No, they haven't. Bears, not once. The NFL is the only business in America that always, every year, has a labor shortage. There's about seven to eight teams every year that need a highly functioning quarterback. And that's exactly why Kirk Cousins keeps getting paid. Because he's probably like a Dack Prescott in that 11th, 12th, 13th best quarterback in the league.

Dax's making a lot of money. Kirk Cousins making a lot of money. They're monetizing their position. And they're both about statistically the exact same player. Kirk's more accurate, Dax's more mobile. And Dax's got the star on the side of the helmet. You can say it's boring, you can say he's vanilla,

you always get laughed at when you choose it when you go out with friends for ice cream. But consider this. The Washington commanders, since Kirk Cousins left, have the 27th best win percentage in the NFL. Well, it's not Kirk. And the Vikings have made the playoffs several times. And Kirk Cousins against Aaron Rogers.

And what we view is the superior organization and the superior quarterback. Every two times they played, Kirk beat Aaron once. Call it boring. I call it productive, dependable, committed, and adult. Yeah, he's not carrying a job. trophy home. Very few people not named Patrick Mahomes are carrying a trophy home. Lamar can't win back-to-back playoff games, and we love him.

Josh Allen can't get to a Super Bowl. Kirk Cousins wins. He's efficient, productive. If you love DAC, you can't tell me Kirk Cousins can't play. Their statistics are identical. I don't love either. I like both. They're grownups.

Good at the podium. win games. And Minnesota said, hey, we like you too. We don't like you 45 large a year. I mean, Dad's going to make 55 large a year. But for Atlanta and this team and these kids in that division, he's got tremendous, tremendous value. Again, you can't love DAC and think Kirk can't play.

Kind of the same quarterback. The difference is, Atlanta's not the Cowboys or Minnesota. They're not a consistently winning franchise. Meaning to get there in this sport that has a perpetual labor shortage at quarterback, Kirk has value. All right. Man, there's a lot of stuff.

Now, your guy, your guy, you know, I don't even want to, it's Colin right, calling wrongs, not till next Monday. There does not appear to be much of a market for Justin Field. So the Raiders went and got Gardner Minchew to your deal. Raiders are telling you is they're bringing a veteran in for two years, pretty cheap price, and they're going to draft a quarterback, and Minshu can be sort of the mentor and be the starter for two years at a very reasonable number. That's what the Vikings are doing with Sam Darnold.

We're going to bring Sam in for a year, draft a quarterback, and then for a year, I don't think it's a bad idea by the Raiders or the Vikings. We're not asking you to come in and start. Guys that can win some football games, create some inertia, some momentum, get some wins, and you can be an understudy for a year? I'm not certain the Raiders are drafting a quarterback this year. I think it's going to be Minchu and Naden O'Connell. And then next year, when they're probably drafting in the top five, they get a quarterback.

Let me go back to Kirk Cousins. You said if you like DAC, you should like Kirk Cousins. Now it comes down to the number for both. Dack's going to cost you 55. Well, a couple numbers. Number one is Dack turns 31 this summer. Kirk turns 36 this summer. Kirk's never been mobile.

Dack was, is less mobile now. Kirk's coming off an Achilles. Yeah. And he's getting 45, in the neighborhood of 45-known. For a losing franchise that's trying to stabilize a bunch of kids on offense, coming off a horrible quarterback season. And you've got to pay nobody, like you said, the skill position guys are all. I get it.

Dallas has to pay C.D. Lamb. Micah Parsons, they don't have a running back, a star running back. We don't know if we like their coach. Their coach is on a short runway. And so Dallas is going to pay Dak close to 60, 55. at 45 million for a couple of years. These deals don't all end up being like they read. They end up being significantly shorter, less money.

But in the end, again, I don't love Kirk Cousins, but he is number three in passing touchdowns, tied for third and passerating. And unlike Dak, has not had good offensive lines for a big part of it battled with his head coach, a defensive coach, Mike Zimmer. He wins a lot of games. A pretty smart guy who had come on my podcast has compared this Falcons team to last year's Texans.

Defensive head coach, Rahim Morris and Domingo Ryans. Offensive coordinator from the McVeigh-Shannahan tree. Both offensive coordinators, Sloick and Zach Robinson, worked at Pro Football Focus, very analytically geared. And now it's like, okay, we got our quarterback, we're going to get it. We got our tight end, receivers. What are they going to do in the draft? Probably go defense, just like the Texans. Well, Will Anderson, maybe.

Falcons look at Dallas Turner from Alabama, and they're building in the mold of the Texans who were in a bad division last year, and they win it. Falcons, in a weak division in the NFC, I think they're going to be the favorites in that division. Yeah, they are. I think they should be, Baker and the Buck second. But the other thing to think about here is division matters. Brady looked over the entire league and chose the NFC South.

I don't think Kirk Cousins. I think he would have stayed in Minnesota for 36 million. That's what they wanted to give him or 37. but that division's weak in 45. I'm going to take the money. I got about three to four years to play. Kirk Cousins value in a very weak division is substantial. Kirk Cousins in the AFC West is not as valuable.

Baker and Kirk in that division are both valuable. So why didn't Russell Wilson see that exact point and say, I don't want any part of Pittsburgh? I would rather go to Minnesota. Maybe Minnesota didn't want him. I don't think Minnesota wanted him, and I don't think Atlanta wanted it. him. Again, I'm not here. I just think Russ picked a really tough division to succeed in. Well, but he also picked, if you believe in yourself, he picked a team in Pittsburgh that has a lot of talent.

Can't get it right, but has a lot of offensive talent. That's fair. All right. We've got a lot of stuff coming up here. Also, the Packers that are reluctant to make moves, all sorts of stuff yesterday. And I like what they did. The most watched television show by a substantial margin in America is the National Football League, and it's not particularly close. Among sports, dramas, sitcoms, it's not particularly close. We can all watch football, and though it's complex in many

areas. You and I know generally that quarterback's great. We can watch Joe Burrow or, you know, we can watch Mahomes and, oh, Josh Allen and you can watch guys that aren't very good. We don't need to call them out. And yet, usually like people inside the league and outside the league, you can kind of tell who can play, who's a backup, who's good. And then there's Justin Fields. So there's a huge gap between what a lot of fans think on Justin Fields, who can be spectacular in moments. I call him a YouTube quarterback. You can put together a clip. He and Sam Darnold to me are always similar. You could put together a clip for four minutes and go, wow, but they don't stand in the pocket and accurately deliver the ball on a consistent basis

enough to be viewed as a franchise winning quarterback. So yesterday, Darnold signed a one-year deal. Gardner Minshue got hired. Jacoby Brissette got a deal, and Justin Fields, crickets. How the league views him and how fans view more than any quarterback in this league. Fans see a star. Coaches and GM see a guy that doesn't see the field particularly well and doesn't distribute the ball accurately enough and has hurt a lot

and turns it over and gets worse as the game goes on. All of it true. If you look, you got to win in the pocket in this league. All the spectacular stuff got to win in the pocket. Justin Fields' career from the pocket, 27

touchdowns and 25 picks. And then low 80s. passer rating. Now, Kyler Murray runs around, much smaller. 72 touchdowns, 40 picks and a 95 passer rating. Lamar Jackson, who we see improvement it feels like about

every 15-18 games, he runs around a lot. A hundred touchdowns from the pocket, 38 picks and a passer rating of 100. And again, with Kyler Murray and Lamar Jackson, I do feel like I've watched improvement. Doesn't mean you're winning playoff games, but

they're getting better. Just fields, I feel like this is what he is. Maybe if he had an offensive coach, he would tick up a bit, but this is kind of what he is. So the Raiders could have had him, taking Minchu. Bucks could have had him, took Baker. Atlanta could have had him took Cousins. Steelers could have had him

took Russ. Now, Seattle's still a possibility, but it does appear at this time. Seattle, which has a pretty well-stocked roster, may just stay with Gino for one more year. He's got no guaranteed money after that. And then draft a quarterback in the first round this year. He'll be the understudy for one year with a new coach for Gino, then it'll be that young man's job.

New England brings in Jacoby Brissette. Starter back. Yeah, New England brings in Jacoby Brissette. So my takeaway on that is, well, is he a starter? Is he a backup? They're going to probably do the same thing as like a Seattle, which is draft a quarterback and put him behind a Jacoby Brisset. So now I do think Fields deserves another shot.

I think Seattle's very interesting. I think New England's interesting. But there is a gap here between what the league sees, what the league sees, and what fans see, I do not see a star. What I see is a kid like Sam Darnold, who deserves a second shot because he's so athletic. And what's interesting is, if you look at Sam Darnold's career in the pocket and Justin Field's career as pocket passers, they're virtually identical. They're both a little reckless.

they both get banged up a lot they've both got talent you can put an interesting YouTube package together but in the league Donald's only getting a one year deal here I mean it's pretty clear Minnesota said we'll let you start for a year we're drafted a quarterback oh by the way if he's good you're out by

Thanksgiving so I mean I'm interested on Justin Fields JMA does not like this topic but I think the league is telling you one thing and the fans see it differently and I think fans all of us most kind of see the same stuff,

he is sort of the outlier in the league at quarterback. So you got to give up a draft pick to get him, right? And then he's like, what, 14, 15 mil for this year? Russell Wilson, who we did not expect to hit the market three months ago

for $1 million. Like, that's a great deal. You can't pass that up, right? Also, Russell's been to two Super Bowls. He has. I mean, that was in the distant past. It was like a decade ago, wasn't it? It's more the price point. Like, where am I buying in on Justin Fields? I got give up a third round pick and we got to pay him 14 mil this year or whatever the number is. That's a lot of money and a draft pick.

I'm not doing that if I can get Russ for a mill. It's not a lot of money if you think he can win. Giving up a draft pick to get a franchise quarterback. You don't know if he can win. Well, that's the point is GMs don't know with three years of film. Coaches don't know with three years of film. I'll say it again. I think he's very much Sam Darnold.

He may get it. He may get it. his cap hit right now for Justin Fields is 6 million. That's not bad. That's free. And nobody's interested. So you get this all the time in sports. Like, you know, where fans mostly have a sense of who's great, who's bad.

We can argue in the middle. I think fans have tended to be harder on Kirk Cousins, more favorable to Dack. And I think they're pretty similar based on, you know, I'm based on what do you pay them? If the cheaper, I get a deal for those two, I'll take the cheaper deal. Kirk Cousins will be cheaper than Dack. I'd rather have that. I think they're the same quarterback. But in this instance,

Justin Fields is free. Six million dollar cap hit. And the market's telling you, you know, somebody told me this years ago when I was doing like local news. They said if you get let go or released or fired

or whatever in local news, the market will dictate whether your boss was right or not. Indeed. The market will dictate it. And so the market is dictating right now. There's not a hunger. Okay.

So does that change? if Chicago says there's no buyers for Fields, we're outright cutting him, then all of a sudden is Justin Fields attractive. I don't have to give up any draft capital, and I can just grab him. I think at that point he becomes extremely valuable, and if I'm Seattle, I'm taking Fields over Gino Smith in a heartbeat. So Minnesota took Darnold at $10 million for a year. Justin Fields was $6 million.

Well, also you've got to give up draft capital to get him, remember. How much? Adam Schaefter said a first round pick two months ago. Remember, he said that. Now, obviously, nobody believed that. Nobody is doing that. Mac Jones got a sixth. Trey Lance got a fourth.

Yeah, so I'm just saying, on the six million in a six-round pick for a guy you think can win in this league, that is free. That is free. So, yeah. So, I think it comes down to there's just this just people, it's so easy. It's not like the NBA. In the NBA, there are players, Westbrook, it's not necessarily a winning player in May and June. James Hardin is not a winning player in May and June. But they're going to be Hall of Famers, because the NBA is about aesthetics and optics, and style matters.

It matters in the NBA. Do you score? Do you have style? I never thought Mello was a great teammate or a winning player, but he's an absolute. In the NFL, you're a quarterback. Do you win games? Are you productive? Are you healthy?

So where's Fields next year? Come on, let's hear our best guess. I'm looking at the NFL standings right now. I could see, again, what New England's doing, it appears to me, we're going to get a veteran who we like, and they've been in the building, Jacoby Brissette. We're going to draft a quarterback, and Brissette's going to be an Alex Smith-Mahom's.

A bridge. A bridge. I think that, you and I disagree. I think that's what Minchu is to the Raiders. You're going to be a bridge to the new guy. I think that's what Minnesota's doing with Darnold. You're a bridge. Vikings taking a quarterback.

So I think they're all bridges. Justin Fields doesn't want to be a bridge. His agent could say, we're not going to be a bridge. And my takeaway, he's viewed in the league as a bridge. Justin Field is his agent. They're like, we should be starters. But maybe he's not even viewed as a bridge, Colin. If he was viewed at a bridge, wouldn't you take him?

I don't even think they'd see him as that. That's the scary part. I, I mean, New England's got the second, third pick. So they're taking a quarterback, and they believe in the room, Brissette is better to kind of put your arms around. Okay. Does Sean Payton consider him as a reclamation project? No. Sean Payton considered Sam Darnold, according to respected NFL reporters. So Sean Peyton, who knows quarterbacks, they consider Darnold, Shanahan like Darnold, Kevin O'Connell's smart offensive coach like Darnold.

All three of them, all three, Shanahan, Peyton, Kevin O'Connell. Nobody would dispute sharp offensive guys. All preferred Donald. Okay, so where is Fields going? Tennessee Titans? Like, they got a full quarterback room and nobody's good in that one.

So I guess my point is, I never bought into it. People get fooled by the spectacular. That is not how you win. But he's going to be a backup on a team. he's got he's not going to be out of the league he's not going to be a free agent come on he's going to be on a roster week one i need a name coward come on let me hear a

prediction get off the fence big guy come on give me a team where's he going to be buff is he the back up to josh allen is he the back up to jalen hurt i don't know for the record philadelphia makes sense to me yeah we said that a while ago back up to jalen hertz winning organization good offensive line weapons just taking some wear and tear last Philadelphia. I mean, I think Justin Fields to Philadelphia makes a lot of sense. That'd be a good spot to go, not the pressure to start, get into a good organization. I like it. That makes sense. Jay Mack with the news. No, no, no, no, turn on the news. This is the herd line news.

Let's start with the Cincinnati Bengals. Obviously, T. Higgins yesterday was the big news, and another piece dropped today. They just traded Joe Mixin to the Houston Texans. Cincinnati's, replacing Mixon with Zach Moss, who signed a really cheap two-year, $8 million deal. Joe Mixon's a good player. He struggled a bit last year. He has been productive in the past. I don't know. Where do you fall on this? Like, well, I think Joe Mixon is better than Zach Moss. I would agree. Joe Mixon's a power back with speed. He's a home run hitter when he's free. I mean, he can, he can give you a burst. I always thought Joe Mixon was like a poor man's Adrian Peterson, big, strong,

physical, but doesn't have the power or the speed of Adrian, but Joe Mixon's a very good NFL running. So this just goes to show how tough team building is. The Bengals had Burrough, Mixon, Chase, Higgins, and their window was there. They got to a Super Bowl. And now you've got to pay Burrow

and Higgins is chirping, Mixing's out the door, it's difficult. It's really tough in the NFL. They make it tough. I think one of the questions in the NFL is that, I'll give you an example. So Gardner Minshu with Shane Steichen has a really good year. Now he goes to the Raiders. Those numbers are coming down. T. Higgins with Joe Burrell,

an offensive coach and Jamar Chase on the other side, very productive. I could see a defensive culture overpaying for T. Higgins with an average quarterback and you don't get the numbers. So I think you've got to be careful when you go out and get Bengals is that you had the offensive coach, a great quarterback, a star receiver. It made everybody else around them look really, really good. The T. Higgins one's fascinating, because I like him, but Joe Burrow was throwing to him. He could never be double-teamed.

I mean, everything he ran was solo coverage. Didn't he almost, like, win the MVP of the Super Bowl against the Rams? No, I like T. a lot, but I could see somebody paying him a massive number one contract. I see him as a great two. I don't see him as a one. He could be one for a few teams. I think T. Higgins is maybe the best two in the league. Why don't the Houston Texans go get him?

Listen, they got good 1A, 1B, whatever it is. Because I think they look and the Houston Texans say, Tankdale, Nico Collins, we have twos. Why pay a fortune for another two? Well, then it's a pick your poison. Fine. You don't want to double team Tiggins? We'll hit it.

We'll hit Takeda. You don't have to double T. He's a good player. He's tough, man. When Jamar Chase was out, I think there's a small table size six games. He performed like a number one. But with Joe Burrow. Burrow and the Mahomes.

You got to be careful in free agency. 33% of free agents hit. So, like, for instance, Gardner Minchu looked great last year. Why? Jalen Hertz was Shane Steichen. Rookie Justin Herbert was Shane Steichen. You ever notice wherever Shane Steichen goes, where Kyle Shanahan goes? Made Matt Schaub a pro bowler.

But you're not getting that in free agency. By the way, Devante Adams is watching you take shots at Gardner Minschew. He's getting ready to draft a letter. Get me the hell out of here. Somebody come get me. Next up, speaking of dumpster fires, holy cow, the New York Giants. Just a total disaster. So they let Sequan go.

There's the chirping on his way out the door. And then they swing a trade to get defensive. They got Brian Burns from the Panthers. He's a very good player. New York gave up a second in this draft and a fifth in 2025. And they swapped fifth round picks this year. Okay, so what they're doing is what the Raiders did. Yeah, dumb.

No. That's dumb. What the Raiders did is we do not have one. one of the top two quarterbacks in our division. So we're going to create the best defensive front. And what the Giants are saying is we don't have a DAC or a Jalen Hertz, and we may not have a Jaden Daniels. But we're going to have the best defensive front in the league to put pressure on the other quarterback.

So the Giants are basically saying, and this is what the Raiders are saying, and I like what the Raiders do. The Giants are saying, we don't have a quarterback currently that can compete and win games against those guys. But we will put their quarterback under constant duress in Philly, Dallas, and Washington. So Burns got 5-141, 87.5 million guaranteed second highest paid edge rusher in NFL. And they have Zibito on the other side. Tibido, they have one other lineman who's O'SX. Dexter Lawrence.

I mean, that's a very good defensive. Offensive coordinators are just terrified. I mean, that secondary is total, total pathetic. Very negative. I mean, you know, I'm a Jets fan. I got to take jabs. That being said, quick note on the Panthers, there are reports that Burns could have fetch two first round picks around the deadline. Now, you never know what to believe in the reports.

Did they screw this up waiting to trade Burns now? I mean, a second and a fifth? Panthers fans are upset, including a country music star Luke Combs. I'm not familiar with his work, but he's a big deal. He like tweeted at the Panthers blasting them. What are we doing? We didn't get a first for McCaffrey. We didn't get a first for Burns. Yeah. I'll just remind you, the best time to rebuild was last year. That's, you've got to remember that all the time. Carolina is without question on a heater as the worst team in the league for a half a decade. They are a mess. You know, say what you want about Cam Newton.

They were fun when he was there. They didn't win all the time, but they were fun with Cam Newton. Well, every other year they were fun. Well, they were a good. Cam made him a good watch. You could buy a season ticket, go to a game, and have fun watching Cam. This is unwatchable. So the four worst teams in the league?

Carolina's by a mile. Carolina, New York Giants, Raiders and Titans? Oh, Patriots. I want to see what the Raiders. I'm really interested in what the Raiders get in the draft. So you're the one. You're the one who cares about the Raiders draft. All right, final story.

Hey, let's go to the NBA. Your favorite team, Boston Celtics. Shocker, no Drew Holiday, no Porzingis, didn't matter. They become the first team to win 50 games this year. Your boy. Jason Tatum and Jalen Brown, they went off, combining for 53 points. Boston, 50 plus wins for the third straight season. and they're going to the show, Cowher.

Just be ready for it. The Jason Tatum Invitational. I can't wait for the playoffs. Tateum just flushing in transition. Portland's Scoot Henderson and all these kids. DeAndre 8. But Portland's two years away. Two years away from being two years away, the great Franfichella.

I just want to remind people, and I said this, I think Friday or maybe yesterday. They had CJ McCollum and Dame Lillard, and you could pencil them in for 45 to 50 wins a year in the playoffs. And maybe they make a run. They decided they had a ceiling. Yes. That didn't work. I agree with it.

Okay. Portland has the second worst record in the West. They'll get another great draft pick. Ooh, draft picks. They have tremendous young players. Listen, they stayed with Dame and CJ too long, in my opinion. They were duplicates. Dane was the better version.

They were getting to the playoffs every year. What's wrong with that? I just think. They might not make the playoffs for like four more years. No, just give them what? So this year was going to be bumpy. next year they'll be improved. The following year, there'll be a seventh seat.

Stake dinner, assuming I'm, you know, I survived the move. And you're still living in California. State dinner that the Portland Trailblazers are not a playoff team in three years. You're not going to remember that. The audience will. You make all these bets, and you're about 16 in the hole on me. Oh, stop it. By the way, how about the three-team parlay I hit last night in college hoops?

Boo-ya. What was the big? JMU hit that. Oh, JMU. My team. I graduated from JMU. They're going on the show. Have you watched them play twice this year?

This feels on brand is going to the Ravens.

Two years, about $16 to $20 million. $9 million guaranteed. You don't care much about that. What you do care about. They lost Gus Edwards, the running back to the Chargers. And then Austin Echler went to the Commander. So it's a little musical chairs with running backs. You got Chargers got a little more of a power back.

Commanders got a clever back in Austin Echler, who I think is undervalue. You banged up a bit, but very quick, very clever, can catch out of the backfield as well. Nice player. And Derek Henry goes to the Raven. So Lamar Jackson, Derek Henry, they've got their receivers now. So it kind of feels like a power move on brand. Derek Henry is physically very unique. He never wears down.

He's gotten a bit more expensive and Tennessee wanted to move on. But he'll be a great player for Baltimore for a couple of years. And there you go. So I was thinking about this, Jay Mack. You know, we talk about this all the time. come into the draft. Everybody has a mock draft. And so we're trying to guess what teams like what quarterbacks. But let's flip that.

If you ask the quarterbacks, and I'm not talking about Caleb Williams because he's going number one. And you'd want to stay number one if you can be number one. Endorsements, more money, blah, blah, blah. But take the other five or six quarterbacks available. If there's seven teams in the top 16 that appear the most likely to take a quarterback, Not all will, but they feel like the most likely. Bears, Washington, New England, Vikings, Broncos, Raiders, and Seattle.

So take the Bears out at number one. Caleb's going there. Of those remaining six teams, you got all these quarterbacks out there. If you ask them, what's the best landing spot? Because the difference between being drafted third and eighth, what do you care? You're not the number one. guy. You're getting, you're getting, you know, you're getting paid pretty well. I think Minnesota is a great landing spot. Smart, smart, offensive coach, a McVeigh guy. Kevin O'Connell is a really

bright coach. Best receiver in the league and an excellent number two receiver in Jordan Addison. Excellent tight end, a top five left tackle, and they just signed Aaron Jones from the Packers. That, and you don't have to start immediately. Sam Darnold for a year start. So if I'm Drake May, Michael Pennix, J.J. McCarthy, Bo Nix, Jaden Daniels, boy, that is really, really attractive in Minnesota. So that's about a safer landing spot as you can get. You've got a left tackle who's young and is going to start for a decade.

You have a great one and a two at wide receiver, a decent three and a top tight end, and an offensive coach that can massage all of it. and now I get the veteran Aaron Jones and explosive running back? And I don't have to start. I can play behind Sam Darnold for a year. If I'm better, I'll start by Thanksgiving. If not, I'll sit.

So zero pressure. I mean, Minnesota, to me, feels like a furnished apartment for a quarterback. Put some stuff in the fridge. You're ready to roll. That is, Minnesota's doing it right. And for the record, this is why Green Bay, for years and years,

has done very well at quarterback. They always have good old lines. they have offensive coaches, they've always got a weapon, there's not a ton of pressure, they don't ask you to start. You know, Chicago drafts a quarterback, you got to go start. You got to save the franchise. It just adds elements and tonnage to a position that's really hard to excel out anyway. So, I mean, again, I think the difference between getting drafted second and nine, I'd rather

go nine if I go to Minnesota. That's a really good spot, and it's a division without a great defense. Lions don't have one, Packers don't have one, Bears probably the best, probably, but not overwhelming. So, all good. Nick Wright, next hour. Also, it should be noted that the Packers signed Josh Jacobs, and they let Aaron Jones go.

So I like both. Aaron Jones has been banged up, and it was kind of getting expensive. It is a tough decision, and I was first sort of surprised by it, but you got to be honest they freed up $25 million moving off David Boktiari and Aaron Jones because the Josh Jacob deal is just

it's a one-year deal. They have three one-year options. So Green Bay made tough decisions but this to me feels like the last tentacle to Aaron Rogers. Right? First, Devante Adams left and Aaron didn't have him

and then Bactiari now gone and all of a sudden now, you know, Aaron Jones is now gone, and this is Jordan Love's team. So Green Bay doesn't historically make a ton of moves in free agency, and this one shocked me. But essentially now, it's Jordan Loves team. They got younger and cheaper. And last year, they were the youngest team and one of the cheapest offensively. And now they got younger and cheaper on offense.

So, and by the way, when Brady, the legend, the goat, left New England, they crumbled. when Aaron Rogers leaves Green Bay one year later, they're in better shape. Can I read you an Antonio Pierce quote about Josh Jacobs from three days ago? Sure. He is an alpha. He is what you want at running back. He is that guy that when he talks, people listen, and you respect that. All these quotes from Pierce three days ago about essentially, boy, Josh Jacobs, he is the heartbeat of our team.

He is the essential rater. and they just let him go. What is going on with the Raiders? I'm just telling you, if you read the stories about Pierce, that was like his favorite player on the team. He loved Josh Jacobs, and now he's just gone? Down on your Raiders, Colin. Your Raiders.
