Oh, here we go on a Monday. We are stacked. Live in Los Angeles, Dodgers in the World Series, facing the New York Yankees, it's the herd. Wherever you may be and however you may be listening, thanks for making us part of your day. J-Mack, it was a moment in time, a moment.

Brock Purdy to go toe-to-to-to-to- with Pearty. Patrick Mahomes, it did not. It did not transpire the way you are hoping for. So thank you for making me laugh to start the show because there's going to be a lot of tears in this. Well, it is official. Kyle Shanahan now 0 and 5 against Andy Reed. It's official. Number one, Kansas City is the best team in the league.

Maybe by a lot. Number two, they're easily the most responsible. sourceful team in the league. Everybody has injuries. Doesn't affect them at all. And number three, Andy Reid is separated from even the other good coaches. Kyle Shanahan's special teams, annual embarrassment.

Kyle Shanahan's red zone offense totally dependent, it appears, on Christian McCaffrey. Shanahan's a very good coach. But in high-leverage situations, he doesn't have the adaptability, the ingenuity of Andy Reed. Kyle Shanahan

has a very good system that's excellent with Christian McCaffrey. You take out that player, a running back, and even when their backup running back is good, it's not the same team. Andy Reed, hey, let's put Carson Wentz in the backfield with Mahomes. That'll get them.

Again, both teams were missing a star running back. Both teams were missing a collection of receivers. Neither quarterback played their best game ever. Offensive lines for both Kansas City and 49ers, okay, but in every single high leverage situation, Mahomes in Kansas City up here, Purdy Shanahan down there. Now, you could say to yourself, Colin, that, come on, don't be naive, this is all Mahomes. Okay, let's say it is.

That's even worse news for San Francisco. You're going to give the bag to Brock Purdy? Brock Purdy, let's please contextualite. Good quarterback. but when he's missing pieces, the red zone offense, man. You know, his two big completions, both underthrown. Thankfully, Tom Brady called it out.

This is what I've consistently said about Brock Purdy. He's a good quarterback with nice mobility. But he was just eight for 18. Missing Debo, Iyuk may be gone now. Eight for 18 on throws, just five yards downfield with three picks. That's what he was. Yes, he was missing Debo. and Mahomes has been missing

Brock Purdy is overwhelmingly Although I think he's got some talent. He has been the beneficiary of a good coach with a great system and a collection of Hall of Fame level. George Kiddell, Trent Williams, Christian McCaffrey, take those out, and there's almost no extraordinary DeBrock Purdy, size, arm, movement. Yet in all those situations, when you remove all of those, Purdy and Mahomes are asked to do two different things. Purdy is asked in San Francisco, don't screw up. Here's the keys to the Mercedes. Mercedes, don't screw up. That's what he's asked to do. Purdy is six and eight in games in which

he's just had one, one turnover. Mahomes is asked to carry a franchise, get rid of Tyreek Hill, move off great players, average offensive tackles, can you be magical when we don't have all the resources we had to start the year, start the dynasty, or start the game? These are two different asks. One is the best quarterback on the planet, regardless of who's around him. One does a good job when everything's in place. And that's what I've said about this. Just contextualize. You give most quarterbacks in this league time to throw. Number one receiver, excellent offensive line. They're going to look good. What Mahomes did yesterday on a game in which he didn't play that well, he just in the highest moments,

I mean, yesterday was a referendum on head coaching at the highest level, quarterbacking at the highest level, Mahomes and Purdy. I mean, you may not want to hear this, but, I mean, even on that bruising touchdown run, it's just Mahomes, off script, on script, it doesn't matter. He always makes the play. I actually was not trying to, like, lower my shoulder. I was trying to, like, absorb the hit. I knew I was going to be right there in the end zone.

And that dad bought, man, just. had enough weight on me where he went down. So it wasn't like I was necessarily trying to seek out contact. I was trying to absorb it and get in the end zone and just ended up looking good for me. Yeah, I've just watched this matchup too many times, and I keep seeing the same exact thing every time. Mahomes is magical in crisis.

Purdy needs everything to be in place. Shanahan has a really good system. Their special teams are annually, cringy, and Kansas City is more resourceful. Both these teams were missing all sorts of players. One kind of capsized. The other, elevated. And that's what I've watched now, five straight times.

All right, let's talk about the second best team in the league, and I think it's pretty substantial and clear. It's Detroit. That was not an easy game. At Minnesota, Minnesota has engulfed good teams. And the Lions may never. get their defense right. They've been trying for years. The minute they get it right, that horrible injury to Aidan Hutchison, right? But quarterback, O-line, run game, clever offensive

coordinator, power, finesse, culture, there are no weaknesses to that offense. I mean, Jared Goff essentially looks like he's playing catch with his friends. In his last three games, Jared Goff's completing 85% of his throws with 153 passer rating. It is a video game. And remember, Minnesota's defense, especially at home with that crowd noise, is ferocious, is outstanding. He had three incompletions against them. C.J. Stroud, Brock Purdy, I've never seen anything like this defense. I was seeing ghosts.

Jared Goff's playing catch. It almost feels like as we head into week eight, Chiefs, Lions, Super Bowl, it's kind of starting to feel inevitable. You don't have to reach for the narrative or grasp for a story. I mean, Detroit's offense in an offensive league. Here's

what I also love. Is that there's this collective chip on the shoulder with Detroit. I mean, golf was cast off in L.A. Get out of here. And then Dan Campbell has been mocked. And the city of Detroit for years has been a punchline.

And Detroit has taken that and built this muscle car from different parts. It's got Mad Maxfield to it. And they are head coach, GM, offensive line, tackles, everything. They are a knee-cap-biting monster. They are just the team. And Minnesota's really good. Minnesota's got a brilliant defensive coordinator.

Jared Goff had three incompletions. So, I mean, and what I loved about this game for Detroit, Detroit trailed. Uh-oh, on the road. and then Detroit led. And then they trailed again. And then they came back. And then they had to hold off a more than capable Sam Donald Viking offense.

It's the kind of game you see in January and February. All these routes are fun. But what you watch with Detroit and Minnesota, that feels like the NFC championship. And you're on the road and you trail early. And the crowd is humming. And you can't hear. and you just start running the football, and you take a lead, then you fall behind, and then you rally and take the lead again and hold on.

That looked like a playoff game. I feel like with Detroit, I'm watching this sort of adolescent boy, and every couple months his voice gets deeper. He's got more confidence. Few pimples, you know, but then he walks out one morning, and mom looks up, and he's 6'5-245 and has a D-1 scholarship offered to Ohio State, or Michigan. It just, they just looked apart. Power, finesse, run game, effortless completions,

win leading, comeback when trailing. I don't see anything about Detroit I don't like. I just seen it for years from Kansas City. I've never seen it before from Detroit. This year was going to be an interesting year for the Lions. Instead of hunting, they were the hunted. They're fine. They're fine being the hunted.

Here's Dan Campbell after. You guys didn't bat an eye. love this freaking team. I love the coaches. I love the players. I love everything about it, man. We are so freaking hardened. Even when it doesn't go the way we want it to, man, you find a way. That is an outstanding win. We are one and oh in the division. That was something else. Sometimes you get these in a regular season. You'll see it in the NBA. You'll get that handful of games. You're like, oh, that's a playoff game. That's a conference final. That felt like an NFC conference championship game. And Detroit goes into Minnesota

with the defensive coordinator Brian Florek, who had flummoxed everybody. And they just rattleing off drive, after drive, clever, smart, physical, power. That was something. J-MAC, Detroit and Kansas City. Now we pivot an expose around the corner of what the Jets and the Steelers delivered.

You know, I didn't see that game at all. What happened? I was watching baseball and, you know, playing chess with my children. But how did the Jets do last night? I didn't catch it. Well, it'd be very easy to take the anvil and hammer the jets. But I will say this. That's like, you know, too easy.

But Russell Wilson, after that first half, that second half by Russell Wilson, remember, Big Ben's like, you can't play them. The city, you can't play them. The Pittsburgh media, you can't play them. And that first half for Russell was not pretty. But we'll talk about Russell and the Steelers and that offense. I got the data this morning. It's a little uncomfortable. Another quarterback in the AFC that may be better than Aaron Rogers.

learn the hard way and listen now. It was interesting watching the Steelers and the Jets. I really thought the Jets were going to win this game, a very good 2-and-4 team. And I've been as critical as anybody on Pittsburgh, sort of a tone deaf to offense. But I'm going to say this slowly. This will be viewed by JMAC as controversial data

that it appears there's another AFC quarterback better than Aaron Rogers. Since the start of 2022, both Aaron and Russ have played on two different teams, in that time. Maligned Russell Wilson has a better passer rating, thrown for more yards per game, and a better TD interception ratio. Yes, Russell Wilson is corny and goes to bed in his uniform and practices high fives and has cheesy slogans. But you know, I'm watching the Steelers last night with Russell Wilson. Think about this. Defensive coach, power run game, very good at home,

pass rush. How's this sound? Seattle's Steel, Seahawks Light. I know, I know. That's a little over the top because Russell's no longer in his prime. But if you recall, Russell was not terrible last year. He had a 98-pass rating in Denver. The Broncos defense was atrocious. But the Steelers are 4-2, a Super Bowl-winning coach, an excellent defense,

a power-run game, and I thought Russell Wilson settled the offense down. Nobody in Pittsburgh thought he should start. Big Ben, the legend, said, what are we doing here? Nobody thought it would look like that. And by the way, those people were all right in the first quarter. It was ugly. But then the Russell Wilson you saw in Denver last year, 98 passer rating, 26 touchdowns, eight picks. In the last three quarters, he had 126 passer rating.

He didn't turn the ball over. He hitting a couple of big throws. He's always been, Russell, frankly, has always been pretty good in the red zone. Even in Denver last year, he's pretty good in the red zone because of his movement. He's good on stuff when he can. roll out to the side, get clear vision on a defined look. That's when he's at his best. He is good in the red zone.

So yes, he got booed after the first three drives, and I didn't think it would look like that. But you know what? He's not throwing teammates under the bus. Unlike the jets, he's good in the red zone, his cadence, the quarterback sneaks, the high leverage moments. It looked the part. There were two people in Pittsburgh outside of Russell Wilson who thought he could do that last night. Sierra

and Russell Wilson's coach, Mike Tomlin, that's it. Maybe those three people could thought it could look like that. I didn't. And after the first three drives, I thought I looked really smart. But then I'm watching Aaron and the moods and the eye rolling, and I'm watching

Russell's movement and Red Zone excellence. Yes, he's very good in the Red Zone. Something San Francisco is not. And the quarterback sneaks and the cadence and the throw over the shoulder to Pickens. Here's Mike Tomlin after.

Your boldest decisions to go with three. That's why I'm well compensated. Yeah. I mean, Mike Tomlin made the call. Nobody bought into it. We all looked right for the first quarter. But after that, a lot of off-script stuff. You could watch Tomlin.

He was rooting for Russell. Go back to the Denver year last year. Again, Russell's not for everybody. He doesn't necessarily galvanized teammates. George Pickens looked happy. Well, you have five catches over 100 yards. George Pickens looked happy. The run game looked powerful.

They just looked credible. They had their footing under them. They've got Arthur Smith as a veteran offensive coordinator. They just look settled. I mean, that's the most points Pittsburgh has scored in how many years? J. Mack with the news. No, no, no, no. Turn on the news.

This is the Herd Line News. All right, let's start with the World Series, Colin. We're getting what we've been asking for. Dodgers, Yankees, it's all set. Dodgers ticked down the Mets 10-5 last night in game six to clinch their first World Series birth since 2020. L.A. scored 46 runs in the NLTS, fourth most in a postseason series all time.

Here's Joe Davis with the final out. There's a bouncing ball to second. Taylor's got it. Los Angeles is alive. They're headed to the World Series. Dodgers, Yankees, and the Fall Classic. I mean, it's amazing. Tommy Edmonds is in center.

Now he's in short. Kike Hernandez. I mean, they are, it is, I don't think unless you follow the Dodgers are a big baseball fan. They have an entire pitching staff and bullpen on the shelf. And they just manufacture runs. They have to have, you know, bullpen games now. You have to basically throw bullpen games. I can work against the Mets.

Let's see if it works against the Yankees. Colin, this is very exciting match. Personally, I'm a little surprised O'Tani didn't win MVP. They went with Edmund, who had a great NLCS, but Otani was just so unbelievable. How about Mookie Betts? Mookie Bet's good. The bats are strong for the Dodgers.

This series is going to be great. LA's fourth World Series appearance in the last eight seasons. This is the Yankees in over, first and over a decade. And Dave Roberts, Dodger manager, Aaron Boone, Yankee manager, if you would have polled fans after last year, they would have both voted to get rid of the manager, but both the Dodgers and the Yankees, unlike the Jets or the Mets,

they don't listen to the outside noise in these major media markets, head down, few additives. Again, Yankees, Cashman, Boone, Dodgers have had it. Everybody in that organization feels like from vice presidents to presidents to owners to Dave Roberts, Dodgers don't listen to outside noise.

Very easy too. You have powerful media forces out here and out east, but it's Yankees Dodgers, and it feels right. I mean, once the playoffs started, and it was the Yankees against the American League Central, kind of like, historically, they just roll over those teams. It's the first time these two have met in 43 years in the World Series. And I can conjure up, I can conjure up that World Series back,

like 70s, 80s. I can think of a couple of the players, but it was, they were big brands back then and they're bigger brands now. So World Series game one, Yankees, Dodgers, coverage begins Friday, 7-Eastern on Fox. Are you going to rank the top 10 players? Because I'm very curious.

Like, this seems like a toss-up, like a literal coin toss in the World Series. I don't know. Oh, I think the Dodgers, really? Healthy have... Well, no, no. They're not healthy, though.

I mean, the Dodgers have second-level players, like Kike Hernandez or a Max Muncie, who are not like the stars. If I said Mac Muncie, Max Muncie has four home runs in the World Series, you wouldn't be surprised at all. They're second tier guys. If I told you Aaron Judge had three home runs and Max Muncie, four. And Juan Soto's six.

Like, come on. I'm very excited for this. Do you have, are you going to rank the top 10 players? I think you should. Okay. I feel like it's Dodgers in six or seven, but, you know, it's all going to come. down obviously high leverage pitching moments that's what it's going to come down to yeah

seventh inning two on two out that's what it's going to come to what the watt the star power in the series is great very formidable i'm going to tell you who's really happy upstairs oh are they they're interested in this well i mean guardians podrays although it could have been compelling doesn't feel like yankees dodgers yeah certainly uh all right let's go to the nfl where your guy jordan love man this guy just keeps delivering in big spots yeah how How about the walk-off field goal win for the Packers? Jordan Love, he threw a couple bad interceptions, but ultimately delivered,

and he discussed his mentality on that final drive after the game. That's one of the biggest areas that we tried to improve on from last year. I think we came up short too many times last year in these two-minute drill situations go win the game. So we've definitely put a lot of time into it in practice. You can't try and not be aggressive and just take checkdowns all day. you got to be out there and be aggressive and go win those games. I will say this.

That team is so joyful to watch. Watch the sideline of the Packers once they got rid of Grumpy. When they got rid of Grumpy, who went to New York for the Jets? Oh, the quarterback. Watch Green Bay play now. They're generationally. They all feel like they're 23 to 27 years old. That offense is so filthy, talented.

Have they missed on an offensive draft pick in the last three years? Everything works. Even pouty Romeo Dobbs seemed to get his act together and realize. Lee, Dodds, Watson, the Tide ends, Kraft, Musgrave, everything works. I know it's all about the Packers. Colin, Texans were not good at football yesterday. Well, did you, have you noticed this? Like, so.

They were bad. This week we talked about it. I said, love's better than C.J. Stroud. This was a great example. Look at what Lafleur. Matt Lafleur is willing to allow Jordan Love to do. I felt like Damiko Ryan. was keeping C.J. Stroud in kind of a box on the attempts.

I mean, Matt LaFleur is like, bro, I'm going to let you do a little far out here and throw ugly picks. Matt LaFleur is like Andy Reed with Mahomes. I'm going to let you do whatever you want. The ultimate sign of respect and trust is when quarterback's like, in a game like that against D'Amico Ryan's defense, Matt LaFleur is like, hey, we had a pick, let's go. They let, they are totally, absolutely confident in Jordan Love. He is much more. think he's much more far than Rogers.

He's a more galvanizing personality. He's more likable. He's a little off script. He can throw some ugly ones. But so can Mahomes and Alan. He can throw some ugly ones, but he's got magic stuff. I just, I'm a little concerned about Stroud. No Nico Collins.

Colin, are you ready for the CJ Stroud line yesterday in a big game against the Packers? He was 10 for 21 for 86 yards. They're keeping him. yards passing. No, they're keeping him in a box. That's like Aiden O'Connell. If Aaron Rogers did that, it would be DefCon 1 in New York. CJ Stroud had 86 yards passing. They almost won the game, but they couldn't move the football. No drive longer than 55 yards yesterday, Colin. Also, they elected for a field goal late. You know, the defensive coach elected for a field goal. My take is Green Bay in that spot would have probably gone for it. I think Houston and Green Bay are

kind of the same team. I don't think they're quite ready to win a Super Bowl. quite, maybe I'm wrong, quite, but it's close. But after that game with Green Bay and what they're willing to allow Jordan Love to do. I mean, they just, they're like, kid, go do your thing. And that says a lot about what Green Bay institutionally thinks of him. Love tied for the league lead in interceptions with Patrick Mahomes, by the way, and Gardner Monshoe, but nobody cares about him. For the record, Joe Mixon did have a good run day, so Houston was much more reliant

on their run game. Yeah, yeah, no, Mixon was excellent, but they, 3.4 yards per play. was like New York Giants football. That's bad. Final story, Colin, college football. How about the scene Saturday in Austin? Absolute shocker. Georgia pulls off the upset. But this happened. You've seen this on the screen, this alleged holding there, late third quarter. Texas was down 15. Another bad Carson Beck pick. It's intercepted, but there was a flag on the play and called for PI. Fans got crazy through stuff on the field. See all these bottles on the field? So then the He's huddled and changed the call and said we're picking up the flag.

It's an interception. Kirby Smart loses his mind. Here's what his thought was after the game. I will say that now we've set a precedent that if you throw a bunch of stuff on the field and endanger athletes that you've got a chance to get your call reversed. And that's unfortunate because to me that's dangerous. That's not what we want. And that's not criticizing officials.

That's what happened. He's 100% right, Colin. This is bad. Like, listen, first of all, the flag was stupid. It didn't look like PI. But to change it after people complained, I don't know. It was bad. But by the way, these Georgia Bulldogs, that defense dominated.

Well, everybody now, it's funny, when Oregon beat Ohio State, Ohio State didn't have a stinker, they played very, very well, and they lost. Texas has a stinker. Georgia has a stinker. Bama has won. Tennessee has one. Everybody out there except Ohio State. I mean, even Oregon when they beat Boise State and Idaho looked awful.

Ohio State's the only team that I've watched and I'm like, I'm telling you that, Oregon loss, nobody in the country is winning that game. Nobody's winning that. Georgia's not winning that game. So it's like Ohio State and the other thing we'll all defend Texas, if you were going to lose. Because we all know that Ohio State, Georgia, Texas, Oregon, they're all making the playoffs. You didn't mention Alabama. Maybe not. I don't know if they're going to make.

They're real loose. Two losses. But if the other team, if you're going to lose in your Texas, what you wouldn't want to do is lose in overtime. And you think to yourself, you know what? You got your butt kicked at home and pushed around. So you're going to face Georgia. The chance of facing Georgia again are probably 50%.

This is the way to lose. With a 12-team playoff, we've seen this in the NFL for years and years. If you're going to lose, get humiliated to make. amazing how that lingers for two and a half months. Motivational. That's the way you got to lose. Like Ohio State plays Oregon again. I think they would beat him.

But that was a go-either-way game. You can talk yourself into a lot of psychologies there. So two other things. Carson Beck, I'm sorry. He is not the dude. Well, he's not a first-round quarterback. He can't throw the ball down the field with any confidence. It's dicey.

I text somebody over the weekend. He feels like a top of the third round pick. Yeah, he could end up being Brock Oswald or something. But the other thing is, you reference. this last week. Texas was like the new epicenter of college football. Did you see how many celebrities were on hand for this game? Like they almost overdid it. Oh, they did. And, you know, your boy, Sark is going around shaking Joe Rogan's hand. Hey, KD, what's up? Like, hey, can you lock in on the game? Hanging out with McConaughey and the other guy from the Tom Cruise movie? It's like,

it just felt like they were not locked in. They're like, hey, look at all this exciting stuff happening in Austin. Yeah, at halftime it was not all right, all right. It was a, they got pushed around. That's what happened. J. Mack with the news. Well, that's the news. And thanks for stopping by. The Hurdline news. It's funny to watch college football fans

now. Everybody's getting all definitive in all these referendums. It doesn't matter. We got a 12-team playoffs. It's like basketball. We got March. We crushed you. See in two months. Georgia and Texas. See in two months. I'd rather be Texas. Getting humiliated, pushed around.

I'd rather be Texas in two months than Georgia. Try to motivate your players when you're You already won the first fight, first round knockout. So to me is everybody is, you know, college football has always been so territorial and tribal and punitive and this means that and that means, none of that means anything. You're all playing a game in Descender. And we all know Georgia is going to make the playoff and Texas will, Alabama, should Ohio State will, Oregon, we all know who's in it. And that doesn't lessen the fun for me. I can't wait for December.

But this game, this is the first iteration of it. They're playing again. These kind of teams are playing again. And so, you know, you don't want to empty the bag emotionally, physically play calling in the first matchup. That's why if the Chiefs lose next weekend, oh my God, the Chiefs lost. So what? They're in the playoffs. Everybody, we always understand in the NFL, like you have a bad Sunday.

I mean, the Chiefs don't, but everybody has a bad Sunday. In college football, even the good teams have a bad Saturday. It won't matter. Be healthy, ready to play, focused, laser focus in December. Aaron Judge leads the Yankees against Shohei Otani and the Dodgers in a historic World Series clash. Game one begins at 7 p.m. Eastern on Fox. Well, I said before the season, I thought the 49ers had. peaked as an organization. I did not think they'd win a Super Bowl. And I feel like they, you know, they're the poker player that's been playing full tilt for years. And they're, and you know

it, it's, they can still mop up on the guys in the neighborhood. But when they play the top players, they've been going full tilt for too long. They're beat up. They're old. I think Detroit is a younger, better version of San Francisco. And I said that was my prediction going into the season, is that the dynasties that last in this league, you have a majority. of your best players at the right positions and in their prime. And Debo's banged up. He was sick yesterday. And then Iyuk had a drop.

And he was loud in the offseason. Perhaps now there's an ACL problem this morning. We'll wait for that. But if you look at the great dynasties in the history of this league, you can go back to Lombardi and Bart Starr and Bradshaw and Knoll. You can go to, you know, Aikman and Jimmy Johnson and Montana. and Bill Walsh, Brady Belichick, Mahomes Reed. It's always about a legendary quarterback and a top coach.

Brock Purdy's not legendary. And Kyle Shanahan increasingly is a very good coach. But if you look at Purdy and Kyle Shanahan, you can't deny this. You take out Christian McCaffrey from those two. They're not very good in the red zone, not terribly adaptable and completely limited. In the red zone. I mean, you take any player you want, Tyree Kill, Rishie Rice, Isaiah Pacheco, a right tackle. You can take anybody out of Kansas City.

They're still magic in the red zone because Andy is more adaptable, clever. You take just Christian McCaffrey out of San Francisco. And Purdy and Shanahan are good. They're not special. And so maybe when he comes back, that changes everything. but it also creates a real truth. Is that Brock Purdy and Kyle Shanahan? And I like both.

They're both good, but they're kind of like McCaffrey dependent. Chiefs aren't Pacheco dependent or Rishi-Rice dependent or Tyreek Hill dependent. I mean, there are games when Travis Kelsey isn't around. It doesn't matter. So, I mean, I've seen this thing five times. And yesterday was really stark. It was in Santa Clara. I mean, it's one thing if you're missing players and you're at home,

when you're on the road and missing multiple stars, what does that tell you? And I never thought this game felt like Kansas City when the Niners didn't buy into the fake punt and then they got an early pick and they couldn't get any points out of it. And you're looking first quarter, second quarter, seven to three Kansas City. You're like, you can't squander opportunities like that. So increasingly, Shanahan and Brock Purdy are very reliant on a guy that's not a around Christian McCaffrey. They're a bad red zone team without him.

Kansas City is a great red zone team, regardless. As long as Reed and Mahomes are there, regardless. Here's Shanahan on Brock Purdy's rough day. I didn't do anything really good on offense. I know he'd love to have all three of those picks back, so Brock's been playing unbelievable this year. Done some good things in offense this year, but today wasn't that day. All right.

I'd like to revisit the Steelers Jets Tiff last night. I will now attack it from the, I wanted to start with the Steelers, positivity, a Russell Wilson thing. First quarter, I'm like, I told you guys, last three quarters, I'm like, what am I watching? Well, what am I watching? Russell's moving around and dancing. But, you know, Aaron, he got all his buddies here, right?

Like, he's got all his buddies here. So he can't blame the team now. He's got everything he wants. He's got Devon DeVon Day Adams. He got the interim. coach. He, you know, his play collar buddy,

he's got everything you wanted. You got Alan Luzards, so he can't blame anybody. And it's, I'll let you in a second, let you hear who he's blaming. But you know what the Jets feel like now? They feel like an NBA team

where you kind of threw a bunch of stuff together, like the Phoenix Suns, and then you're like, yeah, yeah, yeah, we'll figure out, we'll figure out how to make it work somewhere, you know, around Thanksgiving. Yeah, bro, you're two and five. Now, schedule's easy.

Got New England around the corner. But, I mean, even just think about the Jets. Say this out loud. Interim coach. You're on your second offensive coordinator. You got two old offensive linemen, a guard that can't stay healthy, a rookie tackle. It's just a mismatch. It's a collection of talented players.

It's not a team. And Woody Johnson thinks, prickly moody 40-year-old Aaron Rogers, he can sew it all together. That's not him. He's a front-runner. When times are good, Aaron is money. he's never, I mean, before this week, he had four straight opportunities or three straight opportunities. Game winning drives you went 0 and 3. So Aaron's not the kind of guy to take a bunch of stuff and sew it all together.

That's not his personality. He's not a foxhole guy. He's just gifted. And there are certain personalities. I've Peyton Manning's like that. Mahomes is like that. He's one of the guys. He can sew everything together when it's kind of unraveling.

That's not Aaron's personality. I mean, Aaron's always been sort of. Mr. I'm above it all. I see the world differently. I do my own research. Well, I'm doing my own research. Aaron's not that good anymore. He was the second best quarterback in that game.

And by the way, you fired the best coach on your staff. Have you noticed the last two games? The Jets aren't as good defensively. They let go of their best coach. So, I mean, I'm just telling you what I'm seeing. The offense is better. But yesterday, the motion went away. last week we got all this motion in the offense where did it go my guess don't have this sourced my guess

Aaron doesn't like motion and Aaron told this new play caller you know what he told him let's let's bring the motion back let's let's not do as much motion as we did last week I know the media all loves it I don't like all that motion because Aaron historically does not like motion and Matt Lafleur with Aaron found out he doesn't like motion and Mike McCarthy found out and I think this new play caller put in some motion and because Hackett was so devastatingly awful. Aaron listened for a week. Back to last night, they didn't run any motion. Because Aaron's like, hey, I gave you a game.

We didn't win. Let's cut down the motion. So now you're just a pocket quarterback, 40 years old, doesn't move. A bunch of disparate parts. You're trying to sew it all together. It just, I mean, they're all curb appeal. That's what the jets are. Reliability?

Nope. Structure. Weird. They have great curb appeal. And so who do you blame? Here's Aaron after. You get everybody that you can believe, but it feels like a lot of the same things. Stop listening to you guys.

Number one. Number two, got to be accountable, you know. I got to play better. That's the key. So all these toys Aaron has, they got 15 points. They got 15 points. The Steelers inserting a quarterback. that hasn't played in a long time, they got 37.

So, I mean, if you really look at the Jets offense, as far as I can tell, Jemak, I could be wrong. The play that tends to work over and over is just dump it off to Brees Hall. He makes people, that play works very, very well. But there's a little bit of fools gold now with Aaron. He's more of an image and a logo than reality. He's got a little NFT to him.

It's a little fool's gold. It's the people that are not as smart as they think they are, keep embracing Aaron in it. This is a little NFT. Where's the substance? I'm getting all sorts of talk. Where's the substance? I don't buy into images and logos.

I want sustainability. I want production. He was a second best quarterback in that game. I'm doing my own research. He's just a pocket quarterback. The number one play in the Jets offense is Aaron quickly dumps it off to somebody else, Brice Hall, terrific player, who makes people miss. That's the offense.

That's like play 38 for the Chiefs. That's like play one. one for the Jets. That's what I see. Friends, family. A lot of people hitting me up. Boy, Cowherd's going to come after you for Brock Purdy and the Jets. You better strap in for Monday. And Colin, I got to be honest, I'm dull to this jet stuff at this point. I'm just, I'm numb. They were up 15-6 in total control. I think I texted you. This is the best half they've had all season. Yeah, it was. Two-minute drill, and Aaron throws an interception. An unbelievably stupid pass into, as Mark Sanchez would say, a defensive backs meeting that the Steelers had in midfield.

There's four guys there. Did that not reek to you of, hey, man, I already hit Devante Adams. I got it to Lazard. I got to force feed Garrow Wilson to keep him happy. It felt like one of those passes, and the Jets never recovered from that interception. The rest of the game. And listen, this was my second favorite pick of the weekend. I know. I really like this.

So I'm going to start by saying it was pretty exciting if you're a Steeler fan. the Steelers offense like power run game defense got their feet under him if you're Aaron Rogers Rich Samini covers the Jets and he had said this yesterday on a tweet or a column that I was reading and he deserves props for this

this is just a collection of talented guys it's not a team it's a finger pointing high leverage mistakes you just don't know what you're getting it's just a group remember when New England was running the dynasty they used to have this sign you know it's not about the town it's about the team. It can't just be a collection of players.

It's very NBA, or it's high-profile players, and we know they're talented, but you never feel like their help. Defense is bad. Who takes the big shot? I don't know what they are. And when I watch them yesterday, I'm like, that second half was like, I kind of felt like the Steelers may have a ceiling, but they were leaning into Tomlin, defense, culture, run game. It's like, the Steelers, I knew what they were, even if it's limited.

I'm watching the Jets and I'm like, yeah, they make some great plays. What are they? Well, that's a great question. You talked about us being like, we have good chemistry. You and I, like, you're excited during the show and afterward. You look at the Jets, they don't look happy. I don't see shots on the sideline of guys hanging out. Not a lot of that happening.

And, you know, the leader of the team's got to be the quarterback. He's got to be the unifier. How many years now have you said, Rogers is his own dude. He doesn't work well with others. No. He does not play well with others and wants to do his team. It's like any business, let's say you have a business, anybody listening, it could be a plumbing company. It could be a landscaping company.

It could be anything. It could be a law office. And you're out of sorts. The culture's not good. They're squabbling. You would interview people to bring into that plumbing company or that landscaping company. And you would be seeking the right personality, not just qualified people. I mean, you look for a job in America right now.

There's all sorts of qualified people. Aaron's not the fit to unify an impulsive owner and a messy culture. That's not his personality. He's more frontrunner than Foxhole guy.
