Live in L.A., it's the herd, wherever you may be. However you may be listening. Thanks for making us part of your day. Our final, for a while, herd hierarchy, eight teams left in the NFL will rank them. Our power rankings, one through eight, one hour from now. Nick Wright stops by. J. Mack, we don't want to be too harsh.

They're real jobs here. Families depending on these incomes and the NFL economy. But sometimes people are over their skis and need to be replaced. Is that fair? Wow, that is very fair. I don't know what I'm more excited about. You to come after Siriani or talk about that haircut you got. Look at that haircut.

I'm ready. It's haircut boy day. So when you have an offensive line and a mobile quarterback like Jalen Hertz, and you get three rushing first downs, 0 for 9 on third down, and 42 total rushing yards, that is coaching malpractice. I can defend, to some degree, every losing coach in the playoffs. Even Mike McCarthy, you can say they won 12 games. Dak had his best year, arguably. I mean, that's true.

but that thing last night, the last seven weeks for Philadelphia, I'm sorry, people in L.A. have seen that vibe. It's called the Brandon Staley Chargers vibe. Young coach over his skis. Where it's so bad, even the star quarterback regresses badly, from close losses to 10-point losses to the team basically no-shows at the end. And that's what they did the last month. A-coaches like, you know, McVeigh, Andy,

lead Shanahan A coaches. They can lose a coordinator or a top assistant. You don't even notice. B head coaches, let's say Dan Quinn in Atlanta. He can lose a really great coordinator, Kyle Shanahan, and it's not the same team. But if you're a C or a D or an F and you lose, let's say, Shane Steichen, which Nick Sariani lost, you're utterly incompetent. You have no business being a head coach.

The longer Shane Steichen was gone, it got worse every month. What you watched last night, the last third of the season, the team was telling you, yeah, this doesn't work. Star players scrubbing their social media, a star quarterback regressing. This is not going to work. When he got the job, the press conference, brutal. Two sources told me, I don't think he's ready. And this is Philadelphia.

You talk about a high leverage, high-intensity football job? I mean, throughout the course of his, career in Philly. He's yelling at fans in the tunnel, in the stands. He was like a kid who got a grown-up job and fooled people for a while because he had a great coordinator. I mean, good God, even the tush push doesn't work. Philly, Philly invented it. They can't even get their own invention right. So this is not overreacting. There are times that people can overreact. You're not going to sell Tua after he lost in cold weather. That would be overreacting. You're not going to trade, DAC after a loss, that would be overreacting.

But you can lose games. You can't lose a locker room. And during the early portions of that broadcast, you know that broadcasters, they talk to the team and the players on the sidelines for a couple hours before the games. They have production meetings. When Troy Aikman goes out and says, yeah, I don't like this body language by Philadelphia at all, you knew he'd heard something and was seeing what he heard. The team quit.

So the NFC playoffs, it's going to be Baker Mayfield, Jordan Love, Jared Gough, and Brock Purdy, just like we all predicted, right? What a disaster last night. It's not overreacting. Overreacting is a really good quarterback, has a bad game or a bad playoff. Aaron Rogers had those and saying he's a bum. That's not it. This was Staley with the Chargers, Siriani.

Smart guy gets an adult job, and they're just overwhelmed by it. Here was the coach after. I'm not thinking about that. I'm thinking about the guys. Again, there's a lot of guys in that locker room, all the guys in that locker room, every single one of them that put their heart and soul into this. I'm not worried about me. You went to Nick back?

I don't know what he was going anywhere. Where's the confidence level in him then to fix this team? I have everybody. I have a ton of confidence. confidence in everyone in this building. It's just a matter of us going out there and playing clean football. That's been something that we have not done. That's exactly what Charger players said.

And then the coach got let go and then people started being honest about it. I would be surprised. This is an organization in Philly with high standards. They're not chaotic. And they moved off winning coaches, Super Bowl winning coaches, Super Bowl winning quarterbacks. This is not a Jalen Hertz issue. This is not an O-line issue.

a personnel issue. Yeah, their secondary is not very good. But the lack of passion, the tackling was inept. That's just about effort. Great coaches get great effort. Bad coaches, you can see it on the field. And you did for three and a half hours. If Tampa Bay could catch, that thing was over in the first quarter.

All right, Buffalo beats Pittsburgh 3117. So what's interesting about this Bill's team, it reminds me of a former Tom Coughlin team with Eli Manning. I'll get to that in a few minutes. But this Bill's team had a major crisis in early December. So they were six and six. In mid-November, they fired the O.C. And, you know, it was just

an article came out with 25 sources written by Ty Dunn, who we put on the show before, covers Green Bay and Buffalo. And highly critical of what Sean McDermott and his rigidity had created, The team was up tight. Sean was too intense. So Sean McDermott could have chased two paths.

He could have been defensive. A lot of coaches are. Rigid, protecting his land and space. Or he could have looked in the mirror. Been thoughtful. Proactive. Owned his stuff. We all have crap and own it.

And that's what he did. The Buffalo Bills haven't lost since that article. I've been critical of Sean McDurbit, but he's not a meathead. He's somebody that's intuitive, he's smart, he was winning playoff games, getting him to the playoffs before Josh Allen.

Right? Like, this is a guy that knows what he's doing. I don't know if they won with Tyrod Taylor. I remember it was an ugly low-scoring game, but he got this to end into the playoffs. He's a smart guy. And Tom Conflin years ago, and many people, I remember because I lived out

east, it was like 2007, six. And Tom Coughlin had Eli Manning and the Giants. And Tom, his face would turn plum. He was yelling at players. And he had great legendary players and great defensive line and Eli Manning. And he was yelling and yelling. And Mara, the owner, went to him and said, you're losing the locker room. Lighten up with a media. Lighten up with the players. They want to love you. Put your arms around him. We think you're a great coach. You got a great quarterback. You got a great defense. Lighten up. And Tom Coughlin did. Tom Coughlin, smart guy, didn't get defensive, wasn't protecting his space, didn't try to project or deflect, just owned his crap. We all have it. And that's what Sean McDermott did. And what you're watching is a Buffalo team now. Success isn't easy.

If it was, everybody would have it. And he stepped in it with 9-11 comments. He had to fire an OC and the Von Miller controversy. This stuff's not easy. they lost to Philadelphia, virtually everybody bailed. But I kept saying, you know what? Look at their last couple drafts. They're twitchier at wide receiver.

They're faster. Josh Allen's still great, but they're not overly reliant on him to save every game. He'll still make one or two plays like Lamar Jackson, Mahomes that nobody else in the world can make, right? But this team feels a little bit like one of those New York giant teams with Coughlin, where you know you've got your quarterback, you've got some top defensive linemen, you've got a really intensive coach, high expectations, mid-season controversy, got to confront the coach on his issues, and the coach says, all right, I've got to get better.

I'm not going to get defensive. I don't know like the Giants, if they're going to go and win a Super Bowl, I think Baltimore is one of the better AFC teams I've seen, and they've got to face Kansas City and nemesis. but there are one win away from the AFC Championship and here was Josh Allen after. I think we're playing at a comfortable level because of the uncomfortable situations

that we've been in this last six, seven weeks. You know, it's almost a sense of our breath of fresh air and knowing that everybody's in the same position that we have been, you know, when or go home. And to be in that situation, like I said, the dividends that it's going to pay off, and I think you kind of saw that tonight of, you know, we were cool, calm and collected, and nobody blinked, and we just kind of went out there and did our job, and we're going to need to

continue to do that. Most of these NFL seasons all sort of blur together. I can't remember exactly what year this happened, what year that happened. But I do remember that Giants confrontation in 2006, and, you know, Kofflin went home. He talked to his wife. She said, you know, show your private side. You're a nice guy. Why don't you show it?

And the Mara family kind of confronted him, and it really changed. And from that point forward, I don't remember exactly what happened that season, but from that point forward, Coughlin had a lighter side, was easier to get along with. And I think that's what Sean McDermott needed. He probably didn't love the article, probably still ticks him off, but 25 sources is a lot in a room. Leslie Frazier left. They get rid of the OC. You had controversy.

Many people, when you can find 25 sources to talk about somebody that's still active and employed in your locker room as a coach, there are issues. But I like what I see with Buffalo. I don't know if they can beat Kansas City. I think they will. My gut feeling, they lost a linebacker yesterday. I worry about that, J-Mack. I kind of like him against Kansas City. I do.

I think this is the most vulnerable Kansas City has been. I think Miami was a perfect team for the Chiefs to play in minus 27 degrees. So that was a perfect setup. I don't think going to Buffalo is a perfect setup. I think it's a tough, tough task for Mahomes and an offense that has struggled to put big games together. Yeah, it should be a good one. I'm on KC here. I think we'll be going head to head. It should be a fun one. I'm just curious how this KC defense shows up against a Buffalo team. You don't really know what's coming.

Is it the receivers? The tight ends? Is it going to be cook? You got to defend Josh Allen. Kind of trust Steve Spagnolo here to dial up something good for Casey. Yeah, I mean, I'm going to talk about Mike Tomlin and the Steelers next. It was, again, everybody, you're going to lose playoff games, right? Somebody's got to lose. But the Siriani thing, if you sort of look at, remember, the press conference was horrid before he relinquished play calling it was bad in Philly

then he gets saved by the shield Stuyken who leaves and crushes it in Indy and then the further away he was the worse it got like there there is an absolute you can absolutely find an individual a singular person that was a shield for a coach

that appears to be young a bit juvenile and in Philadelphia you can hide some of that stuff in Carolina and Tampa, you can't hide it in Philadelphia. It's a major media market. It's a Blue Blood franchise. All eyes on Philadelphia. The media in Philly is tough and smart and relentless. And I just feel like this thing is gone. I don't think you can read. You can't bring it back. Yeah, probably not. You know, you're on to something with the announcer. Remember last night they were like, oh, Kelsey and Graham and Fletcher Cox, who knows what the future holds. Kelsey, you know, basically retires right after the game. And you wonder what's going on in that locker.

room if guys were kind of checked out. They didn't look like they were locked in at all last night. If Tampa could have made catches, because Baker threw some beautiful balls that were dropped, that thing was over in the first quarter. Like it was, the perception was Philadelphia is hanging around. Not really. Have you seen a Super Bowl team fall that far that fast? I mean, Bradbury was all pro last year.

He couldn't tackle anybody last night. There is a, I don't know, a historical trend that the Super Bowl loser usually struggles. I don't know what it is. I don't memorize sports. It's called Google. I use that. But there is like some trend historically that when you lose the Super Bowl, that team often falls a little bit, sometimes off the cliff.

So it's not that strange. And again, Philadelphia won a lot of games this year. But what you watch the last six or seven weeks, you can't have that talent and those results. And again, remember when Brandon Staley said, we're not getting blown out? So it's like close losses, 10 point losses, and then a couple of these players didn't show up.

That thing could have last night been, it felt like 35, 6 at half if they could catch. A beat down. It was a beat down. So a lot of stuff today. Nick Wright, first, things first, co-host is going to be joining us next hour about 45 minutes away in our final herd hierarchy.

To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because. of crack. I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so y'all know. I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack. So I'm starting to see that there's a through line. We also have AIDS on the table right now. Thank you finishing that sentence. Yes.

I don't think there's a more important year for black people. Really? Yeah. For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history. I've had friends who have lived in St. Louis and Pittsburgh, and they always tell you, those are the two cities in America.

You go to a party on a Friday night and people ask, where'd you go to high school? I've been in L.A. eight years. Nobody's ever asked me that. It's okay. It's okay to be old school, love tradition. But this defense wins championship stuff's not working in Pittsburgh. Offense and scoring points wins. the Steelers last four playoff games.

Last four playoff games. This is how many points the Steelers have allowed before they scored their first points. 17, 28, 35, and 21. They're not competitive. Scoring points wins championships. Last year, Super Bowl, 38 to 35. The Steelers always get lauded for winning ugly. because that's the only way they can win.

Defensive coach, spend more money on defense, drive more defense, defensive culture. They've had a bottom 10 offense the last five years, and that's with great receiving talent. An excellent tight end. Two very good backs this year. O-line, I thought this year, played pretty well. The Steelers need to look in the mirror,

or maybe just Mike Tomlin. There's two things in modern football you have to get right in the NFL. quarterback and offensive coordinator. I'll repeat, quarterback and offensive coordinator. You don't have to have an offensive head coach, but you better have somebody smart coordinating, and the Steelers are lousy at both. The last offensive coordinator they had that we liked was Bruce Ariens in 2011.

It took them this year. This is how tone-deaf they are in offense. It took them until week 16 this year. To discover, our third-string quarterback is our best quarterback. Yikes. I mean, Kenny Pickett has 24 starts as a pro and 13 touchdown passes. Again, excellent, tight end. Two excellent receivers.

Viable running backs. And the O-line had a good year. If Mike Tomlin can't solve those or can't see them, you got an issue. But this, spend more money on defense. Defense wins championship. Tough guy stuff. It's not working. It's just not working.

By the way, you can retain Mike. It's not the only problem. There's things he does very well. Right? The culture, the toughness. I like that stuff. But they got to get quarterback and offensive coordinator right, and they have, and it feels like, in a decade and a half,

had both simultaneously. Again, Big Ben Ariens, 2011. But, I mean, Philadelphia moved off Andy Reid, Belichick got moved off in New England. San Francisco moved off Harbournes. You know, Philadelphia succeeded post-Andy. Niners have succeeded post-Harbaugh. I mean, it's not the end of the world.

But the whole feel of Pittsburgh, it feels like going to a party and people ask, where'd you go to high school? Like, it's 2023. Get the coordinator right. Be creative. A lot of motion. Watch the Rams. Watch San Francisco. Watch Green Bay.

Here's the coach after. I'm appreciative of the efforts, but it's not mystical. We didn't do what was required to win tonight. We didn't take care of the ball. Can't come into an environment like this versus a playoff caliber team and turn the ball over like that and expect to be competitive. Mike, you have a year left on your contract. He's not even going to answer that question.

Again, you want to retain Mike? I'm okay with it. I think he brings a lot to the table. think he would get a network job tomorrow. I think he could solve a lot of problems. I think Mike Tomlin of Pittsburgh. Chargers, I don't have a problem with any of it. But Pittsburgh now, get the coordinator.

Get a quarterback. You're quarterback, you don't have him. You don't have him. You've got to draft another or pay for another. You're going to have to scale back on what you're paying defensive players. Put your money like the chiefs on offense. Maybe one great pass rusher and offense. J-Mack with the news.

No, no, no, no. Turn on the news. This is the herd line news. Let me float you a potential Tomlin solution. So he's got one year left on his deal. You know what? I think I want to step away from football for a year. I'm not going to coach.

I'm going to go to the booth. And then he gets to come out essentially a free agent, right? The year after? Yeah. You're not going anywhere with Mason Rudolph, Kenny Pickett, or Mitch Trubiskey. We know that. So first of all, this idea that it's an indictment that Sean Payton basically said, I'm going to take a year off.

I think Sean, my take is, Sean Payton shouldn't have taken the Denver job. I think he should have stayed at Fox for one more year. Because there's seven new job openings every year. This year, you'd have, you know, the charger opening. And so my take is, is this idea that Mike didn't succeed. He's got a trophy. We're not debating that. But there are moments, basically, what happened in New Orleans is Sean Payton looked at his quarterbacks

and said, yeah, I can win kind of nine and eight, eight and nine, but you can't win with the current, and Pittsburgh's too good. Now, could you make an argument, you go give up an elite defensive player and a couple first to get a quarterback. To me, I don't know who that quarterback. That's the problem. Like, there's no quarterbacks out there. And even if Tomlin isn't going to be a free agent, you got to trade them, you trade.

Like, Tomlin's got to seek somewhere else. Colin, Mason Rudolph is very limited. And can he pick an eight guy? No, no, those guys aren't. So, like, what are we doing in the AFC next year? Remember, Burroughs back. Like, CJ Stroud looks like a superstar. Trevor Lawrence ain't getting worse.

Aaron Rogers back. I always say, guys are good starting things. We're not good with exits. Guys aren't good. You know, guys break up poorly. We got a great opening line. We break up poorly. Our country start wars.

We never get out of them. How do you end stuff? It's tough for guys to go. Like, Sean Payton did it. Like, I'm out. Perfect. I just thought Sean probably went to the wrong space too quickly. He was doing great here.

Tomlin would have multiple. networks. You don't think Tomlin on a Fox, CBS, NBC wouldn't be the star on any network. Like to me, take a deep breath. It's not an indictment. What he provides is needed. There's 10 teams in the league that would use him. I mean, Dallas, couldn't you argue with Dallas? The primary problem with Dallas, we can talk about Dak McCarthy, is when you watch them get pushed around by San Francisco and Buffalo and Green Bay, they're not consistent. consistently physical. You don't get a consistent effort. Pittsburgh gives you the consistent effort. They're just not good at quarterback. When you get a Tomlin team, you get a consistent toughness and effort. That's as much the Dallas problem as Dax's inaccuracy. And by the way, you want to see how Mike Tomlin's value. He steps away, goes to the booth, whatever. This team probably wins like five games next year. Like that's his value for that team with no quarterback. They're falling off a cliff. All right, let's go to a team falling off a cliff. The Dallas Cowell is. Cowboys, brutal loss to the Packers.

Jerry Jones was in shock. He spoke to the team. I'm sure a lot of owners speak to teams after playoff losses. It was behind closed doors. And later on, talk to the media, quarterback Jordan Lewis summarized what Jerry Jones had to say.

We got to win. This Dallas Cowboys, man. We had everything to win, so we can't let this feeling keep going on. So I just feel like he just, he wants to win right now. The urgency is now. I mean, it was always that.

We always had that on our shoulders. But, you know, he made it, clear that that was the point. Yeah. It's just, it's not healthy, Colin. It's not a good environment. When the owner is talking to the media, then the owner's talking to the team, where else does this happen? Well, I said that, this idea

that Dallas is a great job. First of all, there are no perfect jobs in the NFL. I would say when you can get like a stand cronky with the Rams who is wealthy, we'll spend money and doesn't meddle. That's about as good as it gets. Most of the guys are going to meddle a little bit.

But the truth is with Dallas, If Jerry believes DAC is elite, he does, and is willing to pay him like Mahomes, he will. This is not as good a job as you think. You are working uphill on a salary cap issue. Dax cap hit next year's $54 million. They'll restructure that. You have to. And until Jerry comes to terms with, I'm going to let the football guys, because I'm not anti-Dak.

I'm not anti-Kirk cousins. But these have to be appropriate. This is a salary, hard-cap league. Are you of the belief that Dallas is a better job or Philadelphia? Philadelphia. Philadelphia. Absolutely Philadelphia. You're bagging on that. Did you see how much money they gave Jalen Hertz last year?

But I've seen Jalen.L. I've seen Jailen Hertz get to a Super Bowl. Okay, one season. He was not great this year. I'll take one Super Bowl from Dak. And he was hurt all year and went toe to toe with Mahomes. Okay, and now A.J. Brown is hanging out in Atlantic City instead of being with the team. So you saw what the offense look like without A.J. Brown.

It's like Devante Smith and what? Because you pay Jalen Hertz a ton of money. I have a great, not a good GM, but a great GM in Philly. I have a winning culture. I have toughness. I have one of the smartest owners that doesn't meddle. And Jalen Hertz is expensive, but he's also in his athletic prime. Well, he didn't look athletic.

I mean, maybe the injury is fine. He's going to be healthy. Look at his age. He is in his athletic prime. Dack post injuries doesn't run like he used to. He's not. He's going to be runner up for MVP. Let's not act like he has.

He was great this year. I'll just say this about Philly. Let's see what happens following Kelsey. How many dominoes fall on the retirement edge? Because you could be looking at two starters on defense. Letcher Cox, man. Brandon Graham, and then, you know, that secondary got old fast. No, no, no.

Listen, they have to make some moves on this. They have to get younger. I know people want to bag on Jerry, and that's fine. I think that's a big negative for Dallas. But you compare those rosters, and I'm pretty sure Dallas has more all-around talent. They had nine all-pros on that team. Yeah.

within a year, you're going to have to pay $100 million plus for three cowboys, Micah, DAC, and CD Lamb. That's not ideal. I think a good GM. Jerry, of course, can figure that out. Next up, Tua Tong of Aloha and the Dolphins. Tua's another guy looking for big money. He's now headed into the final year of his rookie contract.

Miami has the decision to make Colin. We saw what Packers did with Jordan Love, right? Remember, there's a little different that two has played now. We got a large sample size. Well, Dolphins' GM Chris Greer had this to say about Tua's future in Miami. The goal is to have him here long-term playing at a high level. So, you know, that's always the goal. And we'll continue and we'll communicate with him through the off-season here.

And like we've always said in the past, you know, you guys know me. We don't really talk in the media through all that stuff. So we'll just keep all those talks internal and with his rep reps. This off-season is going to be so good, Cowherd, from the coaching searches to the quarterbacks. Just Tuas contract yearly start with a four. I could not go there. How about this? Well, then I need to hear an alternative option if you aren't going to go to four.

No, but what's interesting, and Ethan Strauss put this out on his site in his podcast, he talked about it. The AFC, most of the good teams and good rosters for the foreseeable future, they're cold weather cities. This is what December, January is going to look like. Yeah. Buffalo, Josh Allen's not going anywhere. Kansas City, Joe Burrow and Cincinnati. If Pestburg just got the quarterback right, I mean, you have a lot of cold weather organizations.

Yeah. And it's like, so Miami has to host playoff games to avoid this. They were close. Listen, they had it. They just had to beat the bills, right? That's right. So if their defense hadn't fallen apart in the last month, they could have been. So I wouldn't move off to, but you have to own what to is.

And I think here's an example. Could you draft another quarter? This sounds bizarre, but you and I are both under the impression. Every team should draft a quarterback every year. If you had a second quarterback in this organization, and you drafted one every other year, that you knew in cold weather situations, he was a viable backup.

He's not your starter, and he's not as good as Tua. But I felt like literally Tua, if you watched the way the Dolphins coached him in Kansas City, they knew he couldn't compete in that weather. is that Tua is a weak-armed smaller quarterback. You draft a kid from a cold-weather place that's got an arm. He's a fifth-round quarterback, and you have him in the stable, and it sounds crazy. You got a cold-weather emergency crew.

I'm just saying, well, everybody's got a backup. I think that's created as hell. Rams went and got Carson Wentz. Why? He plays like Matt Stafford. If you have Kyler Murray, have an athletic backup that plays like Kyler Murray. But, I mean, like, Tua is too good to just say, he's gone, because I saw Dolphins after Dan Marino's struggle for 20 years of

quarterback. So there's value to Tua, but you have to own what he is. He doesn't have the arm to go up to a cold weather game, and his ball does not slice through weather. So Michael Pennix played in the Big Ten at Indiana. Michael Pennix played in the northwest, Washington. They're too good to get him.

I don't, I had Daniel Jeremiah on my podcast. It doesn't sound like Pennix is going as high as everybody thinks. Could he fall to 22? Miami picket 22? Do you go with a quarterback? I think there's two of things going to be real. Because the big knock was, well, he couldn't stay healthy last year.

Well, he was healthy this entire season. By the way, top top 10 quarterback stat by like every stat minute. I mean, he goes a better ball than Dak. I mean, we all bang on, you know, to, listen, you just have to own what he is. Listen, a lot of people have a convertible sports car. They don't bring it out in December, January, February. He's got a little convertible sports car. Warm weather, fall, summer, he's perfect.

So Miami's fake tans and convertibles, got it. Okay. Final story is the Eagles and Kelsey. Obviously they lost again last night. Kelsey crying on the sideline. And he told his teammates after the game, according to every reporter on planet Earth, that he is retiring after 13 seasons in Philadelphia.

He wasted no time here to basically tell everybody right after the game. There was no like, I'm going to give it some thought. It's over. He's going to go, I guess, be a podcaster now. There's been two or three centers in my entire life that, made news as Interior O' lineman. Mike Webster in Pittsburgh. Oh, yeah, he was good.

Jim Otto with the Raiders fell apart physically. And Kelsey. Like they were talked about on the broadcast regularly as centers. I mean, ask yourself this. I feel like Madden and Summerall had a center they loved. I'm sure they did. But I would say this. How many Interior linemen become highly engaging personalities?

Not many. His brother and him, and he's the funny one, have one of the great podcasts out there. He's a real personality, and I think you could argue he is the soul of this team. He probably does more than just podcasts. He could show up at a media network tomorrow and be an interesting... No, he's a smart guy. He's got a great sense of humor.

He's played. Those interior linemen are thinkers. They're not out there just having a good time. Those guys are the generals in that battalion. So he is a sharp cat that knows his stuff. Do you remember when the Went stuff ended with Peterson? like really bad. And then afterward, a bunch of stories came out.

I wonder if Kelsey will start alluding to stuff on his podcast. Because, Colin, we both know something had to have happened in that locker room. Something went down. I don't know if it's involving Hertz or A.J. Brown or who. Or the defense or Matt Patricia. Because remember, Matt Patricia really made things

toxic in Detroit. Took away the team's ping pong table. They're like, dude, what's wrong with you? Like, something happened in that locker room. We just don't know about it yet. It's going to be awesome offseason ahead. Really exciting stuff. I hope football never ends. I don't think it will in our time. No, I mean like this year

If you're not featured in the promo, you can't be the MVP. He's now featured. Yeah, but your eyes naturally go to the left, and Jordan Love is featured to the left. Are we going to hear that all week? Jordan loves a better quarterback in this game? Well, Jordan loves a more talented quarterback, by far. By far, more talented.

Bigger, more athletic, better all. arm, like by far. Really? I think it's amazing. The Packers are being so disrespected. They're being given the Steelers line in Buffalo. The Packers are so disrespected. Buffalo was 9.5.10, right?

With Mason Rudolph in Buffalo. And that was a reasonable line. You're going to give a team that just shelled Dallas, 27-0. You're going to give them 9.5 points. That is so disrespectful to Greenback. Isn't it disrespectful to Purdy who led the league in every passing category that he's not a better quarterback? He's the second most talented quarterback in this game by a stretch. That's your hottest take of the week so far, and we're on Tuesday.

That is one of the most disrespectful lines I've seen all season. You're basically saying this is Mason Rudolph against the bills. Nine and a half. Give me a break. That's what you give. I'm going to ask Fox to pay me early so I can put my money on the 49ers. The Dolphins with a warm weather quarterback against Mahomes, Andy Reed, Spaggs, Chris Jones, all that. The line started minus one and a half, moved up to four.

That line is like, did anybody watch Green Bay in the last eight weeks? They're going to score 26 points. They're going to score. I don't think it's a hot take. I don't think this one is either. I like Baker Mayfield. I know. I don't hold grudges.

this before. Holding grudges is like chain-smoking hate. Hurt's you, not the person. Baker-Mayfield in Cleveland, number one pick, a lot of pressure, got to face the Steelers twice a year, Joe Burrow twice a year, the Ravens twice a year, major expectations. I thought he was overwhelmed, not quite mature enough. But Baker Mayfield in Tampa, a one-year contract, $4 million with bonuses, low expectations, sleepy division. Hey, Tampa's glad to have him. We just had Tom.

It's perfect. For young people, fit matters. Environment matters. Cleveland was a lot of noise and a lot of pressure. He was a savior. In Tampa, it's like, dude, Tom got us a trophy. Let's see how Baker does. It's a totally different vibe.

I'll say it again. I have absolutely no. No problem. Tampa Bay saying, we're not going to go with a young quarterback in the draft. We're going to go with Baker, set a three, four-year deal. I don't want to pay him $30 million, but I got no problem with it. He's the best quarterback in that division. He's a better thrower of the football, and I think willing to throw it down field more consistently than Derek Carr. So Seattle, we like the redemption story of Gino Smith.

I think Baker is better than Gino Smith. I don't know how much better, but I think he is. Better throw over the football. So Tampa's totally different. You can hide in Tampa. The media, what there is of it, is chill. The fan base, just happy to be here. They're going to Ebor City pregame and post game.

They're there for a good time in Tampa. I used to work there. It's not Philadelphia. It's not Baltimore. It's not Pittsburgh. The weather's always nice. The drinks are always flowing. They're happy to be there.

I think he works. I'd sign him. I like it. It's a very cool redemption story, and here's Baker after. There's something about whether you're an underdog or a road game, just having your backs against the wall and knowing it's just your team versus everybody else when you're counted out. It's always fun to be in that role. Obviously, I'm pretty comfortable in it, but our team has completely embraced that throughout the year.

I really like the story. From semi-bust to Bucks, I'm here for it. So this was announced. J. Mack had talked to me during the break. It's weird that it got out, but maybe somebody's agent wanted it out. The Falcons announced they interviewed Bill Belichick. Zoom call. I don't know. I think Belichick is a very good candidate if he's just head coach.

The Bill GM head coach role, hard pass. last seven drafts in New England, which he controlled, two pro bowlers, two pro bowlers. One was a punter. The other's Mack Jones. It's why the Philadelphia job is intriguing. Howie Roseman's the general manager. He's been there 24 years. Belichick Kent Bulliam.

Howie Roseman's a two-time NFL exec of the year. He's got a little rain man guru, Svengali quality, a mile deep on analytics, a mile deep on personnel. He can look Belichick in the eye and say, Bill, I built a roster to beat you in Brady with Nick Foles at quarterback. He can say, Bill, I built a roster that got to the Super Bowl

and a play from winning with Nick Seriani as head coach. Howie Roseman's not getting bullied by Bill Belichick. if Bill is just a coach I'm very very interested in Philadelphia but again his last seven drafts have been embarrassing slowest team in the league took two kickers and three guards last year two pro bowlers last seven drafts one's a punter the other Mac Jones

who may try being a punter that may work better but again he's a viable candidate I would take Tomlin over him I think Tomlin's better with players. I take Vrable over him. I would take Harbaugh over him. I take Ben Johnson over him. But again, just the coach.

Yeah, yeah. Atlanta makes sense. I have my theories on what Atlanta should do in the draft. I would call the Chargers flip spaces with the Chargers in Atlanta and make it happen. I think the Chargers are looking for more picks. They've got to move off some players due to salary cap issues. and I think Atlanta needs a quarterback and needs to get up to that five spot. So I think it's in play.

But the idea that Belichick can't coach, you know, we've said Philadelphia works because Philadelphia's primary issue is the back end of their defense. Belichick's the best ever at it. That's what Belichick can solve corners and safeties and linebackers. Those positions, he is great in the draft. Great at drafting, developing. He's patient, thoughtful. So that's where we are today. Now, J-MAC's theory on this whole thing is that the Cowboys have to maneuver fast because Philadelphia,

because your take is Philadelphia is moving off Siriani fast, meaning they'll get a lead on the Belichick Harbaugh, or whoever the big names are, right? Well, Harbaugh talked to the Chargers, interview with the Chargers, right? Falcons are now out there. Hey, we talk to Belichick. We'll see. Listen, remember, Siriani lost both coordinators, and they let him bring in whoever he thought or promote whoever he thought. Both those 0 for two.

You don't let him bring in two new coordinators again. And remember, Hertz is tight with the O.C. Brian Johnson dating back over a decade. It's all bad for Siriani. It just feels like, I don't see how he survives it. I was going to wager you maybe a slice of pizza, not a whole pizza. Now, that McCarthy's gone by the end of this show. What? That would be my guess. I think it's going to happen

quick. What do you waste of time for? Do you think McCarthy's done before the end of our show? You know Jerry's already downloaded DAC and everybody else. out Micah Parsons. What happened?
