We said before the weekend an oil leak would begin this weekend with the Dallas Cowboys. My bad, it was a gusher. J. Mack, there are a lot of things going on this weekend. The Dodgers have decided they're not going to allow any more scoring the rest of the playoffs. That's insane. Do you have a good weekend?

College football was incredible on Saturday. Phenomenal weekend. All right. Jerry Jones, on his birthday, that was, believe it or not. the worst home loss of his career on his 82nd birthday. That's saying a lot because Jerry's first year owning the Cowboys was 1989 and they were one in 15 and they finished in fifth place in the NFC East. You can't even do that. There is no fifth place in the NFC East. And they were terrible.

And that yesterday was a worst home loss. They may be shrewd doing business off the field, but they were shameful on the field. The NFL has gotten smarter over the last decade, more good coaches, more sharp executives, and the Cowboys along that same timeline have become much more insular. The only team in the NFL with an 82-year-old GM, wink, wink. And he's not firing Mike McCarthy. He's not going to do that. We'll get to that in a second, but that's not going to work.

The Detroit Lions, though, yesterday, were everything the Cowboys want to be. Deep, tough, clever. ever, fun, capable at quarterback. Nobody's massively overpaid. In fact, I'd argue many of their best players are right now under market value. They were everything the Cowboys want to be. In fact, their O-line, the Lions O-line had two touches and a target. I'm not like talking about falling on a fumble.

These were intentional. They were going to embarrass the Cowboys. It was like the Chiefs against. the Saints. They were messing around flexing for the TV audience after that cowboy win shouldn't have over Detroit last December. So, I mean,

what you were watching was embarrassing. That was embarrassing. And I said it going into the season. I can't take the Cowboys seriously. If we can't take a team seriously with an 82-year-old owner slash GM, too many Jones is in the front office.

You need outside influence and eyeballs and voices. They're not a Super Bowl team. They're not close to it. And the truth is, oh, they won 12 games. The last two years, previous to this one, the NFC's been down. Green Bay got rid of Aaron Rogers in a very quick rebuild with a young quarterback. And the Lions were good for a couple years. But now all those young players are no longer young. The Niners ended up finding Brock Purdy, who just keeps getting better. You start looking at Washington now is a real football team. Uh-oh, Minnesota. Chicago got Caleb Williams. It was there

for the taking the last two years in the NFC. It was there. The Rams were rebuilding. The Packers were too young. You know, Chicago didn't have the quarterback. Minnesota was trying to draft the quarterback. Now the NFC at the top can play with the AFC.

And Dallas won 12 games, but the more Jerry dabbles in football, the Saturday January becomes for Dallas. You can't be an owner-slash-GM. that's just not the way it works. Jerry's running the franchise the way he wants to, not the way it should be run. The way it should be run is San Francisco

so you can find Brock Purdy with the last pick or in Philadelphia where they have a loaded roster and yet always have money to spend. That's the way it should be run. Or like Kansas City or Baltimore. Why has Baltimore always have so many good players that they can move off great ones and the next year they're just fine?

Dallas right now, hey, hey, Dak got the bag, and Cowboy fans are left holding it. Here was Jerry on testy Te-Tate with the media

in regards to potentially replacing Mike McCarthy. Would it take you to a value of making a head coaching change in season? Oh, I haven't considered that. I'm not considering that. Just so you're clear. I'm not considering that.

But you've done it. I wouldn't be a happy. apathetical in that matter. Do you think I'm an idiot? Do you? Now let's move to a brighter conversation. I know, I know. I know. The bears are just beating bad teams. Yeah, they're kind of thumping them. I know they've just beaten the Titans, Carolina, a short-handed L.A. Ram team, and the dysfunctional Jags. Okay, you could say that. but for the first time, and I'm not joking, in my life, I look at the bears and I say, man, what a deep, talented offensive roster.

What a stud they have at quarterback for the next 15 years. Yet that I've never said in my life. Three receivers I like, Keenan Allen came back, an excellent tight end, a clever running back. The O-line's fine. It's not Detroit or Atlanta, but it's fine. And Caleb Williams, are getting better every week. I mean, he's gone from kind of frenetic to foundational. If you go back, our guys did this morning, and I'm sorry to the radio audience,

but Caleb Williams, if you go week one, his passer rating was 55, two weeks later it was 80, a week after that it was 106, a week after that it was 126, and it looks like this week at 124, he's found his footing. Reckless to in control. Questions to confident. In fact, my biggest concern seriously for the Chicago Bears, I bet it's theirs. It's not the Bears, it's the division.

Minnesota looks like they could hoist a trophy. Green Bay is just, now that Jordan loves ready to roll, that was our pick of the weekend. I mean, that game was over in 10 minutes with Arizona. I mean, Detroit has the best offensive line, two capable running backs, a star receiver, a coach and Dan Campbell, the team loves. Jared Goff's been to Super Bowls. Like, I think Chicago's, for years and years, Chicago's biggest liability, was the Bears, their ownership, their front office, their coaches.

I mean, even Matt Eber Fluse, you can bang on him all you want. But he's good on his side of the ball. At least he knows his side of the ball. Go look at Dennis Allen with the Saints. He can't even get the defensive side right. He's a defensive coach. So, I mean, I look around. They have the franchise quarterback.

They run, I mean, seriously, this sounds embarrassing. They run a modern offense. They've got multiple weapons. Some of them, young, going to be around a while. They made a smart move to get DJ more, and they nailed the quarterback pick. For the record, this is what the good teams in the AFC did. Baltimore got their quarterback right. Kansas City got their quarterback right.

Buffalo got their quarterback right. Houston got their quarterback right. You get that right. Folks, you could miss on a coach. You got to get the quarterback right. I don't think there's any question when you launch those weapons. He got to give their GM credit to, Ryan Poles, is a guy, he's a former offensive lineman, and he has spent the money.

This forever was a defensive culture like Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh still can't get out of its own way. It spends all its money on defense. Ryan Poles came out and said, no, no, no, no, no, no. We're going to spend our money on offense. That's where the league's going. And he was right. And they get DJ Moore, and they get Keenan Allen, and his second tied end,

and Swift the running back. Like, this is a really big-time offensive group. You insert Keenan Allen into this thing. Roma Dunzee, DJ Moore, Cole Commet, Swift, Keenan Allen's like, whoa, they got dudes everywhere. It is for real. You can open up the entire playbook because Caleb is so electric, so dynamic. But the difference is he's not a guy that can't throw from the pocket.

He did that at USC. What did we say coming into the season? He can be a little bit. You've got to sometimes rain him in because he's so gifted. Lamar Jackson faced this first couple years, so gifted that his natural inclination if the first receiver's not open is to take off and run. But on multiple times yesterday in London, and I hope you noticed this, I'm sure you did. Did you watch Caleb on multiple times? Look left, look middle, look right, look back left.

That's a franchise quarterback. Looked all over the field, trying to find the right guy. He threw to the fourth or third option multiple times. a lot of great athletic quarterbacks. First one's not open as rookies. They're off to the races. And he now, over the four or five weeks, he was in the first couple of weeks. Here we are in week five.

Here comes week six. You got yourself a stud, and here's Caleb after. You know, we got to keep getting better. I can't turn the ball over, like down in a wide open. Touchdown to DJ. You know, a few things that are going on throughout the game, you know, that I got to be better at. But I think the progress that we've had is going to keep growing. I think we have great leaders and a great personality to this team that I've talked about many times.

And so I think all that's going to keep growing. I think we've got to keep going. Yeah, how about that division? Vikings, Packers, Lions, Bears. When's the last time you had a division? I can't think of it. When is the last time that you had a division with four of the top eight offensive teams in the league? I mean, that is crazy.

That is not only the best division in football, it is the best division in football by a mile. It's incredible how good. Jordan Love, Caleb, Sam Darnel, J.J. McCarthy behind him, and Jared Gough. And by the way, the best offensive line in Detroit. I would say Green Bay and Chicago and Minnesota have some of the best tight-end wide receiver groupings in the league. So I think the bear's biggest adversary.

isn't themselves. I don't think it for the first time ever offensively, it's not them or their ownership. It's like a real division. By the way, the NFC North has the four best point differentials in the league. All four, bears, lions, Vikings Packers,

the four best point differentials in the league. They're all in one division. It's like the SEC on steroids. I mean, it's crazy how good it is. J. Mack, meanwhile, in Philadelphia, What a circus that organization is. That's your guy, Nick Siriani.

So a stayaway game for me, whenever I look at odds going into a weekend, whatever the biggest spread is, I just get it out. Not that it's a sucker bet, but Philadelphia was like an eight, eight and a half point favorite over dreadful Cleveland. Their shot, the coach doesn't like the quarterback, but he has to take the sword for the owner who guaranteed the deal. It's a mess of an organization with a really good coach, and I think a pretty sharp GM. And so I stayed away because I don't trust Philadelphia.

I've said I think their coach is over his new unshaven head. That was a, if there's such thing as a bad win in the NFL, that was it. Cleveland's awful. Siriani at one point is jousting with the home fans. And this remains a confounding stat you should absolutely be terrified if you're an Eagles fan. Off a by with an offensive coach. First two series. Jalen Hertz, 0 for five, two punts.

They had both their receivers back. Sequin Barclays a stud. Offensive lines good enough. Lane Johnson said our offense is constipated. But you're at home, a terrible team, offensive coach, off a by, a reeling team, both your star receivers back. And your first two drives, that's where coaches, offensive coaches off a buy. Like, by the way, Sean McVeigh is off a by this week against the Raiders,

take Sean McVeigh. Like, take offensive coaches off by, especially when they're off a buy at home against a reeling team with a bad mojo in Cleveland. And they couldn't muster with both A.J. Brown, DeVante Smithback, first two drives over five, Jalen Hertz. those are scripted plays. He's over his skis. I don't know what to tell you.

They're great at running back. They're excellent at wide receiver. They're always good at tight end. The O-line's top ten. Offensive coach. So they don't have a Carolina issue where the roster is bad, or a cowboy issue upstairs is bad.

I mean, they're three and two completely on how talented their roster is. And they've done it with some injuries. There's a Super Bowl roster and Nick Sariani after jousting with home fans, when everybody knows there's been this question about his maturity, and he brought his three kids to the press conference after to be a bit of a buffer against the usually relentless Philadelphia press.

We thrive off the crowd when they cheer for us. That's all I'll say. When our crowd cheers for us, we thrive off them. And we hear them when they boo. We don't necessarily like it. I don't think that's productive for anybody, but, you know, when they cheer for us and when we got them rolling, you know, we love it. I don't want to make this personal, but Siriani reminds me, you know, I think he thinks he's a certain level of IQ, but he reminds me of a crypto, bro, but the crash is coming. Like, no, you can't do that?

Like, coaches, can you just say this out loud? Can you imagine Andy Reed jousting regularly with fans? Oyo, yoy. J. Mack with the news. No, no, no, no. Turn on the news. This is the herd line news. We were super stoked for Ravens Commanders on Sunday.

They called it the Beltway Bowl, and it was pretty good. Lamar had another fantastic game. 20 and 26 for 323 yards. Derek Henry, though, was a beast on the ground, 132 yards rushing on 23 carries. After the game, Derek Henry said defenses have to pick they're poison. I felt like everything was working. It's kind of like pick your poison.

Everybody did a great job, being locked in and executing. They'll just hats off everybody on offense. They'll put them plays together and be able to feel in his drives to put ourselves in a position to warn him. Lamar right now would be the MVP of the league. Oh, come on, he would

be. He's been absolutely electric. And again, when you got the quarterback right, oh, they have three new offensive linemen. No. No factor whatsoever. Great quarterbacks or erasers. Here's the other thing about, Jaden Daniels. I mean, I watched that game in my take is Washington is going to be Baltimore in about two years.

I think they are. I think they're not there yet. They're like, they're like, Washington is like the youthful version of Baltimore. They just need seasoning. But they are, they're not a fluke. That's a real team. I've watched Baltimore blow out buffaloes and Dallas's. Washington's a playoff team.

That is a good football team. I don't disagree. I mean, they were missing Brian Robinson, the running back, who's very good. Excellent. And without him, they had like no run game. That's right. A lot of pressure on Dayton's arguably right now. Kansas City, we called number one.

But on any given Sunday, Jay Mack, you would agree with this. On any given Sunday, Baltimore can be the best team in the league. We've seen them house people this year. Okay, I'll give you that. And Washington was there for the taking. They're on a roll. They're very young. They're missing.

And they hung with them. It's a good game. Yeah, listen, Raven's nearly 500 yards of offense. They've rushed for 150 or more in every game. And they have, I mean, the numbers for their rushing are dominant throughout the league. I think we have a full screen of it. Basically, Baltimore, when they want to run with Henry and Lamar, it's deadly. Look at that.

Rushing yards per game, over 200. Yeah, it is the way. They are built the way you can beat Josh Allen or Mahomes. Which is keep them off the field. Let me just briefly push back against Ravens' best team in the league. Here are their four wins. They beat Dallas. I don't know that Dallas is a dumpster fire, but we would agree Dallas is not a top eight team in the NFC.

Okay. They beat Buffalo. It was a great spot. They didn't just beat them. They pulled them. They destroyed them. I'll ask you, is Buffalo good? And then you'll answer.

Well, but it's the way they beat them. Okay. They crushed Buffalo. Then they beat Cincinnati in a game. They kind of got lucky to come back. Cincinnati's a two-win team. And then they beat the hottest team in the league outside of Minnesota, Washington. Washington, which has no defense.

Well, whatever. They were smoking. smoking everybody. They were. They were smoking bad teams. This team's not going away. My take is they're going to beat Tampa. Are they? Yeah. You think you could just go into Tampa and get a dub? Well, it won't be easy. Bakers. They just dropped a 50 burger on the same thing. I know. Listen, I'm not a total believer in the Ravens yet as a Super Bowl contender. Colin, we've seen this regular season show before. They dominate. And then what happens in the playoffs? So I'm just going to preach a little bit of caution. I know

You're very excited on a Monday. No, I said, on any Sunday, my favorite team to watch in the league is the Ravens. I love Lamar. I love their movement. I love their... I just like everything about him. I don't know. I would go lions, given...

By the way, lions are fun, too. They now, like, they do a trick player two a week. I mean, they were... Yeah. It was... Lions were awesome. That was so fun. All right, let's go to college football column.

Listen, this was the greatest Saturday of the season, and it did not disappoint. Texas destroyed Oklahoma. Easy winner for everybody who backed him. Oregon beat Ohio State, and I'm sure we're going to do some stuff on this. I'll, I said it on my podcast. I walked away from this. Ohio State's still the better team. I did not think Oregon was amazing.

I said all summer long, Oregon's going to beat them here, and then Ohio State's going to meet Oregon again in the final four and beat them. First of all, Will Howard played well. They ran the ball. Their two receivers were great. Now, I am concerned that in these big games, over the in the Ryan Day era. No, I mean, it's serious.

Something's going on. They're not very good defensively. Georgia gashed them. Michigan would take over the second half. I don't love what I see with their defense, but I think Chip Kelly bringing in, elevates the run game. I think nobody in the country,

except maybe Texas would have won that game. Nobody. Well, that is... I mean, listen, you said Will Howard play good. That's an unforgivable sin to end the game. Colin, he's a college kid. you go to the transfer portal to get a veteran, a 22-year-old as opposed to like a sophomore. Colin, he's running, looking at the screen with the time.

All you got to do, slide, take the time out. I'm just telling you, Ohio State. I'm starting to think, Ohio State is the only team in the country. Because if that game was on a neutral field or in Columbus, Ohio State wins. By the way, the onside kick by Oregon, why don't more people do that? Just drill it right at the player. That was awesome. That was as good a television product.

That's great. I mean, you could not, that you could feel Eugene Oregon through the TV set. It was zany. There was another game. I think we probably should touch on it here. USC was dominating Penn State at halftime. I was right there with you. The second half did not go great for Lincoln Riley.

They're five and eight in their last 13. They have one usable running back, two playable tackles. And I got to tell you something. Yes, their defense is better. Who cares? It was the worst in the country last year. better. I think, um, I do think they'll be better next year because they're so young. They only lose two guys on their offense. Hold on. Is this loss on Lincoln Riley?

I, I don't think it is. Here's, well, okay, first of all, congrats to Penn State to ask a bunch of kids to travel 3,500 miles, go to overtime and execute. I thought their execution, the second half for Penn State was really good. They're, they're, that's, James Franklin should be proud. That's a good win for them. But. But Lincoln's now had three recruiting classes. They have one really good running back. They have two playable offensive tackles. Ohio State's got six.

And I'm not saying they're Ohio State or Texas, but I know what Sark's done in three or four years. I know what Lincoln's done. UFC didn't have enough good players. And it's a big brand, Southern California, too many kids in the state are leaving. Hold on. How do you go up 20, was it 23 or 26? How do you go if you don't have good players? No, no, no.

You script your way to a lead. the second half is on players. You can make adjustments, but at some point, depth, toughness, resiliency, the ability to playoff script. We know Franklin adjusted. I don't know the USC did. It's a tough one.

I'll just put this out there. Penn State will be hosting Ohio State November 2nd and Happy Valley. I was not impressed with Penn State. Ohio State's going to beat them sadly. Ohio State should win. It's probably going to be a whiteout. It's going to be a crazy game.

Circle that, November 2nd on the count right after Halloween. Final story, Colin. As you touched on this earlier, the NFC North is just cooking right now. Best division in football by a mile. Lions destroy the Cowboys. Packers whipped up on the Cardinals. Caleb Williams, four touchdowns. And of course, the Vikings undefeated coming off the by post-London.

Colin, their point differential this season. Everybody in the division is plus 40 or more. How's this stat? I haven't seen this on any other shows. This division, 18 and 4 against the spread. They are dominating teams, cooking Vegas. It is really interesting. Two games in that division this week I love.

Already? Look at you firing on Monday. My favorite bet of the week is the Rams off a buy. It was four and a half. Can I lock it in right now? You can do whatever you want. I want to lock the Rams in off a buy against the Raiders. It was minus four and a half last night.

It's now up to five. I'm going to lock that line in right now. That will be one of my blazing five picks. The Rams minus five. That line's going to go up to six and a half. Certainly. Yeah, Aiden O'Connell and the Raiders look bad. What was it?

What was the other one that you like? The New York Giants. Oh, come on. Malik neighbors coming back. Oh, is he definitely coming back, or is he going to another concert this week with the concussion? By the way, listen, anybody who's ever had a concussion, you see neighbors on the sideline before the game just on his phone? You're supposed to be off of a screen with a concussion.

I'm sorry to be dad and be nerdy about this. That's how you get better. It's a brain injury. It's a brain bruise. The doctors tell you, don't watch TV. Don't be on a screen. I don't think with a concussion I'd be out at concerts. I don't think I would.

I'm not crushing neighbors. People are saying, this is what you guys did to Odell. No, Odell Beckham did that stuff to himself. Hey, by the way, we weren't wrong on Odell. In the end, his immaturity has made his career forgettable the last six years. We weren't wrong on them. I can't believe you're backing them against the Eagles. I'm not.

Oh, I like. They're going to get Malik neighbors back. If there's one team, Nick Siriani murders, it is the New York Giants. They destroy that team, Gallant. I think they're pretty good. I think giants are... Really? I think when they have neighbors,

The Heard Line News. I would like to congratulate the New York Mets on a fine season. It's probably over because the Dodgers have decided they're not going to let anybody else score in the playoffs. Mookie Betts now, three RBIs last night. He's in a groove. They win the opening game against the Mets after shutting out the Padres, the last two games in the series.

Kiki Hernandez had a couple of hits. He's now hot. Freddie Freeman in the playoffs hitting over 350. This is the Dodgers philosophy, which has always been our talent over time will win. Now, the Mets number two starter is going today. Sean Mnayas. So this is, they got to win this thing and he's a good pitcher.

So, but what's fascinating about the Dodgers all season long, the question was they're pitching because they were all beat up. But now you've got Jack Flaherty, who's an L.A. kid, by the way, Yamamoto, they're both doing great. So if you look at the Dodgers, they've had 33 consecutive scoreless innings, and they've used 12 different pitchers, and they're doing it without an ace. I want you to think about this. The Dodgers are missing an entire rotation.

Bobby Miller, Shohei Otani, Tyler Glassnow, Dusty May, and Kirsha. They're missing all of that. It would be a rotation and a good one. And they're missing all of it. And they're throwing shut out, shut out, shut out, shut out. Against the Red Hot Padres, cooled them down. Red Hot Mets cooled them down. So they have a full rotation on the shelf.

Here's Dave Roberts after their win and the 33-inning scoreless streak for the opponents. I think it's just a collective effort. Certainly the players that were involved in all those scoreless innings have been fantastic. I think defensively, we've been very good defensively. I think the coaches have done a great job of relaying the information and making it tangible. The front office, just the information we get. So I just think that how we're preventing runs, it's a complete team effort.

Yeah. If you live in Los Angeles, the LA Times had an article about this during the season. The last two years, the Dodgers have done everything right. They can't keep pitchers healthy. And they go get Flaherty at the trade deadline from Detroit. L.A. kid, he's great. He's been fantastic. So they're figuring out ways to sort of patchwork this thing together.

It is remarkable because the Padres, at the end, Machado and Tattis, who were on fire in the end couldn't hit. So tip of the cap to an incredibly well-run organization. And this is like the Kansas City Chiefs winning a Super Bowl with no wide receivers the last couple of years. They have an entire staff on the shelf, and they keep throwing scoreless inning after scoreless inning. So I thought there was a moment this weekend.

So what's been cool about this season, I think you'd all agree, Chicago's got a quarterback, and Washington's got a quarterback. And I still think Michael, Pennix in Atlanta and J.J. McCarthy and Minnesota, they're going to hit. And Drake May will be fine. So the more great quarterbacks you have, the better football is. Nobody wants to watch Carolina. If Carolina had a great quarterback, they'd be a good watch. I mean, look at Brady and Tampa and Baker Mayfield in Tampa. I mean, you watch Tampa the last five years. It's like they're fun to watch. It's points everywhere. So I saw up this weekend, I watched all the games.

I think we have a number one pick in the NFL draft. I think a quarterback has separated from everybody else, and Dion Sanders will, should like our next segment. Coverage begins at 3 p.m. Eastern, noon Pacific on Fox and FS1. So, listen, just because you're the number one quarterback, C.J. Stroud's an example, doesn't mean you'll end up being the best quarterback. Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, out before, and people that were drafted off and ahead of them. But, you know, this next quarterback class is not great. Cam Ward feels a little small, don't always hear great things. Quinn Ewers is hurt again. I think Carson Beck has regressed when you take Brock Bowers, his tight end away from him.

I thought Schedur Sanders this weekend made a really strong case. That's the best quarterback and probably the number one pick. He had lost Travis Hunter, his best receiver in Jimmy Horton, Jr. He had no run game at all under duress against a very, very good Kansas State team. He was sacked six times, and they were driving for the win. He had almost 400 yards. He had four touchdowns. Again, they had no run game at all.

Kansas State's got better players. I mean, Travis Hunter and Shadour Sanders are probably the two best players in the game. Three through 15, it'd probably be a dozen Kansas State guys. So I just watched him this weekend, and my take was, if I had the number one pick in the draft and needed a quarterback, he was averaging almost 10 yards of completion, which when you're under duress and you're getting sacked and you have no run game against the best team in your conference,

I think Utah and Kansas State best team in that conference. I thought it was an impressive performance. he is what I called last week. He's an effortlessly accurate thrower of the football. You know he's athletic. That's, you know, he's beyond what you need there. But some guys, screens, seam routes, deep. Look at there.

He's running forward. No problem. When he moves left, when he moves right, it just doesn't matter. C.J. Stroud's got this. C.J. Stroud, that ball comes out. I mean, this is a great anything. It doesn't matter where he's asked to throw it. He can go over the top.

He can go underneath. He can be moving forward. He throws a beautiful. effortless, accurate ball, and he's got absolutely outstanding movement. So missing his top two receivers, I thought he was really good against Kansas State. 400 yards against Kansas State is something. Okay. So the Steelers won.

32-13, they beat the Raiders. And I don't mean to laugh, but something feels very inevitable going forward for the Pittsburgh Steelers. They're going to end up with a win. record, nine or ten wins, and they're going to convince themselves, Justin Fields is the future of this offense. I know, Steeler guy wakes up this morning, and he's like, we are something else. We're four and two. And a reminder, a week ago, at home, you scored 17 points against a cowboy defense that Detroit

could have scored 70, that Baltimore scored at will. that Green Bay last year scored at will. So, I mean, it's just sort of, I got to be honest, this is kind of what the Steelers are. 500 or better, beat the cruddy teams on their schedule, spend all their money on defense, and kind of middle of the packet quarterback. Justin Fields is athletic, but he's in the AFC.

He's in a division with Joe Burrell Lamar Jackson. Now, he's better than Deshaun Watson now, and much cheaper. but he's in a division with Joe Burrow, and you watch that run last night, you watch Burrow, a mobile guy that's incredibly accurate. Lamar's going to be the MVP of the league. There's Josh Allen, there's C.J. Stroud. Herbert now has a legitimate quarterback.

Like, the going is rough, and Justin Field is still better running than throwing. So they basically at home scored 17 points. In fact, they only have one touchdown all year that Justin Fields is not connected to. They have one running back touchdown. That is not good because they keep drafting offensive linemen. They've got good running game. Arthur Smith, it tends to be, it seems to me, as I've made Ryan Tannehill a number one seed in Tennessee.

So I think, you know, this is what they are. They're tough, they're physical, they spend money on defense. They'll end up, you know, they don't have a playoff win in seven years, and I don't think this team's going to beat anybody in the AFC in the playoffs, even if they get in at seven. Because right now I'd put them in at seven over Miami because of two is injury. and if you look at their schedule, they got a lot of ugly wins in it. I mean, that's what they do.

You start looking at it. I mean, you look at the schedule. That Jets team on a short week. You know, the New York Giants at home, they get a buy, you know, Washington, and it's Cleveland a couple of times. Philadelphia could have a new coach. I mean, who knows if Burrell plays at the last week of the season if they're already interim of home.

So here was Tomlin on the inevitable win over the rebuilding Raiders. winning is our business football is our game winning is our business we hadn't been handling business and so it's just good to get back to taking care of business this is a normal state for us it needs to be yeah i i've you know it's i thought the eagles it was a bad win and i think i think pittsburgh wasn't a bad win but it's how their wins are going to look and now give the organization to mike tomlin credit they moved off i mean they had a winning record they moved off can he pick it. Justin Field, a lot more talented than Kenny Pickett, but there's a little Fool's Goldhead

here. I mean, you watch Chicago's offense, and they had DJ Moore last year. They had Cole Comett last year. I mean, they had that offensive line in Chicago last year. Look at the consistency of the Chicago Bears offense. Yes, they added Keenan Allen, but he was just finally back. Roma Dunzee, he's a rookie. I mean, they had a lot of these offensive pieces last year, and a lot of these players last year. Chicago looks like a totally different team. Why? Because Caleb Williams can throw it from the pocket.

Caleb Williams can run like Justin. He can throw it from the pocket. He's not frenetic, totally composed. Justin Fields can move, but, you know, sitting in the pocket throwing darts, that's how you win in January and February. Caleb can do that. That's not what I've seen so far from Justin. So I kind of feel like this is inevitable.

They're going to finish a winning record. Cleveland now is done. You're going to beat Cleveland twice. Cleveland shot. It's over. It's done. Nobody in the bill. building things Deshaun can play. The owner doesn't think that, but he's forcing everybody to say,

yeah, I'll play him. And there you go. It is what it is. Never bad, but now, never great. That's what the Steelers are. They're a mile from the Super Bowl. So, I mean, I'll say this. Whether you like McCarthy or Tomlin, unlike the Cowboys, there are things that I love about Pittsburgh. I love their culture. I love their toughness. I love the way they draft and develop. I like the fact they don't have pickens as a little sideways, but not a ton of ego. There's a resilience, a toughness.

They draft, they develop, they care about the right stuff mostly. I like a lot about them. But the offense is just what it's been for about eight years. Dallas, there's almost nothing I like. C.D. Lam's really good. It ends right after that. I don't like that at that price tag. I would move off Micah Parsons.

I would trade Micah Parsons and get a first round pick. I don't want to be that top heavy. I, you know, listen, somebody wants Michael Parsons. I'd move him. And it's not that I don't like him. I think he's worth a first round pick somewhere. But at Dallas, Dallas has issues. Like, if Justin Fields was as good as Caleb Williams,

Pittsburgh would be good for a decade. They just got to get the quarterback better. But, I mean, Dallas has issues like I like the quarterback, but that's not as talented as Caleb Williams. That's not close. Caleb does a better ball. Caleb's a better athlete. That's not close.

I mean, Dax's a fourth round pick for a reason. And Caleb was the number one pick for a reason, and teams would have moved up. Chicago could have gotten more calls. But so, I don't know. I just look at Pittsburgh and I'm like, it's a little fool's gold. You're going to have winning record, thanks to Cleveland being a tire fire, but I don't think it goes anywhere. Am I being too hard on him? I mean.

I like how you said a little fools gold. A little? These are the quarterbacks they beat this season, mighty Pittsburgh. Okay. Kirk Cousins when he was immobile in the open. That's right. Bo Nix in game two of his rookie year. Game three, Justin Herbert, they were nip and tuck, and then he leaves a game.

Yeah, Herbert came into that game limping. Yeah, Taylor Heineke finishes the game, and they destroy the Chargers. And then yesterday, Aiden O'Connell, who just continues to just give the football away at all costs. Listen, man, we like to talk, is Pittsburgh good? Is this team good? Colin, it's okay to say, sure, they're four and two, but I don't know if they're good. they could only muster 293 yards of offense against the Raiders.

They had one drive over 45 yards. Everything else the Raiders just handed to them. Listen, I thought Justin Fields was going to get subbed out yesterday for Russell Wilson. Did you see that first quarter? Justin Fields was all over the place, total mess. They cut to Russ on the sideline. He's like, got the hands ready. He's all ready to go.

I just, I don't think Pittsburgh's a good football team right now. They're winning, yes, but this is not sustainable. Well, and we do know that schedules can. be beneficial. We know, I mean, Chicago fairly has beaten teams that are reeling. I mean, Will Levis gave them a W. Jacksonville is right now that thing's man overboard. That you've got to move

off. I think they actually have to. I never call for coaches to be fired, but Trevor Lawrence has regressed so badly. They don't do anything well. Some teams like Pittsburgh, they do defense well. They're not without hope. They draft and develop well. But there's just limitations on. You've got to score in this league. Go to the last two years at the end of the season.

Nobody can stop anybody. Even Kansas City's defense, you can move on it. So by the end of the season, your defense gets beat up. Defensive players tend to, on average, statistically, get hurt more often than offensive players because of the collisions they create. And so. This is where the Steelers are. If you watch that game closely, in the fourth quarter, they're uphandily.

And you hear the announcers start to allude to, oh, they're trying to get the ball to pickings. You know why? Because you've got to keep pickings happening. He's always unhappy. He's chirping. Give me the ball. And they were trying to force-feed him up like 15 late, Colin. Listen, back in 2020, they won 12 games. But like this year, there were 24th in offense. What happened? They lost a baker in the playoffs.

So that's what this team is. You can get to the playoffs. You can get to the playoffs with an average offense if your defense is great. You're not winning games, not in the AFC. And these days, not in the NFC. I think the NFC has gotten better very quickly because a couple of teams hit quarterbacks. All right. Colin right, Colin wrong.
