You watched a lot of college hoops. the weekend I imagine I watched a lot of NFL free agency over the weekend all fired up on that oh really we're gonna head and the dynasty i i finally finish the dynasty on the patriot so scott pioly and jeff benedict who wrote the book uh that's coming up today it's fast one of my favorite documentaries of all time i'm not sure if it rises to mj but in terms of football dynasties top in my head best football dynasty i've ever seen wow i mean a lot of nflbl news today college basketball and I survived the move. We are alive. I am present. Shocking. Your wife controlled it. You're all good. So, you know, I'm sitting there watching

TV over the weekend. I went in a little respite, little break, right? And I'm watching it. There's a lot of college basketball. And there's also a lot of hype and hope and optimism for the NFL season. We got the draft about a month away. And it's a big quarterback draft. And I'm sitting there thinking to myself, one of the reasons I love the NFL draft, especially at quarterbacks is there a, there's a randomness to it. Who can figure out the quarterback? Some are tall, some are short, some move, some don't, some ad libs, some not so good. Why do so few quarterbacks, five or six first round quarterback, sometimes one hits, five

massively fail? And I've always been fascinated in any business finding the common thread. What doesn't interest me as much as why? Why does it happen? And so take the 20. 20 draft. First two rounds, they all hit. Burroughs great. Two has gotten pro bowl votes. Justin Herbert, excellent. Jordan Love looks like he's going to be a guy. Jalen Hertz got to a Super Bowl. They all hit at some level. And that was not considered after Burrow a great quarterback draft. People had real

questions about Tua's health and Herbert's kind of mechanics. Jordan Love was considered a total project and Jalen hers, I was one of them. Is he a starter in the NFL? Then you go to the 2021 draft and that was nothing but hype and optimism and they've all bombed except Trevor Lawrence. Zach Wilson, whiff, Trey Lance,

Miss, Justin Fields, backup, Mack Jones, not working, Kyle Trass not playing and Trevor Lawrence, I like him. He was the one I said's going to work. He has worked to some degree, he's got a playoff win. But there is a randomness to it and I'm fascinated with the why. There's a Rubik's cube

randomness to it. Remember in high school? I was in high school when the Rubik's Cube comes out, roughly there, high school college. There was always one kid that figured it out. He could do it repeatedly over and over in like three minutes. He wasn't the smartest kid you knew. He wasn't the best student. He was kind of an oddball, but he figured out the Rubik's Cube. And in the NFL, in this randomness to find the right quarterback, the one kid is the Packers. They ace it quickly.

They got Favre, they got Rogers, they got Jordan Love, so they're that kid. But it's so random that organizations that we don't historically trust are also great at it. The Cincinnati Bengals go back to Kenny Anderson. I know I'm old and have gray hair. Kenny Anderson was outstanding. And then boomer Osiasen won an MVP. And then Carson Palmer was great. And then it was, I mean, Andy Dalton made multiple playoffs.

And Joe Burrow. The Bengals are great at it? Yeah, they are. I mean, there's been a few miss. Misses, but they've hit on more than the Steelers have. How about the Chargers? John Hedle, look him up. Dan Fouts, Drew Brees, Philip Rivers, Justin Herbert.

The Chargers? We don't trust the Chargers. They're great at quarterbacks. The Bengals are great at quarterbacks. The Packers have hit three straight. It's a cautionary tale about this draft, because I'm sitting there looking at all these quarterbacks, and this draft class reminds me a lot of the 20-21 draft class,

where you go to about five, six first-rounders, all of them getting hype, and there's one transcendent quarterback. Caleb Williams, just like Trevor Lawrence. Caleb Williams can't miss. But Trevor went to a weird, odd losing franchise, Jacksonville, and it's been bumpy. And here goes Caleb Williams. he's going to another franchise that can't get the quarterback right,

the Chicago Bears. And so I looked at this draft with Bo Nix and Michael Panics and J.J. McCarthy and Jaden Daniels and Drake May and Caleb Williams. And you know the thing that scares me and makes me think about the 2021 draft? Go look at the 2021 quarterbacks. A lot of them went to defensive coaches, defensive cultures, and teams with more good defensive players. Yeah, that's where Mack Jones went.

Justin Fields, Zach Wilson. At the time, Trevor Lawrence, they had to go buy offensive players his second year in the league. And so I look at this class. And who are the first three teams drafting? Chicago, Washington, New England, defensive coach, defensive coach, all working with an offensive coordinator they've never worked with before. you think that's ideal that's why I have said

and I'll say it again that the two quarterbacks in this class of the six or seven that could get drafted in the first two rounds the two quarterbacks my instincts tell me will work I think Caleb Williams like Trevor Lawrence is talented enough

to just figure out ways to be productive and win some games he'll probably be on a second coach by Thanksgiving or a second year but I think he's talented enough And the other quarterback that'll work is whoever goes to Minnesota. Love their offensive coach. Pro Bowl left tackle.

Superstar receiver. Excellent running back Aaron Jones. Excellent tight end. Excellent number two receiver Jordan Addison. And overall, a top 12 offensive line. That is a perfect place for a J.J. McCarthy, a Michael Pennix, so I don't have a second quarterback that's going to work. it's Caleb Williams and whoever goes to Minnesota, if you put Patrick Mahomes today,

from the chiefs, you put them on the Vikings, with those offensive pieces, that coach, stability and ownership, I would say the Vikings get to the Super Bowl. That's how highly I think of Minnesota's offensive talent. Because I do believe outside of the occasional Andrew Luck, Trevor Lawrence, and Caleb Williams, it's mostly where you land. we make so much hype about J.J. McCarthy, I don't love him. Many do. If J.J. McCarthy goes to Minnesota, and by the way, did you see what Minnesota did over the last three days? They accumulated a second first round pick. So the Vikings have two first round picks for one reason. To move up,

potentially to get a quarterback they view as the guy. Somebody could be Drake May. They could move up to three. It could be J.J. McCarthy. They may have to move up to seven or eight. But I thought the Vikings were the interesting team. They accumulate a second first round pick. My guess is they're doing that because they may have to use it to get their quarterback. And that kid who can sit behind Sam Darnold for one year, maybe just until Thanksgiving, will have the second highest shot to succeed.

For years and years, I tried to predict who was going to work. And by and large, next year's draft, by the way, It does not have a Caleb Williams, Andrew Luckler, or Trevor Lawrence. It'll come down again to who gets the offensive coach, who gets the best offensive line, who gets the weapons? Because what's happening in football now, it's so popular, there's so much money, by Thanksgiving of your second year, even if you're talented, people have emotionally in the building moved on.

All you can hope for as a quarterback, the owner likes you, Daniel Jones, and wants to resign you. All right. So I watched, we'll have a couple of guests on today. talk about it. I like documentaries. I watch very few movies. I watch 100 docs a year. I watch six this weekend. I like watching docs.

There's not a lot of great sports documentaries. And I thought dynasty was excellent. Now, some people, it's looking back to the 20 years, 10 parts of the Patriots dynasty. So, I mean, obviously you could do 30 parts of this thing. They took the Aaron Hernandez, Deflate

Gate, the Malcolm Butler Super Bowl, the Squabble, the Squabbles, Tom and Belichick at the end. They took the most dramatic stuff. Same with MJ and the Bulls. They're not going to talk about a Tuesday game against Orlando in a documentary. You're going to talk about Robin and Vegas, Jerry Krause and Michael not getting along, the punch. That's what you're going to talk about in documentary, right?

Like these are not endless. You're going to talk about for 45 minutes, 10 different times, the biggest stuff. So people said that this was very pro-Bob Kraft and anti-Belichick. And maybe it was. You have to get access from some people to do a documentary. But you know what I noticed in this documentary? Nobody badmouthed Brady. But almost everybody criticized Belichick, the owner, his offensive coordinator, his defensive

stars, his defensive players, the loyal Matt Slater. Why was everybody willing to go after Bill? Why would nobody go after Tom? Because as Danny Amandola said, we played for Tom. We were coached by Bill. and I have found something over my life to be true about dynasties in sports. You can go back to Shaq and Kobe, Jordan's Bulls, Brady and Belichick. There's three things they all have in common.

Number one, work ethic and vision creates the dynasty. They found Brady late in the draft. They found him and had a vision. The second thing is resilience. That will maintain it. MJ's Bulls, Brady, Belichick, dynasties are hard. Empires are hard. So hard work and vision creates it.

Resilience, toughness maintains it. And a hunger for power destroys it. Kobe and Shaq, both wanted to be the guy. Right? Like they both had to be the guy. MJ and the front office of the Bulls. They resented MJ. Jackson. And in this one, it's very clear. Say what you want about this being a pro-craft,

pro-Bradie documentary. Tom was highly, highly complimentary of Bill. Did not have to be. But Belichick was asked about the Malcolm Butler situation, and he would not comment. Everybody, players were furious. Brady was mad. Josh McDaniels, the coordinator, the loyal coordinator was upset, and Bill would never answer it. Why? Because is Bill wanted to control the question, the answer, and the narrative. To the very end, Bill, like the late Bobby Knight, had an insane belief in accountability. And yet in the end, he didn't have any. Bill wouldn't answer the question.

How in God's name can you cost us a Super Bowl by not playing Malcolm Butler, and we can't stop Nick Foles? And he was the most consistent defender on that team for most of the year. if you're going to preach accountability, then you've got to be accountable in the biggest moments. Belichick wasn't. It's a fascinating on Apple TV documentary. Regardless of who it favors,

Belichick had multiple opportunities in this documentary and in his final years. And he wanted to control Brady, be hard on Brady, control the Garoppolo move. You're a coach. You're not an owner. You're a coach. You're not a GM.

You're a coach. You're not the star quarterback. As football pivoted to an offensive league, a quarterback-driven industry, Bill wanted to treat Brady like he was second-year Tommy, and he was the greatest player at the most important position ever, and it was at that point indisputable, and Bill wouldn't budge. So great stuff. Great stuff.

I saw an NBA story that is interesting, and it's, you know, people are tired of the LeBron MJ debate so we don't do it. But there was years ago, and this was a real thing when he was just leaving OKC, going to the Warriors and winning MVP in the finals, there was a KD and LeBron discussion. And I didn't believe it. I didn't think it was disputable. I didn't think it was arguable. But a lot of people were, you know, KD, because he has an easy score, KD is the one here. Interesting what's happened in Phoenix, isn't it?

He goes to the Warriors. You know it by now. KD. joins a team that had already won a championship before him.

Steve Kerr, Steph, Clay, Draymond. They were a percolating dynasty. And so KD joins them and is the best overall talent on the team, two-time, I think, finals MVP. And there were a lot of discussions. I never bought into him, but there were a lot of discussions. he's better than LeBron. And that's like timeout.

LeBron is much bigger, broader, and greater in what he brings to a team cohesion and chemistry. KD's just a great player, a great score. So KD goes to Brooklyn, and he gets his points. It's a mess. And so he goes then to the Sons, and it's Bradley Biel and Booker, all three really good scores. And the Sons are a bit of a mess. LeBron's teams may not be great, but he's still got AD who's inconsistent,

Austin Reeves, he got a championship in the bubble, Western Conference Finals, they've run through coaches. The Lakers aren't a mess ever with LeBron. The sons are only eighth in the West, lost yesterday to the Bucks without Yannis. They're only 15 and 11 when Booker, Beal, and KD play,

and defensively, they're just not very good. but bigger than all of that is, what are they? And that's the difference between LeBron and KD. You may hate LeBron because he is something. Very few people hate KD. LeBron is a leader, sometimes a villain. He is the setup guy, the front man to the band. He leads a team. He sets the culture.

KD gets points. He's at peace. he's plug and play when he went to Golden State they didn't ask him to be a leader Draymond was Steph was Kerr was veteran Andre Iguidalo was

when confronted by Draymond and Steve Kerr Haiti was uncomfortable again what are they the Warriors have always been something and stood for something

because of Chris because of Steph Curry and Steve Kerr and Draymond Green. Draymond Green ensures toughness. Steph Curry ensures leadership and ball movement. And Kerr ensures intelligence and a style of play. They are something.

LeBron James, distribution, leadership, IQ, the Lakers are something. He gets players to play at their very best. You think Austin Reeves is this good if he plays for the Wizards or the Orlando magic, he'd get lost and you'd never hear of him again. Kyle Kuzma with LeBron was something. Now, what is he? And that's my knock on KD. Sons are desperate for leadership because Booker,

before Chris Paul got there and now that he's gone, Booker like KD is just an excellent score. This is not a criticism of Kevin Durant. I've said before if you had a one-on-one tournament, he'd be the best player in league history. I love watching him play. I'm a fan of his work. But the difference between LeBron and KD

is LeBron is always something beyond points and production. He can be a villain. He won in Miami being that. He can be a leader, joyful, getting Kyrie Irving to finally be a championship player. He can take broken down Anthony Davis who people love but nobody trusts his head.

and win in the bubble. Everybody with LeBron works around him. He is this force, the sun, that everything hovers around. Doesn't always win the title, but often gets to the final or the conference championship with disparate parts which wouldn't work with anybody else. If you put LeBron with Booker and with Bradley Beale, they would not be 15 and 11 when playing together and 8th in the West. again, not a criticism of KD.

It's a reality of his personality. He's one of my favorite 15 players of all time. I'd vote him in today to the Hall of Fame. I've loved watching him play. But KD's greatest moments were not in O.K.C., Brooklyn or Phoenix. They were when he joined a team with great leadership, because that's not what he does. And that cohesion and chemistry is a large part of what defines

LeBron James. Jemak with the news. No, no, no, no. Turn on the news. This is the herd line news. Let's start with some news we missed while we were gone. Kenny Pickett's time in Pittsburgh ended with a bit of a thud. Remember, he was a first round pick in 2022, and he was traded.

According to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, the Steelers traded him because of his behavior, and he expressed unhappiness over the arrival. of Russell Wilson. And, you know, here in the notes, don't forget, last season, Pickett was not happy to be the backup to Mason Rudolph member. Pickett was healthy, but Tomlin just wrote Rudolph. People are like, what the heck's going on there? So aren't you a bit surprised that the Steelers, loyal to a fault,

moved off the Pittsburgh kid? I've got to be honest. I said for a year, they're going to be too loyal. They're going to be loyal to the kid. and to their credit, Pittsburgh moved off a quarterback who in the AFC is simply not good enough. It's the right decision, but I am shocked.

This is a, it's actually, it shows you something that I didn't think Pittsburgh was capable of, which is like, yeah, we're moving off a guy. It would be very easy to do with New York Giants and play them and pay them and just sit around, and that's what I thought they would do. But come on, in his career, he's got 14 touchdowns and 13 picks. 13 touchdowns and 24 starts.

And he played a ton of college games. Same facility. So he's got comfort. He's got continuity. Well, he was just average in college until his final year. I think he was like the fifth year. He was like 23 years old. He had like 40 touchdowns.

Yeah, that was the concern out of college. When you see a quarterback who pops, like in his fourth year of playing, people are always very reluctant because you're just a much older kid. Well, remember, that happened to Burrow too. Burrough's first year at LSU. He was like mid. maybe he's a seventh round pick. Yeah.

Then he explodes at the greatest season ever. So I think people saw Pickett and were like, ooh, what if he's Joe? Yeah, no, I get it. He's not. So he'll be the backup in Philadelphia. How about Pittsburgh, changing their quarterback room? Last year, Mason Rudolph, Pickett, and Trubisky.

Now it's Russell Wilson and Justin Fiore. That's a big upgrade. Oh, yeah. It's a far more talented mobile quarterback room. How much of this has to do with Tomlin being in his final year saying, guys, we're just going all in. I'm giving it one last shot. It definitely feels like this is Tomlin's last hurrah.

Yeah, and I think he's... My guess is he's not going to be there after this year. I think, you know, again, this was so unexpected to me. It's the right move, but so unexpected. And I don't think Mike has a feel for offense. So let's go get a couple of athletes. They have a new offensive coordinator. They have nice pieces.

But I just, moving off Pickett, surprise me. How about this? So Russell Wilson goes to Pittsburgh. He's like, all right, we're going to Pittsburgh. I'm the man. And then trade Pickett. He's like, what's up? All of a sudden, here comes Justin Fields.

Do you think he was ticked? Because there was a report that Tomlin called Wilson and said, hey, you're the starter. But Russ is going to be looking over his shoulder. You know that, right? Well, and also, it's a great division. Baltimore, Burroughs back. Cleveland's got, I think, a great coach and a good quarterback. So the truth is, it's not out of the realm of possibility that in October,

Russell has back-to-back stinkers, you know, against the Ravens in Baltimore. and the bingles, and then Justin Field steps in. So this is not a Russell's one, and you got a college kid in the seventh round. Like Justin Fields at practice will make plays and the teammates, the younger teammates may be like, that's our guy. So the divide on a two-game losing streak, which, by the way, it's just going to happen. That division, you're going to have two-game losing streaks. The divide is real.

Yeah. Over under Halloween before Justin Fields is started. I would do under, but by Thanksgiving. he will have started a game. Fields will get a look. I'm interested. Remember, Pickett last year against the Niners. Remember, I loved Pittsburgh in that game.

Pickett was awful. You're like, oh, he's not the guy. I just, I wonder if it's going to be a real short leash. Because you got Fields waiting in the wings, and Fields can run around and make some things happen. Well, you don't have to keep Russell or Fields after this year. So I wouldn't even be surprised if Pittsburgh didn't go draft in the third round, the Tulane quarterback, who will probably be early third round.

I mean, I can see. them saying, listen, we're going to try you two. We're going to bring this kid in to be in the quarterback room for a year with a veteran and a kid, and let's see how it plays out. But I, you know, they spend their money on defense in Pittsburgh, so... Not smart. But, uh, yeah, anyway, so let's get to the Jets.

They made a move grabbing Cowboys Tackled Tyron Smith. 14 year veteran, eight-time pro bowler. Listen, I don't love getting another aging 30-something year old. Last year it was Dwayne Brown, who was 37. I like this move a lot by the Jets. Well, listen, it's not, it's not the worst move in the world. The Jets apparently were surprised to land him. He's 33 last four seasons. He's

missed 37 games. I mean, listen, two years ago, torn hamstring. And he missed like 14 games. So here's where I like it. It's a great left tackle draft. It's a great draft. Could be six in the first round, four in the second. So my take with the Jets now is Tyron Smith, let's just pencil him in for 12 to 13 starts. So even if you get a first round offensive tackle, that kid's not going to be ready to protect off an Achilles surgery, Aaron

Rogers, in week one. Left tackle is one of those positions. Even the great ones, the kid for the Giants, the left tackle, Andrew Thomas, he didn't have a great rookie year. He's tremendous now. So it's a big difference between blocking a college rush end and being in the AFC

and blocking guys in your own division like Vaughn Miller. So to me, you can either draft another first round left tackle and just say, hey, we're going to start you by Thanksgiving, but you're going to learn, I think that's smart, or go get one in later rounds, but the Jets are lucky that they land Tyron Smith. When Tyron Smith played last year, in the games that I recall, if he gets his hand on you, it's over. So it's like Aaron Donald. He's still great. The difference is Aaron doesn't get banged up as much as Tyron, but I think if he plays 13 games next year, you're not getting to Aaron.

in those 13 games. Yeah, I think he had over 800 snaps and only three penalties. He's fantastic. So let me just quickly throw this at you. The Jets now have three new starting offensive linemen. Left tackle, left guard who came from Baltimore, right tackle who came from Baltimore. We know Joe Douglas was with the Ravens, obviously the familiarity. Are you still drafting a left tackle with the first pick?

No, no, no. Are we certain of that? Well, not with the first pick. Yes. I wouldn't be bothered it. But I think you can make an argument now for the Jets. is this accomplishes two things. Tyrone Smith's a good player.

He's a top five or six tackle when he's on the field. When he's healthy. Okay. Absolutely. Like Trent Williams is the best or second best. Trent misses time. Not as much as Tyrone, but he misses time. So you've solved that.

This is a very deep, wide receiver draft. So the Jets could get a receiver in the second, third, fourth, whatever is. They don't have a second. This is where it gets interesting. Yeah. But my take is where they draft right now, 10. 1011, I think you trade down for sure. Have to. Anybody, please, come and give the extra picks.

The only, the first thing I thought about is Magic, who by the way, Magic had a multitude of finishes as well. He wasn't as, I would say. Magic Skyhook was up. He didn't have the touch offensively quite as Kyrie does as a shooter. Magic wasn't a great jump shooter.

But the magic hook against the Celtics is like, you're bringing that out in that situation? Are you out of your mind? That is a top one or two buzzer-beater of all time in terms of the shot, the moment, the difficult. And some guys probably hit a half-court shot, but that's luck. That's luck. That's not, this is not luck. This is not something he's been working on for years.

So the headline says new stunning detail of Justin Fields trade to the Steelers revealed by Ian Rappaport. According to this story, the Bears had several offers for Justin Fields, but sent him to Pittsburgh because that's what Justin Fields preferred. so he preferred to be a backup with another defensive coach. Is Justin Fields content being a backup? Because he may eventually be the starter if Russell Wilson was hurt or struggled, but Russell Wilson is a defined Super Bowl-winning, two Super Bowl-appearing veteran quarterback. He did not come here without assurances. I guarantee you Russell Wilson didn't come here.

without assurances. As J. Mack had said five minutes ago, he got him, reportedly. Fields is still trying to figure out how to play the position. So if Fields could have chosen other organizations, I'd love to know what they are. Because we've got an organization in Pittsburgh that's a better version of Chicago. Defense is where they generally spend their time and money. Mike Tomlin has struggled to get the coordinator right on that side and the O-line. they haven't had a top defense in half a top offense a top 10 offense they haven't had that in half a decade even the last couple of years with big ben were a mess so according to in rapaport several teams multitude of options and he chose a backup role in a really really tough division probably the best division in football with a defensive coach a defensive culture in a franchise that just traded away before he got there a very talented young receiver and dionte johnson for an average corner.

That is nuts. I never love Justin Fields' judgment from the pocket. I'm not sure I love his judgment here. I just don't think that's where I'd go. I mean, I would go to the New York Giants if they were interested. Offensive coach. Again, what Justin Fields needs now is to be refined, sandpaper the weaknesses, figure out how to play the position.

We know he's big enough, moves well enough, and is talented enough. He needs the right mentor, the right, just like Josh Allen got Brian Dable. Just like you forget Mahomes was wild, unorthodox. He needed Andy Reed. Even in the first three or four years with Mahomes, he would go off out of the fairway into the weeds mechanically. They had to bring him back.

So that's where Fields is. He needs his Spengali. He needs his guy to get him right on track. Here's how you play the position. Here's how reading, seeing. And again, I've said, he reminds me a little of Zach Wilson. Wilson got a defensive coach. I don't think Zach Wilson was ever going to be great. I didn't buy him as a number two pick. But the Jets are Robert Sala, a defensive culture without a ton of weapons.

So I just, this is not the decision I would have made. Seattle, Seahawks, Gino Smith, they don't know him any money next year. I mean, you could go in and blow people away and by Thanksgiving be the starter. Russell Wilson's done this before, and he may go on a two or three game losing skid. Tomlin moves off him. But my guess is Russell Wilson's the starter for the season and will be with this offensive repertoire of tied ends running backs and George Pickens he's going to move the chains. So I didn't love that. Here's something else

that was interesting. So Keenan Allen was coming off a very good season and the Chargers would have kept him but he needed to take a pay cut. And Keenan Allen was quoted a receiver I like a lot of saying I wasn't taking a pay cut.

So it's very interesting. Both Bosa, Kaleo Mack and Joey Bosa, and by the way, Mac had a very good year. They took pay cuts. Keenan Allen, a wide receiver, said, I'm not going to do it. And that's interesting.

Because an edge rusher isn't tied to another player on his team. T.J. Watt can get to the quarterback. Right? Like, Boses, get to the quarterback. You're not really tied to anybody else. A receiver, even a great one, is tied to his quarterback. I'm not leaving Jim Harbaugh, and I'm not leaving Justin Herbert.

to go to even as much as I like Caleb Williams, a defensive coach and a rookie quarterback in a good division. I'm not doing it. I mean, Randy Moss, his last year with the Raiders, had three touchdowns. A year later with Tom Brady, he had 23. And that's Randy Moss. And I like Keenan Allen.

He's a good receiver, very good. He's not Randy Moss. I mean, the great Larry Fitzgerald, his numbers go to the prime of his career. when were his numbers down for Larry Fitzgerald in his prime? Kevin Cobb, Drew Stanton, or your quarterbacks. So even all-time Hall of Fame first ballot guys, Randy Moss, Larry Fitzgerald, are absolutely tied to the quarterback.

And I like Caleb Williams, but he's a rookie. He's a kid. You know, their offensive line in Chicago could be problematic. The Chargers have the left tackle, the quarterback, and here's the other thing. Keenan Allen was very fortunate because the charge. when he was there were always a pass-first offense. They didn't have dominating run games for his time of the Chargers.

He also had Philip Rivers and Justin Herbert, a borderline Hall of Fame quarterback and a kid out of Oregon with Hall of Fame talent. So like that, again, who am I to tell anybody to take less money? Keenan Allen is very good. But receivers, even Randy Moss, even a Calvin Johnson, even a Larry Fitzgerald, three of the best all time, you are really tied to your quarterback. Go look at Randy Moss's years in New England.

Look at before and after. It's like a different flair. So to me, and you can make an argument, because I love what Minnesota, Green Bay, and Detroit have offensively, is that you can make an argument that bears have the fourth best offensive talent in a very offensive division. So rookie quarterback, defensive coach on a hot seat, Matt E. Flus or Harbaugh and Herbert?

I don't know. That's one of those. Again, who am I to tell anybody to take a pay cut? But if the edge rushers, you know, a guy can either get sacks or he can't. He's not tied to anybody. You're either coming off that edge if you're Mack and Bosa and getting to the guy and creating chaos and disruptionary or not.

Receivers are tied to quarterbacks, and I like Caleb, but I would take Herbert at 31 years old, I think it's very reasonable to assume. that Justin Herbert the next two years is going to post better numbers with Harbaugh, then Keenan will post with Caleb Williams and Matt Eberfluse, who I don't even think survives two years. So you could have a major coaching change by Thanksgiving in Chicago. Now, I do think the Bears between Keenan Allen, DJ Moore,

running backs that can catch, Cole Comet, Gerald Everett, I think the Bears have done a very good job in free agency to give Caleb Williams some nice weapons. winner, one of the winners of this free agency period is Caleb Williams. He is now absolutely the quarterback and the bears have more offensive talent now than they've had in a long time. But if I'm Keenan Allen, man, it's, it's hard to leave. Herbert, they've got a great left tackle. They've got a legendary coach.

That's hard to leave. Very hard to leave. Colin right, Colin wrong, top of next hour. Jeff Benedict in our final hour. he wrote the book that became the documentary on the dynasty, which again, it's, I love sports docs. There's been a lot made,

but I thought the MJ documentary to me, again, that was very pro-MJ. Many viewed it as anti-Pippin or marginalized Pippin's importance. Pippin was not happy with it. This one is viewed as very pro-Bob Kraft, anti-Belichick, somebody's always unhappy in a dock.

because you need information. You get a sports book, you're going to have sources. Some people are willing to talk. Belichick and Pippin, maybe not. So I don't worry too much about that. I think I'm smart enough to watch a doc, see where it's leaning, and still come to conclusions. Hour two and a Monday,
