Rich was such a bachelor boy back in the early 2000s. You skipped on on Bachelor on a Monday night to watch Love is Blind.

Goes to show you where the juice is at. Yeah. The Bachelor, old news. Love is Blind, uncensored, more wackos. There's a guy. Love is Blind got the juice. Not to spoil anything. But this dude, Dave, such a weak ass.

With the sunburned face. Dude, talk about the weakest dude. Maybe he's a nice guy. Hey, maybe he's listening now. We do have affiliates in Minneapolis. What's up, Weird Dave from Love is Blind? Rich's sister wouldn't like hearing this on the. the radio. Every other word out of his mouth is, I don't know what my sister would think of this.

You care about what your siblings think? Yes. I mean, it depends what we're talking about. If it's like, do I care what they think about Stephen and his spending habits? No, I don't care what they think. Do I care about their opinion on whether or not I'm a good person? Yeah. Not like who you're dating. Yeah. Then you wouldn't have married your ex-wife if that was the question. No, no, because you want them to get along. So it does matter. I can say I don't care. hair. Then again, they don't know what's necessarily I should say my style or my taste.

Yeah. Because the people they would choose for you are probably not the people you would choose. The way he talks about it, though, it's like his manager. Oh, really? I'm going to run this by my sister. Oh, that's weird, yeah. Well, I mean, everybody has different relationships. Not to go off the rails on love is buying because there's a really

fun story in the world of sports and Hollywood that sort of ties together and has to do with greatness I want to get to. But there's a really funny angle. Danny G. Camino's not watching so let me throw it out there real quick. Don't you assume that before you met

the woman you're with there was just other dude kicking it to her or she had a boyfriend before you. Yeah. You think it's the most lame? Unless she looks like Large Marge Unless she's a sea hag. Yeah. Of course she had other guys before you. I'm fascinated.

There's this dude on Love is wine that she's so hung up on. wait, before you went on the show, like you were talking to some dude? Yeah, that was our first reaction to my wife and I, Richard. The difference here, though, is the guy that she hooked up with is in his circle of friends. So he knows who the guy is.

Like an ancillary guy. Yeah, but still. Like if Camino, if you went on a dating show and, you know, clean slate, but it was like, wait, before you entered the pods, you used to date Danny G? Yeah, I think that's a game changer. because, like, I know Danny G. So I know she has bad judgment.

No, but there's girls that I've dated. And then I realized they hooked up with rich. And I'm like, ugh, off the market. I'm like, not interested anymore. For real. So I understand that. Can't compete? No, just like, again, bad judgment.

Yeah. Yeah, and he doesn't want to have to take penicillin. Exactly. I don't know what she's got now. All right. Well, hey, love is blind. Good time, filler. To wait for things like tonight.

Lakers, Mavericks, will get to that. Well, I could tie. or love is blind thing into an actual conversation that we had planned out. And that is life is a competition. It really is. You could pretend like it's not. But we're all trying to be our best selves. And we're all keeping up with the Kardashians.

We're all trying to be our best to be the best. I look at it this way. I approach life from a sports background, from a sports mentality. Meaning you're trying to be great. You're trying to do your best. Are we all going to be the next Michael Jordan? Are we all going to be the next Michael Phelps? The answer is no.

So when you realize you can't do that, whatever it is you end up doing, you still try to bring that mentality to your workplace. At least that's how I approach things in life. Yeah. Right? And again, sports mentality. I grew up as a kid playing sports. Didn't pan out the way I thought it would.

You know, every kid wants to be a baseball player. Listen, dude, I get it. I'm the winningest coach on Fox Sports Radio. That's true. So again, you approach everything in life the same way. At least that's how I feel. I teach the little kids. You got to learn how to win the right way, but also lose the right way.

And my point is, even on a show like Love is Blind or The Bachelor or whatever stupid game show you're on, you're bringing your best and you're trying to beat out everybody. Love is a battlefield. It's the game of love. Did you make that up? I did, I think. But, yeah, the Game of Life is a competition in a lot of ways. Which is why?

But there's plenty of room for everybody to win, though, Rich. Which is why this Timothy Shalamey story. who, by the way, as we've learned in the last couple months, is a huge sports fan and a knowledgeable one at that. Especially college football, yeah. College sports seems to be his thing. And a Raiders fan. He was rocking an old school Raider jacket in Paris.

He's a Raiders guy, and he's good pals with Matt Dog Grisow. So we know what Timothy Shalomey is made of. He's a guy that loves sports, but he just happens to be a pretty damn good actor. And he won a SAG Award the other night. I know you like it when they sag a little bit. But... But...

When he wins the SAG award, he gives a speech... I should win a SAG award. He gives a speech that rubs some people the wrong way. I thought it was awesome. Again, maybe because I'm a sports fan and I understand a sports mentality. Competitive mentality. Why do people like to pretend like you are competing in a lot of ways? Guess what?

everybody listening right now at work or coming back from work, everybody's trying to take your job. If you're somewhere high up there, they want your job. They might not admit it. They might not wish any harm in your life. It might not be a direct reflection of how they feel about you. But if you're getting paid more, they want your job. It's very competitive.

No, but it's a competitive world that we live in. If, again, you have a sports mentality. And you already said it. Timothy Shalamey is a kid who loves a sports, probably played all sorts of sports growing up, realized he's a little weenie, and said, you know what, I'm never going to make it in professional sports,

but I got this mentality and mindset, and I'm going to use it in this field of acting, in this new career that I've found. Not to reiterate what you said, but think about that. When pursuing a woman you care about, when you're going for that job you want, if you were a kid that grew up playing sports and you have that mentality built into you,

that's how a lot of us view life. Take a listen to Shell-May's speech. I can't downplay the significance of this award because it means the most to me. And I know we're in a subjective business, but the truth is I'm really in pursuit of greatness. I know people don't usually talk like that, but I want to be one of the greats.

I'm inspired by the greats. I'm inspired by the greats here tonight. I'm as inspired by Daniel Day Lewis, Marlon Brando and Viola Davis, as I am by Michael Jordan, Michael Phelps. And I want to be up there. so I'm deeply grateful to that. This doesn't signify that, but it's a little more fuel.

It's a little more ammo to keep going. He's on a pursuit for greatness. How cool is that? You would think that everybody applauded that speech because it was off the cuff and it wasn't the kiss-ass speech you normally hear to the academy or to the people, the SAG Awards or my fellow actors who I want to kiss your ass and everybody would a kiss-ass stroke fest. He's like, yo, I'm trying to beat all your asses here. I'm trying to be the best.

I'm not playing games, I'm here to win. And I think that's so cool, dude, and refreshing, yet he's getting backlash for that. Now, the only rub is that art is subjective. Then why are they giving out awards, Rich? Okay, so don't give me that hogwash. Don't give me a subjective when you're giving out awards. It's an award show. He wanted to win.

I commend him for being honest here and saying, no, I wanted to beat all your weak asses. A complete unknown. He won for that. the Bob Dylan story, SAG Awards. Now we're heading into the Oscars this weekend. And again, the story's becoming a bit of a thing because they're like, we don't like his attitude toward, you know, the academy and his competitive nature. He's saying, I want to be the Michael Jordan and Michael Phelps of what I do.

And I think everybody should have that same approach or whatever it is they do. Well, with all due respect, the people chirping the lattice on the other side or like a lot of these cackling women on like the view and these roundtable shows. What show did you find this on? Oh, well, this has gone viral too, but this is just one of many clips and one that aggravated me the most. It's from the social. I don't even know what that is. Melissa goes on a rant about how offended she is by what Chalemay said about wanting to be great in his pursuit of greatness.

I don't want to knock anybody's hustle, but Timothy, that should have stayed in your journal, my friend. Not even funny. What are they laughing at? Unfunny. I'm sorry, Timothy, you know, there's like inside thoughts and outside thoughts. thoughts and he just blurted it out and I just thought to myself you little brats are people holding up laugh signs yeah there must be there must be like a button like a laugh studio track I'm sure there's a light that says a clause hey Sam I'm going to point to you every time

I want you to play that wrecked him damn near killed them my dad always used to say that joke so To me, criticizing someone's pursuit of greatness, whether it's in the arts, in sports, as an accountant, as a doctor, as a scientist, like, aren't we all pursuing greatness and trying to be the best we could be? How can you criticize this dude getting up there who comes from a sports background who said, listen, I admire the greats. You inspire me. I want to, the way Michael Jordan and Michael Phelps are great, I want to be that in acting. And she says, do you love me? And she says, no, but that's a real nice ski mask. A little delay on that black track here.

Is it because I'm Mexican? It's Andalé. Oh, yeah, that's amazing. Hey, Andale. On a Taco Tuesday. Now, continue with this nonsense that this woman on the social spits about Shalame, Sam. Yeah. Yeah, let's pick it up.

Because she has a problem with his pursuit of greatness. Pick it up. Pick it up. Pick it up. If my daughter up there went up there and said something like that, I'd be like, to quote one, Kendrick Lamar, be humble. Here's the thing with acting. It's not like a sport where you can rack up numbers.

You know, oh, I've got so many wins and I'm the best, and I'm the next Michael Jordan, I'm the next Tiger Woods. It's not like that in art. Art, guess what? Guess who determines if you're great, your audience, not you. Then stop giving out awards, you idiots. I don't understand that. Yes, art is subjective.

We could all agree, right? I could look at something, think it's the stupidest thing ever. other people put high value on it because it's subjective, it's art. Then stop giving out awards. If you're going to give out awards, I don't blame Timothy Shalamala ding-dong. No, as Adam Sandler would call him.

Oh, yes. A Timothy Shalame. You can't blame him for wanting to win. I love that. He's a winner. I love his attitude. I think we should all take a little piece of that competitive edge to whatever it is we do,

especially on today. You know what today's the anniversary? of? Today. Today is the anniversary of. I'll reenact. Ready? I'm the greatest of all time. I'm the greatest. Who said that they were the greatest of all time? That bowler. His mama called him Cassius. I'ma call him Cassius. Not Pete Weber. Today's the day, Cassius Clay on this day, beat Sonny Liston, and it was Muhammad Ali's first heavyweight title.

I am the greatest. So, Timothy, Salomey Timothy Salome Who's fantastic I think he's a great young actor I'll tell you where he won me over No joke I was on a flight

And never would I have thought to watch Wonka Same, that's great Same And I was like I never liked the original You know what I'm like I'm on a flight

based on that. You got this kid who's really refreshing. He's going up there like a bro saying, yeah, I'm here to like, you know, kick everyone's ass. I'm here to be one of the greats. I want everybody in a stupid academy to know I'm here for victory and I'm here to win. I want to be up there with Michael Jordan and Michael Phelps with all the greats enacting. I want to be considered a great. I think that's awesome. I love that even more about the dude. When someone says stuff like that, again, it's Fox Sports Radio. Do you impress you embrace? it or do you let it rub you the wrong way? Like should other

people be saying those things about you? That was the criticism that Ricky Henderson got many, many years ago when he broke Lou Brock's record. Ricky Henderson was on, he was on second base, right? He grabs the base, he steals that one too. He holds it up in here and he's like, and today I'm the greatest of all

time. And he was because he was the record holder. But he got a lot of criticism for that too. Like, hey man, let's someone else patch you on the back and toot your horn. You shouldn't be tooting your own. I'll pat Timothy Shalami on the back for A, being a knowledgeable

sports fan, for being a hell of an actor. And he's dating Kylie Jenner, who's quite the looker. Major props. So Timothy Shelby Shelby. Jeremy. Get me Gets some props from Kavino and Rich here on Fox Sports Radio. The pursuit of greatness. There's nothing wrong with it.

There's never anything wrong with it. I think you could be humble and express that you're out for greatness all at the same time. DB, your thoughts on this? I will readily admit that I want your job. Oh, yeah. Like, I'm not, like, I'm, but I, I, say that in the most respectful way of being in this business of having my show or my name on the show in that window.

Like, yeah, I think that's what we, I don't want to say we all do because I don't know, but that's, that's my, that's my phone. That's the refreshing honesty that we're getting here from his speech, though. Best we can do a Sam's job, Dan, sorry. The ceiling is the roof. No, no, no. Vampire's going to plant drugs on you at the next. Next up.

Already done. Already done. Rich and I have a Patreon show too that we do every day. And I forget where the, I'm pretty sure the conversation came up there. But we went on some sort of mission about like you assume people know what you're after or know what you want, whether it be in relationships, that hot woman that you know, that job opening. Like you assume that people know what you're after. But not necessarily. You need to make it clear sometimes.

I want that job. Hey, I want to be with you. I like you. I want to spend time with you. You need to let people know. How many times do you hear people say, oh, I didn't know. How many times have you seen a woman in a rom-com? Oh, my God, I would have never known.

You've always had a crush on me. Like, you should have told her. And to back up with Dan Byers said, Dan, the job's yours, guess what we won? Dan Patrick's job, but he retires. Yeah. Right. I mean, to say that no one has their eye on a prize is ridiculous. And he's saying my eye is on being the best.

I'm picking out great roles so that I can be considered. one of the grest, the best in acting. I was thinking of his girlfriend. That's why. I was Samuel. Play the Timothy Shelby speech one more time because he references the greats in movies and then he compares it to some sports figures. I can't downplay the significance of this award

Our generation sweats two basketball players more than anyone. Michael Jordan, who he learned in The Last Dance, is a psychopath. And Kobe Bryant. Mamba mentality.

Like, cut throat, I'll kill you. Like, so you look at some of the greats. This makes me love Timothy Shalmay. Me too. You got a number one super fan, Timothy Shalame, because I like the honesty. I'm his number one super fan. You're his number two super fan. just said he was no I'm number one he's number two

come on I want to be his number one super fan like I'm letting I'm letting everybody know Rich already took the spot oh man you can have it because sometimes the number two is better than the number one oh well yeah that is true especially after their Taco Tuesday um guys your thoughts because I think it's gross here's what I think I think it's gross I don't know this

person from the social so it's nothing personal she's probably a right lady but she's also a person that is speaking on behalf of A lot of people, though, a lot of people that are like, are subjective. Where's his humility? This is not how, you know, entertainers should react. In fact, the whole, like, premise of this speech is like, wow, Salome really stepped out of the norm here with this speech. You know who she's talking to, though?

And I don't know who it is. I don't know the show. She's talking to the other women who are at the table, meaning like, I don't want to be in your chair. But you know darn well on the view of the American version. There's somebody that wants to be in Whoopie's chair. Exactly. Right? But this is her trying to cover up with her three friends there of like, you don't say that.

But we really got to get off this, Dan, where like, you know, where we're pretending to not want to bring and be our best because you're just raising a bunch of lame old lazy kids where we should be preaching exactly what Shalema's saying right there. Like, I have a teenage daughter. You think I want to show her what this woman's saying? Or do I want to show her what Shalemay's saying? No. Go after greatness and be the best that you could be. The end. We'll take your feedback next.

audition against each other. Isn't that the competition of all competitions? You would think so, right? Trust me. You audition for a big movie? roll? That's, that's, that's, are they not competing? Auditioning for, what a bunch of frauds. An Academy Award level movie is the same is trying to make a starting rotation in baseball. It is the elite competition. Good luck. Is that subjective? No. Someone beat your ass out.

No matter what. My daughter's a big nerd, for real. She's a cute kid.

She's a cheerleader. She's not like a typical nerd. Like some people I know growing up. Why did you just look at Iowa Sam? He said that. I did not. My point is, even in the world of smarts and academics, you should see how competitive these kids are with their grades.

My daughter has a 4.0. I'm like, that's not good enough. These kids are so competitive and they even talk down to kids who they think are lesser than when it comes to their smarts. We growing up with sports, always competitive. When you have that competitive mindset, it trinked. down, trinkles, trickles, whatever. Trinkle. I'll go with trinkles.

I like trinkling. Into whatever it is you do moving forward. So, again, I said it before, when I realized I wasn't playing shortstop for the Yankees, only because they had Jeter. My next step was broadcasting. He had it covered. So I was like, all right, I get it. Whatever I did moving forward.

I heard it wasn't because you didn't want to shave your goatee in the 90s. No, but, dude, it's true. That is true. actually. I forget who said this. Let's just say my grandma for fun, my tita. Whatever it is you do in life, if you're mopping floors at McDonald's, you bring your best and you become the best. You bring that competitive mentality to the forefront so that you could be the best. And Timothy Chalemay is a sports fan. I believe he's done that in the world of acting. In fact, he admitted it when he received a sag award and it rubbed all these nerdy arts people, the wrong one.

Right. One last time. Take a listen to, Shelby. Hey, Jeremy! I can't downplay the significance of this award because it means the most to me. And I know we're in a subjective business, but the truth is I'm really in pursuit of greatness.

I know people don't usually talk like that, but I want to be one of the greats. I'm inspired by the greats. I'm inspired by the greats here tonight. I'm as inspired by Daniel Day Lewis, Marlon Brando and Viola Davis, as I am by Michael Jordan, Michael Phelps, and I want to be up there. So I'm deeply grateful to that.

backlash from that because art's subjective. No, everything's competitive. Because I originally saw the headline like, oh, Shalomey fumbles

The thing that I find interesting is two things. This lady that's making the comment on whatever show, she's interested in having her viewpoint heard by as many people as possible.

She's not saying, hey, I want to stay on this little show and be a little part of this little show. She wants it to be big. and this is a room full of people whose egos, some of who can't be contained in that room, who would die to be giving this award. Dude, you're so right. You're talking about a roundtable show, you know,

like a women roundtable show. You don't think they all want to have huge ratings to beat the view or something? Exactly. And again, you know, art's subjective. Then why are they at an award show? I don't get that. Yeah.

It's so contradictory and hypocritical. Back to the phones. And thanks, man. I appreciate that call. I appreciate it. And speaking of competition, Kavino? And the, quote, Mamba mentality that Matt wants to talk about a second. We should all have the Mamba mentality.

I see it with the little kids. I just started coaching T-ball. I've been coaching my daughter for a couple years, but now I'm coaching my son. One of the dads goes, you'll see real quick that the minute one or two of the boys start picking something up, they, at five years old, they're like, well, I can't let little Justin do it if I can't do it. And they get competitive at that age. And that's the best way to do it. And I love that mindset, too.

Well, if this guy could do it, I could do it. That's how I got into radio. I know. I went to the college radio station and there was a guy on the radio. Z-89 in Syracuse. And I go, this is the guy on the radio? Well, if he could do it, I can do it. If he's the guy, I do it.

I'll do it better. Sign me up. I want to learn. You know what it's called to? The Eye of the Tiger. Remember Rocky had it, lost it, got it back? Yeah. You got to applaud that. Not like make fun of somebody because they have it.

I kind of feel they had to do it because if he didn't, it would be pretty glaring, but it should be a fun atmosphere tonight in downtown L.A. Chiefs GM, Brett Feats, expects Stennon and Travis Kelsey to return and play in 2025. Coach Andy Reid said today that while they haven't officially heard from Kelsey, he told Kelsey to take some time away after the Super Bowl loss to the Eagles,

and feels Kelsey is doing that right now. Brown's GM, Andrew Barry, reiterated that the team isn't interested in trading defensive end Miles Garrett, while Ravens GM, Eric DeCosta addressed the sexual misconduct allegations made against Justin Tucker. The allegations are serious concerning, the amount of allegations are serious and concerning. I think we're fortunate that the league is doing an investigation. We'll wait as patiently as we can for as much information as we can. It will make a decisions based on that. Elsewhere in the NFL, the bill signed wide receiver Khalil Shakir to a four-year extension.

And this news out of Indianapolis, Anthony Richardson is not being guaranteed the starting quarterback job for the Colts entering the 2025 season. He had been the starter his first two years. GM Chris Ballard said today that Richardson will be part of an open competition. Guys, back to you. Hey, because life's a competition. Thank you, DB, Dan Beyer. Yeah, but in stupid drills? How about you got actual footage of him playing? Like, what gives you more of an idea of how a guy plays? Him actually playing? Are these stupid drills? The level of importance that they put on it is ridiculous. The fact that he wasn't there, okay, I'll give you that. Like, you know, you don't want to, what do you think you're better than me?

I don't like that vibe of it. But to pretend like, man, we really need to see his skill set. You've got plenty of footage. You know, I could see where people would say, what do you think you're better than me? Like, you know, people that back into their parking spots? Yeah. What do you think you better than me? You're better than me?

Of course you would, Sam. You back into your spots? Only since I moved to L.A. I didn't do it in Iowa. I swear. It's not some country pumpkin thing. People don't go away for summer vacation. They actually summer in Montauk.

you all want to be treated with respect and the same rights. But on a football field, in a radio studio, in a TV studio, in an office, and a work, you know, in an oil patch, whatever the hell you do. Not everyone's equal. They're just not. Shador Sanders could say, listen.
