It is LeVar Erington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you, taking you all the way up until noon Pacific time, 3 o'clock Eastern time on a Monday morning. And a Monday morning after the first edition of college football for 2020. Oh, it lived up to its expectation. I'll tell you that. All those disrespectful people that we've talked about on our show. The linebacker position is not dead.

How about that, dude. Linebacker is alive, baby. How about it. It's alive. It's alive. It's back. Week zero delivers. Big day for the underdogs. And it all started in Dublin, Ireland.

Well, yeah, you didn't get the Notre Dame fan base there, Brady Quinn, but you did actually get a good game, unlike that beating that Notre Dame gave to Navy last year. Yeah, it was a good game. A little unexpected, I think, for a lot of Florida State fans that flew across the pond for it. I have a number of friends who went down for it. And I have to tell you, I don't feel that bad. And when it was all said that, I think they had a fun trip minus the game.

But as we talked about, I mean, it was, it couldn't have gone off to a better start. I think as far as a top 10 ranked team in preseason rankings, this is one of the reasons why preseason rankings are so irrelevant in my mind. because we honestly have no idea what these teams are going to be. I mean, the storylines that we heard about Florida State were, well, this is redemption, right? This is all because of what happened to them last season, getting left out of the playoff and all the opt-out players. You know, you can't count the bowl game versus Georgia that wiped the floor with them.

No, this is about redemption for Florida State. I even saw people tweeting that after that first drive when they go up eight-nothing in the game, only come to find out that yeah, maybe you lost a lot of pieces from last year. Maybe it's actually been, there's only been one quarterback, one quarterback in the past decade that's been able to win a national championship that was a transfer quarterback. I'm not saying that transfer quarterbacks don't help potentially improve your program, but the reality is it took Joe Burrow into his second year at LSU for him to be able to win a national championship and he's the only one that was a transfer quarterback so we get all

bought into the hype because the transfer portal and all this stuff going on the reality is the game's still one in the trenches Georgia Tech ran the heck out of the football and even though they're the undersized team they came out on top in the end it was it was a fun game to watch I found it thrilling even though I'm sure there's a lot of Florida state fans who are extremely upset about it so I love rankings though I love rankings because I go into the game looking at Florida State and I say to myself this is a top 10 rated team this should be a fun game for Florida State to show off their wares to show off their high price free agent I mean their transfer portal quarterback my bet shots out to DJ who can't throw further than five yards

accurately but it is what it is all I'm saying is I thought it was like okay here we go they're showing the pre-hype of the Florida State players doing their river dances and all kinds of stuff I don't even know if the river dance comes from Ireland and Dublin. I would assume it comes from. That's okay. Well, then they were on point then. The bottom line is they didn't bring that river dance to the football field. Yeah, that man right there, number 44 to middle line.

Kyle Lepard. Who, you want to talk about a linebacker showing taking advantage of his opportunity of being in front of the big stage. Golly. My man was playing. He looked like a linebacker. Yes, he did. And he played like a linebacker. Yes, he did.

And you know what? I knew there was going to be a problem. We were doing up on game when the show came on. I was handing it off to Mr. Jonas Knott. Yeah, I was handed it off to Jonas. I meant to get you on the show this weekend, too. We had some great quarterback conversations. Got to revisit them with you Q.

But I'll tell you what, we're watching the game, and I'm like, I don't think that they're intimidating Georgia Tech enough. And yes, they score pretty quickly. They got it downfield. They ran it in. but Georgia Tech was able to answer it and then it becomes a defensive struggle. What I took away from the game is like

they allowed Georgia Tech to be close for too long and they started gaining some confidence. They started making some plays that gave them more confidence and then it turned into, wait, we're still in it to, we can beat these dudes. Then it turned into y'all some trash. Y'all ain't even supposed to be out here with the yellow jackets.

Y'all not even supposed to be out here with Georgia Tech. We own Dublin. To me, that's why I love college football and that's why I love rankings. The reason why I think they are what they are, yes, they're overrated. Yes, we're right.

We don't know what type of team we're getting until they start playing. 100%. But the fact that we put these expectations on these programs and they have to go out there and they have to perform with them and you play a team that's actually a pretty good team.

I mean, Georgia Tech is not a sloppy team. It's a major conference team. And you got to go out there and you got to beat them. You got to play. You got to beat them. No weeks off, no. Oh, you'll still make the playoffs. Early parts of the year don't matter.

Just keep playing. No, you got to go out there and play or somebody's going to clip you. And now every other team that's ranked and rated has to go into the their first week of games knowing, knowing that the expectations of what they carry, what they're ranking is now on the line. It's not a given. It's not a given you're going to go out there and beat a team that's unranked. So you better get your head where it's supposed to be.

Think about it the right way and approach the game the right way. And you better play. Otherwise, you're going to have 44 and company coming into your house taking your candy, taking your, taking a, taking a, taking a, taking a, taking a, laid out of your refrigerator, and you don't want that. I mean, why doesn't it happen more? You know, because we've talked about it before to where you don't get a preseason. So you just roll out what you got.

And if teams are a little sluggish or maybe you're not as, it's like you end up, that's why when somebody plays a Alabama plays a Wofford or somebody like that to open up the year, I'm never critical of it because I always think, dude, they don't get a preseason. And like Marvin Harrison Jr. said this recently. He was like, yeah, I wish we had like maybe a preseason game in college football. football like we have in the NFL so we can gear up for the year. Because now you look at it and you go, so Florida State might have just, if they had national championship hopes, like yeah, the expansion of the playoff is going to help, but

like they can't afford to lose the rest of the way, really. I mean, like that's a problem for them for the university. And on the flip side of that, if Georgia Tech is all high and mighty on this win and Florida State goes out and lose three or four games, this win against a quote-unquote top 10 team at the time. isn't going to amount to much at the end of the things because we're going to look at it and go, yeah,

but that team turned out to be not very good. So you're just basing it off of, we assume this team's going to be good, there's a 10 next to their name, and that's where we're at at this point in time. The assumption is based on what they do in recruiting. I mean, that's what it comes down to. If you look at preseason rankings on any given year,

it's, in essence, recruiting rankings. They are stacking up the teams they feel like are the most talented because we believe that the most talented teams end up finding a way to play in the major bowls and for a national championship. So that's really what it comes down to. And as we've kind of touched on like DJ Owe-Uy-Uy-L-L-A, he comes in as the transfer quarterback. It's his third school.

You know, and I think you have to pause now too because the bigger picture discussion is this, if you have a transfer quarterback and that head coach went somewhere else, and he didn't bring that quarterback with him. Isn't that a red flag? Isn't that telling you something? Jonathan Smith is now in Michigan State. And Aiden Childs followed with him from Oregon State. My imagination leads me to think.

Take the quarterback with you. Well, no, that he didn't want DJ. I'm going on that. He wanted Aiden Childs. Unless I don't want you. Exactly. Yeah, absolutely. So I think there's cause for concern for a lot of,

of programs out there where you find a program that didn't want to bring their quarterback and then trying to find the rationale behind it because clearly Michigan State needed a quarterback but Jonathan Smith didn't choose to take that Oregon State quarterback. He chose to take Aiden Childs. So that was the first thing too that I think bigger picture discussion was brought to the forefront of my mind of like, well, let's just look at the stats too. And I'll reiterate what I said a moment ago. In the past decade, there hasn't been. a national championship won by a transfer quarterback with the exception of LSU and Joe Burrow. And it took him into his second year.

So when you look at some of the programs that are looking at bringing in transfer quarterbacks in their final year of eligibility, I look at it and that's why I've said, I think Georgia's the favorite. Carson Beck was a kid they recruited. He's come up through their program. He understands the expectations of Kirby Smart and Georgia. and he's been there the entire time building for this moment. You know, you look at Ohio State with Will Howard.

They're going to be tough. Oregon with Dylan Gabriel. They're going to be tough to beat. They might be tough to beat, but they both have quarterbacks that didn't choose to initially go there. Dylan Gabriel's on his third school. Went to UCF originally, then Oklahoma, now to Oregon. It's tough to be able to develop chemistry.

To know the offense, like the back of your hand like you would if you had been in the program for three or four years. That's difficult to do. It's difficult to throw with anticipation. It's difficult to understand the body language of guys running in and out of cuts or when things break down. Being able to look for that guy, I know this guy. I mean, when I was in college, I had a kid named Jeff Samarj, I had Maurice Stovad, Raymond McKnight. I knew because I'd thrown with them so much what they were going to do, even when they had their back turn to me.

I knew which way they were going to try and anticipate all that because I could read their body language. It's hard to do that in college, especially because think about it. I mean, you're limited with what you can do because of the hours you're allowed to have organized based on the NCAA rules. This isn't like the pros where you can go ahead and get together and go on a vacation, your downtime and all that stuff. And you're working 24-7 anyway, pre-practice, post-practice, during practice, you know, special teams drills. You're with your wide receivers over there looking. It's not like that. You don't have as much practice time.

So I keep kind of going back to that too. when you look at the teams that I feel like have consistency, a lot of oftentimes it's because they've got those guys who they're rolling in that have been through their program. And Tom Brady talked about this too, about how there's, now there's college football teams. They're not programs anymore.

They're teams. I mean, you're kind of signing up to go play for that team in that year. Whereas a program, you're getting there and you're being developed. Like you go in through it your freshman year and you're kind of putting on muscle mass. You're getting stronger. You're learning the offense.

You're learning what it means to be a student athlete at that university. All that stuff has gone out the window now. And I think that's one of the reasons, too, why you see these inconsistencies for players who are really experienced. Or when you go over to Ireland, you're like, well, that's not that big of a deal. Florida State's a more talented team. Didn't work out that day. So I just think it's kind of beware.

As we head into week one of college football, beware for a lot of those underdogs. Because I think there's a number of teams that the margin of difference isn't as big as maybe Vegas thinks. Or I should say our friends out west. It still should be talent that wins out. I'm not exactly sure why FSU came up short against Georgia Tech. But when you think about those teams like a Georgia or an Oregon or an Alabama or an Ohio State, they stockpile talent. and I think one of the biggest things that college sports is going to have to adjust to

in the football realm and probably in other sports as well is not being able to have the stockpile of talent two and three two and three positions deep. I feel like you can always look at a Georgia or an Alabama or an Ohio state. You can always look at those schools and say that they're going to be a team that contends for a national title because if somebody goes down,

there's not only one player that's ready to step up. There's two players. I mean, at one point, think about your boy, Tua steps in at half time, at half time, and wins the national title, at half time. And I know he's there, and I get all of the things that you're saying, and there are definitely points well taken, but I still think that college football has always been about stockpiling talent and enough talent where it can carry you through an entire season to the playoffs, to the championship round of games. That's how I look at it. So to me, I looked at Florida State and I came away from that game saying you're not as talented as they thought you were. You're not as good a team as the country thought you were.

Or it's just too early and that chemistry or that continuity just hasn't taken shape yet. And you know what? Unfortunate for you, fortunate for Georgia Tech. Georgia Tech takes advantage of a big stage, puts their name out there. Florida State has an awie the first week out. I mean, based on what we've seen so far, four games into the college football season, it does feel like, you know, we're going to see a lot of happy fans in Morgantown this weekend. It does, you know, if we're just looking at how this all...

Well, I mean, I'll say it. It's going to be a challenge. They have a good quarterback in West Virginia. We have two new coordinators. So you want to talk about continuity. Talk about getting continuity between coach and player. Oh, are they playing Penn State? I didn't even know.

That's all good, man. I didn't even know how to just... It's all good. I'm underplay it, though. I'm a downplay it. I'm a downplay it because I think our defense is going to come out and do what it needs to do. And I honestly, I think the maturity of Aller and the maturity and the look of our backfield, I think we're going to surprise people on the passing game. And I think we're going to be who people thought we were in the running game. So I'm confident.

I would say the one thing that always stands out. And I think this is every coach's concern was when you go back and watch that game, but really any of the college football games that you saw and going back to the initial point of there are no. preseason games, right? So you don't really have that warm up of, hey, we're full go. Like this, you've got to tackle them to the ground, right? Like, oftentimes there's limitations to how the offensive line and D lines are preparing, how guys are hitting when they're actually trying to get guys down to the ground when they're out in space. All that was to me on display. You know, sloppy, poor tackling, penalties at times. I mean, there's, there's those things that you just can't prepare for until you get out there and you actually start playing in a real live game. And you're

scenario. And I thought that was one of the things that stood in the way for Florida State. I thought Georgia Tech played a bit of a cleaner game as far as miscues and tackling in general and just better play up front. But I think that's the concern for any, you know, favorite. Like Penn State, for example, it was a double-digit favorite. Now I think they're hovering around about eight points or so, eight to half, depending on the book. But the general point is that's, that's every coach's concerned. That's James Franklin's concern. That's Neil Brown's concern. That's every single head coach's concern with that first game of the season is just trying to play a clean game.

I mean, where you're not missing a bunch of tackles or missing blocks and missing assignments, all those things. So I thought that was one of the things that stood out to me as well. If you're looking at a reason for shocking up how Florida State, you know, ended up losing that game, that was another reason that you can tally up there, which, again, is a concern for everyone in college football. It was interesting. Brady did make a change to his ex profile where it says the face of Big Noon kickoff. I mean, why not? I never have done anything like that. You didn't do that? I mean, why not own it? Somebody needed to do it. Somebody needs to get a hold of your account right down.

You know what I need right now coming off of this weekend based on our text conversation the last 24 hours? I need an update from Lee as to his fantasy draft and just the overall wellness check on Lee. He looked good, man. We can ride my wheelhouse, baby. Yeah, he looks good. Lee, got a few extra hours of sleep, much needed. Hey, look, it looked like as long as he has that recovery time.

See, we don't get the recovery time usually because it's too, it's too damn early. Lee has his fantasy. So for people that aren't familiar, Lee to Lap is the executive producer of our show, and he lives life hard. And Lee had his fantasy draft yesterday. And we asked him like, hey, how's it going? And he said, oh, I got my wits about me. I'm on my way over. And you would think, all right, he's got his research.

He's got his pamphlet. He's got, you know, his draft rankings and all that. Now, Lee was walking in with an 18 rack of beer and tequila shots that were waiting for him. Yep, full handle. And you said, what was your, what were you doing an hour yesterday? Two and two. So two beers, two shots? Yeah.

All right. Fair enough. Yeah. Beer and a shot per pick. And you drafted somebody that had already gotten drafted. I did do that. DJ Moore right before me. Took a long time.

So somebody literally said DJ Moore right before you. And then I took a long time. And then you drafted DJ Moore again. Yeah, they let me. That was the all-called joke for the rest of the draft. I got Patrick Mahomes out of it. I think I did good. Yeah.

All right. Sounds like it, bud. But he sounds coherent, by the way. Listen to him. Q. I mean, he looks good. He sounds good. He's even dressed up good.

He hasn't laughed or smiled too much. Today, I mean, all systems go. He's great. All systems go. All systems go. There you go. No malfunctions. No malfunctions.

Nobody's good. No malfunction on a Monday for lead to lap here. Now, if we could just keep that room from getting dust cropped by, you know, the dust cropping crew, you know, that's in there. We should be good. Yeah, Greg Toohey, you just can't trust the guy. Yeah, that's a problem. That really is the problem. I mean, it was the beard that gave it away from me.

When... My bro be dropping bombs. Bombs. Oh, yeah? Yeah, yeah. Seems like it. Yeah. Well, we do have ourselves a situation.

There's a couple of teams that are waiting to figure out what their plan is a quarterback. One of those could be the New England Patriots who are going to make a decision very soon because they've got Jacoby-Berset, the backup there, or the veteran there. they've got Drake May and Jacoby Brissette suffered a little bit of a shoulder injury in their preseason game against the commanders. And so Drake May went in there, played pretty well, and so well that the head coach, Gerard Mayle even pointed out that he's out playing Jacoby Brissette, but talked about what's going into their decision.

It starts in practice and also in the game where, you know, Drake has played better. Now, in saying that, you know, everyone wants to know who the start. going to be. I think there are multiple factors that kind of have to go into this decision. One is the total body of work, whether we're talking about the spring or the entirety of training camp. And now I'll also say oftentimes we forget about just the overall experience that a guy like Jacobi has, which will also be weighted in the decision that we have to make here in the near future. So if Drake May has played better, and he also pointed this out, he was on WEEEI and pointed out that he's outplayed

Jacoby Brissette. I mean, doesn't it stand to reason that he would be the guy? Because if you don't make him the starting quarterback, I mean, what are you saying? Jacobi Brissette's got a shoulder injury too. Yeah. So that's why I'm, or is this just Belichick leftovers? It's gamesmanship.

I mean, that's what Drod Mayo knows. And Mike Tomlin's doing the same thing. Russell Wilson gets the start in the last preseason game and they pull him before he could do anything good or bad. Even from that point, I think he had a couple of completions of Pickens. That was it.

I mean, at this point, I don't know why, but at the NFL level, they do it. The coaches still do it. They still act like no one knows who the week one starter is going to be or whoever it's going to be. Like, you don't have a game plan set up for both quarterback. This is the NFL. You have an entire staff that has helped, you know, to break down,

hey, these are the things that Russell Wilson struggles with. These are the things that Justin Fields struggles with. So whoever's in the game, they've got a game plan oriented to that. Am I wrong, LeVar? I mean, like you've got more than enough time to prepare for your week one matchup. Absolutely. Absolutely. And listen, my first takeaway is we're not going to name a starter because we don't want you to have the time to prepare for who's going to play.

And I would imagine unless you plan on playing that game all season long, which you could possibly do with in New England. or in Pittsburgh. But unless you're planning on doing that game all year long, this is the one time where I'd say you can do it and use it effectively, you know, in terms of going, what, till Thursday, maybe, maybe Friday? I don't know, but I think you could try to tow the line

and play a game of chicken with this one in terms of who you're going to play just so you kind of give a team, you know, their defensive side of the ball, something to, you know, it's better to prepare for one and assume that if he goes down, this is what we have to deal with with the backup. But it's a totally different way of preparing as a defense, especially if the two players have two different ways of playing,

two different styles. If one's more mobile than the other, whatever maybe one might be more of a pocket passer than the other one, it's a little bit more difficult for defense to settle in and prepare for the guy that they're going to go up against. So if I'm Mayo, I drag it out as long as I can for at least the first week. I mean, if he does announce Jacoby Brissette the starter, I mean, is that an indication that he realizes this team stinks?

We can't keep Drake May healthy, so it may as well just send Jacoby out there. Like, you have a veteran. I don't think that's the message since. What do you mean? Like, Jacoby's the one that's hurt. I'm just saying. Let's go getting more hurried. They can't keep Jacobi Presum. Throw them out there in a sling.

All right. You don't want to cost this kid his career this early in the season. You can game plan around that stuff, man. I mean, at some point, too, as a player, you've got to protect yourself. I mean, and when we see this all the time, we always talk about, well, they're going to play them when the guy's ready. No, they're not. They're going to play them when they feel like they want to put him in and play them to see what they have in the guy.

Because ultimately, you never know the guy's ready until he gets in the game and he showcases whether or not he is. They are going to be brutal this year. I'm sorry, man. have no hope? No, not at all. They're going to be the worst team in the league. I'll say that right now. And by the way, for anybody that wants to say, what about

Carolina? Do you see Bryce Young slinging it around out there? It's a brand new player. What if Drake May comes out and start slinging it? Yeah, there's always, that's the beauty of sport. There's always the chance that a number 10 can get knocked off by unranked team.

There's also, you know, cut down day in the NFL. Oh, yeah. Today's the day, man. It's kind of sad. That sucks. Just the end of the road. A lot of cats. Although we come to the end of this road.

Still I can't let go. It's a natural. I don't belong to them. Oh, no. They don't belong to me. Don't say that. They give you a trash bag, Jonas. They get trash bag.

So it's really just a trash bag? That's your going away present. Take your ass and put it in the trash bag. Although in their defense, it is one of those heavy duty ones, like the ones that can really handle a lot of weight. Not one of this cheap ones that like rips and tears. They don't want to deal with that mess in the parking lot as you leave. So it's definitely the heavy duty thicker, the thicker black ones that you get.

Usually when you're like on a construction side that throwing stuff. Pause. So not one of those 99 cents door bags. You got to get that thick, strong black one. But like what are these kids? guys too. What are these? I wouldn't know.

What are these guys? Super strong. All right. Extra heavy duty. So it's over and, you know, Brady kind of made the point we were talking about it in the notes back and forth like, hey, you know, like this really is the end. Like they're never going to play ever again. It's probably something they've been doing since they were what, nine, ten years old and

it's just six, seven, I mean, even younger. And it's just over. So now what do you do? You got the whole rest of your day and life ahead. you and you got a trash bag with all your stuff in it. That's not, I mean, it's a very stressful time, man. Do you just go start drinking immediately? You don't go to a canteena somewhere and just start throwing back a couple of throat burners?

Why a canteen? Why an Irish bar? Because I'm more familiar with those than I am Irish bars, to be honest with you. I mean, the reality is, I would say for about of those that get cut, and by the way, this isn't like the final cut. It is, but like you're not safe if you're on an NFL roster until week one. Like the day of the game, week one. And there's all sorts of...

They still get rid of you. They still can, but like as a veteran, they can cut you. And then that way, they don't have to guarantee your salary for the rest of the season. There's all sorts of different rules and stipulations within the collective bargaining agreement. So that's like a little unknown thing that flies under the radar. But that's very much in play. So like I remember guys who, you know, You'd come into the wait room for like your morning lift and they'd be all happy and whatnot.

And then you'd see someone walk in and be like, you know, so and so, you know, bring your playbook, come see coach. And it's like no one's safe. Like you're kind of walking on eggshells for some of those guys who are on the back end of the roster who maybe will still get cut. And reason being is you've got a Brandon I, you, Trent Williams, situations like that that make it more complicated because you don't know how long they're going to hold out. I mean, they can hold out into this season. and if they do, are you going to, I mean, you're going to keep on the roster, right?

Why don't know if they decided to come back, week two, week three, right? So there's all sorts of considerations like that that these teams have to factor in. And on top of it, you know, you've got guys who will get cut like we talked about, will never play again. They're probably getting into coaching, maybe scouting, or maybe they just move on. Maybe they're going to something completely different that they studied during their time in college. Levar, you've never been cut, have you? Yes, I have.

When? Football-wise? Yeah, I was released from the commanders my last year there. I mean, it was a mutual deal. I mean, I gave money back in order to buy my freedom, but nonetheless, I mean, I still considered to be fired. Yeah, but not like this, though, where they gave you a trash bag. It's kind of worse because they were trying to hold me.

They were planning on holding me up until my roster bonus kicked in and probably cutting me the day before my roster bonus kicked in. What did Dan Snyder give you, like, some store brand Ziploc bag for the freezer and say, here, whatever you can fit in here, take it with you? I don't like the flex. I don't like the flex at all, but I just never went back. I learned a lot from Coach Prime, man. I never, like, what was ever in my locker? You got it, because I didn't have anything personal in there anyway.

It's not like I had to go back for family photos or anything like that. Some guys do, though, huh? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. It's like a small apartment. I probably saw the handwriting on the wall. So my last year, there, there were no personal items in my locker where I've been like, I got to go back and get it.

Yeah. Like when I was done, I was done. They would put their girlfriend up there or something like, no, it would have been a girlfriend. They could have had that too, you know what I mean? I know, but that's just a bad move. Because, I mean, the guy's the locker walking by, like, oh, who's that? And if they see them, and if they see them at the postgame tailgates, you know, they might say hello. So if they put a picture of their girlfriend up, where would the picture of their wife be?

Huh? Where would the picture of their wife be? And they're probably in their wallet. Oh, okay. Yeah. Well, I'm just trying to get a sense of this. I've never been in an NFL locker room, so I'm just trying to get a sense of what this is. I don't know of any of those people that you speak of, but I'm just saying if that were to be the situation where you had a girlfriend that was actually looking good enough to put up in the locker and a wife that was good enough to be in your wallet, probably in your wallet.

You know. I'm just speaking. in terms of what it possibly could be if that's what it was. I'm with you. I'm with you. I don't know. Total hypothetical. Shots out to all the wives that hold it down, though. I mean, while the girlfriend gets all the props in the locker,

He discussed some of the criticisms he receives for being the Cowboys GM. Here's what Jerry had to say, quote, I've done it all. So I have an ordinate amount of confidence that blank, if anybody can figure out how to get this blank done, I could figure out how to get it done. So hell no. There's nobody that could blanking come in here

and do all the contract. and be a GM any better than I can. Plus, I'm where the buck stops, so when it blanks up, I got to cover it. Oh, man. Well, I mean, he's making some valid points there, just not all the way valid. Yeah, Jerry hit up a watering hole in Oxnard's way.

Let it go, huh? I say he's also not really doing any of the contracts. So I could do that. I mean, I could have the title and not do anything. I could do that too. You know, maybe you should be out for the job because, hey, they don't look good. It looks like they're doing real well. Take it a little while to get done?

They're taking a little while for him to do what it is that he's saying he's going to get done. I just want the CD Lamb holdout to last into the season. That's all I want. Well, Todd doesn't want that. Not after he took all that time to draw up the lamb and put the CD initials up there for its fantasy football. Shots out to all the fantasy football players out there. Hope you got your roster together well. I think, all right, if you had to bet right now,

does the C.D. Lamb contract get done before the season? I'm going to say no. I just think he wants as much, if not more, than Justin Jefferson. And I just don't see that happening. So I'm going to say no. Yeah. I'm going to go, no. Not by the start of the regular season. I'm struggling with this one because I think he has the best case of anyone to get it done.

outside of, I guess, Iyuk, but there could be a trade, and who knows if that happens, how that impacts getting the deal done. And even then, though, C.D. Lambs had better numbers. So I'm going to say for his sake, I hope it happens. I hope Jerry Jones gets this deal done. And the final note on that one was after the final preseason game for the Cowboys. I'm sick of this bleep. Jerry Jones was asked about it, and he said,

no update and I'm only talking about players that are currently here. Now he did make it a point to say last week that Trey Lance is making the roster. Like he wanted to make that clear to everybody that Trey Lans is making the roster. Maybe a good thing. I think if he had his druthers, Trey Lans would have did so well in preseason that it positions him to actually tell Dack that you can either take what we give you or kick rocks. We got your replacement. Now the way you said that, like you make it seem like Trey Lance didn't do well in the preseason.

I mean, I think he did. And as I say, five interceptions pops up on the television. I don't think he did bad. I mean, I know that's an exorbitant amount of interceptions. Five interceptions? Yeah, that's a lot. It wasn't six. All right.

All right. I mean, when your TD ratio to INTs is one to five, I mean, there's no justifying, getting rid of DAC. that. We'll stay in the NFC East. The preseason has come to a close. Now that means

we can officially say not a single projected starter on offense for the Eagles played a single snap. Here's what their head coach,

Nick Siriani had to say about that decision. I felt like we got enough work in. We're ready to go and we're comfortable with where we are.

Like what I said. I totally agree. Get your work done in practice. Get your work done in practice. And for what it's worth, if you are going to

have a season, I get it, like it's been discussed on our show, give the other guys an opportunity to try to make the roster or make another roster, I get it. I just don't think you need three games to do it. College doesn't need any, apparently, so there's that. Well, Florida State needed one.

Damn. I don't know why people would have an issue with this. I mean, imagine losing one of your starters in a preseason game. And you are the Eagles a team that should win the NFC. should make a playoff run potentially a Super Bowl run.

Especially as stacked as that roster is. So why would you put any of that at risk by playing in a preseason game that's not going to matter at all when it comes to division standings and all that? Exactly. Didn't that happen in Philly? We're talking preseason.

We're not talking regular season. We're talking preseason. Preseason. If you're an Eagles fan, didn't you maybe want to see because the chiefs gave Patrick Mahomes a little bit of a run. And let him throw behind his back and get everybody excited and get out of there.

With everything that happened at the end of last season, you bring in Kellynne Moore. Did you not want to see at least one drive of what this could look like to start the regular season? I bet you Philadelphia Eagles fans, if the Eagles start off slow are going to reference back to this not being a preseason that they took advantage of. And then Nick Siriani's going to have to explain it. I bet you that's what's going to happen. Well, they're such a rational fan base. Well, they want to win. Yeah. Pennsylvania's don't like losing.

They don't take the losing kindly. No? No. Especially to Ohio. We'll wrap up with this. I just let I throw that out there. I'm a boy. I'm feeling frisky today.

I appreciate it. You ever seen the Pirates play? Oof. Last note here. We have a reunion in Kansas City. Wide receiver, Juju Smith-Schuster, back with the Chiefs, after the Patriots released him earlier this month.

Last with the Chiefs in 2022. They won the Super Bowl. And among wide receivers did lead the team in yards and receptions. Oh, that kind of. be dangerous, man. It's kind of interesting, though. Sneaky grab. Like, I thought they were pretty

stacked. I mean, is it maybe more of a concern with Rishi Rice off the field? They do have Hollywood Brown, even though he's battled injuries so far. Like, Xavier Worthy, you drafted, you've got Kelsey. And they've got some other receivers, too. I mean, maybe they're just able to load up. That's how it works.

But kind of interesting that he would find his way back there. I understand the desire because he's going to be in contention for a Super Bowl. Yeah. But from the chief standpoint, I mean, I guess he knows the system. Possession. That makes sense. Yeah.

I would say possession receiver. Like a backup, like a backup QB. Like, throw me in when you need me. I'm here. Yeah. Does he still do TikTok dances or no? I don't know. Not anymore?
