We're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Oh, here we go. It is a Wednesday. We're live. It's the herd wherever you may be and however you may be listening. Thanks for making us part of your day. Jay Mack and I went to the Warriors Lakers game last night. Now my binoculars can't see that far away.

I was very close to the Lakers huddle. mesmerized by the brilliance of LeBron James. AD sat out. I'll tell you what? Between the Lakers not shooting well and the Warriors shooting well, it was not a night for AD to take off of the Lakers. Can you even take away a lot from this game?

Warriors, I think, set a record. It was like the greatest three-point shooting night in the history of the sport, according to some of the stats. I don't know what to take away from. No AD, though, is bleak for the Lakers. Well, here's what I took away from it. So Clay Thompson wants to stay with the Warriors, but Orlando's going to pay him a lot of money, a young team that needs a shooter.

The question is, how much can you pay him? Well, Joe Lacob, the owner through the years, has kept his guys together. But Clay Thompson has looked in playoff action like he's washed. It's looked like it. But if you notice, sometimes coaches send messages upset. stairs to the owner. Not verbal messages, more subtle messages. And I watched that game last night. Not a lot you can take out of it. AD is not there. Warriors were crazy, hitting threes. But it feels like Steve Kerr and his staff are running more of the offense through Clay Thompson,

are getting Clay Thompson more minutes, are getting Clay Thompson more shots. And they're saying to the owner, Joe Lakeb, we need him. He's part of our soul. The Warriors don't have any size. So they have to shoot well to win. Dramon, five for five in the first half on three. Steph never missed one last night. Paws was three for three. And the warriors are not a good team if they don't hit three. 16 and 31. They're a great team, 28 and 4, when they shoot over 40%. And Clay Thompson is part of that. And they drafted a kid out of Santa Clara Pods. And he's got more energy than Clay. But he's not as refined as Clay, and he hasn't put on all the hours with Draymond and Clay.

And I'm watching last night. And if you look at the numbers for Clay Thompson over the last three months, his usage rate up each month, points up each month, minutes, up each month. Why is he getting all these opportunities? Why was he on a Draymond Green podcast? I think the staff is sending a message, Cominga, all their young bigs, they trade those. guys tomorrow for a legitimate big time center. They trade all of them. The core of this franchise is Steph, Draymond, Clay, and Pods.

And at times, these look washed. But they don't have any answers. They can't be to Denver. If AD plays last night, it's a different ball game. But at their core, Draymond, Steph, and Clay are so good together, create so many shots together, this is who they are for the time being. And everybody on this team has to be ready to play on Steph's timeline and Draymond's timeline. And Clay can do it.

Nothing against Jonathan Kaminga. But when you watch him live, he doesn't have a finishing package. He's two or three years away. He's not on Steph's timeline. He still needs two full seasons to really be a dominant player inside. He's just athletic, long, and twitchy. So I'm watching that game last night, and I don't know what you can take away from it. But what I did is the Warriors would give away all their length to get one legitimate big.

It's why I believe they're going to go after Janus or a Carl Anthony Towns or whoever. But they are getting that ball to Clay. They're running offense through Clay. He's getting more minutes. His usage rate is up. And there's a reason for it. Because this at their core, this is what they are. They shoot.

Well, they win. They shoot poorly they don't And Clay more often than not shoots well Here was Steve Kerr after We made You know a million threes And so the ball was going in

Everybody got going And to shoot whatever 63% from three That's that's crazy We always try to shoot the lights out Doesn't always happen Now as far as the Lakers go Anthony Davis didn't play

And so Anthony Davis, whenever you have a great player, I used to call, you know, LeBron was the great eraser. The Miami Heat went to the finals four straight years. They had no size. They were a bad rebounding team. No true center. They didn't have a true point guard. LeBron just sort of erased all your issues. He still does, by the way. But on the Lakers now, the one player that really has become their best eraser isn't LeBron. It's Anthony Davis. And when Anthony is out, Man, do you see the limitations with this roster?

So LeBron's on his eighth or ninth coach in his career based on, do you count interim guys or not, eighth or ninth? And I don't know if he loves Darvindham. Darvindham's a defensive coach. He has weird rotations. I mean, if you don't have Anthony Davis and then you put Austin Reeves and LeBron at the same time on the bench, who's shooting? Who's creating shots?

What are you doing, defensive coach? So part of Darvinham's rotations aren't great. But let's be fair. This organization is playing catch-up since the Westbrook move didn't work. And they moved off Russell Westbrook. It didn't work. And they got length. And they got some shooting.

But they didn't get any shot creators. Austin Reeves is okay but limited athletically. And DiAngelo Russell sits around waiting for you to get him the ball in a good spot. He's not elevating others. LeBron James, last night, year 21, when Anthony, Anthony Davis is out is still by a wide margin the best shot creator, either his own or a teammate on the floor. And it's not close. That's why when Darvindham without AD takes him out and Austin Reeves at the same time, it's a head scratching moment.

But this is really the key to this organization now. For years and years, even in the bubble, it was LeBron's team. They wanted to hand the baton to AD the following year, but he came into camp out of shape. But when you watched the Lakers last night, when AD's not there, he's the one that covers up the holes. So why did the Warriors have such a great shooting night? Because Laker defenders knowing they don't have AD protecting the rim sag off their shooters and it's wide open practice jumpers for the Warriors. AD plays.

you're more aggressive defensively, warriors don't get the open looks. If they beat their man off the dribble, AD snuffs them at the tin. So it is no longer LeBron. AD is their eraser. He changes their entire defensive mindset. LeBron doesn't have to be solely the shot creator. You can just dump it down low to AD. He'll get stuff off the glass or create his own shot.

But, I mean, it's pretty obvious. and Draymond Green spotted it, you take AD out, all the holes, all the realities. Every roster has realities in this league, including Denver. Boston's about the only roster in the league that is deep, talented, and there's no holes in it. Boston doesn't really have a hole. Denver's got a hole. It's called their bench. But you take AD out, man, can you see the holes on this Laker roster?

And Drayman talked about it after. It's different when it's AD out there Because he covers He cover up so many mistakes Or you know You can follow things to him So it's a totally different Look when he's not on the floor

Yeah By the way we were both of that game last night It is interesting to watch this warrior team For them to pivot to a championship team Because they're not a championship team now They're going to play their way in Hopefully to the playoffs But they're not a championship team

I don't think the Lakers are either, but I think they're closer because of their size and they match up better with Denver. But if you're going to pivot to a championship team, it's pretty obvious to me the four guys you'd have to keep, Steph, Clay, Pods, and Dremont. You can move off your bigs and get another big. Wiggins is really not part of the fabric. He can give you nights occasionally. But I was struck last night, and I've noticed it over the last two months. The usage rate of clay, the minutes for clay, the shot. for Clay. It feels like to me,

Kerr is making, he's making sure the guy's upstairs knows because they're the one that cut the check. They're going to have to overpay Clay relative to his current status. They're not going to pay Orlando money, but Kerr is trying to nudge him into the, you've got to pay some money because this is who we are for the record. Have you noticed how good the Warriors now are as a road team? That's another thing Steve Kerr realizes is that Clay's maturity on the road. They got Jordan Poole out.

Last year, the Warriors were the worst road team outside of Houston in the league. They're now one of the best road teams in the league. Why? That's another thing Kerr is saying. Remember, Kerr defended Draymond after the punch, because Kerr knows. Kerr is defending Clay Thompson in the last couple of months. He didn't have to say it. He's showing it by his coaching.

This team now is a great road team. Why? Steph, Clay, Drayon, the soul. odds, by the way, is a very good player. He's got great energy, but he just needs more reps. He needs another year or two. I don't know. I would be careful to read too much into

early April victory when the Lakers were missing. Well, see, regular season and Sunday. It meant something. Here's a problem. What happens if you go to the play in and you're the Warriors and you lose? AD's there and the Warriors lose and the season's over, they don't get to the playoffs. Then what? Then it's just

keep four guys still in play? I don't. I think you have to. I don't like that. You're not competing for a title if Kaminga is somebody you're relying on. You're not competing for a title of Clay and Draymond and Pods and Curry are your big four. But you can make a pivot. I mean, you put Yonis on this team with those four. You're not keeping pods if you're bringing Yonis.

I mean, come on, you've got to give up something. You're giving up comminga. You're giving up all your draft bets. Come on. Bucks are taken of Cumminga and a poo-poo platter for Yonis. Come on, man. I don't know. The Darwin Ham stuff, I think you might have buried the lead there.

Is LeBron going to be on his 10th coach? What are the chances of Darwinham's back next year? Let's just go. 75% back or gone? He's going to be back. Really? Everybody bangs on Darwinham. Well, wait a minute.

Hold on. He pulled Reeves and LeBron and the Warriors going a 15-3 run in the game. What are you doing? The game was over in the game. It was over in the first half. The Lakers were not winning that game last night. They were within four, five, six in the third quarter. And then the next time down, they were down nine.

I mean, that game was never in doubt. I don't know. Darvin Ham is wearing thin on me. Now, I'm not going to overreact. No, Anthony Davis. Don't you notice, though, that people talk about rotations a lot. Fans and media do when you have holes in your team and you want him to just play LeBron the whole game.

LeBron's in your 21. You have to give him rest. He was the first guy off, by the way. He was the first guy in the first quarter that checked out. Yeah, he was, he's coming off the illness, the flu, you know, over the weekend, not, not feeling good, a little head cold. You guys are all beating up. Who were you more worried about heading into the play in?

The Warriors or the Lakers? The Warriors I'm not worried about. They just have realities due to their lack of size. Kaminga's not a polished player. He has no finishing package at the rim. He's just, how about TJD last night? He's bouncy. He's fine.

But again, he's not finishing at the rim. These are kids. Yokic isn't a kid. Carl Anthony Towns, Rudy Gobert. These aren't kids. They're going to get old sub-bonous. You know, you're not, those clippers are all old guys. It's weird to think one of those two teams we saw last night is going to be not in the postseason.

Well, I was thinking about this. Beyond that. My takeaway last night on the NBA, how good are the Western Conference playoffs going to be? Tough. Thank God, Embed came back. Or the Celtics may just sweep their way to the finals. At least they could push them back a little. I think the Celtics may be looking at a 12-0 in the Eastern Conference.

As we near the draft in a couple of weeks, we've officially hit the point of the draft where we are finding flaws that I'm not sure exists. Caleb Williams will go number.

one, the USC quarterback will go to the Chicago Bears. We all know that. Greg McElroy, a friend, I know him, I like him, but was critical of Caleb Williams a couple of days ago saying he'd never faced any real adversity. Caleb Williams fired back listing five or six different things he had faced at his USC career and Oklahoma career, illustrating some of the adversity he is faced. I like Greg McElroy, but I will say this. Did he watch USC's offensive line the last two years? Its nickname was adversity.

There was only one way the last two years to win at USC. Shootout. They allowed 49 points to Cal. I don't even know how that's possible in the PAC 12. The truth was, the roster was 65%, 70% transfers. He didn't know half these players. USC's defense was not only bad, it was the 121st ranked out of 133 in Division 1. It was the worst total defense and the worst scoring defense in USC school history.

Caleb Williams felt like the mom who has four kids. The husband leaves her, won't pay child support. She gets three jobs. And now all of a sudden people say, you know, she's been a little moody lately. Why she always so tired? I don't know. Circumstances? If you watch Caleb Williams the last two years, bad offensive lines,

average running back tight end wide receiver talent outside of maybe Brendan Rice and Jordan Addison. An atrocious defense, the worst in school history. As the PAC 12 last year may have been as good as it's been for 20 years. I don't know what qualifies as adversity, but the idea that Caleb Williams came to USC and it went just as planned, that's actually the opposite of what happened. It was really good for about eight or nine games and then went sideways fast due to a lack of personnel, coaching on the defensive side, and just chaos within the program. Let's not pretend stuff that doesn't exist.

There's enough flaws out there for the young players. Johnny Mansell was on Skip Show this morning and talked about Caleb's transition and his style from college to the NFL. You can't play the same college game forever. Has anybody comes to the NFL, it doesn't matter if it's Lamar or Kyler or any of these guys who come in who are really good on the unscripted side of things. You know, he's going to have to come into a system and play within a system. What I hope for Caleb is that he gets somewhere that unlocks all of this, somewhere that can bring this side out in him, because these are plays that you can't teach, you can't coach, and that are just natural to who he is as a football player. Yeah, but he has essentially had to overcome coaching, defense, circumstance,

You can YouTube some of this stuff. I think he had one, maybe two bad halves at USC in two years. And that was about it. J-Mac with the news. No, no, no, no, turn on the news. This is the herd line news. You know, we don't traffic in bad takes here, but that McElroy take was awful. For a guy who's super smart, right?

Remember he was a college academic, All-American and almost Ace the Wonderlick? That was one of the weakest takes I'd heard on King of the. Well, USC has been a circus the last year and a half. Did you not watch college football? Like Caleb Williams went through a ton of adversity almost every year. I just, I was disappointed. Anyways, let's start with the NFL draft. Teams are looking up their boards, valuing prospects.

And Colin, Albert Breer interviewed an anonymous NFL coach who has Michael Pennix Jr. As the second best quarterback available, adding he's a stud, a born leader, calm and collected, stands in the pocket. Let's Play's Develop. Just a winner. we watch a lot of college football in these parts. I'm sorry, you can't convince me that Jaden Daniels was a better quarterback last year than Michael Penix. I know that pro prospects are different, but this take does not shock me that Penning's the second best quarterback, according to a coach.

I think he throws the best ball. He also had a great coach, a great O.C, two NFL offensive linemen, three NFL receivers in a conference known for offense over defense. So I like Michael Penix a lot. I think he throws a beautiful ball. The knock on him, I don't think he. he's a Sean Payton quarterback necessarily. The knock on him has been teams like Michigan faced him and said, throw over the middle, throw underneath.

He doesn't do that. To that, I would say, I'd rather have to teach a guy the underneath stuff than the ability to see and throw down the field. So I think, depending on where he lands, and I think I've told you this, I think Caleb Williams will be productive week one. The rest of these quarterbacks will be as good as where they land. I think, though, he throws a much better ball than guys I like, Bo Nicks, better than J.J. McCarthe.

better than Drake May. I think he throws a beautiful ball. So I'm looking up the list of left-handed quarterbacks in the NFL, and there just aren't many of them. Steve Young, Mark Brunel. I'm talking about currently, like right now. Oh, yeah, yeah. And so you look at some of these teams and the coaches, like drafting a left-hand quarterback, it's not just plug and play. You've got to flip a lot of stuff, make sure the offensive line is in right shape because the Miami Dolphins coaches talked about this about having a left-handed quarterback. It changes a lot of things in the offense. Well, couldn't Miami argue with that?

Tua being a lefty. That's the spot. To me, that's the best spot. Yeah, I don't think that's a bad call. That's not a bad take. I think Miami, because his comp is that he is a bigger Tua. He's had college injuries, like Tua. Left hander, like Tua.

He throws a better deep ball. He's a stronger athlete and a stronger arm than Tua. Like Tua, he can move, but you wouldn't call him like agile or, or he's, you know, he's not going to run around. Like C.J. Stroud, he can move, but that's not his game. Herbert, same thing. It's just a plug and play. You put Pennington.

Now, this is where it. It's interesting, Colin. What's going on with the Tua extension? Rookie contract. You're waiting for that second. We've been hearing for a couple months now. I think this was like starting in February. Dolphins moved off a lot of guys.

What's going on in Miami? Are they waiting for another quarterback to get his extension first and see where Tua falls? I don't know what the answer is. But I certainly think Michael Pinnock should be in play for my... I think that's the best fit without... For me, maybe best fit of any quarterback in the draft. I don't think that's terrible.

I think, yeah, I think Caleb's going to fit anywhere, but I don't think that's terrible. I think Michael Pennix and Miami's are really good fit. Now, I think, I don't know if they take him. I think Bo Nix works with Sean Payton. I think he reminds me of a young Drew Brees. Accurate, moves well,

heady kid, reads the field. That's what he reminds me of. So where does Jaden Daniels fit? I think he's going two to Washington because Cliff Kingsbury's had several quarterbacks that play like Jaden. So I'm told, I am told this morning. And I was told over the weekend that Washington and Jaden Daniels, as of now, that's the pick.

Don't love it for my Washington. If a quarterback's going to drop in this draft, one usually does every couple years. You think is Drake May? Drake May. Okay. So just remember, we'll move on. We don't have to move on. It was like October.

And Caleb was struggling. And you start to hear the chatter, ooh, could Drake May catch him? because Caleb is really struggling and the Notre Dame game. And now all of a sudden, two weeks before the draft, Drake May's falling. Well, that just feels a little sauce. What happened is Drake May, the initial comp, is, wow, it looks like Justin Herbert. And then over two months, all the scouts start pouring over film.

Then he doesn't have a great pro day, misses on like simple stuff. And everything is something. Nothing is everything. there's been a lot of somethings, something that have not been for Drake May. The more you pour over film, why did he have a bad final year, not as good? When you pour over stuff, why didn't he have a very good combine? He's not a natural easy thrower. Like he's the size and plays a little like Herbert.

He's not quite as mechanical as Herbert, but he's also not as consistently accurate as Herbert. And I think as you pour, it's like a resume. It's like when you're interviewing somebody for a job, if I had to make a big, huge hire, and you see somebody's resume, it's like, wow. And then you make two calls and you hear something you don't love. And then you interview them once and you're like kind of like it. You interview them a second time and you're like red flag.

The further and the deeper you dig, sometimes you get little bits of information that you don't like. Okay, fair. I'm not going to argue. I'll just say this. If Washington takes Daniels over May, they'll regret it. Just file that away. Wes will clip that off.

Anyways. Next up, how about this last night, Colin? I knew we were at the Lakers game. But what about the Phoenix Suns? I looked at my phone and saw this score. The Suns were down 35 to 4. Oh, my Lord. In the first quarter, at home against the paper 1.

35 to 4? James Hardin did not play. Kauai Leonard did not play. And it was 35 to 4. I'm not making the score up. They ended up with 10 first quarter points. They trolled as many as 37 points. The Suns are now the 7 seed.

And they had all their guys. What a disappointment. Beal, Booker. Booker was one of 11. KD played. This was at home. Now, I haven't, I didn't talk to my couple of Phoenix Suns people that I know. But I got to imagine they are starting to get a little nervous there about the Suns. I got to be honest with you. I did not watch this because I was at the Laker game.

35 to 4 at home. I've never heard of anything like that. And two of their three best players were out, Hardin and Kauai. Like, what? Did you not try? Now they play again tonight. Colin was wrong on this. I thought they were going to end up number two in the West.

So I thought they were going to, yeah, I'm not going to say it. I thought they were going to win the championship after they trade for Bradley Biel. I was like, oh, they're going to win the West. So I mean, here's the thing. We both liked them. I did think the criticism of the bench was fair. Bradley Biel's not as healthy as I would have hoped. But what is the primary reason why these talented guys, does this go back to what KD is,

which is a great shot maker? He's not a leader. he's not a tour to force personality. Who's your alpha in the huddle in Phoenix? I don't think it's Booker. I like Booker a lot. So last night, when you go to the Laker game, I'm sitting there walking by the Warriors bench.

And Draymond Green is literally with Steve Kerr, talking, barking, instructing. It's like, that's leadership. And KD didn't know what's like the way Draymond led. But Draymond has taken a team with no biggs and a bunch of kids, and they're vile. I mean, this Phoenix thing, this has been a disappointment. Frank Vogel.

By the way, not a good day in Arizona yesterday. Oh, boy. Oh, wow, you went there. Bad day in Arizona. I'm not a big, I can't believe you went there. I'm not a big gambler on NBA in the regular season. But the Sons play the Clippers tonight here in L.A. First quarter, the Sons had better come out with their hair on fire.

And you've got to assume they're going to exact some revenge. First quarter bet, you want both of us to lay it? No. So the numbers. my staff just sent this. So we knew the Sons didn't have a great bench. It's horrific. It's 29th in bench scoring.

I saw a stat. They're one of the worst teams in the fourth quarter in the NBA. How are you with Booker and KD? How is that possible? When everybody was on this, Katie's better than LeBron thing, which I thought was this nonsense. Where LeBron is really foundational,

is his basketball IQ, how he create shots for others. When you watch Laker games, LeBron is orchestrating it. He's the maestro. KG's just making shots. And he's a great shot. He's just making shots.

I need more from him. I'm sorry. Sorry, Kay. I love KD. I need more. I need leadership. You can't just go out and say, I'm going to make shots and play defense

Magic Johnson was so fun and different. I mean, every fast break felt wild.

Every fast break. Magic and Michael were Matt. Larry Bird was great. Could be clever, but it wasn't magical. LeBron is great. It's not always magical. He's just a fast. force of talent.

Shack was a lot of fun. You couldn't take your eyes off Shack. Luca's just a score. So the two best players in the league, Yokic and Luca are just boring guys. I love, because of his passing, I love Yokic's game, but they're not scintillating. Tim Duncan was great.

He didn't jump off the screen. He was just great. Carl Malone's game. John Stockton's game. You can be great and not fascinating. The Alabama Crimson Tide Dynasty was not fascinating. it was just powerful. USC, the Miami Heat, that was dynamic.

Kansas City Chiefs with Mahomes and Andy Reid's play calling. That is dynamic. And so Luca's just great. Not every great player I can't take my eyes off. Lucas second in the league and assists, 9.8 per game. When you have the ball in your hands,

the entire game, you get assists. Stefan Marbury got a lot of assists. Listen. Westbrook gets a lot of assists. This is going to be a brutal NBA playoffs for you if you keep knocking down Luca and Jason Tatum because I think they're going to meet the finals. I'm going to go Boston, Dallas. That's my...

In the finals. Yeah. And if that happens, you're going to be just so disappointed. No, I'm not. You don't love those guys like I did. No, no, no, no, because I'm getting offensive stars. I'm getting Kyrie, Luca, Tatum, Brown. Not Porzingus. By the way, I read a story on Porzingis this morning. It's a fascinating story. So Porzingis, remember, he bounced around. Nobody like... Yeah. And then all of a sudden, basically, you know, Dallas moved off him, and they figured out something about Porzingis. The more he dribbled down low.

The worse, the longer he dribbled, the more dribbles, they count that stuff, the worse the possession was. So Porzingis went to his trainers and his basketball guys and reshaped his game. He stopped dribbling as much down low. He took out about 50% of his game and rebooted his game and the Celtics noticed in D.C. Nobody else paid attention. But Boston's like, he's a different player. He's rebooted his game. Wow.

And a lot of people struggled to adapt. You know, Mello used to say, my game is my game. It's like Mello, hit threes. And Mello stubbornly, like, my game is my game. So Porzingis just rebooted it and went to analytics and his basketball people and took out a lot of things he was doing that were the antithesis of, they didn't elevate his game, they stopped it. He wasn't efficient.

And now you watch Porzingus and you're like, okay, this is the unicorn. Like, he is really a good player. Adapt or die, right? Well, I mean, I like stories like that. I like that poor Zingas had money. He was famous. And he went out there and just said, hey man, I want to. By the way, this is one of the things LeBron was willing to do.

LeBron was willing. I remember LeBron early was a freight train, but he wasn't much of a shooter. And then LeBron kind of figured it out before he went to Miami. He started shooting more and more and more threes and staying away from the box. He wanted to be out on the break, defend. He moved his game outside more regularly. and he was ahead of the league. Now, he was never going to be Steph the shooter or Luca the shooter,

but LeBron was a head of the league. The Porzingus is fascinating because he was always talented. He was like the first unicorn. He was like Chet Holmgren and Wemby before those guys. But then all of a sudden he kind of bounced around the league and nobody liked him and he wasn't good. And now you watch him and you're like, he's the third best player on that team. He is a two on almost every team in the league.

And on a couple, he's a one. Well, if he's a... On Washington, he was a one. What is he on Boston? probably a three. Well, what's Jalen Brown? A two. So Drew Holliday's a four?

That's why they're a championship team. Wow. Well, that's why Boston, I mean, Derek White's a five. Derek averages 16 a game. Yeah, I think they've got three. So Boston's the deepest team in the league by far. They got like three, two A's basically. Yeah, I mean, Tatum's a one, Brown's a two.

Porzingis is a great three. And Drew Holliday is a three A or a four. And Derek White's the best five by far in the league. That's why Boston's going to be in the final. easily. So the Cowboys, according to Adam Schaefter, are a sleeper team. to draft a quarterback high in this draft. Of course they should. This is the last year potentially of Dak Prescott. The Patriots did this regularly when Tom Brady was the best quarterback in the world. Bo Nix and Michael Pennix, according to Mel Kuyper's mock draft,

will not be picked in the first round, meaning Dallas at 24 could draft both or either, right? Like they could, if Pennix is there or Knicks is there, or Nick's, there, you know, they'd take either of those guys. I would. The best current quarterback organization in the league, and they've been good forever, the Green Bay Packers. They did it with Aaron, and they did it with Jordan Love. They drafted them and sat them for three years. They actually had a plan. Doesn't it feel like Dallas really doesn't? You don't have to do this. You could be the Pittsburgh Steelers who coddled Big Ben, and then by the time he decides to go, they only only had Mason Rudolph a backup on the roster and had to reach in a weak quarterback class for

Kenny Pickett, who they've now moved off of. What do you want to be? The Packers or the Steelers. They're both big brands. One is much less relevant. Green Bay remains viable and relevant every single year because they have a plan. Kansas City did this. Alex Smith was making Pro Bowls.

They got Mahomes. Joe Flacco, he's still in the league. They draft in Baltimore, Lamar Jackson. So it's obvious to me if Bo Knicks or Pennix is available, draft them. If you're an adult, it's okay. Dak'll be fine. He doesn't need to be coddled. But what is your plan?

You're going to have to pay CD. There's stories down. Micah's wearing people out. You know, sometimes I wonder, that Micah story has been underplayed by the national media. and the cowboy stories are almost never underplayed. But something gets out when people want it out. Why is the story getting out about Micah Parsons with lots of details that he's wearing people out? Somebody wants that story out.

Is it the Cowboys that want it out because they know the league is pivoting to an offensive league, it has, and they know they've got to pay DAC and CD Lamb, and they don't want to pay Micah. And so they're going to move Micah and get picks and pay somebody else on the offensive side, which, by the way, I said two days ago when that rumor leaked out, T.J. Watt and Miles Garrett, where are all their playoff wins? If you're telling me I've got to add a great left tackle, another weapon, I would do that over even a great pass rusher. I wouldn't have done it with Aaron, Donald, Reggie White, or Lawrence Taylor in their prime,

but that's not Micah Parsons. He's not at that level. He's been inconsistent in some big games. So it's, I would draft, I would absolutely with that first round 24th pick, I would draft a quarterback. I would. I mean, you also need another wide receiver. You can get that later in the draft. It is once again a great wide receiver draft. You can get a tackle later in the draft. It's a great tackle draft.

Those quarterbacks are all gone by the second round pick for Dallas. They're all gone. Sorry, I thought I misheard you. So the Cowboys have won 12 games three years in a row. And they're drafting 24th. They are a contender to get to the Super Bowl in the NFC. They have been for the last couple years. And you wanted to take a quarterback at 24?

Was Green Bay not a Super Bowl contender when they took Aaron Rogers and Jordan Love? Interesting. How did Aaron Rogers take that news? Well, who gives a rip? Exactly. He hated it, and he was the MVP of the league, and they went to, I think, the conference championship game. And when he left, they're immediately viable the very next year. And when Rogers left, they were.

were viable by the second ear? Or do you want to be the Pittsburgh Steelers now who are crossing their fingers on a really cheap Russell Wilson and that Justin Fields is worth more than a six-round pick? How are the Cowboys contenders for the Super Bowl? I don't have them anywhere in my top eight in terms of, now again, again, I think they're a good football team. But Green Bay and Detroit have much better rosters. Kansas City is a better organization. Lamar's a better quarterback. So is Josh. I'm not saying Dallas isn't good. I'm not saying that. They're a good team. I shouldn't say I don't have them anywhere near my top 10. That's wrong. Were they the number two seed in the NFC last year? Two or three? I mean, they hosted a

playoff game. I'm going to look up the Super Bowl betting odds. And then they were blown out at home by the youngest team in the NFL in the playoffs since the 70 Buffalo Bills. Let's remember how the season ended. They were humiliated at home by Green Bay with a bunch of second year players. Bad loss. Super Bowl odds. Because you said you don't have the Cowboys in what you're... Just let me restate that. I don't view the Cowboys in my Super Bowl bubble, which I put eight teams every year in that. I do not have the Cowboys in that. Absolutely not.

Interesting. So in the NFC, the Niners are ahead. The Lions are ahead. The Eagles are ahead. I don't know. You do have the Eagles ahead of the Cowboys? I think. Well, Sequin Barclay was a good get.

Come on. Running backs. And then the Cowboys are, actually, I'm sorry. Cowboys are tied with the Eagles at plus $1,700 ahead of your beloved Green Bay Packers at plus 9. Vegas makes big mistakes. They made one with the Rams last year. Okay. So, I mean, Vegas makes mistakes. Otherwise, you and I wouldn't hit on 57% of our picks every year. So you're telling me, do you have Dallas top four in the NFC?

I think San Francisco, in no order. San Francisco, I trust more. Philly, San Francisco, Rams, Green Bay, Detroit's my top five. So Dallas would be sixth. And I would say, wow, keep your eye on the Sam Darnold Vikings. Oh, stop. Stop it. Seven and a half. Don't keep your eye on Atlanta.

It's crazy. You're like, they got Kirk Cousins. Oh, Atlanta. Keep an eye on. Dallas has won 12 games three years in a row. In a bad division where they dominate Washington and the Giants. Eagles won the Super Bowl last year. When you go, when you go 4 and O every year in division over Washington and the Giants.

Wait, two years ago, the Giants made the playoffs. They had three teams from that division. You can't just keep crapping on it. I'm not going to let you do that. The Cowboys are not that bad. I'm not saying they're bad. I'm saying they're not Super Bowl viable. I'm not saying they're bad.

And I'm also saying 24th pick. Who would you get? That's no man's land for drafting. Nobody wants to draft late first round. The idea, you know who went late first round? Lamar Jackson. Okay. We should do like a...
